Friday night FA Cup football has

produced some crackers. Hyde United

are the latest minnow trying to

topple league opposition. MK Dons

are here trying to avoid an

embarrassing night. Welcome to Ewen

Fields, the home of Hyde United. A

few miles outside Manchester and we

have a former blue in Trevor

Sinclair and a former red in Paul

Ince. Trevor you love to make a case

for an upset and MK Dons are

struggling and this place is

bouncing.

Yes the atmosphere is

right. Under the lights, FA Cup,

always a great thing to watch and be

involved with. Looking at the

players, they will be struggling for

confidence, losing so many games.

But I think Hyde United will fancy

it on this surface no, water, no

irrigation, it is try and they will

make it physical.

You mentioned the

surface. It is a plastic pitch here.

It hasn't been watered, because the

sprinklers didn't work for a long

time. The first thing you did, Paul,

you feel the bounce and want to s

how the ball reacts.

And Milton

Keynes won't have played on this. So

Hyde will have an advantage. It is

something if I was Robbie Neilson, I

would say, don't let the pitch be an

excuse. Let our quality shine.

Dons 16th in League One and you have

to travel down five more tiers past

the National League into the

Northern Premier League, Northern

division, where you find Hyde. Fifth

at beating Goole 4-1 the last time

out. You see in there, it is a lot

to overop.

Yes, but I have worked

with players at this standard. They

work 9 to 5 and go training in the

evening. It is not for the money,

because it because they love

football. They're fit and prepared

and confident and this is a big

opportunity for a lot of the players

to put themselves in the shop window

and see if they can handle it.

The

whole town's there. They're used to

having 300 or 400 and the atmosphere

will be electrifying. Hopefully it

will be a good game.

I'm going to go

on a wander, you mentioned the crowd

here. When they played and beat

Goole away at the weekend, they were

watched by 188 people. As Paul said,

somewhere over 300 here tonight. The

-- over 3,000 tonight. Here is the

boss of Hyde United. Talking about

the size of the crowd, it does feel,

I know it is meant to be a normal

game, but it #2350e8s a bit special

-- feels a bit special.

It is huge.

We get games of 300, now it is

3,000. Hopefully everyone will enjoy

it on the pitch and off the pitch.

and you're keen for the club to be

run as professionally as it can and

these occasions give you an

opportunity to try that.

Yes there

is a long way to go. We have a

fantastic infrastructure and the

stuff we do with the first team, the

analysis and that is important and

it is port that we do that. 18

months ago we were on the back of

three relegation. We have turned

that around and we have a great

night ahead and after tonight we

kick on from that.

We have had a

flare on the pitch down the far end.

The

players are ready, but things can

harm the pitch, because it is a 4G

pitch. We don't want disruptions

like that. The players are focussed

I think the occasion looks

get out to warm out. The 3,000

supporters will help. We know

they're a fantastic side, they're

five leagues above us and no one

expects us to do anything. It is

and if we show the effort and get a

bit of luck, I think we will get the

fantastic. There is no issues with

lot -- your approach a lot?

There is

a couple of players we felt didn't

feel right to play on it. It is a

great night, great crowd, great

surface.

Is this a big night for

your club, young team, your form's

not been great, is this a pivotal

fixture?

I think the FA Cup is a

great one for everyone. As a

Scotsman we look forward to the

Scottish Cup, but we see the FA Cup

and the players are looking forward

to putting a run together.

Is that

is game that is won as much by

technical ability as by mental

attitude do you think?

I think we

have to match the work rate. It is a

huge game for Hyde. It is their

final. So it will be tough and a

very intense first 30 minutes. With

ever to stand up to the game and

match them and hopefully our quality

will come through.

make a difference. It has burnt a

The good news is we are

hearing that the referee says its

years ago we were at Warrington and

Yes we were watching the

Hyde dressing room and the players

were laying back, relaxed. You have

to be like that. Treat it like any

other game. But it is a great

competition and links the bottom of

the game to the top of our game and

the dreams and tonight there could

be an upset. It is difficult

conditions. Great crowd. A lot of

noise and a difficult surface.

It is

also a big occasion for a very young

MK Dons team, the likes of Callum

Brittain and they can come in front

of a TV audience and they have a

point to prove?

Yes, they have been

struggling in the league and haven't

won for two months. It is a chance

to come in and show what they can

do. It is a fantastic chance for

them, a great occasion and on their

day you expect them to win, but it

will be tough.

Here is an

under-Under-20 international. Iechl

time to proift. We have seen players

come from MK Dons. Dele Alli is

making highlights for himself. But

they have got to get out, deal with

them physically and match the work

rate and if they do that right, they

can let their football do the

talking. But they have to match them

first or else they won't get through

One of the stats you will have heard

a lot over the last few weeks is

Hyde as they were, not Hyde United,

a different club, but in 1887, they

are famous for having the largest

margin of defeat, 26-0 to Preston. A

long time ago. But they're fiercely

a community club. There is some of

the Academy cabins where the players

do two hours training and three

hours, 80 youngsters and Steph Todd

is one of teachers and the physio.

As well as that, it must be a proud

night, because is in club are moving

in the right direction.

We spend a lot of the time at the

club, we have 70-plus students and

we teach and they have lessons and

they train two hours a day. They see

the first team arrive as well. That

what is they aspire to.

We can see

you in the classroom as well. As

well, some of the lads who are here

learning their trade and learning

skills at the same time, they will

be here soaking this up tonight.

I

think most of them are here. A lot

tried to get in for free. But it is

a massive occasion. All week they

have been so excited to see this. It

has been very busy with the

volunteers and everyone getting

here.

treat and some at half-time and

don't know how he manages. The

amount of running he does after he

has been working nights is

unbelievable. He is top of the

charts in the stats and he has been

working all night and he is still

coming to play. Imagine if he hadn't

been working all night!

first started watching games when I

was a kishgsd I kid, I was more

interested in the crowd. They will

get some new fans, young fans and

they will think I'm coming to games

all the time.

non-league football isn't it? It is

turned around the fortunes of the

club in a little over a year and a

half, trying to put even bigger

first round weekend under way. Can

magical memories. Hyde United

looking to add their name to the

list of giant-killers. If they are

to do so, Martin, what is the key

for those part-timers?

They have to

take advantage of the pitch. We're

seeing MK Dons pass it around as if

they're the home team. It is a

difficult surface. If it were grass,

you would say you need to cut it. It

is very long. Never mind the

atmosphere.

Robbie Neilson said they trained on

a 4G surface all week down in MK

Dons.

Khamsuk, a much-talked about

teenager, he is also studying for a

degree. He does, when he is not

training, work in a Thai restaurant

as a waiter. He had to book the

night off to play in the FA Cup.

He

showed lots of composure. A little

Cruyff turn. Grabbed a free kick for

his team.

Always rely on Keown to

spot the Cruyff turn at any level!

It is fascinating to see if neck

bridge the gap between these two

teams.

been relegated for three seasons in

a row. Four years ago they were a

national league club.

Very much on the way up and they

feel some sort of result tonight

could only add to the momentum and

enthusiasm around the football club

at the moment. Unbeaten in their

last 20 league matches.

It is quite

a record, isn't it? MK Dons tonight

have to keep moving the ball quickly

- use that extra quality. Don't want

to lose it, have seen how good they

are on the break.

isolated. They win the ball back.

I think Hyde would be happy with

this, just to draw breath. The fans

are out to enjoy themselves. Most of

these will be City and United fans

mingled together. You want the local

team to win and do well.

The last

game here in the league against

Brighouse. The attendance was 377.

Almost 3,500 inside side Ewen Fields

tonight. This much-talked about

pitch is a big part of the

community, with its surface in the

second season.

Gilbey... Oh, and that is a

brilliant effort from Aidan Nesbitt

and MK Dons lead. His third goal of

the season and the 20-year-old

Scotsman with a real piece of

quality from the Football League

team to give the visitors the lead

within 14 minutes.

What a touch of quality there from

Nesbitt. Good play from MK Dons.

Very patient. No-one really getting

tight. He hits it Nesbitt so early.

Gives the keeper no chance. Puts it

back across the goal.

MK Dons since they were formed in

2004 have never lost to a non-league

club. That is a good cross. Dealt

with by Crook, the Hyde keeper.

Nesbitt again with that bit of

quality. Aneke in that pocket is the

provider, playing between the lines.

This is where Khamsuk I feel has to

join the front two to close down and

press. Once they're out, they go

back to the keeper, but it is far

too easy for MK Dons. Beadle's up

there on his own.

MK Dons have

breached the best defence in the

Northern League. They have conceded

only six goals domestically in this

campaign. That is an MK Dons free

kick.

Ebanks-Landell has been shoved

extra body in mid immediate. They

pass -- in midfield. They're very

accomplished.

That Hyde defence should

either matching the game intently or

family will enjoy that back home.

He did well to fashion a cross out

From the moment they

were formed, they have had a

reputation for youth development,

the MK Dons. They're very excited

about Callum Brittain. It is five

years ago to the week since they

gave one Dele Alli a debut in the FA

Cup. A 1-0 draw agains Cambridge.

Five years on he scored twice

against Real Madrid.

I'm sure they

pointed out Dele Alli and said, come

and play for us and you can bounce

back up the table again. We will

give you the games.

does that well. Held safely by Peter

Crook. He had a trial at Burnley.

It's gone Hyde United's way.

A good ball into that area - test

them. It has to be quality, because

they're not a typical non-league

team with a huge big man at the top

of the pitch. Beadle is more mobile

and they can link and they need to

get around him and quickly.

Away by Ebanks-Landell. They're

trying to have a period of extended

possession.

It has gone scrappy,

which suits Hyde. We saw Beadle's

mobility there. He is capable of

beating his man. He needs somebody

getting in the box with him.

Beadle got a hat-trick against

Boston town away, two qualifying

rounds again, in this FA Cup journey

that began on 19th August with a 4-2

win here against Kongleton Town.

They work extremely hard to get the

night of their lives tonight.

Nesbitt is causing problems when he

comes in on to that right foot.

Gilbey quickly closed down. The

offside flag was up.

It is difficult

in that midfield, Stockdill coming

out well and Lipka at times has been

outnumbered and then gives the ball

straightaway.

Ebanks-Landell loves those balls.

Perfect for him. A bit of heading

practise. It is why he's in the

team, to deal with that long ball.

Watching Pratt there, he's closing

down, but he's on his own. The whole

team have to come out with him.

Seager. The man from Southampton has

to go for goal.

Could have been selfish there

Seager. Could pass on his side if he

wants to find it.

Agard's making the run for him. One

thing in his mind.

is a good run for him, but he spins

and hits it. He's desperate for that

games they'll ever play in for some

of these lads.

You do it from a

platform of good tactics. All about

endeavour and determination. But I

am afraid they're letting MK Dons

come on to them too much tonight.

You play a football team in this

scenario, too much respect.

Probably

think 0-1 down. 107 places between

the two teams, but you have to go

after people and test them. I am

sure they'll change this at half

time when it comes up, the manager

won't be thinking... I'd be changing

it now. I'd want more from these

Hyde players.

disappointed for Hyde to concede the

It is a body blow,

thought they would score more. But

back into the game to. Concede that

second goal kills them.

There was a

bit of quality from MK Dons when

the defender could have been better.

Tom Pratt doesn't get back enough to

affect the ball. Gives the full-back

a problem, Harrison and he doesn't

know whether to press or stay off

the ball. In the ends he does

You have to feel sorry for

the full-back, because as Trevor

said the 7's not come in, so he has

said, do I go or not. By the time he

get there is it ties late. But it is

a fantastic goal. The pitch at the

There was a few moments of

quality from the home side.

Particularly from big Khamsuk. He

had a great chance with a free kick

and a bit of the good stuff came

from him.

Very close with the free

kick. Great technique. Getting it

over the wall and into target from

that close. But he has good feet and

in possession he has been good. He

is brave on the ball and he will run

with it and win free kicks and keep

possession. He has tricky feet.

more. They press high. It is so

I wish I had! I

remember Paul telling me about Dele

Alli when he was very young in the

Academy. We have been watching him

for years. We are so proud of his

achievements. But he's special young

man. I remember when he went to

Spurs, he went in January and any

other young boy would have thought

new krot, training ground at

Tottenham I'm off. I had done a deal

to keep him to the end of season and

Dele Alli stayed with us for that

next six months, got us promoted and

then he left. After that, I knew he

would be a big success.

The thing is

that the money from that is funding

the new players.

I think it is

important. We talk about the bigger

clubs, but at MK Dons, they produce

some top players. Not just Dele

Alli. We have seen it with George

Williams and people like that. It is

important for the club to keep

funding the players.

There is eight

players in the squad tonight and it

is not only giving them the

opportunities, but Dele Alli's given

them inspiration.

with MK Dons, we kind of got used to

seeing upsets on a Friday night. But

it has been a routine game for them.
