forces the mistake on his shooting arm. Waved his arm in the air, that

without two of their most experienced players defensively,

both from PSG. Struggling a little bit when they turn to the bench.

goals. So, the Danes will look to try and lengthen this. There was

talk in the last team Time out that they were going to leave it a little

get the biggest result in the men's handball team's career. Five minutes

two up. Olsen takes a shot but is fouled in the act of shooting and it

will be a free throw. Sorhaindo getting in the way, the Barcelona

is one goal in it with three minutes on the clock. France have fought

back from five goals down. It was 25-20, now it is 26-25. Denmark

starting to look a little less comfortable in the game. They had a

superb period at the start of the second half when they just started

to pull clear from the French. Hanson, out on the wing for Svan,

scores it! Svan desperately trying to get back and block Karabatic, as

France come forward. The referee saying nothing doing but get up,

let's crack on with this. Well, it's nothing... A bit of mopping and

carrying on. That goal brings to an end... France with a five goal

turnaround, they had been 25-20 down, back to 25-26. After a lull,

the Danes were glad to get a goal and put some space between them and

the French. Dispossessed entirely fairly by Rene Toft! The clock still

ticking. Denmark have to slow the pace down. Finding all kinds of

excuses. Thinking about a change of ball as well. There is the incident

again. Pulled out of his hand. 27-25. Three steals for both sides.

Denmark coming forward, two goals to the good. Hansen... Look at the

nerves on the Danish fans's faces, are they about to see their team win

a first gold medal. Given away. Now France will have the chance to come

forward. Less than a minute to go, has to be now or never for France!

The whistle goes, too many steps, was it, from Karabatic? He can't

believe it! With a minute left, the Danes are starting to party. The

French coach has his head in his hands, as that could be it. They're

going to have to really attack with their defence now, France.

talismanic French player. To kill the game, Larsen! That is surely it!

Denmark surely heading for gold. The clock is stopped by 25 seconds for

three goals, it is Everest to climb. Didn't care how they stopped him,

Denmark. It was Rene Toft who committed the foul. The instructions

partying. They have lost the European and world title. There are

EU Championships in their time, three times they have been

runners-up in the World Championships, and in their first

Olympic final they take the Gold Medal. For France, the two-time

defending champions at Beijing at London are going to have to settle

for silver here. But an historic day for Denmark, the greatest day in the

history of the men's handball team, as they become Olympic champions.

The French looking to the skies. The last game perhaps for the old guard

of Thierry Omeyer, Daniel Narcisse, maybe even Nikola Karabatic. But

delight for Denmark and that man, turning into a legend of the sport

if he is not already. He set up so many assists in the game. The final

team have won Olympic gold on three separate occasions, but until now

the men's Danish handball team had won no Olympic medals, so starting

with gold? You can see what it means to them. You can also see what it

means by the disappointment on the faces of the French team. Look at

the Danes! Having a pretty good party, they will be having fun

tonight. But as I said earlier on, 12 gold

medals have been up for grabs on the last day of the Olympic Games. Some

Farah on or an attempt to get rid of as many people as possible? These

guys have watched Mo Farah, they have seen him dominate the sport at

world level, five World Championship gold medals, three Olympic gold

medals already, now they have decided and I think this is clever

and sensible on their behalf, they are saying we cannot beat him in a

slow race, let us try and make it a bit faster. Mo Farah now in the

middle of a pack is being tested in endurance, they are talking about

who will go next and whether they will go, seven laps to go in the

men's 5000 metres and so far the Ethiopian plan to stretch Mo Farah

and see if he has the strength coming is faster than the fastest,

they will find out if he is stronger than the strongest. Great Britain

web two man in the top seven, Ethiopia leading it but slowing,

that was the slowest lap, the previous one. I suspect this one

will be even slower. This one looks if anything a bit slower. Mo Farah

take him to further Olympic glory, a mile that could take him to his

fourth Olympic gold medal and he has decided he wants to get rid of this

race early, he does not want to let them control it, the one who I

thought was a danger is there. 1000 metres left in that 5000 metre

final. That was the slowest kilometre. Mo Farah leading, danger

everywhere he looks, but he knows that all of these people have tried

in the past two out kick him and none of them have managed to get

past him. None of these people are quicker than Mo Farah when he is at

his best. Mo Farah is leading it. He comes down the back straight, three

medals in the by, is it to be another one, an historic four? He is

checking behind, to the side, looks up at the big screen, sees them all

their, Paul Kipkemoi Chelimo on the inside, Bernard Lagat, almost a fall

as Hagos Gebrhiwet had a little shove. There goes Mo Farah at the

legs to spare, he is looking up at the screen, they are trying to catch

looks inside, checks there is no danger, Paul Kipkemoi Chelimo is

trying that he will not get him, Mo Farah has gone, there is no way he

can stop them, Mo Farah is going to get the gold medal again, the double

double, four Olympic titles, four Olympic gold medals, incredible from

Mo Farah. Congratulations, a fourth gold medal, you have created another

piece of history. I cannot believe it. My legs are bit tired, I do not

know how I would recover. People were bringing me food in the room

and I was resting and I cannot believe I did it. It is the dream of

every athlete. I cannot believe it. It has not sunk in. Is this the most

satisfying one? Definitely. It was not just a fluke in London, I have

done it again here. I want to go home now and see my beautiful

children and hang the medals around their neck. Husein was getting this

something we are born with. I hate losing. If you dream about something

and you have ambitions and you are willing to work hard, you can

achieve your dreams. It is something I have been working hard for years

there. I do not see my children. For me, I was not going to miss out. I

wanted to do it for them. I will not catch up that time, but if I can

achieve something in my career, that is something for them and that

Teodosic back. Durant comes right back with it. The US spreading it

out. Not much movement through the middle by them. Jordan setting up

underneath. Durant draws the foul, but that was a difficult shot. The

other Americans are standing around, which you can live with. It's

extraordinary that the US have not used the movement more because that

is what Serbia do and it creates openings and it creates shots. So

far it is going Serbia's way. Compared to what happened in the

group stage, it's actually not that much of a surprise. Durant misses

Well, we praised the Serbia team and said their passing was excellent and

their defence was really strong. -- he praised. He knew they were in for

a game here. Serbia lead by two. Markovic brings it up. Teodosic in

two Raduljica. He kicked the ball. That was hard to tell exactly what

went wrong, there. If it is a foul, you would think it might be an

sportsmanlike conduct. He kicked the ball. Well, it has gone Serbia's

way. Absolutely. Oh sorry, he kicked the ball. Now I understand.

Teodosic... And that one is tipped away and Durant having trouble

gathering it in, but he gets it and they are tied at seven.

Teodosic misses the three, but the rebound to Macvan. It is something

they did so well against Australia. When you can start dominating them,

that is a big advantage. Now Anthony wants the ball on the baseline. He's

got a size advantage. He goes across court to Thompson, who wants the

three. He just beat the shot clock. It will be a foul on Markovic. That

is what Serbia don't mind, they don't mind fouling. They're going to

be aggressive whatever happens. The shot clock is running down and there

are no easy attempts for the US so far, except for that one. He

struggled to get it under control! That is one thing use C sometimes

from a guy who is six foot nine. Thompson goes for the three and

hits. Just under half way through the first quarter.

Teodosic, drives, splits two defenders and Jordan stops that and

Thompson had it, the alley-oop to Jordan didn't work. Defensively,

Jordan is magnificent. To stop Teodosic and then working so hard to

get back at the other end. No way through for Teodosic. Amazing that

Jordan has become such a key player for the United States. He really

needs -- they really need him on defence. They really need him as a

stopper. He's really taken over from Cousins as the starting centre.

Jordan can't hold it and it falls to Bogdanovich, his first touch of the

ball. Bogdanovic. Stripped away and I

think Thompson was out of bounds. Serbia will be delighted with how

they started this game, keeping up with the United States. It's better

than how they started in the group game. You see what Serbia can do

here, as Jovic comes in. That will be a foul on Anthony, trying to poke

the ball away. Jovic played in a number of tournaments and it's like

having two more starters coming in. The way the coach has rotated his

team and put his team together has been really amazing stuff. Raduljica

with a nice pasta back and gives it to Jovic, but he misses. USA in the

lead at 11-9. And that is their first lead...

Actually it is their first lead in the game. Bogdanovic. Great drive

and great look. Raduljica stuffs it through. Bogdanovic drew two

defenders to him and then played the low bounce pass. Two of the hottest

dunkers in the game. The ball stolen away by Bogdanovic, and the foul.

You see what Irving is saying. I think he got the ball, there. Watch

the left arm. The left arm of Bogdanovic made contact with Irving.

He's saying, he made contact with me. That is one that rarely gets

called. Against Australia we saw it, they just know when to pressure and

get the hand in at the vital moment. They do it so well. Defensively they

have been fantastic throughout this Olympic Games, Serbia. He hasn't got

going yet, Bogdanovic. But he is a player who seems to grow with the

game and usually improves as the game goes on.

Serbia up I2-macro with three and a half to play in the first quarter.

He took a shot as he went through the middle. I think Cousins is going

to have the foul for pushing. The Serbian defensive pressure, they are

not allowing the United States to play the game that they want to

play. You can see from the coach's face that he is not happy with the

way his team are playing. They're getting a bit frustrated, the US,

with a view technical fouls called against them. That was the earlier

contact. The 15th foul from the United States. That is why Serbia

are at the line here. Only three minutes left. Kyle Lowry.

And other foul. And other two shots at the basket as well. It has gone

the United States' way. It is so difficult to tell! I know exactly

what you mean. The arms are wrapped up. Burke of which takes the dive,

which is what you're told to do. -- Bircevic. The referee has to make a

judgment call, who does he think had more grip on the other? Cousins

makes the second. Three minutes to play.

The ball went over the back line. It is an unusual mistake because

usually they are so aware of what is going on and they communicate really

well. Jimmy Butler is cutting through the

middle while Kevin Durant shoots across. Cousins tried to make room.

Butler picked up the loose ball. A great hassle, two Serbians going

for it. That is a foul, Simonovic with his

hands in the air. Defensive display from Serbia. We saw them against

Australia, they are giving the United States really tough time.

They are so aware of what the possibilities are, when the player

loses his dribble, they pounce on it. They know what the possible path

is. There was no avenue for George. He seems to have hurt his mouth. It

is a physical, aggressive game, which is how they want to play.

We have had 11 fouls so far in this 1st quarter. They have to pick up

the pace if they want to match the group game. It has been a great

contest so far. Serbia are pushing the United States. It is the

question of whether they can last. They have lasted in previous games.

Cousins to the ball, and Bogdanovich missed.

Cousins laid it in. This is new from the United States, they have started

to look for the inside pass. Cousins carried it, offensively he is more

of a player and Jordan. And he has just proved it. The United States

need this, movement. This will open up the Serbian defence. If they do

it more often they will get more turns at the basket. The United

States is two ahead. One minute to play in this quarter.

At some of the players from the US women's team, who won the gold

medal. He stepped out, the court is a bit

smaller than the NBA, and the players who play in the NBA are not

used to the smaller court, and step out on a number of occasions. It

sounds like a blues song, stepping out. Theodicy

is how he got that pass back, I thought it was a deflection, it was

that good. He has the vision and ability to get the ball out in

strange situations. He makes the second. 35 seconds to go.

Kevin Durant finally hit the three. This is where the US has basically

kept themselves in games. Eventually Kevin Durant, and a couple of other

boys, Klay Thompson, they open up their game and it is hard to defend

against them. They are pretty hard to stop.

That was off at the buzzer. What a great 1st quarter at basketball.

That gives the United States the first clear space they have had over

Serbia. They lead 19 to 15. STUDIO: so, at the moment, the USA

is still going for their 15th gold medal, but Serbia are running them

close. We will be back for the second period in a couple of

minutes. You can see the weather is still pretty windy. My ponytail is

like a propeller. We have some helper is holding everything down.

We will see how we get on. As we have been talking about it today, it

is the last day of Olympic action. 12 medals on offer, some of them

have been handed out. Let us bring you up to date. Kenya has won the

last two London marathons, and to guided Olympic gold in the final

athletics event. Callum Hawkins from Team GB finished ninth. Swiss rider

Nino Schurter made it a full set of the Olympic medals in the mountain

banking. Bronze in Beijing, silver in London and cold here. Grant

Ferguson came 17. Shields won they women's middleweight. She won big

gold last year and has not lost in the intervening four years. And as

you saw, the huge underdogs Denmark upset the odds to win the men's's

handball gold, to deny France third successive gold medal. This is their

first handball medal of any colour for the men.

USA national side has not been beaten since 2006, and they are

going for their 15th gold medal. Here is the 2nd quarter.

Bogdanovic Telegraph that. 21-15. It is not often that it is telegraphed

by Serbia. It hit the front, and then there was a deliberate foul on

Kyle Lowry to stop the fast break. That was his first personal. If I am

reading the sideline chat correct, from the American bench, I don't

think they always understand the fouls. In an NBA, you would get six,

and here you get five. They are precious, you do not want to... He

just got another, see what I mean? Usually gets into that, he is so

aggressive, and plays in the area where you commit fouls. Every foul

is precious. He has got very quick hands, and wants to use them to poke

the ball away. This is the way the United States want to play the game.

Klay Thompson comes in. If they're outside shooters get fired, and Klay

Thompson really starts fighting, they could get away. He is a good

outside shooter. DeMar DeRozan has gone. He does not play much

generally. We saw against Spain, the amount of technical fouls that were

called. If you start arguing the case for too long, you'll get it

cold against you. It is one of the things that the coaches need to

stress. That was tipped away, then off. In the NBA, players are used to

the referees, and vice versa, they can say a certain amount of stuff as

long as they are not showing them up, basically. Here, they can get

very sensitive. That is just the way that they referee the game, and you

have to understand that and play accordingly. Yes, we know it, and we

knew it coming into the tournament, and everyone coming into

international basketball knows it. George was partially blocked. Kyle

Lowry stall that one. Cousins didn't go either, and he gets the global.

-- foul. Kalinic's reaction was to eat his shirt. If it keeps

rebinding, they will get chances and eventually the basket. Kalinic's

frustration was because Serbia could not get the rebound. If you give the

US that many chances, something bad will happen. They did well in the

1st quarter, to give away so many rebounds and keep the United States

low scoring, but you cannot keep doing that.

He wants people under the basket and a cut down the middle, that is what

it looks like. Klay Thompson knocks it away from Mac fan. We have seen

this before. He is really smart, he knows what he's doing. And he wants

keep them on their game plan, and focus on it. That is how they did it

in the group game. Do not worry about the score too much, just keep

doing what you're good at. I'm surprised we have not seen as

much of Nikola Jokic. He has to go for a smaller, quicker

man. A brilliant pass, brilliantly done,

he looked to Mavrovic and then set the bounds pass. -- mark of which.

It looks like nothing is on, and then it is on. Another long-range

three, makes it 28 - 17. The United States look more fired up than in

the group stage. When Kevin Durant hits a three, he does not always

celebrate like that. Markovic gets a good look and hit a

tree. Serbia have just got to keep doing that. If you keep playing that

game, you will keep getting baskets. Durant, he wants another one. And he

hits another one. 31-20. He's picked it up now. He had a quiet semifinal,

but he's got the hard hand for the United States. Markovic, and it is a

steal. Durant stuffs it back. That was always going to be the job for

Serbia. If one of those stars really turned it on, and Kevin Durant is

now, the United States could get out of reach. Durant is that way before

the pass. When it comes right to him and he stuffs it through. The United

States would have looked at Serbia and seen the moves that they do. The

players have cottoned on to that and now they're taking advantage of

that. You talked about before how Serbia can be so difficult the

second time round. They've had a look. The United States have done

the same thing with the Serbs. This time around, they don't want to make

the same mistake. Just under two macro minutes gone in the 2nd

quarter. The US have increased the lead to 33. Serbia are having their

second time-out of this quarter just to staunch the momentum. They know

how to use the time-out just as good as anyone does. And Kevin Durant

issue deny this, I don't know what you can do to stop him. The American

team is built primarily on the fact that they know how to shoot. If Klay

Thompson starts shooting like that... Durant is taking them from

beyond the NBA strike which is about a foot and a half farther out than

the international strike. It's hard. Bogdanovic has a good look. He

misses. Serbia are still playing well. Their movement is so

impressive. They are orchestrating things, knowing who to make the past

two. It's great to watch. A coach's job is to make sure his players know

how to get the good shots. Serbia are still getting good shots. It is

the player's job to make those shots. The coach must get the

players on who can make them. Jordan with the rebound, and the fall

which... Covering his head with his shirt, is Kalinic. In frustration.

That is the fourth full Serbia. But the big problem. Now the question is

does Jokic come in as a forward? He's got no choice now. Still six

minutes to go and he is already on the edge of fouling out. That is

tough for Serbia. Similar pitch comes in instead. He is a smaller

forward. -- Simonovic. Perhaps they can annoy DeAndre

Jordan. Serbia will do everything they can to try and put him off his

game. You just saw the replay. Has he been called for something? It's

hard to tell. Similar pitch -- Simonovic has just come in the game.

That one, put through. George got more of the ball than he did. Points

to George. That one was what they call the foul. That surprises. That

surprises me, too, because it looks like that just got a piece of the

ball. It is an Raduljica. I can see the fall, he comes across the farm.

Watch George's hand. I thought that was a foul, actually. He hit the

elbow and held him off. It looked like he hit the ball. Raduljica,

treading a fine line like usually does. He is on three personal fouls

already. The US wanted a time-out because they were getting a little

bit sloppy. The thing that players want in any basketball, all they ask

in any sport from the referee is consistency. They want to know what

is a foul and what isn't. What you can get away with, and what you

can't. No matter how smart you are, there

is no way to stop it. The coach has his assistant coach doing the job as

well. He is an incredibly smart player as well. I think that is

probably why the coach appreciates the work that he does because he

realises how important that is on the court. Irving at the line. Makes

the first. Jordan is still puzzled about his fall. He gets puzzled a

lot. He comes back, and he's basically deducing it, asking if

someone could tell him what he did. 35-22, just under six minutes to go

in the 2nd quarter. Markovic brings it up for Serbia. Raduljica on the

far post. He stays with three fouls. His team take it out to Markowitz.

It goes in and out and Cousins gets the rebound.

He has found the sweet spot. 28-22. Durant was well behind, get the

easy. Markovic misses. Right now it's a little tight. There are so

desperate to get back basket. Raduljica has fouled by Irving. You

can't defend this, it's impossible. He is just figured. When he gets on

a roll... Wow. I think he's going to join the Golden State Warriors. He

will be flying for sure. Thompson and Durant breading the floor. Shots

off, Cousins with the rebound. Up to a Irving.

Irving, Cousins and in. Serbia have to improve. If they can't shoot, the

United States will keep going. He notices the path went off of

Cousins' foot and Serbia will keep possession. Watch Irving here, just

dribbling through traffic and then he has the bounced past two Cousins,

Cousins takes it off the glass. Jordan has got a different range. A

great range. Our director has discovered that. Simonovic can't get

the long want to fall. Cousins clears the board and Irving brings

it up again. Past Bogdanovic, into the corner. Thompson, when he gets

to spread those feet a little and get that square position, he doesn't

miss. The US is now up by 21 points. George would like to take a

time-out, I think, but he can't. That's what they need. Finally,

Simonovic for three. They need a couple of good defensive blows and a

couple of threes to get back within striking distance of the US which is

where they were when the 1st quarter ended. Do and trying to spin around

kudos that. I'm not sure why he had to throw that one around. -- trying

to spin around Teodosic. Bogdanovich tried to get a bit of room.

Look at that difference. It just makes Serbia's job harder. Not

impossible, just harder. Thompson is off on the three, but Cousins keeps

the rebound. Irving for three. Thompson tips it in and misses.

Serbia trying to run it. Simonovic, he misses. Cousins gets the rebound

to Irving. The game, the Americans have got multiple shots. Eventually,

they do. That is the issue for Serbia. Durant to the basket. Jordan

with the move. Jovic turns to his team-mates failing, who is going to

stop him? Who should have been there? Serbia went down by a similar

score against the United States. But they need to make more shots here.

They cannot keep missing like this. Simonovic has just taken to threes.

They have both been in the basket and come out. A good backpass by

Bogdanovic. But now Bogdanovic doesn't take V3. Can't get it to

drop. Jovic puts it in off the glass. The leader can be as great as

it is. It's been great, but you have to finish it. They really have to

put away their shots. At least they got that one in in the end. Durant

just slowing things down. Cousins with a little screen. He drops it

for Cousins. Cousins keeps control of the ball, goes to the hoop and

the foul will be by Bogdanovich. In this much, physically, here is

Durant. Good luck! He is so long. Six foot nine, might be a little bit

taller, but he has got long legs and long arms. He is. They nicknamed him

With the Tarantula. You can see why. He's an extraordinary athlete.

They're looking comfortable on the bench. The Serbian team will keep

fighting. No matter what the score is, they will keep plugging away.

Cousins makes the second. It is a 20 point gain, 47-27. Just under two

minutes to play in the first. Cousins goes out, Conor Langton it

comes in for him. Anthony will, in effect, be the centre Mark. --

Carmelo Anthony comes in for him. With Cousins and Jordan out, guess

what happens to the middle of the court? Teodosic takes advantage of

it. He drives the middle. Durant is just slowing things down.

I think the United States are just sitting back and watching Kevin

Durant. Clear out and let do it! Teodosic Falls, and he loses the

ball. -- clear out and let Cady do it.

Look at Cousins, 12 rebounds in the first half. DeAndre Jordan was

rebounding very well. With that and the poor shooting so far from Serbia

it is looking good for the United States. And Jordan has only got

four. Is that all? It sounds like more. 16th and the two centres.

Carmelo picking that up. To be honest, I would like to get someone

to challenge Carmelo more. Jovic is my man. Good ball movement, all

around the outside. We've seen that one! Repetition is boring. 52-29.

That is the difference. Serbia do the same mood and missed the three.

The United States with the same move get Durant to hit it. Good rebound

by stomach. -- by Vladimir Stimac. That will be the end of the first

half. After a close 1st quarter the US has outscored Serbia 33-14.

Before the Olympic Games started, the USA were 16 to one onto the team

there gold medal, and I do not think he would bet against them at this

stage. Serbia have a lot of work to do. We will rejoin that match in

just a few minutes. Let us turn our attention to boxing. As we know, Joe

Joyce was bidding to emulate his great friend and sparring partner

Anthony Joshua and win a gold medal before he turns professional after

these Olympic Games. Today he was taking on France's Yoka. Let us go

to the start of the second round. Joyce springs out of the corner.

Yoka was unable to respond. A terrific start to the second round

by Joe Joyce. We talk about the movement and punching being an

attribute of Yoka. Joe Joyce set a pace that many find difficult to

live with. The French man is blocking the punches. We have to

give him credit. There are punches getting through. It is a better work

great from Joyce. But he has two target the body.

The rivalry stands at one apiece. Joe Joyce prevailed last summer to

take the European games gold. Tony Yoka got his revenge at the

semifinal stage of the World Championships. We spoke about this

earlier, he has to move his head and block the shot.

He cannot afford to get her many space. Joyce has to work harder. He

has allowed Yoka that bit of space to work.

Anthony Joshua spoke of the respect that generally exists between

Olympic boxers, but in the media exchanges, and it may have been lost

in translation... He is hurting, that was a good shot.

Yoka in press conferences said that he does not regard Joe Joyce is a

smart boxer. I do not know if that was lost in translation, he said

this would be easier for him, but Joe Joyce has other ideas. He is

demonstrating his physical prowess and his... He has to keep it going.

Yoka is breathing through an open mouth. Joe Joyce came back with a

triple right-hand. Two to the head, two to the body. That is Tony Yoka's

fiance, and his friends. They do not look very convinced. It was good in

terms of Joyce's effort and work great. This chap came back. Joyce

targeting the body. They know it is close. Joe Joyce is setting a

fantastic piece. He just avoided the shot coming back.

Across the board for Yoka. He is very fortunate, the Frenchman.

Going into the final round. Joe Joyce needs a good round to get back

on parity from the judges. Into the third and final round. The Olympic

superheavyweight final. Joe Joyce, in blue, the reigning World

Championship bronze medallist looking to emulate the

accomplishments of Audley Harrison and Anthony Joshua by claiming

Olympic superheavyweight gold. But Yoka swept the second round

unanimously on the scorecard. The judges preferred the single shots

from Yoka. They will say that a lot of Joyce's punches were hitting

gloves and elbows. The volume is coming from the man in

blue, looking to overturn the two-point deficit. That is difficult

to do, so the most straightforward thing is to stop this man in the

third and final round. A real British Bulldog spirit. He is going

for it. He is targeting the body. Joe Joyce has responded with punches

to the body. Yoka, it takes a few seconds to recover. A fit man, the

Frenchman. But he is tired. He is enjoying it.

He is trying to distract Joe Joyce by doing the shovel. -- shuffle.

Joyce has to find more quality here. Ten out of ten for effort.

But Yoka is blocking a lot of the shots. Joe Joyce looking to find the

finishing shot. Tony Yoka erecting the barricades.

Clubs, forearms and elbows. Joe Joyce has defined the punch of a

lifetime. A terrific atmosphere here, both men

in pursuit of top spot. The ten second clapper is barely audible.

Yoka having premature celebrations. Tony Yoka, he is going to add

Olympic gold to World Championship gold, but he will know that has been

in a fight against a man who gave it absolutely everything. He took his

share of the first-round, but this man aged it 2-1. Yoka was unanimous

in round two. I think Yoka was fortunate to take two of the scores.

It was a good round from Joe Joyce. Very lucky indeed. The judges will

say that a lot of the punches were to the arms and elbows, but you have

to give him ten out of ten for effort. He could not have done

anything else in terms of what he put on. A fantastic display. But

Yoka will get it. Ladies and gentlemen, the winner, by

split decision, and Olympic champion...

In the red corner... Tony Yoka! So, the reigning world champion becomes

the Olympic champion, with a split decision victory over Great

Britain's Joe Joyce, and takes France's second gold medal of the

boxing tournament. The other was won by the women he is due to marry here

in real -- Rio at the end of the games. He got the youth Olympic gold

six years ago. He deserves -- Joe Joyce deserves immense credit. Beer

is the Olympic lightweight champion. And her husband to be draped in the

French flag. What a wonderful moment. Reigning world champions,

being crowned Olympic champions. Joe Joyce deserves immense credit,

battling his way with her brilliant performance to the second position

on the podium. He gave it everything he had in pursuit of Olympic gold.

Best managers ahead. -- this man edged ahead. Joe Joyce becomes Great

Britain's first silver medallist for Britain in this superheavyweight

division. Every time they enter the superheavyweight tournament, they

win a medal. You can be enormously proud of the

performance, but devastating to come up short. Yes, the last bout of the

night, the last medal for the Olympic Games of 2016, I thought the

gold medal was mine. I just have to watch it back to see where I went

wrong, if I went wrong. What did you make of the contest, Anthony? I have

never seen a heavyweight throw so many punches in a fight before. We

have been talking about counterpunching and aggression, Joe

Joyce was in making the punch, and there is no way that you can block

those shots, if you know what I'm saying. For me, here's the Olympic

champion. Everyone here was cheering him on. In spirit he is champion. He

has done so well. I am so proud at what he has achieved. The sky is the

limit. He is a credit to the sport. Lovely words. Going into the final

round, did you know that you had to stop him? Yes, he let me know that I

was down, but I was landing shots on him for the last round and maybe two

eye-catching shots, and all throughout it I was peppering him

with shots, going through his guard, and it was just the odd shot. What

is your opinion? We thought it was very tight, but the general

consensus was that we thought you just nicked it. But that is the

nature of the sport. Despite the verdict, how proud are you of the

way you have performed? I give it my all. I got the training rate, many

thanks to Fraser Clark, coming out and helping the spa -- sparring. I

would not be as sharp without him. Obviously big Josh was a big help.

Just disappointed. Silver medal is not that bad, but I wanted the gold

medal and expected it. But it was not to be. You have been a gold

medal performer for us. Thank you for providing such fantastic

entertainment as well. Well done.

STUDIO: he might be disappointed, but still a huge credit to Team GB.

There is Joe Joyce collecting his silver medal a short while ago. That

takes Britain's medal count to 67, the most successful Olympic Games

that Britain have ever had. 27 gold medals, 23 silver medals and 17

bronze medals. There is still one gold medal up for grabs. Who will

take those final honours? It is looking good for the USA. Let us

rejoin Serbia and the USA in the basketball gold medal match.

Serbia has an up -- uphill battle. They ran away with the 2nd quarter

and have opened up a 23 point lead. -- the USA ran away with it in the

2nd quarter. It is currently 52-29. The simple message from the United

States would have been to give the ball to Kevin Durant. And the simple

message for Serbia is stop Kevin Durant. That is what is going on, he

is completely leading the way. If the United States keep firing, he

will bring it home. -- that is the message for Serbia.

Kevin Durant hit five of eight from the 3-point line, and has 24 points

in the first half. Serbia have to improve their shooting. Offensively

things are going OK. DeMarcus Cousins had 11 points and

12 rebounds for the Americans. Klay Thompson is the only person

otherwise over four, with seven. Teodosic is the man for Serbia. He

should have about ten assists by now, but they didn't finish it off.

Raduljica has three fouls. Anthony hits a three. 55-29. Vladimir Stimac

is the other big man. Andrei Jordan -- DeAndre Jordan is guarding him.

Good pass to Djokovic. Vladimir Stimac had his back to it. I think

he took his eye off the block, he only had about one second to go. He

was really casual. Anthony and Durant. A fadeaway from about 22.

Teodosic comes down with the ball. Bogdanovich, again he's looking to

work. Jordan watching the cutters come Bogdanovich back into Stimac.

Very casual, knocked it out of his hands. Right now, the Serbians are

very confused. They're looking slow. They need to pick up the pace here.

Only two on the clock, it will be a bastion of catch and shoot. Kyrie

Irving was involved in a tie-up as they got down the ball. With a

minute and a half gone, joke it comes out. -- Djokovic. Kalinic is

on four personal fouls as well. Irving with the spin. Misses the

shot. Jordan goes for rebound. Fights his way out. Quickly up to

Markovic. Open look. He misses, and Irving misses. That was a little bit

longer than used to. Stimac and Jordan getting tied up behind the

ball, but no calls from the referees. Anthony, that was way off

to put the ball in Bogdanovic's hands, try to get him some shots. It

is confidence building for Serbia just to get the baskets because they

weren't shooting well in the first half. Irving, and Bogdanovic is

following up on him. Here it is to Jordan. This is the kind of thing,

great movement before Thompson missing a three. But if they keep

playing like that they're pretty much unstoppable because the players

are so good individually. Raduljica is back in the game now. Durant

quarter. Serbia had a massive 3rd quarter against the United States in

the group stage, but they need to get a lower margin. At the moment

passing, moving. The Serbian defence intensity has dropped remarkably.

A lot of people are looking at home saying, if DeAndre Jordan can do

that, why can't I? If I wear the US volleyball coach I would be going to

Jordan and failing, I think you have a future in this sport! -- and

sailing. I think he's done well. Some changes in the line-up for

Serbia, trying to ignite some offence. 64-37. A clever play by

Nedovic, that is what Serbia need more of. Lowry is overplayed, he

gets the past to Durant. It is nice plain Nedovic because you

know Jordan is coming out so you have to put the extra arc on the

ball. He takes these can fit and drops it through the hoop. It is

Serbia are working world defensively again. Cousins, who offensive

contribution has been big, looks more impressive but it takes away

the intimidating effect that Jordan has when he's in the paint and

think he enjoys being on the bench more. I think he enjoys being on

like it's getting away from them. That's a technical. Anthony simply

are aware. If you've seen any game of Olympic basketball up to here,

you understand. As soon as you say something. Here is what we didn't

see. If you do that, you get the key automatically. He's going to get the

earlier lying on the floor, wanted a foul, didn't get it, so he literally

out playing well, exactly what you wanted him to do. Execution has been

poor. The plan would like it was working earlier, if they had kept

going. Nedovic could not take it the rest

calibre, he takes the game and controls it. You have got to just

accept it and try to do the best you can. What we have seen is that

they're outside shooting was not effective. If you try to adjust,

game, Kevin Durant. The shooting has just not been good

enough, without Kevin Durant it would still be the United States

winning this game. The US defence has broken up the passing game, stop

the red that Serbia had against Australia, where they were knocking

down shots, but they were doing it because they were always passing it

and getting good open shots. Even when they have been getting them,

they missed them. Cousins will not miss that. Some crowd pleaser is!

That will be a Serbian ball. You wonder how much is a confidence

thing with the shooting. When you start missing two, three, four in a

row, you're lacking confidence and then taking shots when you're not

ready, and all these factors come into it. It is really tough. Talk

about destroying confidence. Kevin Durant, his first three of the half,

his second! And he misses both. And again it doesn't fall. Nedovic

took it from end to end. That was the whistle. Kevin Durant

men's handball gold, and stop France getting their third successive

title. This is the first medal for Denmark for the men's handball.

There is one gold medal up for grabs. The USA have not been

defeated since 2006. They are looking for the

Serbia keep possession with 16 seconds on the shot clock. Serbia

just have to keep going, not worry about this quarter. Just keep

playing and do as well as you can. They have played brilliantly until

this point. The position area was in the favour

of the United States. -- possession. Desperation from Serbia, but it is

great to see that they are fighting to the end. They need a miracle. It

would. You need the United States to fall completely apart. And hitting

all your shots. Cousins is back out for the last

quarter. Kevin Durant misses the 3-point

touch, and the US missed another. Jordan is doing the Babybird again!

That is the third time. He did not realise there would be so many to do

it with. Jordan telling them what he wants.

Kevin Durant is coming off and celebrating with his team because he

knows they are close now. A remarkable performance, Kevin

Durant. George wanted this badly. The United States want to put on a

show for the final quarter. He's an extraordinary player. They

are just not finishing it off. I wonder how many assists he would

have had if they had the shots. When it rains, it pours. And right

now it is a typhoon, monsoon for Serbia. Cyclone hurricane in other

areas. Teodosic has had a great Olympics. I would make him the point

guard in my Olympic team. He has been magnificent for Serbia. It has

been great to watch him play at this level. Not everyone gets to see him

playing all the time in his league. And this man as well. I would have

Pau Gasol centre. And the Argentinian at the power forward.

The only question would be through the shooting guard would be. There

are a lot of contenders. Bogdanovich was standing around. The

other Bogdanovic might be a contender. Consistency is hard at

the Olympic Games. It is tough, playing every couple of days, at

high level with intensity. Even Kevin Durant had a couple of off

days. It is tough. That is true. One of the Lithuanian players. Yes,

they started so strongly. And the point guard from Argentina.

Almost 40 point lead for the United States. DeMarcus Cousins has come

off. It is one of those games where you

get a player hitting the basket, and then the one who passed him the ball

gets this herbal. -- the foul. The US has gone very cold now. Lowry

misses. I think the thing is Serbia haven't really improved their

shooting since that quarter, so they can afford to go cold. That hit the

the US. One of the great mysteries the US is how Draymond Green hasn't

came out, he's still out there now. It is Green who is such a big part

of the Golden State Warriors this last season, he has not got close.

To play with Klay Thompson as one would have made a lot of sense from

18 perspective. -- from a team perspective. We still haven't seen

Barnes as well. He has had very limited time here. You suspect he

will come on towards the end. You hope everybody gets a chance in a

game like this. It's gotten a bit sloppy, as you can tell from the

common Terry! We have got a bit more relaxed as well. It is not edge of

your seat stuff, it is really showtime. It's almost like Serbia

are just running out the clock. The US are trying to put up as many

points as they can. Or as spectacularly as they can. DeRozan

with the nice jumper. Lowry takes the rebound. Lowry

coming down the middle. There is the hoop the crowd wanted. DeRozan did

it with the left hand! Just tapped it in. I think they're just excited

DeAndre Jordan got to do another move. It wasn't even that good

though! The benchers going crazy. There's the finish. It looks like

Jordan paid for his ticket to watch the game. He's acting like a fan!

It's great to see, he adding plenty of entertainment from the bench.

Look how excited the coaches are on the bench. This is the question now

for the United States, moving forward, it looks like they will

hold on here. The Serbian coach is still trying to rally his team which

is great to see. For the United States, it is moving forward. I

think they have a great coach coming in. Antonio Spurs, a brilliant

basketball mind. How does he change this team? They haven't dominated,

even though the dominating in the gold-medal match, they haven't been

as dominant as people would expect. My point would be that they didn't

play great defence for most. This has been their best defensive game

by far. When the goal was tight, they were disrupting passing rights.

Often in many games it has consisted of people standing around watching

people shoot threes. They haven't been the excellent 3-point shooting

team that they were supposed to be. No one has really been a consistent

driller of 3-point shots. Those are the things they will try to work on.

Think about it, the presence inside has been good from Jordan and

Cousins. But do you try to go with a true power forward, for example? Do

you try to go with two Biggs? What do you count on the fact that teams

that have two talented big men like Serbia aren't going to put them both

out at the same time if one has to defend Carmelo Anthony or Kevin

Durant away from the basket. Serbia have shown that if you work as a

group, their players are national superstars, but they have shown that

if you work as the group, if you have a good setup and have prepared

well with good coaching and some smart players, you can take it far.

They haven't done it in this one, but they certainly took the United

States all the way in the group stages. If more teams start playing

like that then they will really push the United States. It is not the

dominant basketball force that this game is barely showing. What we also

need to remember is that in the basketball countries, the former

Yugoslav countries, Spain, Argentina and to a lesser extent Brazil,

Greece and Turkey, the players tend to come along in groups that go up

and play together. They make each other better. Because they're mostly

small countries, they can't depend on having a steady influx of top

talent. They really have to develop it. Each generation takes time to

develop. We have seen in the case of Argentina and Spain that that

generation is reaching the end of its run. Serbia and Croatia have

shown they have a generation coming through. Croatia has a young team.

Serbia is not that old. France still have some good players. Simonovic

didn't see that! He should have looked at the screens. He was behind

a pass he was not even aware of! Serbia started well. It is tough for

them now, coming towards the end of this. They put up a good show at the

Olympic Games. That game against Australia was just extraordinary.

Maybe if they played like that the whole way against the United States,

they would have pushed them. And take nothing away from Serbia. They

were silver medallists at the last World Championships. They will be

silver medallist here at the Olympics. Semifinals of the Euro

basket. There was a lull for Serbia after a few years after Yugoslavia

made the final at the previous Olympics. But they are back on the

Olympic theme. Bogdanovic can't make the opening three. This has been the

story of the game, even when they have had the opening shots Serbia

haven't been able to take advantage of it. This has got to be one of the

lowest scoring fourth quarters. The intensity level has fallen

considerably for both teams. That is the coach of the tournament, no

doubt. He has been brilliant. His game plans have been fantastic. It

was tough going for Serbia in their group stage. They dropped a couple

of games and they have done remarkably well to pick themselves

up. Macvan has had a good tournament. They brought him in when

they needed shooting and he has had a good work.

Djokovic. The Denver player has been virtually invisible in this contest.

have been spectacular, Serbia. As a team they have been fantastic.

They've worked really hard to gather and they even outscored United

States from the bench coming into this one. That one thrown away by

Bogdanovic. Bogdanovic picks it up and there will be a foul and Lowry.

The Serbian bench were really impressed, great stuff from Bogdan

Bogdanovic. He's a natural player. He's only 24, but he needs more

consistency. He's not the kind of guy who is carrying this team. He

had sometime in the NBA. It didn't work out for him. NBA teams would be

looking again in the future. I think he was 27th overall. From Phoenix,

and played in Sacramento. He has got the potential there. Two from 11

from the floor. That really shows you the trouble that Dubya have had.

He and Jokic averaged almost 18 points a game. -- the trouble that

Serbia have had. They have done really well against Croatia as well.

There is a three from Nedovic. Teodosic is only 29. Many other

members are still only in their 20s. They will be back in later contests.

The rebound to Anthony. 15 is his number, apparently. But he can't

wear it on the New York Knicks because they retired it in honour of

the Black Moses. You can't argue with that. I think he will have to

pick a different number. There comes Carmelo Anthony. He was on that team

that lost in Athens in 2004. The only player on the US team who was

there. Who's to say he would be back again? It's possible. He wants to

get a record. He had a bronze in 2004. A gold in 2012. This will be

his third gold medal here today. That's a tough shot! DeRozan with

the falling away jumper. Nedovic has come alive now in the last few

minutes. He's a talented young player. Like you're saying, there is

a lot of good young players on this team. Anthony, the overhead for the

United States. A couple of years ago I think Markovic was playing for the

Warriors. Just making the jump from European basketball to the NBA,

sometimes it seems a bit different. Sometimes they're missing something.

The technical quality is fantastic. Maybe a physical element to their

game is what they're looking for in the NBA. But their matching it in a

number of occasions. This just isn't one of those occasions. You also

have cultural differences. You can make a lot of money playing European

basketball. Sometimes the culture is just more suited. The last minute

now. 94-64. Harrison Barnes with the left-hand.

96-64. Followers and Jimmy Butler. The guys

are getting looser and looser! They're having a great time now, the

United States. The gold medal is pretty much all wrapped up now. But

Serbia should still be proud. They've really been fantastic. I

don't think anyone expected it. The team to face the United States in

the gold-medal game, I don't think Serbia were really amongst the

favourites even though they went to the World Championships with them in

2014. Your absolutely right. The Serbian win over Australia was not a

huge upset, it was one of the surprises of these games. One reason

is that many of these players aren't as well known. Australia have six

players in the NBA. Serbia, as a unit, they'd been fantastic and

shown what it means to work as a team and basketball. Just letting

the clock ran down. The Serbians aren't going to defend. The US would

turn it over on the shot clock. And that will bring the game to an end.

It will bring the game to the 31st -- it will bring the XXXI Olympiad

to a sporting close. Serbia Ali the United States have beaten Serbia.

STUDIO: a commanding performance from the US claiming their 15th

Olympic basketball title. Heading into the Olympics there was

criticism that they were bringing a lesser team. A lot of the big NBA

stars pulled out through fatigue and injury. In the end it didn't really

matter, did it? After the football gold, the one at

the top of the Brazilian 's most wanted was the men's volleyball.

Last night we saw the Arena sold out. Today we saw the little

Maracana, it was passed up for Brazil to take on Italy. -- it was

packed for Brazil to take on Italy. Mild-mannered Souza was letting rip.

Here is trouble for Italy. It is the wrong side of the net.

Brazil take the point. It didn't get through. And I set before they can

close your hands towards the net. When I saw that from Souza, it came

to mind the Brazilian player who could hit the ball like that every

time. If you can keep doing that, there will be real trouble for

Italy. A standing start. The onslaught is relenting. That one pin

bowling around. He had a little discussion with his

coach. He wants every ball right now. Here's a man with a plan,

wanting to make sure he gets a gold medal. He has spent his life working

towards this moment and he wants to make sure that he takes it. If he

does not, he has given it every single thing he can to try to

achieve it. The do not leave anything in the locker room. 10-9.

That is what the coaches wanting. If they can re-establish the medals, it

becomes an interesting battle between them.

That looked as if it was heading over the net, but he was ready and

waiting. Anything Italy can do, Brazil will respond. And if you run

a medal against you, you will run it back against the other team. You

want to keep the pressure on both sides. You start edging out, but you

can't, you have to stay so you're ready and waiting. So you know that

you have one-on-one. Juantorena delivered. Yes, that is a

dead. He was putting it into an area. He couldn't believe it did not

come back up. Throwing themselves at everything.

Zaytsev tried again, and the only people cheering at the Brazilian

do not play to what you think you have seen. That was cracking. It pin

balled around the Italian team, but everyone linked in, and it dug back

over. Has that caught the hero of the player as it went past? If so,

it is a touch. It does not count. If you're here touches the net, it is

not a touch. It did not touch anything or anyone, except the

outside of the court. So Italy have the point.

That got a little bit tight. The double combination of de Souza gave

them no room. That is frustrating. You can understand it if it is a

jump serve, the way they are hitting the ball. But when it is jump flight

serve, but doesn't Gwen. -- go in. The perfect way to make up for it.

Lanza knew he made a mistake. But they are back in the game, and his

missed serve is forgotten. Brazil are using their 5-5 serve.

Zaytsev. He finds a gap between Wallace and Lucas and exploits it.

Sometimes you go for power rather than a tip over. Frustration is

building among the Italian team. Brazil have not let them hit top

get their middle running, but at the moment it Brazil who are making all
