in, week out, to the coaching staff and it's a big effort from everyone

stalking, he wants to work for the team and get them over the line

because invariably they are leading when he comes on. He changes a

Look at the reactions of the players, Amartey is sprinting like

an athlete. They are trying to get back in. They are all in position

amongst it, there is no shrinking violet. They are up for it. They

didn't lose because they were scared or could not play because of the

pressure of being in the relegation zone, they lost because they were

not good enough, that's all. On the front foot, whereof the cheeky

little corner by Leicester, great block, this is the problem though.

They have so many men behind the ball there is no outlet. They clear

the ball and it's coming straight back at them. That's what you can't

afford to do. They did create one or two chances, this is the best one,

Jack Rodwell. It will be disappointed he didn't score that.

to fight another day and if they show that workrate and belief in

for second-placed Tottenham Time is fast running out for

Tottenham's title charge, little room for error after their draw at

Anfield. Harry Kane may have broken the club's goal record that day but

he was only seven when Tottenham last beat Manchester United at White

Hart Lane. While Spurs harbour hopes of a first Premier League title,

Louis van Gaal's army could fail to reach the Champions League for the

second time in three years. Almost as unthinkable as this year's title

Every week between now and the final day, Spurs play after Leicester, but

it might only be a case of playing catch-up for a while as games go by

without the chance to narrow the gap. Spurs have to win and the team

it. It is an interesting half-time change because from the start it

looks like a straight swap, Ashley Young playing as a central striker,

Marty stays wide. I cannot recall having seen Young play in that sort

of position many times before -- Martial wide. Incomes Fosu-Mensah.

But it well again. Not a lot of love lost between Tim Fosu-Mensah man

Dele Alli, I tell you that, Alli giving him the Jews and not

appreciating the ferocity of his challenges. Martial -- Alli giving

possibilities to score. The last big possibility was of Martial. And then

there was a lack of communication in the centre of our defence

it has happened and we have to cope with that. We are a very confident

squad and we will not think about what happens at the end of the

right time. He has rotated the squad throughout the season and has now a

settled team. The team we saw today is possibly the team he should start

with between now and the end of the season. Because that is their Cup

Final team for me. We know players like Davis who can come in. They can

do the job. Son. But Leicester, they are a fixed side and no need to

rotate Tottenham. Limited number of games left, they are going in the

right direction. I would not rule them out. It is in the hands of

Leicester but Tottenham are right there.

This is where it unravelled for Manchester United. When Fosu-Mensah

comes off and this is really the big difference.

It is unusual for me to go for a fullback being a winger but it was

immense. He is alert to the danger and he saw the game well. If he does

not get a cross from the left-back, that is a goal-scoring chance.

Again, he loves a challenge. He leaves a bit on Dele Alli who does

not like it, nothing much in that. His decision making all afternoon

was superb. On his front foot, anticipating. He is not going to

kick it out, keeps the ball and sets United on the attack. He

Did not want to try and put much behind it, just great control, night

pass into the corner. 3-0 with an six minutes of Fosu-Mensah coming.

The Manchester United boss was late. But you want to celebrate Lamela

because you know the player and you are impressed with his development.

Nobody tries harder than him to fit into the Premier league. He worked

his socks off every single day in training. He has got stronger

physically and mentally. Great chance for Eriksen, but he

should score, he knows that, it does not affect him. He is still taking

it to United. You know what he is going to do, it does not work out on

this occasion. If anybody can take on Eriksen on a free must be very

good and he has obviously impressed Mauricio Pochettino in training.

Great delivery. Great header from Alderweireld. The game is over as

soon as they scroll. And it is a great finish from Lamela. I am

delighted for him because if anybody deserves it, he does. It was a big

price tag for him and he is showing what he is worth.

On paper, it looks like Tottenham have got the trachea, marginally?

Because Leicester have got the drop points for them to get anywhere. --

Then to play football like this, in the circumstances like today against

an opponent like Stoke, who plays I don't know, 70 or 80% long balls

aren't Peter Crouch is not easy to defend so it's not about pressing.

The first half I was reasonably happy with the performance even

though we were behind in the game, we were very much in the game as

such in terms of possession and control of the game, but we kept on

letting ourselves down by not being conscientious in our defensive work

and not switching on when the ball went dead and as a consequence the

situation lacks a goal. A difficult day certainly in the second half

were we didn't acquit ourselves very well at all. We will get to the root

of Stoke's problems at the moment but let's talk about a nice striking

conundrum for Jurgen Klopp especially with Dortmund on Thursday

the second leg coming. A great problem to have, two strikers in

form. He will want to play with one, take your choice, I think Daniel

Sturridge started really well. He looks at Chez Ocho here and then the

will fancy him to beat Origi. It's a great finish, we circle him. Good

want is already in a job or else it would be a good opportunity for

somebody to go in now and to look what they have and assess what they

need for next season. Do you worry with the likes of Bolton being

relegated yesterday from the Championship that they could

disappear the same way? That slippery slide? I do not, they have

a lot of players at the club equipped to play in the

Championship, I think they would do well in the Championship. They need

to add players who know the league and play around it and they need to

get a couple of English players at the club. And I believe that the

future could be bright for the club. That support, many thousands of

supporters deserve a better team on the pitch and they have been saying

it for many years and I am sure they are making the right moves to get

that club back to where they belong which
