Marc Marquez became the youngest ever winner of a MotoGP. How old are

Texas. Can you still believe it? Victory in the MotoGP class is

special. My target was to try to be on the podium but victory is so

difficult. One of the people you are learning most from is Dani, your

team-mate. We saw the pictures of you celebrating together. Yes, in

MotoGP you have the respect for every rider. Everybody wants to make

something between me and Dani, how is the relationship, but it is

perfect. On the track, surely he wants to beat me and I want to beat

him but I know he is the rider of the team. What was it like for you

growing up as a racer? I was four years old with my father on a

motocross bike. He spent all his free weekends on me and all his

money, he saved some money but spent it on my bike or something. Me doing

MotoGP is a very good present for them. You need to have respect for

them but also for your team, your manager, your people, your friends,

because for a ride it is important to have good stability. -- a rider.

We have seen situations where you have been involved in crashes and

people talk about you and you never let that affect how you ride on the

track. What is the key to your confidence? When I have comments I

don't like it is worse coming from here than from their! We have one

more photo for you. What has it been like for you, in cats are

especially? -- Qatar. He is my hero of motorbikes and he beat me but it

is normal because he has a lot of experience. It is great that now I

can be in a race with Valentino and follow him for some laps. You have

two world titles, he has nine. Can you match that? It is quite

impossible to beat what Valentino did but first I would like to have

the first title in MotoGP, in two, three, four years, and then we will

see about the impossible. Good luck. Just 20 years of age, Marc Marquez,

and a lovely kid as well. He comes home to his home GP on top of the

the three Amigos at the top. Valentino Rossi is targeting a first

win of the season in a circuit where through here in a minute. We have

Marc Marquez's trainer. It is amazing what he has done and we are

surprised. The MotoGP class is quite difficult but he is doing a very

good job. We tried to teach him a lot of things to be as fast as he

can. You can see he is a great talent on the track and in our

interview he comes through as a levelheaded kid. What is he like to

work with? He is a young rider, a funny rider, and such a nice guy,

but on the practice it is so easy to problems well. You have not had the

perfect weekend in free practice. You will have to work hard to get

the right setting. We have not had a good three days because it was

raining. We have to wait how he can manage. He is working and he feels

quite good but you never know what will happen in the race. We will do

what we have to do, like we many times say, we need to finish the

race. We can't wait to see what you have for us today. I think he's just

gone through so we will leave you. Whatever happens today with Marc

Marquez I think it is fair to say he is here to stay with that

spectacular new riding style he has brought to the table, the latest

stage in the evolution of MotoGP. Watch the knees come out. You can

see them almost scraped the ground. When the world Championships kicked

off in 1949 there was no such thing as riding style, it was all about

keeping yourself nicely tucked in, legs inside, because they did not

have a lot of horsepower, it was about aerodynamics. Then a man

called John Cooper decided he was going to stick his leg out and

started to move his weight to the inside of the bike. That style

stayed with us until now. You had to start putting tape on your layers

because otherwise it would dig into the track. That was the Barry Sheen,

Kenny Roberts era. Then it moved on a bit more as people got more and

more off the bike. Keeping the bike upright stopped you from crashing

and these hard mastic pads, you could actually jam your knee into

the track, pushing yourself back up. -- hard plastic. The next change in

style which seemingly everybody has adopted was the dangle, leg off the

foot pedals coming into the corner. It helped you to slow the bike down

and pulled you into the corner but you have the weight of the foot and

the leg, putting weight on the back of the bike. Just about everybody

does it now. Right up-to-date now, we have another style, this man,

Marc Marquez, number 93. He drags his elbows on the track, lent over

about 64 degrees. Who knows how many people will adopt that style from

now on? I am glad you didn't try getting

your elbow down there. As Steve said, as the riders' styles change

the equipment has to change. Marc Marquez has thrown up a few

challenges for you and your designers, hasn't he? Yes, even in

Moto two we recognise that he was getting his elbow down on the floor.

I brought a couple of samples to show that when we were in Malaysia

in the test we saw that he was wearing away the suit, so even be

replaceable polyurethane was not working. It is kind of on the

outside of the elbow. Yes, with the lean angle he is getting he has gone

off the slider and onto the elbow of the suit so we took it in a stage

further and now we have a magnesium slider in place so that when he

wears it out we don't need to take the arm of the suit. There are a

couple of younger riders who are changing their suits. Yes, I don't

know if they are taking a leaf out of his book but certainly it is

becoming a trend. I don't think the elbow sliders are going to be making

it onto the suits just yet because for us mere mortals, usually getting

your elbow on the ground is the sign of something going badly wrong. It

went badly for Marc Marquez yesterday morning will stop it goes

to show that even half a degree too much lean angle and you are down on

the ground. One of the advantages of his style is that he does not have

far to fall. He was not the only one who hit the deck yesterday, rising

track temperatures as we discussed have led to more than one set of

leather manufacturers and a panic for the doctors as well. Once

again, the temperatures are rising. It is going to have an effect on the

decisions these guys have to make. It was 56 degrees track temperature

yesterday when they were qualifying and it feels hotter now. When you

get the rubber and the oil, particularly on the apex of the

corners, it bubbles out and firm ends and comes out, so track

conditions will not be that fast today, even though the track is hot.

If they picked a hard tired they can tear it up and make it worse, not

better. I believe they will go for the softer tyres to keep the bikes

upright. Jorge Lorenzo is the one they think they will win the race

today. It has been a good weekend for him. Steve and I were watching

it yesterday, not only did he set the pole position, but it is really

scary the pace he has got. This is really his circuit and he has got

his own corner here efficiently. That corner is a very famous corner.

It is a great corner, it is a slippery call you. We have seen a

few followers. But this track is a fun track to watch and it is a

tricky one. There is a balm were Cal Crutchlow went down. It forces the

brakes on a bit more and it is all over and they are going to have to

watch that. -- bumper. This came at a crucial moment in qualifying as

well. Everybody had a problem is with the hot temperatures on the

track. I crash in the free practice before qualifying. But I was not too

concerned with that. I knew what I had done. It is the first time I

have crashed this year, but the second one I do not know, maybe

there was something on the track. I do not blame it on that, I made a

mistake and I ended up locking the front and crashing. But it was

definitely a big crash and it made me sort. But I was pleased to get up

and go back out and I do not think many other riders would do that. We

know he rode with a dislocated ankle at Silverstone last year. They call

him the honey badger and it is the way he tumbled. But he is a tough

lad and to get out there on a bike that had just been rebuilt and they

had one lap and it was a knife against his neck and he put in a

faster lap. And do not forget he was the fastest in the pre-season

testing. Where he has qualified, which is not bad, does not reflect

how quick he is. Karel Abraham and Ben Spies are not on the grid. We

thought they had run out of luck at the end of last season, but it just

goes to show. Poor old Ben Spies. He changed teams and he had everything

and it is a horrible situation and I look forward to seeing him back

again. Karel Abraham has got a broken collarbone. What else should

we be looking out for? As we were saying, we expect Cal Crutchlow to

be right in the hunt. Let's not forget Valentino Rossi. He was only

one tenth of with awe of the practice sessions. He was right on

the pace. Valentino Rossi could use his vast experience and be on the

podium. The rules are working, the softer tyres with Hector by a bearer

and Espargaro up there, and if they get some good starts, they will be

hard to pass. Both Spaniards and it is an all Spanish front row. There

are six Spanish riders hoping to impress the home crowd today. For

the Spaniards it is particularly special. It is a good feeling being

here because I am surrounded by all the Spanish crowd and you feel the

atmosphere and it lifts you a little bit above the floor. It is a special

weekend because a of people know you and help you and all your friends

come and your family, but you have to forget and you have to

concentrate. When you want to show more potential, you make mistakes.

think Jerez is special for every rider, not only the Spanish. It is

special because you can feel the fans and the warmth. It is special,

you feel it is more than a normal race. It is a good feeling. It is

the special one because the people are very emotional here. They shout

a lot and you can hear them even if you have plugs in your ears. You

hear the people shouting at you and cheering for you. When you come to

Jerez and you are on the last corner or on the last lap, fighting for

victory, you take a little more risk. A really big weekend for the

Spaniards. The grid is absolutely packed today. Hugh is Alvaro

Bautista, his highest place in the season. You can imagine how nervous

he must be hearing -- feeling now. This is Valentino Rossi. Fifth

place. You never know, we saw him coming through from the middle of

the third row. This is a circuit where he has won six times in

MotoGP. Never rule out the doctor. Ahead of him on the second row is

Cal Crutchlow. Let's see if we can squeeze in. Sorry, Lucy. Here he is

keeping cool with the ice pack on his back because the temperatures

are quite hot and that will be a big factor today. Yes, it is quite hot,

but you look good. I planned my wardrobe earlier in the week.

impressed. No doubt the track temperatures are a lot more art than

over the whole weekend. We had a problem yesterday, but I am looking

forward to the race, it should be good. I do not feel in the best

shape in my life, but I will try and get out in front if I can. If we can

get away and pick up some pieces with the guys in the first couple of

laps, we will see what happens. All the best today. Do not throw that

ice pack away. I will come back and get it later because I might be able

to make the best of that. As I said before, no Abraham and no Ben Spies.

Azi is with one of the CRT riders. It is Bryan Staring, a new face for

2013. He comes here via the Australian

championship. Three races on the Honda, how is it going? We got the

test here four or five weeks ago. It makes things a little bit easier

because we qualified a bit better and we have got a strong pace, and I

am looking forward to it. How are you finding this class? CRT in

MotoGP? Really good, I am enjoying my time here and I am enjoying this

challenge. This is your best qualifying of the year so far, a big

improvement. Yes, definitely, step-by-step each weekend. I am

becoming more comfortable with this bike. Anyway, I am not trying to

rush things, but we are looking to improve in every race. Good luck.

Hopefully he is going to be fighting in this CRT battle. We have got

Hector by bearer, the top CRT on the grid today. A very positive weekend

for you. Yes, I am very happy. In Texas I had many problems. In Qatar

it was the same. The bike was broken too much. Now in Jerez the bike is

perfect. I like this track. This winter I had many tests here in

Jerez and it was positive for me. Today the race I think is a good

race for me because my bike is very good. I want to enjoy this race.

you can see an eye injury. How does it feel to be back on the grid?

and improve because it is the first time with this bike in the race and

spec Ducati that will be tested tomorrow. They need to make some

improvements, so we will see what that brings. We can see the all

Spanish front row behind me. Jorge Lorenzo, the current world champion

is on pole position. It was his 26th birthday yesterday. He has been on

the podium 24 times. One of the only two he did not manage was in 2009.

He is a formidable force. It is consistency and he is the boy.

Dovisiozo does not like this circuit. Pirro is somebody else to

watch. Yes, I think his bike is an improvement and he is closer to the

factory boys. All the teams will be here trying to sort out their next

evolutions on their next bikes. Lukas Pesek had the most ridiculous

crash of the day. He chucked it down the road before he had even

completed a lap. But it is very tricky out there. The real key is

everybody gets here and they have already tested here and they know

the limits before the weekend starts. Everybody starts pushing

hard, hence so many people chucking it down the road. A of the teams are

interesting. They all came here with sessions they had at preseason

tests. It is not that dissimilar to yesterday. They all came here with

their settings and they all went away from it and they have gradually

come back to where they were. They are looking to nibble away tenths

here and there and hence people pushing hard and falling down and

that is what you get. The front half of the great have all been well

under the record. There is a gentleman just outside the window

that has a chainsaw. He has removed the chain and the blade, so there is

no passion here at all! It sounded like your lawnmower with a broken

exhaust. 111,000 people here today and they are bubbling with

excitement. It is a very partisan crowd. A huge cheer for the guy on

pole, the Spanish. The second row, Scott Redding, and there was

silence. If Valentino Rossi wins, that is OK as well. A lot of his

fans, right in the grandstand where him. That is the advantage of being

a rookie, you don't know how much it hurts. Lorenzo just shuts the door

on Marc Marquez. Dani Pedrosa round the outside. Great stuff from

Valentino Rossi. Lorenzo just squeezed in there, used a lot of

confidence. He leads this race, fastest all weekend. Nicky Hayden in

the pack. It is Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez. After four

or five laps the lap times will start going down. Who is the best

rider out there at looking after equipment when it gets tired?

would say Lorenzo. Valentino Rossi is going to run with the hounds.

That is reminiscent of what we saw about eight years ago. 99, Jorge

Lorenzo, leads this race. Valentino Rossi does not want to do what he

had to do in Qatar. Marc Marquez squeezed his way down the inside. He

is so good on the brakes. Rossi is not happy about this at all.

Straight across the top of the curve there, over 100 mph. We are riding

with Cal Crutchlow now. Sitting there in fifth position. He wants to

come and play, five laps is a long time to go. This is really sitting

well the Dani Pedrosa at the moment, he doesn't want to deal with

his team owed -- team-mate any more than Valentino Rossi does. If you

have not seen this man before, in third place, Marc Marquez, keep an

eye on him. Is that Michael Laverty? are crazy. That is the battle for

sick place. Alvaro Bautista is seven and Nicky Hayden is in eighth. Dani

Pedrosa is doing a good job, hanging on very well to this guy. About lap

four or five, that is when the tyres start to go off. The riders know

that. Two dozen laps left. The pace has dropped ever so slightly.

at Dani Pedrosa on the right, he can just close in a tiny bit there. Good

ride there from number 19, Alvaro Bautista sitting in sixth place.

Crutchlow pushing very hard indeed. He is sore. The gravel feels like

half bricks, doesn't it? It really does. Dani Pedrosa in the shadows of

Jorge Lorenzo. It will be about who has some energy left at the end, in

these high temperatures. Andrea Iannone has chucked that bike at the

scenery quite a lot over the weekend. That is two crashes in

three races for Stefan Bradl. He did not do too bad in Texas. Dani

Pedrosa plus one, he has a second over Marquez. -- Marc Marquez.

Pedrosa, number 26, Marc Marquez. He has closed those down, he is joining

the party at the front. Lorenzo, there is the time, a quarter of a

second, that was quite a useful lap for Marc Marquez. He said before the

race he didn't really think he could stay with the big guys in this race

but happily I think he is proving himself wrong. Look how hard he is

racing, 93. The bike is wriggling all around. It is just like a mono

cycle going into there, all of his weight shifting. Marc Marquez is

closing in. Through the right-hander we go, it is Dani Pedrosa, as you

can see. The gap to Marc Marquez has dropped four tenths. Have a look at

those times. Over the line they are going, Marc Marquez a couple of

tenths faster. You are looking back now from Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa is

hot on his tail. He has every attribute you could mansion but he

still has to get past this guy we are following, Lorenzo. He is not

erratic in any way. These rear tyres which we are looking closely at of

Jorge Lorenzo, they have had the best out of him but they are now

starting to deteriorate. Lorenzo is going to try to run with him and

then do the switch back but Annie Pedrosa does the switch. Will this

give him an advantage? We saw how good the Honda is into the corners

on the brakes. Smooth as you like goes through there, Jorge Lorenzo

left about two metres and he used them up. We can now see exactly what

Dani Pedrosa at this early stage of the race has up his sleeve. He had a

pretty much identical time to Lorenzo last time round. Can he make

a brake? His best chance is to try to brake Lorenzo right now. He will

be focusing, not looking at the times, just seeing if he can close

that gap. Valentino Rossi is dropping away now from Marc Marquez.

Cal Crutchlow in behind him there. Cal Crutchlow has the carrot in

front of him now. A painful weekend for the number 35 but he will almost

certainly have had some painkillers. This is the corner that has given

everybody so much trouble. Watch for that corner as the race unfolds,

they will start running out of brakes when the front tyre gets very

hot. That is a tricky place and that is where we saw Marquez unwind

himself yesterday. 21 laps remaining, we have a game of chess

and it looks like Dani Pedrosa is going to be able to close that gap.

Cal Crutchlow will shortly be on the back wheel of Valentino Rossi. 0.7

down on 0.4. He really has the magnets on now, Cal Crutchlow.

so good on the brakes into their. As fast if not faster than Valentino

Rossi. Tumbling into the gravel there, very lucky not to injure

himself. The gap absolutely closed down now. We are riding with Cal

Crutchlow. Using the curbs, everybody starting to use the inside

curbs now. The bike will drift out, out, out, and then back across the

top of the curb. It is amazing, they get the power there, all the way up

to six dear. A massive stop here, 1.5 Gs braking. The curbs again.

Look at this, 93, Marc Marquez, probing for a way to get past the

Yamaha. He shares the championship league with the man in front of

him. -- championship lead. Dani Pedrosa is making a very good fist

at this stage of the race, putting some clear air between him and Jorge

Lorenzo. 26, as he takes that last term, we now get a proper measure of

how much the gap is. It is a second, 1.004. He has pulled a second out.

Look at the tighter line for Marc Marquez. Closing in on the Yamaha.

Again, those smooth, fluid lines from Jorge Lorenzo. The youngster is

learning, soaking it up like a sponge. He got that wrong! Plus

zero, that is about it. Squirming all over the place, it might not be

neat but it is effective. Dani Pedrosa really under the radar so

far. Bike number 99, he ran in to hot there. He lost a lot of time but

he was able to close the line back down. What he is trying to do now is

utilise as much power as he can and the only way to do that is to get

the bike... You can't carry the corners but you can use your body

weight, getting it up as quick as he can. 190 kilometres an hour over the

top. This is turned 13, this is Lorenzo corner. Marquez uses more of

the curb. That is go faster to Dani. He is going fast. That is sensation

not at this stage of the race. It is going to take some time. As I was

about to say, Dani Pedrosa was very much under the radar at the start of

the season, but he has been chipping away and chipping away. We know how

consistent he can be in the race. That is Marc Marquez having a little

roo -- look. Just 20 years old. is a sensational gap from Dani

Pedrosa who has worked so hard at this part of his game. Once again

Lorenzo is coming under massive pressure. He was expecting a bit

more of a gap, but if Jorge Lorenzo leaves a meter, he will get passed.

He had a little look and he realised there was not the gap he was looking

for. He cannot squeeze the breaks any more because he will crash. They

are trying to break as late as they can and keep that front tyre pressed

into the trap. It squashes the construction of the tyre, giving you

a bigger footprint on the tyre. Marquez will use more curb on the

inside. Generally he does. You cannot use all the horsepower it you

have got, they have got 250, but if you do, you will be too high in the

air. Lorenzo has got nothing over my cares. There we have the busy ozone.

That is stunning stuff. A bike. Behind him is Pirro and Bradley

Smith and Espargaro. Anyone can go to the factory and purchased that.

What sort of line was that? It is new and it is different. He is

thinking about it really hard and that is really close. He can taste

the same. They just all but touched. I nearly smelt it, I nearly smelt

rubber down. Lorenzo saw a gap and went for it at the top of the curb.

I am sure he is going to miss this corner by a touch. Marc Marquez sees

the gap and takes the curb on the inside. Lorenzo did a great job of

gathering it all up. This is not so much riding as crisis management. He

is trying to keep this guy at bay. He is using up all the track and not

leaving any gaps on the inside. He has got to try and keep on the apex

is all the time. It shows how hard he is having to ride. You do not

often see him making a mistake like that. In Qatar it was very boring,

but very effective from his point of view. It was a different story in

Texas and here he has got his hands full again. Bautista has got past

Cal Crutchlow. Look at this. It is sideways over the curb. You should

not be able to do that. What a picture that is, the focus and

concentration. That is just amazing. He is the most exciting

rider. He nearly found himself in the scenery. That is where so many

people have crashed. He will not be a popular boy if he takes out

Lorenzo. Marc Marquez can run at the same pace as Dani Pedrosa, but he

cannot get there. That is how close it was. This has been an absolute

godsend for Dani Pedrosa. It is wonderful blocking that Lorenzo is

providing. Dani is 33 points down. Marc Marquez, a youngster come in,

he just needs to pace himself a little bit. He has tried a few times

and it has not worked. If he can bridge that gap and get back in

front and see if Jorge has even more tyre issues. Valentino Rossi three

tenths faster than Marc Marquez, but there was a mistake from Marc

Marquez the last time. Bautista has got past Cal Crutchlow. I can

imagine Cal Crutchlow is in a lot of pain. And that will because in him

more pain again. He was superquick around here. He was the fastest

after all the practice sessions. But for a couple of crashes yesterday,

he would be running with the hounds right now. The Hondas seem to have

the best packages. It made logical sense, those Yamahas with good

high-speed handling. At the moment Cal Crutchlow is getting a snip.

Whatever Honda has found with that chassis, they have got the balance

good. In the past we have seen the Yamaha with that as its strongest

point. But at the moment it looks to me like the Honda has the advantage

into the corners as well, which is frustrating for Yamaha. The rule of

thumb is Yamaha is beautiful at handling when it is very fast, but

Honda is a great track dried. Pedrosa has a 2.5 second advantage

right now. Cal Crutchlow is still pressing on. 41.1 for him. 41.84

Marquez Ras time around. Cal Crutchlow is suffering a little bit.

Remember Dani Pedrosa? 2.7 seconds up the road. He has probably got

some time to have a slur on his drink bottle, kept in the backpack.

Most importantly he is in front of his team-mate. Lorenzo has regrouped

and got it back together again. He was so close to taking out Lorenzo,

and the paperwork would have been horrendous. Dani Pedrosa is not

cruising, but he has got that advantage and that clean air in

front of him. He can use the lines he wants to run all the time. Off

the line we go. Dani Pedrosa was the man. Turn to was where Lorenzo was

the strongest. I thought Cal Crutchlow had him there, but then

Valentino squeezed him out. seconds to 100 kilometres per hour.

We are riding with Dani Pedrosa. looked like he was going to try and

run with it on the outside, but it was not going to work. A perfect

launch from pretty much everyone. was kind of need. If you look at 35

and 46, they were side-by-side, but Valentino had the line and that was

the end of it. We are back at the scene of the crime. It is Dani

Pedrosa ahead. It will not seem like much to harm -- him with 13 laps

left. We will have two see how these motorbikes perform in the last few

laps of the race. The tyres will have deteriorated. They will not be

as good as they were for the first five laps, but they tend to level

out. These factory bikes are running 21 litres of fuel and they have

probably lost the best part of 14 or 15 kilos. It looks like the tank of

a conventional bike, but the fuel is under the seat. It is mass

centralisation to stop the bike pitching too much. This battle

between Crutchlow and Bautista is far from over. The Yamaha is trying

to sort out that Honda. He is not letting it go. Nicky Hayden is in

seventh place. It is not a bad performance. He is 12 seconds off

the lead. But he has got a covetable gap over his team-mate. Dovisiozo

thought he was going to get hassled. Number 41 is leading the

CRT championship, Espargaro. That is interesting, he is not the most

experienced runner in the field. If he can do well on this bike, does

that mean they have discovered something on the lab bike? I believe

they have. All the teams tomorrow will be running that bike. Dovisiozo

will be running that bike. Michael Lafferty is also having a good run,

up into 40, and in the points. He started 22nd and he has been

chipping away. He is doing well and running with the hounds. Michael

Laverty. It would be pretty tough leaving this circuit if you had

bowled over Lorenzo. He was under the radar screen. He was just there

or thereabouts, but he has got it nailed now. He had a big crash

yesterday, but it did not deter him. We know he is fragile and we know he

is small and we know he breaks easily... Bautista goes through. Dry

Sac corner is where all the moves are happening. Cal Crutchlow is

going to have another go at this. A fantastic scrap. This time he must

have it. Bautista is having a really good ride. That bike has different

suspension to any other bike. It runs with a shallow suspension. It

looks to be working. But everyone is testing here, they have got the

settings. They have done proper race runs in simulations, so they know

what the bike feels like after 25 laps because they have done it. And

talking to Matt at the start of the show, Cal was the fastest guy here.

He is using every bit of that suspension to try and find his way

around. That was the pass at the top of the hill. Bautista had the inside

line into Dry Sac corner. Cal labs nothing like a championship race.

is good for his points as well. By tripping over one another they are

losing a bit of time. We are ten laps to go so we are almost entering

the final chapter. I reckon Marc Marquez has closed the gap down a

bit. Just a 10th in the last lap. He is homing in. Maybe he was listening

to us, he had AIDS reader and a slurp on his drinks bottle. -- a

breather. He managed to push Lorenzo into a couple of mistakes. That is

Lorenzo knows that there is no point driving down the road if he can get

points for second. This is round be quicker. I am sure he is closing

in, just a 10th at a time. Current Moto2 champion. Look how much curb

he takes. It is not the grip or the traction, just a controlled slide to

bring him back onto the tarmac. You are making it a less acute angle on

the corner by grabbing a bit on the inside. It is very reminiscent of

Casey Stoner. You watch what Stoner used to get away with and he

obviously thought, it is possible. That is used! -- youth. Jorge

Lorenzo is closing down, a 10th every single lap. It is nearly the

last quarter of the race. If there is time for a lunch, this is it. --

Stefan Bradl went down. He struggled over the weekend and did quite well

to get back in but two crashes in three races is not what his team

wanted. I can't say too much about Aleix Espargaro, number 41, still

holding at bay Dovizioso. Dovizioso has about ten mph top

speed on that bike. On the brakes, down the inside on a prototype

machine that spent millions of pounds to develop, they changed it

about 18 times in the last seven years, the bike that Valentino Rossi

tribe to develop. Audi have wrought Ducati and they have got involved.

Espargaro rides it. The difference is that he is probably getting paid

about �2 million less than Dovizioso. Into the right-hander

there, Dovizioso being held up and he just can't tap on that power and

get this back and he will be mortally offended if this guy is in

front of him. Dovizioso has done a stellar job on the Ducati this year

but this is not his race. If he has a choice it will be out onto the

main straight. This guy, six laps remaining, he has a 3.67 advantage,

which I would never have thought possible after the performance over

the weekend. He clearly had something up his sleeve. It is good

for the championship to keep it tight at the top, you don't want one

or two going off into the distance. Dani Pedrosa has been the bridesmaid

too many times. He is a cool fella, Jorge Lorenzo, lots of experience,

two times MotoGP champion. doesn't know when he's beating,

Espargaro. Number 41 keeping his head down and you can see the legs

of the two catty dragging him down the pit straight but he bungles it

into the corner and is absolutely fearless. I think the Ducati had

passed him down the straight. We need to go round to that garage and

have a look at that motorcycle. very excited for the Ducati, with

the performance of Mick Kaley Pirro are still in 10th place. -- the

performance of Michele Pirro. Maybe they have discovered something and

the test tomorrow will reveal all. Laverty is at 14, really good ride

from him. Bike number 93, he can see the quarry, it is right in front of

him. The lab is almost identical to the last time around, so Lorenzo

using everything he's got to keep his position, keep it cool and keep

it upright, and Marquez, tonnes of exuberance, gagging to get past if

he can. Lorenzo is the smoother of the two, doesn't shift his weight

around as much. Marquez clambering off every which way. This is where

he is strong, on the brakes down here, but never has he seen a big

enough gap to take the dive. Valentino Rossi, in fourth place,

after two dozen laps he is five seconds off Lorenzo, at the top of

his game, reigning world champion, and Rossi, who is just coming back

to Yamaha, has conceded five seconds. I thought Rossi might

squeeze on the podium here, I thought one of the top three might

make a mistake, although I don't wish it on them. But Rossi is almost

certain to come home with a motorcycle underneath him. Pedrosa

had a slow lap there, a 140.6. He will regroup himself. He will be

talking to himself, keep calm, don't brake too early. You do, you talk to

yourself. Dani would have to have a monster problem now. Look at that

Honda close him down. That was more than just the fact that the Yamaha

was braking early. Bradley Smith has jumped ahead of Michele Pirro into

the top ten. Cal Crutchlow, a manly fifth. This is still not over. It

does look as if Lorenzo has been able to keep that tyre working, the

speeds we have been talking about, and you will see a big drop-off when

we get down to the speeds of Aleix Espargaro. They are doing better,

288 for Pedrosa. 2.3, so he lost half a second last time around, Dani

Pedrosa. He can drop another two halves and just get away with it.

Lorenzo gets a sniff of that exhaust fume coming out from in front. He

will do everything he can to drag himself back to the Honda. Has Dani

Pedrosa blasted those tyres away, is he getting tired? He admitted he got

tired in Texas, he lost the feeling in his arms because he said it was

too strenuous around that circuit. He knows this circuit. You can see

that the gap has come down, about 2.3 seconds. You would have to guess

that it is slightly too late for the blue Yamaha to make a lunch. --

lunge. You are spoiling the fairytale. It would be really tough

stuff at this point. The only thing that can happen is Dani Pedrosa will

see his time coming down so he needs to stretch themselves a bit more. We

are going to start the last lap. The final corner, start of the last lap.

A bit of anxiety there. Pedrosa crossed the line, he stabilised it

there. You would have to say he is home and dry as long as he keeps it

down. Is there anything that Marc Marquez can do? Does he have a

lastgasp? He has to be on the inside of Lorenzo on the turning point.

Look at the body language of the 93, saying, I have to get past him.

He is right on the back wheel. defensive line from Lorenzo. He is

having a lunch through. Back through goes Lorenzo. It was worth a try,

sunshine. You have to give him points for effort. He went out wide,

you couldn't brake because he was on the dirty part of the track. Still

not over, still on the final corner. It is close enough. That would be

rude, passing Lorenzo on Lorenzo corner. We are coming down through

the lastgasp, building at speed. is going to have a go. They have

connected. He has muscled his way through. Lorenzo is pushed off on

Lorenzo Corder. Will he get a yellow card for that one? That you have got

to give him points for effort. Cal Crutchlow comes across the line in

fifth place. What about that? ! That was a tough move. That will be

replayed in spades. We had a situation when Lorenzo would not

speak to Dani Pedrosa. Is he now going to speak to Marc Marquez?

Lorenzo is going to be absolutely furious. Incandescent with rage. I

think Marc Marquez is going to apologise. Take us through it. You

can see him building all the time. He misses the apex. Really it was a

bit strong. I think race direction will have a bit of a word. Lorenzo

could not turn into it. You can see him shaking his head and saying, you

little toe rag. It completely blew the corner and stayed on. You can do

that once or twice, but it will come back. It is a rough and dirty race.

Marquez is wonderfully smart as spectacular, but he has made a of

enemies on his way through Moto three and Moto two. He has just made

another one. I remember Moto two in Qatar last year, he is rough and

tough, but he gets the job done. one, his team-mate 58, and Lorenzo

57. That was not the mass Lorenzo was working on. -- the maths.

will be a bit of blue paint on the Yamaha. It will be quite interesting

to see the body language. I am looking forward to this one. I

cannot wait for the podium. It will be fascinating and never dull.

Marquez is the equivalent of rolling a grenade under the table. Everyone

has to stand up. That is the nice one of the two. A brilliant ride by

Dani Pedrosa. He was like a stealth bomber all weekend, under the radar

and then bang. I think there will be a word with the race directors.

difficulty is always Marc Marquez was going to say I tried, I had to

pick the bike up. He could not get it stopped, but it was a bit of a

brave move to try and do. You can make a mistake and hit somebody else

and everyone can survive. That is outrageous, we know, he should not

be doing that. But there is no rule that says you have two followed the

race line. There is somebody on the outside of view, that is the trick.

There will be a few strong words. It is so reminiscent, we will dig it

out for the next round with Rossi and Jiminez. Dani Pedrosa. He has

got himself back on track. He had a horrendous time in Qatar. He got

beaten by Marc Marquez, but he was solid in second place. He is in the

running in the championship. There are going to be no holds barred from

here on in. If you want an interesting championship, you were

warned. This guy is a hard charger. Valentino Rossi in fourth place. At

the end of its 3.8 from Lorenzo. He will be his benchmark. Nice work

from Cal Crutchlow as well. Given what he was carrying into the race,

he did a stonking job, I think. Bradley Smith in the top ten.

Michael Laverty in 30th place, some proper points. That is great news

for the team. I completely agree. That is no mean feat from Laverty on

a bike that is really a home built machine. Well done, Cal Crutchlow, I

bet you are sore, but you can take a hot bath tonight. He rode very well.

This is going to change the tone of things. OK, he must be furious.

and for the bike that we had today, we made the maximum. That is it,

That was very politically correct. But Marc Marquez leads the

CRT machine. There were a few crashes in the very early stages of

the race. It is maybe never dull.It was the perfect race and your first

one of the season and were better for it to come? Thanks, it was a

fantastic job. All the weekend we were showing good pace. It was not

clear in the race because of the drag end of the tyres. When I got in

front I tried to push my rhythm, but not too hard because I did not want

to destroy the tyres. I was going fast, but in a good way and it was a

Marquez does not try. I am sure Jorge Lorenzo has got a few words

for you. Was it a fair one? It was an incredible race. It was so hard

to stay there with Jorge and Dani, but I pushed in all the race and on

the last lap I did 110%. I wanted to say sorry to Jorge. But the most

important is that everybody has finished the race. I am very happy

because it is important for me because it was quite hard. Do you

understand why he is angry? Yes, if he did it to me, I would be angry.

But it is the race. Many times it has been like that, but on the last

lap you give 100% and I saw that I could pass him and I tried. Fair

point. It was a tough old move and we have seen it happen. Do you think

it is fair? No, I do not. Would you penalised him? No, I would not

penalised him, but I would say, just watch yourself. How is Cal feeling?

He is looking tired. You held off Bautista for a fifth place. Yes, it

was the best thing we could do on the day. Bad luck comes in threes

and I did not want to crash again, so I finished the race. I managed to

get back to of are. I lost the front a few times on the first five laps

and I was run off the track. But I am happy. We finished in the top

five again. The first satellite bike. It has been a difficult

weekend. As soon as the track temperatures came up, we need to

work in that area when we have a full fuel tank in these conditions.

That is where we need to improve. Jorge wrote great. I do not think

our package as the Yamaha was the strongest this weekend. Especially

in the conditions when there is no grip. We just lacked a little bit

because normally I think Jorge Lorenzo would be away with this

race. We will go from here and we had some questions today, and I will

go away from here and recover. should be happy enough as well, it

was more than a great effort. It was as tough as you like. I bet Lorenzo
