A derby, a new manager, a cracker at Anfield, the best of Saturday's

action and Goal of the Month to pack into the next 75 minutes.

We'll squeeze Jermaine and Martin in there too.

And on this Remembrance Sunday, as with all matches this weekend,

the three Premier League grounds in action fell silent to remember

those who lost their lives serving their country.

Last May Crystal Palace went to Anfield and won 3-1 in

Steven Gerrard's final home game for Liverpool.

Steve Wilson was there today to see if they could repeat the feat.

Last time Crystal Palace came here, they won 3-1 and were the stars of

the show on Steven Gerrard's and field farewell. Liverpool's former

captain is here today spectating. And supporting his first return. But

I'm sure, not his last. James Milner's hamstring injury keeps him

out. Ibe, the Europa League starter as a start, Benteke for Firmino was

the only other change to the side which won at Chelsea. Palazzani

without Dwight Gayle, who has been a painful fall in Liverpool's siding

more than one occasion in the past so Bakary Sako returns to the team

and Souare returns at left-back. Interesting to see that Lallana is

the man in the middle of the three behind Liverpool's striker, so

Lallana just off Benteke. Bolasie looking for Sakho, Moreno, only half

a challenge, Zaha onto it. Zaha has gone through Sakho. Can hasn't dealt

with it, Bolasie has and Palace R.N. Front and deservedly so. 20 minutes

played, poorly defended by Liverpool and finished by Yannick Bolasie.

Liverpool nil, Palace one. Bolasie gives visitors the lead. Liverpool

had the opportunities to deal with this. They didn't take them. There

is one. Moreno only really half a challenge. Then, when it comes in,

Can didn't deal with it either. Yannick Bolasie got himself in front

of Lucas to smash it into the back of the Liverpool net. 1-0 Palace.

Crystal Palace have won 11 of their last 16 away games in all

competitions. They are leading here as well.

Good first touch. Benteke. But behind for a corner. It say lovely

little cushion here from Christian Benteke. Credit to Delaney, who got

save. Benteke, really good stop this from Hennessey. Benteke just got

there in front of Skrtel, and the goalkeeper must have seen that very

Concern for Mamadou Sakho, who has been in form of late. It's when he

lands, Sakho. So Lovren will be coming on for Liverpool. Sakho

hobbles very awkwardly away. Oh, suddenly it doesn't hurt at all!

finding Moreno. Given awake, Cabaye, Lassie, offside flag is up

on the near side. Ripped into the back of the net expertly but the

flag was up. They didn't give him very much time to feel that need

back into the game. A bit of a let off for Liverpool. I suspect he

hasn't seen a lot of this weather over the last few months. Home,

sweet home. Clyne was getting forward on the

right-hand side. Coutinho, 1-1! When Liverpool are looking for a lift,

when Liverpool are looking for a bit of magic, Liverpool look for

Phillippe Coutinho and he provides again. Three minutes to half-time.

The team talk looks a little different now. Too much space here

in the first place for Ibe, who waited and waited for Clyne to make

his run. Nicely weighted ball, lovely that, from Lallana. It fell

beautifully for Coutinho. Palace, who have worked so hard in this

first half, may well now have to settle for equality at half-time.

Moreno's delivery was rather comfortably cleared by Bolasie and

at Anfield again. Big celebrations for the visitors and rightly so.

They have been excellent today. Liverpool one, Palace two. We come

here with ambition. We went to United and got a good draw, we went

toe to toe with Liverpool for about 60 or 70 minutes today, 80 minutes

maybe, but for 20 minutes we backed off and we can't do that. In that

period and I'm talking about the 70 or 80 minute period we were great.

The tactics were spot on. The gaffer has always been spot on. We know

when to exploit their weaknesses and today we have been working on it all

week, where we would get our chance to score goals and it has come off

today. This today was not enough for us. We can do better, we can do

more. That is very important, you are tired when you think you are

tired. Nobody can tell you you are tired, but everybody tried to. Since

I am here, everybody says it's a problem, we have to say nobody

decides about us, only we decide about us. No secret you have a soft

spot for this football club, so you must have creamed a few times about

scoring here? Yes, I have. Before the game today I had a feeling I

would score. Fortunately I got on the end of one. It's a nice touch,

three points and we move on, looking forward to the next game in a couple

of weeks. How much stick will you get from family and friends? I will

probably get a bit but they support me as well so I get a bit of both. A

fabulous way to go into a week off? I promised them a few days off, the

biggest factor was that extra day off so fair play to them, they can

book some flights. And they do deserve it, because they

were excellent. Under Alan Pardew, they have won ten out of 14 away

games. So the plans work. It is incredible, it really is. The way

they played today was fantastic to watch. It was end to end, both teams

really attacking, but there were some of those sloppy signs falling

back into little's defensive display. We noticed them while the

game was going on. We seeing display. We noticed them while the

game was going on. We seeing here, we have highlighted Moreno. Because

he doesn't really show any conviction, he is trying to almost

dribble, putting his team under pressure, and it eventually pop out

to Emmrich and. He is trying to pass it to Lucas inside the box -- -- it

pops out to Can. And nobody goes to try to put pressure on the ball, he

stops and almost blocks the vision of the goalkeeper, and they stick it

in the back of the net. This is the second thing, creeping into

Liverpool's game now, the fifth goal they have conceded from a set piece.

We have Delaney up against Moreno. And he manages to stick it in. You

see Lovren and Skrtel and Benteke, and they are all free on the edge of

the six yard box. If you were in position, would you want a big man

to mark the oppositioncentre-half? It is up to the defenders, if they

are marking zones, you would see the gap and move us the three of you

into a stronger position. You want your captain to sort that out and

solve the problem on the pitch. Bolasie mentioned the plans that

Crystal Palace had. A lot of it from what you saw was to exploit their

own pace and skill, particularly Bolasie and Saha, but Sakho was

there, too. Bolasie doesn't get enough credit. He works hard for the

team. And with Zaha and Sakho, they are handful. They are into changing

all the time, look at the movement off the ball here. He is testing the

opposition at every opportunity, and they really are a handful. Alan

Pardew values them. They give you pace at the back, but they give you

hope to win football matches. They haven't got a 1 foot striker, but

look at the feet here, Bolasie, terrorising the Liverpool defence.

Does that help them into changing if they don't have a recognised

striker? I think it does, and look at Zaha 's pace here. The player

that Manchester United turned their back on. A lovely ball that he puts

in, and Sako really should be putting that away. Is that pays why

they are so effective? I think it is the pace on the break, and I don't

think Bolasie knows what he is going to do, half the time, so how can the

opposition no? Alan Pardew is bringing the best out of them. Let

me ask you another quote that Alan Pardew said afterwards. The problem

with this team is it doesn't trust how good it could be. Is it simple

belief? I would say it is. Over the years,

you would have that aura around places like Anfield, Old Trafford,

Stamford ridge, and that is starting to be broken. Alan Pardew is saying,

if we bring this kind of play, we can win here. He picked out positive

play Philip Ball. I thought Jurgen Klopp's Tom Ince were a bit harsh.

-- comments were a bit harsh. The understanding they seemed to develop

was brilliant. This early cross was brought into the box, but it is this

that I like. You can imagine Christian Benteke getting on the end

of a few of them. This intent to get to the byline, he has gone on from

his form in weeks, and this is the goal, and again, that space has been

left by Ibe, he cuts inside, and Coutinho is there to make it 1-1. I

saw an article by a fitness coach saying he had analysed 27,000 games,

and there was evidence that if you only rest two days in between games,

the results can drop off, so Wednesday, Saturday, Thursday,

Sunday, yet Jurgen Klopp is saying, when people tell you you are tired,

you are not to believe that. He is trying to brainwash his players, and

up to now it has worked. They had 22 shots at goal today. He has been

harsh with his players, but he is a winner, and he is a massive addition

to Liverpool, it is going back to Shankly, the communication he had

with the fans. If you told you you were tired, would you believe him? I

would know if I am tired or not, but the good thing is he is a positive

man. I knew him from Dortmund, and I'm sure their players never looks

tired. Are you tired? Listening to you, I am quite tired! Moving

quickly on! Remi Garde's first game in charge

of Aston Villa and the North London derby to come, once we have revealed

the eight contenders for October's Aguero. Kevin De Bruyne is in the

middle for him. He goes alone, he is getting better and better!

That is a risky pass, and Lens is in! What a goal from the Dutch

Next for us is a trip to North London - and the meetings between

these two sides in recent years have provided plenty of talking points.

just once in their last 25 visits, and we know the home side can't

afford a repeat of 2013, when they were humbled by Byron and beaten by

Spurs in quick succession. Petr Cech the only change from the thrashing

in Munich as they face their third game in nine days. Forgotten, it is

three in seven days, and that could make the difference. Pochettino, the

14th Spurs manager to pit his wits against Arsene Wenger. Walker and

Rose sat out Thursday's win against and left, and Amber Lay was a sub.

-- Dembele was a sub. A win for Arsenal would take them here of

Tottenham. Seven wins in their last ten in all. Ozil courted possession.

Here is Harry Kane. He is filed by Mertesacker, who took the ball away

cleanly. Publicity this week again on Harry Kane, at the Gunners

Academy as an under eight, and I saw a quote from him saying that all

that time he wanted to train now in a Spurs shirt. It is a free header

for Doire at the far post, and that should have been Spurs one up. Look

at the room, where was the marking? Spurs should have been 1-0 up. A big

chance, that. Arsenal could be brittle if they go behind, given

their midweek a few million in Germany. Rose, Harry Kane is

onside, and cane scores for Tottenham! He loves this fixture,

and Harry Kane's rejuvenated form goes on. Arsenal 0-1 Spurs. The

offside trap beaten. Koscielny stepped out too late, he is

definitely onside when the ball is played. His fine run of recent form

continues. Seven now this season for Harry Kane, and they have all come

in a flurry. He put it away very neatly indeed. Tottenham are ahead.

Spurs have won only seven of the last 24 derbies when they have

scored first. Sanchez, Monreal. He has bumped into

Vertonghen who has gone down as well, Dembele acted as peacemaker

and Giroud totally lost his rag, and not for the first time this season.

Giroud and Vertonghen tussling. He could have got himself sent off

there. He has been dismissed once this season in the Champions League

football in Dynamo Zagreb. That is rolling, will Santi Cazorla

shoot from there? Quickly across the box, and a little backheel effort by

Sanchez but it lacked power to beat Loris. -- Lloris. I'm not sure it

would have counted, anyway. Sanchez looked a fair way offside to me.

Ozil, and Harry Kane is there, too. They have pressed the ball quicker

than Arsenal. Here is Eriksen. And Harry Kane headed powerfully. The

assistant short that there should have been a throw-in for Arsenal.

This smacks of frustration and concern, the body language from

Arsenal. The body language of Spurs has defiance and confidence. Arsenal

for a while had a history of losing games immediately after Champions

League matches. They have lost five in their last 24 domestic games

following a European encounter. Good save, because he saw it late.

Campbell coming in, saw it very late, good goalkeeping. The first

meaningful save Lloris has had to make, and Arsene Wenger will have to

question that, 48 minutes into a north London derby. Harry Kane goes

for gold, but the deflection goes up and away. But for Flamini diving

back in five challenge, Arsenal would be two down. Spurs look

sharper, quicker to the ball, quicker to use it, snappy in the

tackles. Campbell is pushed over, and that is a needless foul by

Dembele, because there was cover there. Arsenal have created little,

but there is, to get back, and a big chance for Giroud! He got away from

his man, but it clipped the top of the bar. Desperately close but

because he was stretching, it was a decent enough effort. Giroud out to

there, desperately unlucky again, Giroud. Desperately unlucky, or

wasteful. From there, with the goal gaping, he surely should have

scored. The experienced German there read

Harry Kane, can he make them pay? Walker, strong running. Eriksen,

good save, the shot from Alli is over. Just a reminder for Arsenal if

one defeat in 25 meetings between the two sides in recent years. Here

is Kane, missed that one. That could have wrapped it up and games like

this have turned moments like that. That should have been game, set and

match. Spurs have upped the pace again. Really mature display by

just enough. In comes the corner, a great save by Cech. A close range

header from Alderweireld and nearly number two for Spurs. Good save by

Cech. Came at him very quickly. But look at the sloppy marking.

Mertesacker just let him go. Just as in mid week, Kieran Gibbs will come

on to replace Sol Campbell -- to replace Campbell. Flamini won it. He

won it again. Sanchez turns into space, Gibbs is off and running

inside him. Played in towards Kieran Gibbs, couldn't control it. A good

chase between him and Walker now. Laid-back to Monreal. -- blade back

to Monreal. Giroud attacks it in the air. Gibbs' pace against Walker was

telling, in key areas they have lacked pace. Kieran Gibbs! Its own,

the substitute has equalised! -- it is in. Lloris beaten. Quite hard on

Spurs bad. But what he has brought onto the field of play is a

freshness and appetite and most of all, pace. He makes his run, speeds

in there. Lloris soap desperately nearly kept it out -- Lloris so

desperately nearly kept it out. Kieran Gibbs pops up with a goal in

the North London derby. He has only been on the losing side once against

Spurs. It's a game that really means something to him. Well, in their

pre-match bets for first Arsenal goal scorer, how many went for

Giroud on current form, or Sanchez, or Ozil? How many went for Kieran

Gibbs? He had been on the field of play for just over three minutes

when he popped up with only his six goal for the club, his first in Nyom

70 games. For three quarters of this game Tottenham wherein the

ascendancy. One moment can change everything. Arsenal the corner.

Lloris comes, big, bold strong punch, good goalkeeping. It's what

you want to see from your Kibo this late on. Giroud! And Lloris pushes

it away. -- from your goalkeeper, this late on. Arsenal's unbeaten run

against Spurs continues. Totten unbeaten run extends from the start

of the season. Arsenal one, Spurs one. We have shown the mental

strength of the side, we are determined not to lose the game.

Then you could see that it became a different game. On counterattacks,

they are dangerous because they have good offensive players, but I think

we could have won it as well. In the end I think it is a good 1-1. 1-0,

it's an open game. When you play Arsenal, a big team, with the crowd,

the belief and pushed the team, we need to recognise and we need to

understand we have a very young team and this experience is very

important for the future. You have had a tough week, there's a lot of

talk about whether you have enough energy and the tempo and we did

that. We came out flying, created chances, got in their faces and it

shows how fit we are and how up for it we were and we just have to keep

it going and keep working hard. In these kinds of games you can't give

up, especially when you know what it means to everyone in the club, the

fans. They were great for us today and spurred us on. In every game you

have absolutely to fight 200% to make a result. Today, it shows that

maybe they would be down to the team who can find the mental resources in

every game. Let's who can find the mental resources in

every game. Let's deal with Harry Kane's point about the high tempo

game and how fit they are. Mauricio Pochettino wants them to press on

the field and win the ball back after three seconds, they caused

Arsenal problems today. I think Pochettino digs -- deserves a lot of

credit today. It was one of the most complete performances I've seen from

Spurs this season. It was commanding, strong

Spurs this season. It was commanding, strong in every area,

they won all the battles and Arsenal did not have the answers. They did

not know how to cope with them. It started from minute one. Lamela was

a huge catalyst. He has come under pressure from the last few seasons.

The workrate he put in today was phenomenal. We have clipped this bit

here, and look at Mertesacker, he puts his hand out, asking for

support. Look how tight the belly is there. It wasn't just Lamela. In

this clip, he is brilliant. -- look how tight Dembele is there. The king

sure that Arsenal haven't got an easy pass, eventually Lamela is not

happy staying on the wing. That is the type of tackle you want to see

in a north London derby macro, committed. But coordinated. All

coordinated. When you win that ball you haven't got to go through the

lines and get towards Arsenal's goal, you are already there because

they are winning it so high. The ball comes to Eriksen and he is no

stranger to whipping it in the top corner on another day. This is the

only element I didn't like. There was a swagger to their game at this

point and it was nice to see, don't get me wrong, but I felt like

Arsenal were there for the kelp and this is the killer instinct that

Spurs need to get into their game. -- Arsenal were there for the kill.

Take it to them, get the second goal and get the win. They let them off

the hook a bit and five minutes later Arsenal scored. A missed

opportunity? I would say so. If I was a Spurs player coming off the

pitch, I would have been devastated today. I haven't seen the Tottenham

side go to the Emirates and dominate a team for such a long period of the

game. Arsenal's lowest passing accuracy, it is around 85% most of

the season. You weren't happy with other aspects of their game today.

When they're passing is letting you down you don't give away two goals.

I am a fan of Koscielny but today, maybe a bit lazy and his defending.

You have to get into position quickly. The barometer is about

putting pressure on the ball. Campbell can't put any pressure on,

doesn't go early enough, so just drop off and deal with it. Instead

of moving across and slotting into position, he lets Harry Kane have a

free run at goal. It's a great finish, we know he can put them

away. You can't give good players that kind of space. Koscielny gets

fixated here with Harry Kane, comes in tight. He has to win that ball.

He leaves a great big hole in behind. They are flooding into

areas, Flamini, great block, denies another goal. This is imaginary

line, imagine this is an imaginary line. I'm imagining! There it is

coming you look at the distances, the fullback and the centre-half,

Koscielny again. It's too great. The ball is going to go in there. There

is no pressure on the ball. You can see Harry Kane, he knows where the

danger is. He's going to make a run into that hole. I can't believe he

doesn't see it, doesn't read it. He should be in that position. It's

simple. It should be like an old pair of slippers, just move across.

He doesn't get there, Harry Kane should do better. This set piece

infuriates you? This needs to be tidy and a lot better for Arsenal.

It's just a free run here. Look at the Tottenham defender, he makes a

run, he wants to make a straight run. How do you stop him?

Mertesacker should get in that position and threaten him. Koscielny

should get into Dyer's face. All he wants to do is make the straight

run. Look at the two players at the front, near post. If the striker can

see you're back and your number you cannot see him. Their body shape is

all wrong. He makes a straight run. There are two Tottenham players and

nine Arsenal defenders in the box. Nobody is talking, no one is

communicating and that is far too sloppy. Do you think there's a

problem here in that they didn't have an increased player starting

today? Arsenal. Obviously they did when not Gibbs came on and scored.

It is a problem with communication or understanding what a north London

derby is about? Spurs had a fair few in which men in their side. Or

should it not matter? It shouldn't matter, they are experienced

players. You need someone to be in charge, to dominate, to be on red

alert. It is too passive. They are like mannequins. Get in there, put

your body on the line. They are asking too much of the goalkeeper. I

was speaking to someone in the week, he mentioned yourself and Tony

Adams, Lee Dixon, you made sure that the likes of Patrick Vieira and

Emmanuel Petit knew this was the biggest game of the season and they

were right up for it. Yes, but point the finger, turn them into leaders,

make them generals in there. If you want to win the league you have to

do both sides of the game. It was only their stubbornness today that

kept Arsenal in the game and it was magnificent they did that. There was

an array of injuries but they could have stopped that goal going in.

And now to Villa Park, where Remi Garde is the latest man

It's nearly a quarter of a century since they won the European Cup.

That's the dream. White got? Martin O'Neill has resigned as manager of

Aston Villa. We want to reach the highest played in the league. Gerard

Houllier has stepped down. I am the man for this job. The contract has

been terminated. I have given everything I have got to try to make

it successful. Paul Lambert has been sacked by Aston Villa. Tim Sherwood,

sacked by Aston Villa. I am preparing in a lower division. If we

start to win, things will change, we can do it.

Only five and a half years ago Aston Villa finished in a top points off

the Champions League. It's been a downward cycle of achievement since,

Remi Garde takes up the challenge, his first task is to try to stop the

Premier League's top scorers. The new Villa manager's first-team

selection shows six changes from their defeat at Spurs including four

players who last season were playing in League One in France, Captain

Micah Richards returns from suspension to face his former club

and there is start for Carlos Heal, Grealish and Lescott are among those

is docked to the bench. More straightforward for Manchester City

after their impressive victory in Spain in the week. Kevin De Bruyne

for Jesus Navas is the only change. Fabian Delph's burst returned to

Villa Park is as a substitute. Silva and Aguero are still missing.

Brad Guzan managed to deal with it. That almost came to his surprise.

Manchester City corner. Kolarov to take it. It is bending dangerously,

and it came back to Fernando, and he couldn't find the target. A tricky

moment favela, Fernando snatched at it, right across the face of goal.

They are all too aware of their previous defensive frailties.

Sagna. Wilfried Bony had a rare touch there. And he looked to have

pulled his hamstring in stretching for that ball. Sinclair stopped by

WHISTLE After seven straight Premier League

defeats, Remi Garde's team have become the second this season to

stop Manchester City, much to the frustration of Manuel Pellegrini. I

can be very happy today. The performance of my team, they worked

very hard for the team. They were happy at the end, so I saw some

smiles on their face, which is brilliant. Disappointed about the

draw, because I think we led the game, we dominated, we had

possession. We had three or four very clear chances to score, and we

didn't. But I think we did ball to win the game. What was the new

manager like? His demeanour on the side of the pitch, in the dressing

room, in the training pitch, I don't think he has lost it yet in terms of

having a go at anyone, but we knew at half-time the job was only half

tonne, we had to find a way to battle and we did. I said this week

that I understand that they are very sad, everybody is disappointed from

the results until now, but when you play with sadness, it doesn't help

you, so we need to gain more confidence. I tried on the training

sessions we had to give my message, and I think that today it was quite

I felt like Alan Hutton was one of their star performers today. He

body on the line in the second half. You know you will come up against it

with Manchester City, but that epitomised the mentality, knowing

they are great to be up for it. They seriously rode their luck. Man City

don't miss three chances within the six yard box. That first one of Brad

Guzan's head. This one from Kevin de Bruyne, they have all been going in

when he tries to be clever, and that one didn't pay off. And this one at

the end of the game, Iheanacho crosses for Fernando, and when it

eventually comes out of Fabian Delph, if that had gone in, I can

only imagine. Pellegrini says, sometimes these things happen, you

don't take your chances. Absolutely. Tell me what you had done in this

situation. Martin? I don't understand why Joe Hart is trying to

get into the way of that, because Gestede has nowhere else to throw

it. But for Gestede to take the corner from there, that is right. It

should be a contested goal kick. N'Zogbia was injured, they gave them

the ball back, and that wouldn't sit right if it ended up in the back of

the net. But Joe Hart wanted it at his feet, he should have left it to

go out for a goal kick. So in that situation, if you had taken the

corner, you would have kicked it out for a goal kick? The referee might

have made a decision. But would you have kicked it out? I never took

corners. I know, but that isn't the point of this discussion. What you

have done? I would have taken the corner. I have tried to give you the

ball back, it was Joe Hart that took it upon himself to try to stop it

going out. He could have thrown it more gently towards him. I think

maybe the referee could have stepped in.
