we are entering the final stretch and there are precious prizes up for

:00:21.:00:29.

grabs. Play-off places the Sun, European qualification for others.

:00:30.:00:36.

For the rest... Just pride. Welsh the is broken and desperately needs

:00:37.:00:40.

fixing. Those are the views of David Moffat, who is back in Wales and

:00:41.:00:45.

hoping to become chairman of the WRU. I am here because I have an

:00:46.:00:52.

incredible passion for Welsh rugby. We salute Smiler, diagnosed with

:00:53.:00:58.

cancer in October, he has not only beaten it but is back on the pitch.

:00:59.:01:05.

He is an example to us all. Good Evening and welcome to Scrum V.

:01:06.:01:08.

Martyn Williams and Kingsley Jones are here to pick the bones out of

:01:09.:01:12.

another intriguing weekend of Pro12 rugby. We'll begin with the Blues

:01:13.:01:15.

who were hoping to give their beleaguered fans something to shout

:01:16.:01:19.

about in their last home game of the season against Ulster.

:01:20.:01:30.

Caretaker coach Dale McIntosh wielded the axe is after defeat to

:01:31.:01:39.

the Ospreys, but by far the most significant team news was the return

:01:40.:01:43.

of Matthew Rees, following his battle with cancer.

:01:44.:01:52.

In the end, the Blues have not got out of jail. Jared Payne, an

:01:53.:02:02.

exciting and elusive player from New Zealand. We haven't had a stoppage

:02:03.:02:14.

yet. Ulster try and get it wide. That was so easy but sloppy as far

:02:15.:02:36.

as the Blues are concerned. The fans getting behind them as well. Great

:02:37.:02:42.

drive forward. They have won 25 metres or so. That has got the Blues

:02:43.:02:49.

faithful going. They are still going. What a drive! Can they go all

:02:50.:03:01.

the way? ! They have gone to ground. Can they recycle? Yes they can. Why

:03:02.:03:17.

did they elect to kick that? The Blues increase their advantage.

:03:18.:03:34.

Jackson under pressure. Measured to perfection, that kick. It went

:03:35.:03:44.

loose. Copeland is clear. Copeland stretching his legs. He has gone all

:03:45.:03:59.

the way stop out of the top drawer. That reverse pass found Robbie

:04:00.:04:03.

Copeland and he had the strength to go over. Blues supporters trying to

:04:04.:04:16.

lift their team. Ulster over the try-line. Luke Marshall again. The

:04:17.:04:24.

referee is right there. He is going to have a look at it. Was it

:04:25.:04:29.

completed, was he still moving on the floor? It is going to

:04:30.:04:43.

inconclusive. Penalty for Paddy Jackson.

:04:44.:04:55.

Blues giving everything into this. 2.5 minutes over the 80. Brilliant

:04:56.:05:09.

recycling work right Ulster. Brilliant discipline as well. Chance

:05:10.:05:17.

that old stuff. There were men out on the far side will stop Blues need

:05:18.:05:23.

to be careful. They have regrouped. They did well to slow up possession.

:05:24.:05:31.

But something has got to give. It is a turnover. It is a penalty. That is

:05:32.:05:41.

the victory for the Blues. We did ourselves and the region and

:05:42.:05:47.

injustice last week. We did a lot of soul-searching in the week to try to

:05:48.:05:51.

make amends. I believe we did that night. An incredible result against

:05:52.:05:57.

Ulster. Last week you said you had witnessed their worst performance of

:05:58.:06:02.

the season against Ospreys. How do you account for the turnaround? What

:06:03.:06:07.

a difference a week makes. They were outstanding last week. It is mindset

:06:08.:06:13.

and attitude. Last week they were very passive in defence. Too easily

:06:14.:06:19.

broken down. But this example, great formation. Watch the numbers flood

:06:20.:06:28.

the breakdown area. They do win the ball back, but there is no

:06:29.:06:37.

scrum-half. Ulster pinch it back. Josh Navidi was outstanding

:06:38.:06:44.

yesterday, man of the match. Watch the numbers scrambling, working

:06:45.:06:49.

back, chasing lost causes. Great tackling by Copeland. This man,

:06:50.:07:03.

Williams. He is back. They win the turnover. It was defence. I have not

:07:04.:07:11.

seen this from the Cardiff Blues for a while. Ulster have come in round

:07:12.:07:18.

the inside more. Blues have come to the open side of the field. Tom

:07:19.:07:33.

Court decides to stay off, I don't know why he decided that. When you

:07:34.:07:36.

are in that position, Ulster, they were under the cosh. This is just

:07:37.:07:47.

lifted the crowd. Five yards short and you can see the dispute it is

:07:48.:07:49.

causing between the Ulster players. It is a great statement from the

:07:50.:07:55.

players and the fans. You know Dale McIntosh very well, how would he

:07:56.:07:58.

have coaxed that performance out of the team given it was just a week

:07:59.:08:05.

after the defeat from Ospreys? He is very passionate, he is very astute.

:08:06.:08:10.

They responded exactly how he would have wanted them to. It was quite an

:08:11.:08:15.

easy game yesterday against Ulster. For those guys, the big test for

:08:16.:08:22.

them is in two weeks against Edinburgh away. They need to be as

:08:23.:08:25.

desperate for that game as they were yesterday. We have heard about

:08:26.:08:31.

coaches who rant and rave, but that is not necessarily what you need to

:08:32.:08:36.

do after a big defeat? Exactly, the boys will be walking around the

:08:37.:08:39.

streets of Cardiff reading the newspapers and they will be very

:08:40.:08:44.

hurt. They will be disappointed. They will have wanted to put that

:08:45.:08:50.

right. They will have walked -- worked on the technicalities and the

:08:51.:08:54.

attitude from the Blues is just what you would like to see. It is a great

:08:55.:08:59.

performance, for 50 minutes, they were excellent. The crowd were

:09:00.:09:03.

bouncing last night it was a fantastic performance. Well the

:09:04.:09:08.

biggest cheer of the night was deservedly for Matthew Rees, making

:09:09.:09:11.

his return to rugby after his battle with cancer.

:09:12.:09:17.

Last October, the man Nick named Smiler was told he had a severe test

:09:18.:09:24.

in front of him. Cardiff Blues have announced Matthew Rees is to have an

:09:25.:09:29.

enforced spell away from rugby. By December he had received his first

:09:30.:09:33.

cycle of treatment and was far from knowing whether he would fully

:09:34.:09:38.

recover. It has been a tough six weeks, especially with the operation

:09:39.:09:43.

and waiting for the results of the biopsy. It has been hard, but

:09:44.:09:47.

staying positive. Last Christmas while he was a patience, his

:09:48.:09:53.

team-mates showed their support by raising money for the hospital with

:09:54.:09:59.

a sponsored head shave. Just four months after being first diagnosed,

:10:00.:10:03.

Mattie was told he could think about rugby again. You have had the all

:10:04.:10:09.

clear, any idea when you might be back on the field? Not really, one

:10:10.:10:18.

day at a time. I will play some part towards the end of the season.

:10:19.:10:21.

Earlier this week it was announced he would fulfil that hope. A lot of

:10:22.:10:28.

people would sit on their backside and do nothing, but he fought

:10:29.:10:32.

through it. To come back from such an illness and play first-class

:10:33.:10:36.

rugby in a short period of time is amazing. It has been a tough couple

:10:37.:10:47.

of months, but the support I have had has been great. Overwhelming.

:10:48.:10:57.

Matthew Rees goes past one tackle. He is an icon, an example to us

:10:58.:11:03.

all. He came out there today and looked like he had not been away

:11:04.:11:07.

from the game. What an inspiring story. Fantastic to see him back, I

:11:08.:11:15.

know he is a mate of yours, how impressed have you been with the way

:11:16.:11:20.

he dealt with it? He said when he was diagnosed, I will be back in

:11:21.:11:29.

March. I said, get yourself right. He is carrying a few pounds at the

:11:30.:11:33.

moment, but he will get that off when he is match fit. It is that

:11:34.:11:41.

spirit that got him back. I remember you saying, he was talking about

:11:42.:11:44.

making a comeback for Wales rushed to mark I tried to make him laugh as

:11:45.:11:53.

much as possible. His goal is to be back in the Welsh award for the

:11:54.:11:56.

World Cup. He sets unrealistic goals. It is great to see him on the

:11:57.:12:07.

field. Who's to say we won't see him in a Wales shirt soon. Good luck to

:12:08.:12:13.

Matthew Rees. Now for the last four games of the season. Ok, let's get

:12:14.:12:16.

back to the action. On Friday the Ospreys had a crucial away game

:12:17.:12:18.

against play-off contenders Glasgow. Both sides arrived knowing defeat

:12:19.:12:29.

would deal a hammer blow to their title hopes. Ospreys were looking to

:12:30.:12:37.

end a five match losing streak. Despite enjoying territorial

:12:38.:12:41.

advantage in the first 40 minutes, they only have this penalty to show

:12:42.:12:49.

for their efforts at half-time. Dunbar doing well. Pressure on the

:12:50.:13:05.

Ospreys now. Brilliant. Off his feet when he completed it. The penalty

:13:06.:13:17.

given away. It has taken Glasgow and Duncan Weir just nine minutes in the

:13:18.:13:21.

second half to reduce the deficit. That could be a crucial penalty in

:13:22.:13:40.

the context of the game and the season. Doesn't waste any time in

:13:41.:13:50.

preparation. Superb strike. That is an excellent kick from Duncan Weir.

:13:51.:14:01.

Short all to James King. The Ospreys need to finish this one off. They

:14:02.:14:11.

have got a penalty. Dan Biggar draws the Ospreys back level again.

:14:12.:14:23.

Nobody to the right to go but the drop goal. Dan Biggar! He has got

:14:24.:14:33.

it. It is a superb strike from Dan Biggar.

:14:34.:14:45.

That was meant that Tommy Seymour. Tommy Seymour thinks he has got the

:14:46.:14:54.

touchdown and back could be a killer blow. Tommy Seymour has got there.

:14:55.:15:10.

Picked up by Glasgow. That will be the killer blow. No try. The tried

:15:11.:15:24.

is not stand. Here it comes. Do or die from Dan

:15:25.:15:42.

Biggar and it is charged down. Matawalu, down goes Dan Biggar. It

:15:43.:15:51.

is over the try-line. It is no try for Glasgow but they have done

:15:52.:15:54.

enough at the end of the game to see it through. Once we dusted ourselves

:15:55.:16:00.

off and have a look at this game. The young lads up there have put

:16:01.:16:05.

their hand up. We have some positives, but it is raw at the

:16:06.:16:09.

moment. We have done enough to win the game but a couple of bits of

:16:10.:16:13.

naivete at the time and experience has cost us.

:16:14.:16:18.

We struggled with the analysis that half-time, three - zero. They did

:16:19.:16:26.

have some chances to win it? Yes, they will be frustrated because they

:16:27.:16:30.

deserved to win that. They were the better side. Dan Baker was

:16:31.:16:34.

outstanding at eight. They had to macro or three clear-cut chances

:16:35.:16:37.

where one try was going to be the difference. It was that tight. They

:16:38.:16:42.

have come away from their and probably blown their chances. I know

:16:43.:16:46.

they will keep going until the end, but that is a huge loss for them.

:16:47.:16:50.

You can never count out the Ospreys, we have seen them come from low down

:16:51.:16:54.

in the table and make a final push. They have a 1-point question but

:16:55.:16:59.

Glasgow have these two games in hand, three games which are against

:17:00.:17:05.

Italian sides. Have they blown it? It will be tough for them, after the

:17:06.:17:09.

Scarlets performance today they could be chasing that spot above the

:17:10.:17:14.

Ospreys as well. You can't count out the Ospreys. They have quality.

:17:15.:17:18.

Leinster at home is a huge game. Zebre awake is a massive game for

:17:19.:17:22.

the Ospreys. They haven't got an easy running but you can't count

:17:23.:17:28.

them out. They can get bonus points when they are on their money.

:17:29.:17:34.

Leinster at home as you said, the Dragons for Judgement Day, Zebre

:17:35.:17:38.

away and Connacht at -- and Connacht at home. They would fancy

:17:39.:17:42.

themselves, with respect, to win three of those, wouldn't they? They

:17:43.:17:47.

could potentially win four but Glasgow's running is not too

:17:48.:17:51.

difficult and with those games in hand I think Glasgow will pip them.

:17:52.:17:55.

We will have to wait and see, four rounds of fixtures left in the

:17:56.:17:59.

regular season. Onto the Premiership and Lowri Morgan is here with a

:18:00.:18:02.

round-up of all the weekend's action.

:18:03.:18:08.

In a nail-biting game, Pontypridd led 27-6, Aberavon snatched an

:18:09.:18:17.

unlikely victory over the lead leaners. This try by Matthew Jenkins

:18:18.:18:22.

and Matthew -- under last-minute drop goal by Matthew Carter sealed

:18:23.:18:26.

the win. There was another comeback win at Ridgefield, as bottom club

:18:27.:18:31.

Swansea sped into a 70-0 lead. Lewis John had to cross for Bedwas, but it

:18:32.:18:36.

was not until the 80th minute when a converted try completed Bedwas

:18:37.:18:40.

fightback. Llandovery moved into second place with this comfortable

:18:41.:18:44.

victory. The drovers haven't lost to Cardiff since November 2010. The

:18:45.:18:53.

first of two tries scored here. In a close fought match at the Park,

:18:54.:18:57.

Bridgend scored the try of the match through Jamie Murphy, but a penalty

:18:58.:19:03.

try and 11 points went to Craig Evans and saw the Quins home and saw

:19:04.:19:06.

the visitors get a losing bonus point. Cross Keys kept their

:19:07.:19:12.

play-off hopes alive with a bonus point win at the north. The Neath

:19:13.:19:17.

club captain was shown a red card in the last minute and Cross Keys'

:19:18.:19:22.

captain secured a bonus point win for the visitors. The black and

:19:23.:19:27.

Ambers were denied a rare win at Parc y Scarlets on Friday. Tom James

:19:28.:19:31.

looked to have secured the points for the visitors with ten minutes

:19:32.:19:36.

left. But after a period of sustained pressure, a last-minute

:19:37.:19:40.

try by James Griffiths converted by Gareth Walters saw the home team

:19:41.:19:44.

comeback to draw and keep them in the running for the play-offs.

:19:45.:19:49.

Despite their last Pontypridd date, Llandovery move into second place,

:19:50.:19:54.

Swansea and Nice are rooted to the bottom. Neuer-macro as I am sure you

:19:55.:20:00.

are aware, David Moffett, the former chief executive of the WRU is back

:20:01.:20:03.

in Wales and has made no secret of the fact he wants to be the next

:20:04.:20:07.

chairman of the WRU. He has accused the current Administration of being

:20:08.:20:12.

undemocratic and dictatorial and has called for a grassroots revolt in

:20:13.:20:15.

order for him to implement his alternative vision.

:20:16.:20:20.

He is the colourful character who keeps coming back. Chief executive

:20:21.:20:28.

of the WRU from 2002-2005, David Moffett revolutionised rugby in

:20:29.:20:32.

Wales. Creating the region's falling out with plenty of fans when one of

:20:33.:20:35.

them, the Celtic Warriors, was disbanded. He left before the end of

:20:36.:20:40.

his contract to return to New Zealand. But then he came back in

:20:41.:20:46.

2008 as chief executive of Regional Rugby Wales. Representing them

:20:47.:20:50.

against the WRU, in a High Court battle over player release. And now

:20:51.:20:58.

he is back again. Hello, everybody. This time, he wants to be the

:20:59.:21:03.

chairman of the WRU. On Friday he unveiled his vision for the future

:21:04.:21:07.

of Welsh rugby. Among other things the manifesto includes proposals to

:21:08.:21:11.

invest more money in grassroots rugby, to change the way the game is

:21:12.:21:17.

governed and the introduction of five-year rolling franchises for the

:21:18.:21:20.

professional sides. Before we get stuck into the detail, a lot of

:21:21.:21:24.

cynics raised their eyebrows when you did return to Wales. Let's get

:21:25.:21:28.

this out of the way first. How can you reassure the doubters that this

:21:29.:21:32.

is not just a big ego trip? Well, I am never one to have an ego anyway.

:21:33.:21:39.

I like to think that I am reasonably humble sort of guy. Why I am here is

:21:40.:21:44.

because I have an incredible passion for Welsh rugby and hopefully that

:21:45.:21:47.

came through today. You say you want to resurrect the community game. You

:21:48.:21:52.

feel it is currently being kept poor. Why is that? What would you do

:21:53.:21:58.

to change that? It is being kept poor for a number of reasons. The

:21:59.:22:02.

first is that the union decided to play down the debt earlier than it

:22:03.:22:07.

needed to, so it is a bit like you saying to your family, I am going to

:22:08.:22:12.

pay down my mortgage very quickly and you guys can't eat for the next

:22:13.:22:16.

three or four years. It is that sort of thing. They did not need to do

:22:17.:22:21.

that. You don't buy their story that they are tied to this covenant,

:22:22.:22:25.

which means they can't restructure? You see, that sort of an attitude is

:22:26.:22:28.

what prevailed over Europe. They said, you know, that ERC will never

:22:29.:22:37.

be removed and it will always be run by the unions. But that is not the

:22:38.:22:43.

way it happened. So all those things can be negotiated with the bank.

:22:44.:22:47.

Like the interest rates, like the term, like the covenants. The

:22:48.:22:52.

manifesto stressed the need for investment to nourish the

:22:53.:22:54.

grassroots, but where would the extra cash come from? Moffat

:22:55.:22:57.

believes it is already sitting in the union's accounts. There is a

:22:58.:23:04.

reserve their off ?11 million. They have refused to answer me what it is

:23:05.:23:10.

represented by. That is what you would -- that is where you would

:23:11.:23:14.

start. They say the reserves do not exist. But why are they in the

:23:15.:23:19.

annual report? As liquid reserves, or assets, which cannot be asked --

:23:20.:23:27.

accessed. An acid is something you can get access to. Access to top

:23:28.:23:30.

players is another pressing priority. This season we have seen

:23:31.:23:34.

Sam Warburton become Wales' first and so far only centrally contracted

:23:35.:23:39.

player but David Moffett has a different plan. I think central

:23:40.:23:43.

contracts are in trouble right around the world. I came up with the

:23:44.:23:46.

suggestion of combined player contract, where the union, the

:23:47.:23:51.

professional team and the player are all signatories to it and the money

:23:52.:23:56.

from it comes from both the union and the professional teams. I

:23:57.:24:00.

believe that a combined player contract will be the way of the

:24:01.:24:04.

future and I think Wales can be right at the forefront of actually

:24:05.:24:08.

deciding some -- designing something that is innovative and is

:24:09.:24:14.

successful. David Moffett's ambition to return to the helm of Welsh rugby

:24:15.:24:18.

is clear but a number of obstacles remain, not least garnering support

:24:19.:24:23.

from the community game that women -- that will enable him to stand for

:24:24.:24:27.

election. We have canvassed opinion, beginning at Pontypridd, where his

:24:28.:24:31.

legacy is a little tarnished. He did Pontypridd no favours 11 years ago

:24:32.:24:36.

and we don't see why he would do it for is a game so I don't think we

:24:37.:24:41.

will support his attempt to become an independent chairman of the WRU.

:24:42.:24:45.

We were the ones to lose out with the demise of the Warriors. You want

:24:46.:24:49.

something more fresh, and I don't know if David Moffett is the man to

:24:50.:24:53.

do it to be honest. We took a trip to division five's Southwest, where

:24:54.:25:01.

other grave where laying. I am sure the changes he is proposing in his

:25:02.:25:06.

manifesto will do a world of good. We need something shaking up in

:25:07.:25:11.

Welsh rugby at the moment. He might have the support, see how close you

:25:12.:25:17.

can get. This will do something here because club rugby at this level is

:25:18.:25:22.

virtually dying on its feet. He's got the interests of rugby in Wales

:25:23.:25:28.

that his heart. Whether he sees enough to write things down on paper

:25:29.:25:31.

where he can carry them out is another matter. So what is next for

:25:32.:25:37.

you, David? You have launched the manifesto today. You are looking for

:25:38.:25:41.

nomination to run for the board and then ultimately to try and take over

:25:42.:25:45.

the chairmanship. Do you genuinely believe it can happen? Well, I would

:25:46.:25:49.

not be verified or not. A lot of people have always underestimated me

:25:50.:25:53.

in my life and I am happy with that because I can surprise them. If you

:25:54.:25:58.

do become chairman, would you work alongside Roger Lewis as Chief

:25:59.:26:02.

Executive? My view about that is very simple. The Chief Executive

:26:03.:26:06.

actually has to work alongside the chairman, because that is the chain

:26:07.:26:10.

of command. The chairman is the chairman of the board. The board

:26:11.:26:17.

appoints the Chief Executive. So it is entirely up to the chief

:26:18.:26:19.

executive to work with the chairman of the board foot and it is not the

:26:20.:26:26.

other way around. I am here for the long-term. That needs to understood.

:26:27.:26:32.

But if I have not been able to convince people that there is a

:26:33.:26:34.

middle way of doing things then I will take that on the chin.

:26:35.:26:41.

Interesting stuff and that manifesto, a thousand words, he has

:26:42.:26:45.

put a lot of work into that, a lot of thought into it. I discussed it

:26:46.:26:49.

on Friday night's programme, Martyn said you have to give the guy a

:26:50.:26:53.

chance to air his views if he has put that work into it. He has worked

:26:54.:26:58.

for regional or be before and the WH, what have you made of his return

:26:59.:27:04.

to the fray? Whatever anybody has made of it, it is democracy, we want

:27:05.:27:07.

to see people, he is coming back into Wales and has people talking

:27:08.:27:11.

about things and has guys on their toes and we're not just electing Joe

:27:12.:27:15.

down the road because we know him well and he is a good old boy. He

:27:16.:27:19.

really is coming in with a statement and there is a long way to go to

:27:20.:27:24.

displace a become the new chairman but it is interesting. He has put

:27:25.:27:28.

work into it. He is an intelligent guy. You could argue the regional

:27:29.:27:32.

debate is a massive one, but would we have won as many titles and been

:27:33.:27:36.

successful at national level if we did not have that change back in the

:27:37.:27:40.

day? I don't know. The Academy seems to work well. He knows his stuff.

:27:41.:27:46.

His CV is very good. I think he is a long way from becoming the chairman.

:27:47.:27:51.

He does have to persuade the grassroots to believe in this plan.

:27:52.:27:54.

We had a taster of some views from some clubs in that piece, by no

:27:55.:27:58.

means scientific. He will divide opinion, he is a controversial guy.

:27:59.:28:03.

Let's talk about the specifics in the manifesto, one of which make the

:28:04.:28:07.

headlines. The notion of combined contracts. We have talked about

:28:08.:28:10.

central contracts and he mentioned he thinks they are a thing of the

:28:11.:28:16.

past globally. It makes sense to have a dual contracts between the

:28:17.:28:20.

union and the regions? It is total sense and to hear him say he thinks

:28:21.:28:24.

central contracts are dying globally, I thought that was the way

:28:25.:28:28.

forward and the dual contract is the way forward because speaking to the

:28:29.:28:33.

coaches and the administrators at the regions, a huge part of their

:28:34.:28:36.

budget goes on Welsh players and they don't see them for a handful of

:28:37.:28:41.

games. It makes sense for both parties to work together, to keep

:28:42.:28:45.

the best players in Wales. We have missed the boat in many ways because

:28:46.:28:48.

so many of the great players have gone but I think going forward if

:28:49.:28:51.

they could come to an agreement together and have a dual contract

:28:52.:28:55.

player, that is definitely the way forward. The coach's perspective? I

:28:56.:29:02.

agree, they need to work together. It makes sense. The regions can't

:29:03.:29:06.

keep picking up if a player decides he has an opportunity in France, the

:29:07.:29:11.

regions pick up the salary and they still get the same amount of time

:29:12.:29:14.

out of that player. It is only right that they work together and it is

:29:15.:29:18.

the way forward. Briefly, another thing mentioned was the ideal of

:29:19.:29:21.

rolling franchises for the professional teams, five-year

:29:22.:29:27.

rolling franchises. A team that is not currently having professional

:29:28.:29:30.

status can aspire to that and perhaps it would raise standards. If

:29:31.:29:34.

a failing franchise is not living up to its name it has the threat of

:29:35.:29:41.

being taken away. If it is failing in terms of the infrastructure and

:29:42.:29:44.

not delivering on a number of things, fine, but in terms of the

:29:45.:29:50.

team not performing well, I don't understand how for example in Super

:29:51.:29:53.

League there is already teams existing as a franchise, already to

:29:54.:29:58.

going there as a business already prospering butter... With the

:29:59.:30:06.

stadium, With academies, making the tradition, they have a competition

:30:07.:30:09.

to play in. What would happen if one of the regions,

:30:10.:30:48.

will wait what happens with interest. Let's round up more action

:30:49.:30:50.

from the Dragons and Scarlets. We'll begin with the Dragons who were away

:30:51.:30:52.

to Zebre. interest. Let's round up more action

:30:53.:30:54.

from the Dragons and Defeat last week saw the Dragon slipped to

:30:55.:31:03.

ninth. Talent for latter was making his first start since the Six

:31:04.:31:05.

Nations. Brendon Leonard was waiting for it.

:31:06.:31:29.

I think it has been judged to be pulled down. Off goes Taulupe

:31:30.:31:49.

Faletau. There is the first try. It had to come from that Zebre

:31:50.:31:55.

pressure. Ashley Smith. Gets a miracle ball into Patrick Leech. It

:31:56.:32:10.

must be a try. Lovely dummy at the end.

:32:11.:32:22.

Should be just a take and give. Ashley Smith scores a try in the

:32:23.:32:31.

corner that the Newport Gwent Dragons. Zebre to the ten metre

:32:32.:32:49.

line. Penalty given. No problem for the fly-half. Zebre back in front.

:32:50.:33:01.

Zebre on the rampage. Leonard again. This is looking dangerous. Just

:33:02.:33:14.

didn't get the bounce. All hands to the pump again for the Dragons.

:33:15.:33:23.

Penalty given. Referee just playing the advantage. Now he gives it. This

:33:24.:33:34.

could take Zebre a converted try to the good. Three minutes to go, what

:33:35.:33:44.

have the Dragons got? Driving up to the Zebre 22. Wayne Evans, poised.

:33:45.:33:54.

Jeb and Groves, all the way. A tryout of nothing for the Dragons.

:33:55.:33:59.

Levelled it up. The Scarlet 's were confident having

:34:00.:34:21.

not lost at home to, act for more than a decade. John Davies gets them

:34:22.:34:37.

on the scoreboard immediately. What have the Scala 's got coming

:34:38.:34:57.

this time? It is on the Gareth Davies to poach yet another try.

:34:58.:35:13.

Won't quite go for him. Delicious. Delicious. Break out why Phillips.

:35:14.:35:33.

Turnbull. Josh Turnbull is going all the way. A spectacular Scarlet try.

:35:34.:35:55.

The ball is stolen. Quickly taken. He has gone over.

:35:56.:36:09.

They are back defending again. It is easy. That was very nice. Griffin.

:36:10.:36:27.

Great ball to Michael Swift. Swift transferred to Henshaw. Henshaw has

:36:28.:36:37.

gone over in the corner. Phillips, two metres short of the try-line.

:36:38.:36:49.

Scala 's go again. Yes! A try will give them two bonus points. They

:36:50.:36:58.

have done it. That is brilliant work by Connacht. Underneath the post. A

:36:59.:37:05.

fourth try for them. Real thriller in West Wales. No change in the top

:37:06.:37:09.

four after the weekend. 25 each out in Zebre, not what you

:37:10.:37:44.

were looking for? We take every game as it comes. But Scala 's, with that

:37:45.:37:51.

win today made a big statement. It is so tight. We will do everything

:37:52.:37:56.

we can. So pleased with the boys in Zebre. But disappointed with the

:37:57.:38:04.

results, we would like to have one. But the result against Connacht. We

:38:05.:38:24.

have Zebre. We will be fighting till the end. It makes it very

:38:25.:38:28.

interesting in the bottom half of the league. Every match means

:38:29.:38:33.

something right now. Victory was vital for the Scala 's to stay in

:38:34.:38:38.

the top six but they did get to bonus points out of that one? We

:38:39.:38:45.

have preconceived ideas. Connacht are a tough side to beat as the

:38:46.:38:51.

Dragons found out last week. Scala 's will be disappointed they

:38:52.:38:58.

conceded four tries, but they will be dangerous for the rest of the

:38:59.:39:03.

season. I think top four is probably a bit too far off, but top six. OK,

:39:04.:39:08.

thanks for your company tonight. But all we have time for on Scrum V, but

:39:09.:39:16.

it will begin online as soon as the credits started to roll. Happy

:39:17.:39:20.

Mother's Day to all of you out there. Goodbye for now.
