It's a very big night for those four players. Welcome to the Crucible

:01:07.:01:12.

Theatre in Sheffield. The quarterfinals are drawing to a

:01:13.:01:16.

conclusion, we are edging towards the semifinals. Two men are already

:01:17.:01:21.

through - Mark Selby and Ding Junhui. Bring won in two sessions.

:01:22.:01:32.

He last reached the last four in 2011. -- Ding. This time I think it

:01:33.:01:45.

is different, I have more confidence and I play well. I could be off. As

:01:46.:01:56.

for the World War I, he beat Kyren Wilson to reach the semifinals.

:01:57.:02:02.

Selby was the 2014 Crucible champion. -- for the world number

:02:03.:02:11.

one. It was a tough game against Kyren. He is a great up and coming

:02:12.:02:16.

player who has had a great season. He has broken into the top 16. It

:02:17.:02:22.

was a relief to get over the line. It is a quiet night in for two mac

:02:23.:02:30.

-- Ding. Let's remind you how these quarterfinal matches are looking

:02:31.:02:36.

after the second session. Having suffered a major hangover against

:02:37.:02:48.

Marco Fu, he registered a second frame, going on to reduce the

:02:49.:02:51.

deficit to 9-4. Having compose himself, a total clearance of 136 by

:02:52.:02:58.

Fu took the 18-year-old to within three frames of victory. Hoping to

:02:59.:03:11.

make another appearance, Hawkins is eventually lost 10-6. Mark McManus

:03:12.:03:17.

is a firm favourite to go through to his eighth semifinal. With luck

:03:18.:03:21.

running against him, it was his fellow Scot who claimed the first

:03:22.:03:28.

three frames and the lead. The 4- time world champion rallied to earn

:03:29.:03:34.

a 9-7 advantage ahead of their final session. I am with John Parrott and

:03:35.:03:41.

Willie Thorne, who will be commentating.

:03:42.:03:44.

The match between John Higgins and Alan McManus, you would expect John

:03:45.:03:47.

Higgins to have his nose in front because he is the favourite, but you

:03:48.:03:51.

are full of admiration for Alan McManus. To be competing as well as

:03:52.:03:59.

he has, they have played loads of sections together and they know each

:04:00.:04:03.

other's game inside out. You would expect from Alan McManus's

:04:04.:04:07.

perspective, that he gets off to a good start. He is 9-7 behind. It is

:04:08.:04:13.

the nitty-gritty now. The first couple of frames are important.

:04:14.:04:18.

Barry Hawkins against Marco Fu, it has been topsy-turvy. He was

:04:19.:04:23.

probably packing eggs bags, ready to go home. As we know with Barry, he

:04:24.:04:30.

never gives up, and he made it 10-6. If he makes it through the first

:04:31.:04:33.

couple of friends, we could have a match. It seemed towards Marco Fu

:04:34.:04:42.

struggling at one point. Lots of people have said that is a massive

:04:43.:04:46.

match will stop he was trying to get back in and was embarrassed by how

:04:47.:04:50.

he was playing. All credit, he has played well in the last few frames

:04:51.:04:53.

and has a chance. Pressure on Marco Fu? Yes, especially if he loses the

:04:54.:04:59.

last frame. Over to the commentary team. Thanks

:05:00.:05:03.

very much to Steve Davis, who has just about recovered from the

:05:04.:05:06.

:08:21.:08:28.

The crowd getting a little excited, and I don't blame them. The standard

:08:29.:08:33.

of snooker this afternoon was right out of the top drawer. Barry Hawkins

:08:34.:08:43.

has dug so deep, with breaks of 95 and 75 in the last two frames. As I

:08:44.:08:52.

mentioned earlier, if he can get off to a good start and maybe win this

:08:53.:08:59.

session 3-1, there could be some tension here at the Crucible once

:09:00.:09:00.

again. With me in the commentary box, a

:09:01.:09:19.

gentleman who works very closely with Barry Hawkins - Terry

:09:20.:09:26.

Griffiths. It will be very tense. Just great. Yes, it's a very

:09:27.:09:34.

exciting evening here at the Crucible. Two matches to finish.

:09:35.:09:44.

Marco Fu and Barry Hawkins, I think they have both been through the

:09:45.:09:50.

ringer already. In this match. This is a big session. Marco Fu got I

:09:51.:10:02.

think to the semifinal last time in 2006. I was working with him then.

:10:03.:10:09.

I'm sure he lost to Peter Ebdon in a close one. Both players have been to

:10:10.:10:17.

that stage, so they won't be frightened of winning the quarters,

:10:18.:10:21.

obviously. They are both looking forward, I'm sure, to the

:10:22.:10:26.

possibility of getting to the 1- table stage. It's special to all

:10:27.:10:29.

players, whether they have been there or not.

:10:30.:11:20.

He thought that was worth a try. Tough ones to start, which if they

:11:21.:11:27.

had gone in, it was a chance to get up and running quickly.

:11:28.:11:54.

Well, well! He would like that one back again. He was trying to get

:11:55.:12:09.

behind the black, surely. There have been a couple of long pots played,

:12:10.:12:19.

but this the first real chance. I expected him to get that one.

:12:20.:12:25.

That was never there. Both players, I should think, feeling the tension.

:12:26.:12:38.

Some tremendous snooker in this match. Marco Fu played a very good

:12:39.:12:50.

session, first session will stop and the fightback from Barry Hawkins,

:12:51.:12:53.

everybody likes that, don't they? If they are unbiased, anyway. Always

:12:54.:13:00.

nice to see. So difficult when you are a long way behind. 9-1 is

:13:01.:13:05.

definitely a long way. Both of these last quarterfinals

:13:06.:13:24.

come to a conclusion, and I hope that they are hoping that both

:13:25.:13:34.

Machin 's -- both matches go to 13-2 to take a little bit out of their

:13:35.:13:35.

future opponent. His highest break six frames at one

:13:36.:13:58.

point, Terry, was 13. Amazing, the difference at day makes. It was a

:13:59.:14:10.

solid 13, though. -- the difference a day makes us. I think it is

:14:11.:14:19.

touching both balls. Do they won't to rack them up again? They do.

:14:20.:14:26.

There we are, the first frame will start again.

:14:27.:14:31.

Let's talk a little bit about the last session. When it was 9-1, I

:14:32.:14:40.

thought it was all over, but both players having a little chuckle

:14:41.:14:45.

there. Barry with thing, I will win a few frames, so it would be

:14:46.:14:48.

embarrassing. The closer he got, the more that Marco Fu started to miss.

:14:49.:14:59.

I think Barry had got in before that and he had the kick in the pack of

:15:00.:15:10.

reds, then Marco handed a chance. -- was handed a chance.

:15:11.:15:21.

The first frame of the evening session, take two. A good length of

:15:22.:15:27.

cue ball. This could be a real chance. Until

:15:28.:15:48.

the white ended up there. Normally, the players would play the

:15:49.:16:19.

brown into the pack, but the one about the black, that is the one he

:16:20.:16:26.

will try to get onto. He shouldn't be anywhere near the blue. Two

:16:27.:16:31.

cushions. He may play the screw to the left-hand corner. He played one

:16:32.:16:36.

cushion, but he is still on this rent. -- red.

:16:37.:16:58.

He played that well. He would be a bit disappointed when he came down

:16:59.:17:04.

and saw he wasn't straight on that red.

:17:05.:17:16.

Nothing, sweet nothing, I think, there. Lovely split. He's having a

:17:17.:17:28.

little look now at this 3- ball plant. It is hitting the left-hand

:17:29.:17:32.

jaw. He is looking at the 2-ball plan to the right of the pink. --

:17:33.:17:42.

plant. Hit the pack, hit them hard and well.

:17:43.:18:02.

He is having another look at this plant. It's dangerous, such an easy

:18:03.:18:08.

safety shot. If he feels it goes in, he could win

:18:09.:18:23.

the frame. Play gently to give the pocket a chance on the pink. Both of

:18:24.:18:36.

these players are finding there is only one way to play when you're

:18:37.:18:39.

under pressure. You cannot be waiting for the other man to make a

:18:40.:18:43.

mistake, you have to go out there and do-it-yourself.

:18:44.:18:55.

He won't be pleased with that. He is still on this red. He has given

:18:56.:19:02.

himself plenty to do with the cue ball. It isn't anywhere near kissing

:19:03.:19:14.

the red. He did remarkably well to get back out for the black again.

:19:15.:19:42.

Barry Hawkins is very strong around the pink spot when he is in this

:19:43.:19:56.

sort of position. Stephen Hendry mentioned that he thought when he

:19:57.:20:00.

was playing he was more comfortable with the middle pockets.

:20:01.:20:09.

A choice of three reds he can play here. One that fails the definite

:20:10.:20:32.

position. He could screw back couple of inches on the pink. -- a couple.

:20:33.:20:43.

He could screw across the face of the black, the black in the same

:20:44.:20:48.

pocket. I don't think he had spotted this one at first, but it is

:20:49.:20:50.

certainly the easiest shot. He didn't get a great contact, but

:20:51.:21:19.

he was striking down on that. He got a red in the middle.

:21:20.:21:42.

After going into the pack, and into the pink, looking as if he wasn't on

:21:43.:21:50.

anything, he made a plant. It's a great chance now. I admire him,

:21:51.:22:01.

Terry, don't you? From 9-1 behind and find the strength, dig deep and

:22:02.:22:03.

claw his way back into this game. He has to be careful of playing the

:22:04.:22:15.

cannon into the two reds. This must be the fourth time in this

:22:16.:22:37.

little break of 50 that he has been cueing over the top of a ball.

:22:38.:22:43.

Eventually, it catches you out. As he flipped it?

:22:44.:22:51.

CROWD GROANS -- fluked eight. He turned round and

:22:52.:23:07.

looked at what he had left on. He knows that if Marco makes this red,

:23:08.:23:11.

there is a good chance he could go on and win this brain. Well played.

:23:12.:23:23.

It all adds to the tension. -- win this frame.

:23:24.:24:24.

Both players obviously have a lot of tension in their arms. He tried to

:24:25.:24:30.

come onto the pink there and missed it.

:24:31.:24:57.

Even though Barry is one in front in this frame, 27 point, he knows that

:24:58.:25:07.

the next format reds and colours are important. -- the next four reds.

:25:08.:26:04.

He will be delighted with that positional shot. He will probably

:26:05.:26:16.

take the one in the middle first. It is the best option, compared to the

:26:17.:26:17.

other two. Three reds and three blacks. Yellow

:26:18.:26:27.

to green is a massive problem. Apart from one shot, where he played

:26:28.:26:50.

a pink on the right pocket, after that red he has been absolutely

:26:51.:26:57.

perfect with his positional play. That takes a large chunk of the

:26:58.:27:04.

pressure alt by doing that. It will be a big blow for Barry if

:27:05.:27:07.

he loses this frame. Why do you think Mark was having a

:27:08.:27:26.

knock-about? He looks so calm and relaxed. He needs to be quite

:27:27.:27:37.

straight on this blue. He may have to move the yellow, with the angle

:27:38.:27:45.

he has left on the blue. He tries to drop on it. It needs to finish

:27:46.:27:47.

almost on the cushion. CROWD GROANS

:27:48.:28:16.

It was not easy, by any stretch of the imagination. The pace he had to

:28:17.:28:23.

head the yellow to get onto the green, and he was sitting slightly

:28:24.:28:32.

down because of his bridge and. Barry Hawkins, not a certainty to

:28:33.:28:39.

pop this and get on the green. -- pot. That is as good as it gets,

:28:40.:28:49.

really. He could have rolled the yellow, but that would not have put

:28:50.:28:54.

him on the green. Two cushions now. It looks like he is playing one.

:28:55.:29:03.

Well done. What a topsy-turvy frame this has been.

:29:04.:29:15.

It looks like the comeback is on again, albeit on the wrong side of

:29:16.:29:25.

the blue to get onto the pink. He needs the pink.

:29:26.:29:32.

He needs the fight to slow up. -- the white.

:29:33.:29:50.

Illers will be marked. Pink. Pink. APPLAUSE CROWD GROANS

:29:51.:30:02.

Take a look at this shot. He is left with a really easy one, but the

:30:03.:30:39.

first thing to see is the bridge length from where the bridges to the

:30:40.:30:44.

cue ball. It's not massively long, so he has to play a power shot.

:30:45.:30:49.

Barry, on this type of shot, very good and accurate. When he plays a

:30:50.:30:54.

shot, he generates a lot of power with the cue. That screw back,

:30:55.:30:58.

although not necessarily into the bottom half of the gave him a better

:30:59.:31:03.

chance to pop the green. A fantastic performance. If the pink doesn't go

:31:04.:31:05.

in the pocket, nightmare. What do you think is happening to

:31:06.:31:17.

Marco Fu's state of mind? It started to unravel. He missed the blue at

:31:18.:31:22.

the end of that session. He must've been panicking when that happened.

:31:23.:31:27.

Now he has come out. He looks like he has a decent chance. Another

:31:28.:31:31.

frame goes begging, and then all of a sudden, you can see the person

:31:32.:31:36.

catching up. When you are in these long matches, it is like the

:31:37.:31:38.

loneliness of the long-distance runner. You are right there mac,

:31:39.:31:43.

effectively playing against yourself, the other guy not doing

:31:44.:31:47.

much, and then suddenly he starts to reel you in. The panic can set in.

:31:48.:31:57.

The fact that the other player hasn't been to the Crucible, does

:31:58.:32:04.

that play on the mind? It can do but Barry Hawkins has been outplayed and

:32:05.:32:08.

embarrassed for a long period of time. Now he's over that. His comp

:32:09.:32:13.

it pif instincts have start. Now you'll see the back end of this, a

:32:14.:32:18.

player as strong as O'Sullivan. Has Fu got enough in the bag and enough

:32:19.:32:22.

frames to get over the line? Two interesting points when it comes to

:32:23.:32:24.

Barry Hawkins's confidence, not only will he take a lot from winning that

:32:25.:32:29.

first frame of this, the third and final session, but also there are so

:32:30.:32:32.

many Barry Hawkins fans in the Crucible this evening. I think

:32:33.:32:35.

relief was the word for Barry Hawkins after winning that frame.

:32:36.:32:43.

Mind you, I'd rather be 10-7 in front.

:32:44.:32:59.

What a great shot, tremendous shot, perfect. He needed that. He knew

:33:00.:33:04.

there was a good chance he may leave a red on if he missed this. Got the

:33:05.:33:11.

little flick on the red, so he's on the black. Had to slightly push

:33:12.:33:20.

through the red that's above it to remove the red in the corner. That's

:33:21.:33:25.

what he's done. These are nice. You can see 40 points at least coming

:33:26.:33:27.

from this position. Eight. He couldn't possibly win this match,

:33:28.:33:45.

could he, from 9-1 behind? Nine. He couldn't possibly win it when he's

:33:46.:33:50.

9-1 behind! You never know what's going to happen here. I mean, I

:33:51.:33:57.

remember Nigel Barn beating Cliff Farburn in one of the hardest

:33:58.:34:00.

matches ever, 9-2 in front. Amazing. I guess this would be up there with

:34:01.:34:12.

one of the most amazing Crucible comebacks.

:34:13.:34:22.

Fancying the job now, Terry - his facial expressions have changed, his

:34:23.:34:28.

demeanour around the table has changed, a little bit of bounce in

:34:29.:34:33.

his step. We all know what happens with our emotions when we're out

:34:34.:34:37.

there, and Barry, obviously, when he was 9-1 down was desperate. Really,

:34:38.:34:43.

as you said, he pressed a little bit. All of a sudden, change it

:34:44.:34:50.

around. Now he looks a lot more confident.

:34:51.:34:59.

Doubts and fears tend to go away, and then, of course, adrenaline

:35:00.:35:14.

kicks in. These players, both of them can do anything when they're

:35:15.:35:18.

playing well. They're really, really top players. They have been around

:35:19.:35:23.

awhile. They have been in these type of situation many times. I think

:35:24.:35:27.

we're in for a great night. Go into the black - it just has.

:35:28.:35:49.

APPLAUSE. 41. This is looking like a

:35:50.:36:35.

frame-winning chance now for Barry Hawkins. This will be four on the

:36:36.:36:42.

trot, should he win it. After this frame, the pressure will be on Marco

:36:43.:36:48.

because he knows he needs to leave at least one before the interval to

:36:49.:36:51.

keep his head in front. 47. At one stage in this match,

:36:52.:37:18.

obviously, there was - Barry Hawkins had nothing to lose at all. Of

:37:19.:37:25.

course, the man in front does have a lot to worry about and it doesn't

:37:26.:37:35.

always turn out like that. As the player behind gets closer to you,

:37:36.:37:39.

you start thinking I've got to win the next one, and that's the worst

:37:40.:37:45.

thing. Marco has enough experience, for sure, a wonderful temperament.

:37:46.:37:48.

Both these players score very well when they get in, so they could have

:37:49.:37:53.

a run of two or three frames at any time, if not more.

:37:54.:37:59.

He's going to need to get those five reds open before he can win the

:38:00.:38:09.

frame at this visit. A little bit of a bounce off the cushion there. 61.

:38:10.:38:17.

Too risky now to play off the edge of the pack to get on to the black,

:38:18.:38:23.

so he needs a good angle on this next colour. He needs to get an

:38:24.:38:28.

angle on this black to go into the bunch. 62.

:38:29.:38:38.

Usually you don't suggest it, the red above a black but this time

:38:39.:38:47.

he'll be pushing the red towards the pockets if it catches the four ball.

:38:48.:38:51.

Barry is just coming around - do I need to - or should I play for the

:38:52.:38:56.

loose ball? That's fine if you got on with it. 70 - should have gone to

:38:57.:39:05.

that red, only 67 on. He's played the loose red, and this is a

:39:06.:39:10.

beautiful positional shot, excellent, well played. 69.

:39:11.:39:17.

You think you remain in this break if you lost the first frame tonight?

:39:18.:39:23.

I don't think so. It's huge in sport.

:39:24.:39:51.

Sighs from the audience. They'd like to see a break, but nothing on here.

:39:52.:40:02.

Barry Hawkins goes 75 in front. 75. A little bit closer to Marco Fu at

:40:03.:40:08.

10-8. Obviously, Marco going to carry on

:40:09.:40:21.

with his 67 points on the table, needs two four-point penalty

:40:22.:40:29.

snookers to tie, but if Barry knocks this in, Marco will stay in his

:40:30.:40:35.

chair. APPLAUSE.

:40:36.:40:56.

7 and a frame. In front, Barry Hawkins off the early 75. He's now

:40:57.:41:34.

just two behind at 10-8. We could have two macing stories here this

:41:35.:41:37.

evening because let's drop into the other table and show you what's

:41:38.:41:42.

happening in the all Scotland match between John Higgins and Alan

:41:43.:41:46.

McManus. He's wons the first frame of the evening session, as you'll

:41:47.:41:51.

see very shortly, to make it 9-8. This is an incredible story because

:41:52.:41:56.

Alan McManus reached the quarter-finals in 2014 losing 13-5

:41:57.:42:03.

to Mark Selby and hasn't reached a semifinal since 1993 when he lost to

:42:04.:42:07.

Stephen Hendry by 16 frames to eight, so we could be looking at two

:42:08.:42:11.

amazing stories. If Alan McManus beats John Higgins and if Barry

:42:12.:42:16.

Hawkins completes this remarkable comeback which he's on track to do.

:42:17.:42:20.

Yes he's got off a flying start which is what he wanted. It was a

:42:21.:42:23.

nice touch - just before the end before he cut back we saw Marco Fu

:42:24.:42:26.

probably turning to his daughter, who is up there watching and just a

:42:27.:42:30.

little wave which I thought was really nice. He's under severe

:42:31.:42:36.

pressure but he has enough about him to say, it's OK. Everything is all

:42:37.:42:40.

right. His temperament will be tested now. Going alternate and

:42:41.:42:47.

things like that, and this is how the score would have ended up at

:42:48.:42:51.

10-8, there would be no pressure on Marco. You would think with him two

:42:52.:42:56.

frames in front, but there isn't. With a massive lead, his opponent

:42:57.:43:00.

drawn back, the pressure is definitely on Marco Fu.

:43:01.:43:48.

He had a little look at the red - the black there, but that was a

:43:49.:43:56.

tough shot. His adrenaline will be pumping now to take something like

:43:57.:44:01.

that on - possibly regret it, miss the red.

:44:02.:44:09.

Takes a lot of courage for a person to a turn pot down when he feels he

:44:10.:44:16.

can make it, but patience is a virtue out there.

:44:17.:44:31.

Seems like Marco is reluctant to play the one that's sticking out

:44:32.:44:37.

just below the Flinning and playing back into ball because he'll be

:44:38.:44:41.

splitting the pack up and at the minute he wants to have a nice

:44:42.:44:45.

scrappy frame, I would think, just to start feeling a little bit

:44:46.:44:48.

better, and he can play very, very thin off the red to the extreme

:44:49.:44:52.

outside of the pack, and that will cut into the corner, but that's too

:44:53.:44:54.

risky. Beat all the top players in the

:44:55.:45:07.

world, Marco, but perhaps in some ways this is the most pressure he's

:45:08.:45:18.

likely to have ever been under. A strange shot, that was, but he'll be

:45:19.:45:21.

happy with it, finished safe. I've got to see the light. Hang on.

:45:22.:45:32.

It's touch and go. A little run inside on this, trying

:45:33.:45:58.

to get behind the yellow spot. Pretty good. He's covered the one on

:45:59.:46:14.

the left-hand side, but Marco Fu can get through to the one in the right

:46:15.:46:20.

corner, didn't quite get it tight on the cushion, Barry there.

:46:21.:46:28.

APPLAUSE. Might seem so simple in one way, but one shot can change a

:46:29.:46:40.

game, change the way the players are thinking at that moment.

:46:41.:46:59.

Overdone that. I don't think he played for it past the black into

:47:00.:47:07.

the right corner pocket. He can still take it on, but

:47:08.:47:27.

He will still take that pot on. He has to play for blue or baulk

:47:28.:48:37.

Colour. That will do very nicely. The green

:48:38.:48:52.

is a big target to go into the side of the pack near the pink. Mind you,

:48:53.:49:06.

ain't that terrible? He scratches his head.

:49:07.:50:00.

That was a good attempt. It's just stops him losing a bit of

:50:01.:50:33.

confidence. It was a good strike, got very close to the pot.

:50:34.:51:11.

I don't think he can take on this red. It looks as if he will cannon

:51:12.:51:29.

into some of the reds there. He is staring it down.

:51:30.:51:40.

If he catches this slightly thick, he's in trouble. That's a very good

:51:41.:51:53.

shot. I wonder what angle he has on the green. Two reds look available

:51:54.:52:00.

to the left of the pack. Sometimes you can make your own luck. If he

:52:01.:52:05.

has the angle to get onto those two reds, he has made his own lock. --

:52:06.:52:21.

luck. If the players play off the top cushion and down, it's been

:52:22.:52:31.

coming out pretty quick and running fast and going to far. Yes, on the

:52:32.:52:38.

bed, that is what's happening. He is giving it a little adjustment. Too

:52:39.:52:47.

much there. Again, a good recovery. Barry Hawkins, very good at doing

:52:48.:52:53.

that. I'm not saying he loses position that much, but when he

:52:54.:53:03.

does... Loads of top spin. He needs that to slow down now.

:53:04.:53:13.

Potting this red - that'll open the gap for another red to the opposite

:53:14.:53:29.

corner. 11. He wasn't too worried about where he finished on the

:53:30.:53:35.

black. There's the red he's looking at - pots - has a nice angle.

:53:36.:53:40.

Doesn't have to play it this time. This last blue he played, Terry, was

:53:41.:53:47.

hit beautifully, loads of top spin. Not many players from the world can

:53:48.:53:52.

generate that much top spin. It's key now to get an angle on the next

:53:53.:54:01.

killer, to get into the bunch. Needs to be low.

:54:02.:54:05.

APPLAUSE. Nice and straight. 19.

:54:06.:54:21.

Same pot as the black. Yeah, sorry. I was just asking whether the

:54:22.:54:33.

outside red pot was - I didn't know it was a live mic. He's telling me

:54:34.:54:43.

the outside red does pot. This is just a remarkable performance from

:54:44.:54:55.

Barry. Marco Fu will be getting more and more worried. Not done too much

:54:56.:55:00.

around Marco. He's had a couple of half chances, but the pressure on

:55:01.:55:02.

him now will be immense. That's gone badly wrong for Barry

:55:03.:55:35.

Hawkins. He can't, I don't think, drop this in deadweight and stay for

:55:36.:55:39.

the red at the top of that bunch, but there may be one in the middle

:55:40.:55:46.

he can play for. He's just got too much spin on it. I wonder if it will

:55:47.:55:52.

be - three or four inches off the cue, even that will be OK, but...

:55:53.:56:07.

-- very strict here, these chats when you can't get the tip on the

:56:08.:56:18.

ball, deviate off the natural line. What a shot that was. Nervous. Need

:56:19.:56:25.

a lot of bottle to play that at that pace.

:56:26.:56:36.

Now he has got topside of the blue, doesn't have to play hard into the

:56:37.:56:44.

red and pink. He knows it's worth the risk. He could screw the yellow

:56:45.:56:49.

in or even play the brown off two cushions, but to bring those two

:56:50.:56:54.

reds into play - this in front of the pink - he has chance to win the

:56:55.:57:02.

frame at this visit. He played it nicely, played it very nicely.

:57:03.:57:05.

APPLAUSE. 37. Doesn't seem that long ago when

:57:06.:57:25.

Barry Hawkins was playing as if he only had one hand tied behind his

:57:26.:57:31.

back. All of a sudden, he's looking at his very best. And he can win the

:57:32.:57:39.

frame, Terry, with these two reds and two killers without worrying

:57:40.:57:44.

about those three reds, has a great chance to be 10-9. Marco Fu sitting

:57:45.:57:50.

there used to say to me when I asked him, what do you have to do to win

:57:51.:57:53.

the World Championship? What do you have to have? "It's guts, mate." And

:57:54.:57:59.

that's what Marco has now. He has got plenty.

:58:00.:58:07.

What you need to do now is hit that red button for further live coverage

:58:08.:58:14.

from the Crucible. Remember, Barry Hawkins was 9-1 down, the greatest

:58:15.:58:19.

deficit from which a player has won a match, eight frames. Steve Davis,

:58:20.:58:23.

you remember this, was 9-1 up to Dennis Taylor and lost 18-17. So a

:58:24.:58:30.

red button for Hawkins against Fu. Higgins, McManus is available on BBC

:58:31.:58:34.

Sport and online. We're back to round up all the day's play from the

:58:35.:58:38.

Crucible later this evening. Bye for now.
