Show of the season - I know I can't believe it either.

In the next few minutes we'll find out which team's for the drop

Spoiler alert - it's either Hamilton or Inverness.

The Highlanders are for the high jump if they don't beat Motherwell.

If they do and Accies don't win at home to Dundee -

And here's the rub - whoever prevails on survival

Saturday faces the peril of a play-off.

That and more between now and about 10-past-5

in the esteemed company of Craig Paterson and Stuart

Hold on to your hats as we find out what's happening

Inverness versus Motherwell. No one holding on tho their hats. Inverness

will be relegated. They're winning 3-1. For Motherwell McFadden came

off the bench to score a header. But results elsewhere are consigning

Inverness to the drop. Ruined the whole show! Now the SuperSeal

Stadium and Hamilton against Dundee. Hamilton needed to win and few would

have predicted 4-0. Bingham and Skondras in the first half. Imrie

and Crawford late in the match. Hamilton look like they will be

taking on Dundee United in the Premiership play-off. And it is

about who will finish top of the bottom six at Rugby Park, where

Kilmarnock are playing Ross County. When the battle for relegation

leaves you cold, the battle for seventh place is hotting up. Ross

County look like winning. They had fallen behind after a penalty from

Sammon. But Boyce equalised before half-time and in the second half

Boyce latched on to a mistake to lob home his 24th goal of the season and

it does look like Ross County will finish top of the bottom six. Time

to find out whether Cowdenbeath rr East Kilbride will in the league.

What a thriller it was at Central Park. A dramatic afternoon at

Central Park ended with Cowdenbeath retaining their place in SPFL2 in a

penalty shoot out, consigning East Kilbride to another season in the

low land league. Mullen's goal was cancelled out by Gibbons. No more

goals and to penalties. Woods had his kick saved and Henderson fired

home the kick to retain Cowdenbeath's status. A dramatic

afternoon. Now back to Hamilton. Full-time at New Douglas Park.

Hamilton 4, Dundee 0. A huge three pointser for Martin Canning's side.

In fairness, it never looked in doubt. Dundee never looked

interested. We had two goals in two minutes in the fist half. Bingham

stabbed home the first from close range and Skondras blasted in the

second from distance. Imrie put it beyond doubt and Crawford iced the

cake. So next step, Tannadice on Thursday for the first leg of the

Premiership play-off between Hamilton and Dundee United. If

Martin Canning's men can play like this, United could be in trouble.

Not quite finished at Inverness. What is happening there. A dramatic

development perhaps? Even more dramatic, that was a goal for

Motherwell. But the full-time whistle has gone. It finished

Inverness 3, Motherwell 2. That doesn't matter, because Inverness

will play in the Championship with relegation confirm. The home side

had to win, cross their fingers and pray everything went their way. I

was taken out of their hands. They won this convincingly. But it seemed

convincing over all. Tansey fired in and a quick fire fisher double made

it a stirring second half. Motherwell played their part w James

McFadden nodding in after Frear hit the bar. But the news is Inverness,

their fate is sealed and they're in the Championship and it is decisions

that will matter more in the coming days and weeks. Thank you. Now back

to Rugby Park and I believe it is full-time. It has finished

Kilmarnock 1, Ross County 2. Ross County finish top of the bottom six.

Kilmarnock took the lead, Jones felled by Franks and Sammon took the

penalty. The home side in buoyant mood as they took the lead. But

Boyce scored the equaliser after McDonald's save, but there was Boyce

to force the ball home to make it 1-1. And in the second half Boyce

gave County the edge. A mistake in the Kilmarnock defence and Boyce

lobbing his 24th goal of the season. Can County hold on to him? For

Kilmarnock, thoughts turn to Lee McCullough, will he be the man to

take them forward. Talks likely to continue over a beer or two tonight

as Kilmarnock celebrate the 20th anniversary of winning the Scottish

Cup. But Ross County won 2-1. You are still there. There was I trying

to create a bit of jeopardy. Inverness are relegated. Winning the

game meant nothing, the damage was done early in the season. They have

won three of the last four and given themselves a chance, but too little

too late. Runs where they couldn't buy a victory put them in a position

where they were chasing. The worst defensive record in the league and

that always puts you near the bottom of the table. And questions to be

answered Stuart? Yes, first we know that Greg Tansey is off to Aberdeen.

There is always the debate about how does a club afford and reorganise

itself for the Championship. Of course the question mark over the

manager. Does the manager stay? Does he get a stay of execution. Or more

likely does Ritchie Foran disappear? On that cheerpy not - -cheery note

let's head to Peterhead. What happened? Some dispatching done.

Peterhead left floundering as Forfar filleted them. With the kind of

meaty performance that could fill a Forfar Bridie. Denholm cracked in a

third. And Malone made it 4-0. That piled the misery on. Brown pulled

one back from 22 yards. But Peters restored the advantage. 7-2 on

aggregate and promotion for The Loons. Hamilton have preserved their

status, they have got now to look forward to playing Dundee United on

a two-legged play-off Craig, on that form, they have taken care of one

Dundee club, can they take care of the other? They can do it. But they

lost four going into this. This was a big game for them and they had to

generate confidence. They did all those things today. But it is a real

dog fight and the last couple of years the Premiership sides have

come through. They have looked fresher. Hamilton need to put in a

good performance in the week and set up for a big game back in front of

their own fans. United have been playing well as well. Yes, I have a

feeling, there is a bit of momentum with United. I think it will be a

dogged affair. For some reason or another and not just because of

Hamilton's presence in the tie, I think it will be a win ugly

situation. It tends to favour the Premiership team. So whether

Hamilton can eke out a 1-0 over the two legs or whether Dundee United

have more sparkle. Who knows. But it will be a dogged set of games.

Hamilton have won a play-off before? Yes they have managed to be the

Championship side and they beat Hibs to get promoted and lost at home and

won at Easter Road and won on penalties. Some of the players will

know what they're facing. But United strug it would mid season --

struggled mid season, but they finished well. Two good performances

to see off Falkirk. It is an even game. Now another of your teams of

day, Stuart, the mighty Blue Brazil. Football is a wonderful thing. I

said, Cowdenbeath have missed the last six penalties and then low and

behold they score them all. Yes and rightly so. I will always be accused

of east coast bias. Rightly so. I wanted Cowdenbeath to stay, for one

personal reason, one of greatest books I have read on Scottish

football, Black Diamonds and the Blue Brazil that explains the

importance of Cowdenbeath to the community, the community goes back

to the mining era. It is a brilliant book and makes you understand the

passion for that club within a small community. I thought it was great. I

wanted them to win. You don't care about the people in East Kilbride.

They have their own future to write. But it is Black Diamonds and the

Blue Brazil. Forfar finished second in the division and they had, a

Devon Loch moment, allowing Arbroath to come through. They went behind to

Peterhead and powered through this time. I thought Peterhead at home

would be tough. I think they're confidence has been eradicated

during the season. You want to finish the season on a high. Forfar

didn't manage that. But produce the goods. The play-offs are not over.

Later we will know who will be promoted with League One winners

Livingston, because it is the second leg of the Championship final it

kicks off at quarter past 5 between Alloa and prexin. Kin. Al-- Brechin.

Alistair is it all to play for? Yes finely balanced, a quarter of an

hour until kick off as the home side trying to turn around a 1-0 defeat.

Brechin haven't played second tier football for over a decade. They

shipped six goals the last time they were here. But in a pleasant evening

they have a chance to deny Alloa a return. They may have finished

adrift of their hosts but they could face another year of thierd tier

football. -- third tier football. Brechin go with the same team. Alloa

bring back their top scorer, Greg Spence. Read any books about them?

I'm going to go on balance with Brechin and again a fact of

football, through bias and that is Darren Dods, the former St Johnston

centre-back is their manager. I am looking for them to do well. Jim

Goodwin won the cup at McDermid park. Brechin on edge. Craig, what

do you think will win. Jim Goodwin saying he was pleased with a 1-0

defeat, given how much Brechin dominated? It looks a tight one?

Yes, but for some reason, I fancy Alloa. They started the season well

and they lose the manager and he saves St Mir -- St Mirren from

relegation and he may just get the team up. I fancy Alloa. Brechin have

just squeezed into the play-offs and progressed. And look, you know, the

big argument there, because Forfar won of their local rivals is doing

well with this great win today against Peterhead. So there will be

a bit of rivalry in that part of the country. I think that I just have a

feeling that Brechin will do enough. Nice to have a hedge in the

Championship as well chl. A welcome addition to the league. Are you

allowed to do hedge betting? The top six... I made a mistake,

last show of the season, season finale, I'm out of here, we will see

We begin with the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership.

That match is still to come, Alloa Athletic versus Brechin City,

kick-off at 5:15pm, Brechin City have a 1-0 lead from the first leg.

The SPFL League 1 play-off second leg final, Peterhead 1-5 Forfar

Athletic. The aggregate score 7-2 in favour of Forfar Athletic. The

League 2 play-off final second leg, Cowdenbeath 1-1 East Kilbride. 1-1

on aggregate but Cowdenbeath winning a penalty shoot out 5-3. One more

result to come, Sky Bet English League 1, the play-off final.

Bradford City 0-1 Millwall. Let's have one last look this season on

the results show at the premiership table.

This is how the bottom six finishes, Inverness Caledonian Thistle take

the drop to the Championship by a single point. Hamilton Academical

finishing second bottom so they going to a two legged play-off

against Dundee United. Now then, the top six teams in the premiership, I

think I said that earlier...! They are in action tomorrow.

Now, even though the final standings are already confirmed.

At least one team still has something to play for.

It is the champions Celtic of whom I speak.

They are home to Hearts who haven't won a match post-split.

Celtic invincible so far this season -

Partick Thistle their latest victims in midweek.

We have the evidence to prove it. Craig, another steam roller of a

victory for Celtic. There is no stopping them. Leigh Griffiths,

Dembele, so many avenues in the front area where they can hurt you,

so many players back and find the back of the net, and Tom Rogic back

in the field, quality midfielder, not known for scoring a lot of goals

but given licence to get up there and support it. I thought Partick

would be a tough one for them. Decent top six finish. They have

been poor against the big guns. They have lost against the top six and

only won against the bottom six. Something they have to work on.

People think Celtic will take their foot off the gas and think about the

cup final but they keep producing victories and that is another

wonderful goal. Take their foot off the gas, perhaps people may have

thought that, but so many things still to achieve, record number of

goals, record number of points, this invincible is task. That is the real

motivation for the squad of players. Brendan Rodgers has had another kind

of benefit in that he is beginning to bring players in. I went to see

St Johnstone play at Celtic Park a couple of weeks back and he fielded

two of their young fringe players. He is starting to bring people

forward, bring them on, and always has options. You look at their bench

and the bench could probably go out there and do a job in the

premiership. It is just a really phenomenal squad he has available.

He has been the phenomenon this year as a manager. He's made that club,

live in ways that has not been witnessed in decades. Hearts by

contrast are on a terrible run. They were beaten soundly, perhaps, 1-0

against St Johnstone. They had a good second half against St

Johnstone but they looked like a lame Hearts team by comparison.

Prior to the appointment of Ian Kasold whose appointment has not

been as good as people hoped, including myself. Do you think

people feel let down? Kind of, I bought the idea he was this kind of

football innovator, that he had vision, that he had some kind of

greater astute tactical awareness and it has just not proven to be the

case. Chris Kayden who got the goal for St Johnstone had a really fine

match and I look forward to him doing something against Rangers

tomorrow. St Johnstone against Rangers tomorrow, St Johnstone

didn't have the best of mid-weeks, beaten by Aberdeen, the first defeat

for the Dons at Ibrox in 36 years. Write down the middle, Rangers

players clattering into each other. The ball is in the back of the net,

and Aberdeen are a good side and have had a good season. If you give

them the lead they will give you confidence and they got the delight

of a second goal, put themselves in a good position. I didn't see any

way back for Rangers but they kept plugging away. Pedro Caixinha has

come in, a few young players on that income interesting to see if he they

play against St Johnstone tomorrow. Martyn Waghorn, as you will see

shortly, got Rangers back into it and I thought they might sneak a

point here but for Rangers it's all about next season, new players

coming in, the players who are there and haven't really made the grade

will have to move on. It will be a vastly different Rangers team next

season. What about for St Johnstone? Putting the cap on another

remarkable season. The small kind of things that are there to be played

for his first league every small club likes to get a result against

the big Glasgow teams. But further than that this would be the greatest

ever points total in the top league ever in the club's history. We've

got forth and we've done really well over six seasons and we are back in

Europe again and I think the players will be told to go out there and try

and win the game as well and then you can have your five days off and

back into training again because you got a European draw coming up.

Aberdeen and this all tomorrow and then the cup final at three matches

in Glasgow for them, all about getting ready for the big end of

season showdown with Celtic. It is going to be so difficult it becomes

a mental problem. When you run out and the other team comes out of the

tunnel and you think every time we play this lot we lose, Aberdeen must

get over it. Derek McInnes was keen to point out every time they play

them they are getting closer, is that fair comment? He will know

better because I haven't seen all the games but Celtic always looked

the stronger outfit. Last season they beat them a couple of times and

you felt in a cup final Aberdeen would have a chance but the way

things stand the smart money will be on Celtic. But if Aberdeen can get

playing, if Hays down one side and McGinn is flying, we know Adam

Rooney can score, but the problem is at the back and keeping Celtic out.

We spoke so much about the Celtic strikeforce, the number of players

Brendan Rodgers has who can come on and make an impact. If the players

who start are not doing it the people who come off the bench are

more than capable of scoring goals so it will be tough for Aberdeen.

Gents, I'm afraid not just for tonight but alas for the season, I'm

wiping the tears out of my eyes. However, there's still some life

left in the highlights Look, Jonathan Sutherland
