Day 3 Tonight at the Games

Hello, good evening. Wow. That is the biggest welcome so far.

Certainly is. Thank you for coming tonight and for tuning in to Tonight

at the Games. I had a message about Clyde's hair that it was looking

flat. I have to spike it up a bit. Clyde is part of the show. He's not

the only thing. Obviously, we have masses for you this evening. Regoing

to be joined by Gold Medallists from thinkathlon, judo, weightlifting and

rhythmic gymnastics. It is a packed show, which is TV code for chaotic.

We have Ian Thorpe, Victoria Pendleton and Clare's bestest of

best friend, Bert Le Clos is here tonight.

we had her father in the studio shedding tears of pride because his

daughter carried the flag for Wales at Opening Ceremony. She won two

Silver Medals before today. But today was her last ever rhythmic

gymnastics competition comfort she go out in style? -- competition,

could she could out in style? Canada's Patricia Bezzoubenko could

come away with a bag full of medals. An all round champion's performance.

Frankie Jones is growing with every second of this competition. Her

third silver. Bezzoubenko, dare we say it, is a clean sweep on the

cards? Go Laura is the message. Laura Halford, impressive

performance. Frankie Jones has gone into the lead. What a team, what a

performance. By some distance, Patricia Bezzoubenko takes her

fourth Gold Medal. Yet another Silver Medal for Frankie Jones. She

literally is going from strength to strength. Bezzoubenko, a fifth gold,

an incredible achievement already. Frankie Jones from Wales, can she

produce a golden performance? Her final performance of what has been a

truly memorable championships for her. She's living it totally. What a

competition she has had, whatever the result. 14. 5 - the lead by some

Frankie Jones. Five silvers and at the last time of asking, she has

turned silver into solid gold. She has the sparkliest sequins,

brightest eyes, the biggest smile, five silvers and one Gold Medal from

this Games alone, ladies and gentleman, Frankie Jones!

You have got them all round your neck. Yeah. You're not getting

through the scanner with those on, you know that. It might go off.

First of all, many congratulations. Thank you. Due honestly think,

right, as you went into the very last thing, this is the last time I

will ever walk out and have my name announced and I am going to win a

Gold Medal? I thought the first bit, not so much the second. I wanted to

enjoy the last one because it's the last thing I'll ever do. I could

never have imagined that would happen. It was a very nervous wait

for you, wasn't it? You thought you'd got gold. Then there was an

appeal. You had to... The Canadian appealed. Yes. When we saw the

pictures of you, you're looking anywhere, bar where the decision

would come up. I just needed it to be confirmed. Yeah, Just had to see

that. Did you have any doubt that the appeal would work? Not really. I

was quietly confident. I needed it to be in writing. I'm loving the

fact that during the interview we can hear it all clanking. It's

fantastic. Sorry. No, don't. Let them clank away. I know how proud

your dad is. He came in last night and showed me the text that you sent

him. He made me cry. Yeah. Genuinely, just I was wanting to go

to bed because I had to compete today, but I had to wait and watch

him. Then just he made me cry at end, bless Gabby Lo him. Gan

competed at the Commonwealth Games, and she is so excited that you and

Laura Halford won a bronze today as well, that Welsh gymnastics has been

so strong. It's been phenomenal. So proud and pleased and the team, so

proud of them. They're so young. It's their first ever massive

competition. They've done the best. So proud to be part of it. Did you

feel like a leader for the other girls? Yeah, definitely, I feel like

they're my little babies. I just want to look after them all the

time. So, so proud of them. Do you have to design your own costumes,

the costumes are different for everything? Yeah. And do your own

choreography and pick your music? It's a joint effort with the team

and coaches. The music can be tricky because, the rule book is very

complicated for rhythmic gymnastics. If you pick your music, aren't there

certain noises that you aren't allowed to have in songs? Like

sirens and Yeah certain stuff. Things you're not allowed to V we're

now allowed one are you teen with words in -- one routine with words

in, before it was none. I really like How old it. Are you now? 23. So

your first career has come to an end. Have you got any plans yet for

what you might do with the rest of your life? I'm going to university

in September to do a sports course. Hopefully that will be good. Then I

just want to carry on being involved with rhythmic and Wales and see how

my team-mates get on because they have such promising You might

futures. Coach them do you think? I don't think like properly, but I'll

be there and see how they do and get some young ones and support them,

like, push rhythmic in Wales, so make it more popular. Will you throw

yourself fully into university lifestyle or will you continue to be

sporty and healthy? Definitely not. I don't think I could cope. I'd die.

I tell you why, our barman over there is making a Welsh cocktail for

you tonight. Oh, my gosh. It's got gin and gran marnier in. Shall we

take the alcohol Just the out. Orange juice will do. Just the

orange juice. She's tasted one of your cocktails before, obviously. A
