story dominated the week.

the Philadelphia Eagles

rise to the top seeds

in the NFL, would miss the rest

Before we come onto what it means

for the Eagles, it is heartbreaking

for him, isn't it?

No question about that, man.

This was a guy having

a phenomenal season.

People saying this guy

could be MVP of the league.

And because it happened so late he's

going to miss time next season.

Horrible.

Absolutely.

You hate to see this.

You hear Philadelphia fans saying,

like, don't get too excited,

what could go wrong,

what could go wrong?

And then this happens.

You know?

You feel really bad for him.

He argueably could have won the MVP.

And like you said, ultimately he's

going to have a long, long rehab.

And what does it do when for

the rest of the group when you know,

for most of this season,

in the back of their mind,

the Eagles players will be thinking

we could go to a Super Bowl here.

Then all of a sudden all of these

doubts will be swirling around.

Yeah, absolutely.

One thing Philadelphia

have done well is they

have built that team right.

They've built it

on their running game and

their front seven and that puts

crazy pressure on your quarterback.

So I think they have a team, and

they've built a roster that they can

actually win without a quarterback.

I think they could win.

The guy who they've got behind him,

Nick Foles, he's a pretty

decent quarterback.

They can win games.

Are they going to be able

to win the big game?

Probably not in this situation.

So, will they be able to protect

Nick Foles enough in the

same way we've seen some other teams

with their offensive line being able

to protect their quarterbacks?

Absolutely.

Like he said, they have built

offensively and they have a

really strong running game.

They are not going to ask

Nick Foles to go out

there and carry the football team,

it is going to be carried on

the strength of the defense and

the running game, he should be OK.

But what it also does,

it gives a boost to other

teams in the NFC now,

Minnesota, for example,

the Rams, for example,

who will think, now our chances

have suddenly improved.

Yeah.

They are going to try and get

after the quarterback, try and get

after him and rattle him,

but the one thing they have got

is they don't have recent film.

He hasn't been on the field.

They don't know how he has gotten

better, so the advantage

is to Nick Foles on that.

Well, for all of this season

when we've been talking about

the Jaguars, it has been

about their defense.

But, actually, Blake Bortles

is doing OK at the moment.

Yeah, and judging by Jason's

standards, Blake "The Goat"

He had an outstanding game.

All of a sudden he's the best

quarterback in the entire AFC.

If I was to paraphrase,

he might be suggesting that

Blake Bortles has gone to the top

of your list of great

mediocre quarterbacks.

I just watch the tape, Mark,

I just watch the tape.

That's it.

But do you know what?

We got on Blake, we said

he was the weakness of the team,

he figured out a way to make throws

that he needs to make.

The players around him

are playing well and he

needs to make those third-down

conversions that he's doing.

And the short passes.

He's not throwing the ball

all the way down the field.

Ultimately he has made

some good throws.

He did throw the ball

down the field.

OK, a couple more interesting noises

came out of Jacksonville after that

win, that they might be feeling

a little bit disrespected in all

of the conversations about the AFC

that everybody's focusing on.

The Patriots, and the Steelers,

and they very much believe

that the AFC is there

for the taking.

Yeah, no question.

Especially if they can

get Blake Bortles to

continue playing like this.

Because defensively we know

they are outstanding.

Outstanding front four.

They have the secondary who can

really do some things.

Running back...

They have all of the pieces

in place, besides the quarterback

position, and if he plays the way

he's capable of playing,

the way he played last week,

they are going to make a deep run

into the playoffs.

So, where are we at,

then, Bortles, Keenum,

Smith, what's your one,

two, three at the moment?

Close all the way, back and forth.

The Eagles easing

on the pitch, touchdown,

the Eagles have won the NFC East.

But at a price.

New Orleans Saints at

the Atlanta Falcons.

The NFC south, the division

of drama, the denier of the day.

Deion Jones to keep this division

dramatic to the very finish.

That might just have saved

the Falcons' season.

at the Miami Dolphins,

the Super Bowl champions with twice

as many wins as the Dolphins.

But Tom Brady coming up

against an inspired Xavien Howard.

The Baltimore Ravens

at the Pittsburgh Steelers,

the divisional Derby,

and what a derby.

The Steelers ten and two

at the start, apparently on course

for a routine victory.

But Alex Collins leading a Ravens

revival, and the away team

into the lead, only to be overhauled

by a Chris Boswell field goal.

The Steelers claiming the divisional

title with a thriller.

A game that drew a lot

of attention last week

was between the Indianapolis Colts

and the Buffalo Bills.

If you don't know your American

geography, Buffalo sits right

on the Canadian border and is prone

to the odd bit of inclement weather.

So this is what it looked

like in Buffalo for the game.

If you want a picture

of futility, then that is that.

Because they tried to do the lines

with the leaf blowers,

but the snow just kept coming

and coming and coming.

There was that touchdown with

Peterman finding Kelvin Benjamin,

that was in the second quarter.

Have you ever seen...

I mean, this looked like more snow

than I've ever seen in a game.

It looked ridiculous.

I've never seen anything like this.

This is like playing in the snow

when you were a child.

I'll tell you what,

I would like to play in this

because it would slow those

fast receivers down.

Make it easier for me, playing

against somebody who can run fast.

Look at the bend on that

kick from Vinny Thierry.

To make it 7-7,

it took the game into overtime,

which, I think, was probably

the last thing, well,

I'm not sure about the players,

it was certainly the last thing

the fans wanted.

And LeSean McCoy won the game

with that 21 yard touchdown.

But to run in the snow, I mean,

it's deep snow, as well.

Deep snow, man, that looks

like four, five inches

of snow right there.

So I don't know how he was able.

He must have had those

special cleats on.

Who knew what he was doing.

Making cuts and everything.

And actually, quite a big win

for Buffalo, really,

in the circumstances.

They won it by 13-7.

They go to seven and six.

They're second in the a AFC East.

They are still within

a playoff shout.

The interesting thing about watching

those pictures from Buffalo

is, although there was lots of snow

it wasn't as cold as, maybe,

other grounds can get to.

Is it easier to play

in the snow, or easier to play

in even colder conditions?

No, cold.

Cold.

Listen, Mark, we played

a game against Washington.

In the snow?

It wasn't in snow.

It was so cold and windy.

I got in my stance and

the wind knocked me over.

For the first time in my life

I said, "I don't want to play today!

You guys...

You guys can have this game,

I don't want to play no more ever!"

That is just about

as bad as it gets.

Although I did play in the snow,

five-a-side in Brixton, Sunday,

we went out there and we got it

in five-a-side in the snow.

I'm sure it was just

like the conditions there.

It was not quite quite, but close.

Just like a tiny flake.

That was it.

And you won presumably.

Of course.

Which is why you brought it up.

Let's look at all the

results in Week 14.

Of the games you haven't seen,

The Packers needed overtime to

beat Cleveland, but they're still

in the hunt for a playoff place and

they will get Alan Rodgers back

and there was a big win for Detroit

against Tampa Bay.

Dallas beat the New York Giants.

There was a big defeat

for the Tennessee Titans to

the Arizona Cardinals.

That means it is

advantage Jacksonville.

Let's have a look at the standings.

The Patriots lost to

the Dolphins, but they

have a three game lead.

The Steelers are dominant in the AFC

North and have won that division.

It is still very tight in the West.

But it looks like it will be

between The Chiefs and the Chargers.

The playoff has the

divisional winners here.

The wildcards at the moment

are the Titans and the Bills.

But Ravens and Chargers

have the same record as the

Bills and then it gets complicated

over who they have beaten and

difficulty of opponents.

When you look at that,

Buffalo are still in

there, but it is Baltimore that are

hovering and Baltimore you think,

because of their quality,

certainly their defense,

that there will be divisional

winners who don't want to

play Baltimore in the playoffs.

Yeah, you never want to play a team

that's dominated by great

defense in the playoffs.

And you have got a quarterback

who has experience.

Is actually playing good football.

You don't want him

to get hot in the playoffs

if you make it.

OK, let's take a look

at the standings in the NFC.

Philadelphia top of the East.

They have taken that division.

Minnesota reeled in a bit.

The Rams have a one game lead over

the Seahawks in the West.

What that means for

the playoffs, Eagles will

be the top seeds at the moment.

Panthers and The Falcons

hold the wildcards.

Who is the most dangerous

of those teams going for the

playoffs, do you think?

Who would the divisional

leaders not want out of

that big group I gave you?

Oh, that's tough.

Anybody out of NFC South.

Because if they make it, and they go

on to the playoffs, they're

battle-tested, they're coming out

of battles every week.

That is a great division,

but I must say Carolina.

Still can't call it, Mark,

you have some good teams at the top

and then you have in the middle

everybody

seems to be the same,

like everybody's just fighting

each other.

It is difficult to call who would be

the guys who would make it.

The Packers are right in the middle

having done without Aaron Rodgers

for a couple of weeks.

Will say this, if Aaron

Rodgers comes back,

that is a team nobody wants to play.

I agree, but I feel like he has been

out of football a little too long.

He has been doing it his whole life.

You're right.

That team isn't built

for greatness without him.

If they were, I would

say plug him back in

and the machine would roll,

but I'm a little worried.

OK, he has not played his team.

I didn't put my name on that.

I like some of that,

this is your influence on me.

At this stage of

the season, we can be

accused of focussing on the top

teams and the playoff contenders.

However, not any more.

Last Thursday sought

to rectify this with a game

between two teams who are playing

basically for the love of their

own mothers.

Here is the best bits

from the Denver Broncos at the

Indianapolis Colts.

He has the advantage.

It looked really good.

You guys know I have been

on a rollercoaster for about two

years and I'm just to go out there,

Thursday night football, with my

team mates, who I love

and I was just having fun.

Here are all the rest

of the week 15 fixtures.

highlights show

you to show you all these, because

there are mouth-watering ones

wherever you look.

And in fact, after we're off

air, there is a game

tonight, which is

the Chargers at the

Chiefs which is massive

in the AFC West.

And Philip Rivers, what do I say?

And his receiver, Allan is arguably

one of the best in the league.

And defensively, I love

what they're doing.

You can agree on that?

No question, Philip Rivers is having

an outstanding season.

At 36 years of age,

showing he has it all.

The entire package.

Him and his offensive

co-ordinator are on the

exact same page defensively,

those rushes coming off the edge.

This is a team nobody wants

to play against now.

Even though they have got

to go into Kansas City

for this game, you would still

favour the Chargers.

It is an advantage

playing away, because all

their home games feel

like they're playing away.

Ultimately this is helping them.

This what is makes them so scary.

Does this game decide the AFC West?

No question about it,

these are the two teams right

now who are playing the best

football, whoever wins this game

will have the momentum going

forward, if Kansas city doesn't put

a stop to the Los Angeles Chargers

now, no one in the AFC West is going

to be able to put a halt to it.

I feel like we haven't done

predictions for a while and then

given everybody the opportunity to

latch at your predictions when they

don't come true.

Chargers or Chiefs?

Chargers.

Chiefs.

Ooh!

Really?

Really.

After you just said all that?

I'm going for The Chiefs this game.

Andy Reid he just has a sneaky way

of coming up on you.

Even though The Chargers

are the better

team, this game I'm

going for The Chiefs.

Never thought I'd

live to see the day.

Let's take a look at some more

of the Week 15 fixtures.

Packers at the Panthers.

Carolina got to figure it out.

They have got to bounce

back from a good win.

Let's.

I'm going Carolina.

I will go Carolina as well.

I don't think you have

to bounce back from a win!

You know they always kind of play.

They kind of play...

They're up and down.

Up and down.

Where's that?

They need some consistency.

That means bounce back.

Panthers or Packers.

You almost talked me out

of it, but Panthers.

Yeah.

I'm going Panthers in this game.

Here are some of the others and this

is arguably the biggest

game of Week 15.

Not The Titans at the 49ers.

Patriots at the Steelers

and the relevance here is whoever

wins this should get home advantage

all the way through to the Super

Bowl, yes.

Yes and you are 100%.

If you're a betting

man, you're going

to put everything you have

on New England Patriots.

Not because they're that

much better than the

Pittsburgh Steelers,

but because they're coming off

a loss and Bill Bellichick

is going

to be furious.

He is going to have those

boys ready to play.

Tom Brady's going to be ready to go.

He didn't have a good

game against Miami.

So you have to go with

The Patriots there.

Well, there are two things there.

One again really?

Two even when they come off a win,

he gives the impression of

being furious.

But really?

You know what, Mark,

I'm starting to realise that

this is my my job and I have to go

with my head and instead of

my heart.

That is why I'm picking

these games now.

Two and a half years into doing

this show and you just

realised it's your job.

Right.

Well, it is going to

be all about defense.

Whoever's defense steps

up to the challenge

is going ultimately win.

What you saw in the Patriots defense

against Miami, which was a little

bit all over the place,

because Cutler did very

well against them.

Can you see them stopping an offense

that was as impressive as the

Steelers against The Raiders?

If the Ravens defense

couldn't stop them,

how can the Patriots?

Patriots have their biggest weapon.

They're going to try and double

team and Tony Brown take

them away.

They're not going to let them do

what he did last week.

You also have Le'Veon Bell.

You have Juju Smith

Schuster coming back.

So you can't stop them

all, so these defenses

both got to step it up.

Having Ryan Shazier out really

hurts them as a defense.

I saw the film.

They didn't look as fast.

So they're going to

have to step it up.

They're doing it for him

though aren't they?

They are.

That is a good guy.

The home field advantage

that the Steelers have?

Definitely.

That plays.

The towels will be out.

You're going for the Steelers?

I'm going for the Steelers.

And you're going for The Patriots.
