Hello. The Super League clubs have been busy bunnies this weekend.

2:06:502:06:53

There have been two rounds of matches

2:06:532:06:55

over the Easter holiday period.

2:06:552:06:57

We've got 14 games to show you tonight

2:06:572:06:59

and if the season so far is anything to go by,

2:06:592:07:02

it could get quite dramatic!

2:07:022:07:04

COMMENTATOR: How about this for a spectacular try?

2:07:132:07:16

What a try for the Castleford Tigers!

2:07:252:07:28

Oh, he's done it again!

2:07:412:07:44

Unbelievable!

2:07:462:07:48

Eorl Crabtree has been in the thick of it this weekend.

2:07:512:07:54

He's alongside Brian Noble to have a look back at the complete

2:07:542:07:57

Easter programme.

2:07:572:07:58

It all kicked off on Thursday with the big derby match

2:07:582:08:01

between Hull KR and Hull FC.

2:08:012:08:03

Your commentator is Dave Woods.

2:08:032:08:05

It's a whole team that travels here with some confidence.

2:08:072:08:10

Lee Radford's first derby in charge

2:08:102:08:12

and his side have won their last two Super League games.

2:08:122:08:15

Richard Horne fit again and on the bench.

2:08:152:08:19

But Hull KR are on the back of three successive league wins.

2:08:192:08:22

Justin Poore returns from suspension for them.

2:08:222:08:25

Here's Danny Houghton. It's Hadley.

2:08:272:08:29

He's coming on strong

2:08:292:08:31

but four Rovers defenders making sure he's going no further.

2:08:312:08:34

It's Houghton again.

2:08:362:08:38

Across the face of one and into the arms here of Rankin.

2:08:382:08:42

Jordan Rankin with the game's opening try.

2:08:432:08:46

It is first blood to Hull FC.

2:08:462:08:48

Switching it right and Rankin with a hand-off on Horne.

2:08:512:08:54

Then the surge and pace to get himself over.

2:08:542:08:56

It is a decent position they find for themselves here, Hull KR.

2:08:592:09:03

Neville Costigan

2:09:042:09:06

driving it to within five yards.

2:09:062:09:08

Hodgson at dummy-half.

2:09:082:09:10

They got the numbers here, and they've got the try!

2:09:102:09:15

Terrific by Kevin Larroyer.

2:09:152:09:18

Hull KR find their response.

2:09:182:09:21

Many were coming through and Larroyer was the man who was picked.

2:09:212:09:24

Presents a real opportunity.

2:09:272:09:28

It's going to be a measured kick to the corner on the sixth tackle here.

2:09:282:09:31

Where's this coming down? Welham was involved.

2:09:312:09:35

It is a try, I think, from Costigan who's claiming it

2:09:352:09:40

but the referee wants another look.

2:09:402:09:42

Onside, offside.

2:09:422:09:44

That seems to be OK from the attacking team's point of view

2:09:442:09:48

and who got hands on that?

2:09:482:09:50

It looks to have come off Whiting.

2:09:522:09:54

Costigan was the quickest to react.

2:09:552:09:58

-ANNOUNCER:

-And the decision is...

2:09:582:10:00

It's no try.

2:10:012:10:03

Hull KR are denied.

2:10:032:10:06

He is clearly unhappy.

2:10:072:10:11

Here's Hodgson rolling in quickly to dummy-half again.

2:10:112:10:14

Little flick of the hips.

2:10:142:10:16

They're keeping the ball alive.

2:10:162:10:18

The show and then a go here.

2:10:182:10:21

Travis Burns.

2:10:212:10:22

Hodgson stands and waits.

2:10:242:10:26

The whole defence is scrambling to get into position.

2:10:262:10:28

It's going to be a crashed effort here!

2:10:282:10:31

They're in!

2:10:312:10:33

Michael Lehman has forced his way over.

2:10:332:10:36

He scored last week and he has scored again.

2:10:382:10:41

He's getting his first taste of a Humberside Derby.

2:10:412:10:45

Swept across here. Jordan Thompson is going to have a go.

2:10:472:10:51

He is stretching the resolve of that Rovers defence

2:10:512:10:54

but they just about hang on.

2:10:542:10:56

But nervous times for those in red and white.

2:10:562:11:00

Good little flick away.

2:11:002:11:01

It's going to be Bowden who's going to bundle his way over.

2:11:012:11:06

The off-load from Liam Watts was superb

2:11:062:11:09

and Bowden makes the most of it.

2:11:092:11:12

Good footwork. Good hand work.

2:11:122:11:14

And a good finish from Bowden,

2:11:142:11:16

despite the despairing last-minute attempt.

2:11:162:11:20

Hodgson. Still got tackles at the back here as well.

2:11:202:11:24

Driven forward by Justin Poore.

2:11:242:11:27

Hodgson at dummy-half.

2:11:272:11:29

To his left, they've got the numbers here again. Horne will reach!

2:11:292:11:34

And Graham Horne will claim it.

2:11:342:11:36

James Child gives it and Rovers rejoice!

2:11:382:11:42

So close to the line

2:11:452:11:47

and determination here from Horne against his former club to score.

2:11:472:11:51

Hodgson, swift up there again.

2:11:542:11:56

Fancies a little dabble from dummy-half himself.

2:11:562:11:59

They look as though they want to keep it alive here, and they do.

2:12:012:12:04

Searching wide. Step back on the inside.

2:12:042:12:08

Salter to his feet.

2:12:112:12:12

It is going to be the sixth tackle here, so the kick is needed.

2:12:122:12:16

The pressure is on. Welham knocks it back. Graham Hall to his left.

2:12:162:12:21

It's still alive. Horne again with a little grubber kick

2:12:212:12:24

and a second attempt and the finish!

2:12:242:12:27

Graham Horne, terrific effort.

2:12:272:12:30

Hull KR absolutely in their pomp now.

2:12:302:12:34

Hull are on the rack.

2:12:342:12:36

Well, it was desperate stuff on the final tackle.

2:12:382:12:42

Keep it alive so well.

2:12:422:12:45

Despite that determined scrambled Hull defence,

2:12:452:12:47

somehow Graham Horne finds a way through it.

2:12:472:12:50

Houghton.

2:12:522:12:54

They need to score quickly really

2:12:542:12:55

if they are going to get themselves back in the contest here, Hull FC.

2:12:552:12:59

This is a moment that might just present an opportunity

2:12:592:13:02

for Danny Houghton!

2:13:022:13:05

Wonderful work from dummy half.

2:13:052:13:07

But has he got it down?

2:13:072:13:09

Stretching over.

2:13:122:13:14

Has he got that ball down on the ground?

2:13:142:13:17

Does it touch the grass?

2:13:192:13:22

Try is given!

2:13:232:13:25

Danny Houghton did what mattered and Hull are right back in it.

2:13:272:13:31

These are nervous moments.

2:13:352:13:36

It is always a tense game but even more so here tonight.

2:13:362:13:39

Ellis trying to drag himself through, 40 metres away.

2:13:392:13:43

Richard Horne is the man at dummy-half.

2:13:432:13:46

He's going to go down this blind side.

2:13:462:13:49

Yeaman carries, dummies and then looks to his left

2:13:492:13:52

and then turns it on for a finish for Talanoa.

2:13:522:13:55

They are delighted. Hull right back in it.

2:13:552:13:59

Would you believe it, all square with minutes to go?

2:14:002:14:04

Yeaman working his magic down that blind side and Talanoa with a try.

2:14:042:14:09

Richard Whiting puts this over, Hull have the lead.

2:14:112:14:15

He has hit it well but he has pulled it wide. It remains all square.

2:14:152:14:20

Here comes Hodgson. Hull KR desperate for the position.

2:14:222:14:29

One point might be enough. Hodgson again.

2:14:292:14:32

They are still going to drive it forward.

2:14:322:14:35

Pushing that defence back. Big effort.

2:14:352:14:39

Now, have they got the numbers? Here it goes from Hall with a kick.

2:14:392:14:43

Has he gone it? Yes, he has!

2:14:432:14:46

Craig Hall is the hero in red and white

2:14:462:14:50

and Hull KR have snatched it right at the last.

2:14:502:14:55

Desperate stuff, but they are desperately happy.

2:14:552:14:59

Sandercock said afterwards that's the best win since I came here.

2:15:022:15:06

What does it feel like to win a game like that?

2:15:062:15:09

It was a proper derby, wasn't it? They got stuck into each other.

2:15:092:15:12

The intensity of the game for 80 minutes was as high as I have seen

2:15:122:15:16

at a derby game.

2:15:162:15:18

Lots of decisions to and from, and the excitement and the intensity

2:15:182:15:22

and the nerves.

2:15:222:15:24

He actually played every play of that game, Craig Sandercock,

2:15:242:15:26

when you looked at him on the television,

2:15:262:15:28

but it's a great win for them.

2:15:282:15:29

The manner of which they won can really galvanise your team

2:15:292:15:33

for the rest of the season.

2:15:332:15:34

They've hit a rich vein of form, Hull KR.

2:15:342:15:36

Such a difficult start for them. What's been the difference?

2:15:362:15:40

Probably just the fact that they've got a little bit more consistency

2:15:402:15:43

in what they're doing.

2:15:432:15:45

They've had less injuries on the way and for that game, it was immense.

2:15:452:15:49

The actual pressure everybody was under, including the coaches,

2:15:492:15:52

because that's the big game you want to win.

2:15:522:15:55

Fantastic spectacle. Great for the sport as well yet again.

2:15:552:15:58

The drop goal went directly through

2:15:582:16:00

the post which was quite nice to see.

2:16:002:16:03

I think we all enjoyed it.

2:16:032:16:05

Still a little bit sore, are we, about that one?

2:16:052:16:07

Not in the slightest, no.

2:16:072:16:10

For Hull KR, there were quite a few video referee decisions.

2:16:102:16:13

You can understand them getting a little twitchy.

2:16:132:16:16

Thankfully they came the right side of the result.

2:16:162:16:19

because there were two or three.

2:16:192:16:20

Craig Hall was involved in one

2:16:202:16:22

and a couple of no put-downs Early in the game.

2:16:222:16:25

Neville Costigan we saw there, you're thinking it's not our night

2:16:252:16:28

but, thankfully, they got the right side of the result which took

2:16:282:16:31

that element of controversy away.

2:16:312:16:33

Hull FC struggling to find consistency. What's the problem?

2:16:332:16:38

I am not entirely sure.

2:16:382:16:39

It's something they'll have to look into a little bit more closely

2:16:392:16:42

because against us they were absolutely fantastic.

2:16:422:16:45

They could sense that we were there for the taking against Hull KR.

2:16:452:16:49

They found a team who were equally up to the task

2:16:492:16:52

and someone who wanted to get one over them.

2:16:522:16:54

In the big games, when they've got two teams going head-to-head,

2:16:542:16:57

it's the ones that they are dropping at the moment.

2:16:572:17:00

There were two other matches on Thursday night.

2:17:002:17:02

Catalan were at The Hive to take on London,

2:17:022:17:04

while Leeds had a slightly shorter journey.

2:17:042:17:06

They were at Bradford.

2:17:062:17:08

Leeds Rhinos ran riot against Bradford Bulls on Thursday evening,

2:17:102:17:14

recording their biggest ever victory at Odsal.

2:17:142:17:17

Kevin Sinfield setting them on their way with the first of four

2:17:172:17:20

tries in the opening 15 minutes.

2:17:202:17:23

Scores from Moone and McGuire followed before Ryan Hall

2:17:232:17:26

touched down for his first of the evening as Leeds took full advantage

2:17:262:17:31

against a Bradford side who lost Jamie Foster and Matt Diskin

2:17:312:17:34

to illness and injury before the kick-off.

2:17:342:17:37

The Bulls' only try of the night came from this Lee Gaskell

2:17:372:17:40

opportunist interception.

2:17:402:17:43

The coach, Francis Cummings, was in dispirited mood afterwards

2:17:432:17:46

saying if anything can go wrong, it is going wrong at the moment.

2:17:462:17:50

The Rhinos completely dominated the second half,

2:17:522:17:55

with Ryan Hall scoring twice in quick succession

2:17:552:17:57

to complete yet another hat-trick.

2:17:572:18:00

Then it was a procession of flowing, attacking rugby

2:18:002:18:03

that Bradford simply could not live with.

2:18:032:18:06

It was the Bulls' sixth defeat in a row

2:18:072:18:09

as they wait on that appeal against their six-point deduction

2:18:092:18:13

to be lifted.

2:18:132:18:14

Confidence clearly at rock bottom.

2:18:142:18:17

Liam Sutcliffe,

2:18:172:18:19

who spent a month on loan with the Bulls earlier this season,

2:18:192:18:21

breaking through several tackles to round off this passage of play.

2:18:212:18:26

The pick of the tries came from Kallum Watkins,

2:18:262:18:29

as the England centre collected the ball on halfway

2:18:292:18:32

and steam-rollered his way through the Bulls' defence.

2:18:322:18:36

And this was impressive stuff from Leeds,

2:18:382:18:40

capped off by the perfect end to the perfect day,

2:18:402:18:44

as Rob Burrow celebrated his 400th appearance for the club

2:18:442:18:47

and his 13th year at Headingley.

2:18:472:18:49

Catalan Dragons continued their revival

2:18:532:18:55

as they made it four wins out of five at London.

2:18:552:18:58

Michael Oldfield scoring the first of five Catalan tries,

2:18:582:19:02

with Taia, Barthau and Pelissier also scoring

2:19:022:19:06

before this effort from Vincent Duport

2:19:062:19:08

put the French side 24 points clear

2:19:082:19:11

with just 12 minutes to go.

2:19:112:19:14

It looked to be plain sailing for the visitors

2:19:142:19:16

but, with 10 minutes left,

2:19:162:19:18

London started a remarkable fight back.

2:19:182:19:20

Mason Caton-Brown racing away for the second of his two tries.

2:19:212:19:25

And the Broncos started to believe.

2:19:272:19:29

This late effort from Denny Solomona

2:19:292:19:31

bringing London to within just one score.

2:19:312:19:34

But time ran out,

2:19:342:19:35

and it's now nine straight defeats

2:19:352:19:38

for the start of the season.

2:19:382:19:40

No real surprises in the Catalan-London result,

2:19:402:19:43

but signs of improvement again from London.

2:19:432:19:45

Yeah, it's good to see, because we want a competitive London side

2:19:452:19:48

and it's been disappointing when they've leaked so many points

2:19:482:19:51

and not really got many on the board.

2:19:512:19:54

But I think the good signs are

2:19:542:19:55

that these are young players coming through, London players,

2:19:552:19:58

which is great to see and, hopefully, they'll pick up

2:19:582:20:00

a few more points throughout the season.

2:20:002:20:02

Just looking at the Leeds-Bradford game,

2:20:022:20:03

we've waxed lyrical about Leeds' back line

2:20:032:20:05

and how well they're scoring tries, but defensively they've been really tight.

2:20:052:20:09

I think it's only St Helens have scored more than 12 points against them.

2:20:092:20:12

In all their games so far this year

2:20:122:20:14

they've only conceded 70 or 80 points. Wow.

2:20:142:20:16

Somebody's bending their backs there really well, aren't they,

2:20:162:20:19

and defending really well. And it's giving them the opportunity

2:20:192:20:22

to launch what is an exciting back line, you know,

2:20:222:20:24

when their forwards do their stuff,

2:20:242:20:26

so they've got that balance right,

2:20:262:20:27

they've really got some prowess in attack

2:20:272:20:29

and they're certainly bending their backs as well.

2:20:292:20:31

There were four games on Good Friday

2:20:312:20:33

when Castleford were looking to get back to winning ways

2:20:332:20:36

after defeat against Saints.

2:20:362:20:38

How pleased will Daryl Powell be with how they reacted at Wakefield?

2:20:382:20:41

Do you know what, they were fantastic in this game,

2:20:412:20:43

and Wakefield have been struggling for a little bit of form

2:20:432:20:45

and they kicked it off straightaway with a great Carney try.

2:20:452:20:48

And you just see him powering down the sideline

2:20:482:20:51

and this big fend of doom straight to the face -

2:20:512:20:53

get out my way, son, put the ball down.

2:20:532:20:55

That's what it's all about.

2:20:552:20:57

And then, off the back of that though,

2:20:572:20:58

Wakefield did have a few questions themselves.

2:20:582:21:01

A dodgy decision there, surely a knock-on.

2:21:012:21:04

But Reece Lyne down the outside with Jarrod Sammut in support,

2:21:042:21:06

which he's doing really well at the moment,

2:21:062:21:09

so it's good to see him finding a bit of a position

2:21:092:21:11

at the back as well, full-backer.

2:21:112:21:13

Interesting decision to play him there.

2:21:132:21:16

But Castleford were never going to give in

2:21:162:21:18

and this is what they've been showing

2:21:182:21:20

throughout the whole season so far.

2:21:202:21:21

Oliver Holmes through the middle with a lovely little off-load

2:21:212:21:24

and Scott Wheeldon with a bit of footwork.

2:21:242:21:26

Don't know where that's come from,

2:21:262:21:28

but it's good to see him in form as well.

2:21:282:21:29

They work really, really well.

2:21:292:21:31

This game was never over,

2:21:312:21:33

and the problem is that Wakefield just couldn't hang in there

2:21:332:21:36

right to the end.

2:21:362:21:37

Reece Lyne with another great try, good bounce of the ball.

2:21:372:21:40

Dodgy put-down as well, but, you know, one-handed,

2:21:402:21:43

you've got to give it to him.

2:21:432:21:45

Again though, it's Castleford,

2:21:452:21:47

they just wanted this game so much.

2:21:472:21:48

Liam Finn showing great bravery,

2:21:482:21:50

trying to tackle the post as well as scoring the try.

2:21:502:21:54

That took it to 32-20, but then Daryl Clark finished it off.

2:21:542:21:59

Beautifully, back on the inside,

2:21:592:22:00

with a great individual effort at the end.

2:22:002:22:03

Moving on to Warrington-Widnes. A funny game, this.

2:22:032:22:07

I don't think anybody saw this sort of score line coming.

2:22:072:22:09

I don't think anybody saw it.

2:22:092:22:11

Local derby, I would have expected a whole lot closer,

2:22:112:22:14

but O'Brien kicks here for Joel Monaghan,

2:22:142:22:15

which really got the Warrington side flying off to a great start

2:22:152:22:18

and they continued it.

2:22:182:22:19

You know, Mickey Higham with a trademark run from dummy half

2:22:192:22:23

and I think Chris Bridge on his outside, he does all the easy work.

2:22:232:22:26

Mickey Higham's done the hard work there,

2:22:262:22:29

but clearly a good start for the Warrington team.

2:22:292:22:31

And generally, when they get their good start,

2:22:312:22:33

they kick on and beat teams.

2:22:332:22:34

Looking a bit more like their old selves,

2:22:342:22:36

attacking-wise it seemed to gel in this game.

2:22:362:22:38

Yeah, they seemed to find their rhythm.

2:22:382:22:40

Rhys Evans finishing off the old traditional bounce pass,

2:22:402:22:42

beats everybody when he hits the ground

2:22:422:22:44

and they were in strong control.

2:22:442:22:46

And, you know, Paddy Flynn here

2:22:462:22:48

tries to bring them back into the game, you know, Widnes,

2:22:482:22:51

it's their only success of the game and he finishes this quite well.

2:22:512:22:55

But that's the only sign we saw from Widnes

2:22:552:22:57

and Denis Betts, their coach, was a little bit disappointed,

2:22:572:22:59

I think, with his reaction.

2:22:592:23:01

But you can't take anything away from Warrington.

2:23:012:23:03

And great ball-steal.

2:23:032:23:05

It releases Ryan Atkins under the sticks.

2:23:052:23:08

So everybody, all the usual culprits,

2:23:082:23:10

the Bridges and the Atkins, back to the fore for Warrington.

2:23:102:23:13

You know, they look very strong.

2:23:132:23:14

On to your game against Salford.

2:23:142:23:16

A big game for you guys.

2:23:162:23:18

Yeah, it was. It was a chance to get back on track,

2:23:182:23:21

and Shaun Lunt typically stealing the try

2:23:212:23:23

off the back of one of my carries,

2:23:232:23:25

which he does quite a lot!

2:23:252:23:27

Again, getting him back in the team's been fantastic for us.

2:23:272:23:30

He makes a lovely little break with a kick,

2:23:302:23:31

Grix back on the inside for Danny Brough and great support as well.

2:23:312:23:35

So, you know, we were doing it tough,

2:23:352:23:37

but we've managed to get back on track a little bit.

2:23:372:23:40

Adrian Morley, though,

2:23:402:23:41

he's been rolling back the years playing massive minutes,

2:23:412:23:44

and that one-out try was a spectacular try for him.

2:23:442:23:48

Salford, they didn't give in as well.

2:23:482:23:50

They played some interesting rugby,

2:23:502:23:52

but Rangi Chase, that's what he does best.

2:23:522:23:55

-Meli scoring a few tries, isn't he?

-He's playing well.

2:23:552:23:57

That left-hand side of Salford is very, very important

2:23:572:24:00

and they've got some talent in the team and they'll click.

2:24:002:24:02

And once they get a run of consistency

2:24:022:24:04

they'll trouble most teams.

2:24:042:24:06

They've got to bend their backs a little bit better, as we've seen,

2:24:062:24:09

but they've got a heck of a lot of prowess

2:24:092:24:11

and they're going to trouble some teams.

2:24:112:24:13

When they came back at you,

2:24:132:24:14

was there any sense of a wobble given recent results or not?

2:24:142:24:18

I'd like to say there wasn't

2:24:182:24:19

and we were confident that we'd quite easily

2:24:192:24:21

run away with it in the end, but it wasn't the case.

2:24:212:24:24

Against a team like Salford with so many great individuals,

2:24:242:24:26

you know, that you've got to go right to the final hooter.

2:24:262:24:29

Fortunately we did that,

2:24:292:24:30

Aaron Murphy picking up his hat-trick along the way as well,

2:24:302:24:33

which is great to see.

2:24:332:24:34

But it was always going to be tough against Salford.

2:24:342:24:37

A sense of relief to finally get back to winning ways?

2:24:372:24:40

Yeah, a massive relief.

2:24:402:24:41

And going over the weekend

2:24:412:24:42

we knew we had two really big games for ourselves

2:24:422:24:44

and we started it off really well with two points against Salford.

2:24:442:24:48

Well, the league leaders St Helens

2:24:482:24:50

took a 100% record into the Easter weekend.

2:24:502:24:52

Remember, they've had some dramatic victories over the last few weeks.

2:24:522:24:55

So, how did they get on against old rivals Wigan?

2:24:552:24:58

Stuart Pyke was watching.

2:24:582:25:00

Well, perfect conditions.

2:25:022:25:04

A sell-out crowd of just shy of 18,000

2:25:042:25:07

as Wigan looking to make the perfect start.

2:25:072:25:11

Farrell stopped just short. O'Loughlin.

2:25:112:25:15

O'Loughlin goes on his own! Has he got the ball down?

2:25:152:25:19

The Wigan captain thinks he's scored.

2:25:192:25:21

And he has, you know!

2:25:212:25:23

Richard Silverwood points to the spot

2:25:232:25:26

and Sean O'Loughlin...

2:25:262:25:27

Well, that was sloppy defending.

2:25:272:25:30

Great try.

2:25:312:25:33

Saints needing to get going in this derby match.

2:25:362:25:39

And they might just do that here with Lomax. Lomax and Makinson!

2:25:392:25:44

Tommy Makinson!

2:25:442:25:45

A terrific St Helens try.

2:25:452:25:48

They're back in it.

2:25:492:25:51

Well, that was something special from Jonny Lomax.

2:25:532:25:57

What a start to the season.

2:25:572:26:00

For both Lomax and for Makinson,

2:26:012:26:02

his tenth of the season.

2:26:022:26:05

Good play from Green.

2:26:072:26:09

He's got support here from O'Loughlin.

2:26:092:26:11

Everything Wigan are doing

2:26:112:26:13

is coming through their captain.

2:26:132:26:15

What a pass! And what a try for Dan Sarginson.

2:26:152:26:19

Wigan hit the front again.

2:26:192:26:21

WHISTLE BLOWS

2:26:212:26:23

Well, they say that the big names

2:26:252:26:28

turn up for the big games.

2:26:282:26:30

Wigan captain Sean O'Loughlin...

2:26:322:26:35

is doing just that.

2:26:352:26:37

On the last.

2:26:422:26:43

Blake Green with a little kick towards the sidelines.

2:26:442:26:47

Burgess, was that forward?

2:26:472:26:49

St Helens say it was.

2:26:492:26:50

The referee Richard Silverwood says it isn't.

2:26:502:26:53

It came off a St Helens hand.

2:26:532:26:55

And Farrell, Liam Farrell with a crucial score for Wigan.

2:26:552:26:59

Richard Silverwood said, "It came off your own player."

2:27:032:27:06

It touched a St Helens hand.

2:27:062:27:08

He still had a lot to do,

2:27:082:27:10

and Liam Farrell....

2:27:102:27:13

Big try for the Warriors.

2:27:142:27:15

Walsh. Rowans.

2:27:172:27:19

St Helens knocking on the door,

2:27:212:27:23

they have to be the team that scores next.

2:27:232:27:25

Walsh! Walsh and Makinson!

2:27:252:27:28

It's 11 tries in 7 games now.

2:27:282:27:31

Tommy Makinson scores spectacular tries.

2:27:322:27:35

They won't come any easier than that for the Saints' number two.

2:27:362:27:40

The Saints building a head of steam here. Hohaia.

2:27:422:27:45

Lovely short pass, and Jordan Turner is over.

2:27:462:27:49

They are right back in it now.

2:27:502:27:53

What a derby this is turning out to be.

2:27:532:27:56

Lovely little pass.

2:27:562:27:58

And Turner had the strength.

2:27:582:28:00

on the stroke of half-time...

2:28:032:28:06

Saints are back in this.

2:28:062:28:08

Moved across.

2:28:082:28:10

-Moved across pulling back.

-They've conceded a penalty.

2:28:102:28:13

The last act of the half. It was Wilkin who was penalised

2:28:132:28:16

for pulling back Matty Smith.

2:28:162:28:17

No mistake.

2:28:222:28:24

And Wigan restore their six-point advantage.

2:28:242:28:28

20-14 they lead, a pulsating first half.

2:28:282:28:31

It really has been a brilliant game.

2:28:362:28:39

Here come Wigan again on the far side, Burgess with a kick forward.

2:28:402:28:43

Farrell... Oh, it's bounced back into Farrell's arms!

2:28:432:28:47

It's all going Wigan's way.

2:28:472:28:49

And at the start of the second half, Liam Farrell with his second try.

2:28:492:28:53

And Wigan take control once again.

2:28:552:28:57

Well, Lady Luck's smiling on Wigan...

2:29:002:29:05

in the sunshine at Langtree Park.

2:29:062:29:08

There's no doubt Wigan have been targeting

2:29:132:29:15

Saints' right-side defence.

2:29:152:29:17

They're doing it again with Goulding! Burgess is away!

2:29:172:29:21

Burgess will score, and that's surely it now.

2:29:212:29:25

Wigan cruising against their bitter rivals.

2:29:252:29:29

It was Jordan Turner who missed the tackle

2:29:332:29:36

and young Joe Burgess,

2:29:362:29:38

what a revelation he's been in 2014.

2:29:382:29:41

And Matty Smith rubs salt in the Saints' wounds

2:29:442:29:49

against his home-town club.

2:29:492:29:52

And Saints' 100% record

2:29:522:29:55

is shattered by their big rivals.

2:29:552:29:58

Shaun Wane was particularly happy to be the coach, wasn't he,

2:30:002:30:03

that shattered that 100% record?

2:30:032:30:05

Wigan showing yet again they are the team for the big game, aren't they?

2:30:052:30:09

Of course, he would be really excited about that one

2:30:092:30:13

because it is the big game for them.

2:30:132:30:15

For me, Saints have just had a few cracks

2:30:152:30:18

in their defensive armour, especially.

2:30:182:30:20

You could see it was going to happen at some point.

2:30:202:30:23

Against Wigan it was always going to happen.

2:30:232:30:25

I think Wigan played fantastically and Saints went toe to toe

2:30:252:30:28

for a while but couldn't handle them in the end.

2:30:282:30:31

Both coaches picked out Sean O'Loughlin and how special he was.

2:30:312:30:35

What is it that makes him such a good player?

2:30:352:30:37

I picked him out as well.

2:30:372:30:39

I commentated on that game and he is very special

2:30:392:30:41

and has been for a while. He is strong.

2:30:412:30:43

Whatever you want a rugby player to be, he can do.

2:30:432:30:46

He can ball play, he can whack you if you run at him,

2:30:462:30:49

he can do the tough stuff when you need to roll your sleeves up.

2:30:492:30:52

Sean O'Loughlin shows up

2:30:522:30:53

and he really is a good leader by his performances.

2:30:532:30:56

What can he do? Pretty much anything sometimes.

2:30:562:30:59

It is interesting. He's not a flashy player,

2:30:592:31:01

he just seems to be the key player for the team.

2:31:012:31:04

He reminds me of Farrell of old, to be honest.

2:31:042:31:06

He is that sort of influential player that you need in your team to

2:31:062:31:10

especially win the big games, he has all the skills

2:31:102:31:13

and the fitness levels.

2:31:132:31:15

You know when he's not playing that they are not going to be

2:31:152:31:17

quite at their best.

2:31:172:31:19

When they are in the team they are very dangerous.

2:31:192:31:22

Wigan had a slightly up and down beginning to the season

2:31:222:31:25

but five wins in a row, how good do you think they're looking now?

2:31:252:31:28

Their machine is rolling again and that is a compliment.

2:31:282:31:31

They have very good structures and people know their roles,

2:31:312:31:34

and know how they play and what to do.

2:31:342:31:36

So once people are finding their form,

2:31:362:31:39

they have had a strange start to the season.

2:31:392:31:41

As champions they had to go down under for the World Club Challenge

2:31:412:31:44

which is disruptive, what anybody says.

2:31:442:31:46

But they were always very confident once they got into their rhythm.

2:31:462:31:50

With the spine of their team back,

2:31:502:31:52

when you look at McIlorum, Blake, Smith

2:31:522:31:54

and O'Loughlin and the full-back, Matty Bowen

2:31:542:31:56

getting used to the systems at Wigan, they're pretty potent.

2:31:562:32:00

You talked about cracks in St Helens

2:32:002:32:03

and maybe do you feel that defeat was coming

2:32:032:32:05

because they have run it pretty close, haven't they, in recent weeks?

2:32:052:32:08

Yeah, I think Nathan Brown alluded to it and

2:32:082:32:11

a few of the players probably not playing up to full potential.

2:32:112:32:13

There were a few injuries as well.

2:32:132:32:15

Kyle Amor, who was injured against ourselves,

2:32:152:32:17

and he's a massive player for them. He is probably their best forward.

2:32:172:32:20

The likes of him and other players around him

2:32:202:32:24

really need to do the hard yards and unfortunately he wasn't playing

2:32:242:32:27

and there was no-one really who stepped up to the plate.

2:32:272:32:30

So that is Thursday and Friday taken care of.

2:32:302:32:32

Let's find out what happened on Easter Monday.

2:32:322:32:35

Saints have been stung

2:32:392:32:40

but could Widnes make it back-to-back defeats for the leaders?

2:32:402:32:44

Waiting in the wings, the Rhinos are shooting for the top.

2:32:472:32:50

They are at home to Salford.

2:32:502:32:52

And the best of the rest.

2:32:552:32:57

The highlights of round 10 as the Easter weekend draws to a close.

2:32:572:33:01

Castleford and Warrington enjoyed big derby wins on Friday

2:33:092:33:12

and they met at the Jungle on Monday afternoon.

2:33:122:33:15

Slightly surprisingly,

2:33:152:33:16

there only really looked like one winner in this one, didn't there?

2:33:162:33:19

This is some place to go.

2:33:192:33:20

You have got to bring your A game to try and beat...

2:33:202:33:22

James Clare finishing in the corner there.

2:33:222:33:24

They are on fire here, are Castleford.

2:33:242:33:26

They have been all season, I have watched a number of games

2:33:262:33:29

and it is Michael Monaghan with the charge down here on the sneak kick.

2:33:292:33:34

It gives them parity early in the game.

2:33:342:33:35

From here on in, it is Castleford, Castleford, Castleford.

2:33:352:33:39

Nice small kicks and Shenton finishing.

2:33:392:33:41

He is playing really well, Michael Shenton, at the moment.

2:33:412:33:43

I think Daryl Powell has mentioned the fact that this

2:33:432:33:46

is as good as he has ever seen him play.

2:33:462:33:48

Again they are just probing at the line all the time.

2:33:482:33:52

Great skills and here he is again, finishing off another play.

2:33:522:33:55

So it was all one-way traffic, right from the score of Michael Monaghan.

2:33:552:33:59

Second half, I think they scored, was it 21 unanswered points?

2:33:592:34:02

It just goes to show that... James Clare again finishing in the corner.

2:34:032:34:07

The kind of tries they're scoring always have a lot of ball

2:34:072:34:10

movement as well.

2:34:102:34:12

The atmosphere here is quite intimidating

2:34:122:34:14

and it raises the Castleford players. Again, Hauraki

2:34:142:34:18

getting himself free and finishing the play there.

2:34:182:34:22

What about Warrington? That is a big defeat.

2:34:222:34:26

It is.

2:34:262:34:27

That element of consistency, I suppose,

2:34:272:34:29

is not quite there yet for Warrington.

2:34:292:34:31

We saw them a couple of days ago with a great

2:34:312:34:34

win over a tough Widnes team.

2:34:342:34:37

Again we see Castleford fire at the line.

2:34:372:34:39

Great pass from Shenton, flies onto the ball. 40 points to 6.

2:34:392:34:44

It is just not the kind of consistency, I suppose,

2:34:442:34:46

but everybody will be sharpening their claws for the second

2:34:462:34:49

half of the season, trying to get that kind of consistency.

2:34:492:34:53

Make no mistake, Castleford at home, particularly,

2:34:532:34:56

they have only lost two games anyway the whole of the season.

2:34:562:34:59

But Castleford at home is a tough ask of anybody.

2:34:592:35:02

Two more games from Monday now.

2:35:022:35:04

Let's find out how St Helens reacted to their first defeat of the season.

2:35:042:35:07

They made the short bank holiday journey to Widnes.

2:35:072:35:11

Widnes and St Helens were two sides seeking to atone for bad

2:35:122:35:15

days on Good Friday.

2:35:152:35:17

It was the home side who struck first when Rhys Hanbury raced through

2:35:172:35:20

in support of the break.

2:35:202:35:23

The Vikings were showing no ill effects of their heavy

2:35:232:35:25

defeat to the Wolves, and after much probing they got further reward as

2:35:252:35:29

Cameron Phelps released Samoan Willie Isa to round off a spectacular score.

2:35:292:35:34

However, that try seemed to spark Saints into life,

2:35:342:35:37

and with 24 minutes of the game gone, they finally responded when

2:35:372:35:40

Sia Soliola touched down.

2:35:402:35:43

After Vikings prop Alex Gerrard and front row Saint Mose Masoe

2:35:432:35:48

traded tries, Nathan Brown's visitors reduced the arrears to just

2:35:482:35:51

two points as Paul Wellens landed this converted try with

2:35:512:35:55

half-time looming.

2:35:552:35:56

But the Vikings hit back with force after the break

2:35:562:35:59

and soon after Kevin Brown had laid on the past for Hanbury's

2:35:592:36:02

second try of the game,

2:36:022:36:04

the home side were able to establish a 12-point lead with

2:36:042:36:07

the move of the match, taking in Danny Tickle and Chris Dean,

2:36:072:36:10

leaving the gloss to be added by Paddy Flynn.

2:36:102:36:13

Just past the three-quarter point of the match,

2:36:182:36:20

St Helens provided hope of a comeback when Tommy Makinson

2:36:202:36:23

squeezed in at the corner for one of his trademark tries.

2:36:232:36:27

The gap had now been reduced down to eight.

2:36:272:36:29

But a converted Chris Dean try five minutes later increased

2:36:292:36:33

the margins once again.

2:36:332:36:34

And despite another reply from Lance Hohaia, Macgraff Leuluai

2:36:352:36:39

was able to seal the Vikings' first-ever home

2:36:392:36:42

win over Saints in the Super League era.

2:36:422:36:44

The Catalan Dragons stretched their unbeaten run to four in league

2:36:482:36:51

and cup with this points feast in France.

2:36:512:36:53

They opened the scoring in the fourth minute as Leon Pryce

2:36:532:36:56

and Zeb Taia combined to release Morgan Escare, who set

2:36:562:36:59

the tone for this one with a 50m dash.

2:36:592:37:02

Involved in the first try,

2:37:022:37:04

Leon Pryce would be instrumental in the second nine minutes later.

2:37:042:37:07

His effort, aided by some fortune,

2:37:072:37:10

presented an opportunity for Elliott Whitehead to score.

2:37:102:37:13

Further Dragons damage was done when Michael Oldfield landed a third try.

2:37:152:37:19

But the Robbins would hit back with vigour and their awesome response

2:37:192:37:22

started when Travis Burns probed and Greg Eden prodded his way through.

2:37:222:37:27

Better would soon follow for the resurgent Robins,

2:37:272:37:29

as Jordan Cox added a converted try, and against all of the odds,

2:37:292:37:33

Hull KR would lead at half-time, with Omari Caro's

2:37:332:37:36

six pointer.

2:37:362:37:37

The two sides traded tries shortly after the break. After Taia's

2:37:392:37:43

robust work up the middle, Escare sent Daryl Millard

2:37:432:37:46

in at the corner.

2:37:462:37:47

The Robins hit back with Caro's second try,

2:37:512:37:53

meaning their two-point lead was restored.

2:37:532:37:56

Still with over half an hour left to play.

2:37:562:37:58

But the Dragons then added definitive breathing space,

2:37:582:38:01

Leon Pryce set up a second try for Oldfield before Elliott Whitehead

2:38:012:38:05

and the boot of Thomas Bosc sealed the win.

2:38:052:38:09

Is that one of those ones where every other team went,

2:38:142:38:16

"Phew, thank goodness we didn't have to go to the South of France"?

2:38:162:38:19

Without a doubt.

2:38:192:38:20

It is one of the toughest places to go, if not the toughest.

2:38:202:38:23

You always know that it is going to be a tough ask to play against

2:38:232:38:26

Catalans at home because they seem to just play a lot better there.

2:38:262:38:31

It is a hostile atmosphere and having to go home, it'll be a day after

2:38:312:38:36

playing a game, it is not something I would look forward to.

2:38:362:38:39

Interesting Laurent Frayssinous

2:38:392:38:41

talking afterwards about the pride in his players

2:38:412:38:43

and the performance they put up,

2:38:432:38:44

such a different story to the beginning of the season from them.

2:38:442:38:47

They look a different side, don't they?

2:38:472:38:49

They have dug their way out.

2:38:492:38:51

I saw a couple of games that they just got over the line,

2:38:512:38:53

and they have rolled their sleeves up

2:38:532:38:55

and had to do some really tenacious tackling

2:38:552:38:57

and some simple things, un-Catalan type things,

2:38:572:38:59

to get themselves back on the winning roster.

2:38:592:39:02

Now they are, you can see their confidence flooding back

2:39:022:39:05

and they are moving the ball about, more like the old Catalan.

2:39:052:39:08

Big win for Widnes.

2:39:082:39:10

Yes, St Helens had quite a few players out but a great win,

2:39:102:39:13

particularly given the defeat they had had.

2:39:132:39:15

You still have to put in a massive performance against any

2:39:152:39:18

St Helens team and this is no different.

2:39:182:39:20

Widnes, though, seem to play a lot better at home for some reason.

2:39:202:39:24

They showed it yet again with some great skills,

2:39:242:39:27

some fantastic tries and they deserved the result that they got.

2:39:272:39:30

Saints not quite at the races.

2:39:302:39:32

A few injuries and some young lads coming in,

2:39:322:39:34

but from looking at what the St Helens players are saying, some

2:39:342:39:37

young lads played reasonably well and that as well so that is good to see.

2:39:372:39:40

Defeat for St Helens meant that we would have new Super League

2:39:402:39:44

leaders if Leeds could beat Salford at Headingley.

2:39:442:39:47

Dave Woods was watching.

2:39:472:39:48

Five minutes played and a decent position that Leeds find

2:39:492:39:52

themselves in. Sinfield.

2:39:522:39:54

Achurch has made a half-break and Sinfield in support

2:39:542:39:59

to finish the first score. And Leeds are up and running.

2:39:592:40:02

Tomkins.

2:40:032:40:04

A little hand behind his back but it is Tommy Lee who will try

2:40:042:40:08

and bundle his way through.

2:40:082:40:10

They have shown good character here so far, Salford,

2:40:102:40:13

and Tomkins is off in search of a try and I think he has got it.

2:40:132:40:18

The referee is going to give that, it is just deserts for Salford.

2:40:182:40:22

Howarth. Rangi Chase is going to have a kick here.

2:40:232:40:27

It is well taken by the winger.

2:40:292:40:31

He has a couple of defenders up there as well.

2:40:312:40:34

Briscoe with a terrific break.

2:40:342:40:36

Here's Ben Jones-Bishop, who has found a way through.

2:40:362:40:40

Has support as well from Hardaker should he need it.

2:40:402:40:43

Ben Jones-Bishop is caught, but here comes Hardaker.

2:40:432:40:46

The bounce goes backwards and Leeds stretch their lead.

2:40:472:40:52

Burrow.

2:40:532:40:55

Ben Jones-Bishop, that is lovely footwork

2:40:552:40:57

and here is Joel Moon who has Rob Burrow waiting on the inside,

2:40:572:41:01

and finally, with over an hour played, there is

2:41:012:41:05

daylight between Leeds and Salford.

2:41:052:41:07

Burrow the scorer.

2:41:092:41:10

Chase trying to make something happen here today, with a little chip

2:41:132:41:18

and chase, but it is Hardaker who collects and he immediately

2:41:182:41:21

responds by turning this in to a very dangerous situation.

2:41:212:41:26

Leeds with the break.

2:41:262:41:27

Hardaker, support this time from Ben Jones-Bishop.

2:41:272:41:31

And it is a simple saunter underneath the posts.

2:41:322:41:35

Sinfield. Leeds turning the screw now. Adding all the pressure.

2:41:392:41:43

Ryan Hall, inevitable, scores in the corner. Simply bullied his way over.

2:41:432:41:49

Tomkins. Tommy Lee with another search here.

2:41:512:41:55

They have not lost any of their fighting character here,

2:41:552:41:58

Salford, they are still giving it some.

2:41:582:42:00

But it is going to come down for Briscoe, and Briscoe is away.

2:42:002:42:03

Nobody is going to catch the flyer on the wing.

2:42:052:42:08

And Tom Briscoe caps off an impressive Leeds performance.

2:42:082:42:12

I know you were at this game.

2:42:142:42:16

Quite a harsh score line in the end on Salford.

2:42:162:42:18

-They played better than that.

-I think so.

2:42:182:42:20

At half-time it was 6-4, the scoreline,

2:42:202:42:22

probably a fair reflection and they were unlucky not to go in ahead.

2:42:222:42:25

A couple of the bounces of the ball

2:42:252:42:27

and we have seen there the exciting Leeds backfield.

2:42:272:42:29

If you give them any space on the back of your kicks, I think

2:42:292:42:32

we saw three or four tries from that.

2:42:322:42:34

Hardaker, Jones-Bishop, Briscoe.

2:42:342:42:37

Watch out if you give them a free run at you.

2:42:372:42:40

They are going to have to regroup, aren't they, Salford?

2:42:402:42:42

A massive game for them against Widnes in the Challenge Cup.

2:42:422:42:45

Yeah, they will do.

2:42:452:42:47

I think they need to do it pretty quickly as well, it is

2:42:472:42:50

a good opportunity for them to do it this week

2:42:502:42:52

because with all the changes that have been going on...

2:42:522:42:56

SHE LAUGHS

2:42:562:42:58

It makes it very difficult.

2:42:582:43:00

I know, playing against them very recently,

2:43:002:43:02

they probably weren't at the best they could have been

2:43:022:43:05

and to change things even within the game,

2:43:052:43:07

so they need to sort themselves out a little bit but give themselves

2:43:072:43:10

the best opportunity, they have got the players.

2:43:102:43:12

Well, there was a big win on Easter Monday for Wigan.

2:43:122:43:15

The Warriors made seven changes from the team that beat St Helens

2:43:152:43:18

but they were far, far too strong for a young

2:43:182:43:21

and injury-hit Bradford side?

2:43:212:43:23

Yeah, these changes that they made were two exciting players.

2:43:232:43:27

Here's captain fantastic, Sean O'Loughlin, chasing the kick.

2:43:272:43:31

Again showing those little things that he does particularly well.

2:43:312:43:34

Ryan Hampshire here finishes off this particular...

2:43:342:43:37

Great play from the Warriors. They look very strong, they look sharp.

2:43:372:43:40

They came strong

2:43:402:43:42

and three exciting young players in Hampshire, Powell and Williams

2:43:422:43:47

that are playing for them at the moment with these changes.

2:43:472:43:50

They are just moving the ball fantastically well.

2:43:502:43:53

Powell with the try here. So the youngsters coming to the fore.

2:43:532:43:58

John Bateman has been great for them, hasn't he, so far this season?

2:43:582:44:01

He has been terrific, he has got better and better.

2:44:012:44:03

I watched him early in the season for Wigan at Castleford,

2:44:032:44:05

he wasn't quite as good, but his last few games have been

2:44:052:44:07

probably what Shaun would expect him to be.

2:44:072:44:10

Once they get into your back field they are just too strong.

2:44:102:44:14

George Williams there finishing off a play.

2:44:142:44:18

How tough is this for Bradford?

2:44:182:44:19

Well, it was tough, and people will be looking at the scoreline

2:44:192:44:23

and thinking, "Oh, my goodness." But these things can happen.

2:44:232:44:26

Certainly at Easter, he made a lot of changes.

2:44:262:44:28

Time is running out for them in respect of what

2:44:282:44:31

they have to do and when they have to do it.

2:44:312:44:33

I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water,

2:44:332:44:35

I would throw that particular one in the bin, this game,

2:44:352:44:38

and get on with the job at hand that they have got.

2:44:382:44:41

Another one-sided game over at Hull with London.

2:44:412:44:44

Yeah, Hull very impressive, though.

2:44:442:44:46

What has impressed me so far this season is a couple of standout

2:44:462:44:50

players for Hull in Jamie Shaul and Jordan Rankin.

2:44:502:44:53

I think they have been two of the better players within the team

2:44:532:44:56

and two massive highlights.

2:44:562:44:57

But the old fella in the middle, Gaz Ellis, great footwork,

2:44:572:45:00

off-load and back on the inside.

2:45:002:45:01

It is Rankin that has a massive turn of pace,

2:45:012:45:04

he absolutely skinned me in the game at their place.

2:45:042:45:07

I couldn't believe how quick he was and I was determined to get him

2:45:072:45:10

but could get nowhere near him.

2:45:102:45:12

And also Jacob Miller, who was a bit of a strange signing.

2:45:122:45:16

And he didn't get off to the best of starts, in and out of the team,

2:45:162:45:21

but he has got back into the side and is doing really well

2:45:212:45:24

and scoring another try there.

2:45:242:45:26

And then back again with Jamie Shaul, a great off-load,

2:45:262:45:29

back on the inside.

2:45:292:45:31

Westerman there, slight footwork, off-load again,

2:45:312:45:35

breaking tackles and he just pushes in support with a great kick

2:45:352:45:38

and he is just wanting that bounce.

2:45:382:45:40

It just sits up for him, fantastic try.

2:45:402:45:42

And then to finish it off in fine style, it's Jordan Rankin yet again.

2:45:422:45:48

So these two players have just been fantastic for me for Hull.

2:45:482:45:50

I think you rounded that one up very well.

2:45:502:45:53

I don't even need to ask any questions!

2:45:532:45:56

Finally, let's see how Huddersfield

2:45:562:45:58

and Eorl here got on against Wakefield.

2:45:582:46:00

Remember the Giants were looking to complete a perfect Easter.

2:46:002:46:03

Andy Giddings saw this one.

2:46:032:46:05

Grix moves in at dummy half.

2:46:062:46:09

Now Brough sending the high kick into the air.

2:46:092:46:12

The Giants pile forward.

2:46:122:46:14

Lawrence has latched onto the ball. The kick out wide, unconventional.

2:46:142:46:19

They must score, they have scored. And Jodie Broughton touches down.

2:46:192:46:24

The Wildcats looking to respond here with Siejka instrumental.

2:46:262:46:31

Siejka again, teasing the Giants' line.

2:46:312:46:34

It is pulled back here

2:46:342:46:35

and Jarrod Sammut is on hand for the Wildcats' first score.

2:46:352:46:39

Lunt, what can he do from here?

2:46:402:46:42

He can bring in Lawrence, who will score!

2:46:422:46:45

Riley. Oh, the ball has gone to ground.

2:46:472:46:49

Sammut picks the ball up here, he has gone for a show and go.

2:46:492:46:51

He won't get there, Walshaw might.

2:46:512:46:54

A decision here for the match officials.

2:46:552:46:57

Robert Hicks goes to consult with his touch judge.

2:46:592:47:02

Will this be a Wildcats score? Yes, it will.

2:47:022:47:06

Godinet now, looking for runners.

2:47:082:47:11

There are plenty of them here.

2:47:112:47:13

But the ball has been spilled, picked up by Wardle

2:47:132:47:15

and the Giants can walk this one in. And Ukuma Ta'ai

2:47:152:47:20

will touch down and there is breathing space.

2:47:202:47:23

Godinet again. Sykes. And an interception.

2:47:252:47:31

And the Giants might be away again.

2:47:312:47:33

And it is Leroy Cudjoe, just before half-time and the gap is widening.

2:47:332:47:38

Lunt, more Giants pressure here. To Brough. On to Chan.

2:47:422:47:45

Raw power takes Jason Chan over the line.

2:47:462:47:49

McShane whipping the ball onto Sammut,

2:47:512:47:54

who has support from Molloy who will roll over.

2:47:542:47:58

Lunt here, drops his shoulder, off he goes.

2:48:002:48:03

Will get the ball down and the Giants get their first home

2:48:032:48:07

win of the season.

2:48:072:48:08

A fabulous quote from Paul Anderson afterwards.

2:48:112:48:13

"The positive is it is over, it was a boring game, wasn't it?"

2:48:132:48:16

But I am sure you're delighted to get the win.

2:48:162:48:18

Yeah, it was a strange one to be in the changing rooms after.

2:48:182:48:21

Paul Anderson obviously full of praise for how we played!

2:48:212:48:25

We knew that it wasn't our best performance

2:48:252:48:28

and it was very tough going into that game.

2:48:282:48:30

I felt pretty fresh myself going into it

2:48:302:48:32

and after about five minutes my legs felt like jelly.

2:48:322:48:35

So we knew that we had been in a tough game,

2:48:352:48:38

especially against Wakefield who were searching for another win.

2:48:382:48:42

We made it hard for ourselves at times but we came through

2:48:422:48:45

the other side and are happy to get four points over Easter.

2:48:452:48:48

Absolutely, to get back-to-back wins given the run you have

2:48:482:48:50

had must be a huge relief?

2:48:502:48:52

Yeah, we're just wanting to grow in confidence

2:48:522:48:54

a little bit and gain a little bit of momentum.

2:48:542:48:56

We have started to do that. We know that we need to improve.

2:48:562:48:58

Our first game against Salford,

2:48:582:49:00

a lot better than what we played today.

2:49:002:49:02

Finally got it out the way.

2:49:022:49:03

So a good Easter for Huddersfield.

2:49:032:49:05

Let's see where their two wins leave them

2:49:052:49:07

and everybody else in the First Utility Super League table.

2:49:072:49:11

Leeds take over at the top, with Castleford moving up to second.

2:49:132:49:16

The Tigers are level on points with St Helens.

2:49:162:49:18

Wigan and Widnes have a game in hand,

Bradford remain two points adrift at the bottom.

2:49:202:49:23

And after everybody has got their breath back, it is

2:49:242:49:27

back to the Challenge Cup this weekend.

2:49:272:49:29

Leeds against St Helens is live on BBC One from

2:49:292:49:32

two o'clock on Saturday,

2:49:322:49:33

and the Super League Show will be here next Monday

2:49:332:49:35

at 11.55, with highlights from all eight of the fifth round matches.

2:49:352:49:40

We are all going to be at Leeds versus Saints.

2:49:412:49:44

What is going to be the key for the team that wins that?

2:49:442:49:47

I think personally it is whoever controls the ball,

2:49:472:49:49

and we know they have got two really good teams,

2:49:492:49:51

especially Leeds the way they are playing at the moment.

2:49:512:49:54

Their performances have been fantastic.

2:49:542:49:55

Saints not quite at the races, as we have said before,

2:49:552:49:58

-but it all goes out the window at the weekend.

-Can you pick a winner?

2:49:582:50:02

I slightly disagree with the big man here.

2:50:022:50:05

I think it is the team that uses the ball the best.

2:50:052:50:07

I think percentages will go out the window

2:50:072:50:09

and who takes their opportunities the most

2:50:092:50:11

and probably kicks the better will be the winners.

2:50:112:50:15

Leeds at home will be difficult to dislodge

2:50:152:50:17

but I think Saints after a couple of losses...

2:50:172:50:20

Just looking at one other game, Salford-Widnes.

2:50:202:50:23

-How big a game is it for Salford?

-Huge.

2:50:232:50:25

Chance of a good Challenge Cup run and Widnes at home which

2:50:252:50:29

are certainly no gimmes because they have had a terrific win today.

2:50:292:50:33

And I think they will be fired up

2:50:342:50:36

but I think Salford have the arsenal.

2:50:362:50:37

It promises to be a great weekend. That is it for this week.

2:50:372:50:41

My thanks to Brian and particularly Eorl, given he has played today.

2:50:412:50:43

We will see you at 11.55 next week with the Challenge Cup highlights.

2:50:432:50:47

Until then, goodbye.
