It's been another day of twists and turns in the most open Barclays

Plenty for Danny Murphy and Ian Wright to ponder

Can they still produce over 90 minutes?

We start with the day's early game which saw leaders Manchester City

The visitors have often struggled at the Britannia Stadium.

Last season's victory was their first in the Premier League.

COMMENTATOR: Windy conditions at Stoke games aren't unusual. There is

added extra that could have an affect on how things play out today

as the edge of Storm Desmond batters the Britannia. Going from last

weekend's linedup at Sunderland, Mark Hughes has made a couple of

changes. Cameron and Afellay play. It's the same sort of formation that

was played by Liverpool in their 4-1 at Manchester City two weeks ago.

For the visitors, no Yaya Toure, no Sergio Aguero and still no Vincent

Kompany. But still not a bad looking side, even without three such key

players. The Fernando is fit and comes back. Joe Hart is back in goal

after missing two matches. Sagna. Away by De Bruyne. Bojan on

it. Shaqiri. Gets the return from Johnson and tries to take the long

way round Fernando. Round he goes, and pass Kolarov. A good ball in,

and it's finished. Arnautovic puts Stoke in front. Superbly anticipated

that by the big Austrian. How well made was it by the little Swiss?

Stoke's first meaningful foray down field of the afternoon. Shaqiri all

about determination, but a bit of pace and trickery too. Fired across

the middle. Hart hesitant. You couldn't use that word at all to

describe Arnautovic. Fernando left behind. Kolarov, too. As Hart looked

at Depp demd and vice versa, Arnautovic is in ahead of Sagna --

Demichelis. Stoke are making it impossible for Manchester City to

get any sort of rhythm going on the ball. Maybe now with De Bruyne. Wins

the race. Wollscheid, overcommitted. Saved by Butland. De Bruyne was

looking for a fourth goal in his last three games. Here's Cameron.

Kolarov is there with him. Great work by Shaqiri. Knew where Fernando

was. Knew what he do with it. Stoke City get another. Marko Arnautovic

gets another. It's the same combination. There's a plan at work,

and it's being executed perfectly. Marko Arnautovic gets two. Two in 15

minutes for Stoke. Shaqiri, again. Wonderful spin away from Fernando.

Pass weighted perfectly. Arnautovic with a fine finish. Another one!

That's a difficult one to take. Look at this? Running away from Sagna.

The he has a look at goal early, and he has to go first time. The

confidence is surging through Stoke City.

Great work by Pieters. Now Whelan. Curled away from Demichelis. It's

only just wide from Arnautovic. Well, they're all at it in Stoke

stripes. Pieters and Whelan with a wonderful combination. Manchester

City, unbeaten in the Premier League this season when captain Vincent

Kompany has been in their side. They've lost three of six without

him. It looks like being four of seven at the moment. Fernandinho to

Silva, Sterling. Kolarov's coming. Oh, Kolarov nearly squeezed it in.

Like he did against Southampton a week ago. That's a boot from Butland

and the ball onto the post. It's another important stop by England's

number two, or number one if you're a Stoke fan. Sterling has to work.

Johnson is at it again. Onside, again. Is Arnautovic? Hat-trick

chance. Hart is out to meet him. Goodness me. This movement is quite

wonderful. It's the man behind, Demichelis, who is playing

Arnautovic on. You just wonder how much the slip cost him here. As he

strikes it, standing foot just slides away. Fernandinho. A chance

for Stoke to break here. Afellay to Shaqiri. He's at it again, swerves

and tricks and flicks. And, he's been fouled. By Otamendi, who gets

the first booking of the game. Shake hake has been the real are star of

the show today. Kolarov sold short by that. Great chance here again for

Bojan. Saved by Hart. It's just wide from, you know who, Marko Arnautovic

once more. Joe Hart has just kept Manchester City in the game with

that big, strong hand. Demichelis, again, forced to hurry. Here's

Bojan. Finds Arnautovic. Shaqiri couldn't get the touch. More

backheels, more instinctive touches paying off for Stoke City. You can

see there, Arnautovic is quite deliberately and unselfishly trying

to set up Shaqiri and return a couple of favours. Measured ball to

Johnson. Shaqiri. He's got another one through. Bojan. Hart has blocked

him. It's cleared off the line by the retreating Demichelis. What a

pass again from Shaqiri. Fernando has limped from the field. The

chance of winning this game has just become a great deal slimmer. They

are playing with 10 for the rest of it. Delph. He's going to have to do

the work of two men in the midfield now. Sterling to Iheanacho.

Sterling. I think the wind is getting worse down that end. Here's

Kolarov. He went to try to smack it in. That's a very good day to be a

Stoke fan. On course for a sixth win in nine Premier League games. This

is a big scalp. I was pleased from start to finish to be perfectly

honest. It arguably was a complete performance by ourselves. In terms

of what we talked about before the game, about what we wanted to do in

the game, and it was great from that respect because you can talk all you

like it's up to the guys to implement what you want them to do

and carry it out. That is what they did. It's not just because we defend

very bad in the first two goals they had. We didn't have too many chances

to score. Without reaction from the last games, we are playing with 13

players in all the competitions. Against difficult team as Stoke

here. They played really well. A few of the lads feeling it from the

amount of games we are playing. That's not an excuse, at the level

we are going to be at, we need to turn out, you noi, seven out of ten

at least every week and then we need to rely on some players to produce

eight, nines. That is how we should be playing and we're not. We didn't

today. Credit to Stoke, they served to play. Your partnership with

Arnautovic seems to be coming along? We train in the training all day,

all week. The coach wants this in the game. We tried in the game. I

thought today we was very good. Our friendship was very, very good. We

won't tell defenders who ares willening, when will we see the flip

flap again Soon, maybe soon. He is full of tricks. Terrific today. At

times like this sometimes we can concentrate on the inept towed of

the side towards the top of the table. Stoke deserve their praise.

Magnificent weren't they? The best Stoke performance I think I've ever

seen. It was that good much I was surprised at the formation. Midfield

be fitter now. Little step over and a great ball in. That man,

Arnautovic, getting in off that left-wing, where he should be more

often, by the way. Again, Shaqiri looking for his mate. What a superb

pass that is. Great finish. Precision. It carried on. He's

strong much help wants the ball, Shaqiri, in dangerous areas.

Arnautovic is drifting now. Threatening the goal now. Last

season he wasn't doing that so much. With Bojan at the vocal point they

had someone who was aware of their movement and runs. Second-half it

continued. How City didn't concede more, I don't know. Bojan skipping

past people like they are not there. Arnautovic could have had four or

five today. He was on the end of all the good moves. Again Bojan and his

close control. The three linking. Not the best shot from Shaqiri. He

has a better left auto foot than that. The midfield lads pressing.

The front three know something will happen. Look at the confidence. They

have missed him. Why he is not shooting there, I don't know. You

would never have passed that. Can't believe that. Could have scored a

hat-trick. We have given Stoke their deserved eulogy if you like. City,

failed to win again, what is wrong When you look at the defending of

City, like Danny said, you can't take anything from what Stoke did

today. City's defending. Fernando, in with Shaqiri. He goes to ground.

The he goes to ground. Then you look up in the top corner there,

Arnautovic, he's got the march on him already on Sagna. His body

position is wrong. Had a look for him. Not seen him. Have another

look. Arnautovic is gone. Inside him, he can't let him get inside him

there. Easy gone. Fernando dives in. Shaqiri beats him. Now, he's on the

right side. This is about desire now. Demichelis can go back four or

five yards. This is all about the ball now. Fantastic ball. Brilliant

finish. The defending, very, very good. Missing that fella? They are

missing him so much. If you look at their statistics, incredible. Eight

games with him, no losses. Seven games without him four losses. They

talk about injuries to other players. He's the crucial man. He's

the leader. They have missed a few players out their spine, Toure and

Aguero. He is complaining 13 players fit and lots of big games. It's

Manchester City they have so much wealth, how does that happen? I have

no sympathy. We counted up the front four ?160 million. They can't make a

chance today. Attack it. Defensively they were poor. Attacking wise they

were even poorer. OK. City's defeat meant Leicester would go top with a

victory at Swansea after scoring in 11 consecutive games, Jamie Vardy

was targeting the all-time top-flight record of 12 set back in

1932. Swansea, with just one win in ten were the oppositioning. At the

Liberty Stadium Conor McNamara. Already more goals than any

Leicester City player has managed in an entire campaign in the Premier

League. Bafetimbi Gomis start the season in fantastic form, but today

he is looking for his first goal since August. As much as Leicester

City have been a surprise package, Swansea City's poor form has been a

big surprise, and it victory today for Garry Monk would go a long way

towards keeping the walls from the door.

Kyle Bartley was forced by Jamie Vardy to take another touch. Jamie

Vardy has profited by finishing goals this season, but it is work

like that, chasing lost causes, that have been a huge part of his

success. It is over the line. The celebration by Riyad Mahrez. His

ninth goal for Leicester City this season. They could be going to the

top of the Premier League tonight. He is one of the smallest men on the

pitch. Riyad Mahrez did not get off the ground at all. He was able to

smuggle it through. It came off his rib cage. It is a really good start

for Leicester City. Swansea City find themselves behind again.

Swansea beat Manchester United at the end of August, they moved up to

fourth place. They have had one victory since. There has been no

threat at all for the home side. It is saved by Lukas Fabianski from

Jamie Vardy. Jamie Vardy chasing the all-time record of 12 straight games

scoring in the top flight of English football, and he is denied by Lukas

Fabianski. Riyad Mahrez makes it 2-0, with

complete ease. It is too easy. Leicester City almost nonchalant

lake over the halfway line, look at the space for Riyad Mahrez. Was he

offside? Lovely control and finish. Swansea might have a complaint about

whether he was in an offside position of the pass was released

from N'Golo Kante. But the goal has been given. Swansea find themselves

2-0 down with 22 minutes on the clock. A deflection off Neil Taylor,

but no doubt about it from Riyad Mahrez, his 10th goal of the season.

Again, Lukasz Fabianski saves one-on-one. Not for the first time

in the game. I wonder if there was a chance to set it up for Jamie Vardy.

Would that have been the better option?

Swansea are at home, it is almost half-time, they have not managed a

shot yet. That really should have been 3-0. Leonardo Ulloa scored

against Swansea the last time they met. It was almost a case of pick

your spot. That will be a free kick. Ki

Sung-Yeung will be meat of the sandwich Christian Fuchs and Robert

Huth. You can only imagine the scene in the Swansea dressing room at

half-time, Garry Monk will have been stressing that his team should have

a good start to the second half. Jefferson Montero has just come on.

A really good header from Ki Sung-Yeung. He is yet to score this

campaign, he got eight goals last season. Kasper Schmeichel was not

near it. That sums up Swansea's day. Swansea looking to get Jefferson

Montero into the game. It was just too high. There has been

a marked improvement from Swansea since the break.

It is the hat-trick. Leicester City proving what a team they are, Jamie

Vardy, chasing the record, does not go for goal, he sets up the

hat-trick for Riyad Mahrez, who has now scored 11 goals this season.

Leicester City are going to the top of the Premier League tonight. There

are to grow and grow. With all the talk around Jamie Vardy, Leicester

City prove they have more than one man who knows where the back of the

net is. This time it is over the top.

Chasing a goal in the 12th consecutive Premier League game, to

continue the run, to match Jimmy Dunn from 1932. He has had chances

today, Jamie Vardy, he knows that. He still has over a quarter of an

hour to get that goal. Swansea just lacking the forward

thrust. A really good shot, they have hit the woodwork. He could

hardly have hit that any sweeter. Just the sense that the Wolves are

beginning to circle. 20 seconds of stoppage time remaining. Appeals for

a penalty of the hands of Ashley Williams. Jamie Vardy goes down, the

referee is not interested. They would love a penalty to set up a

scoring chance for Jamie Vardy. There is the full-time whistle.

Jamie Vardy's goal-scoring run comes to an end, but Leicester City's

story might just be beginning. It is very difficult to analyse it,

but I am extremely disappointed for the fans, for the players. It is not

acceptable. I am fully aware of that. It is for me to put it right.

We won, we are top of the league, I have scored a hat-trick, so I feel

very good, I am very happy. The first hat-trick in my small career.

I am very happy. You are going to be a target for the other teams, but

your players are dealing with it well, they are relaxed, they are

smiling. Yes, we don't have pressure, our pressure is to do our

best, match after match, that is our goal. Now there will be a rock

against us, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City. It is

good to see how we react. So inspiring! Top scorers in the

league, the only team to score in every game, the top two

goal-scorers, top of the table, but I will not gloat! A lot of talk

about Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, but you are going to pick out

somebody else, a hidden gem. I would be disappointed if I have scored a

hat-trick and did not get analysis, but N'Golo Kante... Give a brother a

chance! He was absolutely phenomenal today. He has been brilliant all

season. He has gone under the radar a bit. He is good at all aspects. A

nice pass, getting the team up the pitch. Can he see a pass? Yes, he

picks out Riyad Mahrez for the second goal. He also has the

tenacity and willingness to get after people and Wimbledon back

interceptions, tackles. It is crucial when you have the attacking

players are around you, you need somebody who can put his foot in. He

takes a whack, he gets them on the attack. Look at that for

anticipation. Somebody in the middle of the park who has got every aspect

of midfield play. Can he see a pass? What a ball that is. The only

thing missing so far is goals, but that will come if he keeps getting

in good areas. That is for the hat-trick, he has won 40 yards with

the ball. Game over. His performance, nobody in the Swansea

midfield could get close. The most in the elite interceptions, by a

long way. His fitness levels and energy, while, he looks incredible.

A great signing, for just a few million. It did not quite happen for

Jamie Vardy, he is in a slump! I was gutted for him, he had chances. He

made this one himself. He is too straight. He does not give himself

an angle. He cannot get himself around it. This deserved a goal. It

was nonchalant, but why not? I thought he could have been a bit

more ruthless. A super run. The pass from N'Golo Kante is fantastic. The

way he has been scoring, 11 on the spin, with those chances, I thought

he would have scored. Less good news for Swansea. Struggling, one victory

in 11, no goals in seven of those games, Garry Monk takes

responsibility. Will he get the chance to turn it around? I hope so,

it is a stark contrast from the beginning of the season. They have

lost confidence, the way they play is not helping, because they are

trying to play out from the back, they are all over the place

defensively. The second game at home that they have conceded two in the

first 20 minutes. The next couple of games are huge. One of those is

Manchester City away. It's three games without a win

for Arsenal who started the day Sunderland arrived at the Emirates

having won three of their last five Petr Cech has waited five weeks to

keep his record equalling Premier League clean sheet. Four of the last

seven games between these clubs have ended goalless. The injuries mean a

switch to central midfield for Aaron Ramsey. Sunderland are also hit by

injuries. Fabio Borini and Duncan Watmore come in, it is only Duncan

Watmore's second Premier League start. Sunderland have a poor record

at Arsenal, they have not won at Arsenal since November 1983, at

Highbury. They could have taken the lead

through Borini. Oh, what a chance that was. Sam Allardyce's plan to

play Borini wide on the right nearly came off in the opening stages.

Borini, who was through really on Petr Cech. So close, perhaps, to

what may prove to be one of Sunderland's best chances. Watmore

is down the left hand side. Mertesacker is the defender. He has

given him more space than he should have done. If he gets a cross in

here - which he did - Borini. Again, Arsenal are just not focused back

there. Borini, with two defenders, who should have done their job,

leaving it to Petr Cech for the second time much the faces of the

supporters suggest there is an uneasiness inside the Emirates. It

may be stating the obvious, but you can see how Arsenal are going to

miss the likes of Cazorla and Sanchez. Having said that. Perhaps

they are not going to miss them. Campbell for Arsenal. Scored at

Swansea. Now opens his Premier League account at the Emirates. Puts

a dummy in his mouth, but he certainly sold one to the Sunderland

defence. When Arsenal were looking a little bit strained. They survived a

rocky opening period, but this is how quickly football can change.

He's got the better of him. Slid the ball under Pantilimon. Campbell

gives Arsenal the lead. Through the legs of the goalkeeper. That sends a

wave of relief around the greater part of the Emirates Stadium. Ha-ha!

Watmore was fouled by Koscielny. A yellow card for Koscielny, that's

for sure. I don't think that was a very good challenge. Watmore

certainly doesn't! Sunderland have a free-kick. M'Vila will take it.

Coming up to half-time. Near-post ball. Oh, it's in. I think it's a

Giroud own-goal. He was sold a dummy at the near-post. Sunderland have

equalised right on half-time. Olivier Giroud, who is used to

scoring at the other end, has brought Sunderland the equaliser.

Driven in low. Watch the dummy. He was expecting a Sunderland player to

come in behind him. Instead, it ricocheted off Giroud and past Petr

Cech whose chances of equalling the clean sheet record have disappeared.

1-1. Even when Arsenal scored, I felt they looked vulnerable at the

other end. It's proved so. So what lies ahead for Arsenal in this

second-half? They didn't start the first half very well. They will be

looking for a better beginning to the second. This is Watmore, picking

it up from Fletcher. Fletcher, again. Oh, a scram bling save by

Cech. He has pushed the ball out for a corner. Arsenal, still not looking

comfortable. Kaboul has come forward. Oh, off Petr Cech, again.

Appeal it has crossed the line. Fletcher is on the ground. Here's

the corner. Taken by M'Vila. Well, Petr Cech made a good save. Kept the

ball the right side of the line from Steven Fletcher. Campbell. Ozil.

Here's Monreal. Ramsey. Oh, a chance. And it's in! Olivier Giroud

puts Arsenal in front for the second time. He's made it 10 for the

season, Giroud. So Giroud has now scored at both ends here. Good

near-post header, took it well. Monreal joining the attack as well.

Giroud, just glideded that in really. And, Pantilimon beaten by

his near-post here. In the meantime, Theo Walcott has come on in place of

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. This is the sort of period they will want him to

play in he's going to prove his fitness for Olympiakos on Wednesday.

There he goes, down the middle. Ozil. Walcott, again. Just jabs it

across the goal rather than forward. Well, Arsenal have now - oh, another

chance. Oh, goodness me. Bellerin joining the attack there. Could have

made it 3-1. This second-half has hinged on two incidents. The one

when Petr Cech made a goal-line save from Steven Fletcher, and then the

poacher, Olivier Giroud, at the other end, making it 2-1 to Arsenal.

Giroud, again! Off the line this time by Yedlin. Arsenal look an

altogether more potent force. Well, Yedlin was perfectly placed there to

head that off the line from Giroud. Here's Yedlin. Sunderland are still

probing away here. There's a run by Watmore, the flag has stayed down.

It's Duncan Watmore who scored from that kind of position against Stoke

last week. I thought he was going to do it again. Well, this young man is

going to go places, isn't he? Every time you see him, he's running at

defenders and didn't quite get the angle right this time. Whatever you

say about this Sunderland performance you would say they are

showing a resistance and spirit under Sam Allardyce. Rodwell. Oh,

they have a chance on the far... And he's missed it. Van Aanholt had a

chance to equalised for Sunderland much he strikes it too high.

Otherwise Sam Allardyce would have been celebrating an equaliser.

Gibbs. This is Ozil. He has tucked it back to Ramsey, who looked odds

on to score and make it 3-1 for Arsenal. Those chances are ones

normally that Ramsey would take. Sunderland got the block in. I don't

think I've ever been in a crowd here which has been quite as edgy as

this. This is Monreal. This could ease their nerves, Ramsey. Touched

on by Gibbs to Walcott. Walcott can square this, surely. It's Ramsey.

And, Arsenal have gone 3-1. Aaron Ramsey gets the clinching goal.

Arsenal seal the points. Walcott got a touch, first of all. When it came

back across the six-yard line, Ramsey, who had one saved a minute

or two earlier, he wasn't going to miss again. It's 3-1 Arsenal. Aaron

Ramsey and the Emirates can breathe a shy of relief because three points

here now belong to a shy of relief because three points

here now belong to Arsenal. I believe that we started a Bittner

vows and edgy in the first half and wanted just to make sure we do the

job well. To say this Premier League is a battle, every game you must

give credit to Sunderland as well. They played a quality game,

well-organised. Always dangerous on the break. That makes the game

difficult. The encouraging thing is the performances and the chances we

created against Arsenal on their own patch. The disappointed we didn't

convert it to get our lead. Which goal did you prefer the first or

second? The first one was not easy to put in. The second one I liked

the second one because I had a good cross at the right time and right

place. Very much so. Important victory for Arsenal, Ian. I suppose

Ramsey, who you picked out, was pivotal in that victory Yes. Most

touches, passes and shots. I apleased he is playing down the

middle. Played in the midfield with Flamini. You know with Aaron Ramsey

wants to get forward and in the box. That is what he

wants to get forward and in the box. That is what he does. Great play

from Monreal. Picks Borini's pocket. He will get on the edge of the box.

Unfortunate, misses the target. The worrying thing is, Ramsey is in

there. Flamini is in there as well. Is that bad? I think so. He is the

holding player. You want him to be back in case, to stop the

counter-attack. Here, this is brilliant play from him. Monreal

goes inside. He peels off the back of Yedlin. This is the goal here.

Brilliant ball. All the pace and width. Giroud does brilliantly to

direct it in. What he does there is fantastic. Ozil again, fantastic

pass. You see him running off M'Vila, he is pointing to someone to

pick him up. Maybe he should have been doing. Gets in front of the

ball, does a side ways scissor kick. Unfortunate. The ball is stuck in

the middle of his feet. Outside of the foot. A toe-poke may have helped

him out there. He gets his goal. Going forward, nice ball back to

Gibbs. Stays in the play. Gets himself back on side. Ball out to

Callum, he has a shot which deflects in to him. Because he is in the box

he gets the goal. I'm delighted. Listening to Sam Allardyce in the

interview saying lots to be encouraged by. At the same time,

they made opportunities, but they missed them. It could have been

different the game in Borini had scored early on? Absolutely. Four

minutes in. They get a break here. Watmore does very well. Fletcher

does well. He plays him in. It's a really good pass from him. I think

this is a poor touch. He has a poor touch. He could get another touch in

there. We will see it from the other angle I think he is rushing. I don't

know why he is rushing. Don't panic. He is behind you. Don't panic. Watch

here, Monreal is too far away. Mertesacker, he can get a touch in.

When we see it from the other angle. When he has the shot. You see it

from here. All on his feet. Sidefooting. Wants to get power in

that. That needs to be with the laces. It's a poor touch. In his

feet. He has to side-foot that will not trouble someone like Petr Cech.

Defeat for Sunderland things look more encouraging than perhaps a few

weeks ago, would you say? Much more encouraging much I thought they

played better today than certain games I've seen them win. Organised.

They made chances. They had a bit of bad luck and poor finishing. More

performances like that I think they will be fine. As Sam said if

Jermaine Defoe was on the end of that I would fancy him.

Champions League and Monday at Leicester City. You just got your

head on it first? I am pretty sure! Charlie Daniels is trying to tell me

otherwise, but it is my goal! We are gaining confidence, and I feel it is

beginning to pay off. We can start with the goal. Jose

incredible. I talked about Swansea earlier not doing it, being too

nervous, Bournemouth played like a side that are mid-table with no

worries, passing it about. This is at the start of the game. The

midfield three were excellent. Dan Gosling playing it to Joshua King, a

good save I Thibaut Courtois. Chelsea had their moments, but

Bournemouth matched them, they were confident, they played height of the

pitch, they got men forward. This does not look like a side in the

bottom three. It is gorgeous football. On another day, they could

have had a goal in the first half. They have gone a bit in the second

half, of course, but thoroughly deserved it. Bournemouth have scored

more goals than Chelsea, a lot of teams have, they are struggling in

front of goal. They have one goal in the last four, Willian has six,

Diego Costa has three. They have been told, get the ball in the box,

there is nobody in there. Willian is trying to get in there. If you do

not pick a striker... Exactly. He has got to be so precise to get that

to Oscar. It is not a bad ball, but nobody on the end of it. Gary Cahill

and Diego Costa vacate the area. Watch where are the borage takes

this, he does not even jump. It is a great cross from Willian. That is

the money markets, look where Diego Costa is. Would you look at why they

Bournemouth ran ten kilometres more than Chelsea, quite impressive. That

think he was unlucky to see that chalked off by the officials.

and always supporting our defensive system. He's the first Withdeany who

was to make pressure for us to monitor the pressure. I think it's

very important. I don't think there was anything between the teams.

Certainly at this level the first goal is absolutely crucial. To give

it away in the fashion which we did, you just don't do yourself any

races today. Really good sign that they can dig out a result when it

We saw brilliance from him in terms of a header and brutal. Hero and

villain scenario here. You see him at the back post. Great desire. A

great cross, I have to say, from James Morrison. Look at him getting

and were beaten 6-1 at Liverpool in the League Cup this week.

Alan Hutton it might well have been. A good save by Brad Guzan. That is

the danger for Aston Villa if they do commit bodies forward, they might

of time to go. It has not been cleared, and it is steered in.

Southampton are level, real romp, as unlikely a goal-scorer as Joleon

Lescott was. -- Oriol Romeu. So similar in execution. Oriol Romeu,

from almost precisely the same spot from where Joleon Lescott put Aston

Villa in front, levels for Southampton. It is his first

Southampton goal, how painful for Aston Villa. Relief for one crewman.

made the mess of that. That was a real opportunity for Aston Villa to

close in on all three points again. To be fair, a point was what we

deserved, because Southampton played well. It is a good team, we were

under pressure many times. Maybe you are the better team, the better

chances, but after 45 minutes you are behind. If one counterattacks,

detect risks. We had a lot of pressing, we had good chances, and

finally we scored a goal. After what happened today, maybe it is a good

result. Our performance was not great with the ball, but we showed

desire that we have not showed recently, and hopefully the fans can

have something to cheer about. We did not get the victory, but today

it was not the best place to get points. But once again, I am happy

about the behaviour and attitude of the team.

Despite that, on four occasions they have failed to hold onto a lead this

season. That is a big problem for them, it shows a lack of confidence.

When you look at Carlos Sanchez Moreno, his body is all over the

place, terrible marking. That is where Oriol Romeu end up scoring the

goal. Look at Carlos Sanchez Moreno. Just get all side. Maybe

coaches cannot trust players to do simple things like marking a player.

How far out were you, Oriol Romeu? It is important for 710 that they

got a point. A good reaction, made lots of chances, and he will be

reasonably happy with that. West Ham arrived at Old Trafford

chance for the Argentinian. Another let off for Manchester United. He

was right at the heart of this move, and he will feel he should have

finished it off. Definitely onside. He screwed the shot across the face

of goal. Adrian with the save. The first time

the West Ham goalkeeper has been called upon. He was equal to it.

It is more threatening from Manchester United. Juan Mata miscued

his effort at the end. Manchester United have failed to score in eight

of their last 20 Premier League games. They did not get that kind of

statistic in his day. Inches away for a birthday goal and

a breakthrough for Anthony Martial. At last, something more creative for

Manchester United. Just a fraction wide.

The foul by Angelo Ogbonna. A free kick for Manchester United. He had a

couple of goes, the Italian. Jesse Lingard came in. Another shop

cannot find the target. No problem with the power, just the position.

hoping for late drama. It was a chance. If there was better

the net. When you create this kind of

chances, you have to finish. We did not do that. They are more

disappointed because you know you could finish. This was a very good

game, it could have ended 4-4, 4-3, 3-2. It deserved goals. Manchester

United have only conceded one at home, we put them under pressure, we

were resilient, we deserved to get something out of this game. When you

walked down the tunnel and you heard disgruntlement, can you understand

that? No, because they have seen there was a fighting spirit until

the end, we created chances, we have attacked with a lot of people. You

cannot always demand that we score goals, because there is also a bit

of luck. No goals, but you picked out an

imperious defensive performance from Winston Reid. Yes, they were going

to have to defend well today, and he was fantastic. He was the leader for

them at the back. This is great defending, he knows how quick

Anthony Martial is. He gets his shoulder in and ushers him away from

danger. His positional play is always very good, he always seems to

be in the right place, and he put his body on the line, which is what

you have to do. He is a threat at the other end, and he read things so

well. He was the main man today. I really like him, he is a big miss

when he does not play. Another good header. There were lots of good

performances, but he stood out, and he is capable of this as well. He

matched Anthony Martial full pace and strength. It was a good tussle,

occurs Anthony Martial was their best threat today. A couple of ugly

incident. The first one, Marouane Fellaini. When you look at how he

reacts, how he goes to get the ball after this, he knows he has done

something wrong. When you watch it from the other angle, he knows what

he is doing. He has got history. It is a red card. This one as well, the

referee has had a word with him, so he is lucky. Very fortunate. United,

four times this season they have had a goalless draw, Louis van Gaal not

happy with the crowd. One shot on target, Manchester United fans, the

expectation, does he not understand the expectation? Come on.

Defensively, they are solid. It is a bonus, but it is not enough. Not for

Manchester United. A lack of quality in the final third. They played some

good stuff, but just the lack of quality in the final third. We are
