Good evening. What a week it's been at the Welsh Open, with shocks, wild

:00:31.:00:38.

cards and outsiders upsetting the odds. Would the trend continue

:00:39.:00:43.

quarterfinals day? A the very few have expected. We saw 19-year-old

:00:44.:00:53.

Rocky take on Scotland's Scott Donaldson. World number four Judd

:00:54.:00:59.

Trump was against number eight, Barry Hawkins. The two Stewarts,

:01:00.:01:05.

former world champion and second seed Bingham versus former world

:01:06.:01:13.

number five Carrington. And two men never won a ranking title, Robert

:01:14.:01:16.

Milkins against Norwegian Kurt Maflin. We will star with the former

:01:17.:01:25.

world champion, Stuart Bingham against Stuart Carrington who is

:01:26.:01:28.

enjoying his best ever performance at a ranking event that a crushing

:01:29.:01:31.

start for Carrington as Bingham bounced into a 4-0 lead before

:01:32.:01:37.

Carrington pulls two back and made it 4-2. This is frame five

:01:38.:01:41.

Carrington at the table trailing by ten points.

:01:42.:02:14.

Darren, I you surprised at how nervy Stuart Bingham has got in this

:02:15.:02:22.

match? Definitely, especially with the way he has played the first four

:02:23.:02:28.

frames. There has been quite a few strange shots played by both players

:02:29.:02:31.

so it tells you how much it means to the pair of them out here. It is as

:02:32.:02:36.

if Stewart now is trying not to lose, instead of the way he was

:02:37.:02:40.

playing, playing to win. All of a sudden he is trying to be cagey. He

:02:41.:02:44.

refused the black and he played the blue with a corner pocket instead of

:02:45.:02:48.

the middle pocket which he would do nine times out of ten. Then we have

:02:49.:02:54.

seen it as well with Stuart Carrington, he has played a couple

:02:55.:02:57.

of negative shots where he has put himself into a winning position. It

:02:58.:03:01.

has been a good contest, to be fair. It looked as though it would be

:03:02.:03:05.

totally one-sided and all over in a flash but he has made a match of it.

:03:06.:03:10.

He has got Stuart playing -- feeling very uncomfortable. He has got a

:03:11.:03:14.

good cue ball but he hasn't got the blue. This is now an opportunity for

:03:15.:03:21.

Stuart Carrington, albeit there is ten foot between both balls, but he

:03:22.:03:24.

has got to put a good cue action on this. Plain-ball, top of the cue

:03:25.:03:28.

ball, Pogba blew off one commissioner back down for the pink.

:03:29.:03:33.

He has to, just make sure of the port. This is all about the delivery

:03:34.:03:35.

of the cue. What a shot. The cue ball is not

:03:36.:04:06.

where he wants it to be but, as Darren Morgan said, that was all

:04:07.:04:10.

about the five points on the board, and in that regard he did

:04:11.:04:16.

brilliantly to keep this frame, and therefore the match, alive.

:04:17.:04:24.

The shot really to win the game, he has two options, he can either play

:04:25.:04:31.

pink to the left corner which means swinging the ball right around the

:04:32.:04:35.

table, and I think that is the way he's going to go. He had the other

:04:36.:04:38.

option of playing the pink left-centre but he is going the

:04:39.:04:44.

corner. He has got the pink. That cue ball is coming through. That is

:04:45.:04:49.

a terrific shot. Well played, young man. Well, this is incredible. This

:04:50.:05:04.

black to go for- three. And he has done it. From being dead and buried,

:05:05.:05:12.

suddenly he is right back in the match and it is the former world

:05:13.:05:16.

champion who is rattled. Stuart Bingham leads that Carrington is on

:05:17.:05:21.

the way back. So, could Carrington complete the

:05:22.:05:25.

perfect comeback. Into frame eight with Bing at the table, and he is

:05:26.:05:28.

leading by four points. Superb from the world number two.

:05:29.:05:44.

Under pressure and confidence dropping. That was an excellent

:05:45.:05:54.

snooker. If he does win this match it will be fascinating to hear his

:05:55.:05:56.

thoughts afterwards. Two hours and 55 minutes now in this

:05:57.:06:15.

match. Apparently in the early stages it looks like it would last

:06:16.:06:17.

half this long. Foul. Yes, you could see he was

:06:18.:06:42.

reluctant to play that. He knew he would always give a foul ball a few

:06:43.:06:46.

mystic, which he has done. Still, it is nicely on the yellow and I still

:06:47.:06:50.

think there is a lot of play left in this frame. The green on the side

:06:51.:06:57.

commission, obviously if Stewart can put this colour, red colour, yellow,

:06:58.:07:00.

he has got the perfect opportunity to lay snooker behind the black.

:07:01.:07:29.

You might see him play of this pink to leave an angle of the red to

:07:30.:07:36.

leave the green. He will have already worked out in his mind

:07:37.:07:39.

exactly how weird is going to go about this clearance now and whether

:07:40.:07:44.

he is going to play to pop the green or just leave the snooker and leave

:07:45.:07:49.

the ball, he is already got that planned out. It is just executing

:07:50.:08:00.

the plan now. A little bit short on the pink, but he is still OK. We

:08:01.:08:07.

will soon know. Think to yellow, and does he play to move the green? Or

:08:08.:08:16.

Labour snooker? -- or lay the snooker. I would say he is probably

:08:17.:08:25.

just out to make sure the yellow punched the green around the table,

:08:26.:08:27.

set the cue ball behind the black. Well, he has got way into that. We

:08:28.:08:48.

wanted to be a lot closer to the green and further over to the

:08:49.:08:51.

cushion. He has now only got half the green ball to play with and this

:08:52.:08:56.

is a twitchy little shot. He has just over done that. He is very

:08:57.:09:04.

close again in this frame to being safe. One ball away.

:09:05.:09:10.

Stuart Bingham, 16. Stuart Carrington may get through to this

:09:11.:09:27.

green, I can't imagine him get through to a full ball, but if you

:09:28.:09:33.

could, no, Stuart Bingham must be so relieved. A little nod, this has

:09:34.:09:35.

been hard work since the interval. One thing is for certain, which ever

:09:36.:10:03.

way this match goes, both stuart will remember it, from a different

:10:04.:10:08.

perspective, for a very long time. He is looking at a very clever shot

:10:09.:10:24.

here and he is going to come off the Cushman tried it the green fall in

:10:25.:10:27.

the face and Lisa Whiting behind the black. If it goes right this will be

:10:28.:10:39.

a very, very clever shot. It hasn't. It was a really good idea. I think

:10:40.:10:44.

Stewart can just get to the potting angle of this green.

:10:45.:10:53.

Three hours, are we about to see the key moment in this frame? Yes, he

:10:54.:11:05.

has got it. Stuart Carrington now requires two four points Leuchars.

:11:06.:11:09.

-- snookers. Well, it was incredibly tense and

:11:10.:11:41.

tight end to the frame with the two men going toe to toe with being

:11:42.:11:45.

tried to get over the line of characters struggling to square it

:11:46.:11:49.

out for - four. They needed snookers amid played on for another nine

:11:50.:11:51.

minutes or so before Stuart Carrington conceded in the end.

:11:52.:12:00.

Victory and huge relief for the world number two, securing his place

:12:01.:12:08.

in the world semifinals. At the moment I am still a bit puzzled as

:12:09.:12:13.

to how I got through that but, yes, as semifinal against Rob McInnes, it

:12:14.:12:19.

is going to be tough. He is great to watch and he gets on with it and he

:12:20.:12:23.

is a great lad and I think we turned pro the same year, so he is probably

:12:24.:12:30.

one of the players that underachieved. When he is on one he

:12:31.:12:36.

can steam-roll anyone, so I will have two play like I did before the

:12:37.:12:40.

interval tonight to try and stand a chance. I am looking forward to it.

:12:41.:12:46.

As Bingham says he has Robert Milkins in the semifinal after the

:12:47.:12:50.

world number 42 saw off Kurt Maflin in the other last eight tie. It is

:12:51.:12:56.

the first time Elkins has one in 3/4-finals at the Welsh Open and

:12:57.:12:59.

this was a victory over the Norwegian as he faces a first

:13:00.:13:05.

ranking title. Tonight I came out and Kurt got off to a good start,

:13:06.:13:10.

like he normally does. The scores Woody gets in. I made a cracking

:13:11.:13:15.

break the second frame and it settled me and then I think I got on

:13:16.:13:21.

top of him a bit really. A big turning point in the fourth frame

:13:22.:13:25.

and he missed one or two in the third but he was 50 up in the fourth

:13:26.:13:31.

and I think I cleared up so it gave me the opportunity to kick on. Said

:13:32.:13:37.

to the quarterfinal between two of the worlds top ten, Judd Trump

:13:38.:13:42.

against Barry Hawkins. It was all square at 3-3 after six frames.

:13:43.:13:47.

Let's go into frame seven, with Trump at the table, leading 61-15.

:13:48.:14:02.

Oh, the last thing Judd wanted was that double-kiss. It wasn't an easy

:14:03.:14:08.

safety shot he was faced with that, it has to be said. It was a

:14:09.:14:13.

catastrophe of a double-kiss for Judd. Barry is right a month from

:14:14.:14:23.

now. -- ) amongst them now. Can he produced one of his great

:14:24.:14:26.

clearances? A little careful there with the pot and it didn't quite get

:14:27.:14:30.

the side of the blue that you wanted to be.

:14:31.:14:46.

Three of these four reds are nice and opened the Barry. What a visit

:14:47.:15:00.

this would be if he were able to make this frame, when it looked, for

:15:01.:15:06.

all the world, as though Judd was going to be the one moving within

:15:07.:15:17.

one of the winner. I'm lucky with the in-off in the case from Trump.

:15:18.:15:23.

It is these mistakes that are allowing Barry back to the table.

:15:24.:15:38.

Two or three potential pitfalls if Barry. One be that red there which

:15:39.:15:46.

is near the top cushion which Barry is going to attempt to pop now. It

:15:47.:15:52.

is a little straight on it. Brown seems to be masking the green

:15:53.:15:55.

slightly and the pink is fairly near the cushion that it could only be

:15:56.:16:00.

played at a slow pace into that pocket. The pots that Barry is going

:16:01.:16:11.

to need to make in the course for winning clearance here. He is going

:16:12.:16:13.

to need all the remaining balls. He probably won't need the final

:16:14.:16:30.

black. He could take a high value colour here.

:16:31.:16:39.

He has got to get a good angle here on the yellow so he can get a

:16:40.:16:52.

position on the green, which is slightly awkward with the brand so

:16:53.:16:59.

close to it. -- with the brown so close to it.

:17:00.:17:40.

43. Well, Judd Trump being forced to sit and watch here. He was so close.

:17:41.:17:53.

He could have moved 4-3 ahead. Assuming Barry Hawkins does make the

:17:54.:18:11.

most of the opportunity, Judd has to win the last two frames, if he is to

:18:12.:18:16.

advance to a second Welsh Open semifinal. Ho. A little wobble on

:18:17.:18:30.

the way in, but it was good. He didn't play great Green, Barry, he

:18:31.:18:34.

potted it is likely to thickly and it didn't come across the table for

:18:35.:18:39.

the brand now. This is not great, Barry, he is faced with unmissable

:18:40.:18:44.

blue under pressure, but to try and get reasonably well on the pink, it

:18:45.:18:51.

is a failure to cut back into the centre. It doesn't need the black,

:18:52.:18:55.

which will help him, just blue and pink required to take the lead for

:18:56.:19:02.

the first time in this match. That is a great pot from Barry, he got

:19:03.:19:05.

the cue ball across the table nicely. You don't want to kick on

:19:06.:19:16.

this kind of shot, I can assure you. You can easily miss these so just

:19:17.:19:19.

one good pot, clean contact required. Oh, it is income of the

:19:20.:19:25.

near Chalk. A great performance from Barry Hawkins and a wonderful

:19:26.:19:28.

clearance from that mistake by Judd Trump ante goes into the lead at a

:19:29.:19:30.

crucial stage at 4-3. So, the momentum had swung towards

:19:31.:19:41.

Barry Hawkins and so let's go into frame eight, what would happen then?

:19:42.:19:43.

Trumpet the table and no score. It looks like he's going for this.

:19:44.:19:54.

What a declaration of intent, at the start of what could be the last

:19:55.:20:04.

frame the match. His long pots have certainly not let him down today. It

:20:05.:20:09.

has been the fact that he has broken down when I'm 49, 50, 40, and in the

:20:10.:20:19.

last frame 45. Six out of seven on the long ones for Judd. Can he force

:20:20.:20:28.

this match into what would be a mouthwatering decider?

:20:29.:20:42.

From nothing he has given himself a wonderful opportunity to amass quite

:20:43.:20:48.

a few points here. It must be said that both players pot success in the

:20:49.:20:55.

course of this match is at 86% each and that is pretty low for both of

:20:56.:20:58.

these players, and particularly Judd Trump. And then both of these

:20:59.:21:07.

players are at their best, and their pot success could be in the mid-90s,

:21:08.:21:08.

that is how good they are. Both players have attempted a

:21:09.:21:25.

similar number of pots. Barry Hawkins has missed 16 pots out of

:21:26.:21:33.

117 while Judd has played 111 pots during the course of this match and

:21:34.:21:38.

he has missed 15 of them. That is quite a lot really.

:21:39.:21:52.

He has lost the last three frames, Judd Trump. He had the opportunity

:21:53.:22:15.

there to split the pack, but he wants to use the remaining reds that

:22:16.:22:27.

are away from the main group. Twice they have gone all the way to a

:22:28.:22:33.

decider before. Not this season. They have each won one of those.

:22:34.:23:04.

There would be a lot of people in the crowd here who would absolutely

:23:05.:23:07.

love to see this go all the way. It was Judd 's attempted split,

:23:08.:23:24.

three reds came away from the main group.

:23:25.:23:34.

Broke down on 45 in the preceding frame and that allowed Barry to get

:23:35.:23:41.

back in. It put all the pressure on the world number four.

:23:42.:23:50.

The crowd applauded there but there was a little wince from Judd.

:23:51.:24:00.

Such a big visit to the table, this. No! He made it difficult for

:24:01.:24:13.

himself. And once again whilst at the table on a break of 40 plus he

:24:14.:24:19.

has broken down. 45 in the last frame and 41 on this occasion. Well,

:24:20.:24:29.

Barry Hawkins has one foot in the semifinals.

:24:30.:24:40.

That was a massive pot from Barry. A tremendous pot on the red. It has

:24:41.:24:52.

gone into the pack, and these reds could not have fanned out in the

:24:53.:24:56.

better for Barry Hawkins. As one might go in front of the other to

:24:57.:24:59.

prevent him from rolling a simple wedding here into the left corner? I

:25:00.:25:07.

don't think that pots, you know. Now, then, option two. Does he not

:25:08.:25:13.

one read on to the other make a plant here? Does this just go... ?

:25:14.:25:20.

Plant it was. He's just missed it. Well, that just goes to show what

:25:21.:25:24.

fine margins are involved in winning and losing matches because if Barry

:25:25.:25:27.

could have got through to that read, that simple read, I would have

:25:28.:25:31.

fancied him to clear in the match. As it is we are looking well set now

:25:32.:25:42.

for a deciding frame. From the point of view of the neutrals watching,

:25:43.:25:47.

and here in the arena, maybe they will get what they want.

:25:48.:25:54.

Judd will not have a better chance, having broken down at 41, to get

:25:55.:26:01.

right back in here, with Barry having split the reds, this is a

:26:02.:26:06.

wonderful opportunity to take us all the way. Yes, I think most people

:26:07.:26:15.

found this a difficult match to call, and it has proven to be so.

:26:16.:26:21.

Once again Judd is not ideally positioned on his colour. I think

:26:22.:26:27.

quite rightly just rolling the blue in playing the simple read to the

:26:28.:26:34.

right corner. Sit on the pink if you can hear to stay close to the next

:26:35.:26:46.

read. -- red. That is about perfect. Just two or three more pots away now

:26:47.:26:50.

and taking this into a deciding frame.

:26:51.:27:10.

Red and pink Barry will be left requiring snookers.

:27:11.:27:30.

So, barring a problem here for Judd, he will be coming out for a night

:27:31.:27:34.

frame. -- ninth frame. Now it is Barry 's turn to sit in

:27:35.:27:57.

the chair and ponder what might have been.

:27:58.:28:10.

So, having split the pack, and left it open, this is what Barry was

:28:11.:28:18.

hoping would continue working for him. And after looking out of sorts

:28:19.:28:30.

for most of the match after the interval, Judd is a couple of breaks

:28:31.:28:38.

here have ensured that we will go to a decider. The first break in this

:28:39.:28:48.

frame, 41, now on 48. He looks absolutely focused. The

:28:49.:29:06.

subtle shifts in psychological advantage in snooker are

:29:07.:29:07.

fascinating. Latter one stays, Barry gives a

:29:08.:29:27.

little Lord, and we are going all the way between two of the very best

:29:28.:29:33.

in the world. -- Barry gives a little nod. Barry has made the final

:29:34.:29:47.

here in Wales on three previous occasions, twice losing out to

:29:48.:29:52.

Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump has also come within one win of a Welsh

:29:53.:29:58.

Open final just been beaten by Stephen Maguire when the Scot took

:29:59.:30:10.

his crown in Newport in 2013. Difficult moments for the friends

:30:11.:30:15.

and family of the players, but from the neutral point of view, this is

:30:16.:30:21.

where we hoped this match would take us. 3-1 up at the interval, Judd

:30:22.:30:30.

Trump making the most of the mistakes from Barry Hawkins. Barry

:30:31.:30:39.

Roux was 4-3 ahead. But it is trump -- Barry moves. It is Trump has the

:30:40.:30:47.

advantage in this deciding frame. He is up for this. Brilliant pot. Barry

:30:48.:30:57.

will be ever so disappointed that the shot he played previously didn't

:30:58.:31:03.

take that opportunity. The black is available into the right corner.

:31:04.:31:12.

That will do Judd for now. Looking to get the red above the black to

:31:13.:31:18.

the left-hand side of it, the pot that leaving the black for potting

:31:19.:31:22.

the other red, next to the black. The high side of the blue, just

:31:23.:31:29.

about right. A choice of rates to play for you, really. He could play

:31:30.:31:35.

for the red to the left of the pack. -- a choice of reds. That is a

:31:36.:31:41.

really good position. The third match between these two

:31:42.:32:11.

that has gone all the way. We haven't seen flawless snooker from

:32:12.:32:15.

these two men this afternoon, but it has been thoroughly absorbing. And a

:32:16.:32:23.

real display of character by Judd Trump in the preceding frame to

:32:24.:32:33.

force this to go all the way. Will Barry Hawkins' adrenaline get him

:32:34.:32:38.

over the line or will he start to feel the effects of fatigue after

:32:39.:32:44.

his title winning performance in Preston on Sunday? This is his tenth

:32:45.:32:51.

match in 11 days and Judd is asking questions of him in this decider.

:32:52.:33:04.

Two more loose reds available to Judd before he has to go into the

:33:05.:33:10.

pack of reds although there are two reds behind the pink that could go

:33:11.:33:14.

into this left-hand corner pocket. Just having a look at them now.

:33:15.:33:24.

Definitely set slightly to the top jaw, but that would be a problem to

:33:25.:33:30.

Judd. He can make that quite easily. He is just a bit high on this black.

:33:31.:33:45.

You did say that Judd Trump would come out and be aggressive in this

:33:46.:33:51.

decider, Dominic Ball stop there is another demonstration. How's your

:33:52.:33:58.

luck? One has gone straight back. That is awkward. The cue ball goes

:33:59.:34:08.

to the blue. The blue would have to be a dead straight pot for it to be

:34:09.:34:13.

makeable from such close range. I think the green is a favourite. Goes

:34:14.:34:20.

for the yellow instead. Both very similar box. -- pots. So, Gary --

:34:21.:34:35.

Barry does get back to the table and there is a red behind the pink that

:34:36.:34:37.

could go. Judd Trump breaking down on 32.

:34:38.:34:52.

Looked so good when he was at the table. Is that going to be the

:34:53.:34:59.

definitive mistake which allows Barry Hawkins to move into the

:35:00.:35:05.

semifinals? APPLAUSE

:35:06.:36:02.

You can argue he was slightly unlucky with where the cue ball

:36:03.:36:10.

ended up, right beside the blue, but that was a mistake and it could lead

:36:11.:36:19.

to the end of the road as far as the Welsh Open as concern for Judd

:36:20.:36:22.

Trump. The reds, separated nicely for Barry Hawkins. A really

:36:23.:36:30.

positive, aggressive start to this frame from Judd Trump, but if Barry

:36:31.:36:43.

Hawkins manages to get over the line here it will continue a run of

:36:44.:36:49.

victorious matches which stretches back to the world Grand Prix in

:36:50.:36:56.

Preston. He really is in a rich vein of form. They say winning is a

:36:57.:37:03.

habit. It looks as though that is the case for Barry Hawkins, here.

:37:04.:37:09.

Oh, my goodness me! He cannot believe that. A little wry smile. It

:37:10.:37:17.

looked so good for Barry Hawkins. Yet more drama in this decider. Two

:37:18.:37:20.

points in it. All to play for. Dominic King, I can't believe my

:37:21.:37:41.

eyes. Yes, just pure pressure, I'm afraid. Both these players want to

:37:42.:37:48.

win this match so badly. There was not a lot of room past the green but

:37:49.:37:54.

it wasn't a problem for Judd, it was just pressure. Barry Hawkins back

:37:55.:38:03.

now and can't believe his luck. That has got the ball rolling again with

:38:04.:38:09.

that first red. The busy session of these remaining reds, there's only

:38:10.:38:14.

one of them an ideal position but he will do well to close out the match

:38:15.:38:20.

from here. He's going to have to play a lot of positional shots.

:38:21.:38:29.

That was the mess that allowed Judd Trump back in. -- miss. Surely, he

:38:30.:38:42.

didn't think he was going to get back to the table, having presented

:38:43.:38:49.

Trump with the opportunity. Syncing that red to top right. Shows you how

:38:50.:38:56.

much these two PLAYERS care about the sport, despite the fact that

:38:57.:38:59.

they have won many events and matches over the last decade, this

:39:00.:39:10.

is still so tight. This is where the work begins for Barry Hawkins. All

:39:11.:39:14.

three remaining reds are slightly tricky.

:39:15.:39:24.

And he's going to need them all. The first problem dealt with. Just going

:39:25.:39:33.

to try and stun the cue ball up between those two reds to give

:39:34.:39:34.

himself a choice of them. OK. Not bad. To the yellow pocket,

:39:35.:39:53.

the red, would be his next intention but being left-handed, it is going

:39:54.:39:56.

to be really awkward with the rest. I don't think he is straight enough

:39:57.:40:02.

on it to screw across the baulk line for the baulk covers. Probably

:40:03.:40:11.

brown, I would suggest. This, under pressure, is missable. And he gets a

:40:12.:40:19.

huge kick, as well! As soon as he was up off that shot,

:40:20.:40:35.

Barry Hawkins was asking the referee to clean the cue ball.

:40:36.:40:49.

Not a straightforward positional shot to get on this remaining red.

:40:50.:41:01.

He got some action on that cue ball. Does this red past the brown? I

:41:02.:41:07.

don't think it does. There you go. I think it is end of break. And Judd

:41:08.:41:09.

will have another opportunity. 25 behind. That one red still on. 35

:41:10.:41:33.

available. This is going right down to the wire. What a brilliant

:41:34.:41:41.

contest. We are not far off two and a half hours in this match. Judd

:41:42.:41:49.

Trump, leading 3-1, Barry, storming back to 4-3. Trump forcing the

:41:50.:41:55.

decider. We have had a little bit of everything. I'm sure that Barry is

:41:56.:42:03.

not thinking of trying to cut this red back across to the right centre

:42:04.:42:07.

pocket. It is an easy snooker to leave. I think he's going to try to

:42:08.:42:12.

put the cue ball in behind the yellow, here. No. He's frightened

:42:13.:42:20.

that if he doesn't get the snooker behind the yellow you might be

:42:21.:42:27.

leaving the pot on for the red. You can really make a hash of this if

:42:28.:42:29.

you are not really decisive. He spent a minute and a half

:42:30.:42:44.

thinking about that shot. He's still not certain. Whether it was the

:42:45.:42:52.

right choice. But he has made it awkward for Judd. Miss will be happy

:42:53.:43:04.

with that but there could be a cross double shot the nothing on here for

:43:05.:43:12.

Barry, trying to double this into the left-hand corner. Not quite. Has

:43:13.:43:20.

he got a snooker? Hassey got in behind the brown? -- has he. He has.

:43:21.:43:33.

Can Judd swerve past the brown and Mr Cannon on the blue, to hit the

:43:34.:43:48.

red? -- miss the cannon. Is that in? Oh, my word! Water moment for Lady

:43:49.:43:57.

luck to give you a bit of assistance. Gusts from the crowd. He

:43:58.:44:09.

went white as a sheet when he saw that red going in, but does the blue

:44:10.:44:18.

pass the yellow? Fortunately for Barry, the blue will not pass the

:44:19.:44:21.

yellow soon unless Judd wants to take on a risky green he will have

:44:22.:44:25.

two roll up to the blue and get the snooker, and play another type of

:44:26.:44:30.

snooker. He is left-handed so rolling up to the blue should be

:44:31.:44:40.

easy. 24 points behind, as you see, there, but still, 27 remain, and

:44:41.:44:50.

given the position of these colours even though there is a great deal of

:44:51.:44:57.

pressure on both these players now. This is what makes snooker so great

:44:58.:45:03.

to watch. My palms are getting sweaty just sitting in the

:45:04.:45:07.

commentary box! Such a big investment of effort here from both

:45:08.:45:12.

players. APPLAUSE

:45:13.:45:26.

A dream result for Barry. That is all you want when you are escaping

:45:27.:45:32.

from a snooker. He has got to hit this yellow absolutely perfectly

:45:33.:45:38.

here. He got the double-kiss, and I think he has left the yellow aunt.

:45:39.:45:45.

But it's not as easy as it looks. I fancy Barry to get it. It's a lot

:45:46.:45:49.

harder than it looks on your screens.

:45:50.:46:01.

How did it stay out? How did the yellow stay out?! No one in the

:46:02.:46:15.

arena can believe it! Water stay of execution there, for Judd Trump. I

:46:16.:46:20.

will tell you how he missed that yellow, he played a stunned the shot

:46:21.:46:27.

and some of the spin forced the yellow slightly thin and the pace

:46:28.:46:39.

kept it out. Wow! They have really taken this all the way to the wire.

:46:40.:46:48.

Judd Trump needs everything here. What a way for this match to edge

:46:49.:47:06.

towards the climax. Two of the very best in the world. And it has come

:47:07.:47:12.

down to the black. This, for a place in the semifinals for Judd Trump.

:47:13.:47:21.

And it's there. So much drama, so many opportunities for both men. A

:47:22.:47:27.

really great contest. One or two, standing to applaud. The winning run

:47:28.:47:31.

comes to learning for Barry Hawkins and, by the skin of his steed, Judd

:47:32.:47:38.

Trump is into the open semifinals. -- skin of his teeth. Before the

:47:39.:47:44.

interval I was OK, after it I did not feel that good and he started to

:47:45.:47:48.

play quite well. And then I missed my chances in the last round to go

:47:49.:47:52.

with the rest and I was thinking that it, then he has missed, then I

:47:53.:47:57.

missed an easy ball when I got in again and I was thinking it was all

:47:58.:48:01.

over then some crazy things happened and he has ended up leaving me

:48:02.:48:06.

perfect on the yellow. Just a lot of luck involved, really. The past few

:48:07.:48:11.

tournaments I have played well and not padded and this one I have not

:48:12.:48:14.

played as well and got a bit of luck, so that has been nice. His

:48:15.:48:19.

semifinal opponent is a man that you would have tipped, world number 77

:48:20.:48:26.

Scott Donaldson, who thrashed Chinese youngster Zhou Yuelong 5-0.

:48:27.:48:33.

My safety was good all day. I didn't give him many chances. I don't know,

:48:34.:48:38.

I just won the game, I'm happy to win. Confirmation, then, of the

:48:39.:48:46.

semifinal line-up for 2017. World number for Judd Trump against Scott

:48:47.:48:50.

Donaldson in his first ever ranking event semifinal and world number two

:48:51.:48:53.

Stuart Bingham against Robert Milkins who has made the Welsh Open

:48:54.:48:59.

semifinals for the first time. They are getting ready for semifinals day

:49:00.:49:03.

here at the motor point Arena. All eyes are on the one table now. We

:49:04.:49:09.

started the week with a body outside tables have gone and the atmosphere

:49:10.:49:12.

will be pretty special when play resumes in just over 12 hours' time.

:49:13.:49:18.

Why not spend your Saturday with us? We are underway from 1p in tomorrow

:49:19.:49:23.

when he will bring you the game between Trump and Donaldson. Who can

:49:24.:49:28.

book their spot in Sunday's will open final? Thanks for watching.

:49:29.:49:30.

From all of us, very good night. I've searched the world to find

:49:31.:49:38.

these extraordinary people. I woke up and I could suddenly

:49:39.:50:22.

just play the piano. The human body is unique

:50:23.:50:30.

within nature. And the most extraordinary people

:50:31.:50:36.

on the planet

:50:37.:50:40.
