To have your name and grave don the world's oldest football trophy. In

recent years some less familiar names have been carved onto the

Scottish Cup. Their first major trophy. Names which have never been

on it before. This is history, Highland history. A name which

hadn't been on it for more than a century. Incomes the corner. In goes

the goal from David Gray! A moment of Scottish sporting history. This

time a familiar name on the trophy once more. For the 36th time, Celtic

have done it. Or one which was last engraved on it 26 years ago. The

Scottish Cup winners for 1990, Aberdeen. An enthralling match in

prospect. Celtic aiming to clinch the treble, Aberdeen hoping to hold

the trophy for the first time in 26 years. A cracking time here at the

stadium. Moussa Dembele is back but he is on

the bench. Leigh Griffiths is up front. It is strong, there is

strong, as you would expect, threats all over the place in the Celtic

side. No Adam Rooney for Aberdeen. What a decision that is by Derek

McInnes. The Dons' top scorer will cut a frustrated figure among the

subs. His place goes to Jayden Stockley. Jack returns for his first

start in a month. The absolute shocking and tragic

events of Monday night in Manchester were so bring, yet more lives

unnecessarily cut short at Hampden Park -- and Hampden Park will fall

silent to pay tribute to those killed or injured and affected at

the start of the week. Innocent people. Many Young children simply

went to a music concert and did not come home.

The 132nd Scottish Cup final. It has not finished goalless since

1990. Will it be a treble for Celtic or will Aberdeen end a weight of 27

years, the trophy they were accustomed to picking up in the

1980s. The Scottish champions on an unbeaten run of 32 games, and even

then, that defeat was inflicted by Barcelona and Lionel Messi's double.

With Arsene Wenger's flamboyant Arsenal and Conte's Juventus. Celtic

matched them. He is an Stockley combined not once but twice. It is

an Aberdeen corner. Yes, good play by Aberdeen. Again, caring teeny

showing what a top defender he is. -- Kieron Tierney. Stockley has been

sent off three times this season. Hayes has hosted in! Well, well,

that was not in the Celtic script. What a finish by Hayes. The Dons

lead the final. It is a set play something they have worked on. It is

a fantastic left the did finish. He has been one of their star men this

season. Once again Aberdeen have drawn blood nine minutes into this

Scottish Cup final. What a moment for Jonny Hayes.

A great challenge by Shinnie. It breaks to Stuart Armstrong. He

levels that! Just over a minute after going behind, Stuart Armstrong

smashes Celtic back on terms! What a reaction from Celtic. A player who

has had an absolutely incredible season. There is one thing in his

mind, a touch, a sensational finish into the bottom corner. He is having

a terrific campaign, Stuart Armstrong. That is his 17th goal of

the season. What a return. Derek McInnes will be absolutely furious.

To take the lead and then give it away. Shinnie is an side here. --

onside. Celtic almost forgot about Graeme Shinnie there. He almost

ghosted in. Shinnie does well. I think the option should have been to

cut back, the angle wasn't right for the shot. Brendan Rodgers and his

assistant, asking questions of the fourth official who is John

McKendrick. Kieran Tierney has gone down off the

ball. He has a bleeding mouth. Here we go. It is Stockley. He has been

done for this plenty this season. Brown has lost out to McGinn who is

going to get it back here. Great to Logan. A relatively comfortable save

for Gordon. Ryan Jack shoots. They have tested the Celtic keeper twice

in the last couple of seconds. He doesn't score many, Ryan Jack. He

got his first in two years earlier this season. He has managed a

couple. Niall McGinn. Stockley! And Craig Gordon was there. Aberdeen

could have potentially been too - one there. He does well to peel off

his marker but cannot get any direction on the had. Was he fouled?

He was. Here is Bobby Madden. Suddenly, Celtic have a free kick in

very, very handsome territory. He certainly struck it well. He has

gone for power and he captures it very cleanly. It just turns past the

goalkeeper's post. It is a wonderful strike and it only just turned at

the last minute. Aberdeen just trying to see this out.

All hands to the pump for Aberdeen here. It is Griffiths' ball! Scott

Sinclair. A great bit of play from Celtic. This is a sensational ball

in. McClain to McGinn. Tricky play by Sinclair and he has

popped it through to Griffiths. He has Rogic and single out on the

left. It is a corner. Without a deflection that might have gone in.

Great counterattack by Celtic. He has but one thing on his mind, can I

get a shot of? Better from Celtic. Almost. Stockley who didn't gamble.

It is all about the quality of the cross. It is an unbelievable cross

into the box. Stockley tries but he is just too late.

Here goes Rogic. Sinclair is in here.

A good stop from Lewis. The movement of Scott Sinclair in behind was

brilliant. He timed his run perfectly. Takes a decent touch. A

good save from Joe Lewis. Celtic trying to pin Aberdeen back.

McGregor has lost out to Hayes. He has McLean screaming for it in the

middle. It is behind him. What a let off for Celtic and specifically from

Calum McGregor. It all comes from Scott Brown's poor path. Kenny

cannot quite reach it. It is a massive opportunity.

He is unlucky! What a hit that was from Roberts. We know this is what

he is capable of. I think Joe Lewis gets a fingertip touch on this. He

does. That is a fantastic save. Just under 50,000 in Hampden Park

for this one. Two big, big chances for Celtic in quick succession. Joe

Lewis does well to get a fingertip on it and Mikael Lustig cannot get

the connection away. It is a free header for Boyata!

Celtic are creating the better opportunities in the last ten or 15

minutes. Boyata states his marker and really must score. That was a

big, big miss. You have got to hit the target at least.

He couldn't resist the shot and why not? It opened up for Graeme

Shinnie. He takes a Berlin first touch. We have seen him score from

that range before. Craig Gordon has a decent save.

Gordon holds on. But could have been awkward given the conditions.

A great save. Sinclair. That was a fabulous save. Not for the first

time this afternoon. Griffiths again. You can hear the screams on

the pitch of frustration. That was a good strike from Griffiths and a

brilliant save from Joe Lewis. Griffiths did so well there. It is a

good ball from Sinclair. Another chance comes and goes for the Player

of the Year. Scott Sinclair in this match has missed two absolutes that

is. One writer the end of the first half and that one there. It is as if

it gets stuck under his foot. You do not want to be losing cup finals at

this stage. Winning them, it would be so dramatic. There is a chance

again for Celtic. It is Mikael Lustig. I think it went through him.

Aberdeen cannot get out. They cannot get out here.

McGregor. Well off target. It was another big opportunity for Lustig.

I do not know what he did with his header. You think he's going to nod

this into the ground. Go. He missed times the header. It is almost

behind them. It is another big chance. There have been lots of big

chances in the final. We have not had extra time in the Scottish Cup

final since 2006. It looked like we were getting at last year. Will

there be a late winner this time around?

Two to play. It is Tom Rogic. Celtic have the treble. It is about to be

delivered in the most spectacular and dramatic fashion. The scourge of

Aberdeen, Tom Rogic, does it again. The Aberdeen players are

heartbroken, they are on their knees. They have put so much into

this game. It looked like it was going to take a moment of brilliance

from a player to win it for Celtic. This was certainly brilliant from

Rogic. Albeit a bit easy for me. He went past Considine. Tired legs. Joe

Lewis has kept them out all match. He could not stop this one. It is

Tom Rogic's fourth goal against Aberdeen this season. He just keeps

on doing it, as does that man. In Celtic's modern history, they have

only managed to win the trebles in their entire history. In modern

times, the impact of Brendan Rodgers is right up there. He can thank that

Australian. Yes, the Aberdeen supporters, they know it is done

now, surely. Added time in added time. We will probably get an extra

minute because of the celebrations that understandably greeted that

Rogic goal. Taylor wins the header and Gordon old son. A free kick to

Celtic. The diagonal ball comes in. Taylor wins it well. Rooney is an

inch away from the equaliser. It is all but done for the Dons. They have

put so much into this final. They will get credit for it. But that

will be no crumb of comfort for Derek McInnes and his side. Celtic

are standing on the shoulders of giants. The season of their dreams.

It ends in the most rheumatic style. Brendan Rodgers is a treble winning

Celtic manager. The lead, the League Cup, and now the Scottish Cup. As

clean sweep as you can get. -- league. Not a single defeat in any

of those competitions. Rodgers ensures immortality status at Celtic

football club. Tom Rogic wins the day, he wins the cup. Aberdeen lead

through Hayes, cancelled out by Armstrong. It is Rogic the script

tomorrow morning's headlines. It will be the 37th Scottish Cup

victory for Celtic football club. The Invincibles. The treble. It is

Celtic's Scottish Cup again. Sum up your emotions as the ball hit

the back of the net. Hard to put in towards. It is what you dream of. We

have been working so hard this season and we knew what was at

stake. We know what it means to the fans. And believable.

Congratulations, can you believe it? We always had believed. In the

second half, we grew in confidence in our passing. We created chance

after chance. As the game went on, I thought we would get a clear-cut

chance. Tom did magnificently for the goal. We got what we deserved.

For this season to go all the way through the league without getting

defeated and to win two trophies and clean up the treble, it is the best

feeling you could experience. How did you feel when the ball hit the

back of the net? Relief. I did not think it would come. Aberdeen give

us a great game, they have been outstanding and got to two cup

finals. They have chased us in the lead, but we knew that our fitness

levels were taking. In the 90th minute, we scored and we knew it was

great play from Tom Rogic. We came to play so it is disappointing. Any

injury time goal against you is sought to take. In a cup final, it

compounds it more. Rogic showed class. You have got to commend that

level of skill. But we are disappointed that we have not won

the cup because we wanted to win it for so many people. Forgive me for

asking, you have been linked with Sunderland. Would you welcome back

approach, is that challenge you would welcome? This is not the time

to speak about my future. Today was about winning a trophy for Aberdeen.

I love my job. I have said that time and time again. From tomorrow I will

concentrate on bringing good players into the club. Massive

congratulations to Celtic, treble winners, fantastic achievement. It

was a fantastic game of football to watch. It was brilliant. Everyone

had written Aberdeen off before the game. They should be proud of their

performance. Fill of commitment, brave, with quality. For 60 minutes

they were the better team. It was an uncharacteristic performance from

Celtic. I hate to give you praise but earlier in the week, I remember

you talking about how if Aberdeen had a chance in this match, they

needed to press high. They did. Yes, and it paid dividends in the early

part of the game. This is what we were talking about. You cannot allow

Celtic to fall into a rhythm and play passing football. You have to

stop it at the source. That is what Aberdeen did. You see the number of

players not allowing the Celtic team any time on the ball. That is Andrew

Considine, the left back, who is the furthest man up the park. That means

Craig Gordon has to play a long pass. That is what you want to do

with Celtic. No time space for the Celtic players. If the first player

does not get it, the second player makes it from the tour. There is

Niall McGinn getting a strike on goal. It continues again, the

bollards recycled and they win the second ball. Ryan Jack gets the

strike. That happened through the first half. Craig Gordon was the man

having to play longer passes. From an Aberdeen perspective, it is what

you wanted. It was as uncomfortable as I have seen Celtic all season.

Set pieces would be important if Aberdeen had a chance. That is where

the first goal came from. This is something they have worked on the

training ground. Jonny Hayes arriving late in the box. You can

see Leigh Griffiths, who has him at the edge of the box, he switches. It

was interesting to watch Stockley moving from the back post to the

front and taking Lustig with them. They had loaded the front area

knowing that if it was deep, Jonny Hayes could get around the back. He

still has lots to do, Sinclair. It was hard on the half volley. It is a

slippy surface. A dream start for Aberdeen. It did not last for long.

Just as you look at Ryan Jack at this moment, he steps out and leaves

his position. If he held his position, he would still be in the

game. Can they get out quicker? Definitely. For me, it all comes

from Ryan Jack leaving his position instead of holding. He would be able

to shuffle across. Stuart Armstrong would not get the strike away. Do

not take anything away from the strike. It is great. The first type

sets it up. He takes it with his right foot, brings the ball in front

of him, and he is able to get it out of his feet. A quality player, two

footed. Right foot touch, smashes it with his left. A great

start to the match and suddenly this incident which Derek McInnes has

described as an unfortunate accident. Why is this intentional?

It definitely could have been a red card. It had force. Kieran Tierney

has a broken jaw. Was it intentional? I think he throws his

arm into the face of Kieran Tierney. Do you think it was intentional?

Idea. I do not. I think he is a clumsy player. He is lucky. He

could've been sent off. He throws his arm. Jayden Stockley is a clumsy

player. He has a distinct lack of self-awareness in what is around

him. This is the third time an incident like this has happened. I

think he is clumsy. It is not intentional but he's fortunate. That

could have been a sending off. Bobby Madden did not have a good view. The

linesman in the fourth official have a fantastic view. Aberdeen created a

lot of chances, ten shots on target. Celtic 22 in the end. They began to

take hold. This is at the end of the first half. What a ball from

Griffiths. You're expecting the net to burst from Sinclair. An

unbelievable save from Joe Lewis. The tip of his fingertips. It comes

off the post. At this stage, Celtic were creating lots of chances at the

end of the match. That should have been a goal. Another fantastic save

from Lewis. That is a really good save. He gets down low. This one is,

he is getting low as well. Scott Sinclair does not make great contact

but this is along the ground. If Joe Lewis does not get going, that could

have slipped through his legs and trundled across. Joe Lewis was

keeping Aberdeen in the game. It was a fine display on so many levels

from Aberdeen. We need to emphasise that, but as the match will run,

they got pegged further back. That is why this was the strangest

decision of the day, that substitution should have been in

reverse. Adam Rooney should have started begin. Aberdeen are forced

back. If they had Jayden Stockley on the part, they would have had an out

ball. In the first half, Graeme Shinnie was on top of the ball.

Rooney is a striker. Every Aberdeen player is only 40 yards from goal.

No pressure on the ball. Graeme Shinnie has dropped off. It is very

difficult to hold the line without pressure. When Celtic dominate

possession, they will force you back into your defensive third and break

you down. Why does Adam Rooney not give you the same act ball as Jayden

Stockley? They seem similar but they are not. Stockley is more physical

in the air. He can hold you. Derek McInnes spoke about that before the

game, he is a platform for them to get up the park. Their tactics in

the first half were not dependent on Jayden Stockley. In the second half,

when they were forced back, they needed someone like Jayden Stockley.

They could not get out, they had no one to hate. You could see the

fatigue setting in. Suddenly you saw eyesight, a lightning bolt in the

sky. It took my eye away from the ball. I was commentating and the

lightning bolt came out of the sky justice Rogic struck it. It was a

fantastic goal. I feel sorry for Aberdeen. They were out on their

feet. Do not take anything away from Rogic. This is individual

brilliance. He has such an ability to drive past players. Great feet.

For a big man, he has wonderful technique and great feet. Ghosting

past players is a hallmark of his game. Derek McInnes was right, you

can have a go at Andrew Considine, but he is shattered. They have put

everything into the game. Credit to Celtic for exploiting them. Celtic

have proven again how strong and fit they are, getting stronger as the

game goes on. Credit to Kieran Tierney. It was a sore one from

Jayden Stockley. He went to hospital, came back, and he tweeted,

it was worth a broken jaw. Pure passion, pure adrenaline rush. It

shows you what it means to him. He could not wait to get back. He has a

broken jaw and he is able to scream and shout. He will need an operation

which could make him a doubt for the Scotland match against England. He

is a massive bed. He played well at right back in the last game. It is a

problem area for Scotland. You can see what it means, he is really

determined. It shows you what it meant, getting his hands on the

trophy. He was not staying in hospital. It is the fairy tale end

to the season for Celtic. Let's hear from the treble winning manager,

Brendan Rodgers. You have done it, you have clinched the treble, on the

Scottish Cup. Can you sum up how it feels? It was a very special

feeling. Obviously how the game went, to score near the end, it

sometimes makes it even better. The players deserve a massive amount of

credit. We said to them before the game, everyone wants to write

history. You did that last week when you went through the season

unbeaten. We celebrated history with the Lisbon Lions on Thursday. In

order for them to write about us, you need to make history, go out and

make it happen. As you took the applause of the Celtic fans as you

did the lap of honour after lifting the cup, can you tell us how it

feels? It must be a once-in-a-lifetime feeling? It is,

but hopefully it will not be. What has been great is how fork is the

players have been. To go into the game, of that magnitude, I am very

proud to have won it with them. It is a real historic trophy, the

Scottish Cup. I have watched it over many years on the television.

Obviously the sensor in the game was it was a special occasion. It

clearly was that. We wanted to win it, to cap what has been a

monumental season by the players. Their efforts, all the work they

have put in over the course of the season. They were very much

deserving of it. The feeling and emotion is clearly very happy. It

will not sink in for a few days. We have seen plenty of Kolo Toure

dancing this season, that is the sure. Let's hope there is plenty of

Silva polish at Celtic Park as there are plenty of trophies. These are

the scenes as Celtic celebrate the treble. Brendan Rodgers joins some

pretty salted Kompany. Jock Stein won it in the 1960s. Martin O'Neill

followed it up in 2001 and Brendan Rodgers has brought forth -- he has

brought forth treble. Has it been a dream season? What makes it a huge

achievement is when you look at last season, this is in such stark

contrast. It is with the majority of the squad who were so heavily

criticised last year. For me, that epitomises what a good marriage

Brendan Rodgers is that he has been able to turn around so many players.

He has added some really quality team members. Celtic did not play to

their brilliant best. Can they go unbeaten again next year?

Domestically, it would be very hard to do. What are the targets? He said

he had six of their seven, I would love to know what the other one was!

The target is to go as far as they can in the Champions League and I

think there will be a few players Wroughton. As far as they can, I

think he is more specific. I think Brendan Rodgers will be thinking

about getting out of the group stages. Progress in the Champions

League is the main one. Do you think he will do big business in the

summer transfer market? Yes, I do. The centre-half is the big one for

me. When you see the team go right at Celtic, they are still bit

vulnerable at the back. When you go into the Champions League, you get

stretched Kameni guys to be a one-on-one on top strikers. I still

don't think they are capable. You think they will let Brendan Rodgers

splash as much cash as possible? Why not. I think he will bring into

three additions to the squad to try and push this Champions League. A

day which started with hope among the Aberdeen fans at they might

finally enter the 27 year wait to lift the Scottish Cup has ended

ultimately in disappointment. In the Granite City for us today was Jim

Spence. The Red Army is on the march to Hampden to support Aberdeen in

the Scottish Cup final. The Dons have won this trophy seven times.

Are the fans confident today as they head towards Glasgow? The big

question is will the Northern Lights be shining bright today? Definitely.

It is a tough thing but they will do it. We will see Shinnie lift the

cup. We have to see them go straight from the start but it will be 2-1

Aberdeen. We will see them win. We want them to win, Celtic want to win

the treble. Come on, Aberdeen! Excitement is mounting in the City.

With thousands of fans unable to get tickets to travel to Hampden, the

pubs are rocking, especially here in one of the best-known watering holes

in Aberdeen for football fans. McGinn's corner. He has coasted in!

CHEERING A great challenge by Shinnie. It

breaks to Stuart Armstrong. He levels immediately.

I think there is still a chance here. I was doubtful before the game

but I think we definitely have a chance. His Lord and it went

downhill quickly with the equaliser but they have to keep fighting,

going for goal and fingers crossed. Aberdeen will come up fighting and

we're going to win. He has got McLean screaming for it in the

middle. It is behind him. Very disappointed. I thought

Aberdeen played very well. I'm afraid they just run out of puff.

Disappointed right at the end there. There was a bit of a negative

tactics. Peered devastation. Aberdeen excelled themselves today.

They were the better team I think. It is just unfortunate. Same old

story. A really bitter blow for the Dons' fans in there today. They

thought the Scottish Cup would be returning to Pittodrie. For the

Dons' they wait for the Scottish Cup goes on. It wasn't the result we

wanted but it was an absolutely brilliant day. The players were

fantastic. You could not ask for any more from them. It is so sad that

they are not going to win. They deserved to win. Apart from that, it

is a long way back. Ultimately disappointment for those

Aberdeen fans. Could Aberdeen have played any better today? I don't

think so. They really gave everything. They should be proud of

their performance. Tactically, I think Derek McGuinness got it right.

They just ran out of steam. They could not keep up the tempo past 60

minutes. We have talked about Celtic's strength and fitness and it

showed towards the end of the match. They just got stronger and stronger.

Aberdeen got deeper and they ran out of steam. Aberdeen's performance,

they could not get any better, they just had to maintain it for a longer

period of time. The fitness of Celtic was the defining factor in a

game which made the difference between Aberdeen potentially lifting

the trophy and Celtic as well. It has still been a great season for

Aberdeen. To reach the Cup Final and put on the show like they did today,

it has still been a successful season. We have all seen this link,

Sunderland and Derek McGuinness, Michael, how important is it for

Aberdeen at they keep ahold of Derek McGuinness. It is very important.

His job has been phenomenal. They keep thinking to yourself, the

initial surge to get to the top six is the easy part. Those small gains

year-on-year, he has kept doing it. Every season he has improved. Is it

important to keep Derek McInnes? Hugely important for Aberdeen. How

much further can he take Aberdeen? At the start of the season I said

they could not have replicated what they did and he continues to prove

people wrong. They are going to lose a few players this summer, big

players so it is up to them to get their recruitment spot on and come

back at the start of the season next year ready to go again. Ryan Jack

going, Greg Tansy coming in is a very good replacement. I would

almost say it is a better move. Niall McGinn going is going to be a

sore one but young Wright is a good player. Aberdeen will be on a good

footing next season. Michael, Stephen, thank you. Let's have a
