right here. The long-awaited draw will be taking place in just a few

minutes in Paris. 24 teams in the pot for next summer Buzz in France,

and we shall be keeping a very close eye on England, Northern Ireland,

Wales and not forgetting the Republic of Ireland. For two of the

home nations, it has been quite a while since they have packed their

bags for a major finals. It took the best team in the world

Paris of some of the key people playing a role in the draw. It is

new territory for us, we have to be careful that we don't get

overexcited and not just along for the right and the experience. Has to

be more than that. I have looked at the different teams in the different

pots. I would not say there is a team I would want especially, one I

would like to avoid especially, so we will see what comes tomorrow. As

I say, we have played a lot of big teams in the last three or four

years but we will be ready for whoever comes out. We don't really

want England in that group stage, because I just think you get lost in

that, Wales against England, everyone wants to beat England, they

are a great team. Those first three games it is not just about winning

one game, no matter how we do it, we have to get enough points to get out

of the group. That is what it is all about. I just think if it was

England in the group stages, maybe we would get sidetracked a little

bit. It is not a game I would really like, it is just the nature of it,

maybe it would overshadow the other two games. At the end of the day,

three points are available for every game and we have to aspire to get

enough points to get out of the group. It is not a game I would pick

but equally if we are drawing England than we would look forward

Infantino, as we hear him being welcomed onstage by one of the

co-hosts, Ruud Gullit. Possible new president of Fifa next year. Good

evening, ladies and gentlemen. I am pleased to be with you the light, as

we conduct the draw for Uefa Euro 2016 final tournament. We are in

Paris, and iconic city which, just a few weeks ago, witnessed deeply

tragic events. Therefore, before we start draw proceedings, I would like

to take this opportunity, in the name of Uefa, to express my

solidarity towards all French people during these difficult times. Our

thoughts are with all of those affected by the attacks of the 13th

of November. APPLAUSE Tonight putter is an historic

occasion, as for the first time ever 24 teams are taking in a Euro finals

tournament. The decision to expand the European Championship has

already proven its worth, as we all saw a thrilling qualifying

competition, notable for a series of unpredictable results and an

expected final group standings. Consequently, several nations will

be making their first ever appearance at a Euro, and we are all

firmly convinced that this will be a fantastic tournament for everyone

involved. But now it is time for us to take a look at the technical

seizure governing today's. 24 teams will participate in the

Uefa 2016 finals tournament. The host nations France and the 23 teams

that progressed from the qualifiers. They will be drawn into six groups

of four teams, they are classified on the basis of the national team

coefficient rankings and divided in the four seeding pots. Pot one, five

teams, since France has already been allocated to position a one. It

starts with pot one. One ball is drawn, and assigned to position B1.

And so on until Group F. The draw continues with pot for. -- pot four.

The position of this within Group A is also determined by a draw. A

second drawn from pot four. Again, the position is one, and this

procedure is repeated for all teams in pot four. The draw continues with

pot three and continues with pot too. Each time a team is drawn, the

position is determined by a draw. At the end of the draw, each final

tournament group will be composed of one team from each pot. -- pot two.

So that is the procedure. Here is a look at all five teams in

the pot coming up, and that look will start with the hosts, France.

The last host nation to win the title in 84, champions in 2000,

captained by the current coach Didier Deschamps. They could win it

again. Spain, reigning champions, nine qualifying wins in ten after

to Germany, world champs, favourites here, landing punches. England, only

the fifth country to qualify with a 100% record. They can

England. England. England, which qualified with ten wins out of ten

matches, quite impressive, two-time semifinalist. The last time in 1996,

when they were hosts. England will join Group B. 11th of June will be

the kick-off date for England. They really wanted

concludes Pot 1. They are not a remarkable team. They have a good

under-21 side coming through. We move on to Pot 4. The four teams

making their Euro debut. Albania, Iceland, Northern Ireland and Wales

ranking in six years, recovered from a terrible opening three qualifiers

playing? They are playing against France.

at some stage. Wales. Oh. Chris Coleman said he didn't really it at

this stage. He thought it would be a bit of a circus. They will play

England, as you have already seen. Let's see which position Wales and

England - never beat with England in a competitive game drew with them in

73, the years of Lleyton James. Beaten in the last two competitive

games. Wales will kick-off their campaign on the 11th June in

Bordeaux. They will play England on the 16th.

Going with Germany. Northern Ireland, they won their Group as

well. Their first ever Europe participation. Their last tournament

was in 86, in the World Cup. They will play Group C in Germany. They

might get tips against Germany from Martin O'Neill and the Republic.

They dodged Germany in their opening game. They will kick-off in Nice on

the 12th. The last three teams. In Pot 4.

Turkey. They qualified as the best third placed team, semi-finalist in

2008. The coach watching on, Fatih Terim. We will now it find out in

which position. Turkey had a terrible start to qualifying.

Conceded just three types their last seven games though. D3. Position 3.

D. Spain and Turkey. They dodge the top seeds in their first games. They

are against D4. It has not yet come out. Maybe... Yes. Republic of

Ireland. The Republic of Ireland. They had a tough draw in qualifying.

Play-offs against Bosnia. They play in 2012 in the Euro. They will go

with the world number one in Belgium. Slow starters. Conceded

eight goals in 12 games, including the play-off. Will they kick-off

against Belgium? No, they won't. They will kick-off on the 14th.

Iceland. And Iceland will go in with Portugal. They will join Portugal...

one, rated as the weakest side of the pot having qualified for the

first time as hosts for years ago. -- four years ago. Back for the last

pot, pot two. David. SPEAKS FRENCH. He will shuffled very

well and we will see what team completes the group of France,

Romania, Albania. A fairly easy group for the hosts who will have 20

rest days. Some of the other groups will only have 14. Switzerland. A

gasp from the crowd. Good players, Lichtsteiner, brilliant right back

at Juventus. And they will hand a start against

Albania. That will be in Lens. France will

kick off against Romania. Albania against Switzerland will be the

kick-off. The next team that command will give England their opening game

in Group B. It will be in Marseille. That is where they beat Tunisia in

from 72nd to 10th in the world rankings. They took Russia twice in

England's games, Russia on the 11th, Wales in Lens on 16th. And Slovakia

in Saint Etienne on the 20th. Wales kick-off against Slovakia in

Marseille, move on to that game against England, and finish with

Russia in Toulouse. Northern Ireland kicked off against Poland in Nice on

12th, then Ukraine. Five o'clock kick-off in Lyon.

The Republic of Ireland face Sweden in St Denis on the 13th, then

Belgium, the world number one. Bordeaux on the 18th. Then they face

Italy in Lille on 22nd. If Italy get on a roll, they will be difficult to

stop. England will be happy with the group, Wales will be happy with the

group, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland have real work to do.

If England or Wales when that group they will face a third placed team.

Very complicated as to which third placed team they will play.

to on June 16, but whatever it is, Alan Shearer, you should stop what

you're doing because there is only one place to be. I think England

could be reasonably happy. I am sick of saying whether it is a World Cup

or European champion ship that England will be reasonably happy

with a group, I think we should just get there and see what happens! John

Hartson is there, Mark Lawrenson and Jamie Ward forced everyone of

wanted that, great for the supporters, great on television, the

players will know all about each other. It is not very often you get

an opportunity to play against England. I was fortunate, I got it,

I think the players on both countries will be delighted with

that draw. I think England will be pleased with that role. Steady! It

will get, New York or New Year when you get there but they will be

pleased. Jamie, got asked you about Northern Ireland, it tough, Germany,

Poland. Yes, but we will go there, we will try to fit on a performance,

and we will try to come out with something. We have just got to be

focused and we will be happy with a draw. From a Republic perspective,

the big names kept coming. It is a dog 's dinner for us. Belgium,

Sweden, Italy, very tough, but we are difficult to beat. Come on, be

positive! How do you think the players will be looking at the group

now and seeing Wales come out and how will they treat it? Do they

really want to play another home nation? Yes, why not? I heard Chris

Coleman said beforehand that he didn't really want to play England,

but I think deep down both him and Roy will be delighted. John is

absolutely right, for the fans, for the players, to play against the

players they know very well. I think that will be a game they will look

forward to. Wales will be underdogs, not a bad position to be in.

Everyone will expect England to win. England under pressure in a

tournament normally is not great. Knowing Chris common as I do, the

fact that Slovakia are ranked 20th in the world and they kick off

against Slovakia, they will fancy their chances. You have to respect

for the teams, but when you look at Russia and England, they are

stronger than Slovakia. It is another Tunisia to get off the three

points. But, as you say, that might be enough. Third place out of four,

the six groups, go through. So one when might be enough to take you

through. That is a really good point, there are only eight of the

teams who don't go through to the knockout stages. As John says, a win

might be enough, and maybe nick a point somewhere else and Albie good

enough. When you see all the groups, Alan, and look at England's

prospects, it is wide open. I can't think of another major finals we

have had in recent times, both European Championships and World Cup

finals, that have been at open? You are absolutely right, and that might

work in England's favour. For the first time in a long time we

probably go into this tournament without being disrespectful to any

players but without any real superstars.

If we are honest, it might be a little bit early. But having said

that, you have Kane, Barkley, Stonings, very, very good

goalkeeper. Who knows. We are being looking for progression, aren't we,

with England? France had a bit of luck, didn't they. Did you see their

Group. Albania, Romania and Switzerland. Happy days. Do you

fancy them to win it? What the Group? The whole thing? I do fancy

them to win the whole thing, yeah. I do. I think, you know, the other

thing about what is happening in Paris. When the tournament starts I

think that will be massive for the home nation. How do you think

Michael O'Neill will be feeling now? He will be pretty excited.

Obviously, he'll think about the game. Where we can take points. You

would look at Ukraine in that aspect. These are live pictures.

Chris Coleman is laughing, smiling anyway. For Wales the Republic and

the North it would be tough because they are in the last Pot much you

are looking for a little bit of luck and what you perceive to be the

worst teams in the Group that is are higher. That will always be tough.

England anded Wales have been drawn with Russia and Slovakia in Group B.

They will meet in their second Group on June 16th. England start their

campaign five days earlier fence against Russia and Wales will meet

Slovakia. -- against. The winners of that Group will meet one of the

third placed qualifiers of the last 16? This is England. Let us not talk

about qualifying just yet. Let us enjoy and hope we have a good Group.

It will be an epic match, isn't it? It's a mouth-watering tie to come up

against England for the players. We beat them in the rugby. We have to

do it in the football now. Pity it's a different sport, isn't it? How do

you cope with Gareth Bale? Kick him hard! He's a top player, isn't he.

His record in qualifying, both him and Ramsey, they will be the major

threats to us. That is the problem for Wales and Chris Coleman. If they

get an injury to Gareth Bale or Aaron Ramsey they are in trouble.

With you talk about team spirit, they are the two world-class players

in the side? You can. Can say that when you take one or two players out

of the England squad. You need luck to win any tournament. You need luck

between now and the tournament to keep your best players fit. Momentum

is a big thing in this competition. If you get a positive result in the

first game and build that momentum. Don't forget, as well, massive

support from these four teams. Massive support. How crucial have

the fans been, Jamie? Incredible all the way through. Obviously, they

have not had good times before this tournament. It's been great for the

fans now to have something to cheer about. They have been incredible.

They got behind us every game and travelled away in bigs numbers as

well. The Northern Ireland kick-off their first ever European

Championship campaign against Poland on June 12th. They face Ukraine and

Germany. A tough Group for the Northern Ireland lads. Basically,

beat Germany and who knows, it comes down to that final match. No

pressure whatsoever? No pressure at all. You will be top of the table by

then anyway. It will be great. We have a chance to obviously go and

play against some of the best players in the world now. We will

give it our best shot. Hopefully, our spirit can get us through. Mark

and Alan. We saw it in the World Cup, Germany got better as the

tournament progressed? They time their run right, don't they. They

are well-prepared. They are always going to be a threat and stuff. The

enough. You know, when the tournament comes around, on 10th

June, they will be ready. Let us look at Group E. Martin O'Neill,

Republic of Ireland are up against Sweden, Belgium and Italy in that

order. The womeners of that Group will face a runnerup from one of the

other groups. Martin O'Neill's side will have to do it the very hard

way, even if they do? We are better as under dogs you mentioned the

rugby. That is the way the Republic of Ireland - when we are favourites

we collapse. We are underdogs in our three games. The great thing for the

Republic. We have no star players. This is the least talented squad who

have ever qualified. That speaks volumes for the manager and Roy

Keane and the coaching staff. They work like stink. Because they have

no stars they are very, very difficult to beat. Great dynamic in

all our qualifying games. Young players are coming through. I think

it will be too early for us to win it. If we go and give a good account

of ourselves and everybody gives it all people will accept it. As far as

strikers are concerned, Roy Hodgson is likely to take four strikers. Who

do you think those strikers will be? Rooney, Vardy. Wayne Rooney go as a

striker for you? I think so. Harry Kane. Sturridge. If he's fit. Danny

Welbeck? A big "if." Wonderful position for Roy Hodgson. England

have options am you have players who are not guaranteed places, fighting

for places, that hasn't be been the case for a long time. From that

point of view that is exciting also. England are healthy. I think they

From a players perspective it's about staying fit in the final end

in my international career, Slovakia and Russia. Two newcomers, if you

like, on my CV to play against. We respect them. It's going to be a

question now of course of doing plenty of research between now and

June to make sure we know everything about them as much as we think we

You have to get it right. Sometimes you have an off day, unfortunately.

It doesn't matter who you play. Have you to make sure you concentrate on

ourselves. Look at Slovakia. They had great results, beating Spain,

fantastic. Great campaign for them. Russia is Russia. They have already

won it. They are going to be strong. It doesn't matter who you play, they

will be strong. They will be prepared and they will be ready. You

have to make sure you are the same way. Roy, you know all about one of

the main threats, their threats, Bale, Ramsey. So many players we

know from Premier League football? Well, we know that. Of course we

know the players because all of them play in England. We know most of all

is the fact that the teams are very well-organised. They have played

very, very well together. They have fantastic team spirit and a strong

spine. In Ashley Williams and Ramsey and Gareth Bale. You are talking

about three really, really top-class European players right through the

spine of the team. Chris has done a good job moulding the rest of the

players around that strong spine. You know, we have a lot of respect

for Wales. We have respect for the other teams in the Group as well. I

think when it comes to draws you just are happy to be here. Happy

your name is in the hat. Happy you have are being drawn out to be

played against somebody. It's a Lottery when the guy takes a ball

out of the pot and twirls it around and your name comes out or doesn't.

You take what you get, really. We are more than happy. Chris and I

have been friends for a long time. Whatever happens we will be friends

You said it was like Christmas Day. Do you feel like a Christmas Day kid

who got the presents? Just watching teams come out of the hat there was

so honoured and proud to be here, you know, and representing Wales.

some hot competition. We know that. We know all about England of course.

We know they will be strong, as will Russia and Slovakia. That is why we

Yes. I have been there before in the late 80s. That dayed we played

Day now, I was born in Cardiff, it would be pretty tricky to say I was

born in England now! I wouldn't be allowed home. Had a great show,

let's here from Martin O'Neill. Martin, you knew it would be tough,

up against Europe is Mac elite, but Sweden, Ibrahimovic, Belgium the

world number one, and Italy the old warhorse is, it couldn't get

world number one, and Italy the old tougher, could it? It couldn't.

Italy really should be in pot one, I think, they haven't dropped down the

rankings that much, but they should be considered as a pot one team.

Effectively you are talking about them, the top ranking side in the

world and Sweden to boot. So yes, difficult, aims to look forward to

for the fans but it couldn't be tougher for us. Raina you need to

get momentum going early in a competition finals, and you start

off against the Swedes. We start off against Sweden in Paris. We will get

big support as well, of course Sweden will as well. Again, a game

really to look forward to, let's go for it, let's give absolutely

everything, leave nothing behind. Ibrahimovic will get great support

there, a Paris Saint-Germain player. They Avon man team? I don't think

so. I watched some of their matches in the play-off games and I thought

they were quite strong. You would expect all the things that Sweden

bring to the table, you would expect that from them, and as you mention,

Ibrahimovic is a top-class player. that from them, and as you mention,

strengths, solidity at the that from them, and as you mention,

team spirit, hang on, you have beaten Germany here, you could beat

Belgium, even though they are world number one. I am glad you are

to the time, I thought I was going to enjoy the draw. I'm not so sure

out to study players individually at club level as

is a bit of a maze, I must admit, but we will get down to plotting

something, and hope that these plans stay with us. Was it a joy, though?

I know you have got a tough draw, but was it a joy to be here, at this

stage of your football life, really exciting to be there? About an hour

and a half ago I would have said it was an absolute joy to be here, now

I am not so sure. Deep down, I am, I am delighted we are here, and that

is not giving up. It is a tough draw for us but great excitement for our

fans. They won't consider anything else other than going out there and

giving everything they have got as well. This is for them, and in terms

of expectations, who knows? Martin, it is a joy to see you here and all

the best. He is also still smiling as well. These are the fixtures,

then, for the Republic of Ireland. Let's be clear, when it comes to

Italy, yes they are ranked 15th in the world, but they qualified solid

rather than spectacular. A typical Italian qualification. And they are

a very good team as well. Martin O'Neill makes a very good point,

there are two pot one teams in there, Belgium and Italy. None of us

know how Fifa rankings work anyway, but they are certainly not working

in the Republic's favour. And the opening game at the Stade the

France, so the Irish fans go there for the rugby, six Nations, they

will know very well. That is where we got knocked out with the French

with a certain hand of you know what. Martin O'Neill just said

himself, the Republic will go there and they will have a go. To be fair,

they did ever so well to qualify, the way the qualification went, they

lost to Scotland at Celtic Park, and then they drew at home to Scotland.

Fantastic result against Germany, then they got through a tough

play-off against Bosnia, so they are there now, go and enjoy it. It will

not be lack of effort or application. We talked about Belgium

being eatable, Italy will be difficult to beat, though they are

selling work in progress under Antonio Conte. Imagine the way they

are looking at it, Belgium and Italy, thinking, happy days. What

about the role Troicki has played? Martin O'Neill celebrated the work

he had done in qualifications -- the role that Robbie Keane has played.

Martin O'Neill has been clever with him -- with Rory Keane.

Steve Welford is involved as well, they are quite a tight group, just

like the players are. As said before it is all about the summer of the

parts. They haven't really got any star players that Wales or England

would not take off tough -- Roy Keane.

Jamie is going, touch wood. He will absolutely run himself to death. It

is your big deal. There are 70 players from Northern Ireland,

Republic of Ireland and Wales squads playing with you in the chard. You

have a couple at Forest. It is a big opportunity for us. Hopefully we

will get managers from the Premier League thinking we will take a

chance on the Championship, rather than going abroad and spending

millions, get a cheaper player from the Chamakh row who can do it. Let's

here from a man who will be keeping a very close eye on you in the next

couple of months no doubt, Michael O'Neill. We were talking about

outstanding individuals here and outstanding goal-scorers,

Lewandowski of Germany being one, Thomas Muller being another of

Germany and you have drawn them both. We have indeed. Both showed

what they are capable of in qualification. It is a tough group,

but we expected that regardless. In many ways it is a good challenge for

us. Our strongest options in our team is our centre-backs, so they

will be tested. We have three Premier League centre-backs in our

squad and I think they will relish the challenge of playing against

those two. Northern Ireland have been in tough groups before, they

need to resurrect the spirit of 82. We won the group, people don't

overlook that, we are not here through a play-off second place, we

actually won our group, and top goal-scorers in the group as well.

There are a lot of positives we take into this tournament. As I say,

throughout my time in charge we have always done better the bigger

nations. Portugal, Russia, in the previous campaign, the World Cup

hammer -- will campaign. The lowest seediest side -- the lowest seeded

side ever to win a group, what does that tell you? The spirit that is in

our group, the coefficient is not in our favour and many things appear to

be against us but what we have shown in this group is the capability of a

tremendous work ethic, team spirit, and as I say we were very difficult

to beat, we only lost one game in qualification as well. The best

4/3-place teams will go through, so will you target Ukraine in

particular? Know, for me, having watched tournament football, and I

the Euro is very closely in 2012, I think the most important thing is to

try and take something from your first game. I think you are up

against it then slightly coming into the second game. I think the

fixtures may be work in our favour, the fact that we play Poland and

Ukraine before, we are going to have to put a huge amount into every game

but perhaps the Germany game might be the most demanding for us

physically. Maybe it is better that is game three. Ukraine have the wide

players, if you stop the Polish team might be a bit more

familiar with, other than the German team. We will do a lot of analysis

on the opposition come Junhui will be ready to play. What is it like to

be a tournament as Northern Ireland manager and drawn against the

champions? The experience of being here, being part of it, has been a

phenomenal experience for everyone in the association that has been

over. A very exciting 45 minutes. Now the preparation camp start in

earnest, because we have the detail of who we play, the venues. In the

final game of our group, we play the Germans in Paris. The chief

executive said to me, you have to be the Germans at some point if you are

going to win the tournament, so we say that tongue-in-cheek, but it is

a perfect opportunity for us. These are magnificent games for ask a

country of our size, that have not been in a tournament for 30 years to

be involved, everyone is looking forward it. I am sure they are. A

good question from Jonathan Pierce, would you target Ukraine because the

qualified via the play-offs? That would be understandable if we did,

but I think it is important, like Michael said, that we get momentum,

try to get something out of the first game and carry on with a bit

of the Minton going into the Germany game and Ukraine. It is going to be

tough, we know that, we are not daft. We have not been there before,

I am pretty sure we will run through brick walls together like we have

done already in the campaign. Kyle Lafferty tweeting, a lot of players

are, Kyle Lafferty says it all starts here. That is probably one of

the most sensible things he has ever said! He has a lot of pressure on

his shoulders to score goals again, but I'm sure that the players around

him are capable of providing chances for him on the big stage. Michael

O'Neill made a good point, about the first game, trying to get something

from the first game. If you don't, then you are starting to chase.

Momentum. And also for the club managers, like Dougie Freedman at

Forest, he will want to be in the team every week because he wants to

go to the Euros, so there is a knock-on. The Wales fans who are

watching who have long memories will remember, 2003, John you were in the

side that lost against Russia in a play-off. There is a little bit of

bad blood between Wales and Russia. We owe
