late as Manchester United win at Hull, and we will also move onto

Chelsea making it three wins out of three as they put the past Burnley.

Arsenal breeze past Watford, with new signings on the way.

And we'll look ahead to Manchester's City match

The Sunday Mirror, "Rash Bang Wallop" and also "Axe Factor".

That focuses on who Manchester City will leave out of their Champions

League squad. The Sunday Times is also focusing on City, saying Joe

Hart is pondering a move to Italy. The Mail On Sunday is looking at the

England squad announcement. Wayne Rooney will keep the captaincy, but

John Terry will not be back for his country. And there is this byline.

This is in the sun. We will start with Marcus Rashford. You will here

from Mourinho in a minute, but first the man himself with Martin Fisher.

You have not played many games this season, but I guess you have been

itching to get on. It is frustrating, but part of the

process. I am in training all day. Every day. Being around the other

players has helped my game overall. I am pleased. I have got to keep

going. There are chances for him, chances waiting for him. When the

team was chasing a goal against Leicester, in the Charity Shield,

and tonight, he made a difference for us. He gives new problems for

the opposition, to play together with Ibrahimovic, to Michael

completely different players, and in cooperation together, it is a

problem for the opposition. He made a difference yesterday. We should

not be surprised? He is such a fantastic player. I am surprised he

has not had more of a chance, he is up against Juan Mata, Anthony

Martial. His pace is frightening. When he came on against Iceland at

the Euros, his pace was frightening. I want to see more of

him. He had an impact as a substitute yesterday. The point is

there are options. In this day and age, in the squad game, you do not

have to start. He could be one of the best English players for some

years. He is an outstanding talent. You can see that Mourinho does not

want to use young players. He will have to use this player. He makes a

difference every time he comes on. He wants to make things happen.

There is no time to lose for this fellow. Every time they comes on, he

makes an impact. He is such a young player, such a baby. Mourinho has to

nurture him on the right way, he is a great talent. Yesterday evening,

when you watch this game, all his good stuff was not the goal. The

credit card to go to Wayne Rooney for setting up the goal. It was

everything else that Rashford bid, and the impact they give United.

Yes, but Rashford scored. Yes, of course. That is what you want the

striker to do, to tap it in. That was important and he makes a

difference. I have been impressed by his ability and his temperament, he

is a fearless player. One of the few English players who come out of the

Euros with an enhanced reputation. He did not have a lot of

competition. He was the only player on the move. Ibrahimovic was in the

box and stationery. For someone so young, I do not think this is

happening by accident. The goals against Arsenal, when he started in

those late game, you turn things around for van Gaal. People around

the England setup, when he came into the squad, he impressed them

straightaway. It was not when he scored in the game against Australia

Mike at Sunderland. We will pick him for the Euros. He had been so

impressive in training. We need to discuss why he has been discarded.

Go on to that. I think it is a big mistake. He did not have to make

that premature announcement on Monday, that they were going to send

him back to the under 20 ones. I do not see that as a punishment or

demotion, but I think he should be in the England squad. What has he

done to take him out of the England squad? He has not played would-be

Sam Allardyce's adamant. We will discuss Chris Smalling, whether he

should be in the England squad. He has not played fewer minutes than

Chris Smalling. He is a great talent, he has done nothing wrong.

The under 21s is not demotion, but it is not necessary. He is only 18

years of age. We have seen Sam Allardyce with Gareth Southgate.

There may be continuity, give him a game in the under 21s. If Sam knows

he is not going to blame, he wants to pass him down to the under 21s.

If I was England manager, I would want to have a look at him and my

first squad and then maybe after sent into the under 21s. They could

look at him, have in the squad, have him around the environment, and then

make up their mind what they wanted to do. If he is not going to play

for the senior squad, sent into the under 21s, but with the first squad,

if I was the manager, I would want to look at him. England should sell

through. They should win the group. They have got Scotland and teams

that should be beaten. I have seen Harry Kane at the start of the

season. He looked sluggish. He is not scoring. At this minute in time,

I would rather see Rashford with his pace and power start for England.

Until yesterday, you had not seen Rashford. No, but we have no. In the

next game against Love IT, who better to bring on? There is that

aspect to look at. There is that juggling act, trying to nurture him

and giving him time on the pitch. If you're good enough, you should be in

the England squad. An interesting comment by Slaven Bilic, when he was

the Croatia coach, he had players who were not starting for their club

sides, but he quite like the fact that some of them were not, because

they were used to coming on as a substitute and making a difference.

One player was at Bayern Munich. Rashford is in that rhythm. He has

come on again and made the difference. That is another arguing

for him to be in the squad. Over the next two years, when Mourinho is

there, how many games will he play, this bike? He has competition for

places. That could be his regular roll. When you talk about playing

games, are you talking about starting games are whether he gets

on from the bench to make an impact? Are you talking about the quality of

games? If he plays in every Europa League game, for example? That would

be nice, but you want him in the first team. Sam Allardyce once in

the Manchester United team. If he is not in there and he is an impact

player, maybe that will do for now. He's a big talent. Can he be

involved in both squads? Qualification for the World Cup is

paramount. Sam Allardyce is a results manager. I am surprised he

has not involved in. Onto the England squad in general. Jason, you

spoke to him last week at the briefing. Is his real philosophy

that you have to be playing regularly for your club to get into

the England club, or will there be exceptions? I think you will take

the same policy as previous England managers. You have to play for a big

club to get into the England squad? Not quite. There is so much

competition in top teams that you cannot be hard and fast and say, to

play for England, you need to start for your club. That will not be

possible. You start going to a small pool of players. Every manager wants

some room to manoeuvre around that. Chris Smalling has not played for

Manchester United much but I got the impression he would be in

the squad. Rashford looks like he will drop out because of his age. I

do not think he will make a hard and fast rule. You create a problem for

yourself. Hole fans will be saying that the most impressive player

yesterday on the field was Curtis Davies. Fans have been messaging me

sing, it was not just yesterday, his started the season has been

fantastic. We'll Sam Allardyce look at players who have had good starts

to the season? He should. You look at Curtis Davies and Michael Keane

Burnley. There are reports in the paper today that John Terry was like

that. He will not go back. I do not get that one, personally. He is 35,

he has been fantastic as captain for Chelsea. But in two years, I cannot

get that into my head, John Terry will be much older. That came up

last week in the briefing. Sam Allardyce was asked, would you

consider John Terry? You tried to be diplomatic but he left the door

open, saying, I might have to call on him if I need him. It has been

for years since John Terry played for England. He needs to concentrate

on Chelsea. I think he understands that ship has sailed. It possibly

sends out the wrong message, the possibility of bringing him back.

Everyone talks about the lack of central defenders. There are not as

many as there were when Martin was playing, but there are enough. If

there is a shortage, as a former centre-half yourself, should Sam

Allardyce Billy King, rather than at this or that central defender, a

central defensive partnership, two players who could work together to

be the rock of that England team for the next five or six years? 100%. It

should be John Stones and one other. Yes, he is developing in the way

that we want. There are lots of suggestions that he does not want to

play football, Sam Allardyce. I am not sure about that. International

football, he will have to go up one level himself. The development of

John Stones under Guardiola will be very important. He has got to get

the balance right. Finding a partner for him will be key. Will it be

Cahill, Jagielka? Who will it be? Chris Smalling? I think Chris

Smalling probably makes a better partner. He has come out of the

Manchester United team because of suspension. If everyone had started

together, the Euro was almost got in the way because he came back late.

He is not out of the picture. He might break into the Manchester

United team in time. Michael Keane is a similar age to John Stones. If

they work together, and they are regularly used as a partnership,

that could work? They're considering Jagielka as well. Sam Allardyce

might be thinking there is an Everton line, Jagielka and John

Stones were together. He is a senior player who is a good communicator in

terms of helping a young player. When he played with England before

with John Stones, they did well. If he picks John Stones, he is making a

statement, to play more football. To make that they've to international

management. I think he will pay John Stones. Today he was talking about

cutting out the mistakes, but when he spoke to us about John Stones, he

was very effusive, how he should be the future for England as a

defender. Who the long-term partner will be is a big issue. I am not

sure about Chris Smalling. Daley Blind has gone into the side and has

done well. No matter what Mourinho says, they have been looking for

another centre-half. They have been looking at Jose Fonte at

Southampton. Mourinho is looking for another partner for a late rally.

Only 30% of the players who have played in the Premier League or

English. You cannot be black and white, if you're not playing for

your club, you cannot play for England. He cannot say that. Was he

right to investigate the possibility of Steven N'Zonzi playing for

England? Here's a player he believes in. If he has worked with him

closely, why not? Shiggy castanet further afield, and look people who

would qualify through residency? It happens in other sports, it is not

unusual. We have such a small pool of players, he has to cast the net

wider. In midfield, he has options. Jack Wilshere, Henderson, Dele Alli.

Midfielders were they are strong. It tells us the type of midfield player

he is looking for. In that case, they came to the FA, it was not Sam

Allardyce going to N'Zonzi and saying, argue eligible? They went to

the FA and asked about it. Do you have a problem with the? No, it is

within the rules. Some people will have a problem. A few years ago,

Jack Wilshere had at briefing and he spoke about Adnan Januzaj. He said,

he should be English. With the England national football team, it

becomes more heated, who is eligible and who should play. I do not have a

problem with it. I remember singing the Welsh

national anthem with Vinnie Jones. I don't see a problem! What a great

Welsh midfield! I think we should say it is the start of a new

beginning. There should be a positivity and a freshness about a

new manager coming in. If you're a player and you haven't played

recently for England, the door is opened again. It doesn't matter if

you are John Terry or whoever, they should stick to those players and

reward them. We've seen the Welsh manager do that, people who haven't

played at the highest level or in the championship made great players.

This viewer says perhaps they should pick the players. Ian says Rashford

should be in that time. Ryan, I think he'll pick Cahill alongside

Stones. Cahill has the experience. Text us on 85058 text us on 85058.

If you pick Eric Dier or Harry Kane, you are making a big statement about

those two players. He's not worked with either of those two yet. There

is no reason for him not to pick Wayne Rooney. He didn't have the

greatest of the euros but he isn't along. I think for now he'll carry

on with Rooney. Does he need to go this person, Martin, is going to be

my England captain? Or can he just pick a squad, pick a team, and give

the captain's armband to someone? I think he's got to make every

decision based on what he feels is best for England, and Wayne Rooney,

I don't see too much wrong with Wayne Rooney yesterday, did you?

When he got to the by-line and brought that ball back. He is good

to go for the next two years. I have no problem with that. So you would

go, Wayne Rooney, you are my captain? It is such a young group, I

would go with Wayne Rooney. Too much emphasis I believe that the England

national team is based on the England captain. Look at Wales,

Aaron Ramsay was captain. He made Ashley Williams captain. Not many

people knew that unless you were Welsh, but there is not too much

fuss. Too much emphasis on the England captain, it is nonsense. But

it turned out the be a good decision, so it is important.

Outside of Wales though, not many people would know that that

happened. If he chooses Wayne Rooney as a captain, I don't think that's

necessarily a ringing endorsement of Rooney for the next couple of years.

Going forward, what is his role? We talked to Allardyce about that as

well. He gave the signs that the best role is that which he is

playing now with Manchester United. By the end of the season, will he be

leading the Manchester United team? If Rooney stays in that team he

plays for England. The Manchester United team? Yes. I agree. And

that's brilliant for Sam Allardyce. Jose Mourinho will make sure that

Rooney will be at it. Two Games this afternoon you can see on Match of

the Day 2 later. The first game at the Hawthorns West Brom against

Middlesbrough. Defeat here by Everton, the League Cup upset at

Northampton, and a fair amount of dissatisfaction among supporters.

Three changes from that Everton game. Sam Field, an 18-year-old into

midfield for the Baggies. Brendan Galloway, on loan from Everton, he

is fit and starts for West Bromwich Albion. Those developing out,

Gardener and interestingly Saido Berahino. Berahino is on the bench.

Also on the bench is the 16-year-old by the name of cane Wilson, who if

he comes on will be the first Premier League player ever to appear

in a Premier League having been born in the 21st century. Middlesbrough

already with four points on the board make one change from their

league win over Sunderland last Sunday. Sunday. Friend is out with

an injury. Daniel Ayala is in for him. There could be a bit of a

defensive reshuffle. And cue lots of people feeling old, here and in the

studio. Arnold Schwarzenegger is alongside Ian this afternoon.

Schwartzer is alongside Ian this afternoon. There seems to be a

feel-good factor in the team. Yes, they started extremely well. I think

Alvaro Negredo has fitted in well. Scored on his home debut, and I

think they've gone to their game against Sunderland with an enormous

amount of confidence and rightly won their game. To start the first game

of the season with four points on the board, they've got be pleased

with that. A mix of home-grown players, British players and players

like Negredo that have been brought in. Yes, that's important for a team

like Middlesbrough so the community can relate to their team. Steve

Gibson the chairman has always had a huge emphasis on bringing in players

from the local area. And Gibson for example, who is the club captain,

has been exceptional this season already. And Stuart Danning has been

a huge boost for them over the last 18 months. They have had those

experienced players in Negredo and Ayala obviously. They are looking

solid at the moment. Mark, thank you. That game is this afternoon

also on 5Live. Are you surprised at how flat everything feels around

West Brom, given Tony Pulis, I was going to say not a rabble rouser,

but he places great store on personality and momentum. I think he

is frustrated, again, because of the lack of transfer activity around the

club. There's been a take-over which I think is still waiting to go

through. I think that's caused a hiatus there. He talked recently

about needing five or six players. I think that's an indication that he

feels not only that the team needs strengthening but needs a shake-up

as well. But at the same time they comfortably avoided relegation last

season. Nobody is tipping them to go down this season. They may well sell

Berahino. It could be one of the busiest clubs towards the end of the

transfer window. I think Pulis will try and change things around a bit.

There hasn't been a lot of chatter around them, because people are

assuming there won't be any trouble because of him. The 4 o'clock game,

Manchester City against West Ham. The Sunday Times sports section this

morning have the big story on Joe Hart pondering an Italy escape

route. Torino is the club mentioned. It is in a few other papers as well,

the Sunday People. And the assistant manager at Torino was part of

Mancini's club. If Joe Hart phoned you and said, what should I do, what

would you say? I would be surprised my phone was ringing! It is a

difficult one this. Joe Hart is the kind of person who loves playing

football. The situation obviously is clear, that Guardiola, I've seen

interviews people saying we'll help Joe. It feels to me that it is like

getting punched in the nose and somebody offering to take you to

hospital. They've tried to help him. I would want to play, but where is

there to go? For me people talk about Everton. The team... If I was

Liverpool, I've said it on 606, I don't think they will go for him,

but if Joe Hart went to them, where can he go? That's the big thing.

Torino, I'm not so sure. They've talked this week about finding a

solution for Joe. Does that become an Everton fit? You are looking at

maybe it would be a good decision for Man City to allow such a good

player to go and take points from the other teams, or does he go to

Sunderland, where he will get lots of action? We want him to be playing

and I don't think it's healthy if he stays at Manchester City. The way he

was, listen, it was nice the fans were clapping him in the Champions

League, but if it is down to money, I think Manchester City will find a

solution for him to leave. People will be wanting to take him.

Probably a game of poker going on at the moment. Maybe Everton might be

the one. He was poor at Fulham when he played. He was either injured or

put bad performances in. If Joe becomes available... Thing has been

some interest. That's part of the poker. The loan fee and the wages

are prohibitive, so they'll have to come down. Clubs are thinking we may

be interested but plot at what you're asking for at the moment. Two

ways of looking at it. From Hart's point of view, he believes he's been

jettisoned brutally and to compound that they've left it so late. In his

own head, how am I supposed the find another club at this stage? City

will stay we know Guardiola is coming. You didn't adapt to your

game, you haven't impressived in training. This is big boy stuff,

this is what happens. There was always the possibility they were

going to get a new goalkeeper in. Once Guardiola was appointed. You

don't appoint a manager like Pep Guardiola and not back him. The

reason he's been clear and harsh on Hart is to almost make this happen,

to make this change happen. He wants this goalkeeper in Bravo to come in.

In. Hart will have been aware of that, but he will be thinking there

is no time to think of my future. Do you think Guardiola has watched

training a lot, as managerses tend to do, and thought he couldn't coach

him... But he couldn't coach him, as he came back late. It is a

preconceived idea. Some of the players at Bayern Munich he coached

and trained portion whether Philip Lamm, and the story of Martinez

going from a midfielder to a centre half. Do you think he is thinking of

Joe Hart and thinking, I can't coach you to do what you want to do? No, I

think these managers, looking at Mourinho, Guardiola, they've got a

plan. They are decisive in what they do. David Moyes took the job at

Manchester United and didn't do a great deal to start with. Do you

think if this had been on odd year, if there hadn't been a summer

tournament, do you think he might have been at Manchester City He

would have taken a look at him. He would have looked at the euros and

what players are playing that represent my Football Club. What he

would have seen from Joe Hart wouldn't have helped the cause.

Gareth Bale scoring from 20 yards. It wasn't not a good performance, so

straight away he wants to make a change. If that hurts Joe Hart,

those decisions have to be made. It is a ruthless business. Everybody on

the outside wants to be a professional footballer but it can

hurt and you have to take the exit. But they are on such huge wages.

This doesn't is about his footballing ability. If it was up to

you, he wouldn't have sent Lalitta. Caballero's kicking last week was

awful. The way he plays the game, it is nonnegotiable. He needs a certain

type of goalkeeper that involves himself in the placement there's a

big argument about the two types of keeper, one is reactive and one is

more passive and he sees Hart as one that doesn't get in the play enough.

He says I can change him but I don't have the time to do this. Saying

that, Joe Hart I remember in a game last year when he gave the ball to

Fernando on the edge of the box. People blamed Joe Hart for giving

him the ball, but I thought Fernandinho, or Fernando, I can't

remember which one it was. But it comes down to the players. Who wants

the ball? In this situation he could have worked with him and made him

better. If a manager's going to say to you that there is an area of

weakness that you need to work on and I will work with you and will

you be in my team until you get better, that's one thing, but to

suggest you can't pass the ball and not give you the chance to work on

it, that's harsh. I think he is still England's number one. Pete

says Joe Hart has to go. Brett says he is bigger than Sunderland, is I'm

gutted for him. He's a legend in my eyes. Tony says Pep Guardiola

spotted... I was there. We saw it in a match in a warm-up game once and

he was doing his nut at Hart's distribution.

someone to yes, it has been very good. They have not played anybody

of real note yet. Let's be honest. As fire as West Ham are concerned,

Zaza from Juventus, the latest player. The fee will be triggered if

he plays a certain number of Premier League games. He is one of ten they

have brought in the summer. It will take time for them to settle. Yes,

and they are getting injuries for the players they have been signing,

which is a disaster, which is why they have had to go and get this

one. I thought they did not play well at Chelsea. They were a

standout team last year, knocking on the door of the top four, until

April. It has been a tricky start. They are out of Europe, going to a

new stadium. That stadium, if you have been there, it is not nearly as

intimidating as Upton Park. It will be difficult for them. The injuries

have really hurt them. It could be difficult for them. Payet has barely

featured so far. Andre Ayew, Cresswell. They do not have the most

amazing squad, that they can just absorb those injuries. You have got

to give them some leeway because of that. Robbie. The disappointing

thing was going out in Europe in midweek. The stadium is set for

European football. People cannot go Europa League, but we have seen how

civil-mac did, they got Champions League spots. It was a terrible

result for West Ham with the new stadium. If it is going to take time

to blend the players, and they have had injury problems, fewer games

might help. The injuries have killed them. Payet as well, and Cresswell,

the left back, he would have been in the England squad under big sanity

was fit. Luke Shaw will be in it, and deservedly so. Their away form

last year was amazing. They won at the Emirates and Anfield. Manchester

City. They will not match that this year. One moron Joe Hart. David says

of Joe Hart drops his wages and goes to Everton, he will play every week

and keep his England place and he could be part of something exciting.

Eden Hazard has scored two goals in three games.

It took up until April to reach that tally last season.

Let's hear from him after he opened the scoring in Chelsea's 3-0

Yes, I tried to do the best. I am always the same player, but I have

confidence, I give everything, I could score a couple of goals today.

I scored one. It was enough today but I hope in the next game I will

score a couple of goals. They said it on Match Of The Day last night,

he looks like a different player to last season. Yes, you have to credit

his manager. He is really switched on. When he is running at players,

he decides what he does, not the defender. He goes past people, that

pace. When he is in the mood, he is as good as anyone. When you look

down from Messi, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard is just below that kind of

form. He could go into that area. It is up to him. Will he keep the

consistency? We saw flashes in the Euros, but nothing before that. His

manager know, Antonio Conte, he will be in his ear. Have you seen him in

the technical area? Here's a manager who has picked it up quickly. He

will get a reaction from the players, and certainly from Hazard.

As they pointed out in Match Of The Day last night, Ngolo Kante, they're

talking about the difference that he makes, because it means that Hazard

has less defensive duties. You go back to that fantastic Chelsea team,

Clyde Makelele, and the team were Lampard was allowed to go forward

and get all those goals. The team was set up so that Frank Lampard

could go forward and score those goals. Ngolo Kante, water signing he

is. To be fair to Hazard, he is fit. He had injury problems last year.

Everyone has got to defend. You're talking about defence. Everyone has

to defend in this team. You do not carry anybody. The manager is making

that clear. He is trying to get him close to goal. Last year he was told

to work back so much, if he was not 100% fit, he was struggling to get

back up the pitch. His relationship with Mourinho was not the easiest

and that affected him. There was a hangover from that in the rest of

the campaign. In the Euros, you saw flashes of him. I am not surprised

he has started the season this way. You cannot deny that Ngolo Kante

gives you greater insurance than most Premier League midfielders. He

is unbelievable. What the manager has done, Antonio Conte, he has made

changes at vital times. Hazard was one of those. The West Ham game,

when they were searching out for a late winner, you are coming off, I

want something different. Maybe you're not working quite as hard. It

keeps everyone on their toes. He is not on that pedestal he was on

before. He crept onto that even with Mourinho. They are becoming much

more of a team, Chelsea. I feel they could really challenge. That is

right. I think they feel they are short in terms of recruitment.

Antonio Conte is frustrated that they have not got a couple of deals

over the line. He is looking for a central defender. He has tried to

get to the ballet. He has gone to AC Milan for a defender as well as

Coulibaly at Napoli. I think this could work in the favour of Chelsea.

They work hard. The two Manchester clubs and Chelsea are looking like

the most likely trio in terms of challenges. As Martin says, he is a

front foot challenger. It did not need to be against Burnley

yesterday, but in the first two games, the manager had to make the

substitutions to change the game. It will be interesting to see if he

gets another centre-half in the transfer window. Will he go with

three centre-halves? We have seen it with Juventus and Italy. It would

allow John Terry to play for a few more years. It might allow him to

get two forwards in the team. He has played three before, but he has not

had Ngolo Kante. He is like three players. -- two players. We have

Manchester City against West Ham on Radio 5 Live today. That is there a

commentary. Plenty of updates. They are also going to cover the Belgian

Grand Prix. That is starting now. On BBC Two and the BBC sport website,

we will continue with MOTD2 Extra. Would you like to defend corners at

the moment? It is becoming tricky. I will say something that will

surprise you. We did a zonal system. It was easier. For me, I like the

grapple, but at set pieces, it was a case that he would back yourself,

one, two, three, elevation as much as you can, when the ball and power

it away. If you're trying to fight with someone, particularly if they

are bigger than you, you have got to foul them to stop them. People

turning their back on the ball. I like some of that that is coming in,

but consistency is tricky. Marcus has been saying that he made good to

a zonal system and take certain people of marking. -- Mark Hughes.

They have given two penalties away this season already. Go on. I think

it is becoming a farce. We will see if it carries on the way it is. Mike

Dean has given three penalties now for a holding, Shawcross, Raheem

Sterling, and yesterday, it was never a penalty. I think we will be

seeing that the attacker will throw themselves to the ground even more.

You exaggerate the fall, and you think, that referee gave it, why is

he giving it, why is he not? When I played for Blackburn, we played

Sheffield United. There was a similar rule. We gave two penalties

win that game and Brad Friedel saved both of them. After a few weeks, it

went away. If they are going to do it, stick to it. Mike Dean has gone

to the extreme of giving those penalties. I agree, there is a lack

of consistency. But not a lack of consistency from Mike Dean. If Mike

Dean is refereeing your game... Different referees have different
