For a while, Everton were Sunderland's bogey came, 16 league

games unbeaten between 2002 and 2012. That has changed in recent

years, with Sunderland winning their last two matches at Goodison.

However, it's not Sam Allardyce's favourite team or ground. He has

lost his last six games against Everton and hasn't won in five trip

to Goodison. Your commentator is Steve Bauer.

looking to build and Everton are in need of positive strides.

our fans. If we don't sort those defensive frailties out and we don't

you have got something, you hang onto it, if you are going to give it

away like we gave it away when we got to 2-2, it will be a long haul

over the next few months. We scored the second, and I supposed we

believed we could go on and win the game. But Everton are a good side

and if we lose the ball, they are one of the best teams at

counterattacking. They definitely punished us. With everything you

have been through since you joined Everton, you must feel you have got

your reward today. Yeah, I am feeling good now. I had my injury,

but now I am feeling good. I think this season, I want to do everything

to finish the season top of the league. It has been a difficult time

for him but the way the fans were singing his name under way he felt

with the performance is a phenomenal story that you want to show all the

young footballers. Yes, digesting thing about this

game, six goals for Everton, two for Sunderland. Sunderland were getting

back into it, and yet there was a subdued atmosphere. It was quiet at

unplayable. Especially Kone. This was him early in the game. It looks

almost too easy at times. Strong, quick. Keeps the ball here. A little

pace. Good feet. Pops it off and just keeps it. Very good play from

your centre forward. This time, won by Stones. Look at

him trying to burst the gap to get into the box. Deulofeu doesn't need

him and scores a very good goal. This time we see it. The ball is won

there. It is Gareth Barry. Puts in Deulofeu, who runs, takes a little

touch and plays a great ball in there into the box. Lukaku can't

quite get on the end of it. This time we see his first goal, on the

half turn. A one-two, lovely with Lukaku. A wonderful finish with his

left foot. But he was outstanding all day. Think of the options

Martinez has, Lennon, Mirallas, Naismith. But he chose these two. A

fantastic ball. That ball was so hard from Deulofeu, so difficult to

deal with. He put it in his own goal. What an incredible pass that

was. He didn't have to break his stride. Look at that, clinical,

decisive. Fantastic. Lukaku does brilliantly there, Kone taps it in

with his left foot. We see this. What a ball it this is from Lukaku.

outstanding. All three players were great but we saw the dark side of

out with the big boys for the first time of their history and

Today saw the first ever meeting between the two in the top flight.

miles apart but it is only the second season in the last 35 years

that these two clubs have been in the same division and it is the

first ever meeting in the top tier. Southampton have been going well. So

coming. It is thoroughly deserved in what we have seen so far and with

the boot of Davis. Who, having not scored for a long time, now has two

in the space of a few weeks, having scored in the 3-1 win at Chelsea, he

has another here. A beautifully-worked opening goal.

have really broken this game open now, with two goals in the space of

launching himself at the ball. And despatching it into the back of Adam

Federici's net. Up high above Distin. There is an Italian version

of the haka for one of the backroom staff at Southampton, who is

Have Bournemouth got a couple of goals in them? They have managed to

score in each of their last eight league matches. They need to try to

find two here, the minimum to get anything from this game. Sliding in

is Clasie. Now Stanislas. Looking to make his mark off the bench.

Stanislas, drilling that n deflecting. Just getting away from

Davis. Arthur still gaining ground. Maybe showed a little bit too much

of that to Van Dijk. He felt that he was going to be able to get the ball

away. Ultimately, he is adjudged to have committed a foul. Bournemouth

We'll get a better idea here. Not that close in the end. Bournemouth

still not testing Maarten Stekelenburg to any great degree but

at least they are in the game a bit more in terms of the general play. A

long chase for Matt Richie. But he has got there. King waiting in the

Southampton player on the arm there. I think the referee would have had a

good view of that. Actually, I think that would have been a big call from

the referee there. The referee was perfectly placed actually.

Bournemouth and a yellow card for Wanyama. It will be his second one

of the match. Southampton will finish with less than the full

complement of 11 for the second league match in a row, having had

man a cent off at Liverpool last week. -- having had Mane sent off

last week. There is a real desire

Bournemouth are approaching this second half. Good save. 'S Declan

Burke hasn't had much to do today, but he was there when required. The

referee blows the final whistle. Southampton's day, but not quite the

Sunday afternoon stroll that it appeared as though it might be at

half-time. Southampton totally outclassed their opponents in the

opening 45, but Bournemouth came roaring back in the second period.

The only thing missing was a goal or two. It is difficult to play the

whole 90 minutes like the first half. Great ball position, good

movements. Great goals. You know it is difficult to keep that level for

90 minutes, because you always get the reaction of the opponents in the

second half. We feel like we have goals in the team. Our problems have

been getting the balance right between attacking and defending. In

the second half, they did not get in our half. The disappointment was the

lack of clear-cut chances for us. How have you found it in the Premier

League so far? You have looked comfortable. I enjoy every day, all

training, every game. It is an amazing place to be. And the club is

very good. amazing place to be. And the club is

here. It was a great goal. Yeah, and the second one was as well from

Pelle. A bit frustrated with the way things went in the second half. But

there are positives to take. Southampton now unbeaten

Southampton going forward, you were very impressed with Virgil Van Dijk.

Yes, I was. When you consider what centre halves have gone to clubs for

in the summer, a ?13 million signing from Celtic. This guy is going to

prove to be an absolute bargain. He smells the danger straightaway, gets

himself across. He did not put a foot wrong all day. It was a lovely

60 yard ball. This time, he did not have a lot of options. Plays it into

Wanyama. Look how quick he is, again reading the danger. This was his

best bit of play. That was potentially a goal saver for

Southampton. In the second half, he was under more pressure.

They did everything but score. Now he shows great pace.

The story that will not go away is the possible link to the Netherlands

job. They haven't qualified for the European Championships. You just

wonder whether, if the Netherlands wanted him, do you think he would

go? Well, when your country comes calling, I suppose it is difficult.

But he is doing a great job at Southampton. I think he is enjoying

his job there. He has built a really good side. Time will tell. I think

he will be at Southampton for a while. Eddie Howe is finding it

tough. He is finding it difficult. We all know they have lost the goals

of Callum Wilson. But it is what they are lacking when they have the

ball. This was the first day of the season against Villa. It is his

they have come in a short space of time T I can remember in the late

'90s going to watch them and there would be 1,300 people there. Now

21,000. You can't get a ticket on a weekend. Plans build another 10,000.

Kevin Jones, I have to mention him. I know him well. I have known him a

long time. He does so much hard work behind the scenes. Not only at

Swansea but in the community. So does Lee Trundle. There are a lot of

people behind the scenes that don't get the credit they deserve but it

has been a City thing, really. Swansea, everybody has galvanised

behind the club. Where they were and where they are now, is remarkable.

An amazing story, what about the Garry Monk story doing the rounds s

there anything to it or nonsense? Nonsense. Garry has done a

phenomenal job. Swansea finished the highest place in their history last

season. There is far too much quality. I'm in the having that at

all. Mesut Ozil, outstanding yesterday. The form player in the

Premier League. Nine assists there this season.

looking at yesterday is how it'll link up with Giroud long term. We

know Walcott is injured. That's what he gives you. We speak of strikers

stretching the opposition, Giroud doesn't do that as much. It is the

appreciation that his team-mates have for him. The one big thing. He

is such a talented player. His awareness, gets to the buyline. Look

up, sees the run of Sanchez. He doesn't need to look up, listens to

the shout from Giroud. Pulls it back, a lovely ball from Giroud.

Again, you can see the appreciation his team-mates have for him. A

common theme throughout. This is a top, top quality ball. The Everton

defence can't deal with it. He has put it into an area. Giroud finishes
