Welcome to Match of the Day 2 and the first stellar Sunday

Andy Murray's match continues on BBC One.

And - as if they've never been away - joining me tonight

are Danny Murphy and Jermaine Jenas in what is a pants-free zone -

well not exactly, but you know what I mean.

First up, last year's runners-up Arsenal take on Liverpool,

This season, there's more cash than ever in the Premier League

and both teams have made some big additions.

Swiss international Granit Xhaka a ?30 million man -

but since then it has all been pretty quiet.

Liverpool looked closer to home - ?57 million for Southampton's Sadio

Mane and the Geordies' Georginio Wijnaldum.

However, Jurgen Klopp's shrewdest signings could be in defence,

with Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan coming in from the Bundesliga.

COMMENTATOR: Games don't get much bigger to begin

with and there can't be any better incentive to kick off with the wind

and taking three points and -- off top four and maybe title rivals.

Arsenal have difficulties with their defence. An instant debut for Rob

Holding, recruited from Bolton Wanderers. As the Deauville and

Olivier Giroud are also absent after their Euros exploits. Sanchez is

ready to lead the attack after winning the Cobra tag -- the Cobra

America with Chile. Granit Xhaka is a substitute. There are debuts for

Ragnar Klavan, Sadio Mane, whose first game for Southampton within a

2-1 League Cup win two years ago. Milner and Sturridge had doubts

about the fillers. Neither has managed to make the squad. -- they

had doubts about their fitness. The Emirates Stadium looks

absolutely resplendent with a newly laid pitch.

A bright start by Arsenal in the bright North London son. -- sun. He

felt his team-mate might have been impeded by Ramsey, although the

referee didn't think that. It's a toe poked straight into the chest of

Mignolet. A little interchange. Between Alexis Sanchez and Aaron

Ramsey, typical of the way Arsenal have started the game. The time of

year when everybody makes their predictions for who will win the

title, who might manage to finish in the top four. Not too many have

really mentioned Arsenal as genuine title contenders, although they are

sure to be up there, or thereabouts. Henderson nudges it along the line

to Clyne. I shot on target. Ripped along the turf, but it was

reasonably routine save for Jack. The New England boss is busy, he was

at Manchester yesterday. Walcott couldn't get back to his feet in

time but Moreno has given the ball away, to Iwobi, to Ramsey.

A miscue from Henderson in trying to get it clear. Moreno in on Walcott

and the flag is being waved under penalty has been given. He went over

the top of the ball, Moreno. Just isn't clean enough, in the way he

went in. He takes Walcott after getting the ball. He gets a yellow

card as well. Theo Walcott scored in both of Arsenal's final two

pre-season games. How about now, when it really matters?

Walcott denied by Mignolet. It's a flying save by the Belgian. Just

left hanging in the air nicely enough for him to be able to get

there and save it. Not tucked into the corner enough, either. It's not

a great penalty from Walcott. Bellerin can't go any further. A

great challenge on Lallana by Coquelin. Another chance for

Walcott. He takes this one. It's a relieved Theo Walcott. It's

an ecstatic Emirates Stadium. No need to score. -- no need to score

the straight ones from 12 yards, when you can put them in as

accurately as that from an ankle. Really good finish from Theo Walcott

-- from Theo Walcott. Jurgen Klopp will want his team to have a spell

on the ball, to settle themselves. There is a mistake on cue from

Chambers, given away to Firmino. That's why now button and it's saved

by Cech. -- that was Wijnaldum. Chambers apologises. It hasn't cost

him or his team. Just too casual, too measured maybe, in trying to

find Elneny, led by Firmino. Maybe the shot was a little too measured

as well from Wijnaldum. Two minutes added onto the end of this first

half. Coutinho was forced off balance,

holding up too close to him. Liverpool fashion chance at

levelling things up -- can Liverpool fashion a chance at levelling things

up? Coutinho, it's a cracker, absolutely brilliant from the

Brazilian! We heard Petr Cech barking out orders to his defenders.

But it would have taken a pretty special wall to have kept that one

out. It's a band over the wall and it's right into the top corner, the

one place Cech was never going to reach it -- it is up and over the

wall. The power and the position as well. Liverpool level, hopes all

round. Arsenal don't feel it was enough of hope from Holding to

warrant a free kick in the first place.

Here's Wijnaldum. It's a nice check back. He is Lallana, and Lallana has

squeezed it in. One at the end of the first half, one at the beginning

of the second Ford Jurgen Klopp's Reds. We are getting used to seeing

him losing his spectacles. Liverpool have turned things around.

It's lovely passing. Good awareness from Wijnaldum. He sees Lallana

coming. He kept his bearings about him, knew where the goal was and

knew how to beat Cech to find it. Arsenal one, Liverpool two.

Liverpool are bossing the ball. From being a goal down, they are now

bossing the game. Wijnaldum to Clyne. Clyne just increases the pace

with a run at Monreal and it's turned into three by Coutinho. What

a goal from Liverpool! Knocked it about from side to side and back to

front, and then Clyne decided to step on it, take the initiative.

That is a sumptuous goal. And brilliantly finished by Coutinho,

for his second goal of the day. Arsenal one, Liverpool three. For

all the new signings, Phillippe Coutinho looks as though he will be

Liverpool's key man this season. Firmino is trying to sidestep

Chambers, who won't get out of his way lightly. Coutinho's shot is

smothered and its bundled wide in the end. By Adam Lallana. It was so

very nearly four. It's got jeers booming down onto the field from the

Arsenal fans. Now it looks like they've missed Laurent Koscielny

hugely today. Here's Mane. Mane brushes Chambers

aside and scores Liverpool's fourth! What a performance from Liverpool.

Sadio Mane with another cracking goal. Now there's not just

discontent from the Arsenal fans, it's just plain brewing, and it's

loud. Jurgen Klopp can scarcely contain his delight at what he has

seen from his side since just before half-time -- booing. It's Mane

showing great pace, too strong, too sharp for Chambers. Monreal didn't

know where he was and there was nothing Cech or Holding could do

about that. This will be headline news. Arsenal one, Liverpool four,

and quite a few Arsenal fans are heading for home already as

Oxlade-Chamberlain gets them back into the game, perhaps. All his own

work. Goals reining in at the Emirates. There's nothing on for

Oxlade-Chamberlain but in a flash he is between two, he has passed

another two, and there's a little deflection that takes that away from

Mignolet's hands. Arsenal two, Liverpool four. Well, it was billed

as a game at the weekend. I think it's lived up to it!

It will be a Santi Cazorla cross. He's put it into the right place and

its thing. Calum Chambers got something on it. -- it is in.

Arsenal really do have something to chase now. It's a thrill a minute

ride to kick off campaign at the Emirates. Who did get the final

touch? Chambers was telling is all that he did. And he did. Just adding

to the pace of the cross, which was terrific from Santi Cazorla. It's

now Arsenal three, Liverpool four. What a change in mood around the

ground, from you don't know what you're doing. Haven't heard a think

you do know what you're doing! -- I haven't heard a proud thing, you do

know what you are doing! -- crowd sing. Oxlade-Chamberlain is waiting

for the ball. Incomes Wijnaldum. Now Roberto Firmino. Came off and

Arsenal need, went into the side of Cech's goal. He senses the game is

up for his team today. A spirited fightback, but it was that Liverpool

blitz which has seen them win the game. What a game, what a way to

start the Premier League season at the Emirates Stadium. I think we got

what we expected at the end of this today. Liverpool have got a massive

three points. Was that how you expected it to go?

Exactly! I could not dream in my wildest dreams that I would be

saying that we could concede three and, normally when you concede three

goals at Arsenal, you will lose. It was a game of two halves. We had a

good first half and we were unlucky to be 1-1 at half-time. After the

first half I think we made a massive mistake on the second goal and after

you could see that we had shock and we lacked experience at the back.

Yes, we need the wonderful strike, may be the first goal of the season

was the goal of the season. And at half-time we could change a lot of

things and after half-time, we came out and scored crazy goals. It is

not allowed that a manager celebrates a goal like this, but I

was on my way before I could stop it. It's the first game for me in

the season, and I won't do it again that early in a game, but in this

moment you could see something changed. We have a good fight back,

and this team is mentally strong and determined to fight, and we showed

that again today. Was there a worry when there was only one goal in it?

We're always confident as a team even if we go 1-0 down, that's what

the manager has driven into us, that never say die attitude. No matter

what moment we are in the game, level, down, we stay strong and we

got together in the end we saw the game out. Very nervy for Liverpool

at the end, and it was only their second away win at Arsenal in 16

years, incredibly, I think Danny was part of the last one to do it. But

what a game from your old side. Incredible. I was fearful up until

the 44th minute. We did not start the game well. But the speed, the

intensity and creativity they showed in the second half was so promising

and it reminded me of a couple of performances last season when they

went to Chelsea and Manchester city and played ever so well. The trick

now is to do it more consistently, because when they play like that,

it's sensational. For the Arsenal fans, is that the realisation of

their concerns? The lack of options at centre-half and a quality

striker? I go with what Danny ger said. In the first half, I thought

they looked OK. -- Danny just said. It would be easy to sit here and

criticise the defence. There was a lot of inexperience at the back,

yes, but they are two very young centre halves coming into a tough

game against a good Liverpool side and they are going to get better. In

the central defensive area, you need partnerships and it needs time to

grow. They are chucked in, brand-new as a partnership, and they

struggled, but everybody knew it was going to be a tough game for them.

They tried to come back, but in the end, it was too much. Despite the

scoreline, it's easy to forget that Arsenal have a much better of the

first half, and you saw a game plan from the hosts. There was an obvious

game plan. We all thought Liverpool would be all over Arsenal, trying to

press them and we know Jurgen Klopp likes that. Arsenal did it well to

Liverpool early in the game. There was an obvious intensity in the play

and closing down, and they were at it. I like to see that in the

opening game of the season. You want to be on the front foot. They showed

good energy and desire to win the ball back. In Arsene Wenger's

interview, he said they could not continue that intensity in the

second half which, OK, maybe it's understandable, but when they do

this they are a really good side. They play on the front foot, they

get after you and keep the ball away from the back four and may keep

winning the ball back, time and time again. Look at the desire from Theo

Walcott, taking the ball from Wijnaldum. Everyone of them, to a

man, they were all at it in the first 35 and 40 minutes. Yes,

Liverpool made some mistakes, but because of the high press, and that

time was Mignolet giving Henderson a silly ball, and they got the

rewards. Six men all in the final third, all trying to score a goal.

Liverpool win it back, but they don't switch off, watch this tackle

from Coquelin. Not sure where Moreno is going, but Walcott after missing

a penalty smashes it into the bottom corner and at that point I thought

Liverpool did well to hang on. Very much playing the Liverpool wafer

Arsenal, but did we see a shift in momentum in the equaliser it was a

magical moment from Philippe Coutinho. We did. But Liverpool were

not really at it. When you have a magician in your side like Philippe

Coutinho you have a chance and we could watch this free kick over and

over again. It was sublime. That is where the game changed, from a

mentality point of view for Liverpool and Arsenal and for

momentum. Liverpool took the goal and took it into the second half.

Arsene Wenger said it was a game of two halves and there was a different

contest altogether in the second half, but why was that? I listen to

Adam Lallana's comments after the game and he said that there were

words had with each other in the second half and they realised they

did not live up to what they are capable of the first half and to

change it. It was a matter of them saying, listen, we need more

intensity in the game, get closer to players and we are better. You can

see little want to touch is a flick around the corner from Coutinho.

Then the finish from Adam Lallana, the 49th minute, that is what Jurgen

Klopp would have wanted, get out there and get me a goal. Lovely pass

into midfield, Wijnaldum involved again. There were 19 passes. A great

team goal. A lovely ball from Nathaniel Clyne who cause a lot of

problems down the right-hand side, and I know it comes off Coutinho's

Shin, but lovely finish, good run, in the back of the net. Just a bit

more determined to win the balls, and Mane was sensational throughout

the whole game. The minute he picks the ball up there's only one place

he is going, and when he puts it in the top corner, it was everything he

deserved. He was the best player on the pitch throughout the game and is

so hard to deal with. The most sprinting in the game. I think

Jurgen Klopp regretted the celebration, but Liverpool follow --

thoroughly deserved the victory. Is this a glimpse of what we can expect

from Liverpool? I really hope so. When you think they have Sturridge

to go back into it as well, it's exciting times. But I think we saw

last season a few examples and I spoke about them early the brilliant

Liverpool performance and they did not back it up. I remember them

going to Watford and losing 3-0 the week after. It's about consistency.

But they look, when they are on the front foot and go after teams, very,

very dangerous and it's very promising for Liverpool supporters.

For Arsenal, Alex Iwobi and Aaron Ramsey hobbling off, lots of booing

from the fans and Arsene Wenger is starting on the back foot again.

Players going down injured, and Ramsey had such a good campaign for

Wales, to go off with a hamstring injury is so disappointing for him

and the fans. I don't think it is to do with the Euros. I really don't.

Bournemouth survived their inaugural season in the Premier League

and will once again be looking to consolidate this time around.

The small matter of Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.

Jose has been The Busy One this summer.

from Anfield and Leeds' Lewis Cook among the new recruits.

old days. As Jose Mourinho begins his campaign to restore Manchester

United's all supremacy, knowing all too well that a Bournemouth victory

at Chelsea in December virtually sealed his fate there. Eddie Howe

has told his team to have a real go at the United team. Jordan Ibe and

Lewis Cook making their debuts. There are two United changes from

the Community Shield, a rarer for Carrick, and Juan Mata falling down.

The Spaniard has a lot to give, says Marino, although he is the most

likely to suffer from the arrival of Paul Pogba. Ibrahimovic begins his

quest for a debut title at a seventh club. Bournemouth are actually

unbeaten at home in four meetings with Manchester United. They had

that very famous cup victory under Harry Redknapp back in January 19

84. Possibly the most famous date in the history of the club until their

promotion success. Daniels. Sure, the torch was heavy. -- the touch

was heavy. Good to see Callum Wilson back and fully fit after that

horrible cruciate ligament injury he picked up last September. Jose

Mourinho, unbeaten in seven Premier League opening games.

Getting forward well and he will take on Charlie Daniels here.

Manages to get the crossing, and Ibrahimovic is coming in. The

referee gives a free kick against him. But he was aggressive in the

air, and good work by Valencia, hanging across high. That is where

Ibrahimovic scored from a Wembley last weekend. It rose, it hung, and

then crunched. Eddie Howe's Bournemouth went through pre-season

unbeaten, six games, three wins, three draws. Lovely take from one

matter. Picks out Ibrahimovic -- from Mata. Interesting that Rooney

and Ibrahimovic seem to be prepared to swap. Rooney, taking up a good

position. Martial. Ibrahimovic lumbering up through the middle.

Martial goes for goal. Did not have a good summer with France in the

Euros and he flashed that one wide. 15 goals in his first campaign to

Manchester United last season. Olly Murs in the crowd. Can Manchester

United provide the X Factor neck -- this season? Valencia can pull it

back. Mata to Rooney. Borage, keep looking for his first clean sheet in

ten games, and he saved comfortably enough -- Boruc. The United

hierarchy looking on. There is the man they are looking at to restore

the glory days. Bournemouth have won four of their last ten opening

games, and Manchester United have won 16 of their 24 Premier League

openers. A joint record that, with Chelsea.

That is sold short. Olly Murs is in. It bounces horribly, and Mata

converts. -- Mata is in. Manchester United ahead with a huge slash of

luck. The man who arrived, and Jose Mourinho says he can give him so

much. He showed tenacity there and after it broke horribly Francis, he

tapped it in. Last week he was rather humiliated at Wembley, but

having been substituted as a substitute, real joy on his face

here. Sir Bobby Charlton looking on, good to see him here. And looking so

well. Memories of 1966 have been refreshed in recent weeks. One by

Fellaini. Ibrahimovic looking for Rooney. Through the gap. And

thwarted by Boruc, but another sign there could be a really strong to

Dan -- understanding growing between Ibrahimovic and Rooney. Very good

players tend to gel quite quickly. Given away again. Ibrahimovic,

perfect weight on the ball to Rooney. Andrew Surman sends him

down. He says it was a dive by Rooney. Andrew Surman pleads

innocence, and from that angle there was nothing in it. Bournemouth need

to make changes. Not showing enough here to suggest they can come back

into the game with 58 minutes gone. Manchester United have certainly

shown more determination as a group, more togetherness as a group. They

showed the long periods of last season. Mata, good release and well

timed. Valencia on the charge. Valencia still gets across in an

Martial has scuffed it. Rooney! 2-0. A long way back for Bournemouth now.

He has played very well. And he edges closer to Sir Bobby Charlton's

record. One minute shy of the hour, Martial could not score, but Rooney

certainly could. 247 goals for United. Classic header, back across

the goalkeeper. End of the season, scoring against Bournemouth at home,

start the league season with a goal against them. Pensive Bournemouth

manager, and #4 Bournemouth. Wayne Rooney has won 155 of his hundred

and 70 same -- hundred and 77 games for Manchester United when he has

good. Martial on the half term. Running directly and clipped by

Andrew Surman. Pitch by Surman, who couldn't get in

-- couldn't let him get the shot way. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored in

the Community Shield Badge leak and very nearly scored again. Good save,

big gap in the wall, Ben through it. Powerful right-handed save. A

boisterous Man United following away as always. Martial coming into the

game more now. Clipped by Ake, Manchester United going for the kill

and a wonderful strike from Zlatan Ibrahimovic puts Manchester United

3-0 up and sounds a real warning to the Premier League. He scored on his

league debut for Juventus into Barca and now Manchester United, he's won

the title in his debut season for his last six clubs. He won the title

with Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan, and he starts lead life under Jose

Mourinho with a really good strike. -- he starts lead life. The Emperor

strikes for the special one. This is the man who could add the Eric

Cantona effect for Manchester United. Can Bournemouth's January

signings return to the club, Afobe has signed for Wolves, turn this one

around? Here is Grabban, his first touch. Couldn't clear his feet. Find

Adam Smith. Oh, a terrific goal! That will do him the world of good.

Suffered a really painful injury at the end of last season and missed

the final two months. Worked his way back to fitness pre-season and he

has worked Bournemouth back into this game with a lovely strike on

his left foot, and banged it past the gate as Manchester United

switched off to the displeasure of their manager. -- banged it past De

Gea. Arter, really good pressure on him by Shaw, here is Cook. Francis

is still full of running. Off Fellaini. Into the last minute of

stoppage time. Taken short. Francis with the cross.

Cook was in there. Driven by Surman. A splendid save by De Gea, a really

good goalkeeper, unemployed for most of the game but still alert enough

to protect Manchester United's goal. Here's the cross that comes in from

Gradel. Back it comes out, Smith with the slam. Afobe challenges. It

is loose. It's Gradel who saves the game. A late flurry. Gradel wins it

back. Out by Herrera. Work for De Gea at the end, and he

was alert enough to protect that goal, and ensure a really good

opening victory here for Jose Mourinho.

Where does this United squad stand at the moment compared to the other

squads you at the moment compared to the other

squads you have had at this stage? I met a sad squad in my first day, a

squad not happy with their situation, not happy with the

results, but I found immediately in the first training session a squad

that wants to work, wants to improve, wants to win matches, wants

to win titles, wants to be proud and make people proud of them, the Man

United supporters. I thought it was an even game until the first goal.

That was the key moment in the game, I thought. I thought we started

brightly. We dominated the early possession stakes and looked

comfortable. You can't Man United goals, which we did. How good with

Zlatan Ibrahimovic? We knew before he joined the club he was one of the

top players in the world and he has a big presence about him. He's going

to be a great addition to our team. Could he's have the same effect on

United that Cantona had all those years ago? This guy is a player we

want to have basically for the next two seasons, but I think he can be

phenomenal for the team, but I think also for the Premier League, he's

the kind of player the Premier League has to be pleased to have. A

winning start for Manchester United, never really got out of second gear

at the Vitality Stadium but with its efficiency of the clinical nature in

front of goal, it was very much in the style of Mourinho? They were

well drilled, they did in the first 20 minutes sit back and let

Bournemouth come at them a little bit and as the game went on, the

quality shone through, the senior players, the better players, started

controlling the game and there was some terrific performances. If you

think they've got Mkhitaryan who was on the bench today, Pogba, it looks

like good times a game for United. Did United get the rub of the green

like good times a game for United. Did United get the rub of the green

in terms of their goals? Definitely for the first one because at this

stage there was not much in it, if I'm honest with you. It was on a

knife edge, the game, and then that mistake from Simon Francis is what

has turned it. It's two made stakes, unfortunately. Boruc comes out to

try and clear it and it ricochets back off Francis and Mata cleans up.

In this instance here it is King who is tracking back and he's

unfortunate not to nick that ball. This is a shot for Martial, but what

good strikers do, right place, right time and Rooney is here to stick it

in the net. Flat and wasn't going to be left out. He showed glimpses in

the game -- satire in every road which wasn't going to be left out.

He could do better but it's a great strike from him and he showed some

terrific moments today, such a presence, as Wayne Rooney said --

Ibrahimovic. A real belief in his own quality. What about the way that

Rooney and Ibrahimovic dovetails today, they were at the Community

Shield Badge weekend, there wasn't much spark there but were there

early signs today? They were much better today, I thought Rooney was

superb today, there were questions over how he would fit in but there

was no problem today. Infant terms of a front two they dovetailed.

Sometimes Ibrahimovic dropped deep, sometimes Rooney did, they had nice

linkup play. It will be interesting to see where the likes of Pogba and

Lingard played, so they have legs to get past them because that side at

the minute doesn't quite have enough legs. Do you agree? Totally agree,

good players can play together. Roomy and Ibrahimovic are as good as

it gets at the top end of the page. -- Rooney. They like to drop deep.

They were on the away line pulling strings but when you have Martial

Pogba making runs, they will be dangerous. Those two players are

often in the headlines but you have pointed out one player who is an

unsung hero. Yes, I think the Blind has been brilliant considering he is

a midfield player, turned centre-half if you like. He has

played wing back and fullback in his international career for former

clubs but he is a ray of passing, the chip in there was a difficult

technique. He always finds the right has. Rooney knows when he gets in

those holes he will find him. -- he finds the right path. Defensively

there is a question but I don't see that. He's clever, he knows when to

come out, finds danger, stays on his feet, he is a clever footballer, a

real thinker. He is becoming a good leader, I saw him organising people

today, one-on-one with someone quicker than him, he knows he is

right footed and reads it beautifully. He looks as though he

has played there all his career. His positional play is excellent and

that's what you get with clever footballers. Last year they had the

joint is defensive record in the Premier League and it's because of

this man. He reads the game so well. He gives Mourinho another option

when Chris Smalling comes back. As for Bournemouth, the setup is pretty

much what we saw last week, 4-3- three, a good goal through Adam

Smith but at some point or many points it failed to click for them

in the final third? Their build-up played for into the midfield was

good as it always is but they lacked that intensity and cutting-edge that

Bournemouth are almost renowned for in the Championship and last year in

the Premier League. When they got into these areas of the pitch they

chose the wrong option a lot of the time. Spaces out wide with Adam

Smith, but they kept coming into this central area of the pitch,

where Manchester United are so strong throughout the whole of the

game, very strong in fact. But again, not just that, it was a

hold-up play, every time the ball went into why the Wilson or King it

didn't quite stick, or the lay-off As didn't quite work. Bournemouth

are known for high-intensity get it right, get the balls into the box,

get runners the box and it just didn't seem to work for them. Their

touch, as we see here, Wilson, just didn't seem to stick. At all. In

that first half. I found the play was a bit laboured at times and then

Ibe is trying to make things happen here, you can see him almost asking

his team-mates come on, move, give me something, but the spaces out

wide and I felt that's where the space was for them today because of

how strong United were in the middle and they kept trying to force these

passes through the centre of the pitch. It was easy for United in the

end. They didn't have to work that hard at dealing with them. What

Bournemouth eventually had to resort to what situations like this, 40

yard shots, and it wasn't a normal Bournemouth I was used to seeing but

I'm not worried about them at all. There were seven games yesterday

as the new season got underway. We start our round-up of Saturday's

action with the champions. COMMENTATOR:

far from straightforward. We saw the champions Leicester come unstuck

with what was a great performance against the odds from Hull City, but

how much can be read into the result as far as the champions are

concerned? Time will tell. The thing that stuck out for me was that they

seem wide-open at times. Last year, their strength was playing as a

team. Granted the loss of Kante, and Robert was being suspended had a big

impact had a big impact on the game against Hull City -- Huth. I'm sure

they will be looking to bounce back. The audition for Mike Phelan could

not have gone better at Hull City. Talk of new investors in the wings,

but whatever is going on, it needs to be sorted, because 13 fit senior

players they cannot carry on like that. It's impossible. He deserves

great credit and I know he's popular with the lads and he has said the

mother the game well, and they played for him, so credit to him. --

he set them up for that game. He might just get the job. As

talk that the Barcelona deal might be done that option. He might have

to look abroad. Even though he is a fighter, he won't want to be a

from the championship, and over the last 24 hours, who can we say at

this stage, and I know it's early days, who is the best equipped to

stay up? If you look at the squads, you would say Middlesbrough, made a

lot of signings with good quality. I think Burnley have only signed a

couple of lads within inexperience and lost probably their best

midfielder of last season, so that I would expect them to do business

because they need to strengthen to compete. Yes, I mean, look, Hull

City up Robbie still favourites to go down. They need bodies, simple as

that -- are probably still. 13 fit is not enough. And I agree with

Danny Murphy, Middlesbrough best equipped. You talk about Burnley and

this is their third season in the top flight and each time they have

only lasted one campaign. If you are one of the fans, you would be

frustrated in terms of where is the ambition, and do they need to loosen

the purse strings to allow them a chance of staying up? I am sure they

are trying. He has said he is frustrated and what type of player

can they bring to Burnley with the wage structure? That is the trouble.

I am sure they are scaring the market. I totally agree. After what

happened last week they need to do something to strengthen the squad.

At this stage of the season may say don't look at the table until

September. But we are putting paid to that.
