It is crunch time in the profession macro. It has been a bad weekend | :00:22. | :00:30.
for the champions. That tribal give Glasgow a bonus point. And they | :00:30. | :00:38.
left the back door wide open for their closest rivals. Jon Davies | :00:38. | :00:43.
saw the defence drifting across... Meanwhile, in Division Three South | :00:43. | :00:51.
West, they are getting tips from third top. They are so committed. | :00:51. | :00:58.
They turn up from work and do it for the love of the game. | :00:58. | :01:05.
London Welsh reflect on a traumatic season. To have five points | :01:05. | :01:11.
sanctioned was a big blow. Welcome to Scrum V. There may well be one | :01:11. | :01:17.
more twist in this play-off race. Jonathan Davies and Kingsley Jones | :01:17. | :01:24.
are here to assess play. We will start with Friday night's clash | :01:24. | :01:34.
:01:34. | :01:39. | ||
between Glasgow and the Ospreys. Graham Morrison and John Barclay | :01:39. | :01:49.
:01:49. | :02:15. | ||
were playing what would turn out to MacArthur. Support comes from John | :02:15. | :02:25.

resounding victory. It has been disappointing, but the boys did | :06:19. | :06:24.
fight hard and try to get back into the gum. They are bitterly | :06:24. | :06:33.
disappointed. Meanwhile, back in South Wales, to room-mates were | :06:33. | :06:43.

I am reading and he would leave me alone. He has asked a couple of | :07:07. | :07:15.
questions, but his medical knowledge is limited. There is a | :07:15. | :07:22.
lot of banter amongst the boys. However, you have to make sure you | :07:22. | :07:32.
:07:32. | :07:39. | ||
concentrate on the game and deliver the right result for the Scarlets. | :07:39. | :07:42.
The Scarlets have won their last five fixtures in a row. They have | :07:42. | :07:52.

Blues could not finish it off. A got a second try! That could be the | :10:35. | :10:45.
:10:45. | :11:05. | ||
try that heads the Scarlets towards the middle. It is a triumph for | :11:05. | :11:15.
:11:15. | :11:15. | ||
Scarlets! A little bit nervous, but it was all about winning. We did | :11:15. | :11:20.
not talk about it before the game, but in the back of our minds, we | :11:20. | :11:25.
knew we had a golden opportunity to take another step towards the play- | :11:25. | :11:35.
:11:35. | :11:48. | ||
offs. This is how the top half of Over the course of the season, | :11:48. | :11:54.
Ospreys were the meanest. They conceded five on Friday. Were they | :11:54. | :12:04.
:12:04. | :12:07. | ||
are bad, are or were Glasgow just too good? Glasgow were really good. | :12:07. | :12:11.
They have been aggressive in their defence, the Ospreys. For some | :12:11. | :12:21.
:12:21. | :12:24. | ||
reason, they were passive on Friday. Glasgow took advantage of that. | :12:25. | :12:32.
There are three off loads there. It is one of those things where it was | :12:32. | :12:42.
:12:42. | :12:43. | ||
just strange to see that happen again. I think Jones misses again. | :12:43. | :12:49.
Those attacks, you don't usually see the Ospreys miss. You do have | :12:49. | :12:53.
to give credit to Glasgow though. They have gone about their business | :12:53. | :13:03.
:13:03. | :13:04. | ||
quite be all season. They have built a confidence to throw the | :13:04. | :13:11.
ball about. They all chip in. It was strange though. Even the line- | :13:11. | :13:21.
:13:21. | :13:21. | ||
out fell to pieces. They had opportunities. One line-out goes | :13:21. | :13:29.
astray and then the same again. Not only in the line-out, again at the | :13:29. | :13:37.
meat inside the Glasgow 22. They were all very poor. All of the | :13:37. | :13:47.
scrums as well. They are usually so powerful. That is their platform. | :13:47. | :13:52.
It was as if they said, it has been a long season and we have given it | :13:52. | :14:02.
:14:02. | :14:04. | ||
our best shot. Unfortunately, it was not good enough. Between the | :14:04. | :14:13.
Scarlets and Cardiff Blues, the Scarlets have won most of the Games. | :14:13. | :14:19.
What was the problem? A Scarlets were a little bit more experienced | :14:19. | :14:24.
and clever. They had a better scrum and brought in some good tactics at | :14:24. | :14:32.
the line-out. They have shifted the ball to the back. The Scarlets | :14:32. | :14:42.
:14:42. | :14:43. | ||
cleverly stay away from the attempted drive. It is all a bit | :14:43. | :14:53.
:14:53. | :14:59. | ||
loose and untidy. Here, we are just on the half-time. There is | :14:59. | :15:05.
inaccuracy again. There is a scrum and scarlet have the upper hand. | :15:05. | :15:12.
They do get a penalty. When the Blues to get the line-out correct, | :15:12. | :15:18.
there is great accuracy. Damage is done behind the gain line and the | :15:18. | :15:22.
ball is forced. It was the story all night. This is the last play of | :15:22. | :15:32.
:15:32. | :15:33. | ||
the game and Owen Williams produced an unforced error. I think the | :15:33. | :15:36.
inexperience of the young players in the Cardiff Blues showed on the | :15:36. | :15:46.
:15:46. | :15:51. | ||
And they didn't really go for that bonus point at try, will that come | :15:51. | :15:56.
back to haunt them? Treviso will come to spoil and slow the game | :15:56. | :15:59.
down, and this is where the Scarlets have got to get the ball | :15:59. | :16:04.
into the hands of the backs. This is the danger men. You have got | :16:04. | :16:10.
Scott Williams, Jonathan Davies Andy Williams. They have to get the | :16:10. | :16:14.
ball into these players, they are the ones who are going to win them | :16:14. | :16:19.
games. Again, it is good to see Priestland back. He takes the ball | :16:19. | :16:24.
to the line, looks for space. They create opportunities, but I think | :16:24. | :16:29.
they have to open it up against Treviso, give the ball to these | :16:29. | :16:36.
boys. George North was quiet yesterday. I think it has been a | :16:36. | :16:41.
problem. Going back to the Ospreys, they have had so many injuries this | :16:41. | :16:49.
cf, players have that Paula Walker is injured -- players have left and | :16:49. | :16:52.
players are injured and they are curtailed in the way they want to | :16:52. | :16:56.
play. They had a scrum half playing play. They had a scrum half playing | :16:56. | :16:58.
everywhere. The Scarlets, they are all fit and raring to go, and I | :16:58. | :17:04.
think that is the avenue where they could really have a go, once they | :17:04. | :17:08.
get to the semi-finals. I think get to the semi-finals. I think | :17:08. | :17:11.
they have to go away took Ulster, and unless they bring those players | :17:11. | :17:15.
into the game, they will find it difficult. They have to bring the | :17:15. | :17:19.
ball to the best players. The forwards are doing a good job but | :17:19. | :17:23.
they have to get the ball to those dangerous players. Good to see a | :17:23. | :17:27.
couple of Welsh internationals back, Bradley Davies and Rhys Priestland. | :17:27. | :17:32.
It was. As Jonathon said, Priestland took the ball to the | :17:32. | :17:36.
line, it looked as though he hadn't been away from the game. In the | :17:36. | :17:39.
last 15 minutes, it became a much more entertaining and competitive | :17:39. | :17:45.
game. A lot of it was bound to those two players being back. | :17:45. | :17:53.
Ashdown to. And Richard Hibbard, he limped off, the Ospreys today have | :17:53. | :17:56.
said they considered a low severity injury and hopefully he will have | :17:56. | :18:00.
some positive news on that, we will keep you posted. When London Welsh | :18:00. | :18:04.
won promotion to the English Premiership, it was considered a | :18:04. | :18:08.
triumph for the outsider against the Establishment, but all, be, | :18:08. | :18:12.
there were too many obstacles to overcome and relegation last week | :18:12. | :18:14.
has raised questions about their very survival. | :18:14. | :18:18.
To say it has been a tortuous season for London Welsh would be an | :18:18. | :18:22.
understatement. To get to the Premiership, they had to do | :18:22. | :18:25.
business on the field and off it, with a court victory over the RFU, | :18:25. | :18:28.
but defeat last week against Northampton saw them tumble through | :18:29. | :18:33.
the trapdoor. They had other, number of obstacles but ultimately, | :18:33. | :18:36.
the odds were stacked against them. We didn't have enough time or | :18:36. | :18:41.
enough money and the Premiership is the big boys be, as far as money is | :18:41. | :18:46.
concerned, and it was always going to be a bit of a miracle. If you | :18:46. | :18:51.
take into consideration the promotion on July 1st, the mad rush | :18:51. | :18:55.
at the words, in all respects, not just the playing staff, but the off | :18:55. | :19:02.
the field staff. On the field, they have punched above their weight, | :19:02. | :19:07.
with victories over Sale, London Irish, Exeter and Bath, but off the | :19:07. | :19:11.
pitch they have suffered most. There was no incident more damaging | :19:11. | :19:14.
than the deduction of five points for fielding an illegible player. | :19:14. | :19:19.
It is an issue that still rankles. Ultimately, to have five points | :19:19. | :19:24.
sanctioned was a big blow. We didn't expect as many as that, we | :19:24. | :19:29.
thought maybe one or two, but I have five, for a criminal act, we | :19:29. | :19:33.
thought it was a bit heavy. But those of the rules and we have to | :19:33. | :19:38.
face up to them. It took the wind out of our sales. The incident in | :19:38. | :19:44.
question centred around Tyson Keats. The New Zealander had been | :19:44. | :19:48.
registered under a fake passport. The club was fined 15,000 and | :19:48. | :19:51.
docked five points, but in a separate disciplinary hearing it, | :19:51. | :19:56.
team manager Mike Scott was found guilty of falsifying documents and | :19:56. | :19:59.
banned from rugby for life. Evidence according to the club, one | :19:59. | :20:06.
man was to blame. The punishment didn't fit the crime. The guy who | :20:06. | :20:11.
was responsible for it all, I don't know where he can't -- came from, | :20:11. | :20:18.
but it was a mistake, and he dropped us in it, without any doubt. | :20:18. | :20:22.
What I am disappointed in his we reported it to the RFU, we found | :20:22. | :20:27.
out and told them about it and we got punished. Surely London Welsh, | :20:27. | :20:30.
as his employer, is ultimately responsible for any fraudulent | :20:31. | :20:36.
actions he committed? Which is why, as soon as we were aware of it, we | :20:36. | :20:40.
reported it to the RFU. As soon as we were alerted to the fact that | :20:40. | :20:44.
there might be some began this, we reported it to the police, the RFU | :20:44. | :20:48.
and the RFL. We did all that we could and more once we became aware | :20:48. | :20:53.
of the fact, we acted as best as we could. The fact remains that London | :20:53. | :20:56.
Welsh have been relegated and the fear now is the entire edifice | :20:56. | :21:00.
could come crumbling down. The chief benefactor at Kelvin Brian | :21:00. | :21:04.
has pulled out after 20 years of support. The Chief Executive has | :21:04. | :21:09.
resigned. It is rumoured that by chairman John Taylor has also left. | :21:09. | :21:12.
With money in short supply, there is every chance players and coaches | :21:12. | :21:20.
might jump ship. We have to respect the players' wishes and where they | :21:20. | :21:24.
want to be an some players may think, I want to be part of a | :21:24. | :21:27.
Premiership club rather than the Championship club. Even if there | :21:28. | :21:31.
are contractual commitments, we need to recognise that if players | :21:31. | :21:34.
genuinely want to move on, we should respect their wishes and do | :21:34. | :21:42.
what is in their best interests. The board had asked me to stay on. | :21:42. | :21:47.
And to fulfil my contract, which I am more than prepared to do. So we | :21:47. | :21:51.
will see how things develop in the coming weeks. A number of big | :21:51. | :21:54.
decisions will need to be made over the coming weeks and months. | :21:54. | :21:58.
Perhaps the biggest of all is where London Welsh will play their home | :21:58. | :22:02.
games next season. They had, of course, been playing at the Kassam | :22:02. | :22:06.
Stadium in Oxford, but the ground that that could be beyond the | :22:06. | :22:09.
budget for the Championship club. If they do leave, the chances are | :22:09. | :22:13.
they will have to return to the familiar but less salubrious | :22:13. | :22:18.
surroundings of Old Deer Park. like to think that we owe it to the | :22:18. | :22:21.
supporters in the Oxford area to look at all the opportunities | :22:21. | :22:26.
available in the area to sustain the momentum develop to the last 12 | :22:26. | :22:29.
months to the Oxford area. I would like to do all I can to ensure | :22:29. | :22:34.
there are possibilities there. We are in mid-April, we need to make | :22:34. | :22:38.
tangible progress in the next few weeks to be clear what is a viable | :22:38. | :22:42.
option next season. The club is refusing to play the Blame Game, | :22:42. | :22:45.
despite insinuations from some quarters that the RFU never wanted | :22:45. | :22:49.
dead in the top flight and did everything to get rid of them. But | :22:49. | :22:54.
beneath the surface, it is not hard to detect a sense of frustration, | :22:54. | :22:59.
if not outright injustice. If they win their last two games and end up | :22:59. | :23:03.
within five points of the 11th place team, of which it considered | :23:03. | :23:07.
that a moral victory? I think he would have everybody, a place that, | :23:07. | :23:12.
the board and their coaches at the door of the RFU. I think that is a | :23:12. | :23:16.
very good question. If we do end up within five points off the | :23:16. | :23:22.
penultimate club, then there will be some serious questions asked. | :23:22. | :23:27.
Well, as it happens, that is a moot point, because London Welsh lost | :23:27. | :23:31.
their penultimate game to London Irish yesterday. Kingsley, a lot of | :23:31. | :23:35.
suppressed anger in that piece. You feel as though there was an agenda | :23:35. | :23:39.
against London Welsh from the powers that be? Personally, to | :23:40. | :23:44.
start with, they were going well, but the minute that Sale Sharks | :23:44. | :23:48.
were below London Welsh and went above them instantly without | :23:48. | :23:52.
playing a game, London Welsh went to the bottom, it took the wind out | :23:52. | :23:57.
of everybody's sales and it was a big motivation for Sale Sharks and | :23:57. | :24:01.
London Irish about that, and it has been an uphill battle since. I | :24:01. | :24:04.
really enjoyed it there for the first four months but I knew things | :24:04. | :24:11.
would be tough after that. I have also been involved in. Deductions | :24:11. | :24:15.
myself at Sale for an ineligible player -- points deductions. By | :24:15. | :24:21.
five minutes and they got fined 5,000. They are the rules, it is | :24:21. | :24:25.
very disappointing and from where I sit, one man has done this to a lot | :24:25. | :24:29.
of other people and it is such a sad thing, because all up that work | :24:29. | :24:34.
from a lot of good people, a lot of good work. This conspiracy theory | :24:34. | :24:37.
that London Welsh were upstarts and the RFU and the PR well did not | :24:37. | :24:42.
want them in the Premiership, is there anything to that? Again, you | :24:42. | :24:47.
look at the clubs. It has to be open. How can you say that any team | :24:47. | :24:51.
can get promoted obligated but only two teams can fit the criteria? | :24:51. | :24:58.
They fought that battle, they've won that fair and square. I don't | :24:58. | :25:01.
think the powers-that-be wanted them out of bed but they haven't | :25:01. | :25:06.
had a lot of help or sympathy. -- out of it. I don't think you can | :25:06. | :25:10.
say they didn't want them in there, but it London Welsh are in there, | :25:10. | :25:13.
it doesn't help English rugby in any way, that is one way of looking | :25:13. | :25:17.
at it. But there are a lot of good men in London Welsh and they have | :25:17. | :25:21.
worked really hard to get where they are. They didn't get promoted | :25:21. | :25:25.
until July 7th and so then when you buy players, it is difficult. Jones | :25:25. | :25:30.
is a very good coach, and also, if Kelvin Brian walks away, that says | :25:30. | :25:34.
a lot, because he has been there through thick and thin as a great | :25:34. | :25:39.
supporter, so he has just got sick of everything, the politics, and he | :25:39. | :25:43.
has gone, I can't be bothered any more with this rubbish, and I think | :25:43. | :25:47.
that is the problem they have had. They have been very unlucky, they | :25:47. | :25:50.
have done exceptionally well but with everything thrown against them, | :25:50. | :25:55.
and I agree with Kingsley, one man's stupidity has really cost | :25:55. | :26:01.
them their position. Kingsley, briefly, we ventured people leaving. | :26:01. | :26:07.
Jones said he will stay, will Gavin stay and will you stay? I am not | :26:07. | :26:11.
sure about Gavin, but from my own point of view, I enjoyed it last | :26:11. | :26:16.
year, but I do have commitments in Russia. Maybe I will go up two days | :26:16. | :26:20.
a week in and hopefully they can bounce back. I think a lot of | :26:20. | :26:25.
things are happening there right now to try and make sure that it is | :26:25. | :26:30.
not a case of down toning things, but coming back up. It is not easy, | :26:30. | :26:35.
Bristol are spending a lot of money and it is a difficult lead to get | :26:35. | :26:38.
our top, so they have been there and done it before and hopefully | :26:38. | :26:42.
they will go back up. -- get out of. All the best of luck for them. Back | :26:42. | :26:46.
to the Pro 12 and Ulster were looking to consolidate their place | :26:46. | :26:51.
at the top band take a step further to a home semi-final. But first, | :26:51. | :26:54.

to keep the momentum of this attack going. There it is all Wayne Evans. | :29:11. | :29:17.

I have had a couple of injuries, and it is time for change and a new | :29:27. | :29:33.

Now, is there a place with more rugby stars per capita than a small | :36:25. | :36:35.

village in Swansea? Rick O'Shea has been along to investigate. | :36:40. | :36:44.
Welcome to the heart of the Swansea Valley. It is training night at the | :36:44. | :36:49.
start of a big week for the little club. They have to away fixtures. | :36:50. | :36:56.
If they win them both, they will go up as champions in Division Three | :36:56. | :37:02.
South West. We have a fantastic group of players who are skilful, | :37:02. | :37:12.
:37:12. | :37:13. | ||
dedicated and committed to the club. They deserve the success they have. | :37:13. | :37:23.

Are the Champions. They have always had a good club, but over the past | :37:47. | :37:54.
few years they have become something special. The last couple | :37:54. | :38:02.
of seasons the support from everyone in the village has been | :38:02. | :38:10.
fantastic. The junior section is growing. There seemed to be | :38:10. | :38:20.

two of operation we are the champions. They are on their way. | :38:36. | :38:43.
What is going on? I have been doing this for a few years. I enjoyed | :38:43. | :38:49.
being with my mates are giving something back to my local club. It | :38:49. | :38:55.
is not about me, it is about the boys. They put in so much | :38:55. | :39:01.
commitment. They don't get paid are anything, they just have some money | :39:01. | :39:11.
:39:11. | :39:11. | ||
towards their kits. It is quite humbling, how much they do. Home | :39:11. | :39:21.

There will be too competitive teams out there to go. It is a perfect | :39:37. | :39:46.
day for me. One of the best days of the year. And someone will buy you | :39:46. | :39:56.
:39:56. | :40:00. | ||
a pint in a moment and it will be complete. I think I should buy -- | :40:00. | :40:10.
:40:10. | :40:40. | ||
by them a pint. It is still nip and You cannot fault the effort, it was | :40:40. | :40:50.
:40:50. | :40:54. | ||
They tried their heartfelt, but unfortunately, it did not happen on | :40:55. | :41:04.
the day. Even though they lost, or what a game of rugby. This isn't | :41:04. | :41:13.
just rugby, this is Welsh rugby, and this is special. | :41:13. | :41:18.
So no champagne for them, but they are still top of the league. They | :41:18. | :41:25.
are 24 points clear of their nearest rivals who have five games | :41:25. | :41:32.
left. They need to win all five with a bonus point to get ahead. We | :41:32. | :41:37.
will keep you posted on their progress over the next couple of | :41:37. | :41:44.
weeks. Let us go back to the Pro12. Next Friday is the final round of | :41:44. | :41:53.
the regular season. There are for play-off places and there are five | :41:54. | :42:02.
contenders still in the game. did look at the running on Friday | :42:02. | :42:09.

finals. -- be Scarlets. It will be a tough battle. The general | :42:40. | :42:44.
consensus seems to be that if the Ospreys got there, there would be | :42:45. | :42:54.
:42:55. | :42:56. | ||
better equipped. There have been some quality players on the bench. | :42:56. | :43:04.
Gareth Maule has been exceptional as well. They need everyone to | :43:04. | :43:14.
:43:14. | :43:14. | ||
fight for their place and for the players to be on form. The last two | :43:14. | :43:20.
games, they have not really played to their best and they have won | :43:20. | :43:28.
quite convincingly. As I mentioned earlier, they have so many injuries, | :43:28. | :43:38.
:43:38. | :43:43. | ||
the Ospreys, they do not have that pace. The Scarlets, they just need | :43:43. | :43:46.
parity and they need to bring in their back line because that is | :43:46. | :43:53.
their strength. If they can do that, then why not? We will have to leave | :43:53. | :43:58. |
