200 the spectacular north coast of Northern Ireland, home to one of

:00:23.:00:28.

the most exhilarating sporting events in the world. Welcome to the

:00:28.:00:38.
:00:38.:01:11.

Relentless International North West got this one done and dusted.

:01:11.:01:21.
:01:21.:01:24.

Last year's event was curtailed because of an oil spill and bad

:01:24.:01:29.

weather, but this year, conditions are perfect. It is fast, furious

:01:29.:01:33.

and frightening. This is one of the few places in the world where you

:01:33.:01:39.

will see wheel to wheel motorcycle racing at speeds over 200 mph. And

:01:39.:01:43.

some of the best riders on the planet are here to compete around

:01:43.:01:48.

this unique nine miles circuit on the closed public roads between the

:01:48.:01:53.

towns of Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine. We have to the top

:01:53.:02:01.

contenders from across the Irish Sea. Some of the finest motorcycle

:02:01.:02:07.

racers from Down Under. And the very best of our home-grown talent,

:02:07.:02:11.

hoping to thrill that tens of thousands of spectators with a

:02:11.:02:15.

local win. One rider has been on the podium here more times than

:02:15.:02:25.
:02:25.:02:25.

anybody else. Phillip McCallen. He took Cameron Donald on a flying lap.

:02:25.:02:29.

The North West 200, one of the fastest circuits in the world. We

:02:29.:02:34.

are about a mile from start, finish. In my day, this was flat through

:02:34.:02:39.

here. What is the difference? have a roundabout. Once we leave

:02:39.:02:44.

York, we come up the hill region third gear on the Superbike, up to

:02:44.:02:52.

130 mph, slowing down to first year, 25 mph around the corner. We are

:02:52.:02:58.

now going into Station Corner, the fastest corner on the circuit. In

:02:58.:03:05.

my day, we would knock it off for a bit, 160 mph. It is now about 180

:03:05.:03:10.

mph. This is what racing is all about. Fifth gear, rolling it off a

:03:10.:03:16.

little bit. This is an important corner. If you want to hit 200 mph,

:03:16.:03:23.

you have to come through as fast as possible. Mather's Cross probably

:03:23.:03:27.

was one of the most difficult, tactical corners in road racing. It

:03:27.:03:35.

is coming up at 180 mph. Hard on the brakes, as we approach this

:03:35.:03:40.

chicane. Still a very challenging corner, but a lot different than

:03:40.:03:46.

back in your day. Black Hill, it is all about the last lap. It is a

:03:46.:03:50.

heck of a corner. It is a flying crest on to the big stretch, the

:03:50.:03:55.

Coast Road, as your last chance to get a win. We hope to see you on

:03:55.:03:59.

the podium, but that is what it takes to do a fast lap at the North

:03:59.:04:09.

For the first time, organisers introduced racing on more than one

:04:09.:04:14.

day at the North West 200, and the first two races were won by a local

:04:14.:04:24.
:04:24.:04:35.

looks so strong. -- Seeley. The hopes are resting on the outcome of

:04:35.:04:45.
:04:45.:04:51.

day. He took the honours in the Supertwin race, but also his team-

:04:51.:04:57.

mates were second and third to fill the podium up -- places. And

:04:57.:05:01.

Alastair Seeley was the start to finish a winner in the Superstock

:05:01.:05:10.

class. That was Alastair Seeley's 6 North West 200 win. And he is in

:05:10.:05:14.

pole position for the first race of the day, the Supersport class. Only

:05:14.:05:19.

one rider has ever won five races in a year at the North West 200,

:05:19.:05:23.

Phillip McCallen. But if this man can win a clean sweep today, he

:05:23.:05:27.

would rewrite the record books. No pressure, but can you win or five

:05:27.:05:37.
:05:37.:05:38.

It is not impossible but you need a lot of luck, and to be in the right

:05:38.:05:42.

place at the right time. I have prepared pretty well. I have set

:05:42.:05:46.

some benchmarks, fast lap times in practice. This will probably be the

:05:46.:05:50.

hardest race, the Supersport class, because the bikes are so even and

:05:50.:05:54.

it is just down to slipstream, being in the right place. I am

:05:54.:05:57.

looking forward to it. This is the first race and it is a matter of

:05:57.:06:02.

getting a decent result and building on it. Thank you. That is

:06:02.:06:06.

a man is fighting fit because he has been training full-time in

:06:06.:06:10.

Northern Ireland. He will have his work cut out because alongside him

:06:10.:06:16.

on the front row, two talented individuals. His team-mate,

:06:16.:06:21.

Englishman Guy Martin, and the road racing legend, John McGuinness,

:06:21.:06:24.

riding for the Padgetts Honda team. This race is going to be an

:06:24.:06:34.
:06:34.:06:38.

absolute cracker. Time to join the row, there is a depth of talent at

:06:38.:06:41.

the North West 200 this year that is going to make every race into a

:06:41.:06:47.

cracker. Have a look at the Grid. Strength in depth is what the North

:06:47.:06:51.

West 200 has, more than any other road race on the planet. On the

:06:51.:06:56.

second row, Dunlop, Jonson and Stefano Bonetti. Michael Dunlop,

:06:56.:07:00.

Cameron Donald and Adrian Archibald John Rothery, and Ian Hutchinson

:07:00.:07:03.

back on the racetrack after his nasty accident at the beginning of

:07:03.:07:09.

the year. We are run for a cracking race to start the day. I think the

:07:09.:07:13.

great shows a trace of the weather which afflicted us earlier in the

:07:13.:07:18.

week. But the forecasters were dead right, and this one will go in what

:07:18.:07:22.

amounts to blazing sunshine here at the North West 200. We look down

:07:22.:07:27.

from a helicopter. The Grid is clear it and they point to the red

:07:27.:07:33.

light. Away they go, a good start for Alastair C-diff. Even better

:07:33.:07:38.

for John McGuinness. Guy Martin looks like he has got a hold of it.

:07:38.:07:48.
:07:48.:07:51.

We are on board with John at the start. John McGuinness and

:07:51.:07:55.

Guy Martin side by side. McGuinness had the inside line into the

:07:55.:08:02.

hairpin. Martin had to think again about that one! There was a lot of

:08:02.:08:07.

talk about Alastair Seeley before this. Let's have a look at the

:08:07.:08:17.
:08:17.:08:19.

second wave. He had a big accident last year at them accident -- the

:08:20.:08:24.

Mexican Grand Prix. We are back with Alex the Seeley, looking back

:08:24.:08:34.
:08:34.:08:37.

at John McGuinness. -- alliss to goes blasting past Alastair C leave.

:08:37.:08:46.

This is what the North West 200 is all about. Look at Cameron Donald

:08:46.:08:53.

on the top. It is a William Dunlop. Where on earth did he come from?

:08:53.:09:02.

is in the lead. It does not matter what position you are in, as long

:09:02.:09:09.

as you are in the lead group at this point in the race. We are

:09:09.:09:16.

looking back at Alastair Seeley. William Dunlop in front. Bruce

:09:16.:09:26.
:09:26.:09:38.

Anstey, number five, he was on road the running. This is the Ballysally

:09:38.:09:43.

roundabout. Back on to the home straight. Along here, the bumps are

:09:43.:09:49.

unbelievable. It looks flat out, but they start to bounce about

:09:49.:09:58.

because it is so bumpy. Super quick as well. Reaching over 160 mph and

:09:58.:10:04.

already thinking about the breaking point at Mather's Cross. There is

:10:04.:10:12.

all sorts going on. Somebody has gone on. I did not see who it was.

:10:12.:10:19.

It was Gary Johnson. I don't think he gained any advantage. I think he

:10:19.:10:23.

carefully weighted to pick up his place, so no advantage gained and

:10:23.:10:31.

no penalty. But advantage to William Dunlop. Earlier days, still.

:10:31.:10:35.

On the first lap, it is about being in the leading bunch. But it does

:10:35.:10:38.

your confidence good to lead. William Dunlop, Majestic through

:10:38.:10:48.
:10:48.:10:52.

the chicane. So aggressive on that 600. You need to carry speed out of

:10:52.:10:59.

there if you can. It is all about the run to Metropole. It is John

:10:59.:11:04.

McGuinness, closing in on Cameron Donald. Who could forget Cameron

:11:04.:11:13.

Donald last year, putting in a stunning performance. Mrs Alastair

:11:13.:11:20.

Seeley's territory. You have to move your body around. He was right

:11:20.:11:23.

on the edge. You would think he would take it steady on the opening

:11:24.:11:28.

lap, but he was right on the edge of the breaking through that

:11:28.:11:32.

section be on the Metropole. And he is very anxious down on the Coast

:11:32.:11:37.

Road section to get on with getting past William Dunlop. He thought he

:11:37.:11:43.

had a chance. He almost overcooked it. John McGuinness is behind in

:11:44.:11:48.

third place. This is great from John McGuinness, because he has

:11:48.:11:52.

been a big bike specialist in recent years. He wrote at world

:11:52.:11:58.

level on the 612 years ago. And here he is riding with the likes of

:11:58.:12:02.

Alastair Seeley and William Dunlop. He was very sharp in the practice

:12:02.:12:07.

week, John McGuinness. Every session, he went out, no matter

:12:07.:12:12.

what the weather. Look at the body language from Cameron Donald, so

:12:12.:12:18.

aggressive. The Sun has really just come out at the start of the race.

:12:18.:12:27.

Fingers crossed we will not get any rain today. It looks good. Track

:12:27.:12:31.

temperature will be quite cold right now. Not on these tyres. They

:12:31.:12:37.

will be fully warm at the end of the first nine mile lap. Six laps

:12:37.:12:44.

in all. We have four more to go, and then this one. Cameron Donald,

:12:44.:12:48.

leading the group. Look at the power of the Honda coming out as

:12:48.:12:53.

they go to the roundabout. Still William Dunlop against Alistair C

:12:53.:13:03.
:13:03.:13:14.

leave. McGuinness is struggling to him? Nobody else's red and yellow

:13:14.:13:20.

light that. Flat out yet again. This is what makes the North West

:13:20.:13:30.
:13:30.:13:30.

200 unique. Five or six bikes abreast. Wow! The scariest corner

:13:30.:13:36.

in road racing, flat out on a 600. No slacking going through there.

:13:36.:13:42.

William Dunlop is pulling away. All of the talk before the race was of

:13:42.:13:46.

Allister Seeley possibly getting five, and William Dunlop has said

:13:46.:13:51.

that he is his biggest rival, the man to beat. Bruce Anstey comes

:13:51.:13:57.

driving alongside Cameron Donald. There was some slipstream going on

:13:57.:14:03.

behind him, Gary Johnson, I think. It was. We are looking at John

:14:03.:14:08.

McGuinness, trying to really in the leaders. William Dunlop, superb. He

:14:08.:14:13.

has been such a good ride on the 600 in recent years. He came to the

:14:13.:14:23.
:14:23.:14:35.

for second place. -- the John McGuinness. This was the battle at

:14:35.:14:41.

the front of the second wave. It is now it for a second place. William

:14:41.:14:49.

Dunlop is on his way. Alastair Seeley has still got him in his

:14:49.:14:59.
:14:59.:15:19.

William Dunlop? The Honda, in a straight line, is a rocket. This is

:15:19.:15:26.

a much more flowing chicane than the one before. I am very impressed

:15:26.:15:32.

with John McGuinness so far. I would not have predicted him in the

:15:32.:15:42.
:15:42.:15:48.

top three in the 600 with Alastair Seeley. Have they given away

:15:48.:15:53.

anything through the twisty bits? Cameron Donald with John Simm

:15:53.:16:03.
:16:03.:16:11.

tracks are presume of Michael Dunlop? Not I did breezy look --

:16:11.:16:18.

pre-season for Michael Dunlop. Michael Dunlop is by Cobbing this

:16:18.:16:28.
:16:28.:16:41.

Dunlop, the way he is showing Alastair Seeley the way. A lot of

:16:41.:16:51.

this is about the horsepower of the Wilson Craig Honda. William appears

:16:51.:16:56.

to be on the V6? I think any of them will tell you that the Honda

:16:56.:17:02.

has the edge over the Suzuki in a straight line. Perhaps that is why

:17:02.:17:08.

John McGuinness is going so well. William is making do bite work. Oh,

:17:08.:17:18.
:17:18.:17:32.

had a disappointing night the other night, 15th place. That is it for

:17:32.:17:40.

Archibald, game over. There is no sign of John Magennis behind Seeley.

:17:40.:17:50.
:17:50.:17:55.

Oh, there he is. The race's halfway down. It is all down to William

:17:55.:18:05.

Dunlop. He does not have to worry about see coming up on him. --

:18:05.:18:09.

Alastair Seeley. He has to hope that Alastair Seeley does not Mabel

:18:09.:18:17.

into his lead. Last year we saw a battle between Alastair Seeley and

:18:17.:18:26.

Cameron Donald. Glorious sunshine, and you can see

:18:26.:18:29.

big gap back to second place, Seeley in third place, and an

:18:29.:18:39.
:18:39.:18:49.

eternity behind them. We are going towards the Ballysally roundabout.

:18:49.:18:59.
:18:59.:19:07.

Seeley and John McGuinness. You have no choice but to cross the

:19:07.:19:15.

camber while being under par. On the bigger bikes, they will be

:19:15.:19:25.
:19:25.:19:40.

clinging on. John McGuinness for a Mather's Cross so chicane. --

:19:40.:19:50.
:19:50.:19:57.

to be pulling him back so Cameron Donald cannot bridge the gap to

:19:57.:20:07.
:20:07.:20:21.

Dunlop into Metropole, look at Alastair Seeley. If John McGuinness

:20:21.:20:25.

can stay there, he could pull something out of the back at the

:20:25.:20:31.

end. Eight Johnson couldn't catch Cameron Donald, he is going to

:20:31.:20:35.

track around the coast road with him. You will not see a lot of

:20:35.:20:39.

overtaking along here unless you happen to be Alastair Seeley in a

:20:39.:20:45.

chicane, in which case, look out! He is not close enough to William

:20:45.:20:51.

Dunlop to worry about going through the chicane. We have got William

:20:51.:21:01.

Dunlop, who has never won a four- stroke race around this circuit. He

:21:01.:21:06.

is just blowing all the Hyde Park out-of-the-way, all of the talk

:21:06.:21:14.

about Alastair Seeley. -- all of the high-power out of the way.

:21:14.:21:19.

he has got a hand injury. I figure it is his right hand that is a

:21:19.:21:23.

problem for him. He is doing a brilliant job out there and a

:21:23.:21:29.

surprise job as well. He is a problem for Alastair Seeley. I am

:21:29.:21:39.
:21:39.:21:56.

amazed he has not made any inroads Donald. We might see some

:21:56.:22:03.

overtaking going into the hairpin. He is not close enough just yet. He

:22:03.:22:08.

needs to be a little closer to Cameron Donald. Maybe next time, if

:22:08.:22:12.

they are in the same position on the next lap. Of course, the laps

:22:12.:22:19.

are counting down. Gary Johnson looking very good indeed. Cameron

:22:19.:22:23.

Donald seems to be fading. He is not catching up with the leaders

:22:23.:22:33.
:22:33.:22:34.

and he is not keeping his distance from Gary Johnson. Maybe Cameron

:22:34.:22:41.

Donald might have best idea and it has halted his momentum? -- missed

:22:41.:22:51.
:22:51.:22:53.

a gear. Honda horsepower, pulling away. Wilson Craig Honda Spa. Gary

:22:53.:23:00.

Johnson is on a Honda as well but Wilson Craig seem to have that

:23:00.:23:09.

tuned so sweetly. Only two things could beat him, misfortune or

:23:09.:23:13.

stamina. Five races might be too much for a guy who normally only

:23:13.:23:23.
:23:23.:23:34.

has to on a normal race day. Here he comes. John McGuinness, objects

:23:34.:23:38.

on the on-board camera are closer than they appear, so he has not got

:23:38.:23:41.

it as easy as it looks. Gary Johnson just tracking Cameron

:23:41.:23:51.
:23:51.:23:53.

Donald round. Gary Johnson head into the roundabout. Gary Johnson

:23:53.:24:02.

might have got a few vital mm. would have predicted, John Magennis,

:24:02.:24:12.
:24:12.:24:15.

third race? And William Dunlop in the lead. This is a very difficult

:24:15.:24:22.

chicane. It is much more difficult and it is easy to make a complete

:24:22.:24:32.
:24:32.:24:33.

mess of it. Cameron Donald, being chased by

:24:33.:24:43.
:24:43.:24:44.

Gary Johnson. We are riding with Alastair Seeley through the chicane.

:24:44.:24:53.

We are looking at a back marker? We are. Cameron Donald will go past

:24:53.:25:03.
:25:03.:25:06.

him. Yes! Maybe Gary Johnson might close in. It is evenly spaced.

:25:06.:25:11.

gap has come down between William Dunlop and Alastair Seeley, but

:25:11.:25:18.

still comfortable for William Dunlop. Gary Johnson, really good.

:25:18.:25:22.

William Dunlop does not need to see Alastair Seeley in his tracks on

:25:22.:25:32.

this next that. -- next lap. Alastair Seeley and John McGuinness

:25:32.:25:38.

might just be disappearing. That was the perfect line out of

:25:38.:25:44.

Metropole. Alastair Seeley is definitely pulling away from John

:25:44.:25:48.

McGuinness and closing up onto the back end of William Dunlop. The gap

:25:48.:25:54.

between William Dunlop and John Magennis is as big as it ever was,

:25:54.:25:58.

but Alastair Seeley is on the move. That was a good lap from Alastair

:25:58.:26:04.

Seeley. That might put William Dunlop under pressure. John

:26:04.:26:09.

McGuinness might be thinking, 40, third place, first race today,

:26:09.:26:18.

might settle for this. Alastair Seeley is right behind William

:26:18.:26:27.

Dunlop now, as in, I am about to pass you! I am not so sure he is

:26:27.:26:31.

close enough. We will have to wait and see, maybe next time. He will

:26:31.:26:38.

not get him at York. He has closed right in. He has! Where has that

:26:38.:26:46.

come from?! It is a red flag that stops the race as Alastair Seeley

:26:46.:26:53.

takes the lead. We go back one lap and that means that it is victory

:26:53.:27:03.
:27:03.:27:14.

for William Dunlop. Maybe William He looks very tired and very happy

:27:14.:27:21.

and why not? Is that the biggest win of your

:27:21.:27:26.

career so far? In it is up there. It has been a long time from

:27:26.:27:30.

getting a win and it is nice to be the first one to get it. You got

:27:30.:27:35.

the bit between their teeth, didn't you? I thought if I could get to

:27:35.:27:38.

the front I could maybe get away, and that was what happened. It was

:27:38.:27:43.

hard to keep the pace on my own. I got tired and made some mistakes,

:27:43.:27:53.
:27:53.:27:57.

but I made it. The North West 200 isn't the only

:27:57.:28:01.

massive sporting event taking place on the north coast this year. Next

:28:01.:28:04.

month, Royal Portrush hosts the Irish Open golf Championship and

:28:04.:28:09.

you will never believe he we find cutting the grass!

:28:09.:28:19.
:28:19.:28:20.

You play a bit of golf, don't you? I was meant to be playing today but

:28:20.:28:27.

they have got me cutting the grass. Maybe I will get a game in later. I

:28:27.:28:35.

have got a ride on Mullaghmore, it is fantastic. -- a lot more.

:28:35.:28:42.

was it racing against Michael Rutter? It was a great experience.

:28:42.:28:51.

It was great fun. How much are you looking forward to this year's

:28:51.:28:55.

North West 200? We have build a bike specially for this event.

:28:55.:29:00.

Obviously it is different rules. We can use a slightly different engine.

:29:00.:29:10.
:29:10.:29:15.

It is only very slightly different. Any bid highlights? The streets,

:29:15.:29:22.

there is nowhere else like it. -- the streets. We have not won since

:29:23.:29:26.

2008, and there are lots of brilliant Irish lads coming up with

:29:26.:29:36.
:29:36.:29:43.

some brilliant backs and some very Michael Rutter, along with a jelly

:29:43.:29:47.

Dunlop, the most successful Superbike rider in the history of

:29:47.:29:51.

this event. -- Joey Dunlop. There are dozens of newcomers from as far

:29:51.:29:56.

away as Brazil making their debut at the event this year, but it is a

:29:56.:30:00.

newcomer from Northern Ireland who has grabbed the headlines, Jeremy

:30:00.:30:10.
:30:10.:30:15.

McWilliams, at the age of 48. This career on the roads but plied his

:30:15.:30:19.

trade on the Grand Prix short- circuits, taking on the likes of

:30:19.:30:29.
:30:29.:30:36.

48 he has not yet hung up his leathers. And now he is taking on a

:30:36.:30:41.

new challenge and doing his homework with the aid of a North

:30:41.:30:51.
:30:51.:30:51.

It is something new to me. I'm looking forward to the section on

:30:51.:30:54.

the Coast Road. Because of the nature of the circuit, it is quite

:30:54.:30:59.

different on this side to the Coast Road side. There is quite a bit of

:30:59.:31:05.

learning. It was strange to see a Grand Prix hero wearing the new,'s

:31:05.:31:10.

orange top. And then the big moment, his North West 200 debut in the

:31:10.:31:20.
:31:20.:31:25.

took to the North West 200 like a doctor water, even though Adrian

:31:25.:31:31.

Archibald came along to say hello at one point. -- like a duck to

:31:31.:31:36.

water. What a day it would turn out to be, finishing second along his

:31:36.:31:40.

team mates, Michael Rutter and Ryan Farquhar. I never thought I would

:31:40.:31:44.

get the chance to open a bottle of champagne on the podium, but there

:31:44.:31:50.

is no feeling like it. So it was a dream debut for Jeremy McWilliams.

:31:50.:31:55.

Time for the Superbike race. There was history made at the North West

:31:55.:32:00.

200 in practice, when Martin Jessop went through the speed trap at an

:32:01.:32:10.

amazing 208 mph. What was that It was fast, and I knew it was fast.

:32:10.:32:14.

It was a bit of a shock because I have spent the season riding the

:32:14.:32:20.

Supersport bike. That was my first lap out, so it was a bit of a shock.

:32:20.:32:25.

You are on the second row in a good position on a good bike. What about

:32:25.:32:30.

winning the race? That would be amazing. Even to be speaking about

:32:30.:32:34.

the chance of winning. I have never even been near the podium. We

:32:35.:32:38.

qualified second last year but with the weather we did not get to race.

:32:38.:32:44.

The main thing is to have a safe race and do the best we can. Is a

:32:44.:32:49.

good start absolutely key? Yes. We need to get down to the hairpin at

:32:49.:32:53.

York as quick as we can and try to get past a couple and then it will

:32:53.:33:03.
:33:03.:33:07.

spread out a bit heading down practice is more difficult.

:33:07.:33:11.

qualified well last year and he was quick out of the box on his out lap.

:33:11.:33:21.
:33:21.:33:25.

But he is in the middle of the crashed in the Supersport race. We

:33:25.:33:29.

will have to wait to see if he comes back in the next race. Going

:33:29.:33:39.
:33:39.:33:43.

down through the grid, so much qualifying. They are almost 50

:33:43.:33:48.

bikes out on the start line. This will be a very busy six laps.

:33:48.:33:52.

Alastair Seeley could argue he was saving the best to last and the

:33:52.:33:56.

Supersport race. Maybe this time he will make sure he gets to the front

:33:56.:34:02.

quicker than last time. Another cracking start by John McGuinness.

:34:02.:34:07.

Ian Hutchinson is in third place as they go down Primrose Hill to York

:34:07.:34:12.

for the first time. We are with Michael Dunlop on a Honda. Michael

:34:12.:34:16.

Dunlop did not get the start he might have wanted. Let's go to the

:34:16.:34:20.

front of the field and see what the lead it -- the leading Borderers.

:34:20.:34:27.

It is still John McGuinness. That is a bit of a shock, isn't it?

:34:27.:34:37.
:34:37.:35:01.

Farquhar did not get a good start grid. This is the race. He did not

:35:01.:35:07.

want to be left behind at the start like last time. Whether Hutchinson

:35:07.:35:17.

can keep this going over six laps is another question. 200 mph as

:35:17.:35:25.

they go down there. No one in this race will be doing less than 195

:35:25.:35:32.

mph along there. Out of the seat, it was Alastair Seeley, momentarily.

:35:32.:35:38.

There is a hump in the circuit there. Sealey is leading the late

:35:38.:35:42.

breakers. Ryan Farquhar nearly made it up the outside. Where has he

:35:42.:35:49.

come from. He was about 15 per going into the York hairpin. -- he

:35:49.:35:59.
:35:59.:36:10.

is trying to use the draft. Michael Dunlop is close enough to get towed

:36:10.:36:17.

along by the bikes in front. They will hit the brakes for Mather's

:36:17.:36:22.

Cross, the chicane. You want to be sitting up at the 300 metres board

:36:23.:36:32.
:36:33.:36:41.

at the very least. You want to be on the brakes by 200. Ryan Farquhar

:36:42.:36:46.

with that new Kawasaki Superbike, using all of his power, as they

:36:46.:36:50.

waved their front wheels in the air. That was getting up to 190 mph

:36:51.:36:59.

again. Michael Rutter, a great start from him, in third place.

:37:00.:37:06.

Ryan Farquhar in 4th. Ian Hutchinson in fifth. What will we

:37:06.:37:14.

see from Conor Cummins today? That is Cameron Donald on the Wilson

:37:14.:37:23.

Craig Honda. Hillier is going very well again. Hutchinson nearly got

:37:23.:37:30.

taken. Look how many bikes are involved! James Hillier just scoots

:37:31.:37:38.

past. Gary Johnson wants some of that as well. Along the Coast Road,

:37:38.:37:42.

this is where it turns into short circuit racing. One of the best

:37:43.:37:47.

corners in motor sport coming up ahead of you. You cannot really see

:37:47.:37:56.

it there, but it was breathtaking. Out front, Alastair Seeley, John

:37:56.:38:03.

Magennis and Michael Rutter. John McGuinness was third in the

:38:03.:38:08.

Supersport and now second. This is his territory. Alastair Seeley on

:38:08.:38:13.

the Coast Road, his territory. This is going to be a corker. Michael

:38:13.:38:18.

Rutter in third, he did not have a great grid position. He obviously

:38:18.:38:22.

got a good run, because of the couple of missing people.

:38:22.:38:28.

Nevertheless, third place for Michael Rutter. And you must

:38:28.:38:31.

remember that Alastair Seeley is running on British Superbikes

:38:31.:38:41.

settings. They have knocked back the traction control. Again, it is

:38:41.:38:46.

a super showing from him. Also from Ryan Farquhar. That is a brand new

:38:46.:38:52.

Superbike. This time, he is almost on level pegging. He has only had

:38:52.:38:58.

the bike a few days. He is also almost on Michael Rutter's tail

:38:58.:39:04.

pipe. Looking very, very good. Hutchinson has lost another couple

:39:04.:39:09.

of places. Maybe he is feeling it. He is not as strong as he needs to

:39:10.:39:13.

be for Superbike racing. He is getting bundled backwards in the

:39:13.:39:20.

crowd. Ryan Farquhar against Michael Rutter out front. And then

:39:20.:39:26.

the battle for fifth place with about nine or 10 names. Bruce

:39:26.:39:36.
:39:36.:39:36.

Anstey, one of those names. He has woken up! How can you tell? Don't

:39:36.:39:42.

they look great and sound great? The fastest, most challenging

:39:42.:39:46.

corner in road racing. Ryan Farquhar tries to make the pass on

:39:46.:39:52.

Michael Rutter. Some of them will further the back brake over there

:39:52.:39:56.

to try to get the front wheel back down. Some of them say they roll

:39:56.:40:06.
:40:06.:40:13.

down a bit -- they will back a bit, every day of the week. He is one of

:40:13.:40:22.

the smoothest ride as you will see on any road race on the planet.

:40:22.:40:26.

Conor Cummins has been getting some good mentoring this weekend is

:40:26.:40:36.
:40:36.:40:37.

conference's right back up. Ryan Farquhar is on the Superbike and he

:40:37.:40:41.

has really had one hand tied behind his back in Superbike races of late,

:40:41.:40:47.

but this time he has a good chance. Look at the draft. It is pulling

:40:47.:40:51.

him closer and closer. Many would have expected Michael Dunlop to be

:40:51.:40:58.

closer to the front. Into the Mather's Cross chicane, following

:40:58.:41:04.

the Padgetts Honda of Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson has got past Ian

:41:04.:41:12.

Hutchinson and has Martin Jessops in front of him now. There is

:41:12.:41:22.

another battle going on at the front. He has just blown past two

:41:22.:41:29.

bikes in one breath. And then he loses it again. Michael Rutter from

:41:29.:41:39.

Ryan Farquhar. It is Alastair Seeley and McGuinness out front.

:41:39.:41:48.

Rutter knows that Ryan Farquhar is there. There is a big screen down

:41:49.:41:55.

there for them to watch, so they do not miss the action. Sublime from

:41:55.:42:02.

Rutter. Inch-perfect. Also from Ryan Farquhar. Not so much their

:42:02.:42:07.

from Michael Rutter, a little squirm. But nothing to really give

:42:07.:42:17.
:42:17.:42:20.

his momentum any cause for concern. Paul Owen is a 250 man. He has this

:42:20.:42:24.

1000 cc machine and he got this deal late in the day. He is just

:42:24.:42:29.

glad to be out there. John McGuinness is glad to be out there

:42:29.:42:34.

as well! Where is Alastair Seeley? He should have been in that picture

:42:34.:42:42.

and he was not. There he is now! What happened to Alastair Seeley?

:42:42.:42:47.

He has missed a gear or done something. He is now down at the

:42:47.:42:54.

back end of the field. He is at the tail-end, in the bottom end of the

:42:54.:42:59.

top 10. 14th, Alastair Seeley. It is all over. He is going to pick

:43:00.:43:05.

them off, but he only has a couple of laps to get back to the front.

:43:05.:43:09.

You save 14th, but that is almost as good as fifth, because they are

:43:09.:43:13.

bunched together and maybe he could still get a podium out of this.

:43:13.:43:18.

They are bunched together. Although it looks spaced out, when you see

:43:18.:43:26.

them on the ground it is nose to tail. John McGuinness is now the

:43:26.:43:31.

race leader. He is free and clear with no one to bother him. He just

:43:31.:43:36.

has to sit there and ride his bike, doing his day-job, and he will pick

:43:36.:43:46.
:43:46.:43:48.

up another North West 200 win. Bruce Anstey is tucked in. He is

:43:48.:43:53.

not in it, really. Cameron Donald, with his distinctive crash helmet,

:43:53.:43:57.

with Michael Dunlop behind him and then Bruce Anstey. Look how close

:43:57.:44:04.

they are. There are not big spaces between them. John McGuinness is

:44:04.:44:12.

leading the race. Conor Cummins, just past by Alastair Seeley.

:44:12.:44:17.

see what Alastair Seeley can do. Gary Johnson had a moment as well.

:44:17.:44:27.
:44:27.:44:35.

He has lost some places and is at as they go for the brakes at

:44:35.:44:44.

university. William Dunlop, saw her in hand department. Alastair Seeley,

:44:44.:44:49.

a demon in the breaking department. Alastair Seeley takes its superbly,

:44:49.:44:55.

another non dom. I do not think he was expecting Alastair Seeley to

:44:55.:45:03.

come up behind him like that. is a rider down. It is William

:45:03.:45:12.

Dunlop. He is walking away, so William Dunlop went across the

:45:12.:45:16.

grass. He said his hand was sore and he said he did not think he

:45:16.:45:24.

would get to the end of the race. Cameron Donald in the slipstream

:45:24.:45:31.

and starting to move up. He is going to do the pair of them!

:45:31.:45:41.
:45:41.:45:42.

Paroled William Dunlop. -- a shame for William Dunlop. That is William

:45:42.:45:52.

Dunlop's bike being cleared away. He always walks a bit like that.

:45:52.:45:57.

What a race this is turning out to be. Alastair Seeley, back to 14th

:45:57.:46:03.

place. He is finding the speed that we know he is capable of and that

:46:03.:46:13.

he is perhaps looking for from his bike. They are very close together

:46:13.:46:20.

on the run down towards Metropole. If you take their high line on the

:46:20.:46:27.

right hand side you can sweep through the corner. This low-lying

:46:27.:46:34.

sometimes requires you to turn tighter and you lose it on the exit.

:46:34.:46:39.

Cameron Donald almost pushed out and James Turley are almost coming

:46:39.:46:49.
:46:49.:46:55.

The wonder whether he can get on the podium, he is right in the mix.

:46:55.:47:02.

He is not far from a podium finish. If he pulls this off, and he has

:47:02.:47:12.
:47:12.:47:17.

got time, it would be akin to George Best. Nose to tail through

:47:17.:47:27.
:47:27.:47:29.

the final chicane. John McGuinness leading the race. This is a race

:47:29.:47:35.

for the last few places in the top six. It is as fierce and intense as

:47:35.:47:40.

the one for the first few places. This has been defused by Alastair

:47:40.:47:47.

Seeley's moment, wherever that was. John McGuinness is running home for

:47:47.:47:50.

another when Aba North West 200. Who would have bet on John

:47:50.:47:58.

McGuinness? It is not over yet. McGuinness has got a good lead.

:47:58.:48:04.

Last time, the advantage was 10 seconds. Cameron Donald will not

:48:04.:48:14.
:48:14.:48:31.

just out of the Magheraboy chicane. Taking a high line, he is under no

:48:31.:48:37.

pressure. Alastair Seeley goes past Ryan Farquhar and is now in second

:48:37.:48:46.

place! What a ride! Another lap to go after this one. I do not think

:48:46.:48:51.

for poor will get past Alastair Seeley. He is having a go. Alastair

:48:51.:48:57.

Seeley is so determined. So too is Ryan Farquhar, still on for a

:48:57.:49:03.

podium finish. Either way, this will be a good result for Northern

:49:03.:49:13.
:49:13.:49:17.

Ireland. For the record, Ryan Farquhar has gone too deep.

:49:17.:49:23.

cannot have both. John McGuinness, going back to Alastair Seeley, and

:49:23.:49:27.

another lap to go. It is durable but it would be the right of his

:49:27.:49:37.

life if he is going to catch John McGuinness. -- the ride of his life.

:49:37.:49:47.

I do not think even Alastair Seeley is going to catch John McGuinness.

:49:47.:49:53.

He is not close enough for John McGuinness to worry about. This is

:49:53.:50:01.

a return to form for Conor Cummins. John McGuinness, into the chicane

:50:01.:50:11.

at Mather's Cross. John McGuinness has been strong all week. In every

:50:11.:50:16.

qualifying session he has been there, wet or dry, on time. He does

:50:16.:50:21.

not seem if he is taking it terribly seriously, John McGuinness,

:50:21.:50:29.

ever. He always seems very laid- back. He cannot afford to be led

:50:29.:50:37.

back, but he looks like he has got it in the back. Four seconds, maybe

:50:37.:50:41.

3.5 seconds for Alastair Seeley to take it out of him. He is leaving

:50:41.:50:44.

Ryan Farquhar and Roger behind. It is all down to John McGuinness as

:50:45.:50:54.

he goes around Metropole. I think we are looking at a genius. He just

:50:54.:50:59.

rides the race. You just cannot touch him. Nobody is going to catch

:50:59.:51:05.

John McGuinness before the finish line now. It would take a mistake.

:51:05.:51:08.

All of the talking about Alastair Seeley getting five Honor Oak,

:51:08.:51:16.

looks like he will get another second place. -- five in a row.

:51:16.:51:20.

Fantastic recovery after he overshot Church Corner. Showing

:51:20.:51:25.

what an outstanding rider he is. John McGuinness in a lead. The sun

:51:25.:51:30.

is blazing down on another little piece of history. Alastair Seeley,

:51:31.:51:35.

he needed to win this to get his record and he is not going to do

:51:35.:51:39.

that. It put him under a lot of pressure. He has got to win the 600

:51:39.:51:49.

race later to be in with a chance. Michael Dunlop, too fast. I was

:51:49.:51:55.

going to say, Conor Cummins has lost a handful of places. Michael

:51:55.:51:59.

Dunlop will have to make sure he does not go out in front of him.

:52:00.:52:03.

That chicane comes up very quickly. You have just got to know it is

:52:03.:52:08.

their added is easy to make mistakes like that. No advantage

:52:08.:52:18.
:52:18.:52:31.

will be a very lucky motorcycle racer. That is a battle for third

:52:31.:52:34.

place at the North West 200. Michael Rutter, a great performance

:52:34.:52:39.

on a Kawasaki. I think he will be really happy. If you had asked him

:52:39.:52:44.

what he would finish, if you had said podium, he would have given

:52:44.:52:48.

you a stern look. This is a great performance on a Kawasaki so far.

:52:48.:52:57.

Ryan Farquhar on a Kawasaki as well. He knows that Ryan Farquhar is

:52:57.:53:04.

tired at the end of this race. It takes it out of you. He is thinking,

:53:04.:53:10.

if I ride smoothly, the podium is there for the taking. The

:53:10.:53:16.

slipstream will help him past Station Corner. Alastair Seeley, he

:53:16.:53:22.

took that 2.5 seconds out of John McGuinness. It looks like John

:53:22.:53:32.
:53:32.:53:33.

McGuinness has got this one. Third place up for grabs. Third place,

:53:33.:53:43.
:53:43.:53:43.

Michael Rutter. Cameron Donald coming into the picture as well.

:53:44.:53:53.
:53:54.:54:03.

Lead at the speed he is gaining. -- Seeley in second place. Cameron

:54:03.:54:07.

Donald wants to get involved and he is running out of time. I cannot

:54:07.:54:17.

get over Alastair Seeley or -- in second place. He is chasing after

:54:17.:54:27.
:54:27.:54:32.

John McGuinness. Martin Jessop, looking to see who is behind him in

:54:32.:54:42.
:54:42.:54:52.

13th place. Michael Rutter, being buffeted as we go back to Bruce

:54:52.:55:01.

Anstey. I do not think he will catch Cameron Donald in fifth place.

:55:01.:55:09.

He never stops trying. Cameron Donald, he has passed Ryan Farquhar

:55:09.:55:13.

and has now got Michael Rutter in his sights. There is the race

:55:13.:55:22.

leader, just a Coast Road to go for John McGuinness. He is not going to

:55:22.:55:30.

give up his lead to Alastair Seeley now. The battle for third place is

:55:30.:55:35.

very much on. I think we have seen the best of Ryan Farquhar on this

:55:35.:55:39.

race. We are looking down on John McGuinness. Another Superbike win.

:55:40.:55:47.

He. One a few years ago. -- he got one. It will be when No. 6 for John

:55:47.:55:57.
:55:57.:55:57.

McGuinness. A-class the wind from John McGuinness, as always. There

:55:57.:56:05.

is Alastair Miss Suu Kyi -- Alastair Seeley. The chequered flag

:56:05.:56:14.

will fall for John McGuinness. Where's the chequered flag, John

:56:14.:56:24.
:56:24.:56:39.

How good did that feel? Fantastic. Alastair Seeley came past me and I

:56:39.:56:46.

was trying so hard to hold onto the back of him. He went straight on at

:56:46.:56:51.

Church Corner and that was his mistake. I put two or three fast

:56:51.:57:01.
:57:01.:57:01.

laps in. I just said today, I will finish where I finish. I decided to

:57:01.:57:11.
:57:11.:57:23.

A fantastic Superbike win for John McGuinness. Phillip McCallen, your

:57:23.:57:27.

record is saved. John McGuinness saved my record there. He got off

:57:27.:57:31.

the blocks and got a good start. Alastair Seeley came back at him

:57:31.:57:36.

and made a mistake. It just shows you, no matter how well you prepare

:57:36.:57:40.

yourself, you make that mistake and you lose the race. What a great day

:57:40.:57:45.

for the Wilson Kray racing team so far? The Wilson Kray team, the

:57:45.:57:55.
:57:55.:57:55.

Dunlop name, they are there. -- Wilson Craig. Alastair Seeley

:57:55.:58:05.
:58:05.:58:06.

thought he hadn't, and it was William Dunlop. Great racing

:58:06.:58:12.
