violations. -- for Australia. Nikola Mirotic got over it.

:00:00.:00:14.

Spain wanting to fast break. Mirotic was down underneath and then Gasol

:00:15.:00:25.

joins the attack. Mirotic with the offensive rebound. Tries for Gasol,

:00:26.:00:30.

that will be a backcourt violation. The first turnover is for Spain, it

:00:31.:00:36.

will go to Australia. It's not quite the explosive start that Serbia made

:00:37.:00:40.

against Australia and ran out to a massive lead early one. But Spain

:00:41.:00:44.

are certainly stopping the Australians from playing the game

:00:45.:00:47.

that they want to play. The outside tuning is not working, they need to

:00:48.:00:51.

find solutions. Patty Mills has not got into the game. This is again the

:00:52.:00:55.

test for Australia. How do they recover? Mirotic is out. Waiting for

:00:56.:01:07.

Rudy Fernandez to take more outside shots. A brilliant move from David

:01:08.:01:18.

Anderson. He is 36 but still a sensational player. There is Rudy

:01:19.:01:29.

Fernandez with a foul on Ingles, bending over backwards trying not to

:01:30.:01:36.

fall. That was brilliant stuff to make Ingles move and get the contact

:01:37.:01:48.

of him. Rudy Fernandez goes to the line for two.

:01:49.:02:03.

Spain lead by seven with two minutes to play in the 1st quarter. Reyes

:02:04.:02:18.

gives a bump in return. Now they have the mismatch. Put it out to

:02:19.:02:24.

Ingles for two. At least that was better from Australia. They found

:02:25.:02:28.

the open shot. We shot didn't go down, but at least that was better.

:02:29.:02:33.

Spain loses the rebound. Ingles picks it up. Broekhoff goes to the

:02:34.:02:48.

hoop. Bring wanted to -- Gasol had stepped out.

:02:49.:03:04.

The foul was: Anderson for pushing Reyes from behind. Spain will come

:03:05.:03:11.

right back down to the other side and will shoot the foul. Hernangomez

:03:12.:03:22.

comes into the game. Ingles... They're trying to figure out what

:03:23.:03:28.

was given there. Australia got the basket, but the foul was called

:03:29.:03:33.

after the basket. I see now. Then the penalty fell situation, that is

:03:34.:03:37.

to macro shots on the line. It's very confusing. -- penalty foul

:03:38.:03:43.

situation. -- that is two shots on the line. Even when Australia get

:03:44.:03:54.

the basket, they get the penalty. Ingles in the corner. Fernandez has

:03:55.:04:05.

got a hand on it, and there is a foul inside. Hernangomez put his

:04:06.:04:15.

hand up, but it is an Reyes. I think Hernangomez was taking one for the

:04:16.:04:22.

team, as it were, protecting Reyes. It's encouraging that Australia are

:04:23.:04:25.

now moving Spain around offensively and finding more options in passing

:04:26.:04:30.

game. Claver has come into the game for Spain for Gasol. Gasol gets his

:04:31.:04:36.

first break with a minute and a half to go. You see this a lot with

:04:37.:04:40.

starting players, they get a break with a minute or a half less. You

:04:41.:04:46.

see Rodriguez again with that left-hander grabbing the jersey as

:04:47.:04:53.

he runs past, dribbling. Offensive foul given.

:04:54.:05:06.

He seemed to be trying to provide the screen. A relatively soft foul.

:05:07.:05:19.

Mills froze it up for Baynes. Baynes couldn't control it. The foul is on

:05:20.:05:28.

Baynes. So interesting, the difference in confidence. Australia

:05:29.:05:31.

were making those of their often in the group stage. Right now, it's

:05:32.:05:36.

just not going their way. That's just unfortunate, coming down.

:05:37.:05:43.

Again, if you fall backwards you have a better chance of drawing

:05:44.:05:47.

that. Baynes, that was his third. He comes out. Sorry, it's only his

:05:48.:05:51.

second but he comes out anyway. Brock Motum will come in for the

:05:52.:05:56.

last minute of the quarter. Felipe Reyes is an excellent foul shooter

:05:57.:06:08.

for a big man. I'm sorry I even said it! The curse is alive and well.

:06:09.:06:15.

Even vote Spain are still in the lead, Australia seem to have learned

:06:16.:06:20.

some lessons from Serbian defeat. -- even though Spain. They're starting

:06:21.:06:23.

to find the rhythm and the way to the basket. If I had a computer, I

:06:24.:06:29.

would check the last time Felipe Reyes Mr two shots in a row. Kevin

:06:30.:06:34.

Lisch is in for Australia. -- Felipe Reyes missed two shots. Lisch comes

:06:35.:06:51.

down. There is contact, but no follow. Mills with the three. If

:06:52.:07:00.

they two. 20-17. Brilliant play by Patty Mills. That gives Australia

:07:01.:07:06.

such a great advantage. They're there from the outside. Australia

:07:07.:07:13.

can work for the last shot with ten seconds on the clock. Mills splits,

:07:14.:07:20.

drives, kicks it back out to know one and the ball goes over to Spain

:07:21.:07:25.

with 4.5 on the clock. I can only been published in that position, but

:07:26.:07:29.

Lisch was moving as Mills drove through. -- I can only think of

:07:30.:07:37.

Lisch in that position. Reyes tries to tip. A kind of sloppy 1st quarter

:07:38.:07:44.

I think overall. Spain settling down and getting the outside shooting

:07:45.:07:47.

that makes all the difference here in the 1st quarter. Spain 23-17

:07:48.:07:53.

Australia. Let's take a look at the statistics on the board and the if

:07:54.:07:58.

that's true. Spain has three three pointers, Australia only one. Spain

:07:59.:08:01.

are shooting better from the floor. Spain, I'm not sure, I was looking

:08:02.:08:30.

to say that Spain had thrown away and therefore -- but Spain keep

:08:31.:08:39.

possession. Hernangomez and Navarro have the mismatch on the smaller

:08:40.:08:43.

man, he goes up over Lisch and it is captained by Reyes. Well read by

:08:44.:08:54.

Reyes. He outjumped everyone. Australia basically have their

:08:55.:08:56.

second unit in, apart from Dellavedova. He sat at a fair bit in

:08:57.:09:02.

the 1st quarter as well, Dellavedova. Keep his head down for

:09:03.:09:08.

the drive, stops for the jump and hits it. 25-19. I think you did as

:09:09.:09:16.

best as he could against Serbia, but he was a key player but didn't

:09:17.:09:22.

really fight for Australia. You saw the referee's only reaction to that

:09:23.:09:26.

was to start counting him for seconds Reyes was done on the

:09:27.:09:30.

ground. The referee was counting three seconds while he lay there in

:09:31.:09:36.

the paint. Missed by Spain. That they push for a Navarro. A very

:09:37.:09:40.

unsubtle one right in front of the umpire. Spain has their second unit

:09:41.:09:45.

out now. It is the second five playing against four of Australia's

:09:46.:09:50.

second five. I don't even understand that. It almost seemed like out of

:09:51.:09:57.

frustration. The first-team foul of the quarter. A penalty situation

:09:58.:10:05.

works quarter by quarter. Now it is Motum who is down in the paint.

:10:06.:10:14.

Anderson gets the jumper, 25-21. Such a good player. Ex-NBA. He plays

:10:15.:10:19.

in the Euroleague. He knows how to play these type of games. One of the

:10:20.:10:30.

-- he won the championship in France last season. Motum steps back for

:10:31.:10:39.

three. Hernangomez why therefore the rebound and laid it back in. This is

:10:40.:10:43.

a promising young player. To come in for Gasol. Anderson, the reason he

:10:44.:10:51.

lost double as he looked in the corner. Rodriguez misses the way up.

:10:52.:10:57.

Dellavedova comes down and Australia have numbers. Broekhoff into the

:10:58.:11:03.

corner to Lisch, but he doesn't take the shot and they will be set now.

:11:04.:11:08.

He runs into Reyes. Anderson for free. Motum with the offensive

:11:09.:11:15.

rebound. Better stuff on the board from Australia. 27-23. That was a

:11:16.:11:25.

good lead, I think Spain did well not to take the shot. Is out. Now

:11:26.:11:33.

they move in. -- Claver is out, now they move in. Rodriguez can race, he

:11:34.:11:39.

is outside. And yet it is three, it is 30-23. The big men are hitting

:11:40.:11:46.

the threes for Spain. I think both teams are getting into gear now,

:11:47.:11:52.

this is really good. A 7-point lead and a 6-point disparity in 3-point

:11:53.:11:55.

baskets. You can draw your own conclusion. Claver is now a

:11:56.:12:05.

crosscourt to Navarro for three. He climbs the back door and goes over

:12:06.:12:15.

to Australia. Merit it looks like he's coming back in. Hernangomez had

:12:16.:12:20.

a couple of very good minutes. Andrew Bogut is coming in for

:12:21.:12:23.

Australia as both teams make substitutions. The pace is really

:12:24.:12:27.

rushing in this deck and quarter. There has already been three and a

:12:28.:12:31.

half minutes played. -- in this 2nd quarter. Navarro puts Spain up by

:12:32.:12:43.

nine. Australia want a time-out. Spain 32-23 Australia. 6.24 to play

:12:44.:12:52.

in the 2nd quarter. The scoreboard updates slower than my brain does.

:12:53.:12:57.

That is pretty slow right now! Spain have stepped it up. Australia have

:12:58.:13:03.

improved early on but Spain have been consistent and their bench is

:13:04.:13:07.

really strong. Watching that replay, Broekhoff was very lucky. There was

:13:08.:13:12.

a lot of fouls earlier on and it's great that the game has the same

:13:13.:13:18.

momentum. To be honest, I would rather see fouls not given than the

:13:19.:13:32.

soft fouls given. -- van CE -- than see soft fouls given.

:13:33.:13:50.

Just as Australia narrowed the margin to three, Spain come down and

:13:51.:13:59.

raise it back up to nine. The Spanish fans have had great fun. But

:14:00.:14:04.

then group has been in the same seats for every Spanish game! --

:14:05.:14:09.

that same group. They are like the court jesters. That just like them.

:14:10.:14:20.

-- they are dressed like them. Bogut is in for Australia, as is Mills.

:14:21.:14:26.

Mills Mrs B three. Rubio is in for Spain. Mirotic is back in for Spain.

:14:27.:14:32.

Gasol is back in for Spain. Claver and Navarro remain in.

:14:33.:14:43.

Rubio lost double on his drive. Mills picked it up. Mills going to

:14:44.:14:50.

the hoop, and has a foul before he can pass it to Broekhoff who takes

:14:51.:14:55.

the shooting practice. It is so difficult with Rubio. He is such a

:14:56.:14:58.

talent. You've got to do the basics right. He tries to do the

:14:59.:15:03.

spectacular. If you're losing on a simple dribble like that and you get

:15:04.:15:06.

the ball stolen from you, it's just not going to work at the top level.

:15:07.:15:11.

It wasn't really a steal, he just lost the ball and Mills picked it

:15:12.:15:19.

up. Ingles is back in for Australia. Broekhoff hits victory. 32-26.

:15:20.:15:37.

That was a past two Patty Mills. We are at the halfway point of the

:15:38.:15:59.

second quarter. Patty Mills is getting going now. He struggled

:16:00.:16:03.

earlier and against Serbia, but he is back to his best. And Gasol hits

:16:04.:16:10.

the three. If you're going to get the big men, there are going to kill

:16:11.:16:21.

you. A ten point lead for Spain. He knows when he can he hits it into

:16:22.:16:30.

Aron Baynes. They have to stop the shooting from

:16:31.:16:40.

the outside. The story of this half is turnovers

:16:41.:16:59.

and threes. It is like a wrestling match. Gasol drops it in. Aron

:17:00.:17:10.

Baynes pulled out to cover Nikola Mirotic.

:17:11.:17:33.

Two seconds on the shot clock, with a foul. That was on Nikola Mirotic.

:17:34.:17:45.

That was great stuff, just beating Aron Baynes.

:17:46.:17:52.

Patty Mills tried to give a foul at the not get it, he wanted to slow

:17:53.:18:09.

them down. 3.5 to play. The Americans talk about how the

:18:10.:18:23.

United States NBA players are not used to playing this kind of

:18:24.:18:26.

basketball, it is a different kind, and the Australians are in the same

:18:27.:18:31.

position. They have the most NBA players outside the United States. I

:18:32.:18:34.

wonder if they are not used to playing in this type of game because

:18:35.:18:38.

the Spanish Serbians have a problem that they have not been able to

:18:39.:18:45.

solve. Nikola Mirotic picked up his fourth foul. But he stays in. It is

:18:46.:18:51.

Navarro that goes to the bench. He Nikola Mirotic picked up only his

:18:52.:19:07.

second, excuse me. But it is the 15th foul for Spain.

:19:08.:19:21.

So much hope for Australia going into this, and when they got through

:19:22.:19:27.

to the group stage there was belief that they could go through to the

:19:28.:19:33.

final, but although Australian basketball has improved

:19:34.:19:39.

dramatically, they are not maybe at that level of Spain yet, who have

:19:40.:19:43.

been the real contenders to the United States for the gold medal.

:19:44.:19:52.

Three minutes to play. Gasol was simply walking backwards, and loses

:19:53.:19:59.

it when Joe Ingles came. The rebound was cleared by Nikola

:20:00.:20:18.

Mirotic. Everything leading up to that shot was everything we have

:20:19.:20:23.

seen from Australia in these games. Joe Ingles tried to take that away,

:20:24.:20:25.

he will get the foul. Nikola Mirotic diving out, you get

:20:26.:20:44.

the attention that way. He hit him with the offhand. Not enough to

:20:45.:20:55.

cause the player to follow her. The shooting has been superb from Spain.

:20:56.:21:07.

The rebound for Felipe Reyes, for Spain. They have let some

:21:08.:21:19.

opportunities call. Victor Clark there was open, and he misses this

:21:20.:21:25.

one. I do not know what Gasol is complaining about, he was the one

:21:26.:21:27.

over Joe Ingles's back. 33-40! That is one of the stranger

:21:28.:21:49.

sequences we have seen. In the end, good assistance from Australia.

:21:50.:22:10.

Just looking down quickly, there are four Australians who have played in

:22:11.:22:19.

Spain. At various times. Including Joe Ingles, who had four years in

:22:20.:22:33.

Barcelona. Some of the players did not get the International -- NBA

:22:34.:22:38.

experience, which may be affecting them. It should not be an excuse.

:22:39.:22:44.

Australia is starting to get back into it. You would argue that there

:22:45.:22:54.

has not been any consistency in the Australian game in the first half.

:22:55.:23:10.

Gasol and marrow titch -- Nikola Mirotic with the most points between

:23:11.:23:12.

them. Girl-macro isn't that sweet! Isn't

:23:13.:23:33.

-- isn't that sweet! Everyone is enjoying themselves. Andrew Bogut

:23:34.:23:45.

has not dominated as he did in the past. I think Matthew Dellavedova is

:23:46.:23:49.

getting a bit tired. The Australians have not been as

:23:50.:24:06.

effective as they were earlier. Joe Ingles was waiting. Patty Mills will

:24:07.:24:18.

start it again for Australia. David Andersen hit three. The Australian

:24:19.:24:26.

big man gets back. It could well be David Andersen's last game at the

:24:27.:24:32.

Olympics, sold he is putting on a show. And it is a foul for the ball.

:24:33.:24:42.

-- off the ball. Bogut is always in the thick of the action. The whistle

:24:43.:24:51.

had already gone by the time he rugby tackled. The foul is on Bogut,

:24:52.:25:01.

that is his third. Felipe Reyes will move to the line.

:25:02.:25:16.

And think Sergio Llull is clutching his face. There is booing from the

:25:17.:25:26.

Spanish section. That is a pretty good shot. David

:25:27.:25:39.

Andersen was a little lucky. I do not think that was unintentional at

:25:40.:25:45.

all. You can see why the Spanish crowd are booing. You're not allowed

:25:46.:25:53.

to swing your elbows at other players. You can see the frustration

:25:54.:26:00.

creeping in for David Andersen. Australia are back within four

:26:01.:26:01.

points. David Andersen misses the three. The

:26:02.:26:41.

foul was called late. I think David Andersen will go to the line. He was

:26:42.:26:47.

knocked over after the shot. He may have hurt his elbowing elbow! That

:26:48.:26:56.

was the same one he used earlier! There is body contact. You can see

:26:57.:27:04.

Gasol's reaction. There was contact, which is the point. If you contact

:27:05.:27:12.

wild they are in the air, that will be a foul most times.

:27:13.:27:19.

Spain were cruising there, but David Andersen is having a good game, 12

:27:20.:27:27.

points now for him. He could reduce this deficit to one. You should not

:27:28.:27:34.

have said that. This commentary position has a certain power over

:27:35.:27:40.

foul shooting! We get contradicted any time we dear. It is a 2-point

:27:41.:27:52.

game. Three seconds to go. Spain taking time out. What a comeback

:27:53.:28:01.

from Australia. They are shooting Spain 21-17 in this second quarter.

:28:02.:28:06.

It has not been consistently great, but they are getting into a rhythm.

:28:07.:28:11.

At the risk of doing my half-time wrap-up, I would say Spain have to

:28:12.:28:15.

be frustrated. They outplayed them, but only have a 2-point lead at the

:28:16.:28:21.

moment. Australia have to be satisfied. They did not come out

:28:22.:28:25.

playing well, but they are still in the game.

:28:26.:28:33.

Get into it, wrestle him, get under his likes, whatever!

:28:34.:28:41.

LAUGHTER There is nothing much we can add to that!

:28:42.:28:47.

They are very casual people, they do not mind speaking their mind! This

:28:48.:28:52.

could be the last Olympic Games match for Gasol as well. David

:28:53.:29:02.

Andersen with the three. He missed the second three. Look at the

:29:03.:29:05.

contact. People do not realise how much of a contact sport Basketball

:29:06.:29:13.

Arena is. Gasol has a massive scratch on his back. In the men and

:29:14.:29:16.

women it has really physical. Aggressive basketball.

:29:17.:29:28.

That is how the first half will end. I just summarised it, Australia

:29:29.:29:35.

outplayed for most of the first half, and I think they would admit

:29:36.:29:40.

it. They are only two points behind Spain, who are frustrated that they

:29:41.:29:43.

do not have a big advantage on what was for most part I did half.

:29:44.:29:49.

Australia will be pleased going into the locker room because they have

:29:50.:29:52.

come back well, kept up the fight, and they have a real shot. Let us

:29:53.:29:55.

take another look. The shooting has balanced out a

:29:56.:30:05.

little bit. Spain has a two point lead. Australia have grabbed more

:30:06.:30:11.

rebound, partly because they missed so many shots early. At the half,

:30:12.:30:17.

the Kangaroo has punched its way back into the game. It is Spain

:30:18.:30:26.

40-38 Australia. STUDIO: world and to Spain. -- well

:30:27.:30:36.

done to Spain. Australia are still in with a big shout. We are at the

:30:37.:30:40.

Olympic Park. It is positively brightening up. Just behind me is

:30:41.:30:46.

the lake. Around me people are now beginning to flood the Olympic Park.

:30:47.:30:50.

It is quite a nice scene as we build up to the last day of sporting

:30:51.:30:55.

events. Basketball made its Olympic debut back in 1904. This year, golf

:30:56.:31:01.

returned after a century's absence. And Rugby sevens made its Olympic

:31:02.:31:05.

debut. In four years' time, another sport will be appearing for the

:31:06.:31:10.

first time. It's not one of Britain is particularly associated with, but

:31:11.:31:13.

here in Brazil they love their surfing.

:31:14.:31:20.

On a weekday morning around 8am, I would usually be on a train, nose

:31:21.:31:26.

buried in a newspaper trying to avoid eye contact. But if I was

:31:27.:31:29.

Brazilian, I would be here! Do you surf every day? Every day.

:31:30.:31:44.

Surfing is my life. Every morning I take my board and come to surf. It

:31:45.:31:49.

is very good. This place is very beautiful, too.

:31:50.:32:00.

How much do cariocas love to surf? All the people love to surf. Old,

:32:01.:32:06.

young, everybody. When you're on your surfboard and

:32:07.:32:09.

you're on the wave and it's pushing you along, how do you feel? For me,

:32:10.:32:14.

it's the best sensation in the world. Because you are free, you're

:32:15.:32:24.

thinking nothing, just to have fun. Every time somebody says I would

:32:25.:32:28.

love to know how to surf I say, just go and do it because it's awesome.

:32:29.:32:35.

When you ride a good wave, man, you just put a smile on your own face.

:32:36.:32:42.

Do you think it's a sport? Yes, I've thought this for a long time.

:32:43.:32:50.

Surfing belongs in the Olympics. I think it is something awesome for

:32:51.:32:58.

the sport. We expanding. -- where expanding the border of the sport.

:32:59.:33:12.

We are not doing it in a very good way today. He thinks that surfing in

:33:13.:33:20.

the Olympics is going to catch everybody's attention. How do you

:33:21.:33:26.

think Brazil will do in the Olympics in four years' time?

:33:27.:33:34.

I think Brazil will be one of the better.

:33:35.:33:42.

I'd love to be able to serve, but unfortunately I can't. But it does

:33:43.:33:49.

look gorgeous. Here in Brazil it's not just all about sand, sea and

:33:50.:33:53.

surfing. There are rather more troubled areas. Darren Campbell has

:33:54.:33:55.

been to visit one of the favelas. Today I've come to a safe area in

:33:56.:34:20.

the favela. Welcome. This is 11 different communities. The kids that

:34:21.:34:23.

we work with are facing issues of poverty, family breakdown. They're

:34:24.:34:28.

really on job opportunities for their families. It is a very poor

:34:29.:34:32.

part of town and also one of the most dangerous parts of town. This

:34:33.:34:37.

is an area that is classified which means there are police here. They

:34:38.:34:39.

fight with the local drug traffickers. Because you are on the

:34:40.:34:50.

hill, you can hear the gunfire. There can be automatic gunfire and

:34:51.:34:56.

the kids just continue to play. We needed a place where the police and

:34:57.:35:01.

traffickers agreed not to fight, so we created a safe space for kids to

:35:02.:35:02.

come and play football. This is one of our coaches at the

:35:03.:35:19.

Safe Space programme. Have you seen a change in the people who come

:35:20.:35:24.

here? They're not on the street, fighting. The reality is that these

:35:25.:35:29.

are the brothers and sisters of the traffickers. The traffickers grow up

:35:30.:35:32.

in the community. Working with them is important so that they are not

:35:33.:35:36.

trafficking drugs or picking up a gun. Today we have a very special

:35:37.:35:39.

guest. His name is Darren Campbell. People told me that kids like me do

:35:40.:35:54.

not win Olympic gold medals. For me to win the gold medal, it just... It

:35:55.:35:58.

proved a lot of people wrong. That's why I believe in these guys.

:35:59.:36:09.

Why do you enjoy coming here, Eric? I like to come here because it's a

:36:10.:36:16.

really nice place to play. If anything happens it is near my

:36:17.:36:20.

house. I can just go home really quickly.

:36:21.:36:31.

Do you feel safe when you hear? Yes. How do these guys feel about the

:36:32.:36:35.

Olympics being just that? I don't really like the Olympics very much

:36:36.:36:39.

because in Brazil we are in the middle of a crisis. But I do like to

:36:40.:36:43.

support the athletes because it is their dream. I think the Gulf and

:36:44.:36:47.

judo with happy. Not just because she won the medal for Brazil but

:36:48.:36:51.

because she showed that someone from the favela can please Brazil. -- the

:36:52.:36:58.

girl who won the judo. We are about setting these kids on their right

:36:59.:37:02.

path. The Olympics is fantastic for that, it gives them a goal and a

:37:03.:37:08.

dream. Sport really does have the power to change lives. You can see

:37:09.:37:12.

how this safe area really does give these kids the opportunity to feel a

:37:13.:37:16.

part of something, respect something, but the values that sport

:37:17.:37:20.

gives. For me, that is what Olympic legacy should be about.

:37:21.:37:25.

Never underestimate the power of sport to insert via. Hopefully some

:37:26.:37:30.

of those young children will be inspired by what they've seen at the

:37:31.:37:34.

Rio Olympics. A reminder of what is happening on BBC One. The final

:37:35.:37:38.

discipline in the sport of cycling, the men's mountain biking is

:37:39.:37:43.

currently taking place at the moment. Rapid descent, steep climbs.

:37:44.:37:51.

An adrenaline rush to say the least. But we are heading back to the

:37:52.:37:55.

basketball for the bronze medal match. Australia and Spain are

:37:56.:37:59.

currently locked in battle at the moment. Spain, silver medallist last

:38:00.:38:06.

time in London, currently leading 40-38 as we rejoin the action in the

:38:07.:38:18.

3rd quarter. COMMENTATOR: Dellavedova is back on

:38:19.:38:24.

for the Australians. A typical starting five, the all NBA team.

:38:25.:38:31.

Mirotic has just stepped out there. The Australian coach had a problem

:38:32.:38:47.

to solve against Serbia, now he has got it a game against Spain. But

:38:48.:38:51.

they seem to be working their way out. The passing game has not been

:38:52.:38:54.

quite as effective as it was in the group stages of the early matches

:38:55.:38:59.

for the Australians. But some of the shooting from David Anderson is now

:39:00.:39:07.

starting to work. Gasol getting the first points of the 3rd quarter to

:39:08.:39:16.

extend Spain's lead. 15.4 Pau Gasol. That could be his last match in the

:39:17.:39:24.

Olympic Games. -- 15 points for Pau Gasol. Mills for three, and gets it

:39:25.:39:33.

to go down. Australia are now up by one point. Patty Mills has really

:39:34.:39:34.

stepped it up. Gasol missing. That's a turnover for

:39:35.:39:59.

Spain. That is a turnover at both ends! Ingles up top.

:40:00.:40:16.

Dellavedova with the runner. It is and Australia are in the lead,

:40:17.:40:24.

43-42. Almost two minutes gone in the 1st quarter. What a turnaround

:40:25.:40:34.

for Australia. They were behind in the first half. It is going

:40:35.:40:39.

Australia's we now. Gasol lost that one. It came to Rubio. That'll be a

:40:40.:40:46.

foul on Bogut. What a break for Spain. That is what Ricky Rubio is

:40:47.:40:53.

capable of. That was a very difficult attempts to make. As the

:40:54.:41:07.

colder on, who has been for much -- has been reduced from much of this

:41:08.:41:11.

match to the lead cheerleader on the bench. -- Calderon has been reduced.

:41:12.:41:17.

What a blow for Australia, Bogart has been fouled. Danes 's house to

:41:18.:41:23.

play more and Anderson who is better outside than inside has really got

:41:24.:41:29.

to step up the game. -- Baynes, who hast to play more.

:41:30.:41:44.

Ricky Rubio trying to get through Baynes. We saw that arms locked.

:41:45.:41:51.

They both turned around to the officials for a foul. There is a

:41:52.:42:00.

great pass. Tied at 45. Good timing for mills to avoid the outstretched

:42:01.:42:05.

Gasol. 15 points now for Patty Mills, having good game.

:42:06.:42:14.

Gasol slams it in, 47-45 for Spain. Baynes is now inside. He covers for

:42:15.:42:28.

Australia, that is what they need. James misses with the left-handed

:42:29.:42:33.

hook. Mirotic took the rebound to Rubio. Mills takes the baseline,

:42:34.:42:41.

kick it out. Anderson with the rebound. We haven't seen Rubio do

:42:42.:42:47.

enough but at the Olympic Games. That really adds something to the

:42:48.:42:55.

Spanish offence. He swung around Llull. Ingles had to put that it

:42:56.:43:00.

went desperately close angle. That is using the board. I think he

:43:01.:43:04.

touched every part of it before it went in. Anderson wants the court

:43:05.:43:22.

white. -- wiped. Watch this, Ingles got himself weigh in. He still had a

:43:23.:43:26.

left-hander outside the rim and was able to put it out off the top of

:43:27.:43:33.

the glass. He gets the dead fall. Great fingers for Ingles. Two

:43:34.:43:39.

spectacular layouts, Rubio at one end, Ingles at the other. Tied at

:43:40.:43:45.

47. 6.5 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. Baynes lying on the ground

:43:46.:43:53.

as he went up with Gasol. Gasol just was higher. Gasol has done it all.

:43:54.:44:00.

He has won it all, but he still wants this bronze medal. Look how

:44:01.:44:05.

fired up he was. He was so excited. Look at slam dunk. Mills hits 49.

:44:06.:44:12.

You are here to win, that is why you keep score. Absolutely, Patty Mills

:44:13.:44:21.

did a great job. Ingles with the rebound. Baynes misses the lay-up.

:44:22.:44:33.

Now there will be a technical and Baynes. We saw a game when there was

:44:34.:44:39.

about five technicals for six or something. Many of them were for the

:44:40.:44:47.

referee. You know the rules, that's the way it goes. You can't let your

:44:48.:44:51.

frustration get the better of you. There is the second to Paul Gasol.

:44:52.:45:01.

Yelling as it hits in. You don't put the ball over the BAFTA,

:45:02.:45:04.

necessarily. You put it where the player can get a bit, and that's

:45:05.:45:07.

exactly what he did. -- over the basket. Those two can combine so

:45:08.:45:13.

well. Spain have had enough of that, did Billy against the United States.

:45:14.:45:19.

-- particularly against the United States.

:45:20.:45:38.

Rudy Fernandez lays it on. Joe Ingles comes up for Australia.

:45:39.:45:55.

Patty Mills gets the foul. Tied at 51. Patty Mills will go to the free

:45:56.:46:03.

throw line. He has had a pretty good Olympic Games. It was tough for him

:46:04.:46:07.

against Serbia, but he has bounced back superbly. Brilliant stuff.

:46:08.:46:17.

And before Rudy Fernandez came off the ground, he was already looking

:46:18.:46:31.

to the referee. Brock Motum is being recalled for the foul.

:46:32.:46:40.

Unsportsmanlike foul. He and Gasol had their arms wrapped up. Just a

:46:41.:46:50.

foul. No, they gave a technical foul, you are absolutely right. And

:46:51.:46:54.

Gasol Mrs. They have had two and missed them both. It is

:46:55.:47:01.

unsportsmanlike, that is why it is two shots at the line. That is a

:47:02.:47:06.

difficult one. But he made the third. Australia were in the lead

:47:07.:47:12.

less than a second. That was called as soon as they got the shot. Given

:47:13.:47:18.

how often players have interlinked arms, it is difficult to tell who is

:47:19.:47:25.

doing what. Giving an unsportsmanlike in a situation like

:47:26.:47:26.

that is a tough call. Brock Motum Mrs. A great pass by him

:47:27.:47:43.

before. Brock Motum blocked it twice. Then

:47:44.:48:03.

it was tipped in. What brilliant defence.

:48:04.:48:08.

Brock Motum again. Tied again. Brock Motum is deputising brilliantly. A

:48:09.:48:22.

couple of block shots. Australia are right in this. It looked such for

:48:23.:48:25.

this early, but they are now matching Spain.

:48:26.:48:36.

This is top stuff from both teams. What basketball being played at both

:48:37.:48:43.

ends of the court. Rudy Fernandez with the triple. A foul might have

:48:44.:48:50.

been called again. It is another technical. This may be a make up.

:48:51.:48:59.

Rudy Fernandez with the shot. He is claiming he got contact. If that was

:49:00.:49:09.

the technical for complaining... They have got the same. They are

:49:10.:49:13.

applying it as they saw it. That is how it went. Part of the logic is...

:49:14.:49:22.

Look at them lining up! You can sort of complaint quickly at the referee

:49:23.:49:27.

at the time, but if you make a point of it, that is why you get the

:49:28.:49:33.

technical foul, you're calling attention to it. Patty Mills puts it

:49:34.:49:40.

in the net. We're tied again. 23 points for Patty Mills. What a game.

:49:41.:49:43.

We're not even into the fourth quarter. Nikola Mirotic for three.

:49:44.:49:59.

He is -- that is his game. Australia down by one.

:50:00.:50:03.

Watch his left arm as he moves past Kevin Lisch. He doesn't move past,

:50:04.:50:12.

so we didn't see it. Tipped away by Brock Motum. Was that

:50:13.:50:31.

a pass? It I think you lobbed it. -- he lobbed it. David Andersen missed.

:50:32.:50:47.

Sergio Llull. Spain lead by three, with two minutes 22 play.

:50:48.:50:58.

This is sensational. Great stuff. Joe Ingles misses the three. He goes

:50:59.:51:11.

down, the foul will be on David Andersen. What a contest, intense,

:51:12.:51:21.

quick, great shooting and offending, passing is fantastic. These are two

:51:22.:51:27.

really great sides. 15th foul for Australia. I think Gasol will go to

:51:28.:51:33.

the line. Once again it is the locked arms that bring the foul.

:51:34.:51:43.

Great stuff from Sergio Llull. That is the Michael Jordan pulls in the

:51:44.:51:49.

still photographs. -- pose. Brock Motum put it in. 1.5 play. He

:51:50.:52:41.

has been fantastic. He has filled the big shoes of Bogut, and has done

:52:42.:52:43.

a good job of it. Sergio Rodrigeuz holding back David

:52:44.:52:53.

Andersen. One minute to play. They are passing up threes. Sergio

:52:54.:53:20.

Rodrigeuz lost the ball, and Brock Motum got it away. Sergio Rodrigeuz

:53:21.:53:28.

missed as well. He was almost fighting with Matthew Dellavedova to

:53:29.:53:39.

get the rebound. Patty Mills was held by Navarro. A frantic

:53:40.:53:44.

third-quarter. Both teams have had the best quarters so far, scoring

:53:45.:53:52.

wise. Gasol still contributing from inside. Patty Mills is having a

:53:53.:53:56.

great game. Brock Motum has done everything they have asked.

:53:57.:54:09.

Australia are down by one. 625-64. Almost enough time for the last

:54:10.:54:11.

shot. Nikola Mirotic laid it in. Patty

:54:12.:54:35.

Mills lost the ball on the dribble. That is how the third quarter ends.

:54:36.:54:43.

Spain are ahead by three. 67-64. STUDIO:

:54:44.:54:50.

COMMENTATOR: that is how it looks. Things have even themselves out. And

:54:51.:54:57.

right now, they lead by three over Australia. Bogut has fouled out of

:54:58.:55:07.

the game for Australia which could be a factor, not least because Gasol

:55:08.:55:14.

already has 25 points and nine rebounds in this game. Gasol inside

:55:15.:55:16.

remains a great option for Spain. This is the last ten minutes of this

:55:17.:55:28.

penultimate game of the Olympic competition. The bronze medal is at

:55:29.:55:29.

stake. Australia have worked hard to get

:55:30.:55:44.

back into the contest after being down early in the first quarter.

:55:45.:55:48.

Data assists have not been as strong, about 13 the moment,

:55:49.:55:54.

compared to 19 from Spain. Their passing game is maybe not as strong,

:55:55.:55:58.

but they are still doing enough to stay in the game, the Australians.

:55:59.:56:03.

There have been some great moments, particularly from Patty Mills. Patty

:56:04.:56:14.

Mills has fouled. He could not get the follow-up shot.

:56:15.:56:21.

Victor Claver picks up his second foul. -- of the quarter, he now has

:56:22.:56:32.

to be. There were a lot of fouls early on, and we see Bogut has

:56:33.:56:36.

already got in trouble. Aron Baynes hits Nikola Mirotic. The

:56:37.:57:15.

referee will blow the whistle to check on him. They collided going

:57:16.:57:23.

for the loose ball. It may have been a clash of their knees. It was not a

:57:24.:57:30.

foul of any type. Hopefully it was a clash of knees, and not worse. Clash

:57:31.:57:36.

hurts for a bit, but a twist would be really worrying. It is a twist.

:57:37.:57:43.

Key pivoted from Aron Baynes's Westlake. The players know when

:57:44.:57:50.

they're in trouble. -- he pivoted. No, it was a clash. Usually that is

:57:51.:57:59.

just a shock, and you can slowly get back to your feet and walk it off.

:58:00.:58:05.

If it is ligament damage it is troublesome. The fact he is getting

:58:06.:58:12.

up might be a good sign for Spain. So important to their chances.

:58:13.:58:18.

At least he is walking. He will join Gasol for the upcoming NBA season.

:58:19.:58:49.

Brock Motum stuff sit through the hoop! Gasol came out for the block,

:58:50.:59:11.

and Brock Motum went past him! That was extraordinary stuff! The whole

:59:12.:59:15.

bench stood up, and then he just goes straight back into defensive.

:59:16.:59:32.

The shot clock expired before Felipe Reyes could get his shot. Two

:59:33.:59:40.

minutes have gone, and we're tied at 70. Spain have called the time-out.

:59:41.:59:47.

Look at this again. Gasol goes up, and Brock Motum goes past. If he had

:59:48.:59:55.

tried to stop to make a jumper, he would not have made it. That has

:59:56.:59:58.

fired up the Australians! Australia, the momentum might be

:59:59.:00:15.

going fairway. -- going fairway. Anderson and Motum are off the bench

:00:16.:00:24.

for Australia. Felipe Reyes -- Rudy Fernandez is the third highest

:00:25.:00:25.

scorer for Spain. Dellavedova to Motum. I think there

:00:26.:00:39.

are only wear because Bogut found out. He has provided extraordinary

:00:40.:00:44.

stuff from the bench. To be honest, there was enough contact from Pau

:00:45.:00:50.

Gasol. Brilliant stuff from Motum. I don't think anyone expected him to

:00:51.:00:54.

have the impact that she has had. Maybe people that know him well. But

:00:55.:00:58.

he has got some blocked shots. He is getting rebounds, going through,

:00:59.:01:02.

taking on Pau Gasol for the slam dunk. What a performance from Brock

:01:03.:01:08.

Motum. Another guy who played at Washington State, he's also played

:01:09.:01:13.

for Bologna, Adelaide in the Australian league. Motum tries to

:01:14.:01:20.

save it. He has played the last season in Lithuania. Top teams. He

:01:21.:01:26.

has a lot of experience at the top level. 70-70, just under eight

:01:27.:01:36.

minutes to play in this game. I block off on Claver from Spain.

:01:37.:01:44.

Dellavedova is calling for a foul. He could quite easily argue that he

:01:45.:01:52.

was pushed by the man setting the screen into the attack. Now there is

:01:53.:01:56.

an attacker as well. Either that is why he was upset. I thought for a

:01:57.:02:00.

second that it might be his fifth personal, it is his third. Navarro

:02:01.:02:05.

stands calmly. He shoots that it is one point up for Spain. What

:02:06.:02:16.

happened was he was being screened and it was Reyes, I think, who

:02:17.:02:20.

simply pushed him. Then he went into the player with the ball and I think

:02:21.:02:24.

that's why he thought it was a harsh call. But better not to say

:02:25.:02:31.

anything. Rodriguez, and it is a 3-point lead a game for Spain. As

:02:32.:02:35.

soon as they come down, they get three every time.

:02:36.:02:43.

Baynes, they leave him alone outside. Ingles wants to drive. Kick

:02:44.:02:57.

it out. Hits for three, we are tied again. 73-73 with three minutes --

:02:58.:03:02.

seven minutes to play. That is exactly the Australian way.

:03:03.:03:08.

Rodriguez drives the baseline. Mirotic is back in. He just walked

:03:09.:03:15.

off that new class. At the pass from Gasol inside. Ingles for Australia.

:03:16.:03:25.

Ingles wants to drive. Back to Baynes. Over two Patty Mills. It's

:03:26.:03:36.

taken away by Mirotic. He comes down and holds off. Rodriguez wants it on

:03:37.:03:43.

the other side. He waits for Pau Gasol to take his position. Uses the

:03:44.:03:53.

left and to hold off Motum. She V3. It misses. Mirotic chimes Broekhoff

:03:54.:03:59.

work tied up. -- shoots the three. That will be a foul on Claver and it

:04:00.:04:04.

is a similar situation. He is tied up with Baynes and as he gets away

:04:05.:04:08.

from Baynes he runs into the man with the ball. But the foul is

:04:09.:04:15.

called. Australia are really finishing strongly. Maybe physically

:04:16.:04:24.

looking stronger at the moment. They're really playing at a high

:04:25.:04:28.

pace was whether there was a mistake from Baynes, they're still good

:04:29.:04:35.

offensively. Anderson has come in. Mirotic a garden. Anderson drives

:04:36.:04:40.

the ball. Broekhoff picked off the ball and it drops through for

:04:41.:04:44.

Australia and now they have the lead! 75-73. The women's team who

:04:45.:04:51.

couldn't get past the quarterfinals are supporting the man for

:04:52.:04:54.

Australia, looking for their first-ever medal in the men's

:04:55.:05:00.

basketball. Gasol, isolated on Baynes. Tries to take the lead. A

:05:01.:05:10.

high arc three. Approaching the halfway point in this 4th quarter.

:05:11.:05:14.

Baynes again comes up to the screen for Mills. Knowles wants it from the

:05:15.:05:20.

foul line. He hits. Australia lead by one, 70 7-76 will stop --

:05:21.:05:32.

Australia lead by one. 77-76. Under five minutes to play in this game.

:05:33.:05:37.

Again Rodriguez has been fantastic. A couple of scores for him. Mills

:05:38.:05:57.

and Rodriguez commence. Rodriguez may be getting a rest now. Both

:05:58.:06:05.

teams are playing at a really high level. It's been a fantastic game of

:06:06.:06:11.

basketball. What a fantastic game Patty Mills has had. Four and a half

:06:12.:06:21.

to play. Spain leading by one. It was tipped out by Baynes, but only

:06:22.:06:26.

as far as Navarra. Rodriguez set things up for Spain now.

:06:27.:06:34.

Navarro, the captain. Mirotic stops for two. It's the rim. Dellavedova

:06:35.:06:44.

had to pry himself loose from Ricky Rubio before he could get the

:06:45.:06:49.

rebound. He hits, Australia lead by one with four minutes to play. I

:06:50.:06:58.

think that is the old Australian women's basketball team uniform in

:06:59.:07:02.

the stands. The tatties and part of the uniform. Navarro, his three goes

:07:03.:07:09.

in and out. Mirotic hit it and Mirotic is fouled by Anderson. He

:07:10.:07:13.

will go to the line. A grandstand finish here. Before you wondered

:07:14.:07:20.

whether Australia can match it after dominating so many of their games.

:07:21.:07:24.

They were really pushed hard by Serbia and were easily defeated in

:07:25.:07:27.

the end. But here they have shown they are a top-level basketball team

:07:28.:07:30.

because they are matching it with Spain. They have taken it all away

:07:31.:07:35.

and they are hunting for the bronze medal. Anderson has been fantastic.

:07:36.:07:43.

The bench contribution has been huge from Australia. Brock Motum, what a

:07:44.:07:49.

performance for him. You can't come in too deep of

:07:50.:07:56.

Fernandez. Aron, lived on that.

:07:57.:08:18.

Pretty basic stuff. No complicated plays, nothing like that. Just "Man

:08:19.:08:28.

up". Look how relaxed they are! I love to see that in coaches. Rudy

:08:29.:08:34.

Fernandez has such great form. It is a shame that Calderon hasn't got on.

:08:35.:08:40.

He has got of fallen out of the rotation and it is a shame. He's

:08:41.:08:46.

such a great player. Spain have put in a great performance but they have

:08:47.:08:49.

been matched by Australia. In this 4th quarter Spain have outshot them

:08:50.:08:53.

15-11 so far. Some fantastic basketball played. Patty Mills has

:08:54.:08:58.

been at the absolute forefront of that. Nicola Mirotic signed with Ray

:08:59.:09:09.

Madrid when he was 14 years old. -- signed with Real Madrid. He is now a

:09:10.:09:20.

Spanish citizen. He had 38 starts for the Bulls last season. Strong

:09:21.:09:27.

statistics. What isn't strong for him right now is he has missed the

:09:28.:09:34.

first. Mirotic ties the game yet again. It is 79-79 with three

:09:35.:09:38.

minutes and 42 seconds to play. Fernandez is on Mills. Mills is

:09:39.:09:59.

reaching and reaching before the foul is drawn of Fernandez. It will

:10:00.:10:04.

be two shots of the line for Patty Mills. The one player you want at

:10:05.:10:07.

the line for Australia in this situation is Patty Mills. Look at

:10:08.:10:12.

how hard he's working. Fernandez, there is the contact. Mills working

:10:13.:10:21.

and working. Anderson saying, you were pushing with the body. He could

:10:22.:10:24.

be him giving the motion that Fernandez did. -- see him. He did

:10:25.:10:35.

it. The reality of the game is that there is so much physical contact.

:10:36.:10:39.

It's a case of trying to keep it under control. Mills makes the

:10:40.:10:45.

second. Australia lead by one with three minutes to play in the game.

:10:46.:10:47.

Rubio leaves it up for Spain. Navarro tries to take Mills. Rubio

:10:48.:11:07.

is open for three. He misses. Baynes with the rebound for Australia. He

:11:08.:11:12.

just hands it to Dellavedova. Under three minutes to play now. Australia

:11:13.:11:16.

lead by one and with possession. Dominating the board. In Glasgow be

:11:17.:11:26.

for the -- Ingles will be called for the offensive foul. Spain will get

:11:27.:11:34.

the ball. He is moving, he's not even set. Before Rubio with that

:11:35.:11:43.

3-point shot, he had enough time to set himself. If he wants to be the

:11:44.:11:46.

top player that we all know he can be, he has two hippos. At this time

:11:47.:11:50.

in the game, Spain will get the ball back. That would make up call for

:11:51.:12:01.

make up call. Australia will get the penalty on the next foul. Rodriguez

:12:02.:12:11.

is back in the game. And Gasol, backing in on Baynes, backing in

:12:12.:12:14.

some more. Shoot the fadeaway and hips. Spain lead by one with two

:12:15.:12:21.

minutes to play. This is brilliant from Pau Gasol. I don't know how you

:12:22.:12:26.

can stop it. This is Pau Gasol's last game as an Olympian. It's a

:12:27.:12:32.

fantastic one. Dellavedova. Baynes with the short jumper. Australia

:12:33.:12:35.

leading by one with two minutes to play. Every basket is met by a

:12:36.:12:45.

massive cheer from both sides. It is a game is no room for error. Mirotic

:12:46.:12:50.

is outside. There is Rodriguez. Gasol finishes it off. Where did he

:12:51.:12:55.

come from? You heard the coach telling him to keep Gasol off the

:12:56.:12:58.

boards. Gasol without the 3-point line. Rodriguez started his drive.

:12:59.:13:05.

Spain lead by one. Dellavedova dishes to Mills. Mills puts it

:13:06.:13:09.

through. Shot right over the big man. 84-83, Australia lead by one.

:13:10.:13:18.

This is so tight. Incredible stuff from both teams. They're going blow

:13:19.:13:22.

for blow. But what mistake might take the advantage or give the

:13:23.:13:26.

advantage to the other team. Rodriguez pulled up for the floater.

:13:27.:13:34.

He hips. Spain win by one. 1.28 on the clock. Dellavedova brings it up

:13:35.:13:38.

for Australia. Slapped away by Rudy Fernandez. I cannot believe he's

:13:39.:13:45.

having to ask who it hit. Rudy Fernandez, of course, starts

:13:46.:13:52.

lobbying. I thought Dellavedova was saying he might have been hit. He

:13:53.:13:59.

won the foul as well. One person you didn't expect to make a mistake was

:14:00.:14:02.

going to be Dellavedova. They're going to look for it. If there's any

:14:03.:14:07.

doubt, you have to know for sure. This is such a crucial now. He stops

:14:08.:14:15.

to tell. You can see, if you look to the left of the screen you can see

:14:16.:14:24.

what they see. He's going to check it once again to make sure. It does

:14:25.:14:30.

look like it is Fernandez's like. That's pretty clear. -- Fernandez's

:14:31.:14:39.

leg. Do you think he will lecture Fernandez on giving an impassioned

:14:40.:14:43.

plea for the ball when the ball rent office leg? Watch, "Didn't hit me!"

:14:44.:14:52.

He put his hand on his face straightaway. I don't know why he

:14:53.:14:57.

thought it was going to go his way. Did you ever see Tom Stoppard play

:14:58.:15:01.

professional ball? There was a whole philosophical discussion on how a

:15:02.:15:05.

player who knows the ball will Ofcom... Mills can't get the ball.

:15:06.:15:12.

Baynes couldn't get the rebound. This is a huge defensive moment for

:15:13.:15:14.

Australia. Spain put it into Gasol's hands.

:15:15.:15:21.

Four on the clock. What a defensive display from

:15:22.:15:45.

Australia, when they needed it most. The pile of bodies that went for the

:15:46.:15:50.

rebound, four players going for it. They knew that they had to get

:15:51.:15:53.

possession or they were up against it. Patty Mills to make an error,

:15:54.:16:03.

after the game he has had. It was not an error, it was a tough shot.

:16:04.:16:10.

That is what it comes down to, if the shot is too difficult, he still

:16:11.:16:16.

has to make it. 41 seconds left, so no matter what Australia do, if they

:16:17.:16:21.

make a basket, Spain will get the ball back with a chance to win.

:16:22.:16:26.

Unless there is a foul. A technical foul would be different.

:16:27.:16:45.

Gasol has 29 points, 11 rebound is, in this game. If this is his last

:16:46.:16:55.

game for Spain, he has put the team on his shoulders. The San Antonio

:16:56.:17:11.

sports coach is delighted with them. He knows how to give him just enough

:17:12.:17:16.

minutes to get the best out of him. He is a perfect fit.

:17:17.:17:26.

Silver medallists wise in a row, to the United States, but will they get

:17:27.:17:35.

a bronze medal? Australia have never had a medal in basketball.

:17:36.:17:51.

David Andersen with the rebound, and he is fouled by Nikola Mirotic.

:17:52.:18:00.

Patty Mills needs to put that away. But luckily, David Andersen got to

:18:01.:18:03.

the offensive rebound and collected the foul. 16th file for Spain. To be

:18:04.:18:14.

honest the foul should be on Gasol. There was contact with Nikola

:18:15.:18:22.

Mirotic. But Gasol thought he was being called for the fable, and

:18:23.:18:31.

didn't like it. -- for the foul. David Andersen at the line.

:18:32.:18:41.

Excruciating for the Australians, it took and eternity.

:18:42.:18:56.

Australia ahead by one. 35 seconds remaining. Another time-out taken.

:18:57.:19:06.

Spain might want to take it quickly so they get another chance. It is a

:19:07.:19:13.

tough one. If they are going to take it quickly, it needs to be a good

:19:14.:19:20.

shot. Exactly. You have the outside shooters to take advantage of that.

:19:21.:19:28.

The thing you prefer is getting the lead. You can only deal with what

:19:29.:19:36.

you get. You cannot try to be too clever.

:19:37.:19:43.

You would rather be in the lead and have them have to make a shot to tie

:19:44.:19:52.

or a win, than not. If you need to get the ball back you are in

:19:53.:19:56.

trouble. Sergio Rodrigeuz is the master of pulling the shirt. He has

:19:57.:20:01.

not been called for it in this game. Patty Mills makes the shot. It has

:20:02.:20:07.

been a spectacular play for him. He has been marvellous for the

:20:08.:20:11.

Australians. Gasol has had a fantastic game for the Spanish. It

:20:12.:20:19.

is going to go down to the wire. Both teams deserved a medal. Like

:20:20.:20:25.

boxing. And this has been a boxing match for sure. If you think

:20:26.:20:28.

basketball is a game played only by Giants, Patty Mills is the shortest

:20:29.:20:32.

man, just under six feet. Sergio Llull is back in the game, at

:20:33.:20:57.

the top. That is a foul on Aron Baynes. Australia had won to give.

:20:58.:21:12.

That was the fifth for the team. It flip-flops the dynamic we spoke

:21:13.:21:17.

about on the last foul shot. With 28, Australia could work for almost

:21:18.:21:26.

the last shot. UC David Andersen's I has been patched up. -- you can see

:21:27.:21:31.

that he has been patched up above his eye.

:21:32.:21:49.

Gasol switches on both. Spain lead by one. Bidders for second

:21:50.:21:58.

difference between the game clock and the shot clock.

:21:59.:22:11.

Aron Baynes gets the role. Nine seconds left. Australia one ahead.

:22:12.:22:20.

The bench cannot contain themselves. They are ten seconds away from their

:22:21.:22:23.

first-ever medal of the men's basketball. But Spain will be coming

:22:24.:22:27.

at them. Aron Baynes, the pressure is enormous. It is his basket. Joe

:22:28.:22:33.

Ingles was there. Watch Victor Claver's hand as he

:22:34.:22:48.

pulls it trying to help the ball. It is like pinball, and moving the

:22:49.:23:03.

table. Spain have ten seconds, again inbound half-court. Australia have a

:23:04.:23:11.

time-out. They may have a second or two, depending on what Spain do.

:23:12.:23:16.

This is where you have got to not give the fable. That is the hard

:23:17.:23:26.

thing. -- the foul. You want to front Gasol, but you want to stop

:23:27.:23:32.

the past to him. You do not want to give the foul. That is very tough in

:23:33.:23:42.

these situations. I think the ball will go to Gasol. If it goes to him,

:23:43.:23:46.

he will kick it out, that is my guess.

:23:47.:23:50.

Patty Mills is called for it after the basket does not go through. It

:23:51.:24:07.

was a late blow of the whistle, for sure. David Andersen looked at the

:24:08.:24:11.

ball and then blew the whistle. Watch again. It is hard. Patty Mills

:24:12.:24:21.

is moving so perhaps they felt he did not set himself. Australia

:24:22.:24:25.

cannot believe it. This is so hard. It is tough on them. It is down to

:24:26.:24:29.

the free throws no. Sergio Rodrigeuz will put Spain up

:24:30.:24:38.

by one if he makes the shot. Australia take their time-out with

:24:39.:24:55.

5.5 seconds left in the game. 89-88 to Spain. I don't have statistics on

:24:56.:25:03.

how many changes there have been, but it has been nip and tuck the

:25:04.:25:10.

hallway. If you get into this situation and want a medal, it is

:25:11.:25:14.

time to step up. Patty Mills will be a candidate to step up here.

:25:15.:25:21.

Port-of-Spain foul, Australia have the chance to take the lead. -- but

:25:22.:25:25.

if Spain foul. He steps backwards. Yes, I think

:25:26.:26:02.

that is what the referee saw. Sergio Rodrigeuz was heading to the ground

:26:03.:26:06.

after he releases -- as he releases the shot. That was very lucky for

:26:07.:26:09.

Spain to get that. That did not miss by much, but Spain

:26:10.:26:30.

have won the Olympic bronze medal by one point. 89-88, and it was won by

:26:31.:26:39.

Sergio Rodrigeuz at the foul line, but the game was kept alive by Pau

:26:40.:26:46.

Gasol. STUDIO: congratulations to Spain,

:26:47.:26:50.

they have won the bronze medal. Heartbreak for Australia, searching

:26:51.:26:54.

for their first Olympic medal in basketball. They have been denied by

:26:55.:26:58.

one point. The look on their faces paints a picture and a thousand

:26:59.:27:02.

words. Unlucky for them but Spain follow-up the two silver medals with

:27:03.:27:06.

a June Joyce takes on Franz's Yoka. It

:27:07.:28:01.

could be a good contest. We look forward to that. Now, time for the

:28:02.:28:08.

final discipline in cycling, the cross-country in the men's mountain

:28:09.:28:12.

bike, and as we join it there at about the halfway stage. Grant

:28:13.:28:15.

Ferguson is the only British man competing, but the thought the

:28:16.:28:24.

French rider would be one to watch. The Olympic champion and Londoners

:28:25.:28:29.

ahead, with the five-time world champion from Switzerland. They seem

:28:30.:28:33.

to be dominating from each. We will join the commentators.

:28:34.:29:15.

Different lines here. A very steep section. This does not do it

:29:16.:29:22.

justice. You have to bend your neck really high to see to the top of it.

:29:23.:29:27.

This is an intense climb, and it will set the energy

:29:28.:29:34.

Coloma looks quite good. You went through a rough section where he

:29:35.:29:45.

lost contact with the two leaders. He looks like he is into a rhythm

:29:46.:29:50.

now. These two have a higher speed through all of these sections. Just

:29:51.:29:53.

extending their lead slowly but surely. A really steep drop off

:29:54.:30:03.

there. Again, for these Riders that is something they will do day in,

:30:04.:30:09.

day out. But at the sixth or seventh lap of an Olympic race it can be a

:30:10.:30:18.

downfall. Beautiful and smooth through this rocky, slippery

:30:19.:30:32.

section. The big shake-up of the day is Marotte not being here. Absalon

:30:33.:30:48.

just losing. Not a good day for Peter Sagan have to be puncture. I'm

:30:49.:30:54.

not sure if it was this or another puncture for Peter Sagan. A

:30:55.:30:58.

desperate day for the Slovakian who decided to take on this course. Once

:30:59.:31:05.

he came up in Rio to ride the road race course in January and realise

:31:06.:31:08.

that it would be for him in terms of his ambitions to win a gold medal

:31:09.:31:11.

here. He said to his federation, what are the options of getting a

:31:12.:31:16.

mountain bike slot? You raced a couple of races in April. He crashed

:31:17.:31:20.

in one and finished in fourth place in the Czech Republic. He went on to

:31:21.:31:26.

perform brilliantly, as ever, in the Tour de France. He went to the

:31:27.:31:32.

states to prepare there. Unfortunately, his race has come

:31:33.:31:35.

apart because of that puncture. Here are your two leaders. From the Czech

:31:36.:31:43.

Republic we have the reigning 2012 London Olympic gold medallist, and

:31:44.:31:52.

behind him Schurter from Switzerland who is the World Championship. First

:31:53.:31:56.

and second in London, but an second at the 2016 World Championships,

:31:57.:32:01.

these two. Just behind them we are seeing the French man, Schurter, he

:32:02.:32:08.

has had a fantastic ride. Now they are racing in bronze medal

:32:09.:32:16.

contention, these two. Schurter was left out of medal contention in

:32:17.:32:20.

London. He is back four years later and now in bronze medal contention.

:32:21.:32:26.

He will be hoping for a good second half of the race here. That will be

:32:27.:32:29.

brilliant for the French. As we said, they have and have the best

:32:30.:32:34.

Olympic Games on two wheels in the cycling discipline. This is their

:32:35.:32:40.

big chance. Absolutely. And really desperate for Julian Sagan as well

:32:41.:32:46.

as he tries to put himself back into the picture here. It is not looking

:32:47.:32:52.

any better, that picture, for Julian Absalon. Kulhavy and Schurter are

:32:53.:33:02.

the two men he would least want to be on the front. If they can keep

:33:03.:33:06.

this race going the way they are then they are unlikely to see

:33:07.:33:18.

Absalon. Colombian Botero is currently in sixth place. This is

:33:19.:33:22.

the lead. Kulhavy breathing deeply. We just saw Kulhavy put his hand on

:33:23.:33:28.

his stomach and pull a face. Does that mean he is having stomach

:33:29.:33:36.

problems? Absalon is at the bottom of the climb to like mountain. He

:33:37.:33:47.

will fight for all his work here, Schurter one. There is no -- he will

:33:48.:33:57.

fight for his work, Absalon. There is no doubt about that. He will not

:33:58.:34:03.

retire after the games. As we said, he was losing time at each time

:34:04.:34:10.

check. He will hold nothing back, there is no question. Where does

:34:11.:34:14.

this leave us? We just come back through the time we met. Kulhavy and

:34:15.:34:27.

Schurter looking more and more likely that they will fight it out

:34:28.:34:31.

for the gold medal. Chasing them is the Frenchman and the Spaniard.

:34:32.:34:39.

Schurter has had this final big gold. He is still leading the World

:34:40.:34:46.

Cup standings at the moment. Only just ahead of Schurter. They have

:34:47.:34:50.

been involved in a tussle all year long at every round of the World Cup

:34:51.:34:59.

so far. When they go to Andorra for the final, in fact, in two weeks'

:35:00.:35:05.

time, it will be the final showdown between those two. This is the

:35:06.:35:15.

showdown for gold medal. We just saw a showdown for the bronze medal at

:35:16.:35:27.

the moment. The Spaniard Coloma is looking good. We saw some

:35:28.:35:38.

expressions on the face that Marotte is having trouble staying with the

:35:39.:35:47.

Spaniard. Sad news, James Reid of South Africa, the South African

:35:48.:35:50.

champion, desperate times for young James Reid. He is carrying the scars

:35:51.:35:55.

of perhaps they fall. The 24-year-old will be absolutely

:35:56.:36:00.

devastated. He was focused so intently on getting to Rio. Very

:36:01.:36:04.

sad, indeed. South Africa have another young rider in this field,

:36:05.:36:10.

but James Reid is out of the field sadly. Meanwhile, it is Kulhavy and

:36:11.:36:16.

Schurter. We talk about when will Schurter go? Maybe it is Kulhavy who

:36:17.:36:20.

says he will start dictating terms in this case and see how he deals

:36:21.:36:26.

with it. There is nothing to choose between the two. We haven't seen any

:36:27.:36:33.

weakness in showing by either one of these. Both have been very composed.

:36:34.:36:40.

Both have been placed -- neither has been placed under extreme pressure

:36:41.:36:43.

by one or the other, they are looking very relaxed. Kulhavy and --

:36:44.:37:02.

Coloma and Morotte. We are about 35 seconds back on this group, the lead

:37:03.:37:06.

group of two riders, Kulhavy and Schurter. They have done pretty much

:37:07.:37:10.

everything there is to win in the sport between them. There is gold,

:37:11.:37:15.

silver and bronze. The significance is that the man on the front,

:37:16.:37:21.

Kulhavy, one that gold medal at London. Schurter wants to complete

:37:22.:37:25.

the set. He has got a bronze and a silver. He looks over his shoulder.

:37:26.:37:30.

Still looking to see what the gap is behind him. As we said, they have no

:37:31.:37:36.

radio communication. They need to pick those points on the course. The

:37:37.:37:40.

course designer does have to take that into consideration when he

:37:41.:37:45.

builds the course. He has got a whole set of regulations. One thing

:37:46.:37:47.

that is great about mountain biking is they do have a regulation that

:37:48.:37:52.

the course has to be spectator and television friendly. It also has

:37:53.:37:56.

have points where you can see competitors from a distance behind.

:37:57.:37:59.

The athletes will know where the best places to have a look to see if

:38:00.:38:04.

they can see anyone behind. They couldn't see this pair because they

:38:05.:38:08.

are a fair distance behind. Their gap is opening all the time, around

:38:09.:38:17.

35 seconds. Kulhavy and Schurter are now on lap five of seven.

:38:18.:38:27.

The Colombian moves to the front. This is positions five and six. The

:38:28.:38:39.

man behind them should be Julien Absalon making a concerted effort to

:38:40.:38:42.

get himself within range, perhaps of the medals. It will be a phenomenal

:38:43.:38:50.

achievement and great viewing if he does. Very consistent laps by these

:38:51.:38:55.

two. A little bit faster on lap five than they were previously on lap

:38:56.:39:00.

two. They went out hard, now they have settled in and are applying the

:39:01.:39:04.

pressure. We might see a faster lap on this one. It looks like the gold

:39:05.:39:07.

medal will be contested between these two. An exciting race on for

:39:08.:39:18.

the bronze medal between Marotte and Coloma. Schurter has been very

:39:19.:39:24.

successful in marathon riding. -- Marotte has been very successful in

:39:25.:39:28.

marathon riding. When you get out there there is a mental game to stay

:39:29.:39:32.

composed and look more comfortable than the person that you're

:39:33.:39:35.

competing against. This is interesting because the Italian was

:39:36.:39:46.

ahead -- Absalon was ahead of the Italian. Now the gap has opened up.

:39:47.:39:51.

Is Absalon reaching the end of his efforts here? The Frenchman rolls

:39:52.:39:56.

over the line. He is well over two minutes down on the race for the

:39:57.:40:03.

gold medal. That will really hurt. Has at someone -- has Schurter given

:40:04.:40:12.

it up? Not the best day for Schurter. It was such a talked about

:40:13.:40:16.

event him in Rio that we would see the final showdown. Have the two-man

:40:17.:40:20.

race, but it hasn't panned out like that. Schurter is not having the

:40:21.:40:30.

best race. The Belgian champion goes through.

:40:31.:40:44.

The brilliant former 2010 World Champion, one of the great

:40:45.:40:56.

characters of the sport, one who without his fifth Olympic Games.

:40:57.:41:03.

Check out this fight in this section. We've seen that Schurter

:41:04.:41:08.

likes to take the lead through here. They attack that little bit of

:41:09.:41:12.

section. Into downtown, the Rock garden. Schurter likes to lead in

:41:13.:41:23.

this section. Absolutely masterful. Most of the technical sections, we

:41:24.:41:27.

have seen Schurter accelerate to the front. He is able to take the lead

:41:28.:41:33.

when he wants to. This is getting a little bit more fatigued and less

:41:34.:41:40.

composed in the technical sections. Schurter just flying up these step

:41:41.:41:44.

ups. Two distinct lines, one either side of the rocks. Well practised,

:41:45.:41:53.

keeping it together. This is the deep end of the race. Lap five of

:41:54.:41:58.

seven. Fatigued and aspirations start combining to create all sorts

:41:59.:42:07.

of difficulties for the riders. Coloma in fourth place will be

:42:08.:42:11.

thinking, "There goes my bronze medal!" He has to do something as

:42:12.:42:19.

Kulhavy and Schurter climb up that right. Begin with my athletes who

:42:20.:42:26.

competed in Rio, the different things that go into their mind.

:42:27.:42:29.

Being at the Olympic Games are significantly so much different and

:42:30.:42:33.

higher pressure, simply because it comes around every four years and

:42:34.:42:37.

you need to get that preparation smack bang for the day. In a World

:42:38.:42:42.

Cup, there is another one next week. It is not as higher pressure. You

:42:43.:42:46.

don't spend their four years with it in the back of your mind. Every

:42:47.:42:49.

single day these Olympic athletes about the Olympic Games. That is the

:42:50.:42:55.

reason why things get out there -- why things happen when they get out

:42:56.:42:58.

there. They just don't have everything in control because it is

:42:59.:43:05.

such high pressure. One off, the other half two. They run here. Once

:43:06.:43:11.

you get traction and come off, it is very difficult to get on. Marotte

:43:12.:43:18.

has been -- Coloma has been very tactical, trying not to put too much

:43:19.:43:22.

pressure on himself. It is just amazing how much the media can have

:43:23.:43:26.

an influence on so many different things. If Schurter explains to the

:43:27.:43:30.

media, this is my type of course, I love it, that message gets out there

:43:31.:43:34.

and plays the mind of the competition. Look at the gap. Oh,

:43:35.:43:41.

Schurter nearly loses it at the bottom. Keeping it together. On the

:43:42.:43:48.

other side, Kulhavy is off the back. Did he have a problem? Schurter just

:43:49.:43:57.

accelerated it. That was so scary for the Swiss leader as we look back

:43:58.:44:03.

at Marotte and Coloma. These are the men racing in bronze medal

:44:04.:44:06.

contention right now. Marotte just stepped off the map as does Coloma.

:44:07.:44:11.

Whilst this is going on up front for the gold medal fight, we see

:44:12.:44:14.

Schurter just applying pressure through the technical section. Just

:44:15.:44:21.

there, as he applies the pressure, nearly came unstuck. I don't think

:44:22.:44:28.

Kulhavy saw that. He really is putting a search here. Schurter is

:44:29.:44:34.

on fire. -- a surge. He has decided he will win this race from the front

:44:35.:44:40.

and leave nothing to chance. Kulhavy is a good 8-10 seconds off the

:44:41.:44:46.

leader now. This is what we expected. This man, Schurter, he has

:44:47.:44:52.

looked powerful. He has had good acceleration when he wants to move

:44:53.:44:56.

to the front. He really wants to finish with Kulhavy who -- he really

:44:57.:45:02.

doesn't want to lose to Kulhavy who outsprinted him in the final stages

:45:03.:45:07.

of the race in London 2012. He wants to play it a little bit more safe,

:45:08.:45:11.

put the effort in. He won't be easing off the pedals until he

:45:12.:45:13.

crosses the line. Ferreira is a significant moment as

:45:14.:45:28.

Nino Schurter applies the pressure. -- this is a significant moment.

:45:29.:45:34.

Halfway through the sixth lap of seven. It was unusual to see

:45:35.:45:38.

Schurter come unstuck as he was applying the pressure, but the

:45:39.:45:42.

mental energy that goes into this. Seda focused faces of them in front.

:45:43.:45:48.

Not a moment to relax. Schurter had a little bit on this lap. Get the

:45:49.:46:07.

feeling he is suffering. They look over their shoulders to see who is

:46:08.:46:14.

behind. The gap is growing all the time. Nearly one minute to Maxime

:46:15.:46:25.

Marotte. Schurter has looked impeccable throughout. He came into

:46:26.:46:30.

the competition as favourite, he has won four out of the last five World

:46:31.:46:38.

Championships. He is looking great. This is Kulhavy now. He is relaxed,

:46:39.:46:42.

he knows he has been beaten. He is not digging deep and panicking that

:46:43.:46:48.

Schurter has a bit of a gap on him. He is the Olympic gold medallist

:46:49.:46:54.

from London. The gap has opened up quickly. Schurter is on fire. All he

:46:55.:46:59.

has to hope for is that it stays together for him mechanically and

:47:00.:47:03.

physically. You feel he has the condition. So much attention to

:47:04.:47:08.

detail preparing for the Olympic Games with his equipment. He has

:47:09.:47:14.

been raiding this bike with great success, he has won World Cups with

:47:15.:47:21.

that. But having this course,... Let us take a look at them coming down.

:47:22.:47:29.

And Asti crash. And another. Such a hard crash on those rocks. He has

:47:30.:47:38.

taken a lot of impact on his chest. Cracked ribs so often happen as you

:47:39.:47:41.

get more fatigued on these technical sections. But look at Schurter, look

:47:42.:47:49.

at the gap he has put on Kulhavy. He will get some confidence an

:47:50.:48:00.

incredible ride by Schurter. He will get some confidence with that. The

:48:01.:48:05.

man in Gold medal position is really applying the pressure. He has been

:48:06.:48:12.

so consistent over the years. He likes to ride really will. He has

:48:13.:48:21.

27.5 inch bay, which suited him perfectly, but the 29 did not. --

:48:22.:48:29.

bicycle. He sits really low down over the front end of it. And it is

:48:30.:48:40.

all paying for Nino Schurter. No locks Raphael Gagne, the Canadian.

:48:41.:48:54.

National luck -- no luck. And he'd is that all Portuguese rider, a

:48:55.:49:00.

marathon champion this year as well. But Schurter, the cross-country

:49:01.:49:03.

World Champion, is leaving nothing to chance as he chases down an

:49:04.:49:10.

Olympic gold medal. He's not interested in taking on anything at

:49:11.:49:14.

the moment, he is just on a mission, riding to the Olympic Games that

:49:15.:49:19.

such a consistent manner over the years. He came to the competition

:49:20.:49:24.

very ambitious, he really wants the gold medal, and he is well on his

:49:25.:49:34.

way. Kulhavy comes to the tech zone. She shakes his head that he shakes

:49:35.:49:38.

his head. That one will do. Often the first man has something in it,

:49:39.:49:43.

so they will have a choice whether they want plain water or what they

:49:44.:49:48.

want in it. That is why he will have shaken his head to the first one.

:49:49.:49:52.

Depending on what he wanted to consume coming up to the last lap.

:49:53.:49:59.

He is on a mission, he's in rhythm. Kulhavy looks a little less

:50:00.:50:04.

aggressive. There is no shortage from aggression here for Nino

:50:05.:50:12.

Schurter. The World Champion, silver and bronze medallist twice in the

:50:13.:50:18.

Olympic Games in London and Beijing. He wants a gold medal and he has one

:50:19.:50:28.

lap to complete. He took on the race break from the start, going out hard

:50:29.:50:31.

and getting in the first few possessions, riding at the front

:50:32.:50:34.

from the start, which has paid dividends. He has also appeared to

:50:35.:50:40.

be the strongest man in the race. Kulhavy is looking at his tyres. Has

:50:41.:50:45.

he got a mechanical? His pace has dropped dramatically, but his body

:50:46.:50:49.

language and expressions, there was nearly a look of this man being too

:50:50.:50:55.

good for him. It has been a great read from Kulhavy defending his gold

:50:56.:51:01.

medal. A battle with Schurter, but that six lap when Schurter decided

:51:02.:51:04.

to put it all to bed with an incredible attack, that has left

:51:05.:51:10.

Kulhavy over half a minute back as he heads into the final lap.

:51:11.:51:14.

Schurter will not want to hold anything back. He will be mindful of

:51:15.:51:18.

the pitfalls that can happen on the last lap. We saw Schurter going

:51:19.:51:24.

through the startling, with his fastest lap. He has the endurance

:51:25.:51:31.

and power, and he is now putting it down. What about this battle for

:51:32.:51:40.

bronze? These two have been at it almost the length of the race. For a

:51:41.:51:45.

while it looked as if the Spaniard was off the back, but he has

:51:46.:51:58.

rejoined. Here's a real character. They have been fighting it out the

:51:59.:52:05.

whole time. Maxime Marotte looks so good, then the Spaniard fights back.

:52:06.:52:19.

Looking at Kulhavy going up, he was almost taking off, such as his

:52:20.:52:23.

effort. We know that he has immense power. If he harnesses it on the

:52:24.:52:28.

final lap, he might give Nino Schurter afraid. But half a minute

:52:29.:52:35.

is a lot to make up on this 4.5 kilometre circuit.

:52:36.:52:51.

Look at them hammering it. They are going to go at each other. Who is

:52:52.:52:57.

going to win this battle for the bronze medal? It is not a little

:52:58.:53:03.

battle, it is a big battle, with so much at stake. Some mental games

:53:04.:53:12.

going between them. Fighting and attacking, really exciting race for

:53:13.:53:18.

the bronze medal. This is the gold medal man at the moment, Nino

:53:19.:53:24.

Schurter. He is in a class of his own. He had one little mishap on the

:53:25.:53:29.

previous lap, where that could have come unstuck, but he controlled it

:53:30.:53:33.

so well with so much experience. He will play it safe on these technical

:53:34.:53:41.

sessions. This is a beautiful section of the course. Schurter

:53:42.:53:45.

attacks it. He's getting tired legs on the final lap, but he still looks

:53:46.:53:52.

strong. An incredible effort. As he opens the gap on Kulhavy. Kulhavy

:53:53.:54:02.

has given his best here in defence of the gold-medal. -- his gold

:54:03.:54:07.

medal. But it is slipping away from him. Looks like this will be the

:54:08.:54:18.

transition that we had been expecting to happen and mountain

:54:19.:54:21.

biking for a while. Julien Absalon has been the king for so long. Last

:54:22.:54:30.

two years Schurter has been the World Champion, chipping away at the

:54:31.:54:34.

Crown that Julien Absalon has. Surely this will be the new

:54:35.:54:40.

champion. The new king of cross-country mountain biking.

:54:41.:54:46.

Julien Absalon is in ninth place. About 3.5 minutes down. With Julien

:54:47.:54:53.

Absalon retiring after this Olympic Games, it looks like it is all

:54:54.:54:56.

Schurter because he has been consistent. Kulhavy, he is second in

:54:57.:55:01.

the World Championships, the reigning champion from London 2012.

:55:02.:55:07.

But it is now all about this man. He loves that section, he has done very

:55:08.:55:14.

well through the in every lap. That is not much that Schurter cannot do.

:55:15.:55:18.

A lot of discussion about this course being well suited to his

:55:19.:55:27.

strengths. This is an exciting race, all the way through between those

:55:28.:55:30.

riders for the bronze medal. But Kulhavy is between Schurter and the

:55:31.:55:36.

two chasers fighting for the bronze medal. He will not be able to relax

:55:37.:55:40.

too much. It looks like he has accepted, this is Kulhavy, that

:55:41.:55:45.

Schurter is too strong today. Just trying to get to the finish. He will

:55:46.:55:50.

be pleased with a silver medal. He wanted a gold medal but he is

:55:51.:55:54.

fighting to keep the distance between the two fighting it out for

:55:55.:56:01.

the bronze medal. Schurter is so smooth. He is very low over the

:56:02.:56:06.

front of the bike. Kulhavy is a bigger man, but Schurter is so

:56:07.:56:17.

smooth as he rolls down into the rock garden. This is where he had a

:56:18.:56:22.

scary moment on the last lap. Taking it a bit easier after the mishap he

:56:23.:56:27.

had. He wants to get through there safely. You see them struggling at

:56:28.:56:35.

different times. Yes, just when you think one of them is done, he is

:56:36.:56:39.

back, then the other slips away. It is a brilliant battle for the bronze

:56:40.:56:40.

medal. Schurter is getting closer and

:56:41.:56:55.

closer to the gold-medal. Kulhavy, on the well worn track. The

:56:56.:57:12.

pathway has been carved through the rock garden. He knows exactly what

:57:13.:57:23.

can happen in a mountain bike race. He won't have given up hope just

:57:24.:57:27.

yet. You never know what might happen to the man in the lead. He

:57:28.:57:32.

would not be wishing it on him, but he has to keep himself ahead of

:57:33.:57:40.

these two, the battle for bronze. At the moment it is Coloma and bronze

:57:41.:57:44.

medal position. Maxime Marotte is the man chasing him.

:57:45.:57:52.

What a special moment it would be for Schurter, he already has a

:57:53.:57:59.

bronze medal from Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012, the Swiss man.

:58:00.:58:05.

Will he make it here? He will take confidence from the gap. Nino

:58:06.:58:14.

Schurter has not put a foot wrong. We have seen many other contenders

:58:15.:58:16.

suffered mechanical problems. A few people have suffered puncture

:58:17.:58:34.

is. So we have seen others crashing, but it has been smooth riding for

:58:35.:58:40.

Schurter and Kulhavy. We must not forget what Kulhavy dead at the 2012

:58:41.:58:44.

London Olympics when he sprinted home to take the gold medal from

:58:45.:58:48.

Schurter in the last couple of hundred metres. He is also looking

:58:49.:58:51.

behind them, maybe thinking that the gold medal is out of reach. Schurter

:58:52.:58:56.

will not take the pressure off the pedals until he crosses the line.

:58:57.:59:01.

Third time lucky, we hope, for him because he has displayed so much

:59:02.:59:06.

strength and pure class out there today.

:59:07.:59:12.

He makes this course looks so easy. The gap is 44 seconds. This is half

:59:13.:59:21.

way through the last lap, the bronze medal battled. Coloma and Maxime

:59:22.:59:27.

Marotte. They have been locked in battle for the last 4.5 laps.

:59:28.:59:39.

Perhaps one of them will walk away without an Olympic medal. One of the

:59:40.:59:43.

worst places to finish in an Olympic Games. Coming into the Olympic

:59:44.:59:48.

Games, you would have put Maxime Marotte as a medal chance, but

:59:49.:59:52.

Coloma has done really well, probably not one of them that we

:59:53.:59:56.

would have listed as a medal chance. He has been fighting in this

:59:57.:00:02.

position for the entire race. Maxime Marotte is comfortable on the feel.

:00:03.:00:09.

Coloma has applied pressure. Interesting to see the Frenchman, to

:00:10.:00:15.

see if he has anything in the legs. It has been a fantastic battle.

:00:16.:00:25.

He made his way to the front, starting from the back line and it

:00:26.:00:32.

all fell apart so early in the race. Did not get his chance to see what

:00:33.:00:38.

he was capable of. It would have been a wonderful battle, a little

:00:39.:00:46.

side story I would think, more than a side story, here's the champion.

:00:47.:00:51.

Whether he finished in the medals or not, just how he went here. He is

:00:52.:00:56.

the 2008 junior champion and last road in a World Cup in 2009, he does

:00:57.:01:03.

not have the race craft experience of these riders. There are few

:01:04.:01:09.

better than this man, 46 Micro, he looks down as he comes down and

:01:10.:01:19.

heads towards the back -- Nino Schurter. He is not putting pressure

:01:20.:01:25.

on the pedals, there must be something seriously wrong, this is

:01:26.:01:27.

not what we have seen from 13 macro. -- Jaroslav Kulhavy. This is

:01:28.:01:44.

devastating for him, maybe that is why he has dropped off. Two riders

:01:45.:01:50.

battling it out for the bronze medal behind him. It does not look as

:01:51.:01:58.

though he has a flat. It is possible that he is really trying to play it

:01:59.:02:08.

safe. So 13 macro, he will be feeling the heat. -- Jaroslav

:02:09.:02:14.

Kulhavy. This will be impressive if he has. He has been so calm and

:02:15.:02:18.

cool, he has been choosing his moment. Jaroslav Kulhavy here.

:02:19.:02:26.

Interestingly, he has just dropped the pace, he lost time to Nino

:02:27.:02:32.

Schurter. He would like to have caught sight of Jaroslav Kulhavy and

:02:33.:02:36.

fancy a shot at the Silver medal. He is going over the rocks now. Super

:02:37.:02:43.

impressive ride from the Spaniard and we see the Frenchman in the

:02:44.:02:48.

background. He has broken away. This is the man in the lead, Nino

:02:49.:02:52.

Schurter. He needs to play it safe to take the gold medal. What an

:02:53.:02:57.

impressive ride, a man who would have felt the pressure coming into

:02:58.:03:04.

Rio. Bronze medallist in Beijing and a medallist in London. He wants this

:03:05.:03:11.

medal. Fantastic race by Nino Schurter. -- a gold medallist. Nino

:03:12.:03:16.

Schurter has done everything perfectly. He is going to put the

:03:17.:03:20.

finishing touches to a remarkable ride. He has stayed at the front of

:03:21.:03:28.

the race from early on. Timed his attack perfectly on the penultimate

:03:29.:03:32.

lap to get away from Jaroslav Kulhavy. He will punch the air, Nino

:03:33.:03:39.

Schurter is the Olympic champion in 2016. He has got the full set, gold,

:03:40.:03:44.

silver and bronze and this will taste very sweet for the world

:03:45.:03:50.

champion. Very deserving champion, from start to finish, what a

:03:51.:03:55.

fabulous race. That is the class of a man who is at the top of mountain

:03:56.:04:01.

biking. Here comes the silver medallist, Jaroslav Kulhavy. A

:04:02.:04:04.

fantastic effort by Jaroslav Kulhavy to go in defence of the gold medal

:04:05.:04:10.

he won in London. He fought a hard battle with Nino Schurter but could

:04:11.:04:16.

not stay with him. He managed to hold onto second place, suffering on

:04:17.:04:21.

this final lap, but a silver medal for Jaroslav Kulhavy from the Czech

:04:22.:04:27.

Republic, to go with his gold medal from London four years ago. He will

:04:28.:04:32.

be delighted. He had stomach problems. He got through for the

:04:33.:04:37.

silver medal, for a true champion, it is great to see his delight. What

:04:38.:04:43.

a ride from this man, he had a fabulous ride, but he comes off

:04:44.:04:51.

better here. The bronze medal for Spain. 11 mackerel. An amazing ride.

:04:52.:05:06.

He is loving it -- 11 mackerel. -- Carlos Coloma Nicolas. It is so

:05:07.:05:10.

beautiful to see how excited they are. Delighted. He is ecstatic with

:05:11.:05:23.

his results. More disappointment for the Frenchman who lost out in the

:05:24.:05:33.

end. That is the top three, and what a ride by 32-macro.

:05:34.:05:46.

-- Jhonnatan Botero Villegas?. He started way back on the fourth row

:05:47.:05:54.

of the grid and the 24-year-old from Columbia comes over in fifth place.

:05:55.:06:04.

The gold medallist is Nino Schurter. His Swiss countrymen, Matthias

:06:05.:06:17.

Fluckiger comes in in fifth place. 34 will want to have a in that in

:06:18.:06:27.

the World Cup still to come -- Julien Absalon. The Italian finishes

:06:28.:06:37.

in seventh place. He gave everything, as every one of these

:06:38.:06:43.

riders has done here. This man put his attack down in lap six where he

:06:44.:06:47.

had his fastest lap. A fabulous ride. Rolling across the line is

:06:48.:06:57.

Julien Absalon, two time Olympic medallist, it was not to be this

:06:58.:07:03.

time around for the French legend. The bat on has passed to Nino

:07:04.:07:13.

Schurter. David Valero from Spain is the next man ends. They have

:07:14.:07:22.

predicted they would do laps around, but difficult conditions out there

:07:23.:07:27.

today, an average speed of 22.1 kilometres per hour for the race

:07:28.:07:32.

from Nino Schurter, so tougher conditions than expected. That is

:07:33.:07:35.

the man who can respond to all conditions, Nino Schurter. This is

:07:36.:07:42.

Victor Koretzky, the young French rider, we will see more from him I

:07:43.:07:46.

am sure to come. Top ten finish at the Olympic Games. There is the

:07:47.:07:57.

German, 39-macro. He wanted at least a top ten position. -- Manuel Fumic.

:07:58.:08:09.

A world-class display from Nino Schurter. This is Jose Antonio

:08:10.:08:12.

Hermida. Fifth Olympic Games for Jose Antonio

:08:13.:08:33.

Hermida and a very respectable 15th place for the former world champion.

:08:34.:08:39.

Great to see team-mates they are congratulating each other. Nino

:08:40.:08:44.

Schurter, 30 years of age, many more bike races for that man to. Here is

:08:45.:08:54.

21-macro. The Australian who has put in a brave and solid right -- Daniel

:08:55.:09:11.

McConnell. Excellent ride by Grant Ferguson from Great Britain. This is

:09:12.:09:19.

a young man with great talent. The British champion crosses the line in

:09:20.:09:28.

17th place. Great to see Grant Ferguson coming back in 17th, but

:09:29.:09:31.

what a commanding performance from Nino Schurter, he has five world

:09:32.:09:37.

titles to his name, a silver medal from Beijing, a bronze medal from

:09:38.:09:45.

London. Well, welcome to BBC Four and thank you for your company, it

:09:46.:09:50.

is starting to rain again, let us look because we can see for the last

:09:51.:09:55.

day of the Olympics, a busy Olympic Park, trees six era where fans and

:09:56.:10:01.

at the start of today, 12 gold medals on offer and there are still

:10:02.:10:04.

plenty of gold medals to come. Lots of action here, starting with

:10:05.:10:14.

handballs. Denmark take on France who are aiming to be the first side

:10:15.:10:19.

to win three Olympic handball medals coming up next. We have the

:10:20.:10:26.

basketball final where Serbia hoped to steal the headlines, the

:10:27.:10:31.

Americans have not been beaten as a national side since 2006, though.

:10:32.:10:39.

And there are gold medals up for grabs in boxing here on BBC Four and

:10:40.:10:44.

we have the women's middleweight final. So, what do you know about

:10:45.:10:54.

handball? It might not be one of our national sports but it is hugely

:10:55.:10:59.

popular around the world. It is fast and furious, let us find out more.

:11:00.:11:12.

Olympic handball is a fast blowing, high-scoring, body contact game that

:11:13.:11:16.

is played over two halves of 30 minutes. It is played by two teams

:11:17.:11:21.

of seven players, six outfield players at a goalkeeper. Each goal

:11:22.:11:25.

is surrounded by a semi-circular area indicated by a line six metres

:11:26.:11:29.

from the goal and only the defending goalkeeper is allowed in this area.

:11:30.:11:34.

Players can move with this ball by dribbling and passing in the same

:11:35.:11:37.

way that basketball player would. They can block the ball with their

:11:38.:11:40.

head, chest, five knees but players cannot

:11:41.:11:58.

stand still with the ball for more than three seconds at a time. If a

:11:59.:12:01.

player commits a foul, the referee can award a free throw or a shot

:12:02.:12:04.

which is taken from the seven metre line and is given when the referee

:12:05.:12:07.

rules that there is a goal-scoring opportunity. A free throw is like a

:12:08.:12:09.

free kick in football and is generally taken from the spot with a

:12:10.:12:12.

foul occurred and it is taken from the free throw line if that happens

:12:13.:12:15.

in this area. Overtime is only played during the knockout phase it

:12:16.:12:17.

scores are tied at the end of regulation time. When this happens,

:12:18.:12:20.

teams play five minutes extra and only play another five minutes of

:12:21.:12:23.

the score is still tied. If the teams are still tied at the end of

:12:24.:12:29.

this period, the result is decided by a shoot out. The French have won

:12:30.:12:35.

back-to-back gold medals at the current world champions. They are

:12:36.:12:38.

taking on Denmark and aiming to be the first side to win three Olympic

:12:39.:12:43.

handball medals. Let us join our commentators.

:12:44.:12:51.

Make that four! Who are penalty shot. -- bad penalty shot. Expecting

:12:52.:13:06.

him to bring both arms down and he only brought one down, clever play

:13:07.:13:12.

by the goalkeeper. They go to crowd the attack. 12 minutes played, a

:13:13.:13:17.

penalty for each side, Dan -- Denmark scored there is an France

:13:18.:13:27.

missed theirs. It is six all. Their best finish previously was losing

:13:28.:13:30.

out in the bronze medal match in Los Angeles in 1984. Out on the

:13:31.:13:38.

weighing. Mortensen finds the back of the net. Denmark move into the

:13:39.:13:45.

lead. I think that is the first time in the match that they have been in

:13:46.:13:51.

front. It is 7-6 to Denmark. Mortensen with the gold. The World

:13:52.:14:01.

Championships went to extra time. A European Championship at home, a

:14:02.:14:05.

final they would rather forget when France destroyed them in front of

:14:06.:14:09.

the home crowd. Will it be third time lucky for Denmark against

:14:10.:14:14.

France here today? He manages to release the ball. Huge angle. Makes

:14:15.:14:22.

up for the penalty miss. A second goal for Guigou. Good play from the

:14:23.:14:36.

French, really quick and low. 60 six was left completely stranded. It was

:14:37.:14:50.

an open door -- Svan Hansen?. Right on the goal-line. They have managed

:14:51.:14:54.

to overlap on the wing quite few times. It is all going sideways at

:14:55.:14:59.

the moment. They desperately try and open up the wing. That is what he is

:15:00.:15:07.

good at, Olsen, he is not the tallest of players but he is so

:15:08.:15:12.

fast. Nothing given. He has to race back, he thought he was fouled.

:15:13.:15:17.

Morten Olsen is making his Olympic debut in his first senior

:15:18.:15:27.

tournament. Hansen with the goal! Denmark now have an advantage of

:15:28.:15:30.

two, and for one of the best goalkeepers in the business... Oh!

:15:31.:15:36.

It got a deflection. Just as he released the shop, it took it

:15:37.:15:47.

through Omeyer's legs. Number 19 comes in, a hugely entertaining

:15:48.:15:51.

player if he can get himself going, another one of the PSG contingent.

:15:52.:15:58.

Hansen sporting a nice bandage over his left eye. He sustained the cut

:15:59.:16:04.

against France earlier. Narcisse keeps the line. He's got a huge

:16:05.:16:14.

shot! Daniel Narcisse, third goal. Back to within one as we go midway

:16:15.:16:18.

through the first half in the Olympic final. What a good quality

:16:19.:16:23.

final this has been. This is exactly what we hoped it would be from the

:16:24.:16:28.

start. Just got to sustain it. They've played a lot of handball,

:16:29.:16:31.

these two teams, over the past couple of weeks. No doubt that

:16:32.:16:36.

fatigue will become a factor towards the end of the match, as Noddesbo

:16:37.:16:46.

comes on, towards the line. Straightaway he is in the frame and

:16:47.:16:51.

again a save off the right foot of the Maher -- of Omeyer. He plays for

:16:52.:17:04.

Barcelona... His club team-mate has not come on, also player at

:17:05.:17:11.

Barcelona. Karabatic seems to have caught Olsen's foot. He apologises,

:17:12.:17:17.

as Olsen walks around rather gingerly. Another fantastic save!

:17:18.:17:26.

And there is the quick break goal! Denmark 9-9 France. Once again, as

:17:27.:17:33.

it has been since 1999, Thierry Omeyer making the stop for France.

:17:34.:17:39.

Unbelievable! You think that long-range shot is easy, it's an

:17:40.:17:43.

open goal, trust me, when you're standing on the court it looks like

:17:44.:17:47.

a postage stamp at the other end. You got to get a straight line onto

:17:48.:17:52.

it and that was nicely done. The UQ making a good start here. The last

:17:53.:17:59.

ten minutes of the semifinal against Germany, they lost their way but

:18:00.:18:02.

somehow they just pulled it back in the last second. He's been loitering

:18:03.:18:08.

upfront and he doesn't have to go to far! A third goal into an empty goal

:18:09.:18:16.

for France and suddenly the tactic is beginning to backfire on Denmark.

:18:17.:18:26.

Another goal for Mikel do you view -- Michael do you -- Guigou. Denmark

:18:27.:18:37.

nine - ten France. Part of the problem is no turnovers for France

:18:38.:18:42.

in the opening ten minutes. Three goals in quick succession to

:18:43.:18:46.

overturn what was in danger of becoming dominance by the Danes.

:18:47.:18:51.

Brilliant shot! Hansen, you just can't give him an inch. Allowed to

:18:52.:18:58.

come back inside Olsson, took out Dipanda. Nikola Karabatic coming out

:18:59.:19:06.

a bit late but he was still deep, nine metres is. Ten goals all the

:19:07.:19:12.

twin Denmark and France, very high-scoring match. Mortensen, out

:19:13.:19:19.

on the wing. Little by me back inside and now Denmark will slow it

:19:20.:19:25.

down again. -- a little dummy. France very quick to cover what was

:19:26.:19:28.

going to be a fast break goal otherwise, because both teams like

:19:29.:19:34.

to play quick handball. As the substitution is make a Fabregas

:19:35.:19:37.

hangs in the middle, hoping that Hansen might not be looking when he

:19:38.:19:41.

tries to make a pass to the oncoming to players. So far there is nothing

:19:42.:19:49.

in it between these two teams. 10-10, 18 and a half minutes played.

:19:50.:19:53.

Denmark leaving the goalkeeper in for the first time, ten minutes

:19:54.:20:00.

played. The shock came in from quite long-range, probably saw it from

:20:01.:20:05.

quite a long way. Incomes Narcisse. The whistle had already gone, he was

:20:06.:20:10.

fouled as he tried to break through the defence. The French fans

:20:11.:20:19.

chancing on the back of that save for the Thierry Omeyer, using his

:20:20.:20:27.

nickname. It's beginning to resemble a bit of a 3- to- one. Narcisse

:20:28.:20:32.

nearly left the door open, as Karabatic goes through. He's got a

:20:33.:20:41.

huge jump on him. They waited patiently and surely and Panda

:20:42.:20:46.

finishes off the job with his second goal. Nicely played. Here goes

:20:47.:20:54.

Hansen, goes for it, saved by Omeyer! Another stop by the French

:20:55.:20:59.

goalkeeper. Omeyer still having to make the stop. Listen to that, the

:21:00.:21:08.

chance is coming from the French fans for him. We've got just ten

:21:09.:21:15.

minutes left now in this first half. Denmark 10-11 France. Denmark

:21:16.:21:22.

thought they had the ball, but Dipanda was sent flying. It may have

:21:23.:21:28.

been for the foul on the two players trying to put the block on. It was a

:21:29.:21:34.

shot on the back of Karabatic and that was a handoff as a result. It

:21:35.:21:42.

goes in on the line. Karabatic, swings! Oh! He wants to be changed,

:21:43.:21:50.

has he taken a knock, I wonder, Nikola Karabatic? He turns and fires

:21:51.:22:00.

past the goalkeeper. Larsson gets a bit of a talking to from

:22:01.:22:04.

Gudmundsson. Now it is France who have the 2-goal margin. Look how

:22:05.:22:09.

quickly, who was bad, Fabregas, came out to try and cover Olsen.

:22:10.:22:23.

The younger Karabatic brother has moved to the central position. Oh!

:22:24.:22:34.

That is so cheeky, his second goal, Toft. The goalkeeper comes out he

:22:35.:22:41.

runs it off his fingertips and over the keeper. Denmark back to within a

:22:42.:22:46.

goal. Eight and a half minutes left in the first half. Dipanda, back

:22:47.:22:57.

inside. N'Guessan has come back into that position, N'Guessan shoots and

:22:58.:23:01.

it's blocked by Toft and will be a corner throw to France. He has come

:23:02.:23:07.

on for the charismatic Nikola Karabatic. Plays for is a French

:23:08.:23:18.

team but he has been signed up by Barcelona for next season. He goes

:23:19.:23:27.

out to the far side, the carpeted area, picks up all kinds of debris

:23:28.:23:32.

and fluff and changes over. Two relative newcomers to the French

:23:33.:23:38.

team. Dipanda on the right side and N'Guessan on the left. What a moment

:23:39.:23:43.

for him to come in. He played in the World Championships in 2013 but that

:23:44.:23:47.

is his only appearance for France in a media event. Dipanda has never

:23:48.:23:50.

played in a major competition for France, making his debut here. Good

:23:51.:24:02.

save, although the shot fairly central for Landin, couldn't quite

:24:03.:24:12.

get it in the corner. It went straight into Landin.

:24:13.:24:18.

Denmark 11-12 France. Seven and a half minutes left. There is

:24:19.:24:30.

Narcisse, sat down. Luka Karabatic on in the centre, and Fabregas.

:24:31.:24:40.

Denmark now try and come forward. Three of the four defenders for

:24:41.:24:43.

France are relative newcomers. I'm not sure we've seen this too often

:24:44.:24:47.

in the Olympics, as the more experienced players look for a bit

:24:48.:24:52.

of a break. Can they hold their own and stem the tide while the experts

:24:53.:24:56.

are resting? Team time-out called by Denmark. Quick instructions needed

:24:57.:25:07.

from Gudmundsson. A lot of the talking done by the

:25:08.:25:58.

assistant coach, Diider Dinard. Some of the experienced players pitching

:25:59.:26:01.

in, but also Dipanda, he has his words to say. A very democratic

:26:02.:26:03.

approach here, they really entertaining first

:26:04.:26:26.

half so far. Denmark now having to work really hard, intercepted, away

:26:27.:26:32.

goes Guigou and he scores! Nothing that Landin could do about that one.

:26:33.:26:38.

13-11. Even if you got a goalkeeper income if you give the ball away in

:26:39.:26:42.

positions like this, you're going to get punished. Well, the odds are

:26:43.:26:49.

against you. Easy goal for him. 2-goal lead restored for France.

:26:50.:27:00.

Mortensen has gone in. Nice follow-up, Mortensen following up.

:27:01.:27:09.

Attacking foul, that's exactly what Hansen was looking for. It looked

:27:10.:27:14.

like a harsh call, I thought he had managed to roll off him. Still

:27:15.:27:18.

complaints from Dipanda to the referee. He says forget it, you're

:27:19.:27:26.

not allowed to charge into the defenders as you try and get past

:27:27.:27:32.

them. The defenders stood still. Then the foul will go against you.

:27:33.:27:36.

Denmark with four turnovers, France have had a couple recently. Hansen,

:27:37.:27:46.

lays it off to Olsen. Tries to get it to Toft, and they do! What is a

:27:47.:27:53.

reaction that is from Henrik Toft. Very impressive. That certainly was

:27:54.:28:01.

a cracking goal. They can out of nowhere. As long as the ball leaves

:28:02.:28:10.

your hand in the area, you're allowed. He started on the wing but

:28:11.:28:15.

has now been moved to the right back position. He has already won a

:28:16.:28:21.

European and world title with France, but still one of the

:28:22.:28:25.

relatively new players in the team. Tries to get away from Hansen.

:28:26.:28:35.

Nothing given, as Landin saves. Still on court 21 for the Danes, he

:28:36.:28:39.

will go off in a second, the defence specialist. And now a chance to make

:28:40.:28:51.

the substitutions, Hansen goes off. We have less than five-minute 's

:28:52.:28:58.

remaining in the first half. France looking to maintain a winning run

:28:59.:29:02.

against Denmark in major competitions, but this match evenly

:29:03.:29:06.

poised, as we knew it would be. That came off the head of Fabregas, but

:29:07.:29:16.

he was holding him in place. The World Championships, European

:29:17.:29:19.

Championships, they are being played in January. This is at the end of

:29:20.:29:26.

the season. Six passes for the Danes. That is two, three... A free

:29:27.:29:34.

throw, and the count is still going. They try to put a ball up for a

:29:35.:29:40.

shot... Oh! Classic! Hansen, they teed him up and he delivered. First

:29:41.:29:47.

goal for him. Denmark bought it back level, 13 goals all. They knew what

:29:48.:29:51.

was coming. It definitely did go over the line, as it bounced down.

:29:52.:29:56.

So good from nine metres, Mikkel Hansen. He wrong-footed, yeah -- he

:29:57.:30:06.

wrong-footed by Maher Omeyer. France with the chance to come

:30:07.:30:19.

forward and take the initiative again, and how they would clearly

:30:20.:30:24.

love to be in front at half-time. Nikola Karabatic coming back on

:30:25.:30:25.

court. In goal for France, Thierry Omeyer

:30:26.:30:45.

still doing well with his 38. I saw the goalkeeper at the side of the

:30:46.:30:49.

court, they have not gone for all seven players up. There is a yellow

:30:50.:30:54.

card for that challenge from Fabregas.

:30:55.:31:05.

Hansen. You just cannot stop those, into the top right and Denmark now

:31:06.:31:16.

are ahead again, 14-13, two minutes on the clock in the first half. No

:31:17.:31:21.

problem for him either. Fires it in with his left hand and the

:31:22.:31:26.

25-year-old from mursigh draws that level again for France. He looks

:31:27.:31:32.

very relaxed. 90 seconds left of the first half.

:31:33.:31:53.

All square here. The Danes, I gain, Hansen, unstoppable, having a

:31:54.:32:00.

brilliant spell here. They are in front. Six goals from nine metres

:32:01.:32:10.

now for Mikkel Hansen. What can they do to stop it? There is less

:32:11.:32:14.

mobility in the defence, they cannot afford to individually mark him.

:32:15.:32:26.

Olsen is a big threat. He shoots wide, does Porte. Denmark with one

:32:27.:32:32.

last chance in the half and they would love to go in with a two goal

:32:33.:32:38.

advantage over at the champions. It will just take their time, not too

:32:39.:32:44.

much or the referee will call for passive play and then they will have

:32:45.:32:49.

six passes to get the shot away. They are going to take as long as

:32:50.:32:53.

they possibly can to give France as little time to come back. 20 seconds

:32:54.:33:00.

on the clock. Hansen, out to Sondergaard. Denmark are two goal is

:33:01.:33:07.

clear and ten seconds less daft -- left. Time-out is called. There was

:33:08.:33:19.

a sprint Didier Dinart to stop the clock. We will listen in.

:33:20.:33:57.

The chest pump between two old team-mates in the French side. Worst

:33:58.:34:09.

case scenario, Denmark for Denmark as they go when leading by one goal.

:34:10.:34:15.

They have eight seconds left, one chance for France. 5- to attack from

:34:16.:34:20.

France for the first time in the game. Turnover. Didn't he do well?

:34:21.:34:27.

The ball carried away as he tried to throw it down the court. The French

:34:28.:34:37.

are asking, what did we do? There was the sound from the bench, throw

:34:38.:34:41.

the ball down the court, still trying to work out what the foul

:34:42.:34:46.

was. He moved like a devil down the court. Fantastic save for him. The

:34:47.:34:54.

end result is at half-time in the men's handball, France's desire for

:34:55.:34:59.

three gold medals in a row will be tested in the second half. At the

:35:00.:35:03.

end of 30 minutes, it is 16-14 to Denmark. France really have

:35:04.:35:11.

dominated the men's handball game, but Denmark have never won an

:35:12.:35:15.

Olympic medal in this sport and they are running the favourites close. We

:35:16.:35:19.

will be back for the second half later on, but there have been a lot

:35:20.:35:23.

of other headlines today and let us bring you up to date. The Kenyan has

:35:24.:35:32.

won the last two London marathons and today got an Olympic gold in the

:35:33.:35:37.

final athletic events of these games. Hawkins finished a very

:35:38.:35:45.

credible ninth. In mountain biking, Nino shirt made it a full set of

:35:46.:35:48.

Olympic medals in the mountain biking. He gets gold here in Rio.

:35:49.:35:56.

Grant Ferguson came home in 17th place for Team GB. And in

:35:57.:36:02.

volleyball, men's volleyball, it was a thrilling bronze medal match

:36:03.:36:07.

earlier and it was won by the USA in a dramatic fifth set decider against

:36:08.:36:12.

Russia. We will bring you the best action from Brazil against Italy in

:36:13.:36:19.

the gold medal match later. But first let us turn our attention to

:36:20.:36:23.

the real central because boxing reaches its crescendo today and we

:36:24.:36:26.

have got the women's middleweight final for you, the USA contender,

:36:27.:36:37.

Claressa Maria Shields is the favourite. Let us catch up with our

:36:38.:36:49.

commentators. The first offer scheduled four two rounds in this

:36:50.:36:58.

final. This contest between boxers who know each other very well, the

:36:59.:37:11.

taller boxer wearing blue is Nouchka Fontijn. The Boxer in red is the

:37:12.:37:17.

ranked boxer in the world and that is Claressa Maria Shields from the

:37:18.:37:22.

USA. Crucial for Nouchka Fontijn to box at range, she knows that. She

:37:23.:37:27.

knows her opponent, they have boxed before. Nouchka Fontijn is boxing

:37:28.:37:31.

the right tactics, she is boxing Midgley -- main -- mainly mid to

:37:32.:37:40.

long range. She will go back to the thinking distance. Remember,

:37:41.:37:44.

Claressa Maria Shields has the speed, she has quality on the inside

:37:45.:37:49.

and if Nouchka Fontijn holds her feet too long, Claressa Maria

:37:50.:37:51.

Shields will come back with defensive shots on the inside. She

:37:52.:37:56.

is one of the fastest middleweight women that I have seen, probably the

:37:57.:38:01.

fastest. Very impressive up until now. Very fast with her hands and

:38:02.:38:09.

feet. Nouchka Fontijn gets through with another good right hand but

:38:10.:38:14.

uses her feet to close the distance. Nouchka Fontijn doing a good job of

:38:15.:38:18.

maintaining the distance but took a big overhand right there from

:38:19.:38:26.

Claressa Maria Shields. Nouchka Fontijn, the reigning European

:38:27.:38:28.

Championship gold medallist adding to the silver medal that she won

:38:29.:38:34.

back in 2011, also the rear -- reigning European games champion.

:38:35.:38:47.

Very good opening round. Nouchka Fontijn opening well, boxing well at

:38:48.:38:58.

range, but as it went on, Claressa Maria Shields getting better with

:38:59.:39:07.

some accurate shot picking. You have to start working, all right? Jab,

:39:08.:39:18.

Java, Java, keep jabbing. Billy Walsh asking her to keep jabbing.

:39:19.:39:25.

Nouchka Fontijn had a good round, particularly in the first half, she

:39:26.:39:29.

was in control, slight change in tactics from Claressa Maria Shields

:39:30.:39:32.

towards the end, she started to get in the -- on the front foot. We

:39:33.:39:37.

might see a change from Claressa Maria Shields, but the judges have

:39:38.:39:40.

gone for a Claressa Maria Shields. Nouchka Fontijn was unlucky there

:39:41.:39:49.

are not to get at least one score. Into the second round we go,

:39:50.:39:54.

Claressa Maria Shields looking to become the first American boxer to

:39:55.:39:59.

win back-to-back Olympic gold medals and when you think about that story,

:40:00.:40:05.

as Claressa Maria Shields starts the round, carrying out Billy Walsh's

:40:06.:40:09.

instructions and targeting the body, but when you think about the calibre

:40:10.:40:13.

of boxer that represented the Star Spangled Banner, none of them have

:40:14.:40:18.

stuck around to defend their Olympic titles. Claressa Maria Shields

:40:19.:40:21.

aiming to become the first American boxer to do so. Slight change, for

:40:22.:40:27.

most of this tournament, Claressa Maria Shields has sat back and

:40:28.:40:31.

waited for the counterpunches. She has got fast reactions and fast

:40:32.:40:36.

hands. If she gets caught with a couple more long-range shots, she

:40:37.:40:39.

will start going on the third, taking the contest to her opponent.

:40:40.:40:45.

It is important that Nouchka Fontijn headset long range. She cannot

:40:46.:40:50.

afford to hold her feet, she needs to maintain that gap. Right-hand

:40:51.:40:56.

success during the course of that exchange for Nouchka Fontijn.

:40:57.:40:58.

Time-out for just beyond the midpoint. She needs her boot lace

:40:59.:41:08.

adjusted, Claressa Maria Shields. Long looping right to the body from

:41:09.:41:16.

Claressa Maria Shields. Nouchka Fontijn working within range, just

:41:17.:41:20.

missing the target, she has to get closer. She gets caught with a

:41:21.:41:25.

faster shot. Claressa Maria Shields across her body with those hoax,

:41:26.:41:29.

very dangerous, very powerful, that is where her strength is, at mid

:41:30.:41:35.

range. Great salvo to body and head from Claressa Maria Shields who has

:41:36.:41:39.

electing to drop her hands and get on her back foot to try and entice

:41:40.:41:43.

Nouchka Fontijn to lead. A quick counter with the right hand. Great

:41:44.:41:48.

work by Claressa Maria Shields again. It is all part of the trap,

:41:49.:41:52.

lowering her hands, she wants her opponent to lead of back row. A

:41:53.:41:57.

little slip with the head and she comes back with fast counters.

:41:58.:42:04.

Skipping back to her corner is Claressa Maria Shields, very good

:42:05.:42:07.

second round of boxing. She swept the opener across the board, Nouchka

:42:08.:42:11.

Fontijn has a difficult puzzle to solve here.

:42:12.:42:22.

Just struggling with the fast counters. Her chin is in the air on

:42:23.:42:31.

the inside, a bad place to be when you are facing a powerful puncher

:42:32.:42:36.

like Claressa Maria Shields. Bent arm work, looks sloppy inside the

:42:37.:42:42.

gloves, but delivering at speed and sometimes for the judges, it is hard

:42:43.:42:47.

for them to see the punches. That one certainly was at the end and

:42:48.:42:52.

Claressa Maria Shields again across the board, Nouchka Fontijn needs a

:42:53.:43:02.

stoppage or a knockout here. Two rounds completed and two rounds to

:43:03.:43:09.

go. Nouchka Fontijn has conceded the opening two rounds unanimously.

:43:10.:43:14.

Claressa Maria Shields made a strong conclusion to the first round after

:43:15.:43:19.

Nouchka Fontijn started very well. And now Nouchka Fontijn trailing by

:43:20.:43:22.

two points from all three judges needs to get yourself back into this

:43:23.:43:27.

contest, what can she do differently to try and become the second boxer

:43:28.:43:30.

to defeat Claressa Maria Shields and the only boxer to do so up to this

:43:31.:43:35.

point in her career was Savannah Marshall en route to her World

:43:36.:43:41.

Championship win in 2012. She has gone about it on the right way on

:43:42.:43:45.

the outside, trying to draw the counters now from Claressa Maria

:43:46.:43:50.

Shields. She has to be quicker with her feet here, Nouchka Fontijn, in

:43:51.:43:53.

and out and she may have to throw caution to the wind, she knows she

:43:54.:43:57.

is behind and she needs to find that more powerful shot. She has to bring

:43:58.:44:01.

her opponent on to the punch to double up power. Not too bad from

:44:02.:44:09.

Nouchka Fontijn with that right uppercut, Claressa Maria Shields,

:44:10.:44:12.

again, the speed element, that is her strength. Very quick indeed, a

:44:13.:44:18.

much improved boxer from 2012, she won the gold in London, remember.

:44:19.:44:22.

Great combination from Claressa Maria Shields, winning that gold

:44:23.:44:27.

medal in London at just 17 years of age, she has improved in the last

:44:28.:44:35.

four years, taking more titles. That is a cracking right hand from

:44:36.:44:39.

Claressa Maria Shields, what a shot. The referee keeping a close eye on

:44:40.:44:42.

Nouchka Fontijn, if she takes to many more of those, standing out

:44:43.:44:49.

count could be issued. She is staying out of punching range,

:44:50.:44:55.

drifting in and out, very fast punches from the girl in red.

:44:56.:45:04.

Excellent stuff. Credit to Nouchka Fontijn, because she took some big

:45:05.:45:09.

shots, she is demonstrating stout punching distance and she was still

:45:10.:45:13.

there, able to exchange as the bell sounded. She is looking to become

:45:14.:45:18.

the Netherlands first boxing medallist since 1992. She is looking

:45:19.:45:26.

to emulate the boxer who took gold in 1928 in the featherweight

:45:27.:45:30.

division but she is facing a tall order now. Going forward, getting

:45:31.:45:36.

caught with shots like that, her chin is a little high. Look at these

:45:37.:45:41.

scores, Nouchka Fontijn trying everything, she has tried

:45:42.:45:44.

long-range, tried on the inside, coming out second best to a very

:45:45.:45:47.

skilful American boxer indeed. So, going into the fourth and final

:45:48.:46:08.

round, the boxer wearing blue, Nouchka Fontijn, representing the

:46:09.:46:12.

Netherlands, needs the punch of a lifetime here because she is

:46:13.:46:15.

trailing by three points on all three cards after three completed

:46:16.:46:19.

rounds of boxing. By perhaps changing strategy and throwing

:46:20.:46:23.

caution to the wind, she could be running onto the powerful, precise

:46:24.:46:27.

punches that Claressa Maria Shields possesses. It will be desperate

:46:28.:46:32.

stuff for Fontijn, but I thought she needed a really good third round,

:46:33.:46:35.

she had to get back into the contest. She took a view risks and

:46:36.:46:44.

she got caught out. The only gold-medallist for the boxing

:46:45.:46:47.

programme as she is demonstrating her defensive prowess now. In the

:46:48.:46:54.

four-year is that followed commercially has emerged as the team

:46:55.:47:00.

leader. Willie Walsh says that whatever Claressa Maria Shields says

:47:01.:47:03.

goes as far as the rest of the team is concerned. She's a wonderful role

:47:04.:47:06.

model for the rest of her compatriots. Again, making Fontijn

:47:07.:47:11.

miss, bamboozling her with that head movement. She's enjoying her work,

:47:12.:47:17.

Shields. Occasionally dips below the waist line, though the referee is

:47:18.:47:23.

indicating just keep your head up, slightly. Still very good skills,

:47:24.:47:28.

very elusive. Lohan is to draw the lead of Fontijn. Not bad but not

:47:29.:47:35.

enough, is it? Claressa Maria Shields lands a cracking right hand.

:47:36.:47:43.

She's landing more hurtful combinations to both body and head.

:47:44.:47:49.

Her father was a fighter. They used to watch videos together. Now she is

:47:50.:47:56.

imploring Fontijn... Fontijn trying to box her own contest at range. The

:47:57.:48:02.

little girl who pestered her father to let her in your late the boxers

:48:03.:48:07.

they used to watch on VHS video together has just made a little bit

:48:08.:48:12.

of history here because she has become the first American boxer to

:48:13.:48:16.

win back-to-back Olympic titles. The improbable journey that began at the

:48:17.:48:20.

age of ten when her father finally relented to her persistent pestering

:48:21.:48:26.

and took her down to the basement gym at the Fieldhouse, has arrived

:48:27.:48:31.

at a thrilling climax here with a second successive gold medal,

:48:32.:48:34.

characterised by someone the full defensive work in the fourth round

:48:35.:48:37.

and some forceful hitting to both the left and the right flanks. She

:48:38.:48:42.

was enjoying herself in that fourth round. Big left hook coming up, that

:48:43.:48:46.

was a cracking punch from Shields. She's the star of the show in the

:48:47.:48:52.

American team, no question. Much improved, speed, power. Yes, she is

:48:53.:48:58.

quality. Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by unanimous decision, and

:48:59.:49:10.

Olympic champion... In the red corner... Clarissa Maria Shields!

:49:11.:49:21.

Clarissa Shields giving thanks after letting out a roar of triumph. She's

:49:22.:49:26.

just been crowned the Olympic champion for the second successive

:49:27.:49:30.

time in the 75 kilograms middleweight division. A series of

:49:31.:49:33.

dominant displays throughout the course of the tournament will see

:49:34.:49:38.

her stand at the Olympic medal podium yet again. She becomes the

:49:39.:49:41.

first American boxer in history to claim back-to-back Olympic titles

:49:42.:49:46.

and at just 21 years of age, as she goes on a lap of honour full speed

:49:47.:49:50.

around the boxing ring, there could be many more to come, so much more

:49:51.:49:56.

to give. She's continuing to improve. One wonders how many more

:49:57.:50:01.

times we're going to see Clarissa Shields trade herself in that Star

:50:02.:50:05.

Spangled Banner on the Olympic stage. At that inclusion of four

:50:06.:50:10.

rounds, Clarissa Shields a dominant victor did take her second

:50:11.:50:15.

successive Olympic title. So, Clarissa Shields retains her gold

:50:16.:50:18.

and we have another gold medal out later on on BBC Four. Joe Joyce

:50:19.:50:24.

looks to emulate his friend and sparring partner Anthony Joshua in

:50:25.:50:28.

winning the superheavyweight gold. But we're going to head back to

:50:29.:50:32.

handball, where we could have an upset on the cards. France aiming to

:50:33.:50:37.

become the first side to win three Olympic handball medals, while

:50:38.:50:40.

Denmark look for their first men's handball medal of any colour. Here

:50:41.:50:43.

is the second half. They have very much got themselves

:50:44.:51:09.

saddled... Lovely play! The defender hesitates, Karabatic is straight

:51:10.:51:15.

through. The pass was on, look at that committee dummies to the right

:51:16.:51:21.

and buries it. Nikola Karabatic scores for France. They trail

:51:22.:51:27.

Denmark by two goals in the Olympic final. 38 minutes to go in this 38

:51:28.:51:37.

-- 28 minutes to go in this 30 minute second-half. Mortensen goes

:51:38.:51:42.

to attack the line and Karabatic goes to attack

:51:43.:51:54.

Larsen. ' guy she got across to it but so much strength on it, fired

:51:55.:52:06.

into the goal of Olsson. Here come France, three goals down again.

:52:07.:52:17.

Karabatic, back again to Narcisse. Narcisse, substituting with Nikola

:52:18.:52:32.

Karabatic on the line now. Space now to go to the wing. Oh! He hangs in

:52:33.:52:40.

the air force along you've got to think he's got wings! He finds the

:52:41.:52:45.

back of the net. Three minutes of the second half. Look how long he

:52:46.:52:51.

holds up there and just fires it off before he lands. Only just before he

:52:52.:53:00.

lands! Very close call. He's been commissioned to design a bracelet by

:53:01.:53:03.

the French Olympic Committee to promote Paris's 2024 Olympic bid.

:53:04.:53:13.

Nice cold, if there is an artist in the team. Artistry on the handball

:53:14.:53:17.

court and now artistry with jewellery. That man is unstoppable!

:53:18.:53:25.

A goal for Hanson. They are just giving him too much room and have

:53:26.:53:29.

been doing for the last ten minutes of the first half. That is a

:53:30.:53:35.

suspension, grabbed around the neck, caught out by his pace. It is brief

:53:36.:53:40.

but it is long enough, and holding from behind anyway. Just going to be

:53:41.:53:49.

a free throw. The French have a penalty. They will get possession,

:53:50.:53:56.

and down to six players for the next two minutes. They just about keep

:53:57.:54:04.

hold of it. He was just about Baha'i and Porte. Porte into Karabatic, who

:54:05.:54:11.

turns and shoots and scores! Denmark 19-17 France. Another goal for

:54:12.:54:17.

Karabatic, who tries to get his Team GB up for this one. He must be glad

:54:18.:54:26.

he's got no sanctions against him. Karabatic, who before the game asked

:54:27.:54:30.

about this third consecutive gold medal and said we haven't really

:54:31.:54:34.

been talking about it in the team at all, we're focusing on this

:54:35.:54:37.

competition. We have a lot of new young players in the team and we

:54:38.:54:40.

don't want to overburden them with history that isn't necessarily

:54:41.:54:43.

theirs. It is about this moment. Sensible speaking from the veteran

:54:44.:54:48.

French back player. Players say that, but I can never actually

:54:49.:54:51.

imagine that is how they think. There is the shot, saved. Especially

:54:52.:54:57.

the five players in question who are going for their own personal gold

:54:58.:54:59.

medal, but maybe it is something they are keeping to themselves!

:55:00.:55:06.

Quietly saying it would be nice, but don't tell the others! There is the

:55:07.:55:14.

shot, deflected wide, I think. Olsen thinks he was pushed in there.

:55:15.:55:21.

Henrik Toft got free, couldn't quite handle it. Karabatic looked to pass

:55:22.:55:29.

to the line, it comes back again! Top corner. As soon as he has come

:55:30.:55:33.

back on again, Nikola Karabatic is having a huge influence on the game

:55:34.:55:43.

and slowly but surely he is turning around. The 20-year-old, whose first

:55:44.:55:50.

major tournament was the European Championships this year... Now the

:55:51.:55:55.

French fans are getting into it, they are the ones you can hear.

:55:56.:56:02.

Denmark now are leading by just one goal. Olsen feeds across to Christie

:56:03.:56:21.

Anson -- to Christiansen. Hanson takes the shot and he was under

:56:22.:56:24.

pressure because the arm was aloft for about 40 passes on the passing

:56:25.:56:29.

chord. Nikola Karabatic shadowing him all the way and then his brother

:56:30.:56:35.

jumping in front. A bit of shirt and a bit of hair, I think. Can't be

:56:36.:56:44.

more than a couple of passes and that may well be it. Fabregas maybe

:56:45.:56:52.

belying his young age and lack of experience. He goes in clumsily when

:56:53.:57:03.

Abalo was already in front. Such a big player, giving them all kinds of

:57:04.:57:10.

grief. Fabregas annoyed with himself, he knows it. So,

:57:11.:57:19.

Christiansen here. Hanson to write back he has been starting there

:57:20.:57:25.

but... There is the chance and there is the goal! The first of the match

:57:26.:57:31.

for Mads Christiansen and it makes the Danish fans happy. On this

:57:32.:57:41.

occasion beaten. Karabatic has got two to mark. Short-handed, taking

:57:42.:57:49.

out their goalkeeper. Narcisse... Closely marked by Toft,

:57:50.:58:03.

defending so well. Took it at the second attempt. First goal of the

:58:04.:58:16.

game. Crossed back in, and Karabatic, if he's not scoring he's

:58:17.:58:19.

providing. He is on the wrong side of Toft. The right side, from his

:58:20.:58:25.

point of view. Found the back of the net. France down to six players. I

:58:26.:58:34.

think Christiansen wanted to shoot but the pass was just above him. Be

:58:35.:58:39.

shot straight into the face of the keeper. Phase two, Nikola

:58:40.:58:47.

Karabatic... He just got in his way answered and waited for the impact.

:58:48.:58:52.

Quick turnover. Karabatic remonstrating. Well, he cut back in,

:58:53.:58:58.

and actually he had stopped moving. Oh! Just wide from Lasse Svan

:58:59.:59:14.

Hansen, and Gudmundsson crouches to his knees and says, how did he miss

:59:15.:59:22.

that one? Lasse Svan Hansen was nearly 80% scoring at one point, the

:59:23.:59:25.

last couple of matches have brought him down, but he is around 70%

:59:26.:59:30.

accuracy, success rate on his shooting. Nikola Karabatic says he's

:59:31.:59:34.

got a chance here and apologises. The referee says he blew the whistle

:59:35.:59:42.

but he didn't hear it. There waiting for Narcisse to come back around.

:59:43.:59:49.

Pushing buried deep in defence now, trying to cut through and the arm is

:59:50.:59:59.

taken. Both the Toft brothers have defended superbly in this match.

:00:00.:00:07.

It's amazing to see Rene Enders Toft here at all -- Rene Toft here at

:00:08.:00:14.

all. He has made his return quicker than the doctors anticipated. That

:00:15.:00:16.

is why he is so

:00:17.:00:18.
