Good afternoon and welcome to 2016, and of course the results show.

Happy New Year. Time to meet and greet former Hibs, Rangers and

Motherwell defender, Craig Paterson and Richard Wilson. It is Derby Day.

Let's find out what is happening from our reporters around the

country. First up is a derby of the Glasgow variety, Celtic against

Partick Thistle. Happy New Year to everyone. It has not been a typical

derby, but Neil Bainton has just been sent off. They are struggling

tough. Celtic fans will not be happy? They have become an

inconsistent team. It wasn't that long that Dalmarnock was holding

them goalless. They are not firing on all cylinders but they are still

the top scorers in the league. They have the best defensive record in

the league. It is hard to know what to make of Celtic at the moment. It

is not right, but they are picking up points and dominating the league.

It is hard to judge if you are a Celtic fan. But you get the sense

all is not right in the team. 3-2 to Motherwell. Motherwell deserved to

be on top? They started well. At these came back. I was at both games

last year and it is a game that produces goals. Motherwell are on a

really good one. Hamilton are struggling. They would love to get a

point but if Mark McGhee can chalk up another victory it will put

Motherwell in a good place to challenge for the top six. Hearts

are a strong team, strong character and they are physically strong.

Kilmarnock have not been able to hold onto the lead. They have been

inconsistent as well. Enough of the manager to say he is concerned about

where they are. They have to be picking up points and separate

yourself from Dundee United at the bottom. It will be a bloke the

Kilmarnock to go ahead in this game and then not take any points from

it. Looking good the Cali Thistle, 2-0 up and Inverness have found some

form? Warren is back, Draper is back. Maehl story was scoring goals,

but other players are scoring. The problem was they couldn't score

goals and couldn't win, now they have guys on form and they are

building up the points. I had said to Craig before, talking about the

Dumbarton, Rangers game, nobody gives Dumbarton a real thrashing,

apart from Falkirk. Rangers, 4-0 up a way to Dumbarton? They seem to be

picking up from where they left when they played Hibs. They are capable

of heavily defeating teams. Just not consistently. Kenny Miller is

much away, Falkirk will not give much away, they have got to win

games like this. There has been a tendency to focus on Rangers and

Hibs and forget about Falkirk. Peter Houston might have been happy about

that. The one thing that holds them back is the depth of the squad. But

if they can put teams at the top under pressure, they can take points

off them, so they cannot be written out. The Dundee derby is done and

points clear at the top. They are level with Celtic. This was against

Partick Thistle in midweek. They failed to score, had plenty of

Let's tell you how Celtic are faring at home to Partick Thistle. Still

0-0. Celtic fans are beginning to get up and go, they have seen

enough. Their team are heading for a fifth game in a row without a

victory here at Celtic Park. They haven't deserved much more than they

going to get here, which is a point, after Nir Bitton was sent off. James

Forrest and Leigh Griffiths, both on substitutes, have had a couple of

efforts each saved by Cerny. At the other end, a header saved off the

them to within three minutes of half-time to get themselves ahead

after Dumbarton's resistant and Rangers's inability to get that

breakthrough. Kenny Miller opened the scoring for them just before the

break and quickly added a second and then completed a hat-trick within

four deck and half minutes. He needed those goals, Kenny Miller. A

hat-trick for him today. Followed by Martyn Waghorn scoring his 22nd of

the season, a deflected free kick from Andy Halliday made it five and

a ripper of a 25 yarder from James Tavernier, clearly peeved that Kenny

Miller had gone level with him on goals, decided to edge himself ahead

with the full-back's number 11. Heading back to Celtic now, full

time there. Yes indeed, 1-0. The champions and league leaders move

three points clear of Aberdeen at the top thanks to that Leigh

Griffiths goal, delayed, late goal from Leigh Griffiths. He came off

the bench at half-time. Celtic looked desperately in need of a

spark. They were lacklustre until the sending-off of Nir Bitton. That

seemed to give them something of an edge, they had a late flurry of

chances. A couple from James Forrest and a couple from Leigh Griffiths.

team -- his worth to the team and what they have been missing since he

has been out. It is tough on Partick Thistle, who looked destined for a

seven match unbeaten, but Celtic break the four-game run without a

win. They have done it, 1-0 they win today. A dramatic finish at the Park

-- Fir Park. We have an equaliser and it has come from the penalty

spot. Crawford sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. The shot

came in and Keith Leslie had his hand up, the shop certainly struck

his arm. The referee was surrounded by the Motherwell defenders claiming

it was accidental. However, the referee pointed to the spot and

we're now just going to kick off the game and surely that is it all over

here at Fir Park. It is now 3-3. Not quite finished there but it is in

the Highlands, Inverness against Ross County. Full-time, 2-0. The

first half strikes easing Inverness back into the top six. Their upturn

in form continues. The opener had a touch of fortune when James Vince

and's shop was firm but not overly troubling until the quick reaction

of the defender deflected the ball into the corner. Davis went close

with the corner but they were not the game that he just before

half-time. It sailed perfectly into the far corner. It was nearly three

when story had a firm drive which was tipped onto the bar. It mattered

not with Inverness showing the sort of form that delivered don't last.

Let's hear from Kenny Crawford now it's all over at Rugby Park.

Full-time and a vital point earned by a Kilmarnock side showing great

resolve to start off the year well. It started through Conrad Balatoni.

But Gavin Reilly immediately pegged them back, he was on hand to tap in

a rebound. It was 1-1 after the break but then Calum Paterson gave

Hearts the lead in fantastic style. The rebound went leaping out of the

head of the box and Calum Paterson chested it and set himself up and

volleyed it into the corner. He celebrated in front of the Hearts

travelling support. We wondered whether Killy would have the resolve

and strength to fight back but they did. Meg Ennis heading in from a

corner. Three times Hearts have come here in the league and failed to win

and they have done so again. At Fir Park, Motherwell and Hamilton shared

a 3-3 draw. McDonald gave the home side a deserved lead but Hamilton

came strong, first through their defender glancing a header beyond

Connor Randall lead to draw Hamilton level after 25 minutes. Then a quite

magnificent strike from Darian MacKinnon gave Hamilton the lead

just before the break. McDonald was on hand to knock the ball home after

he was set up by Lewis, who then put them in front. Eight Ross in from

the right hand side and Moult with the goal. Drama as five minutes of

time added on and substitute Ali Crawford with the shot and the ball

came off the hand or the arm of Keith Leslie and the referee was on

hand, he pointed to the spot. Keith Leslie saw red. Somehow it finished

3-3. Into the Championship now, let's find out what happened in the

match between Hibernian and Raith Rovers. It finished 1-0, meaning

Hibs go back to second place in the Championship, taking all three

points today. Hibs had little in the way of chances in the first half,

that was kept out by the crossbar. In the second-half Hibs came out of

was saved by Cuthbert, but cut managed to get onto the rebound.
