Hello, I'll be honest with you, it's been a long day but we have two

games to keep us going, Liverpool against Crystal Palace and Burnley

versus Manchester United. Danny Murphy and Matthew Upson are with

us. The great and good are arriving

at a posh London hotel Jurgen Klopp's first defeat

as Liverpool manager Can they chuck another spanner

in the top-four works? Two sides in outstanding form,

albeit with contrasting incentives for victory. One eye on the

Champions League, the other trying to avoid the Championship.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has seen no reason to

alter oh winning team. There were doubts over the fitness of Joel

Matip and Lucas but both start at the missing training in the week. A

youthful looking bench, with four teenagers on it. Sam Allardyce had

to make at least one change, as Sakho is ineligible to face his

employers. Tomkins is the only alteration. It means Christian

Benteke makes his first return to Anfield since becoming Palace's

record signing. The first thing you have to do is visiting side at

Anfield is to try and silenced the crowd. There done that, no real

chances at all the Liverpool. Still going, Benteke! He should have done

better. Goodness me, it opened up all of a sudden for Benteke. I'm not

sure it should've done. Liverpool seemed to stand still. He got the

better of Lucas, got the better of Joel Matip and it opened up in front

of him. That is one of the youngest benches you will see anywhere in the

Premier League, four teenagers on it for Liverpool. Brewster has a first

opportunity to impress from the bench, the young striker.

No foul on Firmino, but Ward has given it straight to Wijnaldum.

Well, that is a foul on Philippe Coutinho. I think in fairness to

Andre Marriner, he just looked to see if Liverpool had an advantage

and there wasn't really an advantage, so it comes back for that

challenge on Coutinho. Coutinho very deliberately

overseeing the position. Here he goes. It is on target, it is

into the net, it is wonderful! It is one thing knowing where he is going

to put it, it is another preventing it when he gets it right. A

brilliant free kick from Philippe Coutinho. The wall was very

carefully set up but it didn't really make a jot of difference,

that is right in the corner. The right amount of whip and swerve and

the way in which it rippled the side of the netting means even a

goalkeeper as tall as Wayne Hennessey could get nowhere near it.

Philippe Coutinho brings up double figures for Premier League goals and

he is delighted. 13 times he has been a visiting manager here at

Anfield. Three draws and ten defeats.

Cabaye is onside. Real chance for Crystal Palace. It is 1-1! It is

Benteke at the Kop end and Crystal Palace, who have been in brilliant

form, never looked like they were done at 1-0 and so it has proven. He

is containing his emotion, Sam Allardyce, but you could see a smile

just breaking out. Cabaye onside and from this moment on, it was all

about the delivery of the ball into the area and Cabaye's ball in was

inch perfect and Benteke wraps it into the back of the net. It is now

four goals in three appearances as a visitor to Anfield and Christian

Benteke, who left Liverpool last August, weighs in with a goal

against them. And Sam Allardyce absolutely loves it. He tried to be

respectful in his celebration, Benteke, but he and the Sakho,

former players, embark on this routine. Paper, scissors, stone? It

is. And I think Benteke won it. Here is Benteke. It was on target.

Mignolet was in the right place to make it a fairly routine save.

He was talking in his press conference about how there is no

such thing as an easy game, particularly at this stage of the

season, Jurgen Klopp. It breaks for Firmino. Off the

backside of Puncheon. That is nice. He expected it to be

on target. He is that kind of player and he has been brilliant today.

That is brilliant, but the finish ends up in the middle of the Kop.

Coutinho, such a difficult man to dispossess. All the way. Brilliant

block from Tomkins. Great defending. There were a couple of challenges

that it Coutinho had gone down, he may well have won a penalty. I think

that is what he is saying to Andre Marriner. No one wants to get too

heavy a touch on him, because they know what will happen, but he rides

a challenge when he could have gone down. Tomkins blocks him. The debate

is you give him the advantage to score and when he doesn't score, is

it not then a penalty? A heartening start to the second half for

Liverpool. Coutinho is getting on the end of

everything. I think it hits the back of Kelly again. In fact, it is Origi

that gets in the way. Would that have gone in? Might have done. Keep

going, he says, be patient, it will come.

Given away to Milivojevic. Up towards Benteke. Kicked away by

Matip. A foul by Clyne and a free kick to

the visitors. Trying to get away from Clyne, who

wouldn't let him get away from him. Benteke and inevitable target. It is

finally won. Puncheon drives it, probably on target. Strange

clearance, Tomkins wins it. And Cabaye! Decent chance. The first

that Palace have had in the second half. Came to him quickly and he had

to respond very speedily. But he couldn't get over the top of it and

he ended up getting too far underneath it and it was some

distance over. There is optimism for sure on the Crystal Palace bench.

Ward towards Townsend. Townsend is beyond Lovren. Benteke is by the

penalty spot. Milner with a terrific tackle.

Lovren was never going to get there. Townsend beyond him. But Milner only

had his eyes on the ball and made a timely tackle. Crystal Palace

corner. Townsend will swing it towards

Mignolet. And it's gone through. Benteke! And field silenced, except

for the supporters nearest to the goal, who made their way from south

London and Christian Benteke quite literally stooped to conquer. Well,

he has got this wonderful scoring record as a visiting player at

Anfield. He has got the equaliser. Now, maybe, he has got the winner.

16 minutes or thereabouts to go and Crystal Palace heading for a third

straight win at Anfield. And may be heading to the safety line. And all

players, Palace's record signing from Liverpool.

It doesn't matter how much you dominate possession, if you don't

score, you are always in danger. I'm pretty sure they have only had one

attempt on target. "We Are staying up." Well, Liverpool were only as

good as we allowed them to be and you can talk about all this

possession again, they are going to have a lot of it, as did Chelsea, as

did Arsenal and like everything else, people always forget that

possession is not nine tenths of the law, it is what you do with your

possession and everyone should remember that and we did more with

our possession, even though it was limited, than Liverpool today and

that is why we won. The situation with Phil was maybe the biggest

moment. I'm not sure the rest would say it was a penalty, if he saw at

this moment, he might decide differently. The midfield tried to

pass, we cannot pass, the reference netted run, no advantage, go back.

It is all closed up there, you are 12 now. It has been hard work

getting where we are it but it is looking up. What has particularly

clicked for the team? I think now we all more compact, and we are all

confident, I think and feel more like I have the support of Andros

Townsend, of Wilfried Zaha and also the midfield. I don't feel any more

lonely at the top of the page. I do mention this quite a lot,

Danny, but not long after Sam Allardyce took over at Crystal

Palace, he did a post match interview where he talked about

everybody having to be patient and the performances and results would

come late March and into April and he has been proved right. He always

takes a bit of time to implement his way. I mean, Liverpool weren't

particularly good today, granted. It is not rocket science with

Liverpool, no Henderson, no Lallana, no side are now. If they don't have

the first 11 fit, they struggle at times. Coutinho was excellent. He

was the only one. But Palace were sensational, great performance. A

team full of confidence after recent wins against Arsenal and Chelsea.

They had a game plan, defended deep, broke with pace with the wide man

and Benteke They had a game plan, defended deep,

broke with pace with the wide man and Benteke looks like a different

player now. And that is down to Sam Allardyce, because he has worked on

getting people close to him. The balls into him are better, he is

staying closer to the goal. He is not travelling all over. This is the

Benteke that Liverpool board and he didn't perform there, obviously

because they didn't play to his strengths. He has got all the

attributes you need to score lots of goals. He got booked for this, I

think he is unfortunate. It is not a penalty but certainly not a yellow

card. But when he is playing like this, he is a real handful because

for a big man, he has got a good touch. He is great in the air, he

just has to play the position and he played between the 18 yard box is

really well today. Terrible defending but lovely pass from

Cabaye and the form he is in, he is never going to miss. You have played

against him, haven't you? He is a massive handful physically and in

the air but the thing that stood out for me with Palace today was they

had a game plan but how well they took the ball. They have some

talented players, some skilful wide players and they have the ball and

dealt with the ball really well. On Benteke, it's down to what his

coach tells him he wants from him, that is, stick in between the goal,

and also down to how they set up, so they have players, as you say, near

him? Yes, you have to work on it in training. It's when do you go along

to him? If you go in too far away it's easier for defenders to read

it, topping screen, but from the right areas there were getting good

balls to him. Two months ago I was watching him and he was everywhere

but in the box. Stamp -- Sam is obviously saying, where are you

going? Stay there. The way Palace played today, it's a well-organised,

drilled team, it's a Sam team and they are near the top ten, who would

have thought that. Is the point with Sam Allardyce, the patients was

needed, the first eight games, just one and drawn one, the last eight

games they've won six and drawn one and they are up to 12. Jurgen Klopp

said only one player reacted for Crystal Palace was Mac second goal

and it was none of his. I don't think he was referencing to his own

players, that's for sure. When you look at the goal it's a pretty

confusing setup to start with. It's not the tidiest of zonal lines.

Really, they need to be in unison and understanding what zone each

player is taking. But it's a little bit scruffy. But having said that...

You'd move them to there, would you? I would, because tide is that the

clarity of what's your zone and your area. But when you look at the

crossover there a grey of whose responsibility Benteke. Can looks

like he's got him, he's locked in, you think, follow it through.

Instead, he kind of gets planted and let's Benteke drift off him. Having

said that, Lovren does nothing, there's no proactive stepping in to

deal with the play, or to contact Benteke to stop him getting a touch.

In the near post, the court corner was poor quality. I've never done

zonal, but is that a case of Can switching off, or a situation where

Can is thinking Lovren is going to pick him up, let him go? I think so.

That's the danger of zonal. You have your man, that's your

responsibility, you know what your role is. So when Can sees Benteke

go, he thinks, I'm passing onto Lovren? He passes Hibs on, Can, new

lock him, even if he comes out of your zone. He's the only threat to

score in that position and you have to stay with him and just contact

him. You don't have to win it, just make sure he doesn't get a touch on

it. They need a centre-half in the summer. On Coutinho, it's an age-old

argument about whether referees make decisions on how a player reacts.

Matt and I have looked at this a lot and we think it's a perfect

opportunity for a referee to pull it back and give a penalty. Now I'm all

for letting play go on and to try to stay on your feet to score because

it was a brilliant run, but it does hamper his path. It does hamper his

rhythm. So can the referees say you haven't scored, but I'm going to

give a penalty anyway? Yes, he can. But he didn't. Of course, what does

that mean? It means players will continually go over in the box and

exaggerate dives, because they know that's the only way they'll get a

penalty. It's something we will criticise Ms programme, we will sit

and criticise that. The flip side is let's support the players, innocence

if they don't go down but there is interference that stops them

scoring, let's pull it up and and give the appropriate awarded penalty

or free kick or whatever. Next, to Burnley, and today's visitors,

Manchester United, who kept their top four lives hopes alive with a

victory over Chelsea. COMMENTATOR:

United have given notice top four hopes are far from over yet. On

Thursday night the jinx struck again. I think we've played six

matches in a row, we don't have Jones, we don't have Smalling, we

lose Zlatan as well. We have seven matches to play in the Premier

League, the Europa League, we needed everyone that can and hopefully we

can have helped. So how does the team line-up # Steve Bower is your

commentator for Burnley against Manchester United.

As the problems mount up, it's all hands on deck for Manchester United

to maintain hopes of the top four finish. Today's rotation includes

just a second start in the last 19 games for captain Wayne Rooney. Far

more subtle from Burnley's point of view as they protect the six best

home record in the league, Sam Vokes has a hamstring injury so Andre Gray

is recall. Heaton, Keane and Brady faced the club where they began

their footballing education. The amount of Jose Mourinho changes are

state total, eight, as well as Rooney, there's a start for Anthony

Martial and Daley Blind in the centre of defence, Marcus Rashford

is only a substitute, along with Mkhitaryan and Carrick.

That's a Burnley free kick. Heaton takes, looking for Ashley

Barnes. He's been picked up early in this game by Fellaini, but Barnes

won that one. Robbie Brady with the left footed volley wide. Barnes, who

wins so much in the air for Burnley. Manchester United know they are

going to have to battle for anything they get here today. Martial, his

50th Premier League appearance up against Keane.

Martial once more. Taking on Keane. He's got it across as well. Herrera

is in there, and it's Wayne Rooney, denied by Heaton. You do feel any

kind of contact there from Rooney would have resulted in a goal. Ben

Mee did well to take some power off the shot. His second Premier League

start since December. That's a good ball from Herrera, if

Young can keep it in. Time to return the favour, early from Herrera.

Rooney was in there, needed the intervention of Matt Lowton. A first

corner of the game after 11 minutes, is Manchester United's. Fellaini

arriving, straight at Heaton. He was allowed to attack risk Marouane

Fellaini, away from Keane, the direction was never going to trouble

the Burnley captain. Marcus Rashford being wrapped in the proverbial

cotton wool. Burnley free kick. Fellaini

penalised again. A little nudge. It was little, was it? A prominent

nudge on Ashley Barnes. Robbie Brady's delivery. Michael Keane

coming in. Still alive. Gray. Another chance for Brady to deliver

this. Away by Rooney. Martial, he's got Herrera to his right. Still

Martial. He'd seen the Spaniard Pogba is totally free. It's back to

Martial. What a devastating break. Anthony Martial marks his 50th

Premier League appearance and his recall to the Manchester United team

with a goal. After ten games without one, clinical. Rulli started it with

a clearance inside his own penalty area. -- Rooney. Martial took up the

battered. He knew exactly where Herrera was. A terrific ball back to

him and Martial did the rest. His 15th career Premier League goal, one

touch controlled it. The second one finished it. And after 21 minutes,

Manchester United are in front at Turf Moor. Burnley nil, Manchester

United one. I'm not so sure Burnley would have

planned for this game with Anthony Martial as a leading figure in the

Manchester United line. He has the telling contribution. On his recall

so far. Here's the Frenchman again. In two Rooney. It was just about a

clean challenge. Didn't look as though Barton got any of the ball

well. Just watching Barton coming from behind him. He doesn't get the

ball. I can understand Wayne Rooney's question to Anthony Taylor.

Burnley certainly affected, conceding a goal.

Gray trying to get the better of Blind. The header was from Ashley

Young. The hair came along way, got there first Burnley throw.

Lowton with it, towards Barnes. Just beaten to it by Darmian. Fellaini

first with the second ball. Pogba 40 was being held. Anthony Taylor

agreed. -- Pogba thought he was being held. That's falling guard to

chase, and chase he will. -- that's for Lingard to chase. Martial in

support. The header, straight to Pogba. Good

feet from him. Martial is away from Ben he. It's squeezed in by Rooney.

2-0 Manchester United. Wayne Rooney, on his return to the team, has his

goal. He didn't give this up. Martial is definitely onside. Tom

Heaton did well initially. Couldn't quite get there. Rooney was the

first to react, most certainly over the line and the visitors have their

second. A little untidy there but credit Rooney. He got there first,

bobbled off Michael Keane as well, and over the line. Majesty and I

to's all-time goal-scorer has his 251st for the clubs Manchester

United's all-time goal-scorer. Ward couldn't keep it out. Burnley nil,

Manchester United two. Pogba has got it back from Marty.

Might fancy ago. He does. A decent try. Denied by Heaton. Still alive

here potentially with Young. Afflict off Lingard. Away by Tom Heaton, for

Burnley. You just wonder whether this took a touch on the way

through. It did. Caught it sweetly, Paul Pogba. Just clipped off Jeff

Hendrick. Well, he had to turn to Martial and two Rooney today. Both

have responded with goals. Mkhitaryan trying to bend it into

the run of Rashford. Heaton was committed and trying to squeeze it

home for the near post, Marcus Rashford. And how that isn't a

corner, I don't know. Tom Heaton saved it. Peter Kirkup, the

referee's assistant has said goal kick. Heaton outcome, backpedalled,

and saves it. As it stands, this run will stretch to one win in 11

Premier League Elding -- games. He said to me earlier this week they

still don't feel safe. Pogba won it back. Now Rashford to Pogba's left.

Mkhitaryan to his right. They all stood off Pogba, just wide of the

target in the end and they backed off, he saw the gap and it just went

the wrong side of the post from Paul Pogba. His last Premier League goal

was back in 2016. I'm sure he expected a tough day at the office,

but ultimately a good end to a great week.

Point behind Manchester City heading to the Etihad on Thursday? Yes, now

we have the same number of matches and one pointless, obviously. They

play now one match per week until the end of the season. We have the

semifinals that are very important for us. It's more difficult for us,

but we are going to try. How pleased were you to be back in the starting

XI today? Yes, of course, you want to play games and I'm thankful I've

done that today. I'm pleased I got the goal. I think the most important

thing of course was the three points and keeping a good run going and

building momentum. Although you've done 250 times for this club, when

you get a goal like today, is it still was a rush, the same feeling?

Yes, scoring the goal is the best feeling in football and obviously

winning trophies is the pinnacle in terms of your team, but on an

individual point of view it's the best feeling is scoring goals. You

said earlier in the week you still don't feel 100% safe. Is that the

same after the weekend results? I don't think anybody does. You have

to do what you have to do unknown to the -- and until it's done we keep

fighting and working until we've got everything we can get. You want

another win as soon as possible you want as many wins on the table, the

fact is we've been down this road a few times at the other end of the

market. Obviously the Championship at once before, when we are fighting

for every point so we know what it's about. It's about taking the next

four. Let's start with Anthony Martial who

flourished today in a season where he maybe hasn't flourished in. He

has had some problems off the pitch and taken some criticism from the

merger, which is never nice but responded in the right way. He

played centrally, which was a bit of a surprise when Rooney was starting

as well. I like this, I want to run behind. With his pace... He is a bit

short on matches but the intention was there and I like that. Strong,

powerful. We have seen his talent last season, we know the qualities

he has got, it is the consistency and desires sometimes that has been

questioned. This is unbelievable, great feat, he is off. I would

suggest jury could have been a bit more cynical there and brought him

down but he tries to do the honest thing. Good pass from Herera and it

is calmness in front of goal, it is a good finish from Marshall. There

are parts of his game he could work on -- from Martial. There are times

when you play the lone striker role and you need to be a bit more

dependent and reliable, but when he gets in the final third, he goes at

people, he scares defenders. Nice and positive. The more games he

gets, the more confident he will get, but the linkup play with Rooney

was nice. He mixes his game up quite well, comes to feed, spins behind.

But when you play in that role, you do have to be a team player and

there, I am thinking you have the bust a gut to get into the box

because Rooney has no one to cross do. The more he plays that, the

better he will get at it. Again, bust a gut, give your partner

adoption, but -- an option, but overall, very good after the

negativity he has had. Is that the way he should be playing? You can

look at Rashford over the last month and his impressive form has come

when he has gone through the middle and now you see it with Martial. You

can't just play one position and expect to play there. Matty Blair

get back, I had to play right midfield to get in the Liverpool

team -- Matty played left back. You have to work hard whatever position

new player and the more comfortable you get and the more wisdom you get

on the pitch, you might move centrally. You can't just want to

play in one position. But, yes, he is better there. It might have

sounded ridiculous in September or October, but Manchester United fans,

I think, would be more concerned about Marcos Rojo's injury, because

they have people to replace others, but how did his understudy do today?

I don't think they had too much to worry about today, they were

massively tested that what they did do, they did very well and formed

quite a classic partnership. You have Bailey, who is more of the

enforcer, and blind is a lot more composed -- Eric Bailly. Lined

showing real instinct to get at the near post and cover. Pace isn't an

asset, so he shows his intelligence there to hold him up. It is using

his brain and understanding his limitations. His distribution looks

effortless, but I can tell you it is well skilled, the accuracy of his

balls and the weight of his passing. And then you have his partner, who

is very different. He is a bit all action and throws himself in the way

of things. Desperate to get a block in on the edge of the box. He makes

aggressive choices and he is the out and out defender, he enjoys getting

blocks in American tackles and today, they formed a really good

partnership. They coped really well today. Are you concerned about

Burnley, given the situation and given the momentum that Hull and

Swansea have below them? Only Middlesbrough have one fewer matches

over ten games and there is a 5-point gap between them and

Swansea. I think there is a little concerned there but they have two

home games coming up against teams they will really fancy themselves

against. It wasn't one of Burnley's best performances today but I think

they will be OK. I would rather have points on the board, because the

others have got to win some games. And West Brom and West Ham, to use a

cliche, haven't really got anything to play for. No, absolutely. Burnley

are looking over their shoulder a little bit, it is a dangerous

situation for them. Sean Dyche won't let them rest on their laurels.

A world-class finish from a world-class player! What strike. To

add to the collection of Harry Kane. Look at this from N'Golo Kante,

brilliant. And Lukaku finishes as Lukaku does.

The shimmy, the pink, its magnificent -- the dink. And the

2017 men's player's Player of the Year is N'Golo Kante.

APPLAUSE This season, N'Golo Kante has

featured in the PFA Premier League team of the year. He of course won

the Premier League title in only his first season last year and

successfully broke into the French starting line-up.

Very, very many congratulations. How does it feel here to be honoured

with the men's PFA players' Player of the Year. Good evening everyone.

It is unusual to be chosen by the players and it is very special. What

an impact you have made to live in the Premier League, obviously with

Leicester, you won the Premier League title. Quite possibly on

course for another one. It is not a bad beginning to live in England's

top-flight. My first two seasons are very beautiful, last season was very

beautiful and so far, this is a good season and we have to finish well

but so far, very good season. What is the secret behind your success? I

have to improve to work for the team, to win, to win every time and

we have to finish the season very well. You are a very, very popular

winner here tonight. So very many congratulations. Ladies and

gentlemen, the men's PFA Players' Player of the Year, N'Golo Kante.

Deserved, Matthew? 100%. I know, Danny, you kind of agree but

has slightly different views but for me, he is the most valuable player

in the Premier League with his contribution. He might not be the

most creative or sudden impact wise, but over the course of the season,

the most valuable player in the Premier League. You are learning,

Danny agrees are some things and then will disagree. I said before he

is the one you can't replace. So if Hazard isn't there, you can put

Will.i.am in but Hazard against the other big boys has turned the game

the Chelsea -- you can put Willian in. Kante is the best midfielder in

the Premier League, if not Europe. The other thing that came through

from watching those pictures, the warmth in the room towards him,

which I guess might not always be the case when you go to these

things, I have never been, but real warmth. But the way he plays, who

plays with a smile, he has this big smile on his face and his attitude

and the way... I think that is the other thing, every week, you know

what this guy is delivering. I don't know if you can say that about

Hazard but week in, week out, this guy does the business.

And a few minutes ago, the Women's Player of

These were the names to look out for.

And Lucy Bronze scores the opening goal.

And it is in from Ross. It is Jill Scott who has applied the finish.

And the women's Player of the Year goes to Lucy Bronze. Lucy wins this

award for the second time, having previously won it back in 2014. She

scored the winning goal... To win the award and as a defender as well,

you don't really get a lot of accolades but it is a great award to

win and to have it voted for by all of the opposition players, it makes

it really special. And you have been part of what we have spoken about,

the invincible team at Manchester City. How proud are you to have

played a part in that? Very proud, it shows in the team of the year and

the nominees for both young and senior player that, as a team, we

have been very successful and all the individuals have performed

really well in the team. And this award for me is with all of my

thanks for the players on the team, because without them, I would be

anywhere near this. Too good to bad still to come but first, Saturday's

goals and we start in the Vitality stadium -- two Good two Bad still to

Daniels. What a goal, absolutely superb from Joshua King. Bournemouth

ahead in just over a minute and a half. Daniels. He has got the

beating of him and he nearly found King again. That is a profitable

It is a second yellow card and it goes from bad to worse for

lines and once more, they are made to pay for it.

Fraser to Charlie Daniels. Daniel is still going. It is four. And it is

turning into quite a party for Bournemouth against the ten men of

Middlesbrough, who are enduring a wretched afternoon.

Half Mason Holgate's cross for Lukaku to attack and it nearly came

through the Calvert-Lewin. The first meaningful ball hit into the West
