the night that, that must be worrying for him. I would have

thought so. Roy, you were watching Wayne Rooney and you must be

encouraged by the fact that he has seven goals in eight games. But he

was quiet today. I saw Manchester United last week and I thought they

played really well against Chelsea. I was surprised they could not kick

on from there because their performance was not as good today as

last week. Wayne was excellent last week. Today was not so easy for him.

We are pleased that he seems to have pulled himself out of the trough he

found himself in for a while. He is important for us going forward and

we will depend upon him in the Euros. I can only go back to my time

with England and look at centre forwards that were around. The list

was endless, Fowler, Ferdinand, Ian Wright. Andy Cole. You must be

delighted with the form of Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy.

The lack of fitness must be a concern. It is good to have players

of that type. We have a very good balance now with our forward line.

We have a lot of possibilities in terms of the formation that we can

play. We can play in a diamond with 2-macro/someone in behind them all

with one centre forward and have the wider players coming in from the

sides. The big thing is that Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy have been such

a sensation and Wayne Rooney is Wayne Rooney. On top of that we hope

to have Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott scoring some goals for

Arsenal. The situation in terms of front players is as strong as it has

ever been since I have been national team manager.

too much to do. A difficult game for us, we started brightly and they

confidence and we never got it back. We needed to be a bit more resolute

in terms of our shape today and we were. That gave us a platform to

conducts himself. He is a positive in the league and so are his team.

other clubs, they have put a good team together and they play good

football. It is five league defeats in a row and 16 goals conceded for

John Ruddy, coming in for his first Premier League appearance since

defended well. Throwing our bodies in the way and a bit more quality on

the ball going forward and we would have created a few more chances.

They are a good team. I think in the second half we were comfortable with

our ship, some close ones but I thought we were pretty much in

control in the second half I think. A massive win for us. Crystal

Palace, Leicester, Manchester United, Arsenal, a tough run does

that make today more vital? If I knew what the results would be, I

would be sat on the beach as a multimillionaire, you can never

predict what the results are going to be. We played Peter Brook on

Wednesday and it went for an hour and 20 minutes and then penalties

and then we had to bring them here. It was an extraordinary game in many

ways. We have some blocks here. That is basically the heat map for West

Brom, most of it in their own box, they were that deep. An

extraordinary game. Backs to the wall. They get men behind the ball,

Jonas Olsson. On Wednesday night he was limping around, he must've been

doubtful today but another brilliant performance. Tony Pulis mentioned

it, blocking. It was constant, people kept shouting to us, they go

had one effort on target. When you work as hard as they do, West Brom,

and you get men behind the ball and they are willing to put in 100%, you

can get a performance like this. Three players jumping in front of

the ball, you make your own luck in games like that. Ross Barkley was

prevalent in that game again, you must be delighted with his progress,

not just that but Dele Alli, you must be thrilled with the young

players, Eric Dier. We talked a lot about Ross and what he needs to add

to his game. One of the things we talk about, Roberto and I, is if he

can add goals to his game because he has so much ability and he is doing

that now. He is scoring goals and going forward and making good

decisions, when to pass and when to hold onto it. Do you see Ross

Barkley and Dele Alli fighting for the same spot? It depends what

system we will play, we have several formations. There is no reason why

the two of them cannot play in the same team together because they are

all around players. In the last them against France, we played Ross

Barkley as one of the three central midfield players and that is

important. Do you know -- do you want to go with the young, dynamic

group? We want the team that will win. I hope we go to France with a

strong squad and I think we have to use that squad and not just rely on

an 11 that we pick for maybe the first game, we will have this what

things around and these young players will give us a few

headaches. Swansea City have failed to score

in all three Premier League meetings with Southampton at the Liberty

Stadium and for that to change, they would have to beat

speak about the referee decision because it's a difficult job. It's a

great feeling to be the winning goalscorer. You were today, how does

it feel? It's obviously a nice feeling, you know. When you are a

striker there a greedy aspect of the game. The team played well. At the

back we are keeping clean sheets. It gives us confidence when the chance

comes our way it's possibly going to be the winner. Interesting he is
