Good evening. Welcome to the North West 200. Will come alive to the

:00:11.:00:16.

north coast. It is Northern Ireland's most exhilarating and

:00:16.:00:26.
:00:26.:00:52.

The North West 200 for 2011 is Alastair Seeley has got this one

:00:52.:01:02.
:01:02.:01:07.

Well, the North West 200 big race day is tomorrow, and to whet the

:01:07.:01:14.

appetite, we have an action-packed 40 minutes for you here on BBC One.

:01:14.:01:18.

I'll be live in team garages here in the paddock which are filled

:01:18.:01:21.

with some of the most expensive racing machines in the world, and

:01:21.:01:28.

I'll be talking to some priceless guests as well. Steve Parrish and

:01:28.:01:32.

Philip McCallen. I will also be introducing you to some of the

:01:32.:01:37.

North West's top contenders like Guy Martin. Now, he knows as much

:01:37.:01:41.

about boats as he does about bikes, so we took him somewhere where we

:01:41.:01:49.

thought he would feel at home. And find out who we took to check out

:01:49.:01:52.

the golf course. With the best of last night's wheel-to-wheel action,

:01:52.:01:57.

and a debut from one of our best- ever riders, and we will be talking

:01:57.:02:02.

like to the multiple world Superbike champion, Carl Fogarty.

:02:02.:02:06.

But first, the North West wouldn't be the North West without the most

:02:06.:02:11.

famous name in motorcycle road racing, Dunlop. The late brothers

:02:11.:02:16.

Joey and Robert won an amazing 28 times around the circuit. And now

:02:16.:02:19.

Robert's two sons, Michael and William, are two of the main

:02:19.:02:24.

attractions here. We know that they can ride bikes. But what about

:02:24.:02:28.

riding the waves? We thought we would take Michael Dunlop to meet

:02:28.:02:38.
:02:38.:03:07.

BEACH BOYS: Surfin' USA. You must be getting some sort of drug from

:03:07.:03:16.

it. Yes, once you are up on your feet, it is really enjoyable. It is

:03:16.:03:22.

obviously not like the buzz of the North West 200? There is no buzz

:03:22.:03:29.

like that, but they think it would be as good. I think it is

:03:29.:03:39.
:03:39.:03:40.

definitely on next sport to come Alastair, you are a world-class

:03:40.:03:46.

surfer. Tell us little about it, and the buzz and the thrill. I am

:03:46.:03:53.

lucky that I live in Portrush. You get good waves on the coast. We get

:03:53.:03:59.

to serve on the biggest waves in the world. I told him how to do it

:03:59.:04:03.

on the beach for five were 10 seconds, and he was out on his feet.

:04:03.:04:13.
:04:13.:04:16.

He is a natural. I have been riding a Fire blade. We have gone back to

:04:16.:04:22.

the good old ZX 10 that we had last year. It is a change from the

:04:22.:04:26.

Yamaha. But sometimes a change is different, and hopefully we can be

:04:26.:04:34.

better than we had last year. Come North West, I'm ready. We'll see

:04:34.:04:39.

how Alistair gets on on the back of a motorbike a little later. One of

:04:39.:04:49.
:04:49.:04:51.

the real characters of road racing is Englishman Guy Martin. Mr let's

:04:51.:04:58.

talk to Mr John McGuinness. first time I came here was 1994,

:04:58.:05:03.

and I really missed it. I got invited back, and we're here and

:05:03.:05:08.

really enjoying the North West again. I know you were around today

:05:08.:05:10.

where there is a fantastic exhibition opened by William Dunlop

:05:10.:05:20.
:05:20.:05:20.

earlier this week of Joey Dunlop memorabilia. It is fabulous. If you

:05:20.:05:26.

ever get the chance to go to Gerry's Bar, and I pulled my own

:05:26.:05:32.

pint of Guinness there. We have a little bit of banter down there.

:05:32.:05:37.

The amount of people coming in and out was incredible. There are so

:05:37.:05:41.

many people going into the Memorial Gardens, and people from Brazil and

:05:41.:05:47.

people from Australia and all over the world. I went to see some of

:05:47.:05:54.

jury's memorabilia. It brought back some great memories. He was my all-

:05:54.:05:58.

time hero. Thank you very much. Good luck tomorrow, I know you'll

:05:58.:06:02.

be as competitive as ever. One of the real characters of motorcycle

:06:02.:06:08.

road racing is Englishman Guy Martin. You may have seen him on

:06:08.:06:12.

his BBC TV series last year, The Boat That Guy Built. As well as a

:06:12.:06:15.

top bike racer, he's a fan of all things engineering so we knew

:06:15.:06:25.
:06:25.:06:49.

exactly where to take him - Look at this! It looked like he was

:06:49.:06:59.
:06:59.:07:01.

right up your street in there. it was. The building, it did take

:07:02.:07:06.

us long to build this as it took to build the Titanic. Three years. I

:07:06.:07:11.

only found that out. It has the longest single span escalator in

:07:11.:07:16.

the whole of Ireland. And you have re-enacted a whole lot of the bits

:07:16.:07:26.
:07:26.:07:29.

You have always got to offer a little incentive now, it can't be

:07:29.:07:32.

done in monetary terms, it has to be summoning a stimulates them and

:07:32.:07:38.

get them interested. They have thoroughly enjoyed their experience,

:07:38.:07:48.

I think. This was the place to get your big ship built. And Hector

:07:48.:07:56.

would have you believe he worked on the Titanic, probably. I thoroughly

:07:56.:08:02.

enjoyed it. It was well worth taking a day off work. We always

:08:02.:08:12.
:08:12.:08:16.

get a good bit of fun out of A Would it be the biggest spectator

:08:16.:08:21.

event in Northern Ireland? How do you fancy him? I think he'll be

:08:21.:08:29.

good. I have lap records, but I have not won a race. It would be

:08:29.:08:39.
:08:39.:08:40.

nice. It would be nice if we could win it, and we can win it. I am not

:08:40.:08:50.
:08:50.:08:54.

going out there to be second. A win One of Guy Martin's teammates is

:08:54.:08:56.

the red-hot North West 200 favourite. Alistair Seeley from

:08:56.:09:03.

Carrickfergus believes he can win all five races tomorrow. He is a

:09:03.:09:08.

big fan of his golf, and we thought that with the Irish Open taking

:09:08.:09:18.
:09:18.:09:57.

place, it would be the first -- the Alastair Seeley says he is going to

:09:57.:10:01.

beat my record this weekend, but I am going to beat him here on the

:10:01.:10:05.

golf course. He did say I could choose the course, and I have got a

:10:05.:10:15.
:10:15.:10:28.

Alastair, this is a big week for you. Definitely. I enjoy coming to

:10:28.:10:34.

the North West every year. I have a bike I feel the most comfortable on.

:10:34.:10:40.

It is so fast and enjoyable. We will go as fast as we can. What

:10:40.:10:44.

about Saturday? Very going to tow them around, or will you just pull

:10:44.:10:54.
:10:54.:10:54.

the finger out? It will be nice to pull their finger out, so it is

:10:54.:10:59.

going to be mentally fatiguing, but by the time it comes to the end

:10:59.:11:06.

race, hopefully we can do the business. We have a game to finish.

:11:06.:11:14.

Yes. We are now on the final hole, and Michael might equal my record

:11:14.:11:24.
:11:24.:11:24.

this year, but he won't beat me They are both useless at golf!

:11:25.:11:32.

Philip McCallen, the only rider to win five races at one North West

:11:32.:11:38.

200. Well, let's see how Alistair got on in the first race of this

:11:38.:11:41.

year's North West 200, last night's Superstock class. On commentary,

:11:41.:11:47.

Richard Nichols and Steve Parrish. Superstock on the grid, and we are

:11:47.:11:54.

ready for six laps of the nine-mile course. And we are away! They are

:11:54.:11:59.

scrambling for grip there. It is dry on this section. Everyone is on

:11:59.:12:04.

wet tyres. And they sort of need to be, although the sun is shining at

:12:04.:12:08.

the end of a rainy afternoon, you can see the damp patches on the

:12:08.:12:12.

road. There will be problems for these riders all round this circuit.

:12:12.:12:19.

You can see how quickly we go down to York Road corner. There is no

:12:19.:12:23.

choice but to go for wet tyres, because around the back into the

:12:23.:12:33.
:12:33.:12:38.

circuit, it is going to be a lot Here comes the second wave now.

:12:38.:12:48.
:12:48.:12:50.

Some people didn't qualify it well on Tuesday. In that group, there is

:12:50.:12:56.

Guy Martin and Michael Johnson, all starting in the second wave. 180

:12:56.:13:06.
:13:06.:13:09.

miles an hour in wet conditions. Look who his hit the front. Look at

:13:09.:13:19.
:13:19.:13:19.

the speed he is running at, that is very, very impressive. It is

:13:19.:13:27.

Alastair Seeley out in front. He didn't quite get the start. There

:13:27.:13:35.

are a lot of people betting on him. Look at that! Nice and easy,

:13:35.:13:41.

slipping into the university. Look how dark those clouds are, they

:13:41.:13:49.

could be some more rain about. It is Alastair Seeley, a number 34,

:13:49.:13:55.

Ryan Farquhar, Bruce Anstey as they come round the roundabout. He Bruce

:13:55.:14:01.

Anstey made a good start, you never know what to expect with him.

:14:01.:14:10.

there in the pack at the moment. Look at the speed their! Alastair

:14:10.:14:16.

Seeley was quick on that Suzuki. Alastair Seeley is very sharp, he

:14:16.:14:21.

will be revelling in these conditions. It is fairly wet, they

:14:21.:14:28.

didn't want in between weather. Standing water in a couple of

:14:28.:14:36.

places there. You got to carry speed through here and get on with

:14:36.:14:43.

it. That is exactly what we saw. We can also see that Alastair Seeley

:14:43.:14:53.
:14:53.:14:59.

has managed it. Check out the speed. Almost 180. That is Michael Dunlop

:14:59.:15:05.

running a wide, he has gone a little bit too deep. Some place

:15:05.:15:15.
:15:15.:15:23.

swapping going on. It is Alastair Seeley's day. Swooping around the

:15:23.:15:29.

coast road now. This part of the track is the dry section now. This

:15:30.:15:39.
:15:40.:15:42.

is Cameron Donald. Again, a look at the speed. That is very impressive.

:15:42.:15:49.

Bruce Anstey is under all sorts of pressure there. He was almost out

:15:49.:15:59.
:15:59.:16:03.

of the seat. He needs all that traction control. Ryan Farquhar has

:16:03.:16:09.

put his head down looking for Alastair Seeley. William McDonald

:16:09.:16:17.

shaking his head there, he is not happy. Cameron Donald looking for

:16:17.:16:21.

the slip streams. These are identical machines and they have

:16:21.:16:29.

already caught number for her, John Guinness. I had my money on John

:16:29.:16:37.

McGuinness, his body language is very aggressive. Look at Michael

:16:37.:16:47.
:16:47.:16:51.

Rutter. Look at the wiggle their, that is those treaded tyres. It is

:16:51.:17:01.
:17:01.:17:03.

all over the brisk and state. -- all over for Bruce Anstey. That is

:17:03.:17:13.
:17:13.:17:14.

Ryan Farquhar at the front of the bunch. One minute he is in the

:17:14.:17:24.
:17:24.:17:25.

needed this group, the next he is at the back. The track is trying

:17:25.:17:35.

quite a bit. It is a Johnson. Oh, that was very impressive staff.

:17:35.:17:45.

Slow in and fast out. It is hard to believe this circuit is so wet as

:17:45.:17:51.

we see the shadows from the sun. Look at Lee Johnson! Very late on

:17:51.:17:55.

the brakes. You can see him at getting it back but he has gathered

:17:55.:18:05.
:18:05.:18:17.

it all up, so nicely done from him. This man serenely sweeping around

:18:17.:18:23.

the track. It is it? Alastair Seeley, the man who won the only

:18:23.:18:31.

race last year. We haven't seen him a virtually since the beginning of

:18:31.:18:39.

the race. Superb stuff, 22 seconds out in front. What is happening

:18:39.:18:49.
:18:49.:18:49.

behind him? Lee Johnson takes second place. Cameron Donald just.

:18:49.:18:59.
:18:59.:19:10.

That was close enough. There is the Number 34 it takes his six North

:19:10.:19:17.

West went. Philip McCallen will be quaking in his boots.

:19:17.:19:21.

This is the winning machine, complete with the winning the

:19:21.:19:25.

laurels and of course with the winning rider. How satisfying it

:19:25.:19:32.

was that victory? It was good and obviously I enjoyed it. It was good

:19:32.:19:36.

to get a winner so early in the week. The race went to plan and I

:19:36.:19:40.

managed to get to the fund pretty early and write my own race. I got

:19:40.:19:45.

a bit of a gap and that got me far enough in front not to get any

:19:45.:19:52.

slipstream so I just watched my boards and a mink is a good

:19:52.:19:55.

improvement and I'll probably use it again tomorrow. Great

:19:55.:19:58.

celebrations in the winner's enclosure, the question is, can you

:19:58.:20:06.

go through tomorrow, can you win or five races? I will try my best, it

:20:06.:20:10.

is a hard feet to do but if I roll- out of the right side of bed and

:20:10.:20:14.

everything goes to plan, it is not impossible. I will try my best and

:20:14.:20:20.

give it everything. Philip McCallen is missing, by the way? I will try

:20:20.:20:23.

and he will be the first to congratulate me if I do but a lot

:20:23.:20:28.

of things have to be right. I have great machinery underneath me, a

:20:29.:20:36.

solid day on Tuesday. It is just a matter of getting a good sleep

:20:36.:20:41.

tonight, a good breakfast in the morning and come out of the traps

:20:41.:20:49.

with guns blazing. We will let you get to sleep for all the help you

:20:49.:20:55.

need. It is 20 years since up McKellen won his five titles. A

:20:55.:21:02.

year later, one of the most successful riders had a victory

:21:03.:21:09.

here in the NatWest 200 after years of trying.

:21:09.:21:19.
:21:19.:21:34.

-- North West 200. With me is the man himself, back

:21:34.:21:41.

after 19 years. Carl Fogarty, how good is it to be here? It is great,

:21:41.:21:47.

I cannot believe it has been so long it. To get that when in 1993

:21:47.:21:51.

was one of the highlights of my career. A special time to be racing

:21:51.:21:58.

here. The two key a few years to get that elusive victory? Yes,

:21:58.:22:03.

became the previous three years on the Honda and we had some problems,

:22:04.:22:09.

usually fuel problems. I thought I will never get the win here and

:22:09.:22:19.

then the year after we got the two winds and went on to short success.

:22:19.:22:24.

You wore a lucky green vest then which means a lot to you in your

:22:24.:22:32.

career now? Someone says, you need to wear a green vest or something

:22:32.:22:38.

green so I wore a green vest and I won both races. I kept the best on

:22:38.:22:48.

in Spain and one at the races there. It was cut from my body I had the

:22:48.:22:52.

big crash in Philippi. How much are you looking forward to getting out

:22:52.:22:56.

tomorrow on a bike again doing laps of the circuit? Really looking

:22:56.:23:00.

forward to it, I just have to remember where the new chicanes are.

:23:00.:23:05.

I've only done half a lap one way and have a lap the other but I am

:23:05.:23:09.

looking forward to getting out there will stop it should be great

:23:09.:23:17.

fun. Great to see you here, always a pleasure. One man that you know

:23:17.:23:23.

very well, he decided to make his debut in the North West 200, former

:23:23.:23:28.

motoGP starts Jeremy McWilliams, at the age of 48. We got multiple

:23:28.:23:34.

Superbike winner St Peter to show him around.

:23:34.:23:44.
:23:44.:23:51.

-- Steve Plater. It's simple enough here, for the

:23:51.:23:59.

first part anyway. Everybody seems to hit that curb on the way out.

:23:59.:24:08.

You can pass on the inside. How do you work out every game marker?

:24:08.:24:15.

the right-hand side, it is simple to see because it is quite narrow.

:24:15.:24:25.
:24:25.:24:33.

It is going to be a flat to it. looks really stop, start. Look how

:24:33.:24:43.
:24:43.:24:48.

negative it goes here. Can you see that Paul? Yes, then you in. It is

:24:48.:24:52.

something quite new to me but I am looking forward to it, looking

:24:52.:25:00.

forward to the technical section on the coast road. There is quite a

:25:00.:25:08.

bit of learning. How did Jeremy the fair in his very

:25:08.:25:14.

first of West 200 race, he was riding in these familiar colours

:25:14.:25:21.

for the Ryan Farquhar KMR team. Here is the best of the action.

:25:21.:25:31.
:25:31.:25:31.

Adrian Archibald on a pole position. Head down, good start. Ryan

:25:31.:25:38.

Farquhar closing in already. The course is still not perfect.

:25:39.:25:43.

can see the damp patches of now as they headed down towards their hair

:25:43.:25:53.
:25:53.:26:00.

in. You can see the track is very wet on the inside. This is the

:26:00.:26:10.
:26:10.:26:12.

second wave of the grid. That was a journey McWilliams. This is Adrian

:26:12.:26:22.
:26:22.:26:30.

Archibald. Up through comes number five, Michael Rutter. Oh, Michael

:26:30.:26:36.

butter is on the right hand side of him. It is a breakdown into the

:26:36.:26:46.
:26:46.:26:46.

You could see him going right the way down through the gears there,

:26:47.:26:54.

right from flat-out down to walking pace, almost. Ryan Farquhar has an

:26:54.:27:00.

intermediate front and a dry rear tyre. It is not a very dry here as

:27:00.:27:06.

we ride With Jeremy McWilliams. You do need slipstream. They are on the

:27:06.:27:14.

break going into the chicane. You can see the slipstream at work.

:27:14.:27:24.
:27:24.:27:26.

Those twin cylinders grumbling Now it is the long fast run down.

:27:26.:27:31.

Look at Ryan Farquhar, he is snaking everywhere. Grim and

:27:31.:27:35.

determined is the look on his face as Adrian Archibald just chop

:27:35.:27:42.

saying. Under the bridge, turning right, and then a short circuit

:27:42.:27:52.
:27:52.:27:55.

over the coast road. This part is McWilliams has gone for the inside.

:27:55.:28:01.

Just goes floating through there. Ryan Farquhar with his head down,

:28:01.:28:08.

but Williams is in second place. Looking at the conditions, I do

:28:08.:28:11.

think Ryan Farquhar has gone for the right option, intermediate

:28:11.:28:19.

front and dry rear. And Adrian Raja bowled his writing and alongside,

:28:20.:28:27.

they can almost read the dials on each other's machines. On board

:28:27.:28:34.

with McWilliams later on the break. If you run off, it is really tricky.

:28:34.:28:42.

Ryan Farquhar has a commanding lead, it looks like about three seconds.

:28:42.:28:49.

The godfather of Supertwins making his mark very clear here. Michael

:28:49.:28:53.

Rutter again haven't seen his bike until he got out here, but I think

:28:53.:29:03.
:29:03.:29:04.

Michael Rutter comes out behind him to get in his slipstream and try

:29:04.:29:08.

and get a toe. Ryan Farquhar has already thinking about his break

:29:08.:29:18.
:29:18.:29:19.

for the Metropole. He uses the inside line to good extent. You can

:29:19.:29:29.

see them scrapping for grip. It is Ryan Farquhar, McWilliams, Adrian

:29:29.:29:33.

Archibald. We weren't really expecting this on the first

:29:34.:29:37.

Supertwins at the North West, the first Thursday night racing and it

:29:37.:29:47.
:29:47.:29:47.

is red hot. All of the Kawasaki's, not expensive bikes to build. What

:29:47.:29:55.

racing this is producing. -- all of the Kawasakis. He doesn't want to

:29:55.:30:00.

be back there. He wants to join the fun at the front. McWilliams there

:30:00.:30:04.

slotting into second position a round that corner. It doesn't seem

:30:04.:30:10.

to be drying much on this section, in the shelter. Ian Lougher is

:30:10.:30:20.
:30:20.:30:22.

battling his way through. You can hear that different noise. There is

:30:22.:30:26.

McWilliams looking back from Adrian Archibald. You can see the

:30:26.:30:32.

helicopter trying to keep up with them in the background. That is 100

:30:32.:30:39.

horse power on the brakes. How close to you like that? Impressive.

:30:39.:30:44.

Can he stop for the turn? He can? Ryan Farquhar is still comfortable

:30:44.:30:54.
:30:54.:30:54.

up the front, no pressure. They are all on the care MA machines, the

:30:54.:31:02.

bikes built by Ryan Farquhar. They are using the dry bit of the road

:31:02.:31:06.

and the slipstream, and streaking past. Michael Rutter goes with him,

:31:06.:31:13.

trying to get there and going as well. You can see that bike moving

:31:13.:31:19.

around a lot, that heavily traded front tyre doing the job.

:31:19.:31:25.

McWilliams, I reckon he is closing him down a little bit. This isn't

:31:25.:31:33.

over yet. This is so close, and we are still a yards away from the

:31:33.:31:41.

start/finish line as we get this sorted out. Adrian Archibald 4th,

:31:41.:31:47.

James McWilliams 5th. Ryan Farquhar will be very pleased about this.

:31:47.:31:51.

These are the worst conditions you could have, wet patches and dry

:31:51.:31:55.

patches, overworking the tyres in the dry and not enough grip in the

:31:55.:32:01.

wet. Ryan Farquhar hasn't put a foot wrong, and he is very pleased

:32:01.:32:05.

with that. If he looks behind him, he will be even happier. What a

:32:06.:32:15.
:32:16.:32:20.

podium for him. Look at that. Care An unforgettable day for the

:32:20.:32:25.

Kawasaki team. Filling the podium, and two of those men are with me.

:32:25.:32:29.

How much did you enjoy watching that back again? That is the first

:32:29.:32:36.

time I have seen it, pretty exciting stuff. I think we did the

:32:36.:32:43.

team proud, and did a good job when we came out here. Ryan, is that

:32:43.:32:48.

your best-ever day motorcycling? have to say it is. It is the one

:32:48.:32:55.

thing to win the North West 200, but to have two other riders riding

:32:55.:32:59.

bikes for you, and both of them on the podium, that is something very

:32:59.:33:05.

special. Jeremy, I imagine it is a decision you certainly don't regret.

:33:05.:33:13.

How did you enjoy the overall North West 200 experience? It is bringing

:33:13.:33:18.

a smile out on my face. It is something I always wanted to do,

:33:18.:33:24.

and I never thought I would get another chance. I have to say that

:33:24.:33:28.

yesterday it was one of those special days. And you will be back?

:33:28.:33:35.

That depends if he wants me back, not. It is not the start of my road

:33:35.:33:39.

racing career or anything, but to ride the North West is something I

:33:39.:33:44.

wanted to do, and to finish on the podium as a dream come true. I

:33:44.:33:48.

think it was the right choice going on a 650. It is a pretty scary

:33:48.:33:53.

circuit, and learning at this level it is right. Thanks to the team and

:33:53.:33:57.

all the effort everybody has put in, and to the fans who came along and

:33:57.:34:03.

gave us the support. The fans want you back again, and Ryan, you sound

:34:04.:34:09.

tired, but you will be up for tomorrow? I am looking forward to

:34:09.:34:18.

riding Superbike tomorrow. I am polling for the Superstock, so

:34:18.:34:22.

hopefully I can give Alastair Seeley more of a run than the way

:34:22.:34:27.

it worked out yesterday. Good luck. Pressure is off after that great,

:34:27.:34:31.

great day. Thank you very much, gentlemen. Earlier in the programme,

:34:31.:34:35.

we saw how Michael Dunlop got on surfing with Alastair Mennie. Well,

:34:35.:34:40.

he wanted to her say that what it was like on a bike rather than a

:34:40.:34:50.
:34:50.:35:00.

wave. I have been kind of worrying Look at the speed, they are doing

:35:00.:35:09.

I can tell you, the front of the bike will be so light with that

:35:09.:35:17.

weight on the back. Just looking around, look at those eyes. Well, I

:35:18.:35:25.

would not want to be doing that. Here they come back, and Michael

:35:25.:35:29.

Dunlop is still with us. They were going to strap him on, but he has

:35:29.:35:39.
:35:39.:35:46.

clung on. Just look at his size! Man, this man is... There were

:35:46.:35:55.

wheelies and all! I am speechless... And then Peter Bryan McCormick for

:35:55.:36:00.

the loan of the leathers for Alastair Mennie. I'm here with

:36:00.:36:06.

Steve Parrish. -- thank you to Brian McCormick. I wouldn't want to

:36:06.:36:11.

get on the back of that. This week, a record has gone, the fastest ever

:36:11.:36:15.

speed recorded at the North West 200, Martin Jessop at 208 mph

:36:15.:36:21.

through the speed trap. And they don't know if he has done yet, the

:36:21.:36:28.

wind was behind him, but no slipstream, and he reckons he can

:36:28.:36:33.

go faster yet. The weather forecast is favourable for tomorrow. Could

:36:33.:36:37.

be used this be one of the most competitive North West 200s we have

:36:37.:36:47.

seen? I think so. He has got five wins now, and could go away with 10.

:36:47.:36:54.

The 600 race should be good, the Superbikes. It should be absolutely

:36:54.:36:59.

cracking out there. It will be some spectacle. Am looking forward to it.

:36:59.:37:03.

Looking forward to hearing Ewen the commentary box tomorrow. We have

:37:03.:37:09.

every angle covered for you tomorrow. Join us on the BBC Sport

:37:09.:37:19.
:37:19.:37:31.

Now at the start of the programme we said the North West wouldn't be

:37:31.:37:34.

the North West without the name of Dunlop. Well, take a little look at

:37:34.:37:38.

this bit of footage we've dug out of the archive. This was Joey's

:37:38.:37:45.

original racing transit van back in the 1970s. He used to take this van

:37:45.:37:50.

to races with his bike and his family in the back of it, and the

:37:50.:37:55.

family used to sleep in it as well. It is not as iconic as the famous

:37:55.:37:59.

yellow helmet, but take a look. And here it is. Well, not quite the

:37:59.:38:02.

original, but a very special replica which has been lovingly

:38:02.:38:06.

restored. And look who we have in the back, Philip McCallen with that

:38:06.:38:11.

famous yellow helmet. And think you have found your next victim to take

:38:12.:38:18.

back out on the waves Alastair Mennie! Steve Parrish is going to

:38:18.:38:21.

drive us. We are ready to rumble tomorrow morning, and we look

:38:21.:38:26.
