In the next 45 minutes we've got a London derby,

all of Saturday's action, and take a trip to Newcastle in the company

of Trevor Sinclair and one of the Premier League's superb stoppers.

Its Tottenham's third-best start to a season in terms of points. Spurs

finish fourth. Harry Kane. Only Bournemouth have covered more ground

than Spurs. They have made more tackles than any other side in the

league this season. With more points is West Ham's best -- it's their

best ever total after 12 games in the season. One of four of their six

Premier League away matches this season, only Manchester United have

been more ruthless in front of goal. Forget the facts and figures, few

For Hugo Lloris, I'm sure that was particularly pointman. Here at

Wembley he thanked the English people for their support. West Ham

United have had some excellent results on the road. Manchester

City, Liverpool and Arsenal, the last couple of visits to White Hart

Lane they've not done too badly either. It's a tight opening of this

London derby so far at White Hart Lane. Dyer from long range. -- Dier

from long range. It goes short to Alex Song. Dembele, can't get the

angle for a shot on goal but Eriksen can and produces a flying save from

Adrian. The first time either goalkeeper has been tested, 20

minutes in. They were patient. Eriksen with the opening, a good

save by Adrian and certainly offering encouragement on a cold

afternoon in north London to the faithful at White Hart Lane. Dier,

both full-backs are pushed quite high up the pitch. It gives the

licence for the other attacking players the going field. At the

minute, West Ham United with the effort just of Eriksen, have done

well to curb Tottenham. Just a little bit behind him, might fall

the Harry Kane. And Harry Kane lashes the ball in! Tottenham lead

and Harry Kane continues his fine scoring form, and for the first time

in his Spurs career he has scored in a fifth consecutive game. Just a

little bit behind Alli in the first instance, but Harry Kane only had

one thing on his mind as he was able to turn and fire home. It is his

11th goal in 14 London derbies. He is the top dog in the capital and

its his name that reverberates around White Hart Lane. He's a man

spoiled for choice at the moment. It's a pity he has to wait until

March for his next game when you consider the of Jamie Vardy and

Harry Kane at the moment. Kane, his seventh goal in his last five games.

The lay-off to Noble takes a deflection. Off the bar from

Kouyate. There is annoyance in the Spurs supporters. West Ham United

almost level within a matter of minutes. A sweet little lay-off.

Kouyate was offside as well. There would have been uproar, had that

goal actually gone in. Because the flight had stayed down on this

nearside. But certainly from a neutral's point of view, after what

had been a tactical opening 20 minutes, the game has sprung to life

with action at both ends. Kane has drifted to the edge of the D. Here

is the South Korean. The ball has gone behind for a corner kick.

Eriksen with the corner. All the real world with a header. Tottenham

increased their advantage -- Alderweireld with a header. Stop,

start, made the run to guide the header in past Adrian's near post.

Nobody had picked up the run of Alderweireld for his second goal of

the season. Clattered into the back of the net. Slaven Bilic may well

question his defenders. Alderweireld will just soak up the plaudits and

the applause as Tottenham double their lead. West Ham United, I'm

sure, will be just like to get towards half-time without conceding

any further goals, but Spurs are coming forward once more with

Eriksen. Kane is making the run. Beaten away by Adrian, off the bar.

Almost a third! By Dele Alli. It was excellent movement by the Tottenham

players. There was the run by Kane to create, it was an excellent saves

by Adrian but the alertness of Dele Alli on the follow-up, it was very

unfortunate. Lanzini on the stretch. Here is

Kane. A break towards Harry Kane. He is in on goal again... Oh, he has

pulled it, badly wide. He knows that was a golden opportunity. In his

current form, you would have expected Harry Kane to have hit the

target. His actions say at all. It's nearly three years since West Ham

United actually came from behind after a half-time deficit to claim

all three points. Slaven Bilic knows his side have an awful lot of work

to do. And interception from Noble. That will go in favour of Tottenham.

It was a good interception from Noble. With Eriksen to take this

free kick, West Ham United must be wary of Spurs adding a third. A

delicious ball in, headed away by Carroll. Kane with the acrobatics,

Adrian will have seen that late. Didn't have enough power on it

really, though trouble the Spanish goalkeeper. That was sloppy.

Kane, he will make West Ham United pay and Harry Kane returns with a

chance, his second of the game. Tottenham's third. You would have to

say all three points in the bag. Tomkins punished. Sloppy all out of

defence. Adrian could have done better maybe, it was low, it was

firm and Harry Kane with his ninth goal of the season. And the conceded

goal in that manner so early in the second half, it was so evident, what

he said twist players at half-time. The worrying thing is for West Ham

United is that there's still a long way to go the second half. And this

is a hungry Tottenham side, who almost got a fourth. Not once, but

twice. There's simply no letup. Adrian got that one away and

certainly had to be quickly back onto his feet to keep out the effort

from Eriksen. The spares German, no love -- the Spurs chairman, no love

lost, the two clubs have clashed over the Olympic Stadium, the

Olympic spirit is not shared by the two neighbours, split by six and a

half miles. Back in the arms of Adrian. I swell was fortunate, Mason

unable to take advantage. -- Cresswell was unfortunate.

Mason has made the run. Walker coming forward, as he has done

throughout the afternoon. Back with Walker, what a fine go! What a fine

goal by Tottenham. Kyle Walker marks his 250th appearance of his club

consolation for West Ham United? Yes, he can, a fine finish by

Lanzini. If it remains in the West Ham United end, they do indeed have

the consolation. It was Walker's mistake that letting Jelavic.

Lanzini coming into the picture and although Walker got back onside,

rifled the ball into the roof of the net. Lanzini with his fifth goal of

the season, but it makes little difference to the overall outcome.

He leaves it for Eriksen. Mason from long range. Adrian was beaten, saved

only by the post. Mason when he received that all had only one thing

on his mind, the ball was going away from Adrian. A heavy defeat for

Slaven Bilic but it could have been much worse. The performance matches

the result, to be fair. They were better than us. From the first goal

lifted them. We went on a little bit of shock. Really pleased, a good

performance from the players. The show was fantastic, amazing and

therefore I feel very proud. It's always good to get one over your

rivals and to come up on the scoresheet was even better. My

little boy was mascot today so it meant a bit more because he was

there. I blew a kiss to him. They were more 18, especially physically

full stop we knew they were good with ball and all that but

physically they were quicker and stronger and in one in one

situations there were better in transitions. The most important

thing is the players believe in the way we play and we shared the

philosophy today and this is our biggest step forward. There is no

higher team, that's what we show, Whee Kim, that we work for each

other. If you know your team-mates are behind you and they are going to

stick up for you in every situation it's always good to go out on the

pitch with them -- week in and week out. Kyle Walker says they were

sticking up for each other, they were very impressive? They were,

they pressed high, pressed all over the pitch and had an impact. They

were good value for their win. They were physical and in front of goal

they were clinical as well. They fully deserved to win. Maybe not

wearing claret and blue. OK! Listen, we've seen Spurs a lot on Sundays

and quite often praise Christian Eriksen, who was fantastic again

today. But you want to praise someone else?

He was a thorn in their side all day. He caused them problems all the

time. Getting side on, bringing a Spurs player into the game. All of a

sudden, a great finish from Harry Kane. Looking to run in behind. He

has the brains. Brilliant play, great awareness, and such

confidence. He has been out for two months, but his composure, use him

as a decoy. A good save from Adrian. He has got the other side to his

game. Mauricio Pochettino insists on that, winning the ball back and

joining in again. One against one with Victor Moses, stays on his

feet, and muscles in. For the time he has been out, that awareness to

pick out Kyle Walker, look at the eyes, brilliant. The weight of pass,

it creates the opportunity for Kyle Walker to finish. He was very happy

to finish, because his son was in the crowd. A standing ovation for

Hume Meson. We see lots of analysis of the press and how it works. What

I am more interested in is how you can count it, because there must be

some way of doing it. I cannot understand why teams keep getting

done, if you have too many players putting pressure on, you have to

miss a line out, go into the striker. You cannot keep on losing

possession in your final third, because you will concede goals.

Let's look at some examples. A great opportunity, to look into the feet

of Manuel Lanzini, or you have Andy Carroll, play off him. Instead, look

at the Tottenham players, it is too tight. Carl Jenkinson says, thanks

for that. He has no chance. A chance to clear it, instead, he passes,

behind Winston Reid. You get out the first press, so use your brain. An

opportunity after being under pressure to put it in behind,

attended events. Instead, they pass. They lose the ball again. Time and

time again. A dead ball situation, you can do anything. They choose to

play short again. Look at the Spurs players straightaway on the front

foot. Get your right back on his front foot and get into the final

third. No, we start again. Now Tottenham believe they can get the

ball back. They are pretty much in trouble. Last-minute, we will like

it. This was the best move they had all day, Andy Carroll wins the

header, they have the ball in a great position, and they are running

at the Spurs defence. As a keeper, you are looking for your wingers to

be sprinting into those areas. It is a bit slow, they are not looking for

it. Second phase, you want to play out from the back. The centre halves

split, and now you are under pressure again. You are thinking,

hit that area, be safe. You do not win too much by passing it in

midfield because you are open at the back, you are under pressure, and it

is in the back of the net. You are not saying that every single time,

hit the long ball, but if you give it once every two or three times, it

creates doubt for the team that is pressing? Andy Carroll is not

mobile, it helps if you have speed. I would like to see the Afro Psycho

up there, all of a sudden you do not want the defence to squeeze too

high. With Andy Carroll, they are high up. If they are squeezing high,

turned them a couple of times, they will not squeeze so much. In

general, in modern football, there is a reluctance to hit a long ball,

because it is not what is alone do. -- Barcelona do. Position based

football, you have to play through the press, these things. It is

difficult to do, you have to hit the form on the day to do that. First

and foremost, it is using your intelligence, and not putting

yourself under pressure. When you have a player like Andy Carroll, use

his strengths, holding the ball up. He is the best in the league at

that. Use it, instead of putting yourself under pressure. The

difference between out swingers and in swinging corner is? When you have

a player like Andy Carroll, use his strengths, if you have a corner that

swings out, they will be marking him, he will be under pressure, so

you need a clean connection to score. Especially being a goalkeeper

like Hugo Lloris. It is difficult to do with that many players around

you. This is what West Ham should do with Andy Carroll. All you have to

do is get a slight touch on it and the power is already on the ball.

Andy Carroll is to square, he does not know what is around them what is

coming in on his shoulder. He can possibly make a better challenge. If

Alan Shearer is watching, he will be pleased you have done body position

on defending corners. Next in our journey to every Premier

League team across the season, we're off to Newcastle, as they took

on Kasper's Leicester City. My name is Richard Forster, the tour

guide at St James Park, thoroughly enjoy it, it is a great privilege

for me to give people some of my enthusiasm and knowledge of

Newcastle United. Before I start the tour, I like to know where people

are from. I do Leicester City fans? No parachutes for you on level

seven! We head straight into the home team

dressing room, where the kit is laid out. We go pitch side, we get a

sample of what it is like. The kick to this end in the first

half. We kick this end in the second half, that is tradition. My first

game was in 1959, I was 11, I can always remember seeing the stadium

for the first time, and from that day, hooked on this football club.

I have been coming here ever since. The passion in the city is immense,

people go to work on Monday morning, if Newcastle have got three points,

their working environment was better. The greatest player I have

seen in black and white for his consistency and liens boss Peter

Beardsley. Peter Beardsley still. Magnificent,

what a great goal! One of the big pluses about

supporting this team is the number nine shirt. Malcolm MacDonald, Andy

Cole, Alan Shearer, hopefully a new number nine will be born at St James

Park this season. I am fully confident that he will become a firm

favourite in this football club. In the close season we appointed Steve

McClaren. We have had a mixed start, but I am fully confident that he and

the staff will get this club right and we will start going up the

table. Jamie Vardy brings the save from Rob

Elliott. Dear me!

He has scored! It is the Premier League record equalling goal, ten

games in a row. It means that Leicester City lead Newcastle United

1-0. It has been an uninspiring performance from Newcastle so far.

He cannot turn it home. The ball smacks off the frame of the

goal. Wave after wave of blue shirts piling forward. Newcastle are rocked

back on their heels, it is 2-0. Unbelievable.

Leicester City have been knocking on the door, what an easy finish, look

at the space for Leonardo Ulloa. He stood waiting for it. A good save by

Rob Elliott. Finally, over the line, for a third goal, from Shinji

Okazaki. Mark Albright and with the ball back in, Shinji Okazaki missed

his jump in the first place, but he has the final touch. Suddenly, a

rush to the exits. That is the end of the game,

Newcastle very disappointing, Leicester City dominated. I would

like to congratulate Jamie Vardy for equalling the record. This puts

pressure on getting three points next Saturday at Crystal Palace.

Given how you've finished last season, has a great deal changed? We

have had a managerial change, but the backroom staff are still the

same and the way we do things is still the same. We have carried on,

and the momentum has been massive. We have found a way of winning games

in the Premier League last season, and we have had the benefit of a

season under our belts and the experience that has brought. Does

the manager deserved credit? For not changing too much? That is a massive

thing, when you come into a club, it is one thing when things are not

working, it is another when things were going OK. We had had a good end

to the season. The temptation is to bring your own people in and start

changing the way things are done. There was a meeting early doors

where we said, have a look, we have got a way that we have been going,

all credit to him, he has kept a lot of that the same. We have reaped the

rewards. That does not happen too often, does it? If you have got a

good manager, why not? He has gone in and he respects the players, he

saw what they did and thought, I will listen to them. He is getting

the rewards. Did Nigel Pearson get unfair stick? The Nigel Pearson that

the outside world saw and the one that we saw were very different

people. He was very much a player 's' manager, he had been a player,

he knew what it was like, and he involved the players, he was a good

man manager. You are going to judge him from what you see on the

outside, but for us he was completely different. What kind of

lift does it give you as a squad to have one player in Jamie Vardy in

such great form, and also Riyad Mahrez? They are going to grab the

headlines, and deservedly so, Jamie has been on fire, there are no two

ways about it. We have other players, Jeffrey

Schlupp, assisting him. His game is based on hard work, first and

foremost, he has incredible talent. His finishing is phenomenal, but it

all comes from himself, he works so hard to get into positions, he

deserves everything he gets. It is hard to say, it is a full team

effort. It is not just the players on the pitch, it is those on the

bench, people not making the squad, it is the way we drive ourselves on

in training every day. He is going to take a lot of the plaudits, and

it is fully deserved. He got a standing ovation from the Newcastle

fans. They had not had a nice afternoon, it was a nice touch. From

speaking to others around the world, it is the thing about English

football, they might have lost 3-0, but the fans are still applauding an

opposition player. And a little teaser for you -

loves playing against Manchester City. It's the fourth time he has

scored against them for Liverpool and that fourth goal for Liverpool

today ensures all three points. Cold writing it's a goal, it's

Giroud. That's his ninth goal, and he's only started 11 games, but he

is an out and out finisher. There's no doubt about that. It's West

Bromwich Albion nil, Arsenal one. Chris Brunt will take the free kick

for West Bromwich Albion. Olsson is forward, but it's gone beyond him

and it's gone in. It's James Morrison who has equalised for the

Albion. A good free kick by Chris Brunt, and Morrison on the end of

it. Arsenal didn't pick him up. Rondon is away here for West

Bromwich Albion. He's got Koscielny to beat. McClean is making ground

from the left-hand side. It's gone in! Off on Arsenal defender, I

think, maybe Arteta. It's 2-1 Albion. Arteta will have to take the

unwanted credit, and they've come from behind to lead 2-1, which is a

bit of a rarity for West Brom. It's a penalty, given out of nothing,

really. It's Chris Brunt, I think, on Sanchez. That didn't seem to be

going anywhere, that attack, but Mark Clattenburg has seen that. It's

Lukaku. Deulofeu, opportunities here. Barkley, 1-0. Nicely worked

goal, Aston Villa and picked by some very neat Everton Football Club --

undone. Deulofeu goes with a decent save, but Barkley couldn't miss it

and Everton deservedly lead. Deulofeu has the beating of

Richardson on toast every time. Lamela Lukaku helps himself to

was getting messier and messier until Ross Barkley arrived to tidy

up and clean up with Everton's third. This game is barely a

contest. Kone managed to dig it out from under goes on and Barkley

Spurs and the youngsters Pochettino is brought through and shown faith

in, do you show Martin is the same credit? You have got to, look at

Galloway, he is playing week in, week out, putting in great

performances. It will be a tsunami of encouragement for him. He's

playing week in, week out, you can't beat that as a young player. You

look at Lukaku, his build-up play and linkup play has been much better

and he is getting the goals as well. You forget Lukaku is 22, don't you?

He's a phenomenal talent and the fact you call him a talent, he's

been around for a while now and alike Trevor says, his linkup play

is getting really good and his finishing as well. He's a top, top

player. Is the Whee Kim, week out, the regular football, which you

could argue for Ross Barkley as well. Yes, is huge, good management

to come out of the frame for a while so he could regain the confidence

but this season he looks fitter. He got two goals yesterday. He is in

amongst it all the time. If you have that, you can sniff it out, he will

get his goals. 5 Live has commentary of

Crystal Palace against Sunderland on Monday night as part of the Monday

Night Club - mentioned only because Steve Claridge always whinges
