Trump prepares for his first UK final. What can we expect from him

today? Long pots, big breaks, this young man is on the edge of

greatness. It is Mark Allen who runs out what you could say a

comfortable winner. Mark Allen goes through by 6-2. The man from

Northern Ireland has won the last two frames to get into the semi

final for the second year in a row. You have got to hand it to Mark

Allen and he has gone on to get himself into his first ever major

final, 9-7. There will be nerves, it is a major final and Judd's been

in two and this will be his third and this is my first. There is

added pressure of that. But once you get out there and play a frame

or two you forget about the occasion and just play the balls.

That is what we will do. Mark Allen did brilliantly well yesterday to

overcome a 5-3 deficit against rirld -- Ricky Walden. Now he is

against Judd Trump and it is Mark's first final. How will he cope? I

think he will do well. He is a brilliant match player. He is great

among the balls and he has got a good safety game. What more could

you ask for? Any professional would say playing in a UK final on Sunday

is special. You have done it. What is it like? It is fantastic. Apart

from the Crucible it is the one everyone wants to win. The

atmosphere is tremendous. What was your mind set on a final. You knew

it was about a good start? You can win the final in the first session.

If somebody gets a 6-2 lead you can take care of it. The book makers

make Judd favourite. But he has o' lost a world final. I think he is

enjoying it. Out of the two, I think he is the one that probably

expects to win. Mark Allen, it is his first final, but I think Judd

cueing have visibly changed over the years. John, what have you

on the walls of snooker clubs, you will notice them cueing with a very

straight left arm. If I play with a straight left arm, and I hit my

chest, you can see I have only just gone past the cue ball. The modern

method is to bend the left arm. This enables you to get through the

ball. I have got my elbow, fingers on the Beth, move through and go

and hit the chest. I have doubled the distance through the ball. What

does that do? It gives you plenty of action on the cue ball. If you

are playing in a club and struggling, move in a little closer,

bend that left arm, nice and smooth, through the ball. Straight through

the ball, and back down the table. You never lose it, John. He got to

the semi-finals of the World Seniors this year, didn't he? Come

on, nobody knows that! That is the situation. Some reflection on its

he played, but if you do not catch that full ball, he may be OK,

because there may be a red that passes the pink to the middle.

thought this was going to be easy, he is now aware that Mark Allen is

up for that. Some of the determination that Mark Allen

showed in this frame will stand them in good stead for what should

by any means. You can only commentate on what you have seen.

any other player won the game who would play that, but I am never

going to criticise his choice of shot, because at the end of the day,
