Some of them cannot get tickets for Wimbledon and this is their chance

to see top-class tennis in London. Here we are again. We are getting

used to this. We certainly are. We were hoping for sunny weather.

White-macro forecast is supposed to be good, isn't it? We just have to

keep our fingers crossed. You have to feel for the players, they were

just about to walk out onto court and now they are back to the

players' lounge. I have not ever remember this many interruptions.

The players have been very patient. The standard of play has been

remarkable considering the court has been at times damp, there has been

wind every day. I think the standard of play, we have had fantastic match

considering how bad conditions have been. It has been remarkable,

really. You have to feel for the tournament director. Yesterday it

rained constantly. We only got ten minutes of tennis. He had to make

the decision to play the semifinals simultaneously. It meant Lleyton

Hewitt and Marin Cilic moved to court number one. Hewitt was not

happy. He was very unhappy. I walk past last night and there were

probably 100 spectators. There was a dead atmosphere, which is

unfortunate for these guys, who played so well. There was nothing he

could do. They could not have put Murray out there. There would have

been chaos. They got the short straw. Today, we are looking forward

not just to the final, but there is a special match called Rally Against

Cancer for the Royal Marsden Hospital. It has been organised by

Ross Hutchins, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's's lymphoma. It is

going to be a one said shootout. It is winner takes it all. Tim Henman

and Andy Murray take on Ivan Lendl and Tomas Berdych. There are Tim

Henman and Andy Murray, probably talking tactics. It is a big match

for Andy Murray this one. Tim Henman is saying, take over when you get

the chance! What is the over-under on how many times Andy Murray is

going to hate that guy in the guts with a ground stroke! I was talking

to Ivan Lendl this morning. He said, if Andy Murray hates me, I

will have him doing laps at seven o'clock tomorrow morning. He said he

Henman arrived this morning I said, you are here early, and he said, I

had to sort out grass court shoes. Prepared as ever! We will see some

volleys today, won't we? Of course we will. Tim and Ivan Lendl can

still hit the ball great. There will be some good tennis. Ivan has

brought back his grasscourt choose from years ago, when he retired. He

was trying to work out which was older, his shoes or Andy Murray -

Andy Murray is three years older! They are probably illegal! It is

going to be a lot of fun and it is raising money for an important

cause. There is a host of comedians coming along and restaurants in as

well -- Boris Johnson as well. That is the match later on this

afternoon. Of course, it is weather permitting. We are hoping that the

final will very soon. Andy Murray came through yesterday against

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. That hear his thoughts. -- lets hear his thoughts.

I have come in here, not worried about getting the matches, just

getting used to playing on grass. It was essential for me to get matches

this week and I am glad to have got through to the final. How much of a

springboard is that, is it a relief? It was important for me. I have had

some tough matches. I played Nicolas Mahut and managed to get through,

and I lost against him last year. It was important for me, if I wanted to

do well at Wimbledon. I needed to get some matches through here. By

getting to the final and getting five or six days practice for

Wimbledon after the tournament, I should be ready. What about waiting,

how do you keep focused and ready? You never know when you are going to

be called out and then things change. It was tough for everybody

involved. It was the same for me and Tsonga, but also the people coming

to watch. There is no perfect solution. We had 45 minutes from

when we were told we were going to change courts, and you just do your

warm up and get ready to go. And the table football? I think that was in

case of a weather cancellation. you won that match? Yes.You have

got a great record against Marin Cilic. I have had some tough matches

with him, I lost against him in the US Open last year. I managed to come

through that one. He is playing very well. He has played a lot of matches

lately. He is defending champion. If he plays well, he will be confident.

He beat Berdych and Hewitt back-to-back. What does the U.S.

Open tell you about what could be exploited in this game? Every player

goes through matches where they are serving for the match, or there are

big leads and they do not get them. It is part of the sport. Sometimes,

you get nervous, other times you don't. The U.S. Open is huge. That

was probably why I got a little bit nervous that day. How close to match

fitness do you feel? I feel good. I have played five days in a row, so

it has been a lot for my first week back, but my body has held up fairly

well. I have been pleased with how it has gone. I have had a good

week's practice. I am doing all of the rights rehab and exercise for my

back, so I should be in good shape. To win would be a great launchpad,

wouldn't it? It would be, but I have also played well here in the past

and not done so well at Wimbledon. I have also played badly here and done

really well at Wimbledon. There is no real reason for that, so long as

this week, I give it my best shot in the final. It would be great to win

the event. If not, it has been a very productive week for me.

Interesting point that Andy Murray makes, but it doesn't really matter

if you win here. This year is different, because he has had the

month away and he has needed the matches. He has had them. Whether he

wins or loses makes no difference at all to his chances at Wimbledon. I

was impressed with his match against Nicolas Mahut. He had not played in

a month or so and he came out and looked so imposing. There was almost

an aura around him. He looked fit and strong and was moving well, and

was hitting the ball sharply. Whatever he did in that of time it

served him well. He has had a couple of times where he has wobbled, once

against Benjamin Becker. Yesterday there was a moment when he was a set

down as three points down. I think he took his foot off the gas.

Against Tsonga, it can be a big storm to weather. For the first

set, Tsonga was serving at 70% and Murray was just hanging in there,

and then he got a chance and took it. I think when he was down a set,

it was more to do with Tsonga's brilliance. I think you did well to

They can't be right. We have become experts on this week! Chris Kermode

really got away with it yesterday by swapping one of the semifinals to

court on and putting Andy Murray on Centre Court. -- on Court One. That

was the right decision. I think we will get away with this today. The

people who are really nervous will be the likes of Michael McIntyre,

Jonathan Ross and Sir Richard Branson. They will be getting more

and more uptight. It is not that far away from Wimbledon, but at least

they have the roof. That starts a week on Monday. A week on Sunday, we

school. So did I. They are really good in the house. Then we take them

young kid that had a great feel for the game. He had a few issues about

his attitude and his temperament at times. We have been able to see his

phenomenal talent develop. At this time of year, I know what he is

going through. I have always felt a little protective of him. I would

not necessarily say he listens to ever think that I say, but I have

always enjoyed his company. When you are in a social environment or on

the practice court, you get to see a different side to him. He is relaxed

and has a good sense of humour. When he is out there playing his matches,

it is business. You were practising with Ivan Lendl as well? I wanted a

boost to my confidence! He is brilliant. He still hit the ball

great. Were both hit it OK, it is when we have to run that the

problems start! Fingers crossed that the weather does improve because we

look forward to getting out there and later. You said you practised

once last month with Greg and once with Andy. Talk us through this.

was a bit disappointed! I don't really play that much tennis any

more, but I have not played on a grass court for a long time. These

courts are incredible. It was incredible and I enjoyed it. If Andy

I go to the gym fairly regularly and feel like I am in good shape. I can

backhand drills. I was absolutely cooked. Exhausted. Then he went on

to play for another hour. You kind of forget the physical demands on

these top players. It puts it in perspective of why it was a good

decision for him not to go to Paris. If his back wasn't right, you just

can't compete. He has to go into the French Open believing he can win

seven matches, not just a couple. It was tough for him to miss Roland

Garros, but it is important to be in good shape for this and Wimbledon.

You are playing with Andy Murray up against Ivan Lendl and Tomas

Berdych. Will that be a grudge match between Ivan Lendl and Andy Murray?

There are some bets being placed about how many times they can hit

each other. I think there will be a lot of target practice. I will speak

to Tomas Berdych politely and ask him not to hit it at me because

nobody hit it harder than him. Nobody quite knows how the match

will unfold. I think there will definitely be a competitive element

to it. At the end of the day, for the rally against cancer and for

Ross Hutchins, it will be a brilliant day. I am looking forward

to that. And I am looking forward to the celebrities getting out on the

Everyone is thinking that this belongs to Andy Murray, but Marin

Cilic is great as well. I played against Cilic several years ago. He

little. I am not sure what has held him back. He was in the top ten

When he has had an opportunity to really blast into the upper echelons

of the game, he has not taken those opportunities. Today is a challenge

for him. Andy Murray is a very difficult match up. The serve of

Cilic, whilst it is not dominant, such as Tsonga or Tomas Berdych, it

is what he wins points from. Andy Murray is one of the best returners

in the game. It is a big test for Cilic. Can he hold serve regularly?

We are hoping the players will be on the courts and. Some famous faces in

the crowd and some of them will get to play later. Sir Richard. How good

are you? I love playing. I have played for a long time. I have

enjoyed celebrity matches before. It is an honour to be invited to play.

What is your best weapon and what is your weakest point? I am a good

negotiator. I have brought some tickets along for the judge. I am an

average tennis player. I thoroughly enjoy the game. Do you use one hand

or two hands for backhand? On hand. Old school. You have a tennis school

on your island. Last year, we had Djokovic and John McEnroe. This

year, we have medal coming. Just do some namedropping! -- we have Rafael

Nadal coming. They can have five days where they can have a good

time. It is interesting that we keep talking about player numbers in

sport in this country. At this time of year, Wimbledon inspires people

for a short time. I know you are trying to do something to get people

to play tennis in this country. There is a couple of things we are

trying to do. We are opening up our clubs, so anyone who wants to go

over the next three weeks without having to pay can learn how to play

tennis. The other thing which I have had a passion for is to try to push

handicapped tennis in. You have a handicap system in golf, but not in

tennis. That means you can only play people of your standard. We are

giving people some points so that they can play on a level playing

field. As a result, a lot more people can play. Lovely to talk to

you. We will look out for that one-handed backhand later. It was

lovely to see people enjoying tennis on our way to Queen's Club this

morning. That was before the rain. It is dry and we have heard that the

players will come out in two minutes' time. The line judges and

ball boys and ball girls are making their way out just now. It looks

like we are all go for the final of the AEGON Championships. It has been

a long wait, I'll long week of watching the weather. But we have a

really good final to look forward to. Peter is still with me. Top a

little about Andy Murray. He has all the matches behind him that he wants

now. For players, it is about the title and the trophy. Absolutely.

Every title is important only to. Especially this one. Andy Murray

lives ten minutes down the road. It is important for him to win this. I

don't think anybody could imagine that he will give less than 100%

today. People want the wind. Here saying he has had some wobbles but

that is because he has missed the matches. In tennis, to not compete

for a whole month, you get nervous when the games get tight. Exactly.

And it's not because he has chosen to work on training, there was a

period they are pretty did not lift a finger. You come back and timing

is a little off and you change surface and, you know, you don't

know if you will react the same way when you come back as you did before

you stopped. I am sure he will feel a lot more comfortable than last

week. Whatever happens today, to have a week just to practice and

fine tune before Wimbledon? Exactly. I am sure he will be so. I am sure

his back is stiff and sore. It will take a few days where he does

nothing at all. Then he will get back into it and ensure he does not

overwork himself. There is Marin Cilic with a keen tennis player who

is 11 years old. His name is Oliver. Well done to him. A big cheer for

Andy Murray. Such support here this week. He is being led out by George

Jackson, an eight-year-old who loves his tennis as well. Proud moment for

him to be with his hero. And immoral -- Andy Murray idolised Andre Agassi

when he was this age. I don't know if I had a great idle. I liked Stan

Smith. Andy Murray is looking around. He is staring up at the sky

because there is a very dark cloud heading over Queen's Club. It's not

ideal. It's not great for the players. But, you know, we have to

try to play this. They want to get the tournament finished. It is not

bad. The conditions are a lot more benign. Can we have a picture with

the kids? We will have a picture after that as well. If you have to

challenge, please say something. If it is raining, just wait, do not

leave immediately. Any questions? That is it. Go to both sides for the

seen far too many umbrellas this week. This is certainly not tennis

weather, or June weather. Let's hope the summer arrives in time for

Wimbledon. It is amazing, you do not see Andy Murray dwarfed very often.

Amazing, but Cilic is quite a bit taller. In the women's game, the

average height is five foot 11. was it in your day? About five foot

three? It is a totally different game and a totally different

physique that you need. Who is your money on? Andy Murray, surprise,

surprise. Time for us to sit back and enjoy it. Let's handover to the

with his coach last year. He said that he listened to too many people

and suffered a drop in confidence and ranking as a result of that. He

is regaining ranking at the top of the game. The head groundsman,

looking on anxiously. I have a feeling that the team are about to

come on. There is normally a staff of eight. Perhaps all of them are

going to pull the cover over in a few minutes' time. I think the

groundsman has this exception of family members on the team. -- has a

number of family members on the team. Even if this is only a

warm-up, this is useful for the players. There are always nerves.

You want to win, don't you? In 2005, he played here and then

Wimbledon afterwords, where he lost. He has had a good year. The match

against Nicolas Mahut, his first match this week, was a useful one,

against a Frenchman who really does know the art of playing on a grass

court. Murray came through that, but he lost to the same man last year.

He has been looking like a champion all week. He has played with such

alertness and enthusiasm. It was only when he was a set down to

Tsonga that you thought it might not be enough, but he came through the

match. That is our potential Wimbledon champion. I do not know

whether I would put him favourite, I don't know. With the sort of form he

has cut, favourite, what do you think? He is certainly right up

there. I would marginally make Djokovic the slight favourite, but I

think Murray would be a close second. Certainly, this week will

have done him a world of good, given the matches he has got under his

belt. He is still not sure, he keeps looking at the weather. I do not

think he is keen to be out here. These sort of conditions are tough.

It has been like this whole week, so is nothing new. There is the

sponsor's umbrella. They have signed up to British tennis for a lengthy

amount of time. There is Andy Murray's mother. She does not go to

all of his tournament any more. She really knows the game. She has got

to be out watching the women as well, going out to tournament 's,

doing the circuit. She is talking to her future daughter-in-law. Are we

ratcheting up the pressure on Andy Murray? Come on, Andy! Whenever you

see him wearing one of these almost spray on shirts, you think, you

remember when he turned up in 2005? He was willowy. He had such a busy

week back then. He fell over in the corner in a heap. To make him have

cramps now, you have got to work them hard. I think in Florida, with

his match against David Ferrer, I think David Ferrer had the cramp,

which shows Murray's fitness. looks like it might be on hold. The

rain is just spitting. You look at it, you think, why cant they play?

Shall we do our umbrella thing? Fight me an interesting umbrella! --

find me. A Queen's Club umbrella is �25, I think that is quite

impressive. Very snazzy.There is also adds of celebrity spotting

going on today. The President's room, absolutely full on the top

tier. There is the East stand, very open and exposed. That is the more

traditional bin liner covering, isn't it? Oh, that one is going to

take off! Well, this has been the story of the whole week. It has just

been difficult. Once again, the standard of play, considering the

conditions this week, has been phenomenal. Some of the tennis

yesterday, with the Tsonga-Murray match, was breathtaking. When you

think they had been waiting so long, it was class tennis. And Mahut

-Murray, the first round was exceptional. Del Potro has played

well, Cilic has been phenomenal, Lleyton Hewitt has been outstanding.

It has been a credit to the players, getting out here. It is a big prize,

winning Queen's, they have gone out in dodgy conditions. They could have

eased off a little bit and no one would have said too much about it,

but they have gone at it 110%, and we have been rewarded with excellent

matches. It is a multisports complex. There is plenty you can do

indoors. Do you remember the wooden courts? The roof was no good, it

used to leak in the winter. You could slip. We got kicked off once

in a semi final of the nationals I club members -- by club members who

had booked the court. Cannot play your national tournament when we

have the men's doubles! That is the referee on the right, he has 25

sports. Let's have a listen. I think we can hang fire a little bit. They

Club, and five miles south of here you will find Wimbledon. The
