Gianluigi Buffon was not convincing from cross balls against Costa Rica.

have to win. Another strong challenge by Nicolas Lodeiro. Keele

from playing together with Juventus. Alvaro Pereira did not deal with

that particularly well, the second time, he was more successful. He has

got hooked up over his shoulder and clear the danger. Matteo Darmian

made an excellent debut for Italy against Ireland at Craven Cottage.

The touch from Balotelli. No whistle from the referee. It was hooked away

eventually by Rodriguez. Martin Caceres, the offender. Marco

Verratti is up against one of his team-mates, Edinson Cavani, will

that in. It is something that you see from

Balotelli when he plays for Italy. Again, he is more of a threat on the

shoulder defenders. He was makes the first movement to chop off and come

short, when he has got someone like Andrea Pirlo to pick out those

passes. Rodriguez in space for Uruguay, with

the early delivery. He was looking for Nicolas Lodeiro. Almost found

him, as well. That is too strong for Suarez. It was a lovely cushioned

header, good movement from Nicolas Lodeiro, off him, as well.

After the first two games, Italy have switched to a back three. It is

a system that these Juventus players are probably more comfortable and

happy with. If they keep a clean sheet, they are in the last 16. It

is a bruising start to this game in the towel. He could have expected

it, another heavy challenge. This time, Alvaro Pereira, on Marco

Verratti. Andrea Pirlo takes the free kicks

Andrea Pirlo, finding Marchisio. Rodriguez, trying to pick out

seen a lot worse. Inside the last minute of normal time at the end of

A real heavy challenge. That is just him, he does that constantly, the

was in a great spot. He could not have been in a better position. An

deflection on the cross. That was a corner. As if Italy needed one, that

was a timely reminder that when Luis Suarez is around, anything is

possible. Even when he is as isolated as he has been today, he

comes alive in an instant. Brilliant running, straight through the

centre. And the brilliant save by Buffon. In his fifth World Cup,

Italy's most capped player keeps it at 0-0. That scoreline would see

them through to the last 16. A bit of space for Pirlo. Immobile

makes a run ahead of him, and the good challenge by Jose Jiminez. Good

composure from Marco Verratti, centrally. Good movement from

Immobile. And the wonderful challenge. Trying to get his strike
