Hello, a bumper four games on MOTD2 to bring you tonight.

So there should be plenty for Ruud Gullit and Danny Murphy to get

They travelled to Norwich, knowing a win could take them back

It is a well worn football idea that Norwich is a difficult place to come

but not for Arsenal after a flight that lasted all of 14 minutes, and a

record that shows just one defeat in 14 visits since 1984. Norwich's

results this season have taken a turn for the worse with five defeats

in their last six games. In a bid to find the right balance, game by

game, manager Alex Neil has made three changes to the team today.

Replacing Youssouf Mulumbu, Nathan Redmond and Mbokani are Graham

Dorrans, Hoolahan and Lewis Grabban who get his first start since the

opening day. For Arsenal, only one change to the side that beat Dinamo

Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday, Campbell drops back to the

benches Aaron Ramsey returns for his first Premier League appearance

since he scored at Watford in mid-October. He also scored in both

of their last two games against Norwich. Away we go on a wet and

wild Norfolk Sunday afternoon. Norwich's recent poor form makes you

think it might be an ill wind which blows their way as we get into the

winter chill period of the season. Sanchez fires, his first shot was

always wide of John Ruddy's goal, though nice touch to teach himself

up and had the chance to turn. John Ruddy was never really that

concerned. Alexis Sanchez. The problem for

Laurent Koscielny. Monreal has put the ball out. The Frenchman can

receive some treatment. That is where he picked up the injury. That

looks like a real problem for Koscielny. That would in turn mean a

big problem for him. No, that is it. The change will happen. A blow for

Arsenal. Before ten minutes of the game have been played. Hoolahan one

double in the end, only for Norwich to give it straight back to the

Gunners. -- won the ball. Santi Cazorla finding Mesut Ozil. Sanchez.

Monreal. Hold back! Mesut Ozil with a rather lazy stroke of the boot. It

might have been going wide but Basson could not take the chance. --

Bassong. A nice Arsenal move and Monreal picked out Mesut Ozil

brilliantly. It is getting worse, if anything, it is getting wetter and

the wind has picked up a good few miles an hour. Alexis Sanchez.

Giroud cannot quite get there in time. Flamini. Thought he was fouled

and I think the referee agreed but played a really good advantage.

Santi Cazorla. Sanchez! To close to John Ruddy. Beaten away. Brilliant

footwork from Santi Cazorla, dancing through the challenges. And a big

thumbs up to the referee, Jon Moss for allowing the game to go on. It

is a chilly day, a day to rub hands, keep them warm, especially when you

are 66. John Ruddy, not the best of clearances, and now Sanchez has

played it to Mesut Ozil, who beats John Ruddy and puts Arsenal in

front! It is a mess of Norwich's own making. It is Mesut Ozil's fourth

goal of the season. It started on the left with a real mix-up between

Bassong and Olsson. Then John Ruddy with a really poor ball out. It is

lazy and languid. Sanchez won it and played it to Mesut Ozil and it is a

fine, fine finish. He is in fine, fine form. What a test for Norwich,

now. Is that a barge? Norwich think so.

Arsenal away. Sanchez, fourth backwards. One for Mesut Ozil to

chase. But the chase is in vain. Oh, dear, that could have been

really nasty. Mesut Ozil goes into the photographers. Just thankful

that it was not one of the camera pits. The end to end nature of the

game is really picking up now. That was on the edge, in fact, it was

inside the Arsenal penalty area, pushed into by Flamini. No real

chance of Flamini getting to the ball so you can see why Norwich

asked. Oh, dear me! That is another one and Alexis Sanchez thinks he was

pushed into the camera pit by Ryan Bennett. That could have been

dangerous for the player and the cameraman. And the equipment. Jon

Moss is trying to placate Sanchez and Ryan Bennett with half an

apology. He does push him. That was unnecessary. It could have been

nasty. Dorrans. Good ball. Neatly collected

by Brady. Gave himself plenty of time and forcing the save from Petr

Cech. He has been bright, Robbie Brady, not just today, all season.

Arsenal used to have a player called Brady who was pretty adept at

curling them in from that kind of position. But that one was too close

to the goalkeeper, down the middle and a nice height as well. O'Neil,

nicely away from Giroud. Arsenal's rhythm has been rocked, here. Maybe

a chance for Grabban! And Norwich City are level. Lewis Grabban grabs

his first goal of the season. Stayed onside. He is in between the two

defenders. It is a nice ball into him. And it is a goal made by Robbie

Brady. Good strength by Grabban. Stand in front of Gabriel, rides out

the challenge and then has the boys to beat the onrushing Petr Cech. --

has the poise. Redemption for John Ruddy and Alex Neil's men are back

in the game. Grabban and Howson in the box. Howson. Wisdom. Fired in!

What a chance missed. Wes Hoolahan came in at just the right time but

could not apply the right touch. Excellent work by Howson, pulling

Gabriel out of the centre of defence and making the space for Wisdom's

Ross, seized across the box. It is just the bounce that made it

difficult for Hoolahan. -- phased across.

Cazorla. Sanchez. Deflected towards Giroud. John Ruddy has missed it but

so has Mesut Ozil! A bit of luck from Sanchez, a Norwich deflection

that nearly took it to Giroud. Mesut Ozil's effort blocked. That is

O'Neil. Howson. Needed Ryan Bennett to use his pace, there. He got there

but only gave it to Monreal. In comes Ramsey. Bassong gets it away

from Giroud. Arsenal with a problem, Sanchez the latest player to hit the

deck and stay there. He is sitting in the Norwich box. Arsenal have the

chance to get it out. They are still not because Santi Cazorla is looking

to feed Giroud and Bassong heads behind and now Sanchez can be

attended to. If that is his right hamstring, is it a poll or is it

impact? It looks as though he has pulled it, Sanchez. Another Arsenal

injury blow. Welbeck has not played all season and Jack Wilshere

likewise is still out. Walcott may be returning. Coppell in missing,

and Arteta and Tomas Rosicky and now Alexis Sanchez, who would be the

biggest blow of all. Dorrans. Olsson, the man outside.

Four yellow and green shirts in the penalty area. Martin Olsson's chip

and it is saved by Petr Cech! A superb stop by the Arsenal

goalkeeper. Excellent Norwich approach work. Was that Gabriel,

back towards his own goal? It was from inadvertently but what a

reaction by Petr Cech. Robbie Brady. Putting another one in towards a

packed penalty area. Petr Cech won't get near that, knocked down! But

over the top. It is Jonny Howson trying to hook it goalwards. Great

header from Bennett, towering at the back post. And another one has

missed the target for Alex Neil's team. Wisdom. Hoolahan. Ran into

Flamini's challenge. Dorrans. Lovely ball from Brady. Olsson! Gabriel

clears. Will Norwich be able to get a better opening than this?

Bellerin letting it run for Campbell, who goes down somewhat

spectacularly. Tethering keeps going. It is not clear yet. Monreal.

Bennett. -- Bellerin keeps going. Oxlade-Chamberlain and now Norwich

get it away but they won't have time to streak down the other end and win

the game because time is up at Carrow Road. What a contest we had

in the end. I think the balance of play was a

bit better. We had more possession of the ball and working it forward,

we created clear opportunities and we are just disappointed we did not

take one of them towards the end and maybe pick up the three points if we

could. I believe we played against a team who were physically heavy, who

defended deep to catch us on the break. We were a bit jaded, not as

sharp as usual. That made it difficult for us. We have done

pretty well here but today, it was quite difficult and it was quite

windy as well. It was difficult to get the ball down at times and play.

But overall, we are disappointed with the result. It has been stop

start, more stop than start so it was nice to get on the scoresheet

today and help the team. Hopefully I can stay in the team and get my

season started. He's been a great player for me since I've been here.

There were a few instances earlier in the season where things were not

quite the way they should have been. But it has been resolved and

fixed. I thought Lewis today showed how good he can be. More injuries

today, how frustrating is that for you? We lost Sanchez, as you know, I

don't know for how long. That is a big blow to us. Apart from that, we

have Santi Cazorla finishing on one leg and Koscielny went out after the

start of the game. We have to see, to assess tomorrow.

We will come onto the injuries in a moment that is your twins starting

to find the right mix? They started a bit slowly and gave Arsenal too

much respect, the minute they got back into the game with the goal

they played with more confidence and energy. Good shape and nice balance.

A much better performance, he will be happy. The star of the show for

me was Robbie Brady. He has always been a talented lad even from his

younger days at Manchester United but he is evolving into a player who

can make a difference in the Premier League in games like this. This was

him on the front foot trying to get his team up the pitch when Arsenal

were putting them under pressure and he can go both ways which I like.

Great left foot,, this was really good player, very difficult for a

defender up against a player who can go both ways. Stays nice and calm

and picks out a great pass. Good finish by Grabban. This was a

wonderful pass, very capable of this. He can play anywhere down the

left side, he can play central in midfield three. His versatility

helps. His desire to get back and help his team help out the left-back

was brilliant throughout the whole game. He was the pick of the bunch

for me. When he decides to get forward he does it with intent. He

did not get the ball, did not get a good pass this time. But the vision

he has, from a central area, you can mix up his play and I think having

players like him adds an extra bit of quality to the team and he

deserved the Man of the Match. Could that be one of the things at times

which has held him back? Is it a drawback sometimes when you're

trying to progress? It can be, because you don't ever get quite

settled. But I like to see him further up the pitch because of his

quality of delivery into the box. Playing a bit higher suits them and

gives them the freedom to express himself. Let's talk Alexis Sanchez

because this has been all over social media and will be all over

the back pages tomorrow, since the FA Cup final he has played 32

games, 12 for his country, 24 Arsenal. He has played 11 of those

12 games for the full 90 minutes. Is that too much football? Eventually

it is. With the travelling as well. When everything is going well it's

not a problem, but I think I heard Arsene Wenger say before the game he

had some tight muscles so he should have said to him, work, stay in

London, relax a little. He is too important for them. I think this

could be a long one. You have two feel it, with your players, because

like I said, any player wants to play all the time, if you play 30

games and play maybe ten without an injury, that is a lot. Most of the

time you have a little muscle problems or ever. You keep on

playing because there are other people waiting for you, hoping you

get injured. Therefore he should have taken him off, I think it's a

mistake. Let me read the quote, I head of this game he did say, this

is Arsene Wenger, it may not be the best moment to rest him, he had a

little hamstring alarm, but we will see, I take information, especially

from medical people. Then after the game today, we checked it, when you

have normal force there is no problem, nobody is scientifically

developed enough to predict when someone will be injured. He declared

he had no problem and felt perfectly all right before the game. The big

problem I think he has is that he did not feel comfortable resting him

because he has too many other injuries. I know it doesn't matter

but when you look at the bench, Oxlade-Chamberlain just got back and

probable it wasn't ready to start, Campbell hasn't done enough to

warrant a place. Theo Walcott is injured, Danny Welbeck is injured, I

think if everybody was that he could rotate more but they rely on him so

much and now they will be without him. If a manager came up to you and

ask if you are fit to play and you said yes what can the manager do?

You should take that decision by yourself, with your staff. I think

because he already played so many games, now you regret it. Every

player wants to play all the time. Like I said, you have a lot of

injuries during the year. You play always with little things and

everything. Of course you know your limits but if I have normal week and

I can rest and things like that, then it is OK. But if I had so many

games played it will be an issue. The problem with Sanchez is he

didn't have a rest. He had two one half weeks off. Copa America in the

summer, how weeks was he really off? Is Arsene Wenger also a victim

of talking about it pre-match so when it happens again you have made

a rod for your own back. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, he will be

wishing he hadn't said it's because he will be jumped upon.

Next to White Hart Lane, with Chelsea going there

in search of revenge after being on the wrong end of last season's

Diego Costa, Chelsea are ahead! What a cracking equaliser! Taney rose!

Penalty! What I call! -- what a goal! Sheer joy. Tottenham Hotspur

5-3 Chelsea. COMMENTATOR: If the scoreline last

season was a shock the same again today would be anything but. Spurs

are on the crest of a wave whilst Chelsea hope their own green shoots

of recovery are not trampled underfoot. One change to the side

which beat West Ham, Ryan Mason replacing the suspended Dele Alli.

Eight of the 11 starting today did so on Thursday night in Azerbaijan.

The big news for Chelsea is that Diego Costa has been dropped to the

bench and he plays without a recognised striker. John Terry

misses out through injury. Azpilicueta also returns at

left-back having sat on the bench for last weekend 's victory over

Norwich. This match of course rekindling memories of last season,

the Capital One cup final, the win enjoyed by Chelsea supporters.

Tottenham fans would no doubt prefer to remember at the match at White

Hart Lane on New Year's Day, a 5-3 victory, only the second time a team

managed by Mourinho conceded five goals in a game. The other was Real

Madrid when they were beaten 5-0 by Barcelona five years ago. Tottenham

looking to get on the front foot quickly in the opening exchanges.

Here is Kyle Walker. Time to pick his spot with the cross. Of the head

of Matic, only as far as Dembele. Eden Hazard back for Chelsea.

Dembele supported by Danny Rose and Harry Kane almost in. Begovic at

full stretch with just under three minutes on the watch. I think he was

caught by Kane as they both went for the ball. Gary Cahill and Kane, both

of whom I think collided with Asmir Begovic, perhaps more Gary Cahill.

The goalkeeper on the bench is Marco Amelia who was unattached, signed

earlier this season, 33 years old now, the Italian. It appears as

though Asmir Begovic will be OK. But feeling a bit groggy. Mauricio

Pochettino keeping faith with the majority of players who travelled to

Qarabag. The shot from Kane blocked by Ivanovic. Christian Eriksen. Kane

loitering in the far post area. A touch too delicate from Son.

Willian. The chase is on for Pedro. Quickly seen and swiftly dealt with

by Hugo Lloris. So that one coming and was quick to do something about

it. Look at the pace from Pedro, onside as the ball is played

forward. Chelsea looking to start to improve what has been a pretty

woeful record on the road so far, just one win away from Stamford

Bridge back in August against West Brom. And a draw at Newcastle. That

is it. Only four points on the road. Only Aston Villa are worse

than that with three. Straight into Vertonghen who continues his run

forward, Christian Eriksen took too long and possession but Kane brings

the save. Not sure if that one was spinning and moving in the air.

shot in. First shot on target here at West Hart Lane. Very blustery --

White Hart Lane. Oscar. Covered by Kyle Walker. Over the top of the

crossbar from Hazard. First real sighting of goal for Chelsea, 20

minutes in. Hazard who scored home and away against Tottenham last

season puts it over the top. Oscar with the delivery but Hazard not

picked up as he raced into the penalty area. Oscar. Didn't quite

fault to Willian. Matic. Willian moving back onto an onside position

and Hazard is onside. Azpilicueta outside him, Pedro fancies this.

Viciously struck. Chelsea finding their feet in this game as we reach

the midway point of the first half. Tottenham having made a bright start

have not really created very much. Chelsea coming into the game far

more the longer the half has gone on. Kane will look to be the

provider. To the far post, great ball. Saved by Begovic. Laser-like

accuracy with the cross from Kane, the best we have seen from Tottenham

for quite a while. Second effort on goal. But in 's best effort so far.

Might open up here for Mousa Dembele, away from Fabregas,

bringing the save from Begovic. Dembele suddenly saw an opportunity.

His goal bound shot turned wide. Begovic at. Richard -- Begovic at

full stretch. Kane with support from Christian Eriksen on the near side.

Two inside the box, three now including Danny Rose.

Son, still going. That was a lovely passage of play from Tottenham. All

that was missing was the finishing touch to beat Begovic. Lovely piece

of improvisation. Begovic able to make the save. Chelsea looking to

make the breakthrough. Fabregas, Ivanovic. Towards Pedro, Eden Hazard

with the shot, excellent save by Hugo Lloris. The ball played in by

Branislav Ivanovic, hit first time by Hazard, superb save by the

Tottenham goalkeeper. Diego Costa who scored the only goal of the

match last weekend against Norwich. No sign of any immediate arrival.

Willian just nudged by Harry Kane. Nothing more than that, and Fabregas

trying to get the free kick taken early, playing it off his own

team-mate. I think it was just a nudge from Harry Kane, just ran into

him. Now Fabregas, away to Azpilicueta. Pedro will chase, other

well held makes a hash of it, does not quite fault for Oscar. Oscar

tries to flick it between his own feet and it is away by Dembele.

Tottenham for a moment were skating on thin ice inside their own penalty

area. Alber felled looked like he had it covered then it almost

suddenly opened up again -- Al Burberry

SPA is inching towards a clean sheet that they have not been able to

force a breakthrough -- Spurs. The next change for Chelsea, Pedro the

player being replaced. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, the 19-year-old

England U21 international who started against Aston Villa and came

off the bench against Crystal Palace. He will do well to get a

touch of the ball before the final whistle actually. Diego Costa

flicking his warm up bib away, not a happy afternoon for him. I imagine

you'll be quite happy with that, it looked like a good point? More than

a good point, I am happy with the performance and with the team. I

think collectively the best Chelsea of the season. We defended very,

very well against a very dangerous team. Because the players did

everything to try and interpret my defensive ideas for the game. But

the team as a team played well. We deserve more than a point. I think

our first half was much better than Chelsea. It was one team that

deserved the victory. We are the team that deserved. But I think I am

pleased for the players, for the massive effort and for me they are a

hero after a very tough week. The way that we play, the maturity that

we showed today made me proud for them. Collectively the team was

better than ever. I am not really happy with the point that I am happy

with the team, the team is back, we have five matches in December that

can bring us a little bit closer to what our position has to be. You let

Diego Costa out today, what does he need to show to get back in? If you

watch the game with some attention from the bench I think he knows what

we need from him. Diego Costa, firstly, who did not

appear to the pre-match warm up having been left on the bench.

Firstly, as a player and a team-mate, would it bother you? Yes.

I would like to think I would be able to persuade them not to do

that, if it is a show of dissent or frustration, just have a quiet word

in their ear. We don't know that for sure but it looks that way. I think

it could cause a problem for the other players. As a manager would it

bother you? Would it bother you if you had a bib flicked in your

direction? You know that players are frustrated if they don't play. He

was there, doing the warm up all the time to get in but eventually he did

not get in and this is what he did. In a way, it is funny. John Obi

Mikel thinks it is hilarious! You think to yourself, "what are you

doing now? All the attention you already get and cameras everywhere"

. Everyone has seen it. I think it is going to become a problem if he

keeps behaving like this. We don't know for sure. It was also said that

maybe the thing was because of the cameras. It could be, we don't know

but if he didn't do it, it is going to be a problem into the locker room

of the other players. It is a team sport. You need to do it all

together. They need each other. You have not played that well. You have

been in the news for the wrong reasons and not because you are

scoring goals. You are a good goal-scorer and we need you. This is

the way that Marini tried to get on track. You would like the dressing

room to. -- to talk about him. Maggie Lieu if he did not do the

warm up because he did not want to. Let's talk about Eden Hazard. He

played in the number nine role which was a bit of a shock but did he do

everything you expect from him? Yes, his quality and application

were top notch today. He is not known for his back post header so he

is allowed to miss that one but he was always threatening in behind and

his touch is always top notch. He looked sharp, a good pass for Pedro

but what I like best is, look now, he should not be anticipating this,

if it goes off the keeper or ahead of the centre halves but he is

thinking like a striker because he's been asked play that role that the

team. Again, laying the ball off, trying to get behind and create

problems for the Tottenham back four. Whether he wants to do this or

not, I'm not sure but he tried his hardest to make it happen. Again,

good footwork. I like the fact he gives the ball away and goes after

it and tries to help out the team to correct his mistake. He is trying to

prove a point to the manager that he should be in the team and he is the

best player because he was last season and carried them at times. He

pops up on the right, goes into the middle, a good pass out wide and

again, he's trying to get into the box. This ball should go in the box

instead of Square, really. As a manager, all you can do is put your

team out there and expect the players to try to play the roles you

have given them. He nearly get his reward. Brilliant left foot volley

and a great save from Lloris. He was asked to play a role today and did

everything he could. He was the best player on the pitch. The only thing

missing was a goal. And yet proving the point to the

manager which is what you said partly through workrate and work

ethic you think he should not be doing as much? No, he worked too

hard! I want him to be sharp in front of goal. And here, this is the

sign. He kicks the ball and he thinks, head is down because he

still has to run forward. This is a sign of a player like, "oh, no, I

have to run again". All players know that when you put your head down

like that, it is like this. He is as important as Ronaldo is to Real

Madrid come as important as Messi for Barcelona. You don't want these

players to chase back so much because they save energy for the

right moment. Of course, he did it to prove a point but to get the best

out of him, I don't want into chase that much. I wanted to concentrate

on when the team gets the ball. They have to give him the ball as quick

as possible and then he can do his thing. When that is coming back, I

think he's going to get goals again. But it is a good example, also for

Diego Costa, to say, "look, this is what you can do as well and if you

don't, you were going to sit on the bench".

Looking at Spurs, the distance they covered in this game, it is up there

with some of their least of the season alongside the game against

Leicester. Harry Kane afterwards that it was a tough week and did not

feel they had the same energy as usual. You can discuss the effect of

the Europa League lots and people do and Thursday and Sunday and all of

that. Do you also think a lunchtime kick-off, oddly, had an effect? I

think that's a great point. We used to play at 11:30am sometimes against

Leeds or Manchester United when I played for Liverpool. It was a

completely different feeling. It is not just a physical thing, it is

also the supporters, some of them getting out of bed straightaway and

rushing to the game, they have not had the chance to have a drink... Or

two or three. As a player can you are having a pre-match meal at a

strange hour. No breakfast! Yes, straight into the pre-match meal but

that is mixed with the trip, he played eight of the ones who played

on Thursday which I thought was maybe the wrong thing to do. Is it a

bit of both, coming back from Azerbaijan and the midday kick-off?

It is. I remember in my days with Milan, we came back straight after

the game but we had our own place, where we had rooms and everything,

so we slept at the training ground and the next day, you woke up at

10am, and training was at 11:30am, a little bit of running and massage

and things and you were OK. In my day, we did not play so many games

in the Champions League. Now you have the knockout stages and the

group stages. We did not have that. But I thought it was important to

come back immediately. Of course, it depends on the team but for us, it

was excellent. Saying that, Tottenham, even when they were

tired, were well organised, disciplined, good communication on

the pitch, still looked a solid unit and that is credit to them.

West Ham are without a win in three after defeat at Tottenham

They welcome a West Brom side who beat the other team from

Today they meet in East London. John Roder watched this one.

Six of the last nine Premier League matches between West Ham and West

Brom have ended in draws. Both sides hampered by suspensions today.

Captain Mark Noble is absent for the Hammers. Chris Brunt is unavailable

for the visitors as these teams meet for the 100th time in total. Andy

Carroll and James Tomkins drop to the bench as Slaven Bilic to make

three changes, Zarate replaces Carroll, Obiang is in for the band

Noble and Ogbonna is preferred to Tomkins at the back. Harris McCauley

returns after suspension, a slight surprise that Jonny Evans will

switch to full-back and West Brom have three strikers on the bench

should they be needed, Buratino, Lambert and Anichebe. -- Saido

Berahino. Tony Pulis was he as an interested spectator on New Year's

Day the last time the teams met. He was to be appointed as West Brom

manager the following day. Sakho. Might have to go all the way on his

an earlier pass. When it was delivered to the Argentine, it did

How close was he? Just curling away from the West Ham goal. Obiang.

execution. Boaz Myhill is serious. -- furious but it was a wonderful

strike from Zarate. He had taken his time, sizing up the situation. Right

West Brom a touch fortunate, there. Yacob under a bit of pressure,

concede possession and look at the way the ball moves in the air but

they were playing long balls up to him but with no quality. I don't

know what he supposed to do. The quality was really poor and Tony

Pulis was honest enough to say they were lucky to go inside only one

down. You could see the body language change in the second half

of Rondon, he had Rickie Lambert next to him, someday up there

fighting and trying to win battles with you. The midfield got closer to

them, they became more confident to take a risk and step up the pitch a

bit. Inevitably they start making more chances. One of Lambert's first

contributions ends up in the equaliser. It's good build-up play

which gets West Ham on the back foot. Yes they get some fortune, I

agree with Ruud, it was going wide, but it gave them the foundation to

go and dominate for long periods and they could have won in the end.

Suddenly the centre-half 's are in a real battle, two men in the box they

should be the winner, not sure how he misses. But it's so much easier

for the back players and midfield players, if you are going to play

long balls, and there is nothing wrong with long balls if they have

good quality to them. You have the two strikers linking up and you are

in the box within three or four seconds and the most won it again.

Good management from Tony Pulis to recognise the problem. But they

could have lost the game in the first half, there was no game, West

Ham were all over them. In the second half with that change all of

a sudden you get more confident, he scored a lucky goal and I think they

are right, that was the turning point. All of a sudden they see all

my God, we have worked so hard and it is still 1-1. So West Ham were

disappointed. Then they were pushing up, pushing up, long balls as you

can see. Long ball is not a bad game, it can be the right strategy

against a team which is not as powerful in the defence. Are

managers, I am not saying Tony Pulis, caught up between saying two

upfront is to attacking, but it holds the ball up and gives your

midfielders respite? I have not been a manager, but it is easy with

hindsight to say today I should have done it, but I think West Ham, other

than a couple of recent results have been strong in attack. They have

creative players and you could see that in the first half with Lanzini

exit jarrah. I think maybe they thought we will respect them, stay

in the game. They still have plenty of attacking players, they had a

busy transfer window, there was no Mark Noble, Dimitri Payet is out for

a while, Sakho got injured. He will have to use the squad and get the

momentum going. Of course, but they had the game in hand. I think the

lucky goal was the turning point for the whole game. Sometimes it

happens. Of course you can be disappointed about it but I think

they have done already quite well this season and will get more

points. Garry Monk's Swansea travel to

Anfield with just one win in nine. "Pressure" isn't a word Jurgen Klopp

knows the meaning of just yet. Benteke takes his time. The future

disciplined is finally broken courtesy of a penalty. This is

certainly a nice, tidy penalty from James Milner and Liverpool have the

it is Milner which tussles with them him and I think Garry Monk thinks he

was pulled to the floor. To get result in a row, you have to

fight and that is what the lads did. I am proud because after the

Thursday game, yeah, the kind of will, so, good, a good result,

perfectly sound, a normal football game under difficult circumstances.

Gutted for the players today because they were excellent, excellent

performance. Toulouse on a decision which is out of our control and lose

the game in that way on a very soft penalty, in our opinion. Do you feel

that the element of deliberate handball seems to have evaporated?

For sure. I thought penalties had to be deliberate. His back is turned

and he has no idea. It is his elbow, I think. You can't put your elbow

attacking, it's the kind of penalty you appeal for but if you are

defending, you are aggrieved if it is given against you? You shouldn't

be jumping with your back to the ball and your arms that high in the

air anyway. Interpretation is a difficult one. Personally, I think

that is a penalty. I don't think that is the right way to jump and

try to protect your goal. His arms are in the air, yes, to

jump but you don't have to have them that high. I think Ruud agrees with

me. I hope it does. It's a penalty! I hope he does, just to back me up!

Swansea showed spirit today and Garry Monk should be proud of the

players. Anyone questioning their application for him, just watch the

game today. They tried. They did not look as breast of confidence and

spirit as they have done in some previous games. -- as bereft of

confidence. Against oh, they looked like they had no confidence so it

looked like they were fighting for it. Yes, and Liverpool had only two

shots on goal and one was the penalty. You can imagine that they

were better into the game than the result shows. Why are they a bit

stodgy at home than away? For me, I was watching it, I was watching the

position of Emre Can. Here he is, he gets the ball all the time from

Skrtel and he does not need to be there. He is in the way. He should

be more forward. Here we go, he goes left but he should be in this

position. Let the centre-backs do their job. But he gets in an easy

position. After a while, there is no width and no people enough into

midfield. Here, he should go forward and ask the ball but he does not do

it. Here, he gets in the position he needs to be, in front. That is

where, suddenly, something is created. And he did not do it but

most of the games, here, again, you can see him. He needs to go forward.

He needs to go there, in order also to give the opposition -- get the

opposition in different positions but he doesn't. After a while, also,

the centre-back does not know because he gets the ball, to do

what? Nothing. He can only do lateral balls all the time. This was

Liverpool all day. It is a lucky ball, a long time on its way. Here,

again, gets the ball and they get the ball off him easily. Of course,

Lucas is not there and that is his position. He can play in a more

advanced role in midfield and attacking but that was the problem

today for Liverpool, two shots on goal, the whole game, can you

imagine? Two shots on target and the rest was terrible.

It was slow and the penalty helped them. It was a penalty but it helped

them. And Ruud with the point about Lucas Neill me being there, it

releases Emre Can, so he could give them more at Manchester City. Yes,

to get on the front foot and close people down, he likes to get about,

a young lad who does not want to be stuck in that position. But for

Liverpool, if you go away to Chelsea and Manchester City where you have

less of the ball and they are dominating play, it is easier to

play higher and price. When someone comes to Anfield and drops off, it's

a completely different game, maybe you have to mix it up, play some

long balls to Ben Tecate, whatever. They have struggled at home and they

have to get better because they were not convincing today.

Let's just touch on Watford, who have gone 11th in the table. They

have ten different nationalities in their starting line-up yesterday.

Incredible, 15 new players at the beginning of the season, a new

manager, sitting 11th, on 19 points, closer to the top four than the

bottom three. Because of Leicester's success, they have gone

under the radar bit and in the last couple of games I've seen, yes, the

front two are a handful, both quality players who play well

together but the rest of the team is so well drilled and well-organised.

They have got great legs in the team, really good energy and fitness

and athleticism. I can't fault them. Some of that responsibility or a lot

of it must come from the players to blend when there are so many

different nationalities. Yes, and there's a bit of luck involved,

getting the right characters to blend together. 15 new players, I

think it was, is a lot under risk and normally does not work but let's

give the manager great credit. They are playing with an energy and

vitality that a lot of other teams are not. What language do they

speak? He makes them all speaking dish, I think, that is where the

communication is, and he is Spanish, of course. And Jamie Vardy, 11th in

a row and his finishes have been fantastic. It's a very Telstra. We

are aware of it in Holland as well. Compliments and congratulations to

him. And it still just continues, continue as you are doing.
