Is this the winning try? This is the try that gets the game.

:00:34.:00:46.

He is on the angle. You can tell he's happy. And Saracens have put

:00:47.:00:58.

paid to the pressure. They have won the 20 13th cup -- the 2013 cup.

:00:59.:01:08.

It was a nail-biting finish to the final last year. A representation

:01:09.:01:18.

from Glasgow Warriors this year. Also expect a strong showing from

:01:19.:01:21.

the home side. They are playing for this, the oldest trophy in Sevens

:01:22.:01:29.

rugby. This really is a tournament that has produced some wonderful

:01:30.:01:30.

memories. He's going to make it! The crowd is

:01:31.:01:51.

on its feet. Some fantastic names and magic

:01:52.:02:55.

memories. Who will write their names in the history books in the Melrose

:02:56.:03:04.

Sevens 2014? The town turns out in force as ever. It is a carnival

:03:05.:03:10.

atmosphere here. Fancy dress isn't compulsory but it is expected for

:03:11.:03:14.

many. Rock stars and the Holland Road Trotters are here but also some

:03:15.:03:20.

world-class rugby plays. The USA Tigers and the Glasgow Warriors. It

:03:21.:03:29.

is a very strong Warriors team. And the fans will look for dissing Jones

:03:30.:03:41.

and Matawalu. This man can run 100 yards very quickly. He is delighted

:03:42.:03:45.

to be here as I. It's a beautiful day at the Greenyards with the sun

:03:46.:03:50.

shining, and we've seen some amazing rugby already. We are on air till

:03:51.:03:54.

7pm. Alongside me, two guys who have played and commented for a few years

:03:55.:03:59.

in this competition, Scott Hastings and Andy Nichol. This is just such a

:04:00.:04:05.

joyous place, it started here, it is all about the Greenyards. It's the

:04:06.:04:12.

highlight of the Scottish rugby calendar. It is not just an amateur

:04:13.:04:18.

tournament, it is transferred to the professional year. It is amateurs

:04:19.:04:22.

play against the professionals. Over the last few years, the guest teams

:04:23.:04:25.

have been the strong side and have gone on to win it, and I don't think

:04:26.:04:30.

there will be a difference today. We will see some great rugby this

:04:31.:04:33.

afternoon. Andy, you've picked up this cup for your team, great

:04:34.:04:39.

memories of coming here, I'm sure. My mother and father used to come

:04:40.:04:43.

down here, we used to support the teams. We probably didn't watch much

:04:44.:04:52.

rugby, but it was such a pilgrimage to come here and win the

:04:53.:04:56.

tournament, in 1996. Probably that winning medal was probably one of my

:04:57.:05:00.

most prized possessions in my rugby career. It is a fine thing indeed.

:05:01.:05:08.

These guys are world-class names. The fastest man in world rugby, lots

:05:09.:05:16.

of people excited to see Isles. He is in the pink, he has got speed,

:05:17.:05:23.

but has he got a turn and a step? Yes, my goodness me. So fast. Hang

:05:24.:05:30.

on a second. Heavens above. That is not so good. And then carrying the

:05:31.:05:35.

ball in one hand. His team-mates are saying, never mind. I can imagine

:05:36.:05:42.

the crowd giving him hell. He had all the time in the world. But you

:05:43.:05:47.

have to put the ball down. If he gets over the try line today, I will

:05:48.:05:51.

guarantee you will see him put the ball down quickly. We have seen so

:05:52.:05:56.

many people here, so many players, but that try, the referees are

:05:57.:06:01.

suggesting perhaps that should have been allowed, what do you think? If

:06:02.:06:06.

we went to the television replay, we have the benefit of watching it five

:06:07.:06:10.

times. The ball doesn't have to be under control. The ball was knocked

:06:11.:06:18.

forward. You could award it as a try. 99% of referees would have

:06:19.:06:24.

disallowed that. Would you agree? Yes, but I am so excited to see him

:06:25.:06:28.

play. He's a great signing for Glasgow. He has been signed for the

:06:29.:06:34.

fifteens, but with the pace he has, he is tailor-made for this game. He

:06:35.:06:39.

will be electric this afternoon. We have a BT to show you in a couple of

:06:40.:06:45.

minutes. I spoke to Isles and asked not only about coming here to the

:06:46.:06:49.

Greenyards but also about his time in Scotland and how he is enjoying

:06:50.:06:51.

it so far. You have been in Scotland for a few

:06:52.:06:55.

weeks, have you been enjoying the experience? Has been a blessing with

:06:56.:07:00.

great team-mates, and I am walking around, seeing the place, and it's

:07:01.:07:06.

fun. And, of course, playing the Melrose Sevens today, the home of

:07:07.:07:10.

Sevens rugby, were you aware of Melrose as a place and the history

:07:11.:07:16.

of the game? Not at all. My team it's invited me on it, and I see how

:07:17.:07:22.

big and important it is. Obviously, you've played Sevens rugby in the

:07:23.:07:26.

USA, what do you expect today? The same, it is going to be fun,

:07:27.:07:29.

exciting, tough opponents, but we have a great team, and we will share

:07:30.:07:35.

what we can do. A lot of people are excited you have signed for Glasgow

:07:36.:07:39.

and we have seen you play over the last few weeks. Do you feel the

:07:40.:07:43.

weight of that expectation? I do, but I stay humble. I know what I can

:07:44.:07:50.

do, if I work hard, work towards the team, and we work together, it'll be

:07:51.:07:55.

easy. Have you been impressed by the skill levels of your team-mates?

:07:56.:07:59.

Yes, very good, very skilful guys. They have great talent. You are the

:08:00.:08:05.

fastest guy, who was closest to you? I don't know. I think there is

:08:06.:08:14.

somebody from an American team. But some of the Scottish players are

:08:15.:08:19.

fast themselves. We have Lee Jones, and other guys as well. We will see.

:08:20.:08:23.

Look forward to seeing you this afternoon. Thank you, God bless.

:08:24.:08:31.

Action got under way at 11:30am, here is round one so far. Stirling

:08:32.:08:38.

County are out, Stewarts Melville also out. Dundee playing with three

:08:39.:08:45.

young schoolboys were knocked out. Howick, it was a comfortable win for

:08:46.:08:49.

them. So far in round two, Jedforest

:08:50.:08:58.

against Ayr, that is ongoing. Here is a fellow who can run 100

:08:59.:09:22.

metres in 10.13. He would have made the semifinals of the Olympics with

:09:23.:09:30.

that kind of time. Up against the boys from Currie, they couldn't

:09:31.:09:34.

catch him. He held the ball into hands, not bad at all.

:09:35.:09:39.

Trinbago, a development side, let's join that match live.

:09:40.:09:51.

This is the match on. We will join our commentary team. The sartorial

:09:52.:10:01.

elegance of Bill Johnson and you we're. The Trinbago side, good to

:10:02.:10:08.

see Melrose always having teams coming, invitational side and

:10:09.:10:13.

developmental sides as well. It is hugely important. You get into the

:10:14.:10:29.

rhythm. All the guest sides come in into the second round for the first

:10:30.:10:33.

answer sometimes it is a bit a risk. These guys might not have played a

:10:34.:10:36.

lot of rugby. It's all about getting into your rhythm, playing. Lung

:10:37.:10:42.

buster, trying to get the heartbeat up. But four of this team were out,

:10:43.:10:50.

this Trinbago team, they were out for the pre-qualifying competition.

:10:51.:10:54.

So the players have experience but this is all about building the game

:10:55.:10:58.

in the islands. And they have been put under pressure by the

:10:59.:11:06.

Boroughmuir team. Just like Currie work by the Glasgow team. The

:11:07.:11:12.

Apprentice just like the Currie team. You need handling, passing and

:11:13.:11:24.

speed. You need people to win the ball, first and foremost, which is

:11:25.:11:28.

the balance that the Warriors have. They have some physical forwards

:11:29.:11:34.

upfront, and then you've got the playmaker, Matawalu. And Bennett, he

:11:35.:11:46.

was outstanding for Scotland in the tournament a couple of weeks ago.

:11:47.:11:51.

They have a good balance. We don't know much about Trinbago, and that

:11:52.:11:55.

is the beauty of Melrose Sevens. You don't know how they're going to

:11:56.:11:59.

perform. You can see the Boroughmuir scrum, they've got the front foot.

:12:00.:12:03.

This will be a very tough game for the guest side. This was always a

:12:04.:12:13.

amateur events, will it enhance the competition by bringing in some of

:12:14.:12:15.

the pro side 's? The invitational sides, they have taken great scalps.

:12:16.:12:23.

I remember barbarians getting knocked out first round. But I see

:12:24.:12:29.

the Gulf between amateurs and professionals. Clermont Auvergne,

:12:30.:12:34.

they were desperately disappointed to be beaten by Saracens last year.

:12:35.:12:40.

I think Warriors will also come to the fore. But you never know, one

:12:41.:12:45.

mistake, one interception try, and if the Melrose crowd get behind the

:12:46.:12:49.

underdogs, you never know, that belief system might get in. And

:12:50.:12:55.

Melrose love the underdogs. And it has got wider because of the

:12:56.:13:03.

professionals. The crowd love tries. The crowd celebrate every

:13:04.:13:11.

try. The way that rugby has gone, a good professional team will eat earn

:13:12.:13:18.

amateur team all day long. -- will beat a parameter team all day long.

:13:19.:13:23.

At the very top level, it's all about the physicality. This is where

:13:24.:13:28.

Glasgow and Clermont Auvergne will be so much better. That is a very

:13:29.:13:36.

good win against Boroughmuir against the Trinbago side. They are through

:13:37.:13:40.

to the quarterfinals. And let's remind ourselves of the previous

:13:41.:13:46.

winners. We mentioned that Saracens won plaster and they won two years

:13:47.:13:51.

ago as well. Three is ago, the home side, Melrose, they actually won

:13:52.:13:59.

here. Every home team wants to win at the home ground and that was a

:14:00.:14:04.

great win. We all sat hit and we were overjoyed. But Saracens are not

:14:05.:14:09.

here this year. When you look at this list, it highlights what we

:14:10.:14:13.

been talking about, they are professional sides. The achievement

:14:14.:14:17.

of Melrose in 2011 was astounding, to beat the professional sides, it

:14:18.:14:27.

was outstanding. The University of Johannesburg, they were 24-0 up in

:14:28.:14:36.

the final. I said, you have won this, haven't you? He said, no, we

:14:37.:14:44.

lost in the final when we were 24 - zero up. That highlights the gulf

:14:45.:14:47.

between amateur and professional teams. It would be lovely if any of

:14:48.:14:55.

the Scottish sides one. First up, Herriot 's. They had a good win in

:14:56.:15:01.

the first round against Langholm. Bill Johnstone in the commentary

:15:02.:15:12.

box. Welcome to the commentary box which has a marvellous view of the

:15:13.:15:17.

Greenyards on this perfect day for rugby Sevens. The sun is shining and

:15:18.:15:27.

there is a stiff breeze. This is Zach Pangelinan who is about to get

:15:28.:15:35.

the game underway for the Americans. Melrose have the abbey on the back

:15:36.:15:41.

of their shirts. There is a Braveheart theme. Here go there

:15:42.:15:57.

Heriot's 's. Terry Baker has played great rugby in America look at him

:15:58.:16:04.

go. A lovely run right up the touchline. Careful! In sealed it

:16:05.:16:11.

goes to Zach Pangelinan. Zach Pangelinan gets the touchdown, five

:16:12.:16:21.

-02 USA Tigers. He was taking a risk -- 5-2. This gentleman could be a

:16:22.:16:30.

match for him. That might be the case. Speed is a good ingredient in

:16:31.:16:40.

the Sevens. Here is Zach Pangelinan with the conversion and it goes

:16:41.:16:45.

over. A nice early lead for the Tigers. Look at this, lovely running

:16:46.:16:54.

up the touchline, almost casual. I would expect them to put it in. They

:16:55.:16:59.

are confident about where it is going. Well done from Zach

:17:00.:17:12.

Pangelinan. The drop kick is easier. The drop kick has gone straight out

:17:13.:17:17.

and that will be a free kick for Heriot's. Graham Wilson will take

:17:18.:17:23.

this. Hugely experienced player, Graham Wilson. Colin Goudie, back

:17:24.:17:31.

out to Michael maltman. Look at him go. In he goes, handing off Zach

:17:32.:17:42.

Pangelinan on the way. Heriot's have got back into things with a lovely

:17:43.:17:48.

try. Michael was the scorer. Heriot's will be pleased with that.

:17:49.:18:02.

Tigers will be annoyed with that. When you see teams throw the ball

:18:03.:18:06.

around like that, it inspires the opposition to get back into it and

:18:07.:18:13.

Heriot's have done that. Just wide with the conversion attempt. It is

:18:14.:18:26.

seven - two to the Tigers. There is the squad for Heriot's. The Tigers

:18:27.:18:42.

have a few well-known names. Here is Mike Ziegler. Away goes Zar

:18:43.:18:52.

Lawrence. Look at that lovely pass. Tigers looking very good at this

:18:53.:19:00.

stage. He does well, this is Zach Pangelinan. Now it is Darin Classen.

:19:01.:19:07.

Good run by the Americans. They are building it up, keeping possession.

:19:08.:19:13.

Zar Lawrence again. Baker tries to spin out the tackle. Lovely stuff,

:19:14.:19:25.

moving it along. Here goes 37 Mac Pro, he is chased by Michael

:19:26.:19:31.

Maltman. He cannot get their -- 37 Mac Pro. -- Matt Taylor Howden. They

:19:32.:20:03.

got to the Shanghai final. This team is beginning to find its feet a

:20:04.:20:07.

little bit. You can see that in the way they have strong runners. I like

:20:08.:20:15.

their shirts. Here is Tyler -- Taylor Howden. He gets away from

:20:16.:20:23.

Michael Maltman. You can see the change of direction from Taylor

:20:24.:20:30.

Howden. Here is Wilson for Heriot's. Colin Goudie, such a great

:20:31.:20:45.

player for them over the years. Very nicely from Heriot's. Liam steel. In

:20:46.:21:01.

goes Marie Douglas. This is Liam Steele. He will make it without any

:21:02.:21:08.

bother. This young lad, Liam Steele is the son of a former British Lions

:21:09.:21:16.

winger. There is a bit of pedigree there. Well done to Heriot's there,

:21:17.:21:34.

Liam Steele broke a few tackles there. A well worked try. It makes a

:21:35.:21:43.

very interesting encounter. There is Liam Steele, shrugging off that last

:21:44.:21:53.

tackle. That is strange. You would think their Tigers would be trying

:21:54.:21:58.

to hustle back to get that. Their journey here mates have a bearing

:21:59.:22:05.

against this game. -- might have a bearing. This lad can move well. Out

:22:06.:22:12.

it goes to Zach Pangelinan. A lovely dummy there. Baker Chine to take it

:22:13.:22:24.

one-handed. -- trying to take it. It is half-time already. The pace is

:22:25.:22:36.

great, but you need the ball. Unfortunately a dropped pass there.

:22:37.:22:44.

It is an exciting game. There is Perry Baker. The ball is slightly

:22:45.:22:50.

behind him. He played in the American Football League. He decided

:22:51.:22:55.

to try Rugby Union. That shows you how dangerous he can be. Once he

:22:56.:23:02.

caught the ball, the second time, he was able to use the touchline and

:23:03.:23:06.

get through that little bit of space. 14-12 and four USA Tigers, in

:23:07.:23:16.

that lovely strip, there are Heriot's. They are getting words of

:23:17.:23:23.

wisdom. Heriot's have been doing very well, they were put out of the

:23:24.:23:31.

quarterfinal last year by Saracens. They know their way around the

:23:32.:23:35.

tournament. They have won here several times in the past. It will

:23:36.:23:45.

be a difficult thing to do in the environment today. There are a lot

:23:46.:23:53.

of good sides, professional sides and the difference between Heriot's

:23:54.:23:56.

and the professionals, they have these runners, you can see the USA

:23:57.:24:02.

Tigers have the same sort of runners, but Heriot's are still in

:24:03.:24:08.

this competition. Here is Graham Wilson with the dropout. Lovely

:24:09.:24:13.

sunny conditions. Just what the players and the crowd want. The

:24:14.:24:19.

crowd building here. Seven minutes each way. Zach Pangelinan again.

:24:20.:24:26.

This is at her mother leave out. Perry Baker back in -- Ata Malifa. A

:24:27.:24:44.

great scorer, good support play. The Americans are beginning to find a

:24:45.:24:51.

rhythm. That was nice, that is what people want to see, that

:24:52.:24:58.

interaction. It all came from Perry Baker. He took out two defenders

:24:59.:25:09.

from Heriot's. Zach Pangelinan had little to do except stroll behind

:25:10.:25:15.

the post. They are trying to conserve their energy. Here is the

:25:16.:25:22.

try again, Perry Baker, you can almost sense the alarm bells ringing

:25:23.:25:27.

when he gets the ball. Lovely interplay, a lovely off load by Ata

:25:28.:25:37.

Malifa. He is the playmaker. Back in the action, Colin Goudie and Michael

:25:38.:25:58.

Maltman. They have brought on a bigger player, the Americans. Perry

:25:59.:26:05.

Baker back -- Perry Baker get it and gets the ball away. There is a nice

:26:06.:26:11.

piece of running by: Goudie. Wilson sees the opportunity. A chance now

:26:12.:26:25.

for Liam Steele. This lad, Liam Steele, that is his second try. He

:26:26.:26:38.

has settled into the task. Great pressure from Heriot's. Great

:26:39.:26:46.

pressure from the USA Tigers. A great tackle, they made them make

:26:47.:26:53.

mistakes. A good try by Liam Steele. A good conversion by Graham Wilson.

:26:54.:27:07.

19-21 is the scorer. -- scorer. Temp one have done well to pull the

:27:08.:27:18.

Americans back. -- Heriot's. That is a brilliant take for Heriot's. Marie

:27:19.:27:31.

Douglas did that. -- Murray. Liam Steele again. Good handling by a

:27:32.:27:38.

Heriot's. : Goudie cannot make the corner. --: Goudie. That is Douglas

:27:39.:27:53.

going N. -- going in. That was great played by Goudie. -- great play. I

:27:54.:28:04.

was very impressed. A great charge by Turner. You see Goudie going

:28:05.:28:12.

towards the touchline. Got rid of the ball at the last minute. That

:28:13.:28:20.

puts them into the lead. Douglas is the try scorer. 24-21. The

:28:21.:28:35.

conversion is just wide. Just a scorer between the sides. Tigers are

:28:36.:28:43.

likely to get back into the lead. We talked about the substitution, if

:28:44.:28:47.

you bring on substitutes, you cannot take them off a game. Two minutes

:28:48.:29:05.

left in this game. Palamo has played this kind of football in America. He

:29:06.:29:14.

is round about 18 stones. He can run very quickly as well. You can

:29:15.:29:18.

imagine the damage he can do with the ball.

:29:19.:29:37.

Heriot's beginning to build their confidence now. The Americans are

:29:38.:29:46.

tiring just a little bit. Great piece of running here. This is Chris

:29:47.:29:54.

Mulligan, a youngster, he has scored a vital try for Heriot's. The

:29:55.:30:02.

Edinburgh side go ahead. The build-up to that was very good

:30:03.:30:07.

indeed. It was very good. Very pleased with that himself. Good

:30:08.:30:16.

ripping of the ball. The speed, that is all that it is about. The Tigers

:30:17.:30:20.

didn't react as quickly as they should have done. Graham Wilson has

:30:21.:30:25.

this. It has pulled back away to the left.

:30:26.:30:39.

Eight points between the sides. Into the last-minute of this type. That

:30:40.:30:45.

is quite a vital score. That is eight points difference. The Tigers

:30:46.:30:50.

need more than one score to get back into the lead here. 5-3 tries,

:30:51.:31:02.

Heriot's lead. What can this big man do, Palamo? That was a great

:31:03.:31:10.

off-load. He's got it away now. This is better stuff. This is Eleonora

:31:11.:31:19.

Sports, and he goes all the way. Great score for the Americans. 29-26

:31:20.:31:31.

now. 29-28. Would you believe it? One point between the sides at

:31:32.:31:34.

full-time. Heriot's go through with the the score at 29-28.

:31:35.:31:46.

USA Tigers out of the competition. I'm delighted to say that this

:31:47.:31:53.

Scottish coach joins me. A lot of those professional players dotted

:31:54.:31:56.

around in the other teams, what is the idea behind that? Melrose is a

:31:57.:31:59.

wonderful event. It's a great opportunity for our

:32:00.:32:07.

praise to get some preparation for their tournaments. Building towards

:32:08.:32:12.

the Commonwealth Games as well, such an important year for you. It is

:32:13.:32:18.

massive to have home games. We saw the impact London 2012 had on the

:32:19.:32:24.

nation. And to be part of that, it is unique. It was a wonderful

:32:25.:32:31.

event, and we are looking to build momentum towards Glasgow. And it

:32:32.:32:35.

isn't the easiest group. There are no easy groups. We have had easy

:32:36.:32:44.

income and wealth games in the past. Looking at a pool, you're thinking

:32:45.:32:48.

Canada is a key game, so we need to focus ourselves on getting it right.

:32:49.:32:56.

It is hoick against Galer -- it is how it against Gala.

:32:57.:33:13.

Scott Hastings is on my left. It is fitting we have the Greens of Hawick

:33:14.:33:21.

against the maroon of Gala. What a game. The incredible victory of the

:33:22.:33:29.

Heriot's over the USA Tigers by one point and then one for the locals to

:33:30.:33:36.

watch between Hawick and Gala. That is a huge upset, Heriot's beating

:33:37.:33:42.

the Americans. Hawick art on the attack. -- Hawick are on the attack.

:33:43.:33:51.

It goes to show what an upset can be done. It was all done by good

:33:52.:33:56.

Heriot's pressure. They commanded that possession of the rugby ball,

:33:57.:34:00.

and they put that Tigers team under pressure. You always chasing, and at

:34:01.:34:07.

the moment in this opening minute and a half, Hawick have had a lot of

:34:08.:34:12.

pressure on Gala. And you think they will make it go down the blindside.

:34:13.:34:16.

There is a big wind going down from left to right. Gala have the wind at

:34:17.:34:27.

their backs. This is a very good try for James Johnson, one of the seven

:34:28.:34:32.

stars on display. Of the 12 Scottish squads, 11 are here today. Johnson

:34:33.:34:44.

will really help them out today. He was influential out in Hong Kong

:34:45.:34:49.

when Scotland won the competition. And James Johnson, low centre of

:34:50.:34:54.

gravity, a great work ethic. And once he gets those pistons going, he

:34:55.:35:00.

can break a tackle. The conversion is away. Look at the sun shine. Look

:35:01.:35:08.

at the crowd. It is one of the great locations. All started in 1883. Look

:35:09.:35:15.

at the people enjoying themselves. A hint of a cold breeze, but you

:35:16.:35:18.

couldn't want for anything better. It is a victory painting here with

:35:19.:35:23.

the skills in the background. They are all enjoying these games. The

:35:24.:35:35.

first game kicked off at 1130 AM. We hope you are enjoying this at home.

:35:36.:35:42.

Maybe the USA or in the wrong times! They had so many great players. --

:35:43.:35:50.

maybe the USA were in the wrong time zone. It's actually great for the

:35:51.:35:55.

Scottish teams because they must come here thinking, we've got these

:35:56.:35:59.

great stars to play against, and it was good to see. Andy Nichol said

:36:00.:36:07.

that sometimes having that extra tie mix all the difference. Let's get

:36:08.:36:12.

back to the action. -- makes all the difference.

:36:13.:36:24.

Watch out for Johnstone for Hawick. At the moment, it is five - 04

:36:25.:36:37.

Hawick. Summary good games to come. Cars go Warriors, they were very

:36:38.:36:41.

good early on. Now, here is a big attack.

:36:42.:36:46.

Look at this. Young, the International Sevens star touches

:36:47.:37:00.

down. Yes, he has switched allegiance in the maroon jersey of

:37:01.:37:09.

Gala. Greg was playing in the Hong Kong tens. That was before the

:37:10.:37:14.

Sevens. He was quite outstanding there as well, showing what a strong

:37:15.:37:22.

rugby player he is. They played two seasons ago, the brothers, and they

:37:23.:37:27.

were outstanding. This is Greg Gore, he gets the ball, cuts in, it is a

:37:28.:37:32.

long stride, and they've got real pace. That was one of the reasons

:37:33.:37:38.

that they were put on the contract, Lewis and Greg Gore. And they are

:37:39.:37:39.

showing their skills. -- Gregor. If you think about all the players

:37:40.:38:03.

that have been in this famous green jersey... They have a man over on

:38:04.:38:17.

the left. But as nicely played. -- that is nicely played. And over the

:38:18.:38:21.

line. Lovely try, the continuity of play

:38:22.:38:36.

was evident through James Johnson. He took the ball into contact. The

:38:37.:38:37.

gap was on the outside. And it is good. I thought the flag

:38:38.:38:58.

went up! But it is 12-7 to Hawick. Think of the heritage between these

:38:59.:39:04.

two teams. You think of the great border teams, Hawick and Gala, top

:39:05.:39:07.

of the league, back in the days before professionalism. I don't

:39:08.:39:14.

think the border league is as big as it was. Here in the Sevens they have

:39:15.:39:19.

a chance to get stuck into each other.

:39:20.:39:30.

They are just plain cagey. Dr had a professional contract, they thought

:39:31.:39:38.

he would go all the way at one point. --

:39:39.:39:44.

Hutton. This is nice rugby now. This could be another run-in for

:39:45.:40:01.

Renwick. That is the whistle for half-time. Great covering defence.

:40:02.:40:13.

James Parker, denies that try. The try has been given! So, it wasn't

:40:14.:40:20.

judged to be a knock-on. So, Hawick with a good lead. The half-time

:40:21.:40:30.

whistle has gone. It touched down so, Hawick in the lead, 17-7, and

:40:31.:40:39.

Gala will have to come back. The wind is going right to left. It is a

:40:40.:40:43.

big wind. Hawick have the advantage at half

:40:44.:40:56.

time. The Scotland Sevens coach is still with me. Such a good game,

:40:57.:41:01.

lots of Borders sides playing each other throughout the day. It is a

:41:02.:41:07.

wonderful event. To have that sparkling of international Sevens

:41:08.:41:12.

players amongst the teams as well as the Invitational teams, it is great.

:41:13.:41:17.

You look at the crowd, the weather, it is nice to see Heriot's overturn

:41:18.:41:25.

the USA Tigers. Let's reflect on how big a deal that was, given the

:41:26.:41:29.

players in the USA Tigers team. It was mentioned, Heriot's had played a

:41:30.:41:34.

previous game, that makes the difference. They got a second wind.

:41:35.:41:44.

Some good players in that Heriot's squad. In this game, Hawick against

:41:45.:41:52.

Gala. The sad thing is that the Borders sides are going out, but

:41:53.:41:58.

lots of support for all the sides. People are enjoying themselves,

:41:59.:42:00.

seeing how wonderful the game of Sevens is. In three weeks' time,

:42:01.:42:07.

we've got the event with international teams as well. Thank

:42:08.:42:12.

you. We look forward to it, and we wish all the best at the

:42:13.:42:16.

International 's. We rejoin this match just after half-time.

:42:17.:42:20.

That was a demolition derby. This is Parker. He was on the left wing,

:42:21.:42:30.

flying on the left wing, and he has flown right into the sign. Have a

:42:31.:42:37.

look at this. I think it was the sign. Does that say BBC Scotland?

:42:38.:42:43.

The sign was just minding its own business! Hopefully, he will be all

:42:44.:42:54.

right. He has taken a very bad dunk. That is not funny. That is a strong

:42:55.:43:00.

looking lad, he's been playing well. Left arm, left shoulder strapped up.

:43:01.:43:04.

Parker is OK. He has shown enough pace and mobility. Gala opened up

:43:05.:43:10.

the King of the Sevens last weekend.

:43:11.:43:19.

It is going to be a Hawick throwing. Just back.

:43:20.:43:37.

He has cultural available. He has gone a long way backwards. --

:43:38.:43:59.

Cottrell. Russell. Out to Dodds. A big long pass, Somervell. Good score

:44:00.:44:15.

by Grant Somervell for Gallo. -- map Gala. Great try, but the conversion

:44:16.:44:38.

missed. It is a great game. I had lots of interested parties here.

:44:39.:44:49.

There is my old playing colleague, Peter Dods. An old colleague of mine

:44:50.:45:05.

as well -- map Dodds. The biggest success rate of any international

:45:06.:45:15.

player. The Gala manager. He keeps up and looks to give Cottrell the

:45:16.:45:20.

ball. He slipped it out of his grasp. Mrs the long past. It is

:45:21.:45:27.

intercepted by Craig Robertson -- mrs-macro. -- misses. Great tackle

:45:28.:45:44.

there from James Johnson. Takes all that experience to get back there.

:45:45.:45:56.

There he is. He spoke to me when I was going back to my hotel. He is a

:45:57.:46:11.

good player. Hawick. Johnson. A 5-point game, Hawick with the Win

:46:12.:46:15.

behind them. They could make Gala run. -- win.

:46:16.:46:28.

Here is Rennick. Hutton. That is clever play. Gary Johnson. All these

:46:29.:46:45.

teams are so much better than they used to be at presenting the ball.

:46:46.:46:51.

Everyone has a good technique. That is wrapped up well by Gala. Out it

:46:52.:47:02.

goes to Dodds. Borders teams are fantastic to watch, everything is a

:47:03.:47:10.

competition. Cottrell. This is plenty of space, Keith Davies, back

:47:11.:47:17.

to Cottrell. Look at the conditions, they are perfect. We have been here

:47:18.:47:22.

a few years and the weather is not great, but today, what a brilliant

:47:23.:47:30.

looking place. Full credit to all the staff and volunteers. What a

:47:31.:47:40.

great tie this is, Gala have a real chance. Two minutes left on the

:47:41.:47:46.

clock. They have to scorer and get a conversion. -- score. They Hawick

:47:47.:47:56.

defenders are keeping their men up. This is a good side -- their Hawick

:47:57.:48:07.

defenders. That the. Penalty to Hawick. Hutton keeps the ball in.

:48:08.:48:17.

Gives it inside to Johnson, takes it to Cottrell. He is just short. That

:48:18.:48:25.

is a good tackle. Can Hawick get this ball back. -- can Hawick get

:48:26.:48:35.

this ball back? Can they scorer from here? Could this be the man to do it

:48:36.:48:44.

-- score. It is Grant Sommerville. There will be a scrum to Hawick. One

:48:45.:49:02.

minute left. Here is the tackle. Look at this, you thought time one

:49:03.:49:09.

was going to do it. Gala were able to do it -- Cottrell.

:49:10.:49:18.

30 seconds remaining, all that Hawick have to do is hold onto

:49:19.:49:25.

possession and they have won this. Penalty to Hawick. 15 seconds left.

:49:26.:49:33.

Hawick will take this to the touchline. They may be a bit early.

:49:34.:49:42.

He has blown his whistle early. They must have asked the referee.

:49:43.:49:48.

Full-time then, it is Hawick 17, Gala, 12. Hawick deserved that, it

:49:49.:49:59.

was good play. I felt that Gala had an opportunity to steal that, but

:50:00.:50:04.

they got a bit clustered and did not release the ball out wide. People

:50:05.:50:14.

are enjoying themselves in the sunshine. The next tie is going to

:50:15.:50:21.

be another local derby, these are the ones we come here to watch. We

:50:22.:50:26.

have just seen Hawick and Gala and the next munch -- match will be sell

:50:27.:50:36.

against Melrose. There are the Gala players, they are a bit

:50:37.:50:41.

disconsolate. Let us look at possibly the tackle which might have

:50:42.:50:45.

saved it for a Gala. This is Cottrell, but what a tackle. Look at

:50:46.:50:51.

the turnover. It was Craig Russell with the tackle. That was a great

:50:52.:51:04.

moment. They reckon they will get 10,000 people here today and it will

:51:05.:51:09.

get bigger. Later on you will see Glasgow Warriors who look as if they

:51:10.:51:15.

can demolish anyone. This is Melrose on the right against Selkirk on the

:51:16.:51:20.

left. Melrose have the wind behind them. Another border derby. They are

:51:21.:51:31.

little competitions within the main competition. That is the number

:51:32.:51:43.

four, one of the best players. He has so much ability. Fraser Harkness

:51:44.:51:54.

is very effective. He brings everyone else into play very well.

:51:55.:52:04.

This is kicked ahead by Anderson. He has the wind. I am guessing that the

:52:05.:52:13.

pressure on Melrose players must be very severe. This game is seven

:52:14.:52:24.

brothers, continuing a band which has gone on for so long. They seem

:52:25.:52:32.

to cope with that. They usually do pretty well. For the last few years,

:52:33.:52:38.

they have usually got through to the semifinal. They won eight in 2011.

:52:39.:52:44.

They prepare so much more and so much better than the other Scottish

:52:45.:52:47.

teams because it is their own Sevens. Good defence from the

:52:48.:53:03.

Melrose players. Fraser Harkness is out on the right wing. There is

:53:04.:53:09.

Scott Hendry. They are making steady ground. Compared to the Glasgow

:53:10.:53:17.

Warriors and the US team, they struggled. This is Scott Hendry.

:53:18.:53:23.

Look at how these players are backtracking. Fraser Harkness. He

:53:24.:53:33.

knew he would not get around him and he presented the ball. That is very

:53:34.:53:48.

good play. Scott Hendry. Davies. Bite to Clapperton and all the way

:53:49.:53:58.

out to the far wing. -- out. Davis was in there as well and this is

:53:59.:54:02.

Davies again, he looks really sharp. Anderson with a high shot, it

:54:03.:54:09.

will be a penalty. I wonder what that looks like. I wonder if he was

:54:10.:54:18.

high. Let us look at that. Yes it was. Very much so! It can hit the

:54:19.:54:24.

chest and roll up, but that was very high. Scott Hendry had the ball,

:54:25.:54:34.

McDougall. They look quite good here. McDougall, Marshall. Nixon.

:54:35.:54:49.

They are playing patience, no points on the board for either team.

:54:50.:54:53.

Clapperton, at that more aggression from Marshall. -- a bit more

:54:54.:55:00.

aggression. At the moment, the Melrose defenders... There is a very

:55:01.:55:07.

famous man. I thought it was Graham Marshall, I wonder if that is his

:55:08.:55:19.

son. It is, Callum Marshall. He is responsible for a lot of the Selkirk

:55:20.:55:32.

junior rugby. Peter Wright will be joining them. He will be the next

:55:33.:55:41.

Selkirk coach. Nixon. Scott Hendry. We have not seen much Melrose

:55:42.:55:46.

possession, they need to get the ball. Five minutes gone. This is the

:55:47.:55:52.

first time Melrose have played here today. The first tie is about

:55:53.:55:58.

finding your feet. Melrose will not be disappointed at about defending

:55:59.:56:03.

early, now they can to what they will do in attack. They have put the

:56:04.:56:13.

ball in the scrum. Nice little break. That is good. This could be

:56:14.:56:24.

the first try of the game. He had plenty of strength to get through

:56:25.:56:32.

those tackles and he touch touches it down. Austin Lockington weighed

:56:33.:56:44.

up his options, saw a gap and got the pace to get through. He looks

:56:45.:57:07.

up, there were four defenders, but he could get away from temp one and

:57:08.:57:13.

no one was there to stop them. A bit of showboating, starts the engine.

:57:14.:57:18.

It will not be the only try he scores today.

:57:19.:57:34.

Selkirk with the ball. Davies. Davis passes deep. Nixon out to Fraser

:57:35.:57:49.

Harkness, he can make things happen. There he goes. Incredible

:57:50.:57:57.

dexterity in every sense from Fraser Harkness. Callum Marshall blasts his

:57:58.:58:05.

way over the line. That was stunning play by Fraser Harkness. Beautifully

:58:06.:58:14.

balanced, he gets it, he changes hands. Great step, he knows he has

:58:15.:58:21.

the pace, off-loads it to Callum Marshall, an equalising try, great

:58:22.:58:28.

play by Fraser Harkness and for Selkirk to get their first try.

:58:29.:58:34.

Table one -- Fraser Harkness with the drop kick attempt. That is

:58:35.:58:44.

half-time. It is Selkirk five, Melrose, seven. It's off the back of

:58:45.:59:01.

a good performance. Last week, they won the Gala Sevens. Melrose played

:59:02.:59:08.

really well throughout the whole tournament. You can see the pace

:59:09.:59:14.

they have. We've seen evidence just once so far in this first half, but

:59:15.:59:21.

good work of the ball. The difficulty is when you have been

:59:22.:59:29.

playing well, you think it will come again, but they have to get moving

:59:30.:59:32.

because this game might slip away from them. Selkirk have been playing

:59:33.:59:41.

too well. This is their homes Sevens, it is so important. There

:59:42.:59:46.

will not be any sort of complacency from winning last week. All that

:59:47.:59:55.

will do is make them better. This is the first game today. They have

:59:56.:59:59.

defended well, they have one chance, they have taken it.

:00:00.:00:11.

Robertson, if he gets a chance, he is an extraordinary way. Mark

:00:12.:00:19.

Robertson, son of Keith Robertson. He is big, he is quick. He was

:00:20.:00:24.

playing for Scotland a couple of weeks ago, and he played very well.

:00:25.:00:29.

Bittersweet memory here. He was in the final when Melrose was so far

:00:30.:00:35.

up. Just as we given them big build-up! But he is good. He took

:00:36.:00:42.

his eye off the ball. When he gets the ball, here's something. As you

:00:43.:00:51.

say, it is the home team. He was excited to play for Melrose, this is

:00:52.:00:56.

his club. He doesn't get to play very often, so it is a great

:00:57.:01:00.

opportunity to play for his home club at his home Sevens. Harkness,

:01:01.:01:05.

there he is again, he doesn't go down very easily. Offside? In at the

:01:06.:01:12.

side. Melrose, as you say, looking a bit

:01:13.:02:09.

better than Selkirk now. The referee gave home advantage, there was no

:02:10.:02:13.

territory advantage. Normally, in Sevens, it is one or two phases, and

:02:14.:02:15.

that is it. Harkness, every time he touches the

:02:16.:02:26.

ball, something happens. This game is getting a little bit

:02:27.:02:51.

more physical. A knock-on or penalty is coming.

:02:52.:03:06.

Yes, penalty. You can hear the communication from the referee, his

:03:07.:03:10.

commentating as much as we are to the players, which is great

:03:11.:03:15.

refereeing. The players know exactly what he is wanting.

:03:16.:03:35.

The Borders teams keep a lot of which in attack. -- width in attack.

:03:36.:03:50.

A chance for Melrose to get close to sealing this one up. A couple more

:03:51.:03:55.

minutes left in this tie. Just enough speed, takes the risk,

:03:56.:04:12.

it is a good try. It could be the clincher, as you say. Luckington, he

:04:13.:04:22.

is a good showman. You think, touch it down, but he puts it inside. He

:04:23.:04:27.

makes it a seven point, considering it is 12 - five, that is a good

:04:28.:04:34.

decision. 14-5 now so that is more than just one score. Yes, it looks

:04:35.:04:41.

as though it will be more. It looks like it will be Melrose to win.

:04:42.:04:48.

We've got lots of action still to come with lots of games as we follow

:04:49.:04:52.

the Melrose Sevens to its conclusion. This is the place where

:04:53.:05:01.

the game was born. This game is now beyond Selkirk with the kick-off.

:05:02.:05:10.

Two minutes, if you get one score, you get a chance, so it is never

:05:11.:05:11.

over. Nice step, nice try. That looks like

:05:12.:05:54.

that is the clincher. Melrose are the better side, and we have seen

:05:55.:05:59.

that. Slow start, but it is their first game today. They are going

:06:00.:06:04.

through the gears quite nicely, actually. They have scored three

:06:05.:06:10.

good tries. They have won this game, and they will be quite happy. Yes,

:06:11.:06:18.

Hoyland was waiting in the willing -- in the wings. Robertson kept it

:06:19.:06:29.

alive. Luckington, lots of little off-loads. Then he had a battle for

:06:30.:06:34.

possession. He came out, the ball goes wide, and then again,

:06:35.:06:39.

Luckington, he has been involved in much of what has been good. And

:06:40.:06:41.

underneath the posts. This is just a run-in. Nobody is

:06:42.:07:31.

going to catch him. He dots the ball between the uprights. It is a

:07:32.:07:35.

commanding win in the end for Melrose on their home turf. And they

:07:36.:07:41.

will be very happy with that. They will be very happy with their

:07:42.:07:46.

victory over their local rivals, Selkirk. It has been a couple of

:07:47.:07:52.

great games, two border derbies, great play. And we have got lots

:07:53.:08:00.

more games, Glasgow Warriors who will probably blast their way

:08:01.:08:07.

through most of the teams here, and we will be talking to some of the

:08:08.:08:12.

players. Well done, John, you must be delighted. Thank you. It's always

:08:13.:08:20.

difficult to get through that first game. We were quite nervous. Selkirk

:08:21.:08:25.

as well, local rivals, we needed to get in there. We were talking about

:08:26.:08:31.

playing on your home turf, it must be no fracking. It is. -- it must be

:08:32.:08:39.

nerve wracking. But the support, it is a huge day. We were concentrating

:08:40.:08:47.

on just winning. The games to come. -- big games to come. Glasgow Hawks

:08:48.:08:53.

teams like that, the guys have got their eyes open. Every time you get

:08:54.:08:59.

through around, half the teams are going out, so we just need to get

:09:00.:09:00.

through to the next round. Congratulations to Melrose, they

:09:01.:09:13.

will be playing Hawick. We will find out who will be on the bottom

:09:14.:09:20.

quarterfinals. The next game is an all Edinburgh affair.

:09:21.:09:26.

Welcome to this Edinburgh city tie. Edinburgh Academicals, they have

:09:27.:09:41.

great pace. This young kid signed professional contract a couple of

:09:42.:09:45.

weeks ago, he has been a marked as a special talent. And he has got

:09:46.:09:49.

special talent. There's no substitute for pace, and he has got

:09:50.:09:54.

it in abundance. Quite an easy run-in for the first score for the

:09:55.:09:59.

Edinburgh Academicals. Two cracking head to heads in the borders between

:10:00.:10:08.

Hawick and Gala, they won 17-12, and Selkirk were beaten 26-5 against

:10:09.:10:18.

Melrose. Now it is Edinburgh Academicals against Watsonians.

:10:19.:10:27.

Watsonians, they are in good nick having lost in the final last week

:10:28.:10:37.

to Melrose last week in the Gala Sevens. Edinburgh Academicals have

:10:38.:10:42.

started stronger. What Sony and is attacking. Finding

:10:43.:11:02.

some space on the far side. The ball is taken to ground. Watsonians have

:11:03.:11:17.

taken the possession. Scrappy possession. The Accies line are

:11:18.:11:27.

squeezing them on the space. They squeeze and squeeze. What, too many

:11:28.:11:32.

balls-mac going to deck, which puts them on the back foot and allows the

:11:33.:11:35.

Accies to put some pressure on them. Niall Irving Hess, he is the

:11:36.:11:46.

standout for Watsonians. Lovely try here for the Edinburgh

:11:47.:12:05.

Academicals! That was a super Sevens try. Great interplay, support,

:12:06.:12:13.

running, it is all about what the players off the ball do as much as

:12:14.:12:17.

what the ball carrier does. And Accies did it to perfection. Just a

:12:18.:12:24.

good use of space and good angles. You see the inside track which is so

:12:25.:12:29.

devastating. This allowed them to get away, a good angle. Takes two

:12:30.:12:37.

what Sony and is out, and it is a good work try for Accies. Want to

:12:38.:12:43.

get behind defensive alignment such as that, you can start running those

:12:44.:12:46.

angles, teasing with the opposition defences. Watsonians, great Sevens

:12:47.:12:57.

tradition. Is it still continuing, is it so important still? Very much

:12:58.:13:03.

so. This is the second tournament on the circuit. Watsonians have always

:13:04.:13:11.

put-in a lot of effort. And it is great to expose players to that

:13:12.:13:14.

skill level. Look at this from Edinburgh Academicals.

:13:15.:13:22.

In for the second try. There is the what Sony and coaching team, two

:13:23.:13:35.

very illustrious players themselves. You sometimes can't do anything to

:13:36.:13:41.

defend this well worked kick-off. They have got the pace. The second

:13:42.:13:54.

try. It is a tough ask for what Sony is to come back. An indication, if

:13:55.:14:05.

you do not have a ball, you can play is seven aside rugby -- what Sony

:14:06.:14:20.

's. That Watsonians. Alex player with the pass out. He has a chip. It

:14:21.:14:31.

has bounced nicely for the captain of the Accies team. The last time

:14:32.:14:39.

they won this competition was in 1949. It shows the tradition in the

:14:40.:14:49.

tournament. It is a premier event. All pressure from Accies. They are

:14:50.:14:54.

teasing the defence for Watsonians. The tackle comes in from Heart.

:14:55.:15:06.

Dean, he finds a little bit of space. He has laid the ball nicely

:15:07.:15:15.

on the outside. That is the fourth try for Accies. He goes in under the

:15:16.:15:25.

post and makes the conversion. Surely now this is just a walk in

:15:26.:15:40.

the park. They have got good players. We have not mentioned Jamie

:15:41.:15:54.

Farndale. Here's another one of the youngsters representing Scotland in

:15:55.:16:03.

the Commonwealth Games. He is left for dead and a lack of concentration

:16:04.:16:08.

from him which allows the ball to be dotted down and the conversion is

:16:09.:16:17.

successful. They are in for another try. The white flight is almost

:16:18.:16:31.

going up for Watsonians at the moment. They have received three

:16:32.:16:38.

kick-offs, straight back and this was the end of it. It was the

:16:39.:16:44.

captain, he had the power and the pace and this is a lesson being

:16:45.:16:49.

handed out to Watsonians. They have not even got off the bus. It goes to

:16:50.:16:57.

show that that sometimes can work in your favour. The conversion was

:16:58.:17:03.

unsuccessful. Seven minutes of rugby god, look at the scoreline, 29-0 two

:17:04.:17:18.

Edinburgh Zoo. -- to Accies. It is looking comfortable for a temp one

:17:19.:17:23.

at that time. Here are the other results. -- Accies.

:17:24.:17:53.

We should see the whole of this second-half, it is very comfortable

:17:54.:18:07.

for Accies. We have been chatting about what was said in that

:18:08.:18:12.

half-time huddle for Watsonians. There is no way they are going to

:18:13.:18:24.

win. I cannot see it. There is a cup of tea that the wonderful Melrose

:18:25.:18:30.

ladies put on for the players. Can Watsonians have a reaction. Hamilton

:18:31.:18:37.

out wide and it is in to this man who is a bit of a flying machine. I

:18:38.:18:46.

thought that was going to be the start of the comeback, but good

:18:47.:18:52.

defence from Accies. There is a strong wind. The wind is coming

:18:53.:19:01.

across the Greenyards. Watsonians have an advantage. Side entry. That

:19:02.:19:14.

was adjudged against Accies, so Watsonians will start with their

:19:15.:19:26.

kick on goal. Mrs Hamilton. -- this is Hamilton. Irving Hess on the wide

:19:27.:19:40.

outside. Advantage being played. This is Accies attacking. That is

:19:41.:19:56.

Blair and it is onto Jamie Farndale. That is Scott McKeen. The captain

:19:57.:20:18.

takes it up over the ten yard line. It is not quite time for the

:20:19.:20:22.

football World Cup, we will enjoy this for now.

:20:23.:20:41.

Scott McCain, Jamie Farndale has him trapped. He gets the ball back to

:20:42.:20:59.

Ramsay Young. Spread out to Neil Irving Hess. That is the second time

:21:00.:21:07.

he has lost the ball in contact, Neil Irving Hess he is learning

:21:08.:21:14.

about Sevens rugby quickly. He is a physical specimen, but he is not

:21:15.:21:20.

under real pressure. That is giving easy possession back to Accies. He

:21:21.:21:27.

has been taken off. He has had enough. Watsonians have another

:21:28.:21:33.

player coming on. It is certainly a closer encounter

:21:34.:22:08.

in the second half, no points in the second half, unbelievably having

:22:09.:22:12.

seen it Accies take about 29 point lead in the first half. Hamilton. He

:22:13.:22:25.

has the step. He has got bags of pace, but another good tackle coming

:22:26.:22:33.

in from the Accies defence. Blair gets the tackle. That is the ten

:22:34.:22:40.

yard line. This is the substitute, gets the ball to Ramsay Young. Scott

:22:41.:22:51.

McKeen recycles the ball. Better play from Watsonians. Hamilton

:22:52.:23:04.

It has been a better second half for what Sony 's. They have not been

:23:05.:23:23.

able to get across the try line. Accies will be happy -- Watsonians.

:23:24.:23:34.

They will be tested much more in the next round. They will be quite

:23:35.:23:39.

pleased with having to defend. Mentally as well, when you know you

:23:40.:23:45.

have done all the hard work, you can relax a little bit. Scott McKeen was

:23:46.:23:55.

shrugged off the tackle. He shows great pace. It goes to show that off

:23:56.:24:01.

the bench, for the first try the second half, is this player. They

:24:02.:24:08.

have absorbed the pressure that Watsonians have had and taken a

:24:09.:24:14.

chance. There is no substitute for pace and the substitute came on and

:24:15.:24:21.

scored. It has been a comfortable victory for Accies. Accies thumping

:24:22.:24:28.

Watsonians by 36 points to one. A comfortable win for Accies. Next

:24:29.:24:52.

up it is Clermont Auvergne, they were beaten last year by Saracens,

:24:53.:24:58.

they were disappointed to lose the competition, because as you can

:24:59.:25:01.

remember, they had a commanding position. They were just ahead, and

:25:02.:25:12.

then the opposing team got a try. This conversion was very important.

:25:13.:25:23.

It went over, Saracens won they trophy for the second year in a row

:25:24.:25:29.

-- Ladies Cup. They are here and they are determined to do some

:25:30.:25:39.

damage. Enjoy this. 84 tries have been scored in this tournament so

:25:40.:25:49.

far. Fairmont Werner are in a yellow -- Clermont Auvergne. They have

:25:50.:25:55.

trained very hard. I have been watching them and I have to say

:25:56.:26:02.

there has been a professionalism and a precision about their preparation

:26:03.:26:09.

squad which has been impressive. I was talking to Neil McIlroy, a

:26:10.:26:16.

former player who is now a manager of the Toulon team and he said how

:26:17.:26:20.

upset they were to lose with the last play of the game. They have a

:26:21.:26:26.

lot of confidence. Four players return to the side. They will be one

:26:27.:26:31.

of the teams to watch as we head towards the final. Look at him go!

:26:32.:26:44.

He is a big strong fellow. 17 stones plus. He is from Fiji. This is his

:26:45.:26:55.

first year at Claremont Verne. A one-handed off-load. -- Clermont

:26:56.:27:07.

Auvergne. So many Fijians give us fantastic players. They have this

:27:08.:27:14.

natural ability. -- become fantastic players. The conversion. The

:27:15.:27:33.

scrum-half. There is the try scorer. -- Uwa Tawalo. Here comes Glasgow.

:27:34.:27:42.

Lovely running. That was a great run. A great run by Shaun Murphy.

:27:43.:27:51.

Chris Boyle. Here is: Gregor. He is caught. --: Gregor. -- Colin Gregor.

:27:52.:28:12.

That is a lovely sidestep. He has got great support from Marie. A

:28:13.:28:23.

chance for Boyle. -- Murray. There is Uwa Tawalo. They are trying to

:28:24.:28:30.

get the ball away. That is Gregor. That almost brings

:28:31.:29:00.

us to the end of our coverage. If you go to BBC Two Scotland now, we

:29:01.:29:07.

can carry on. Before we go back to the action, let me remind you of

:29:08.:29:15.

what has happened so far. Action got underway at 11:30am. This is round

:29:16.:29:42.

one so far. This is the second round, so far.

:29:43.:29:56.

The hardiest annuals return for another spectacular display.
