Wimbledon. The skies are blue and the crowds are here once again in

:00:49.:00:53.

anticipation of what promises to be another terrific day of tennis. In

:00:54.:00:58.

the ladies final tomorrow, it is between Petra Kvitova and Eugenie

:00:59.:01:05.

Bouchard. They have both come through on Saturday. Today is the

:01:06.:01:08.

turn of the men and the four who remain will go head to head on

:01:09.:01:14.

Centre Court with a place in Sunday's showpiece on their sites.

:01:15.:01:17.

Sit back and look enjoy what bronzes to be another memorable day. -- and

:01:18.:01:29.

enjoy. What promises to be another memorable day. The semifinals, a big

:01:30.:01:38.

day. There is so much at stake. Four. -- what do we have? On one

:01:39.:01:50.

side of the net, two guys who have been there, CNET and done it.

:01:51.:01:59.

Federer, seven Wimbledon titles. -- seen it and done it. 17 Grand Slam

:02:00.:02:08.

titles, 34 Grand Slam semifinals. Novak Djokovic, champion here in

:02:09.:02:16.

2011. Six Grand Slam titles. 23 Grand Slam semifinals. On the other

:02:17.:02:26.

side of the net, two guys who have never been there before. Dimitrov,

:02:27.:02:35.

the King of Queen's The slayer of Murray. His first Grand Slam

:02:36.:02:53.

semifinal. Raonic. Man mountain, aces hi. His first Grand Slam

:02:54.:02:59.

semifinal. They have the firepower, not the experience. Novak Djokovic

:03:00.:03:07.

against Dimitrov. Federer against Ray on it. -- Raonic. Old versus

:03:08.:03:13.

new. Let the battle commence. We are looking forward to these

:03:14.:03:29.

fascinating match ups. Play gets under way on Centre Court at 1pm.

:03:30.:03:34.

First up, Novak Djokovic, the top seed. He is the bookies favourite.

:03:35.:03:39.

He is against Grigor Dimitrov. Second on Centre Court, Roger

:03:40.:03:46.

Federer who is looking to stay on course for a record eighth Wimbledon

:03:47.:03:53.

title. Up against Milos Raonic. So much to look forward to, so much to

:03:54.:04:00.

talk about as well. Novak Djokovic arriving here. He knows all about

:04:01.:04:03.

the big match experience. Looking very calm and relaxed on the

:04:04.:04:07.

practice court. It is a whole new experience for this young man,

:04:08.:04:11.

Grigor Dimitrov. He looked into Mendez form against Andy Murray and

:04:12.:04:18.

was a worthy winner -- in tremendous form. Milos Raonic has been serving

:04:19.:04:27.

at 140mph. He takes on the legend, Roger Federer. This is the scene on

:04:28.:04:32.

the hill, Henman Hill. They will be watching on the big screen. Even

:04:33.:04:36.

though most of the matches are being played on the two show courts, still

:04:37.:04:42.

a big crowd coming to enjoy the Wimbledon experience, to have a

:04:43.:04:46.

photo taken in front of some of the famous landmarks, get an autograph

:04:47.:04:50.

or two and just enjoy being at Wimbledon. Great atmosphere here on

:04:51.:04:57.

men's semifinals day. I am here with two favourites. Back on his Hill,

:04:58.:05:05.

Tim. And Jimmy. A special day. Nothing better than this. What I

:05:06.:05:10.

like about it is that you get the old guard and the new. You are going

:05:11.:05:18.

to have a match with Djokovic and Dimitrov. A lot of moving around.

:05:19.:05:28.

Imagination. Followed by the Federer Raonic match. I am looking forward

:05:29.:05:33.

to a great day. A little bit of everything. Two players, a whole new

:05:34.:05:39.

excellence for them. As we have alluded to in the top of the show,

:05:40.:05:45.

it is the old versus the new guard. New classes experience. It will be

:05:46.:05:49.

very interesting to see how the new boys, Dimitrov and Raonic, how they

:05:50.:05:55.

perform. Djokovic and Federer have got the experience. Very interesting

:05:56.:06:00.

matchups. Djokovic and Dimitrov are two of the best defenders, two of

:06:01.:06:05.

the best movers on grass. It will be interesting to see who has the

:06:06.:06:10.

impact in those rallies. It will be interesting to see if Raonic can

:06:11.:06:16.

serve through Federer. We have got so much to talk about. What about

:06:17.:06:21.

the weather? It has been very hot and sunny today. Let us find out if

:06:22.:06:27.

it will stay. The weather is therefore today. Look who is leaving

:06:28.:06:31.

the court now, Roger Federer has been warming up. The weather is also

:06:32.:06:36.

warming up too. Yesterday we had the highest temperature of the year so

:06:37.:06:40.

far. Today we might top it. For Wimbledon, sunshine this afternoon.

:06:41.:06:46.

A noticeable breeze. It makes it feel a little bit cooler. As we head

:06:47.:06:51.

on through the day into the evening, the cloud will start to build. That

:06:52.:06:57.

is ahead of a weather front coming our way. Today we expect it to stay

:06:58.:07:03.

dry. Tomorrow, well, it will start early on with rain. There will be

:07:04.:07:09.

quite a lot of cloud behind it. Lighter rain coming our way. We

:07:10.:07:13.

expect it to improve through the course of the afternoon. For Sunday

:07:14.:07:17.

itself, we are looking at a mixture of sunshine and showers. 60% risk of

:07:18.:07:22.

the showers at this stage. There will be sunshine in between. At

:07:23.:07:26.

least it means the pollen levels will start to come down after today.

:07:27.:07:45.

That is good news. Is this worthy of scorchio? I think it is. The four

:07:46.:07:50.

players have different styles of play. We have done a feature,

:07:51.:08:02.

comparing style versus substance. How do you design the perfect tennis

:08:03.:08:07.

player? What is the balance between style and substance? Why is it that

:08:08.:08:11.

Roger Federer is described not just as a great player but as a beautiful

:08:12.:08:14.

one too? Think of how we connect with some

:08:15.:08:26.

players more than others. Some of them, the way they play, they way

:08:27.:08:31.

they move, they inspire us, almost like a great painting or a fine

:08:32.:08:35.

piece of music. Watching Federer move is like watching Bruce --

:08:36.:08:45.

watching a ballerina in his prime. There is not a lot of impact on his

:08:46.:08:50.

feet. To me, it is unbelievable. He makes it look so easy. Roger Federer

:08:51.:08:56.

is probably the greatest example of a player who can play his game and

:08:57.:09:00.

float around the court, no matter what the score is, no matter what

:09:01.:09:04.

the situation is. And still he looks like he has a great resolve of a

:09:05.:09:09.

champion. A lot of people think that when they watch Federer, you close

:09:10.:09:16.

your eyes and you dream and you imagine the great poet. He has that

:09:17.:09:18.

classical game. We are well aware that greatness is

:09:19.:09:35.

about far more than functionality. Seve Ballesteros was not the most

:09:36.:09:40.

successful golfer in the world but he changed the fabric of golf.

:09:41.:09:46.

Brazil in the 1970s made football saying. Pele-macro. Which tennis

:09:47.:09:58.

player makes using? Is it Federer with his finesse and grace? Or

:09:59.:10:08.

Raonic with power and craft? Is it Djokovic who marries precision and

:10:09.:10:13.

versatility? Or Dimitrov who has the hardest of shots but the softest of

:10:14.:10:22.

hands? To the touch and elegance of Ilie Nastase and McEnroe to the

:10:23.:10:26.

top-spin of Bjorn Borg to the power of Pete Sampras. And then to the

:10:27.:10:30.

almost floating movement of Roger Federer. For me, that was fun to

:10:31.:10:39.

watch, but it was not me. If you see a couple of shots of Rafa Nadal as

:10:40.:10:43.

he sidesteps with beautiful balance and then right before impact is able

:10:44.:10:47.

to push off his back leg and hit this incredibly powerful shot... You

:10:48.:10:54.

cannot see it in boxing, the left hook. It was scripted from God. Wow.

:10:55.:11:02.

I wish I could have done that. The most beautiful shot was the Monica

:11:03.:11:06.

Seles return. It was not necessarily a thing of artistry, but how she

:11:07.:11:10.

managed to take balls early and put them in impossible positions in the

:11:11.:11:17.

court. I loved watching her play. Serena Williams's serve. So

:11:18.:11:23.

effortless. Yet she hits 125mph. When people make the difficult

:11:24.:11:26.

things look easy, people admire that. Roger Federer is the epitome

:11:27.:11:33.

of that. In sport, there is the argument it is only about winning,

:11:34.:11:38.

style does not matter at all. That of course is the conventional

:11:39.:11:42.

perspective of the players. In order of importance, always, winning.

:11:43.:11:48.

Style or substance? If you have got the style, you had bet to have the

:11:49.:12:01.

substance. The you become aware of having to have both. If you can have

:12:02.:12:05.

style and elegance and feed off the crowd and have the crowd get behind

:12:06.:12:09.

you or sometimes be involved one way or another, and involve them, then

:12:10.:12:17.

you have succeeded. If you top that off with showing them how it is

:12:18.:12:21.

done, that is the ultimate. But you have got to go with winning first.

:12:22.:12:26.

Sports people want to win above all else. But it is often in the

:12:27.:12:30.

striving that they produce both beauty and meaning that capture our

:12:31.:12:40.

hearts and minds. Beauty is of course highly subjective. There is

:12:41.:12:48.

only one thing that is impossible to understand, those who fail to see

:12:49.:12:57.

the beauty in sport. That Federer backhand is certainly a

:12:58.:13:01.

thing of beauty. I am going to throw you a curveball. Style versus

:13:02.:13:05.

substance, how would you describe Tim Henman's game? Be kind to me! I

:13:06.:13:13.

will pay you after. Tim is the epitome of the classic serve and

:13:14.:13:19.

volley player. Old school, movement around the court, movement forward,

:13:20.:13:22.

the way he got his body in the flow into his shots. That is not today's

:13:23.:13:31.

game. Today's game is more grinding from the baseline. Side to side

:13:32.:13:38.

movement. Tim was touch and feel. Style. 100%. Substance, a little...

:13:39.:13:48.

That would have helped! You can only do what you can do in the way you do

:13:49.:13:53.

it the best. I watched you play an awful lot and always marvelled

:13:54.:13:59.

watching things that I could not do. Serve and volley was not my thing.

:14:00.:14:02.

The way you did it and the way you got around the net, you, John

:14:03.:14:08.

McEnroe, Stefan Edberg, the best of that. Don't pick him up too much! I

:14:09.:14:14.

am not going to say it any other way than the way it is. We were talking

:14:15.:14:20.

about it. When I was growing up, it was the era of John McEnroe, his

:14:21.:14:25.

competitive instinct on the court, the way he fought. Hitting flat from

:14:26.:14:29.

the baseline, never say die attitude. Style, substance, passion,

:14:30.:14:38.

charisma, he had it all. When did you play the last US Open? I was 40.

:14:39.:14:52.

Looking ahead to the semifinals, we have asked you to pick out what the

:14:53.:15:01.

players are special act. With Roger, you can take so many boxes. He has

:15:02.:15:06.

the versatility, staying in the rally, picking off a passing shot

:15:07.:15:10.

because he is capable of hitting those types of shots. This is his

:15:11.:15:15.

bread and butter, the big serve setting up the forehand.

:15:16.:15:19.

Unbelievable skill to control that prof Wally. When he is hitting his

:15:20.:15:24.

spots on his serve, he is so difficult to play against -- that

:15:25.:15:30.

half volley. Looking to dictate with the forehand, move forehand, soft

:15:31.:15:36.

hands on the drop volley. So many different attributes. That is why I

:15:37.:15:39.

think he will prove a tough challenge for Raonic. Huge point,

:15:40.:15:47.

second serve. Maybe this is the Stefan Edberg influence, getting

:15:48.:15:50.

forward more. He is looking very comfortable. The style and grace of

:15:51.:15:58.

the backhand is something to enjoy. This was him practising earlier.

:15:59.:16:03.

Ninth Wimbledon semifinal. He has never lost one of them, only one

:16:04.:16:09.

set. Pretty good effort. He is a big match player, no doubt about it. He

:16:10.:16:14.

has won here seven times. To come out time after time year after year

:16:15.:16:19.

and to lift your game to equal the level of your performance is

:16:20.:16:24.

something very special. He has done that. The second week of Wimbledon

:16:25.:16:27.

is one the best players play their best tennis. Obviously, his record

:16:28.:16:34.

has proven that. When you said the Stefan Edberg influence, I think

:16:35.:16:38.

that is a big part of it. Watching him play a little bit this week, I

:16:39.:16:42.

noticed he is trying to get in, mixing his shots up better, not just

:16:43.:16:47.

satisfied being at the baseline, sneaking in, letting the player go

:16:48.:16:51.

for his shot and getting the ball out of the air. That is old school.

:16:52.:16:58.

He is up against the ace machine that is Milos Raonic. Milos Raonic

:16:59.:17:06.

has the best serve in the game right now. If he is serving at 135-140

:17:07.:17:12.

mph-macro, it is so difficult to read. It most like you have to use a

:17:13.:17:21.

volleying technique to block the ball back into play. Federer can do

:17:22.:17:26.

that, if they get into baseline rallies when he has been able to

:17:27.:17:30.

take the serve out of the equation, I think Federer will come out on

:17:31.:17:35.

top. As you saw with Nick Kiryat against Nadal, if he serves 35, 40

:17:36.:17:43.

aces, that is such a good platform for his game. That is fed against

:17:44.:17:50.

Milos Raonic. Dimitrov was impressive against Murray. The start

:17:51.:17:54.

of that match, the first 25 minutes when he came out and won the first

:17:55.:17:56.

set 6-1, when he came out and won the first

:17:57.:17:59.

that was an impressive start. He needs to make a good start today. We

:18:00.:18:04.

see the similarities with Dimitrov's game to the Federer's

:18:05.:18:09.

game. Style and dexterity. The half volley between the legs. Dimitrov

:18:10.:18:21.

has to impose his game against Djokovic. They are both great

:18:22.:18:25.

defenders. It is whether he can stay in the rally and create

:18:26.:18:29.

opportunities to move forward and dominate. Novak Djokovic, talking

:18:30.:18:33.

about the defence, he is so tough to beat in a Grand Slam. He is a runner

:18:34.:18:37.

and he is not afraid to keep the ball in play and mixes shots up. We

:18:38.:18:42.

talked the other day about the way the players slide on grass and hard

:18:43.:18:48.

courts. He spreads himself out and really puts everything he has, body

:18:49.:18:53.

and soul, into getting every shot back. To have him go out of there,

:18:54.:19:00.

he has won before, he knows what it is like to be playing there. He is

:19:01.:19:04.

playing against a young upstart who wants to make his name and

:19:05.:19:07.

reputation and he is going to have to be equal to the task. When you

:19:08.:19:12.

see them move, for me, as you rightly say, sliding, now on grass

:19:13.:19:17.

courts, the way to move at the back of the court, when it gets dusty, it

:19:18.:19:23.

is to slide. His balance, flexibility. Flexibility, that is

:19:24.:19:27.

beyond flexible itty! Just incredible. Some of that is that you

:19:28.:19:35.

are born with that but also when you look at his physique and how hard he

:19:36.:19:38.

works, it is an area of his game where he realises it is massively

:19:39.:19:45.

important. Defence is a huge part of his game and I am sure we will see

:19:46.:19:50.

today. He loves the big occasion. He was practising earlier, Novak

:19:51.:19:54.

Djokovic and Garry Richardson and John Lloyd were there too.

:19:55.:20:00.

Novak Djokovic, 23 Grand Slam semifinals. Even for him, the

:20:01.:20:06.

occasion is massive. It is huge. He has been Mr consistency in so many

:20:07.:20:10.

ways but he has not had a good record in the finals. That is

:20:11.:20:13.

something he has got to correct and that is why he has brought in Boris

:20:14.:20:21.

Becker. This was Boris's home. He needs the mental side to get him

:20:22.:20:26.

through the semi and then the final. Boris has a word every now and

:20:27.:20:34.

again. He is so confident. This is where you want to be, this is where

:20:35.:20:40.

you want to play your best tennis. Novak Djokovic so vastly

:20:41.:20:46.

experienced. We don't know how Grigor Dimitrov will react. If he

:20:47.:20:49.

plays as well as he did against Murray, we could have an epic match

:20:50.:20:53.

will stop I think Novak Djokovic has got too much experience for him. --

:20:54.:20:58.

an epic match. How can he possibly lose this match? He can lose it if

:20:59.:21:05.

the good image of days against him like he did against Murray. He has

:21:06.:21:10.

weapons that can hurt Djokovic. But I think over five sets, Djokovic

:21:11.:21:15.

will be a little bit too good. Thank you. Such a great competitor.

:21:16.:21:22.

That is why he has won Wimbledon and the US Open. He has got to

:21:23.:21:28.

understand that what he has done before does not count. You can throw

:21:29.:21:32.

all the statistics out of the window. Every match at Wimbledon is

:21:33.:21:36.

the most important but up to get ahead of yourself is a huge mistake.

:21:37.:21:41.

To settle in and to get into this match from the very beginning, that

:21:42.:21:45.

will be important. A slow start could be trouble. Djokovic is such a

:21:46.:21:52.

gutsy player. Against Marin Cilic, getting the fifth set, he loves a

:21:53.:21:57.

battle. He does. Reflecting on the five matches so far, he has not

:21:58.:22:02.

played brilliantly but he has always done enough. When he played Radek

:22:03.:22:06.

Stepanek, that was a dogfight but he got through it. You look at the

:22:07.:22:10.

ability of the great champions when things are not going perfectly to

:22:11.:22:16.

get a win. I think he will do that today. Dimitrov got off to a

:22:17.:22:22.

fantastic start against Murray to win the first set 6-1. It is

:22:23.:22:25.

important he gets off to eight good start. The biggest match of his life

:22:26.:22:31.

-- good start. The early stages will be key. But I do see Djokovic coming

:22:32.:22:38.

through. Tennis is a confidence game. If you start strong and get on

:22:39.:22:44.

top. Things start flowing freely. For Dimitrov, that will be very

:22:45.:22:48.

important, to start that way. He does not want to get behind. A good

:22:49.:22:56.

start from both players, but whoever comes off is going to have to play

:22:57.:23:02.

mentally but also with the kind of game they are bringing to the Centre

:23:03.:23:07.

Court. We saw Novak Djokovic on the practice court. Let us hear from his

:23:08.:23:13.

coach, Boris Becker. What has he been up to? He is in

:23:14.:23:18.

good form and excited to play. It is sunny. That does not happen

:23:19.:23:23.

everyday. Another semifinal, a big match ahead. He was telling me

:23:24.:23:27.

earlier this week that the semifinalists are different. You

:23:28.:23:30.

have experienced it, when you walk up for the semifinal, what is it

:23:31.:23:36.

like? It is a special place to play tennis. It is always a privilege to

:23:37.:23:41.

be on Centre Court. At the end of the day, it is a match that has to

:23:42.:23:45.

be played. Dimitrov is a tough opponent. What are you expecting

:23:46.:23:51.

from Dimitrov? Can he produce such a high intensity again for the

:23:52.:23:56.

semifinal? He has to beat Djokovic will stop hopefully not! But he had

:23:57.:24:00.

a phenomenal match against Andy Murray -- to be Djokovic. Hopefully

:24:01.:24:07.

not! He has not lost a match on grass yet so he is on fine form.

:24:08.:24:14.

50-50 match. He will walk out shortly, do you say anything more?

:24:15.:24:19.

What do you say to him before he goes out? We speak a little bit. But

:24:20.:24:24.

stays in the locker room. Thank you. In by.

:24:25.:24:30.

We don't believe him. 50-50 match. Was his areas? I don't think

:24:31.:24:39.

Djokovic would be pleased with that! -- was he serious! More 60-40

:24:40.:24:44.

Djokovic. What about Grigor Dimitrov? He beat Andy Murray in the

:24:45.:24:50.

quarterfinal and after that victory he spoke to John Inverdale.

:24:51.:25:00.

The defence of Andy Murray's Wimbledon crown is over.

:25:01.:25:12.

Best day of your life? Could be! A good feeling. A good feeling to have

:25:13.:25:19.

a win like that. The quarterfinal match, Wimbledon, defending

:25:20.:25:25.

champion, Centre Court. What more can you ask? I read you felt

:25:26.:25:32.

something in the air about Andy Murray's body language. Can you

:25:33.:25:36.

explain that? Just a feeling early on. I have practised with him so

:25:37.:25:41.

many times. I see when he is striking the ball really well and

:25:42.:25:45.

when he is a bit rusty. I think early on in the match, as soon as we

:25:46.:25:50.

started hitting the ball, I was feeling comfortable and it was just

:25:51.:25:57.

my gut feeling. The one thing is for sure is that I don't think Andy

:25:58.:26:01.

Murray ever plays bad tennis. He is always fighting and he is a

:26:02.:26:06.

tremendous guy on and off the court. What was the feeling like when you

:26:07.:26:10.

knew you were in a grandson semifinal? Amazing. My parents and

:26:11.:26:17.

close friends were in the box -- you were in a Grand Slam semifinal? They

:26:18.:26:27.

give me power and confidence. Exciting. In the box, Roger Rasheed.

:26:28.:26:32.

Can you explain what he has done to make Grigor Dimitrov almost reaches

:26:33.:26:37.

potential? I am giving him all of the credit! We try to focus on the

:26:38.:26:46.

moment. We never look at just one thing in particular. We relax and

:26:47.:26:50.

see the whole picture and what we are aiming for. For me, it is a

:26:51.:26:59.

great relationship that we have. He has looked strong over the past six

:27:00.:27:02.

- eight months. That is training, what we are doing on the practice

:27:03.:27:06.

court. Everything that revolves around how strong he can be. His

:27:07.:27:12.

biggest rent is that he is 25% of the way through his development. --

:27:13.:27:17.

biggest strength. People might say I am nuts. We started in October, from

:27:18.:27:22.

where he was to where he is now, eight months, he is only going

:27:23.:27:27.

to... We have only touched the physical side and the mental side of

:27:28.:27:33.

the game. He wants to be uncomfortable and accountable and

:27:34.:27:35.

see what challenges he can take on and what he has got to deliver.

:27:36.:27:41.

Four, five years ago, he said, I want to be playing the big guys.

:27:42.:27:47.

Here you are now playing Djokovic in the semifinal at Wimbledon. How does

:27:48.:27:54.

that sound? It sounds exactly as I imagined it. I live for those

:27:55.:27:59.

moments. I compete for that and for me it is just... I have done the

:28:00.:28:05.

work now and I could say I am happily rewarded to get that

:28:06.:28:08.

position right now about I don't want to end things now because I

:28:09.:28:14.

have bigger goals and bigger potential and a lot of homework to

:28:15.:28:20.

be done. Playing Novak that is an awesome feeling for me. Dare you

:28:21.:28:26.

think about Sunday? Of course. That is my ultimate goal. This is where

:28:27.:28:32.

the drama will unfold. A place Novak Djokovic knows very well. Not so

:28:33.:28:39.

much Grigor Dimitrov. His first major Grand Slam semifinal. A whole

:28:40.:28:44.

new extremes for him. It is a nervy wait. He needs to avoid the let

:28:45.:28:50.

down. He had a great match against Murray. He needs to have the

:28:51.:28:52.

confidence he ended the match with. I know he had a day off and you can

:28:53.:28:58.

settle in and understand what he has to do. The importance of coming out

:28:59.:29:03.

and starting quick, I cannot say that enough for him. If he comes out

:29:04.:29:09.

slope and let's Novak Djokovic get on top, it will be a big mistake.

:29:10.:29:14.

One week, one fortnight, one match, it does not a career make.

:29:15.:29:20.

Everything we are talking about, the young players, they have to back it

:29:21.:29:23.

up with future play. We will see what happens. We just saw Rod Laver

:29:24.:29:30.

and Jack Nicholas. You have played golf with him? I have not. I would

:29:31.:29:40.

love to. That makes two of us. I was going to ask Jimmy if he remember is

:29:41.:29:44.

what it was like, his first Grand Slam semifinal but when we looked at

:29:45.:29:49.

the record, you have been in 31 Grand Slam semifinals. The second on

:29:50.:29:52.

the all-time list, behind Roger Federer. There's nothing I can do

:29:53.:29:57.

about it now. To be honest with you, getting to the semis, you can see

:29:58.:30:01.

the finish line. As I said earlier, you don't want to get ahead of

:30:02.:30:03.

yourself but the feeling of walking out there, knowing winning Wimbledon

:30:04.:30:12.

is a grasp away, your heart pounds for that. And then to go out and

:30:13.:30:16.

play the kind of tennis which you are supposed to do, to get you into

:30:17.:30:21.

the finals, there's nothing better. I don't think that feeling is

:30:22.:30:25.

expressed in. I wish the fans could really understand what it means for

:30:26.:30:31.

the players walking out there today. Especially Dimitrov and Raonic

:30:32.:30:35.

because they have not been there before. Dimitrov, we will find out

:30:36.:30:43.

if he has the stomach for the big occasions because it can affect

:30:44.:30:47.

people. Yes, there is no doubt there is the technical aspect of the game

:30:48.:30:51.

to match up. Coming to this occasion for the first time, how they handle

:30:52.:30:57.

it mentally, for Dimitrov, that is where Roger Rasheed has had a big

:30:58.:31:00.

part to play. His coaches had a fantastic job. -- his coaches done a

:31:01.:31:11.

fantastic job. The players have been called and we are ready for our

:31:12.:31:14.

first Wimbledon semifinal. And here they come. No doubt, a

:31:15.:31:21.

massive ovation for both players. Murray coming out for a semi, he

:31:22.:32:15.

talked about being nervous but only for the first few games. You hope

:32:16.:32:21.

Grigor Dimitrov can lose his nerves early on. Definitely, he will have

:32:22.:32:26.

been itching to get out on the court for the last 20 minutes. And start

:32:27.:32:30.

hitting some balls, get his feet moving. It's an important stage of

:32:31.:32:37.

the match. He wants to get settled in, concentrate on his first couple

:32:38.:32:41.

of service games and start to impose his game style. Definitely an

:32:42.:32:47.

important first 15 or 20 minutes. If you look at the head-to-head in the

:32:48.:32:50.

last time they played at the French Open last year, Dimitrov is such a

:32:51.:32:56.

different player now. Certainly more experience. I think that's going to

:32:57.:33:00.

work well with him. A lot of guys before a big match like this will be

:33:01.:33:08.

so ready. If he handled himself well in the locker room before he walks

:33:09.:33:14.

out, and is calm and collected, he moved his feet, get his game in

:33:15.:33:19.

order, he should be fine. He was champion at Queen's. How much is

:33:20.:33:25.

that confidence factor? Massively. Sports men and women talk about

:33:26.:33:29.

confidence. When you are coming in on the back of winning at Queen's,

:33:30.:33:32.

and now through to the semifinals, on the back of winning at Queen's,

:33:33.:33:57.

champion and he has said on the back of winning at Queen's,

:33:58.:33:57.

her work ethic has really helped him. Also her mentioning a few

:33:58.:34:04.

things to him. Also her mentioning a few

it. She has been there, him. Also her mentioning a few

:34:14.:34:18.

particular, the second serve of big difference for Dimitrov to

:35:20.:35:26.

is too short. That's not going to get it done against Novak, who takes

:35:27.:35:33.

control of this rally. And wins it. One of the surprising things with

:35:34.:35:34.

how well Dimitrov went into his background. Going across court. Andy

:35:35.:35:42.

perhaps background. Going across court. Andy

:35:43.:35:42.

well enough. You can see down the line, 24% not spreading his play.

:35:43.:35:53.

Dimitrov won't get that line, 24% not spreading his play.

:35:54.:35:53.

around better than anyone. He's got to defend more the baseline.

:35:54.:36:05.

around better than anyone. He's got seized his opportunity here to

:36:06.:36:11.

exploit the space. So that is Novak Djokovic. Let's have a look at

:36:12.:36:11.

Grigor Dimitrov's weapons. He has Djokovic. Let's have a look at

:36:12.:36:21.

worked on the slice and Djokovic. Let's have a look at

:36:22.:36:22.

see the red line at the bottom of your screen. It's almost one metre

:36:23.:36:35.

lower than the yellow your screen. It's almost one metre

errors coming off the slice and the blend of tennis. That height

:36:37.:36:55.

errors coming off the slice and the miss time balls allowing Dimitrov to

:36:56.:36:55.

errors coming off the slice and the beating the top guys if you have got

:36:56.:37:17.

errors coming off the slice and the Mark Petchey going with the bookies

:37:18.:37:19.

favourite. That's not surprising. Interesting about the server and how

:37:20.:37:24.

high and difficult it is. Definitely, that was an element of

:37:25.:37:28.

Murray's game which was disappointing. On second serve, he

:37:29.:37:31.

let Dimitrov attack a lot of the time. We saw Djokovic getting a lot

:37:32.:37:38.

more left off the court. Perhaps that won't make life easy for

:37:39.:37:42.

Djokovic but some interesting analysis on how effective the slice

:37:43.:37:46.

backhand was for Dimitrov. He will look to keep the ball low so

:37:47.:37:50.

Djokovic has to attack off the next ball. Morris, always such a present

:37:51.:37:57.

on Centre Court. His keeping an eye on Novak Djokovic. -- Boris. He

:37:58.:38:05.

can't stay back and just trade shots. He is too good from the

:38:06.:38:11.

baseline. Especially on his backhand. He can continue to go for

:38:12.:38:15.

it but when he gets a shoulder on the two hander, he can drive the

:38:16.:38:19.

ball with pace up the line and that's not an easy shot. He's going

:38:20.:38:22.

over the higher part of the net so has to get his body behind it and

:38:23.:38:25.

nobody in the game does it better. On the other side, Dimitrov with the

:38:26.:38:30.

slice, he had better not floated over because Djokovic will take

:38:31.:38:36.

advantage of it. Move forward. Get close to the net. It's going to be

:38:37.:38:40.

interesting. There will be some great valleys out there today.

:38:41.:38:48.

Absolutely. -- rallies. Dimitar Berbatov have to go out there and

:38:49.:38:52.

mix-up the pattern of play from the baseline, use his slice of them take

:38:53.:38:56.

the initiative. He needs to serve aggressively. He will have to

:38:57.:39:02.

dictate with his forehand. If he can finish points off at the net, he

:39:03.:39:06.

definitely has a chance. Thank you very much for your comments. We are

:39:07.:39:11.

ready for the first semifinal. Let's join the commentary team, Andrew

:39:12.:39:15.

Castle, John Leyden John McEnroe. ANDREW CASTLE: Thank you very much.

:39:16.:39:24.

An amazing sporting venue attracting a fair amount of sports lovers.

Jude Law talking to their grills's wife. This is a fascinating contest.

:39:30.:39:43.

They have played a bit. Dimitrov won an important match last year in

:39:44.:39:46.

Madrid. How do you find words to describe the magic they came up with

:39:47.:39:55.

in that match? Victory at Roland Garros. And very, very built-up

:39:56.:40:04.

match. Straight sets. This is one year on. A different contest. Justin

:40:25.:40:33.

Hello, John. How are you? This is going to be a great day tennis.

:40:34.:40:40.

Definitely. tournament for him, 135. Maria

:40:41.:41:22.

Sharapova, Grigor's girlfriend. John Lloyd, remember the advice

:41:23.:41:43.

Maria gave to Grigor. She just said Wayne come a very simple. Basic but

:41:44.:41:47.

effective -- win. Arriving here today, you can look

:41:48.:42:22.

around and see a lot of schoolkids doing their sports day with

:42:23.:42:26.

exuberance in the sunshine and this is what Tim Trough -- Dimitrov

:42:27.:42:36.

brings to the court, the ability to have joy. If he can maintain that,

:42:37.:42:38.

brings to the court, the ability to have joy. If he can it'll be good.

:42:39.:42:42.

It's interesting because he's talked about how improved his fitness is. I

:42:43.:42:48.

think he will be tested. He ran 30 miles over winds and common during

:42:49.:42:51.

Queen's. And then won the tournament the same week. -- Wimbledon Common.

:42:52.:42:59.

At one time? Over the course of the week. Roger Rasheed has got him

:43:00.:43:05.

working. If he had done it in one day, I would be very impressed.

:43:06.:43:17.

Windier than players have had to deal with for most of this event.

:43:18.:43:47.

I think Dimitrov twirls his racket more than Federer between shots.

:43:48.:43:54.

Unbelievable. The breeze is going to be an issue. Hit a cleanable. --

:43:55.:44:05.

cleaner ball. This guide twirls his racket more than Federer and slides

:44:06.:44:08.

more than Djokovic. Left it and he shouldn't have done.

:44:09.:45:07.

Especially since he was right there. To put away that volley, easily.

:45:08.:45:14.

The intention of Dimitrov today is to make Djokovic pass all day long.

:45:15.:45:24.

His movement at the net is very high. He likes a target.

:45:25.:45:37.

Pressure clearly on the number one seed's shoulders here. That is the

:45:38.:45:46.

challenge correct. Expected to win this.

:45:47.:46:40.

works even better. -- a mishit. A good illustration of which way the

:46:41.:46:46.

wind is blowing on that one as well. As Dimitrov is serving, it is left

:46:47.:46:53.

to right. Djokovic, right to left. A heavy wind, at times.

:46:54.:47:30.

That is too long and that is comfortable for Dimitrov, who is

:47:31.:47:36.

settling into the semifinal clash. It is a first semifinal at Grand

:47:37.:47:41.

Slam level for the young man from Belgrade. The 23rd Grand Slam

:47:42.:47:50.

semifinal for Novak Djokovic, so a vast gulf in experience between the

:47:51.:47:51.

two men. But victory over Andy Murray will stand them in good

:47:52.:48:05.

stead. He hesitated a bit of a second set against Murray when he

:48:06.:48:08.

hesitated a bit of the second set against Murray wedding at the break.

:48:09.:48:12.

But when he reset and he came down to the tie-breaker commie played

:48:13.:48:16.

three great points in the tie-breaker and after that, he came

:48:17.:48:20.

through a lot in that match to win it in that manner. It proved to him,

:48:21.:48:31.

I'm sure. Andrew, I know you do your homework as you always do. Has he

:48:32.:48:35.

been able to defeat three of these top four guys in a Grand Slam event?

:48:36.:48:41.

It depends what happens later, obviously. Let's assume Roger

:48:42.:48:47.

somehow wins, he would have to beat three other top four guys. How long

:48:48.:48:53.

have I got to find your answer? Until the end of this game. Tomas

:48:54.:48:59.

Berdych came close, didn't he? Two out of three. But I don't win

:49:00.:49:08.

anything? I'm guessing zero. Could it be this guy, Dimitrov to do it?

:49:09.:49:27.

I will have John McEnroe's answer by Sunday. If required. I think it

:49:28.:49:37.

needs to be sooner than that. This is quietly building, isn't it?

:49:38.:50:07.

Potentially, this could be an epic match.

:50:08.:50:39.

Djokovic appears to have settled into his serving with them. --

:50:40.:50:56.

rhythm. Three aces. He has not missed a first serve yet.

:50:57.:51:01.

Considering the fact at the end of 2010, at three in the world, he

:51:02.:51:06.

served more double faults than aces, this is a phenomenal turnaround. He

:51:07.:51:10.

changed his motion of it. And it has become a weapon for him, dependable.

:51:11.:51:20.

Didn't need to play it. It was going out. He swung too hard and did not

:51:21.:51:28.

need to hit it as hard, either, so really mishandled that.

:51:29.:51:53.

Two dodgy points in a row. When you're thinking about the shot, it

:51:54.:52:01.

was butchered there and then you throw in the double. Don't want to

:52:02.:52:04.

do that against this guy. This is a very untidy game from

:52:05.:52:37.

Dimitrov. Slightly off track. It's so strange because he started the

:52:38.:52:41.

match so well. This looks like a first game match coming out here in

:52:42.:52:46.

the semifinals, but he has played well so far but the last three

:52:47.:52:48.

points have been awful. Boris Becker delighted with his

:52:49.:53:22.

manner. He played every point with Djokovic and he will be puffing his

:53:23.:53:26.

chest out a, because that was a good game there. Normally, at this level,

:53:27.:53:33.

you may play one, possibly too bad points, but it's very rare with top

:53:34.:53:39.

players, that they play three or four like you did there. Djokovic

:53:40.:53:45.

didn't really in that game. To maintain composure, we said it was

:53:46.:53:49.

important. That was a loss of a different moment, wasn't it? That

:53:50.:53:56.

first volley, it was such a gimme. He shouldn't have had it in the

:53:57.:54:00.

first place. Then he tried to hit it too hard. Clearly, it bothered him

:54:01.:54:05.

and any double-faulted. The wind picked up a little bit. When you

:54:06.:54:09.

start getting nervous, you have got to keep your feet moving. He looked

:54:10.:54:13.

flat-footed on a couple of balls. And he got anxious. I was lucky to

:54:14.:54:26.

do half an hour by radio show last night with my idol, this great man,

:54:27.:54:30.

Rod Laver. To his right, Jack Nicklaus. That is John Lloyd's

:54:31.:54:36.

playing partner. He has three grass courts at his home in Florida. One

:54:37.:54:39.

as good as Wimbledon. Still hasn't missed a first serve.

:54:40.:55:03.

Five aces. 11 out of 11. Playing with intent.

:55:04.:55:30.

It doesn't appear like a lot of happened so far in some ways and,

:55:31.:55:59.

yet, this is perfection from Djokovic. He's not giving Dimitrov

:56:00.:56:04.

what he wants, a look at his second serve because he knows Dimitrov will

:56:05.:56:07.

pummel it. Brilliant, brilliant. When you think of 2010, I remember

:56:08.:56:33.

the French Open, he could barely get the serve in court. It was

:56:34.:56:37.

embarrassing. Then he corrected it, from that motion. Now, what a weapon

:56:38.:56:42.

his service. Last game with the tennis balls here. Djokovic will

:56:43.:56:45.

fancy this. another one when you are volley

:56:46.:57:48.

against Novak Djokovic. Brilliant. Both players. Look at this.

:57:49.:58:12.

One wonders how long Roger Rasheed will be happy being so open? This is

:58:13.:58:25.

the first semifinal, a Grand Slam, Australia, Novak Djokovic and his

:58:26.:58:33.

people would have been listening to exactly what was said and the game

:58:34.:58:39.

plan, against Djokovic, was going to be exactly the same game plan

:58:40.:58:45.

against Murray. What really changed things for Dimitrov... As we see how

:58:46.:58:53.

they got here. A one-handed sliced backhand. It drove Murray absolutely

:58:54.:58:59.

crazy, that shot. The best executed one-handed backhand slice I have

:59:00.:59:06.

seen for years. We saw Stan Wawrinka do well. Roger, magical. But, this

:59:07.:59:13.

guy has got to figure out a way to use that shot. Test Novak, force

:59:14.:59:18.

them into uncomfortable positions, like he was able to do so

:59:19.:59:23.

successfully against Murray. Eventually, this will change but he

:59:24.:59:30.

is 15 out of 15, first serve. Unbelievable. It's tough to break a

:59:31.:59:35.

guy when you don't miss a symbol -- single one of them. New tennis balls

:59:36.:59:40.

now. Let's see if that changes anything.

:59:41.:59:50.

Another room I think you should change. If you toss .com you should

:59:51.:59:56.

hit it. I have been saying that for years, absolutely. As someone who

:59:57.:00:01.

has done that, I definitely don't agree with that.

:00:02.:00:43.

That wind is making life difficult for both guys. He is having a really

:00:44.:00:58.

tough time with it. It has got into his head here, part of why he lost

:00:59.:01:04.

his serve and played such a poor game. This is unbelievable! It

:01:05.:01:12.

really is. He is in this zone now. Presumably he would not be

:01:13.:01:19.

thinking... It is tricky out there, with the wind.

:01:20.:01:26.

Such a good shot! Safe. Flat over the low part of the net. So smart,

:01:27.:01:53.

the way he plays. The way he moves, great decision maker. He is not

:01:54.:02:01.

going to beat himself. This guy is going to have to lift his game,

:02:02.:02:03.

Dimitrov, quickly. You can see the great skills he has

:02:04.:03:05.

when he is able to come up with the right answer with the drop shot

:03:06.:03:09.

after he overran the ball. First ace in this match. 50th for

:03:10.:03:34.

the tournament. And 51 follows. He manages to hold which will make

:03:35.:03:39.

Djokovic serve for the first set at least. Dimitrov is from Bulgaria,

:03:40.:03:46.

from the south, not far from the borders of Greece and Turkey. Less

:03:47.:03:52.

than 100,000 people in that town. To say here is a big deal in that

:03:53.:03:56.

country is an understatement. Went to Paris as a teenager. He made the

:03:57.:04:03.

sacrifice, just as Murray at 15 went to Barcelona. Novak Djokovic went to

:04:04.:04:08.

an academy in Germany. This is the price you pay to be an expert in

:04:09.:04:12.

your field and to be handsomely rewarded. We have seen him in the

:04:13.:04:16.

last four weeks turn into a global star. I do not think a lot of people

:04:17.:04:22.

would think that is a horrible thing to happen, to leave Bulgaria and go

:04:23.:04:28.

to Paris! To leave home. You missed your mum and dad, didn't you? Of

:04:29.:04:35.

course. I did not go away until I was 18. After college, you have more

:04:36.:04:41.

respect. You stayed in the Wimbledon YMCA. Nothing against that, but

:04:42.:04:47.

didn't you stay there? I stayed in different places and that was one of

:04:48.:04:55.

them. I had to save cash. We had -- we will have to put a blue plaque on

:04:56.:05:03.

it. I stayed there as well. Where were we? Serving for the set.

:05:04.:05:52.

UMPIRE: Mr Dimitrov is challenging the call. I do stand the need to

:05:53.:06:03.

come over the ball and go for it and mix it up -- I do understand.

:06:04.:06:11.

Especially with the wind. Certainly liking what he is seeing so far,

:06:12.:06:13.

Boris. Interesting on that serve, he

:06:14.:06:37.

altered his old toss because of the sun and only 95mph but got the job

:06:38.:06:44.

done. Dimitrov has got to pick it up sooner, take advantage. He backed

:06:45.:06:54.

off that shot. Once again, smart play by Novak.

:06:55.:07:20.

This is tough blustery conditions for both players. Centre Court not

:07:21.:07:27.

traditionally known for that. It is blowing a bit today. Novak Djokovic

:07:28.:07:30.

has played a faultless set. That is a rugged set of tennis from

:07:31.:07:56.

a former champion with a former champion in the box. 6-4, Djokovic.

:07:57.:08:02.

Dimitrov will have to change something here otherwise he is going

:08:03.:08:08.

to be done. We have talked about struggles... But is too harsh a word

:08:09.:08:16.

but it has been a while since Novak Djokovic has won a major. 18 months.

:08:17.:08:23.

He won the Australian in January, 2013. He plays the greatest

:08:24.:08:31.

clay-court match in the fifth at the French to Nadal. He comes to

:08:32.:08:35.

Wimbledon and losers to Andy Murray in the finals. Murray plays the

:08:36.:08:43.

tournament of his life. Goes to the Open, runner-up there. Goes to

:08:44.:08:48.

Australia, loses the quarters. Runner-up in Roland Garros. What is

:08:49.:08:55.

wrong with Novak Djokovic? He has lost it! Indian Wells, Miami and

:08:56.:09:03.

Rome, they are also pretty big ones. Just beneath the Grand Slam

:09:04.:09:08.

Championships. If someone from the ATP Tour is not going to come and

:09:09.:09:12.

arrest me for saying is not going to come and arrest me for saying when

:09:13.:09:20.

he first tired Boris Becker, he won Australia three years in a row. 25

:09:21.:09:29.

match winning streak he had. Then you come through. Boris has surgery,

:09:30.:09:40.

he is not around. Then they both go together and finally he wins with

:09:41.:09:44.

Boris in Rome and everything is starting to settle down. Then a

:09:45.:09:50.

little vacation, paid vacation perhaps.

:09:51.:11:51.

His fastest serve of the championship, 135. Great start. He

:11:52.:11:58.

will be pleased with that. This will be interesting. He has won seemingly

:11:59.:12:04.

pretty much every point on his serve. This is exactly the

:12:05.:12:10.

conditions I think that Dimitrov does not want to play in. Windy,

:12:11.:12:17.

hot. He is not completely sure if he is fit enough to deal with this guy

:12:18.:12:18.

if it goes to five. He thinks he is. This is a surprising amount of total

:12:19.:12:44.

mis-hits already. Goes to show, if you place it

:12:45.:13:33.

correctly, you do not need to hit it that hard.

:13:34.:14:19.

He hopes his decision-making process starts to improve. That was the

:14:20.:14:22.

right moment to go big there. Annoyed at himself there. He had

:14:23.:15:32.

plenty of time on that ball. 0.3 seconds. Tonnes of time!

:15:33.:15:50.

You talk about the gulf inexperience between these two. Novak Djokovic,

:15:51.:15:59.

44 titles overall. Dimitrov has four, all of which have been gained

:16:00.:16:05.

in the last nine, ten months. When Dimitrov was winning the juniors,

:16:06.:16:10.

Djokovic already a Grand Slam champion.

:16:11.:16:20.

The same can be said for the women's final tomorrow. It just

:16:21.:16:28.

appears to be counting, at the moment. On this stage, with the

:16:29.:16:34.

rarefied air that comes with the last four. It is different from the

:16:35.:16:38.

quarterfinals, it is different from the fourth round.

:16:39.:17:05.

That is the type of play we have seen more often from Dimitrov to

:17:06.:17:14.

make him think he will win numerous Grand Slams. He has got to catch the

:17:15.:17:22.

line on his own serve. He is hanging in there.

:17:23.:17:39.

These are dangerous times indeed. Djokovic is doing his best brick

:17:40.:17:47.

wall impression. He is making no mistakes. He saying, what are you

:17:48.:17:51.

going to do about it, kid? Dimitrov has never gone two sets

:17:52.:18:24.

down and won a match. This is a big set.

:18:25.:19:13.

The condition affecting him it seems almost as much as his opponent. He

:19:14.:19:19.

had better be careful here. There is that return again, the best

:19:20.:20:15.

in the business, the best ever. Really desperate times for Grigor

:20:16.:20:53.

Dimitrov. He has not settled into this match. A lot of that has been

:20:54.:20:58.

to do with the work of the former Wimbledon champion and world number

:20:59.:21:02.

one and top seed here, Novak Djokovic. Break point here in the

:21:03.:21:03.

third game of the second set. The net cord and the mis-hit from

:21:04.:21:25.

Djokovic will contribute to the sense of injustice here. It is

:21:26.:21:31.

windy, sunny, my opponent is playing well. Dimitrov is not being given a

:21:32.:21:36.

chance to express himself. He seems to be trying to force the issue a

:21:37.:21:41.

little bit too much. He has to make the plays, but I think there are

:21:42.:21:46.

times when his shot selection is not right. He is going for shots when

:21:47.:21:51.

the percentages are not in his favour. You have to pick the spots

:21:52.:21:58.

at the right time. Is it nerves? We have got to give credit to the

:21:59.:22:03.

number one seed. He is so sharp and focused and so prepared for this. He

:22:04.:22:08.

is hitting the ball incredibly well. We mentioned 19 straight first

:22:09.:22:14.

serves he hit. He controlled things. He senses, as a lot of other people

:22:15.:22:18.

do, but clearly he senses it better than anyone how wound up Dimitrov

:22:19.:22:25.

is. Confirmation of that. Second serve points one is always going to

:22:26.:22:28.

be critical area because that illustrates who is winning from the

:22:29.:22:36.

back of the court -- second serve points won. Serving 61%, Dimitrov,

:22:37.:22:41.

but he feels he is not serving that well and it is getting to him. He is

:22:42.:22:48.

23 and we are supposed to have seen a change of the guard, the big four.

:22:49.:22:57.

Nick Kyrgios beating Nadal. This is a massive test for Grigor Dimitrov.

:22:58.:23:03.

The conditions are definitely not what he wanted.

:23:04.:23:33.

SUE BARKER: On BBC Two, we are leaving Centre Court. This semifinal

:23:34.:23:43.

continues on BBC One. Here on BBC Two, we will take you to Court

:23:44.:23:48.

Number One for a semifinal in the men's's doubles. It features the

:23:49.:23:53.

Bryan brothers. They have won it all. They are looking for their 16th

:23:54.:23:58.

Grand Slam title. They are up against the French pair. It is 5-5.

:23:59.:24:06.

Let us just join our commentators, Peter Fleming and David Mercer.

:24:07.:24:12.

It has been a good recovery from the French pair. At one stage, they were

:24:13.:24:19.

4-2 down. The Bryan twins had a point to get the second point at

:24:20.:24:26.

5-2. Mike Bryan lost his serve. It was 4-4. Since then, games have gone

:24:27.:24:31.

with serve. Michael Llodra, the left-hander of the French pairing.

:24:32.:24:38.

He has had treatment on his hip. It does not seem to be bothering him

:24:39.:24:44.

too much. Having been outplayed in the first six games, they were

:24:45.:24:48.

struggling to hold serve, they have come back well, Peter. Yes, they

:24:49.:24:54.

have. They have settled in. Perhaps a little nervous to start this

:24:55.:25:04.

match, as you might expect. It is usually the case that once you get a

:25:05.:25:09.

sweat going, you get a little fatigued, the nerves disappear. Mike

:25:10.:25:22.

Bryan lost his serve last time. A little bit of pressure on him now.

:25:23.:26:05.

Mike is the right-hander of the twins. He is the older by two

:26:06.:26:09.

minutes. 36 years of age. Total mis-hit by Mahut. Quite often,

:26:10.:26:34.

that is an odd shot to deal with. A strange spin on the ball. It

:26:35.:26:38.

descended very quickly. A really good second serve from Mike

:26:39.:27:13.

Bryan. Jamming Llodra. Don't be surprised if this is the

:27:14.:27:39.

first of several tie-breaks we see today.

:27:40.:28:03.

Overhit the lobs. Good idea. Great picked up from Mike Bryan. -- pick

:28:04.:28:28.

up. To no avail. Michael Llodra won this title in

:28:29.:28:56.

2007. French have won against serve of Bob

:28:57.:29:41.

Ryan. -- Bryan. Timely. The only man out there who has not won a Grand

:29:42.:29:45.

Slam doubles title because he's been serving from the other end.

:29:46.:30:09.

He will for ever be remembered for losing that final set against John

:30:10.:30:18.

is on Court number 18. Llodra that I'm doing a little more

:30:19.:31:37.

than just freezing. -- that time. That's a bonus in the tie-break.

:31:38.:31:45.

It's time to win the point. Remarkably, four straight points

:31:46.:31:49.

against the serve in this tie-break. return nearly dissected his

:31:50.:32:36.

opponent, his partner, he thinks it might be out. Somewhat wishful

:32:37.:32:42.

thinking. Can't take those challenges with

:32:43.:32:48.

you, so why not? Pinpoint accuracy on the volley.

:32:49.:33:27.

Right on the baseline. The twins win the first set

:33:28.:34:02.

tie-breaker. 7-4. They have the lead.

:34:03.:34:05.

SUE BARKER: The Bryan brothers, so popular at Wimbledon, on their way,

:34:06.:34:10.

taking the first set tie-break. The first of the men's semifinal is

:34:11.:34:13.

taking place on Centre Court. You can watch this on BBC1. Novak

:34:14.:34:18.

Djokovic I break and set up on Grigor Dimitrov. It's all going his

:34:19.:34:22.

way on Centre Court on BBC1. On the red button, we have Paes and

:34:23.:34:38.

Stepanek at against Pospisil and Sock on the red button. That's on

:34:39.:34:43.

the red button on Court number three. Here we are heading back to

:34:44.:34:45.

Court Number One. A very interesting opens set.

:34:46.:34:58.

Winning four of the last five points of the tie-break, the Bryan

:34:59.:35:03.

brothers. Like all great teams, we are missing the twins at the moment.

:35:04.:35:09.

They have nipped off a bathroom break. It's a question of producing

:35:10.:35:14.

your best tennis when it matters most. Exactly right. That boils down

:35:15.:35:23.

to confidence. These guys have an abundance of that. Bob is married to

:35:24.:35:33.

Michelle. Mike is married to Lucille.

:35:34.:35:39.

No need for an umbrella today. They might need one tomorrow, I

:35:40.:35:46.

understand, but need a little bit of shade today.

:35:47.:35:55.

98 titles together. It's a shame it's not 99, isn't it? That would be

:35:56.:36:03.

a wonderful way to reach 100, to win Wimbledon for a fourth time. If they

:36:04.:36:08.

win here, maybe they will have to win at the U.S. Open. Maybe never

:36:09.:36:17.

try again until they get to the majors. Play with different partners

:36:18.:36:20.

through the summer for a bit of fun. LAUGHTER

:36:21.:36:46.

Lovely! The head that on a line drive

:36:47.:37:12.

trajectory, app over Llodra in a hurry. Incidentally, in case you

:37:13.:37:23.

were wondering what would have happened if Llodra's racket had hit

:37:24.:37:26.

the ball over the net, they would have still lost to the point. You do

:37:27.:37:29.

have to have a racket in your hand to count.

:37:30.:37:53.

In your previous guise, David, did you ever have to call that on

:37:54.:38:01.

anyone? No, I never did. A few strange ones. The ball going back

:38:02.:38:08.

over the net when it bounces to your side and then bounces back. You are

:38:09.:38:12.

allowed to lean over and I remember that happen to you and John playing

:38:13.:38:20.

Hewitt and McMillan. At Wimbledon. It bounced their side of the net and

:38:21.:38:25.

then it has hit back over to your side of the net. Really? It delivers

:38:26.:38:33.

better in his memory, clearly. If it was the first time we played, yes.

:38:34.:38:38.

That match has been banished! Mahut, the young man of the quartet.

:38:39.:39:42.

32. His brother is 34. His opponents, 36.

:39:43.:40:07.

Going to hit the ball through the Bryans, but a very quick hands.

:40:08.:40:16.

Better off forcing them to run. service games. A repeat of last

:40:17.:40:57.

year's French Open Men's Doubles final which the Bryan twins won on a

:40:58.:41:03.

final set tie-break, where they played the best-of-3. Year, the

:41:04.:41:12.

best-of-5, of course. -- here. Something different there from

:41:13.:41:17.

Llodra. A delicate one looking for the angle. Yes, the oft angle but he

:41:18.:41:33.

got away with it. He has made it. Squeezed down the

:41:34.:41:41.

line. UMPIRE: New balls, please. A

:41:42.:42:45.

tell-tale sign their because Llodra ordinarily very quick around the

:42:46.:42:50.

court. That time, he was pulled up to get up to the short angle, but

:42:51.:42:55.

not nearly as quickly as we might have expected him to. They are very

:42:56.:43:06.

good at using and exploiting it. The number of times they have a fairly

:43:07.:43:09.

comfortable volley at the net, rather than hitting it did, they

:43:10.:43:13.

will go for a short angle to ensure their opponents get no chance to get

:43:14.:43:18.

the ball back into play. That's because they play very close to the

:43:19.:43:25.

net. They both jump well. So, therefore, hard opponents to play.

:43:26.:43:33.

David McPherson in the middle there. The Australian coach for many a

:43:34.:43:35.

year. Once again, very difficult to get it

:43:36.:45:55.

through. Either one of the Bryan brothers.

:45:56.:46:04.

You do get a feeling he's feeling it. Right hip. Feeling a little

:46:05.:46:19.

stiff at the moment, Llodra. What acrobatics! It sets up a break

:46:20.:46:49.

point. Fantastic. It didn't look at all as though Michael was going to

:46:50.:46:56.

reach this ball. Miles away. What control. You sure don't practice

:46:57.:47:02.

those shots. Good deep second serve. And when

:47:03.:47:38.

your partner is struggling physically, you really do need to

:47:39.:47:46.

take on extra responsibility and Mahut certainly did there.

:47:47.:48:28.

Great return. Instinctively moves to cover the middle of the court. When

:48:29.:48:39.

your partner is taken wide, that's what you have to do.

:48:40.:49:00.

That was a shocking error from Llodra. It looked to be a very easy

:49:01.:49:11.

smash. Mis-hit it. The Bryans in the point. Second break point of the

:49:12.:49:15.

game. Things looking good for the

:49:16.:49:48.

defending champions, looking to win their 16th Grand Slam doubles title

:49:49.:49:52.

together. Their fourth Wimbledon, 2006. Ten and 13.

:49:53.:51:40.

First a double fault of the match from the American pair. The French

:51:41.:51:43.

have just saved one. So the chance to break back, just as

:51:44.:52:01.

they did in the first set. Played it off his knees, didn't he?

:52:02.:53:09.

On all fours. That serve had a bit of power to it.

:53:10.:54:10.

121. That is very fast. You expect to see Bob in these sorts of

:54:11.:54:15.

figures. Two break points saved, then.

:54:16.:55:01.

SUE BARKER: It's all going the Bryans way on Court Number One. We

:55:02.:55:06.

are going to leave this match on BBC Two. You can continue watching over

:55:07.:55:11.

on the red button. We will be heading off to see Jamie Murray's

:55:12.:55:15.

Mixed Doubles match at the moment but first let's update you on Centre

:55:16.:55:22.

Court where it is now tied at 1-1. Dimitrov broke back to take the

:55:23.:55:28.

second set 6-3. 1-1 in the men's semifinal. That's on BBC1. Here we

:55:29.:55:33.

are heading to court number 12 to see Jamie Murray and his Australian

:55:34.:55:38.

partner Dellacqua up against Max Mirnyi and his partner. Jamie held

:55:39.:55:43.

as opening serve so let's join it in the second game.

:55:44.:56:04.

It's nicely done. An important opening game. All four players

:56:05.:56:14.

getting used to the conditions here. Murray got a nice cold here early

:56:15.:56:22.

on. Interesting how both of the male partners are playing in the deuce

:56:23.:56:34.

court. As a matter of fact, Skupski and Broady and the team that they

:56:35.:56:40.

built last night -- beat last night... It never used to be the

:56:41.:56:48.

case, did it? No. I think they realise more points are actually

:56:49.:56:54.

played in the deuce court. It just depends which caught you feel more

:56:55.:56:58.

comfortable in. Normally, if a man plays in the right court, in Men's

:56:59.:57:06.

Doubles, stay with the position you like best. Max Mirnyi has a wealth

:57:07.:57:12.

of experience to draw upon, former world number one doubles player back

:57:13.:57:17.

in 2003. Top 20 singles player. We all tend to forget that in 2003, as

:57:18.:57:26.

well. Joint 18 in the world. Nowadays, of course, he focuses on

:57:27.:57:35.

the doubles. Run at Wimbledon in 2003. Mixed Doubles with Serena

:57:36.:57:45.

Williams in 1998. Also 2007 and 13. Still having a lot of success.

:57:46.:57:57.

That's a good call. Jamie Murray playing with Dellacqua. A very good

:57:58.:58:04.

victory on Centre Court yesterday afternoon. Jamie, in particular, was

:58:05.:58:13.

outstanding in their victory over Tecau and Mirza. They just moved a

:58:14.:58:22.

little too early there. Murray playing doubles and singles back in

:58:23.:58:27.

the day. Dellacqua still does that. She is not a doubles specialist.

:58:28.:58:32.

Ranked 12 in the world doubles. 36, a career-high, in singles.

:58:33.:58:41.

Interesting that Jamie Murray moved a little bit too soon. I'm always

:58:42.:58:49.

thinking he dodges all over the place. It's pretty hard to know what

:58:50.:58:51.

he's going to do. He got away with it. That was quite

:58:52.:59:12.

something. He is so tall. For him to be lobbed, that was almost like a

:59:13.:59:21.

carry. You're allowed to do that as long as it's one stroke.

:59:22.:59:36.

And again. That was a bad bounce. It is very windy out there today.

:59:37.:59:47.

Murray and Dellacqua have not quite started as well as they did

:59:48.:59:51.

yesterday. Of course, they are up to date against a fast the more

:59:52.:59:57.

experienced pair. As far as Mirnyi is concerned. His partner is

:59:58.:00:01.

relatively young. Chan from Chinese Taipei. Only 21 years of age. Her

:00:02.:00:07.

best results have been in the doubles, third round of the French

:00:08.:00:10.

Open in 2012, and the Australian Open earlier this year. Her sister

:00:11.:00:17.

is also a professional tennis player. They play doubles together

:00:18.:00:20.

as well but she is a little bit better. The 2007 Australian Open and

:00:21.:00:27.

the US Open. She has won ten WTA titles so I guess it might spread to

:00:28.:00:30.

other sister who has had a lot of success and you can get feedback

:00:31.:00:40.

from? I watched her sister playing at the US Open. They were playing

:00:41.:00:51.

very well. They hit quite a lot of high moon balls, almost. That seems

:00:52.:00:55.

to have gone out of the game. We will see if one side is easier to

:00:56.:01:08.

play from than the other. Good hands. They certainly seemed to

:01:09.:01:40.

really enjoy themselves on Centre Court yesterday. A lot of

:01:41.:01:44.

communication and smiles. You always play your best tennis when you are

:01:45.:01:52.

enjoying yourself. The thing about mixed on Centre Court and number one

:01:53.:01:57.

court, you have an enthusiastic audience there and if you can start

:01:58.:02:05.

off with some good tennis, the crowd is enthralled and they get so up.

:02:06.:02:09.

All of that emotion helps motivate the players.

:02:10.:02:15.

It is not quite so easy coming back down to a court without too many

:02:16.:02:21.

spectators, especially when you have got really serious matches going on

:02:22.:02:23.

that are distracting people. Of course, you have got a couple of

:02:24.:02:43.

pretty important singles matches on Centre Court today. A lot of people

:02:44.:02:47.

watching on Henman Hill on the big video screen at the side of Court

:02:48.:02:50.

Number One. This is sparsely populated for the quarterfinal

:02:51.:02:52.

match. That was a massive hit. She missed

:02:53.:03:08.

it by a mile. It is always a challenge, anyway, at Wimbledon to

:03:09.:03:13.

play one match on Centre Court with all of the incredible on beyond this

:03:14.:03:19.

and then to come back down to an outside court -- incredible and

:03:20.:03:40.

beyond. That is a good hold. Chan played with her sister in Eastbourne

:03:41.:03:43.

and they won that tournament. Really good effort. They have won a couple

:03:44.:03:50.

of moments Bill tournaments this year. The Malaysian Open as well.

:03:51.:04:01.

When the wind blows, it costs strongly from the left to the right

:04:02.:04:07.

of our picture. That could be in! I was just going to say, she would

:04:08.:04:12.

have had plenty of practice in Eastbourne with the wind. But this

:04:13.:04:17.

year, it was beautiful. Normally it is very windy on the coast. They can

:04:18.:04:26.

get fierce breezes there. I am not sure breeze is the operative word!

:04:27.:04:33.

That is how we British would describe it. Howling gale. Today it

:04:34.:04:37.

is very gusty. There are patches when it is still.

:04:38.:04:45.

Murray is a former champion at Wimbledon in 2007. Reached the final

:04:46.:04:53.

of the US Open the following season as well.

:04:54.:05:08.

That is not what he wanted. Watching him play mixed with Liezel Huber,

:05:09.:05:19.

she likes to give instructions to her partner. As I suggested, he

:05:20.:05:25.

dodges this way and that way and chases. She was getting so

:05:26.:05:31.

frustrated with him. Like, that is my boat! You have to run for that!

:05:32.:05:42.

-- that is my ball. But they seem to be perfectly happy.

:05:43.:05:57.

Too bad! Everything went wrong for him in that. The one time he hit

:05:58.:06:06.

exactly the right shot, it hit the tape.

:06:07.:06:31.

It has been a good start by both pairs, particularly Mirnyi and Chan.

:06:32.:06:39.

Yesterday it was so obvious Murray really excels in the role of

:06:40.:06:44.

dominating as far as doubles players are concerned. He is finding it

:06:45.:06:48.

difficult today to find the same energy, the same timing, the same

:06:49.:06:51.

dominance in very different conditions. I tell you, towards the

:06:52.:07:00.

end of the second week of Wimbledon, when the courts are

:07:01.:07:05.

really dry and they can be also a little bit slick because the grass

:07:06.:07:10.

has burnt, especially as it has been baking hot the last few days, you

:07:11.:07:14.

can have a terrible time getting into a match, especially if it is

:07:15.:07:19.

blowing seriously. It is just one of those things. I guess you have to

:07:20.:07:25.

try and get a lot of first serves in and get up to the net so you are not

:07:26.:07:31.

skating around on the baseline. But very often rallies are not very

:07:32.:07:40.

long. I saw Judy Murray around before so I am sure she is watching

:07:41.:07:43.

someone. Yeah, I do see her. He went the right way, down the

:07:44.:08:22.

middle. There was a gap. There is Judy Murray. She has made a point of

:08:23.:08:25.

supporting Jamie over Andy almost. We saw a little bit of the skill

:08:26.:08:43.

that Max Mirnyi has on his backhand side. Very powerful shot. Just a

:08:44.:08:49.

little bit of lift. Pretty flat ball. Unusual.

:08:50.:09:05.

Everybody knows how good Max Mirnyi is that doubles. We tend to forget

:09:06.:09:10.

he was such a consistent performer in the singles. In the top 57

:09:11.:09:17.

straight years in the early 2000s. He has played with a lot of

:09:18.:09:21.

different doubles players including Jamie Murray. These two will know

:09:22.:09:23.

each other's games well. Once again, Jamie got a little

:09:24.:09:46.

unlucky. The net cord. Mirnyi and Chan have been rock solid so far.

:09:47.:09:51.

They have built a sizeable lead midway through this opening set.

:09:52.:09:59.

Yeah, I think that might have been a fault. They don't have Hawk-Eye

:10:00.:10:07.

here. He did not really hit it properly, that return. Well, I'm

:10:08.:10:15.

surprised the umpire did not make an overall because she likes to get

:10:16.:10:23.

into the act. That is a very sensible return. She is hitting into

:10:24.:10:27.

the wind and using the wind to allow the ball to be drawn back into the

:10:28.:10:33.

court. Very intelligent shot. She is playing well. I am quite impressed.

:10:34.:10:39.

Of course, Casey Dellacqua is a good doubles player. Lost in the second

:10:40.:11:22.

round of the singles to Agnieszka Radwanska in this championship. Lost

:11:23.:11:29.

in the quarterfinals of the doubles to be second seeds. A former

:11:30.:11:30.

finalist here, 2013. Might have gone out. Casey Dellacqua

:11:31.:11:48.

is an excellent doubles player. Plays so well with her partner. They

:11:49.:11:57.

really combine well. But they had to play a very tough team.

:11:58.:12:06.

Yes, she is very ably supporting Max Mirnyi in this opening set. Striking

:12:07.:12:27.

the ball with real purpose which is not easy given the breezy

:12:28.:12:33.

conditions. It is probably an advantage for her with Compaq swings

:12:34.:12:43.

-- compact swings. Fittingly ball so flat with next to no backswing.

:12:44.:12:47.

Trouble happens in the wind when you take a nice big swing and you go to

:12:48.:12:52.

hit the ball and the ball is not worth it was supposed to be because

:12:53.:12:56.

the wind has moved it -- the ball is not where it was supposed to be. She

:12:57.:13:01.

is compensating well for that. It is funny, I don't know how much... We

:13:02.:13:06.

are think of the Australians being able to cope with the wind because

:13:07.:13:10.

there are so many windy conditions down there. Also the Floridians get

:13:11.:13:15.

plenty of wind to practice in. I have no idea what playing conditions

:13:16.:13:23.

are like in Chinese Taipei or China for that matter. Obviously, they

:13:24.:13:31.

have a lot of rain. Serving for the opening set.

:13:32.:13:51.

It is not like they really fluid service action. But she gets good

:13:52.:14:02.

placement on both of her first and second serves.

:14:03.:14:27.

She played in the lady doubles with her sister but lost in the first

:14:28.:14:33.

round. That is well played. When he is

:14:34.:14:50.

active at the net like that, he plays his best tennis. Nice. So

:14:51.:14:58.

close to the net. Sometimes get a little jammed when you are sitting

:14:59.:15:03.

on the net like that. Doesn't matter what you are used to.

:15:04.:15:12.

I have watched her practice a lot of times. -- him practice. He gets his

:15:13.:15:26.

coach to fireballs at him. That is why his reactions are quite good.

:15:27.:15:34.

But has not got his timing so far. There is another excellent serve,

:15:35.:15:38.

two inches from the line, into the body. It has been an excellent set

:15:39.:15:45.

of tennis by both Max Mirnyi and Chan.

:15:46.:16:04.

She had plenty of time. Surely you have got to lob Dellacqua. Maybe she

:16:05.:16:17.

thought he would be dashing over to the other side of the net. She got

:16:18.:16:23.

tied up in the shot Jamie hit which was difficult to handle.

:16:24.:16:42.

Too good. That was an excellent set of tennis. They combined beautifully

:16:43.:16:54.

together. Often you can look on paper and suggest players can play

:16:55.:17:01.

well together, but Mirnyi and Chan did. Well,

:17:02.:17:24.

well together, but Mirnyi and Chan On Centre Court, it is 3-3 in the

:17:25.:17:27.

third set. Dimitrov with a break point. You can watch the semifinal

:17:28.:17:35.

on BBC One. That is on Centre Court on BBC One. A match we were watching

:17:36.:17:41.

on BBC Two out on Court Number One, the Bryan brothers. They are two

:17:42.:17:48.

sets to love up and a break of serve. That is the score on Court

:17:49.:17:54.

Number One. The Bryan brothers in control. That matches on the

:17:55.:18:01.

Number One. The Bryan brothers in heading back to court number 12.

:18:02.:18:04.

A lot of work for Murray and Dellacqua to do here. Whose

:18:05.:18:10.

responsibility is that? Is it very much down to the mail to say, we

:18:11.:18:10.

responsibility is that? Is it very need to change selling? Do both

:18:11.:18:14.

players take responsibility? -- is it up to the man to say, we need to

:18:15.:18:20.

change something? It happens that the wind is very helpful to

:18:21.:18:25.

Murray's serve. It is not so helpful to Dellacqua because with her

:18:26.:18:34.

left-handed serve, she is having to go right into the wind.

:18:35.:18:36.

Just as I said that, that is one of the issues, when the wind is sort of

:18:37.:18:45.

behind you, the second serves. That is the perfect serve. He used

:18:46.:19:01.

the wind well. He has served that every single time. Swinging it out

:19:02.:19:07.

wide. Gathering speed as it cuts across the court. Just to make

:19:08.:19:14.

matters worse, that is rubbing salt into the wound.

:19:15.:19:27.

The volley from Jamie did not too much on it. That

:19:28.:19:36.

The volley from Jamie did not was such a good return.

:19:37.:20:15.

It was a wonderful return from Mirnyi in the first place. How

:20:16.:20:24.

clever of her to scoop that back. Big trouble here.

:20:25.:20:32.

A little apology from Jamie, but it was the right shot to play. The

:20:33.:20:40.

return you are always looking for, the little chip that floats, makes

:20:41.:20:46.

the volley very easy. Break point saved.

:20:47.:20:56.

It looked too easy that one. What happened was the wind made the ball

:20:57.:21:08.

drop on Chan. You have always got to keep the feet moving when it is

:21:09.:21:11.

windy. She was a little static there.

:21:12.:21:30.

Not quite serving with the same ferocity of yesterday. I guess that

:21:31.:21:36.

is one of the adjustments you have to make when it is very windy. Take

:21:37.:21:41.

place off the serve, make sure you get a higher percentage of first

:21:42.:21:48.

serves in. This team would have... I am sorry, Mirnyi and Chan would have

:21:49.:21:57.

chosen... The others chose to serve first. These chose the side. Mirnyi

:21:58.:22:04.

can power his way through the wind as a right-hander. So they chose

:22:05.:22:12.

which side was good for them. I don't think it was the best side for

:22:13.:22:14.

Murray and Dellacqua. Discussion about where Mirnyi is

:22:15.:22:45.

going to serve, what Chan might do in terms of her movements. That was

:22:46.:22:53.

a good call as well. Who normally decides, Virginia? Is it the server

:22:54.:23:01.

or the player at the net? Usually the server because you get a feel so

:23:02.:23:07.

you explain to your partner where you are serving and they know what

:23:08.:23:13.

to expect. That is a lovely shot! I think that is the best shot of the

:23:14.:23:14.

match. left at the net. That was definitely

:23:15.:23:32.

Dellacqua's best shot. Maybe she is beginning to feel the ball now.

:23:33.:23:38.

Almost came in! Nice powerful serve. 112mph. A lot of top-spin. The

:23:39.:23:52.

courts are nice and firm. The ball really getting up on Dellacqua.

:23:53.:23:59.

Tough to control. Having the women in the left court, it has not been

:24:00.:24:04.

easy for them. Everyone is serving pretty well into the left court.

:24:05.:24:10.

Chan stands nearly as close to the net as Jamie Murray does. That is

:24:11.:24:19.

why! Macs will tell her, I have got the lob, you concentrate on the

:24:20.:24:24.

central channel. That was good doubles. -- Max.

:24:25.:24:38.

She should have done better with the first volley. She got away with it

:24:39.:25:00.

because she hit an excellent second volley. Really good reactions. That

:25:01.:25:10.

was an important game. This has been the problem for Murray and

:25:11.:25:11.

Dellacqua, hers serve. That worked. Better serve. Her

:25:12.:25:25.

strength is really being negated by the way the wind is.

:25:26.:25:36.

Nice move. Dellacqua has had success in Mixed Doubles in the past. Won

:25:37.:25:46.

the French Open in 2011 with Scott Lipsky. She has been runner-up in

:25:47.:25:50.

the women's doubles at Wimbledon. She knows what is required. I think

:25:51.:25:59.

she is a deceptively good doubles player. We have seen very good

:26:00.:26:06.

service came from her here. It is not like she serves bullets.

:26:07.:27:07.

get this second set under way. That is why the communication is so

:27:08.:27:10.

important in doubles. If you do not start as well as you would want, you

:27:11.:27:16.

have got to build each other's confidence up. Absolutely. That is

:27:17.:27:22.

the first time she has held serve. She served better, a lot of good

:27:23.:27:28.

first serves. She mixed it up. Some into the body. Nothing wrong with

:27:29.:27:29.

those percentages. into the body. Nothing wrong with

:27:30.:27:32.

those That is what you are aiming for. You do not want to do -- what

:27:33.:27:38.

you do not want to do in doubles is serve second serves.

:27:39.:27:42.

you do not want to do in doubles is Well, you can see that Murray and

:27:43.:27:53.

Dellacqua... Exposing second serves quite erratically. I think in

:27:54.:27:59.

general most players take a little bit off their first serve and try to

:28:00.:28:02.

get a higher percentage of first serves in in doubles.

:28:03.:28:43.

It is a good smash. Not easy from that deep in the court. Look at the

:28:44.:28:52.

footwork, moving all of the time. Breezy conditions, very important.

:28:53.:28:56.

Watch the ball like a hawk and a little bit of spin. Perfectly

:28:57.:28:59.

placed. Looking right into the sun. does that. Very good hands from Max

:29:00.:30:02.

Mirnyi. Dellacqua was all over that. does that. Very good hands from Max

:30:03.:30:08.

Mirnyi. Dellacqua was all It's the ball in the right place, and flips

:30:09.:30:11.

it over her head. Superb game, that. I must say, she

:30:12.:30:30.

has excelled on serve in the match, because they have combined so well,

:30:31.:30:36.

a high percentage of first serves in, not allowed them much look at

:30:37.:30:41.

the second serve. Mirnyi has been dominant at the net.

:30:42.:30:47.

I like Mirnyi's attitude. He really pays full attention all the time.

:30:48.:30:59.

Thinking what he's doing, he is creative, his is good. -- his reflex

:31:00.:31:09.

is good. A gold medallist in the Olympics. That why held here, in

:31:10.:31:17.

Wimbledon. With Victoria Azarenka. That is right. A very proud member

:31:18.:31:24.

of the Belarus team, carried the flag in the opening ceremony, very

:31:25.:31:26.

highly regarded back home. There have been a handful of those

:31:27.:31:40.

already today, does not quite have the feel on the second serve that he

:31:41.:31:42.

would want. Murray and Mirnyi played a bit of

:31:43.:31:59.

doubles together a few seasons ago, but did not enjoy a lot of success.

:32:00.:32:03.

On paper, you would think they would, but they never really gelled.

:32:04.:32:10.

Certainly got a good horse without any spin on it. -- toss. I think

:32:11.:32:23.

that Mr game. I think Judy will be... Sunburned.

:32:24.:33:03.

That is sure, but she will also be delighted with the start Jamie and

:33:04.:33:10.

Casey have made in the second set. Nice the Jamie to have Judy as a

:33:11.:33:16.

mother, of course, and an experienced tennis coach. She can

:33:17.:33:19.

watch a match like this and then give you some feedback. Absolutely,

:33:20.:33:24.

she is a very good coach. She has been checking them out since they

:33:25.:33:28.

were knee-high to a grasshopper. They were very young when they

:33:29.:33:34.

started. I saw both the boys when they were very young playing, and

:33:35.:33:39.

they were so eager. They just wanted to be on the court all the time. Of

:33:40.:33:45.

course, they were very good. When they were the height of the net.

:33:46.:33:53.

They enjoyed it. It was always Jamie who was supposed to be the one, the

:33:54.:33:58.

older one, who was going to be the star.

:33:59.:34:12.

That was a fabulous lob. Just enough top-spin on that.

:34:13.:34:24.

Just perfect, she is using the wind exactly right, giving it a little

:34:25.:34:28.

more loft. This is the half chance that Murray

:34:29.:34:47.

and Dellacqua have been searching for.

:34:48.:35:05.

That was not an easy volley, as a matter of fact. It looked easy, it

:35:06.:35:12.

was shoulder height, but the wind was just holding it. Very easy to

:35:13.:35:20.

reach that ball and dump it in the net. A solid shot.

:35:21.:35:30.

Oh yes. Superb hands from Murray. Just a little slip at the most

:35:31.:35:41.

inopportune moment gave Chan no chance. Success with the previous

:35:42.:35:51.

lob, that was a superb blog as well. It it nicely, but right onto the

:35:52.:36:00.

reflex volley from Jamie. The half chance has turned into a golden

:36:01.:36:01.

opportunity here. Two break points. The umpire has overruled that, the

:36:02.:36:12.

line judge called it good initially. Just motoring along on his serve,

:36:13.:36:46.

Max Mirnyi. And suddenly, you miss a couple, you try a bit too much for

:36:47.:36:49.

things go wrong like that slip. Casey Dellacqua has got better. Max

:36:50.:37:06.

Mirnyi has gone off a little bit. Good footwork. Starting to cover the

:37:07.:37:33.

caught a little better now. A couple of great stretches from the two of

:37:34.:37:35.

them. A solid backhand return, wasn't it?

:37:36.:37:59.

It it so well, so firmly. Jamie suggesting that was a great

:38:00.:38:29.

serve, and it was. It had pace, spin and accuracy, lovely combination.

:38:30.:38:53.

How quickly things can change. In the opening set it was Mirnyi and

:38:54.:39:18.

Chan who were dominating, Murray and Dellacqua. A few little slips from

:39:19.:39:29.

the opposition, and she has taken advantage. She is pulling it all

:39:30.:39:37.

together. Jamie is liking that, you can show off at the net. He loves to

:39:38.:39:45.

stretch and dive. It is his strength, we did not see much of it

:39:46.:39:49.

in the opening set. Served a couple of doubles and therefore he was not

:39:50.:39:53.

able to express himself as freely as he has been able in the last 15-20

:39:54.:39:55.

minutes or so. Very different scenario for Chan.

:39:56.:40:14.

Having served out the opening set, she needs to hold here in the

:40:15.:40:15.

second. The wind did not keep that in that

:40:16.:40:28.

time. Got away from him. The wheels have

:40:29.:41:45.

really started to come off in the second set for Mirnyi and Chan. In

:41:46.:41:50.

conditions like this it is very difficult to work yourself back into

:41:51.:41:58.

points. Rapid-fire and over quickly, the points.

:41:59.:42:41.

Good footwork. UMPIRE: New balls, please.

:42:42.:43:03.

This is the moment of truth, as far as Jamie Murray is concerned.

:43:04.:43:12.

Serving to take us into a decider, and he has the advantage of new

:43:13.:43:14.

balls in hand. Well played. Always an option, to

:43:15.:43:33.

smash right down the middle of the court. Didn't really see the ball

:43:34.:43:40.

moving around in that rally. Very ambitious shot, the return from

:43:41.:43:45.

Chan. A very good picked up by Jamie. It

:43:46.:44:50.

was being half volleyed up a little, the ball did not have much

:44:51.:44:55.

pace on it. He took his time and found his mark.

:44:56.:45:08.

Yes, did not quite moved the feet. Dellacqua knew it as soon as she had

:45:09.:45:17.

missed the shot. Keep on your toes, step into that. As opposed to moving

:45:18.:45:24.

back. You can just tell how difficult it is, the wind behind

:45:25.:45:25.

you. Expecting the ball to come to you

:45:26.:45:31.

and it is not there. They have worked hard in the second

:45:32.:45:55.

set, for this advantage. A chance to take us into a decider.

:45:56.:46:03.

That will do nicely. Much better set of tennis from Murray and Dellacqua.

:46:04.:46:14.

SUE BARKER: They had a spring in their step. Jamie Murray one that

:46:15.:46:23.

title in 2007. We will be be joining that match in just a moment. Over on

:46:24.:46:28.

BBC1, currently enjoying Centre Court, the men's semifinal. Add

:46:29.:46:35.

4:30pm it is over to the World Cup, quarterfinal between France and

:46:36.:46:42.

Germany. Later on tonight, the host Brazil take on Colombia. You can

:46:43.:46:47.

hear that on radio five live. It is tennis all the way on BBC Two. We

:46:48.:46:52.

will keep you up-to-date with what is happening on Centre Court. At the

:46:53.:46:57.

moment Novak Djokovic has just taken the third set to lead 2-1. He took

:46:58.:47:06.

the tie-break to 7-2. Did the draft has held the opening service game,

:47:07.:47:12.

the first game of the fourth set. On the red button, on Court One it is

:47:13.:47:18.

Naomi Broady and Neal Skupski. They are starting their quarterfinal.

:47:19.:47:24.

That match is on the red button. Plenty of tennis to enjoy here

:47:25.:47:28.

today. We are heading back to court 12.

:47:29.:47:38.

Jamie has not left Casey all on her own to fend for herself in this

:47:39.:47:45.

deciding set. Judy will be well sure, I think, that he has gone to

:47:46.:47:55.

the toilet. He has to go with an official, to make sure Judy does not

:47:56.:48:00.

mix down and give him any coaching. That is not allowed. That is why an

:48:01.:48:04.

official goes with him, to make sure all is OK. A lot better in that

:48:05.:48:10.

second set, I'm sure Judy will be delighted. She will be aware that

:48:11.:48:14.

Jamie was out of sorts in the first set. He is the dominant force in

:48:15.:48:20.

that pairing. Back to his best in the second set, playing aggressive

:48:21.:48:25.

tennis. KC, as a result was able to hold more effectively, hold serve

:48:26.:48:34.

more comfortably. -- Casey. Now they have the momentum as we head into

:48:35.:48:36.

the deciding set. This is an important service game.

:48:37.:48:52.

Max Mirnyi attempting to assert his authority.

:48:53.:49:10.

Pummelling Chan. She held on very well until the branch was too much

:49:11.:49:18.

for her. -- morale the court does get a little dusty at

:49:19.:49:30.

this stage in the Championships. That could have been a bit of a

:49:31.:49:52.

shambles. Especially as the wind was moving

:49:53.:50:15.

the ball over towards Chan. She did well to take some evasive action.

:50:16.:50:20.

Yes, that is when you really need to have some big first serves.

:50:21.:50:31.

They have definitely decided to go after Chan lately. She has had to

:50:32.:50:46.

deal with some very tricky shots. That was a good smash. Murray might

:50:47.:51:18.

have missed a trick there, it was a sensational return from Dellacqua.

:51:19.:51:21.

You would have fully expected him to go there, trying to make the

:51:22.:51:26.

interception. Perhaps he was stunned by the pace of the return, not quite

:51:27.:51:29.

ready for quick enough to do so. Thank you, Partner, I have done

:51:30.:51:38.

enough. It was a better game, even though he

:51:39.:52:11.

did not make as many first serves as he would want. Combined nicely

:52:12.:52:19.

together. A sizeable crowd now, out on court 12. I think word has got

:52:20.:52:24.

around that Jamie Murray is in action, and plenty have made their

:52:25.:52:30.

way down here. The southern end of Wimbledon. Just to give the player

:52:31.:52:34.

support. They might have come off Court One where Bob Bryan and Mike

:52:35.:52:41.

Bryan were playing. A British team on Court One as well. I think that

:52:42.:52:48.

is a good theory. They have just found their way here, a much better

:52:49.:52:49.

theory. Trailing serve. Very clever serve, swinging left,

:52:50.:53:09.

curved into the body. Used that serve a lot against Mirnyi.

:53:10.:53:30.

Superb return. Such a big difference when you do get a look at a second

:53:31.:53:40.

serve, it gives you a bit more time. It with the same amount of pace, and

:53:41.:53:44.

you have a much more aggressive mindset, always looking to attack.

:53:45.:53:49.

If you time it well, you give your team a great opportunity.

:53:50.:54:02.

You see, when you are a right-hander and a lefty is slicing the ball, you

:54:03.:54:09.

are happier hitting it with a backhand than you are trying to run

:54:10.:54:12.

around and hit it with your forehand. A little bit of trouble

:54:13.:54:13.

here. What a difference a first serve

:54:14.:54:19.

makes. Look how good that backhand return

:54:20.:55:02.

is. A singular shop, that one, from Max Mirnyi. I have seen it so many

:55:03.:55:08.

times. They have carved out an opportunity to break here.

:55:09.:55:38.

Mirnyi was everywhere there, wasn't he?

:55:39.:55:46.

Chan certainly played her part, returning well throughout that

:55:47.:55:52.

game. They combined together beautifully and deserve this early

:55:53.:55:57.

lead. It was really Max Mirnyi who spoiled the party. For Jamie and

:55:58.:56:00.

Casey right there, great play. What a shot. Perfectly played.

:56:01.:56:22.

Getting the wind just right. It looked like it might be going long,

:56:23.:56:29.

and then it cold about six inches from the baseline. -- it curled.

:56:30.:56:43.

He was just defending himself there, really. Did well to make the volley.

:56:44.:56:47.

It was a powerful return. They have really stepped up, Mirnyi

:56:48.:57:13.

and Chan. Mirnyi has been chasing and dodging all over the place,

:57:14.:57:17.

wanting to get his racket on every single ball. Chan seemed to catch

:57:18.:57:20.

the fever. What an outstanding start Mirnyi and

:57:21.:57:49.

Chan have made. Doubles, it is so important to try and gain momentum,

:57:50.:57:53.

and when you have it, if you can play quickly between points and hold

:57:54.:57:58.

serve comfortably. Like the Bryan brothers, it can make a world of

:57:59.:58:04.

difference. It is very different, in doubles. One team can be playing

:58:05.:58:09.

really well and they can tighten up a little bit, the other team gets

:58:10.:58:14.

into it... I am not sure in this case, Mirnyi and Chan, if they let

:58:15.:58:21.

up in the second set. It was a whole bunch of Ord shop -- board shots.

:58:22.:58:30.

They definitely did go off a bit. The other two got energised. Now it

:58:31.:58:39.

is them full of energy. Plenty of matches in all the outside courts at

:58:40.:58:41.

this stage of the championship. Juniors, seniors, former champions.

:58:42.:58:54.

The Men's Doubles semis, Paes and Stepanek, and yet another Canadian,

:58:55.:59:46.

what is the story with all of these Canadians?

:59:47.:59:53.

Pospisil is a very good player. Reached the semifinals of the mass

:59:54.:59:59.

does 1000 series last year in Montr?al but he has been injured for

:00:00.:00:00.

a long time. That is one of the nicest features

:00:01.:00:22.

of the Grand Slam, the junior event. You can always get a quick heads up

:00:23.:00:25.

as to who will do well in the future.

:00:26.:00:30.

It was obvious who show was going to be a sensational senior when she

:00:31.:00:37.

played in the juniors. -- it was obvious Bouchard was going to be a

:00:38.:00:50.

sensational senior. That gives Murray and Dellacqua a fighting

:00:51.:00:51.

chance in this deciding set. That is her job in a situation like

:00:52.:01:19.

this, to take that return down the centre away from Murray.

:01:20.:01:41.

It has been very much a matter, this match, of one team playing better

:01:42.:01:49.

than the other, and then reversing that. It definitely takes two teams.

:01:50.:01:57.

We have not had both teams playing really well at the same time.

:01:58.:02:04.

She missed one! It is a shame, she made a good call earlier. It is

:02:05.:02:17.

important to communicate with your partner as those lobster or up and

:02:18.:02:20.

she took evasive action, ducking, moving, changing. -- ASBOs lobs go

:02:21.:02:33.

up. -- as those lobs go up. Her body language has been so good as well.

:02:34.:02:39.

Very pumped up, especially in this deciding set. Often it is the male

:02:40.:02:45.

player that does most of that. But she has been great. She has been

:02:46.:02:51.

willing to go after balls which are not even necessarily hers. What a

:02:52.:03:04.

serve. Best serve he has produced. I think her attitude and the quality

:03:05.:03:07.

of her tennis is allowing Mirnyi to relax a little bit and go for it a

:03:08.:03:12.

little more. Putting less pressure on him when his partner is playing a

:03:13.:03:18.

little better. He has always had a big serve. Nice and tall, but we

:03:19.:03:22.

have seen very few of those ones. The kick-serve can work well, it can

:03:23.:03:34.

get up nice and high, especially in breezy conditions like this. It

:03:35.:03:42.

moves more in the air. That one was difficult to read because his toss

:03:43.:03:46.

was a little bit over to the left and it looked like he could just not

:03:47.:03:53.

flatten it right out. The winners of this match will play Daniel Nestor

:03:54.:04:00.

and M Donna Vekic. The lob held up a little bit in the

:04:01.:04:57.

wind, he was at full stretch trying to get that Lobb. Well done.

:04:58.:05:31.

That second serve can really embarrass you on your return.

:05:32.:05:42.

Big difference when you can jam Mirnyi on the forehand side rather

:05:43.:05:51.

than giving him a backhand return. Easy game.

:05:52.:06:04.

That reduces the arrears. But time is running out. For Murray and

:06:05.:06:16.

Dellacqua. This is the big game isn't it? Yes, a break here would be

:06:17.:06:19.

just what the doctor ordered. Good move, wasn't it? It was so low

:06:20.:06:38.

at the net, the return. Superbly timed. Just set off so Murray could

:06:39.:06:43.

not change his mind in terms of the direction of the return. It is

:06:44.:06:44.

always key. The crowd doing their level best to

:06:45.:07:14.

get right behind Murray and Dellacqua. Still, Dellacqua has

:07:15.:07:20.

really figured out the problems that Chan house. When the ball comes

:07:21.:07:26.

straight at her and she is square on.

:07:27.:07:40.

Some nice variation from Mirnyi. He crossed initially on the first point

:07:41.:07:47.

and he gave Murray the fake and stayed. Nice and active in the

:07:48.:07:48.

forecourt. So deep. No way Chan could hit it,

:07:49.:08:31.

could hit an offensive shop there. This is a big point. -- an offensive

:08:32.:08:35.

shot. Just ran through the ball, never

:08:36.:08:46.

really steadied himself. He has got the wind at his back so if you do

:08:47.:08:50.

not time that, the ball will just fly at you. He would love a do over

:08:51.:08:53.

there. That was an important miss. That was a better serve from her

:08:54.:09:10.

when she really needed it. Chan is quite vocal out there. Width

:09:11.:09:31.

she wants this match badly. She has made a high percentage of first

:09:32.:09:35.

serves when it really mattered. It has put pressure on the opposition.

:09:36.:09:40.

It means Mirnyi can really move. He can fake and influence play at the

:09:41.:09:47.

net which is so important. They really have communicated

:09:48.:09:48.

exceptionally well together. Mirnyi has done it all before at the

:09:49.:10:04.

very highest level. Understands exactly what is required in a

:10:05.:10:10.

situation like this. And of course Judy Murray will be a little

:10:11.:10:16.

disappointed, Jamie has not been able to play just that little bit

:10:17.:10:19.

better today. They are serving to stay in the match.

:10:20.:10:34.

A lot of slipping and sliding going on.

:10:35.:10:57.

Oh my goodness! Two superb ground strokes. She has really grown in

:10:58.:11:05.

confidence throughout the match. She has got the adrenaline flowing. That

:11:06.:11:07.

was not an easy shot. Chan might say, I am glad I did not

:11:08.:12:17.

have that shot because that could have taken me out with an overhead

:12:18.:12:18.

like that. Out. She went for it. Still a very positive game from

:12:19.:12:43.

Mirnyi in particular and Chan. At the beginning of the match, if you

:12:44.:12:46.

had said to them, we will get you a game away from victory with Max

:12:47.:12:52.

serving, would you take that? They would have bitten your hand. -- bit

:12:53.:12:56.

in your hand off. The toss was a little low on that

:12:57.:13:09.

one. The advantage of serving with the

:13:10.:13:28.

new balls and he knows Murray's game well. Sensible tennis under

:13:29.:13:32.

pressure. It is brilliant. She was ready and

:13:33.:13:52.

waiting. She would have been forgiven not to know that this ball

:13:53.:13:59.

was on its way. Jamie Murray was very quick across the net. He hit a

:14:00.:14:05.

beautiful shot actually. Only two more points needed.

:14:06.:14:17.

A lovely first volley from Mirnyi. Again, great teamwork throughout the

:14:18.:14:22.

course of this service game. That is good tennis. Delight for

:14:23.:14:45.

Mirnyi and Chan. Outplaying Murray and Dellacqua today. And they are

:14:46.:14:50.

safely through to the semifinals here at Wimbledon. By virtue of that

:14:51.:14:58.

3-set victory. Virginia, deservedly so. I thought they played very well.

:14:59.:15:10.

Max Mirnyi is a superb doubles player and we know that but Chan was

:15:11.:15:17.

the revelation. Very impressive. I have not watched him play before. I

:15:18.:15:21.

cannot believe that. When she is as good as she is. It is Dellacqua and

:15:22.:15:28.

Murray who are beaten in three sets today and it is Mirnyi and Chan who

:15:29.:15:32.

are safely through to the final format. SUE BARKER: just like his

:15:33.:15:39.

brother, Andy, Jamie goes out at the quarterfinal stage. That is the end

:15:40.:15:43.

of the much on court 12. Plenty of tennis going on elsewhere.

:15:44.:16:15.

Let's round up a few results. Plenty happening today. The number two

:16:16.:16:24.

seeds in the doubles are through to their first Wimbledon final.

:16:25.:16:43.

They will meet Babbitt and Mladenovic.

:16:44.:16:57.

The Bryan brothers, they won in straight sets. Beating Michael

:16:58.:17:03.

Llodra and Mahut. They will meet the unseeded pair,

:17:04.:17:21.

Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock. A Canadian-USA combination. They

:17:22.:17:27.

defeated Radek Stepanek and Leander Paes.

:17:28.:17:43.

British interest in the boys's singles ended today.

:17:44.:17:55.

We are heading to Court Number One to see Skupski and Broady in this

:17:56.:18:03.

quarterfinal match of the Mixed Doubles and our commentators are Sam

:18:04.:18:07.

Smith and Nick Martin 's. COMMENTATOR: Having got them back

:18:08.:18:17.

into this quarterfinal set, they lost their first service game at the

:18:18.:18:22.

beginning and then broke back in the previous game. Putting some pressure

:18:23.:18:26.

back on the service game of Naomi Broady.

:18:27.:18:57.

NICK MULLINS: They have been the dominant pair in this match so far.

:18:58.:19:19.

SAM SMITH: Yes he has not got the necessary speed but he is or was in

:19:20.:19:20.

the right position. She is a very handy player. The most

:19:21.:19:55.

experienced of the four on court today. Qureshi.

:19:56.:20:08.

It is a different match now, it really is. Skupski and Broady did

:20:09.:20:14.

start rather sluggishly, rather slowly, they are up against a player

:20:15.:20:18.

who is difficult to break down. When six foot two Broady connects,

:20:19.:21:13.

she really connects. Lovely timing there.

:21:14.:22:31.

If they are right with this challenge, that is the set.

:22:32.:22:42.

But is about one and a half blades of finely trimmed grass.

:22:43.:22:53.

I think those who applauded did not hear the fault call.

:22:54.:23:45.

A trail of vapour left in the wake of that tennis court. They are both

:23:46.:23:54.

hitting the ball well, timing it beautifully.

:23:55.:24:15.

Faced with 115 mph. When it really comes to it, the guys have no

:24:16.:24:26.

problems acing the women these days. The call of late came too late. If

:24:27.:24:48.

she had let that carry on travelling, it would have been over

:24:49.:24:52.

on the front practice courts of the park!

:24:53.:25:02.

J are getting complicated. -- they are getting complicated.

:25:03.:25:23.

This match is just starting to come to the boil. We have had three

:25:24.:25:41.

successive breaks of serve. And we go and they really are starting to

:25:42.:25:45.

rekindle the energy and excitement we had on this court yesterday

:25:46.:25:50.

evening. The pair of them, you suspect, still glowing after the

:25:51.:25:54.

third round victory. They came from a set down to beat Mergea and

:25:55.:26:01.

Svitolina. Extraordinary, dramatic conclusion. That involved their

:26:02.:26:07.

opponents fending off eight match points and their service game. A

:26:08.:26:13.

game that lasted ten minutes before Neal Skupski stepped up and thought,

:26:14.:26:17.

enough is enough and he ended it on his service game. They really raised

:26:18.:26:21.

the roof and they were packed in here yesterday evening and number

:26:22.:26:28.

one court. There is the family box. Older brother to the left of the

:26:29.:26:35.

picture. In the centre, is the man in charge of all the doubles plays

:26:36.:26:39.

and also the It is Skupski serving to stay in

:26:40.:26:54.

this first set of the quarterfinal. One of the features of the match so

:26:55.:27:25.

far has been returning of Vera Dushevina.

:27:26.:27:46.

Not so many frills with Usher Vina, she keeps it simple and predictable

:27:47.:28:02.

but she is solid. She did lay the racket head back

:28:03.:28:32.

slightly on a second look there, that could have gone anywhere.

:28:33.:28:59.

Here once again are more set points for Qureshi and Dushevina. She is

:29:00.:29:09.

either tired or she cannot look! I suspect it might be the former!

:29:10.:29:45.

ball bounce. Coming from the third round yesterday evening, Neal

:29:46.:29:50.

Skupski and I only Brodie have to come from behind in the

:29:51.:29:51.

quarterfinal. Good place to go, down the middle,

:29:52.:30:13.

especially when you are playing in Mixed Doubles at the slams. Maybe

:30:14.:30:18.

they will play in the States after Wimbledon. You do not play too much

:30:19.:30:31.

together, it becomes an issue. First serves in, along way from

:30:32.:30:35.

acceptable. I think, there were quite a few break points in the

:30:36.:30:40.

opening game, didn't take the man got a little lost. Silky skills, but

:30:41.:30:48.

I do not think it is the end of the world they lost the first set,

:30:49.:30:51.

particularly as they came back into it. If they lost 6-1 it would be

:30:52.:30:56.

difficult to break that momentum, but 6-4, they are in this. Up

:30:57.:31:06.

against the 60 seats, Pakistani and Swedish combination. We were talking

:31:07.:31:13.

in the first set as to how he is controlling it. He was in the top

:31:14.:31:14.

ten not so long ago. -- 16 seeds. He found himself a break point down

:31:15.:32:19.

in the very opening game of this quarterfinal.

:32:20.:32:27.

One or two early issues here in the second set.

:32:28.:33:34.

Broady And Skupski combining really well.

:33:35.:34:13.

They saved two break points in the first set, they have saved one of

:34:14.:34:18.

them here. It isn't anything flash, solid

:34:19.:34:42.

doubles, made the first serve. Their parents, mum and dad. Mum was a

:34:43.:34:52.

national champion, back in the day, in Pakistan. Comes from a real

:34:53.:34:53.

tennis playing family. As does my only Brodie, of course,

:34:54.:35:16.

brought up in a tennis family. Grew up playing the sport with her

:35:17.:35:21.

brother, Liam, who is making his way in this profession at the moment. --

:35:22.:35:24.

Naomi Broady. It is in. This is what happens when you bounce

:35:25.:35:40.

the volley ended and put it away. The centre of the court with

:35:41.:35:46.

Dushevina to be solid. It is not rocket science, go down the middle

:35:47.:35:47.

as much as you can in mixed. A really sporty family, does

:35:48.:36:20.

everything. Now held off the -- three break

:36:21.:36:53.

points, becoming a lengthy opening game in the second set.

:36:54.:37:18.

Not quite the tennis we had yesterday evening, but on the way.

:37:19.:37:22.

Another break point. I just want to have a look at where

:37:23.:37:37.

Vera Dushevina stands. I cannot help thinking of a match last week, when

:37:38.:37:48.

Clara clobbered her partner on the back of the head. Dushevina is not

:37:49.:37:50.

standing there now. APPLAUSE

:37:51.:37:58.

Another break point. If you watch here, Dushevina moots,

:37:59.:38:13.

you cannot see her, before Skupski is the at the back of his swing.

:38:14.:38:19.

Went a little too early. Well spotted.

:38:20.:38:36.

That was the squeal of frustration. She's from good stock.

:38:37.:39:12.

It is fascinating, there is normally one character in a doubles match.

:39:13.:39:18.

That tends to dominate the court. I would save the most of the first set

:39:19.:39:28.

it was Qureshi. Now Skupski is starting to have quite an impact in

:39:29.:39:29.

the second set. What Qureshi and Dushevina have done

:39:30.:39:52.

really well is mixed up the service direction to Broady. Simply rip

:39:53.:39:58.

changes. They are really playing mind games at the moment with

:39:59.:39:59.

Broady. Oh! It is the sun. It is good to see

:40:00.:40:41.

Qureshi smiling about that, what else can you do? I am pleased to see

:40:42.:40:48.

him smile. In Pakistan he has a very cheesy toothpaste advert, he goes to

:40:49.:40:53.

the shop and buy some toothpaste and girls come rushing to see him and by

:40:54.:41:00.

the same toothpaste. At the end he has a bright, gleaming smile. I

:41:01.:41:03.

always think about it when I see him.

:41:04.:41:21.

Not so much a cheesy smile at the end of this one, more a grimace. Did

:41:22.:41:28.

a great job making the first volley difficult, that is where the points

:41:29.:41:29.

started from. It is a good job we have the monitor

:41:30.:41:56.

in front of us, I have lost count of the amount of points at deuce.

:41:57.:42:01.

Eight, I think, is that what you make it? Yes.

:42:02.:42:22.

We have surpassed yesterday evening, it is a new record.

:42:23.:42:34.

That was a little bit of oil for the Pakistani and Russian.

:42:35.:43:07.

-- toil. Entertaining stuff. A home interesting to the doubles. Jamie

:43:08.:43:21.

Murray and Casey Dellacqua were playing Max Mirnyi and Chan, but

:43:22.:43:27.

they have lost in three sets. The winner of this one will play Max

:43:28.:43:32.

Mirnyi or Chan. Impressive, Neal Skupski, I have two

:43:33.:44:14.

say. Plays very much like a typical American college player.

:44:15.:44:28.

A little unlucky there. It is all about... We talk about systems and

:44:29.:44:34.

how you become a tennis player, it is about allowing your own furrow,

:44:35.:44:43.

to be honest. His older brother went to Louisiana State University and

:44:44.:44:45.

developed his tennis. There is a lot of doubles in American college. He

:44:46.:44:51.

is at Wimbledon, improving all the time.

:44:52.:45:09.

Got to the semifinals of Eastbourne on the way here before they lost to

:45:10.:45:17.

Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares. A smart match from Qureshi and

:45:18.:45:46.

douche Avena. Starting to pick a bit more on Broady at the net. -- douche

:45:47.:45:57.

Dushevina. There will be one or two who thought

:45:58.:46:12.

there was almost an inevitability about that. 2-0, with a break. The

:46:13.:46:24.

28-year-old Russian heading to the plate, Vera Dushevina.

:46:25.:46:39.

Qureshi and Dushevina's big win came in the previous round, beating the

:46:40.:46:49.

second seeds in the straight sets to sort themselves out with this

:46:50.:46:50.

quarterfinal ticket. They are both, you sense, beginning

:46:51.:47:03.

to make their Wimbledon experience pay. They have both been playing

:47:04.:47:09.

here for a decade or so, bags of experience.

:47:10.:47:23.

It is starting to show. I was going to say they are doing the simple

:47:24.:47:31.

things well, then they dumped a relatively straightforward volley

:47:32.:47:36.

into the net. They have moved well, combined effectively together well.

:47:37.:47:38.

They have done the basics. Good numbers on their first serves.

:47:39.:47:53.

You look at the difference between the two, almost 70% of first serves

:47:54.:47:56.

in the Qureshi and Dushevina. That is staring at me on the

:47:57.:48:11.

monitor. You have to get your first serves in in doubles.

:48:12.:48:31.

Lots of martyred debate. They are trying to switch up the play, we

:48:32.:48:37.

will find out which way they are going in a moment. That is what all

:48:38.:48:42.

the discussions are about, what way are they going to move? -- muttered

:48:43.:48:48.

debate. If he is going to move to his left, Dushevina needs to fill in

:48:49.:48:55.

the space behind him. And that did not happen.

:48:56.:49:03.

He moves left. A real lack of communications.

:49:04.:49:50.

This has been a bit of a problem on the side of the court. They have

:49:51.:49:56.

been really messing with Broady's mind. It is to out of 13 break

:49:57.:50:03.

points converted for Broady and Skupski. You can see where they are

:50:04.:50:05.

missing out here. A smart set from Dushevina, tying up

:50:06.:50:11.

Skupski. APPLAUSE

:50:12.:50:23.

Nothing wrong with that return. They are going to check that, I

:50:24.:51:05.

think. They have really opened the door here for Broady and Skupski,

:51:06.:51:09.

this is a routine service game. Skupski and Broady have had

:51:10.:52:42.

opportunities on both service games of Qureshi initially and then Vera

:52:43.:52:46.

Dushevina. However, the opportunities come and the

:52:47.:52:50.

opportunities keep going. Yes. Obviously Broady wants to play on

:52:51.:52:57.

the left and Skupski on the right, because he plays on the right side

:52:58.:53:03.

when he plays with Ken. Sometimes it is difficult, as the woman, to

:53:04.:53:08.

convert. It has been a bit of an issue. On the other side of the net,

:53:09.:53:10.

douche Avena -- Dutch they are very tough to break down.

:53:11.:53:31.

This competition is 101 years old this year. At extra large prize if

:53:32.:53:44.

you can name the first winners. Hope crisp and Agnes. Some famous names

:53:45.:53:52.

have gone on to win it. Fred Perry was around with Dorothy in the 30s.

:53:53.:54:06.

Owen Davidson and Billie Jean King, those of you whose memories stretch

:54:07.:54:14.

back to the 60s. A fair old roll of honour that these four are trying to

:54:15.:54:16.

add their name to. Dushevina four. Defending champions Daniel Nestor

:54:17.:54:39.

and his partner. Yes, Eugenie Bouchard and my lost

:54:40.:54:57.

Raonic, not the only Canadians in town. Nestor adding to the mix. She

:54:58.:55:07.

has nailed it. UMPIRE: The call stands. That might

:55:08.:55:34.

have one of -- might have been one of those time buying challenges.

:55:35.:56:21.

Qureshi and Dushevina eyeing up a break.

:56:22.:57:03.

There is a lot you can do when you have your nose over the net will

:57:04.:57:10.

stop -- over the net. This time it was Qureshi who moved

:57:11.:58:25.

and Broady who chose wisely. This is a great spot from Broady. Qureshi

:58:26.:58:29.

should have taken the ball in the air. Broady very quickly, a slightly

:58:30.:58:36.

early move from Qureshi, you would not expect that from him.

:58:37.:58:42.

It is payback from the Pakistani. Silky smooth, isn't he? He really

:58:43.:58:54.

is. Classic. Lovely to watch. He is a Grand Slam finalist.

:58:55.:59:10.

Qureshi and his partner Rohan Bopanna were run up -- runners-up to

:59:11.:59:19.

the Bryan brothers. SUE BARKER: We are leaving this

:59:20.:59:43.

match on BBC Two to head to Centre Court. If you want to continue

:59:44.:59:47.

watching this comic you can. It continues on the red button. At this

:59:48.:59:51.

point, welcome to the viewers from BBC1. We are heading back to Centre

:59:52.:59:57.

Court, the first of the men's semifinals have been decided,

:59:58.:00:02.

Djokovic beating Dimitrov. It is now the second semifinal, Roger Federer

:00:03.:00:08.

and my loss Raonic. That is the semifinal we are looking forward to.

:00:09.:00:22.

more than just the serve. What has improved, he is a tall man, that his

:00:23.:00:26.

movement is better. If you have a serf like that and you're not

:00:27.:00:29.

winning there has to be a fault somewhere. He has worked on those

:00:30.:00:32.

coming he has his ground strokes in order, years moving better, coming

:00:33.:00:37.

into the net a little bit more. -- he is. He is big and strong and

:00:38.:00:41.

powerful and he had to impose that today against Federer do have a

:00:42.:00:45.

chance to win. We have looked at his big serve and his physique and

:00:46.:00:48.

thought he should do so well but he hasn't gone past the second round.

:00:49.:00:53.

That is when Leibovitz has had a big part to play. He was in full

:00:54.:00:59.

Croatian. They had similarities. If you are holding a serve as

:01:00.:01:02.

comfortably as he does that should free you up for the baseline rallies

:01:03.:01:06.

to go for your shots. The baseline rallies to go for your shots. Being

:01:07.:01:11.

a hits on his serve, if you're holding that serve that comfortably

:01:12.:01:15.

you can go for your ground strokes. Exactly what is going on today. You

:01:16.:01:22.

guys say, moving, trying to throw the server of, what can watch you

:01:23.:01:26.

do? He will have to try to get the toss, what can watch you do? He will

:01:27.:01:29.

have to try to get the task as yet there is any variation. Goes wider

:01:30.:01:30.

down the task, CF I will look the toss, try to move

:01:31.:01:44.

in, try to take the ball a little bit earlier. I know the ball is

:01:45.:01:48.

coming quick, but you cannot give him the angles, you have to cut the

:01:49.:01:52.

angles of. I know Roger will have to offer him on that rat, and to

:01:53.:01:59.

dashing rat, and to conserve the serve. 147 is pretty special. --

:02:00.:02:11.

rack. He will soon be serving and has fairly soon. We will do a

:02:12.:02:19.

runner. -- at us. When you look at experience, and it is a Wimbledon

:02:20.:02:26.

semifinal, his first Grand Slam semifinal, Roger will assert his

:02:27.:02:33.

authority on this much early on. Raonic is expected to lose, I would

:02:34.:02:39.

think what you would want to get on top, because the quicker he gets on

:02:40.:02:44.

top, the more his reputation comes into playing a part. A lot of guys

:02:45.:02:50.

win 80, 90% of their matches for their warm out there. He has that,

:02:51.:02:54.

that ability to do that. Just before they walk out. But you never know

:02:55.:02:59.

what can happen at Wimbledon. There is one coming straight towards me. I

:03:00.:03:04.

can tell you, that was going at about 141 mph. You tried to catch

:03:05.:03:12.

that, that was a very silly moo. -- move. 141 miles an hour he serves,

:03:13.:03:40.

that, that was a very silly moo. -- are hitting the spots, he will serve

:03:41.:03:43.

basis, that is where Federer will try to change his court position.

:03:44.:03:47.

You can get on a roll, and you feel like he will never get a look in.

:03:48.:03:54.

That is the challenge that like he will never get a look in.

:03:55.:04:00.

most of the time like anybody else's like he will never get a look in.

:04:01.:04:12.

first serve. And if you are like he will never get a look in.

:04:13.:04:12.

free him up to go for the big second serve. And such

:04:13.:04:25.

free him up to go for the big second your hand stinging? He is going to

:04:26.:04:25.

get the ice pack on it. Tim is your hand stinging? He is going to

:04:26.:04:34.

I'm handing over to Mark Petchey. COMMENTATOR: I look

:04:35.:04:41.

I'm handing over to Mark Petchey. the second of today's semifinal. A

:04:42.:04:48.

man that needs no introduction against

:04:49.:04:48.

man that needs no introduction being introduced to the world of

:04:49.:04:50.

men's tennis as a future star. APPLAUSE

:04:51.:04:50.

Milos Raonic has been playing some APPLAUSE

:04:51.:04:56.

wonderful tennis to get through to the stage. He has looked composed

:04:57.:05:01.

and dangerous. As everyone has been discussing, it is how you handle

:05:02.:05:05.

your first-ever Grand Slam semifinal, we're just about to find

:05:06.:05:08.

out. It would be a rare moment here,

:05:09.:05:27.

there will be a challenge on the first point, first served. He was

:05:28.:05:34.

pretty adamant. I understand this. Just to get a sense of what is going

:05:35.:05:38.

on. APPLAUSE APPLAUSE

:05:39.:06:02.

That is pretty confident from Raonic. Jimmy has come in, to get

:06:03.:06:22.

the ice bucket. His hands stinging of it. I'm just wiping away the

:06:23.:06:25.

tears. -- a bit. Thread of the needle there, Federer,

:06:26.:06:30.

quickly into his stride as well. Just a mere 138, a little on the

:06:31.:07:19.

slow side. He has been serving so well, I did the first match against

:07:20.:07:22.

Matthew Hampton, afterwards they well, I did the first match against

:07:23.:07:27.

to repaint the lines, he was that well, I did the first match against

:07:28.:07:30.

accurate and that fast. -- the Matthew Hebdon. A pretty good firm

:07:31.:07:44.

return by Federer. Once the ball is in play, Federer is certainly the

:07:45.:07:48.

one who should win the point. He has played Federer on a number of

:07:49.:08:37.

occasions and, on the wrong side. He would have had some wise words. The

:08:38.:08:39.

player down on the court... APPLAUSE

:08:40.:08:56.

UMPIRE: Game Federer. First game. It is a big serve but at the same

:08:57.:09:00.

time, we see Federer go up a break, Roger over the course of his career,

:09:01.:09:05.

has returned big servers very well. If you look at his win -lost record

:09:06.:09:10.

against guys like Raonic, Del Potro, Lubavitch, another guy who had a

:09:11.:09:17.

great serve... He is smart, he doesn't read to do too much, he gets

:09:18.:09:22.

the ball, get the ball in play. -- try to do. He is so light around the

:09:23.:09:27.

court, his movement is so good, he is able to impose as well.

:09:28.:09:53.

A swing and a miss. Sometimes takes the players a while to warm up. The

:09:54.:10:16.

line judge is taking a bit of time. Credit where credit is due, good

:10:17.:10:17.

cause. -- good call. Mr Federer has two challenges

:10:18.:10:41.

remaining. Federer looks relaxed early on in the match but even after

:10:42.:10:55.

nine points you hear him calling out allez, he knows the importance of

:10:56.:10:57.

the early break and a good start. What odds would you have got into

:10:58.:11:08.

breaks of serve in the first two games? -- in two breaks of serve.

:11:09.:11:25.

APPLAUSE He is a different sort of profile in

:11:26.:11:36.

terms of his returns, won it. That is a pretty smart serve and

:11:37.:11:41.

relatively quick as well. -- Raonic. He throws it out wide and he

:11:42.:11:45.

opens up the whole court. Raonic 's movement would have to come into

:11:46.:11:49.

play. For a big man it is tough to do. APPLAUSE

:11:50.:11:58.

Game Federer. Getting him off the court.

:11:59.:12:06.

From both sides of the net, that is certainly the starter Pedro was

:12:07.:12:12.

looking for. On the other side, Raonic a little nervous. --

:12:13.:12:18.

Federer. You need to settle down, win this game, get into it. APPLAUSE

:12:19.:12:29.

At the last meeting, down under in the straight year, in 2013, it was

:12:30.:12:35.

bullocks first night match in Australia. You definitely felt the

:12:36.:12:41.

nerves. -- Raonic's first night match.

:12:42.:13:03.

APPLAUSE He runs around his backhand, it's an

:13:04.:13:10.

awful long way to run around your backhand to hit a forehand, you have

:13:11.:13:15.

to go for a winner there. The whole court was left open, a great

:13:16.:13:16.

forehand by Raonic. APPLAUSE Game Raonic. APPLAUSE

:13:17.:13:53.

Federer leads. Sitting down and settling down. A quick shot of

:13:54.:13:58.

Ricardo Piatti up there, he's been working with Raonic for a while and

:13:59.:14:02.

Lubavitch. He treated the other day it's been 20 years and coming,

:14:03.:14:08.

another Wimbledon final for them, he didn't manage to make it when they

:14:09.:14:11.

were working together that he managed to do it together with

:14:12.:14:19.

Raonic. PFT has a wise head. -- Ricardo Piatti. It is not just about

:14:20.:14:22.

a big serve, from what I've seen in this tournament. Definitely not,

:14:23.:14:27.

when you reflect on his performance, his performance is going back 12

:14:28.:14:31.

months, 24 months, he had this huge serve. Then was playing, eight, ten

:14:32.:14:37.

feet behind the baseline, rallying, staying in the points. Ricardo

:14:38.:14:42.

Piatti and Lubavitch have done a great job to get him to be more

:14:43.:14:50.

offensive. When you're holding serve that comfortably, it's a great

:14:51.:14:55.

foundation. The one thing Federer, even though he just lost the last

:14:56.:15:01.

game on Raonic's serve, yes not standing way back behind the

:15:02.:15:04.

baseline to give the angles. He knows what he is facing, he will

:15:05.:15:09.

have to hold tight on his racket. He is willing to take the chance to

:15:10.:15:13.

take away the angles. To me that is a smart move.

:15:14.:15:34.

APPLAUSE Interesting, I was chatting just

:15:35.:15:42.

before the match, asking how he felt about today, he said there won't be

:15:43.:15:47.

a lot of rallies, I don't think the court service will be as much as a

:15:48.:15:57.

problem is it seemed to be, but he thought Roger would target the

:15:58.:16:01.

forehand of Raonic to open up the backhand side. There were a lot of

:16:02.:16:04.

players who moved better to the left for the right-hander moving round

:16:05.:16:08.

the backhand that when you get moving to the it's not so natural.

:16:09.:16:14.

-- but when. The forehand. The slow serve out wide to the forehand,

:16:15.:16:19.

takes Raonic a long way off the court. Once he's off the court it

:16:20.:16:23.

leaves a big call to the backhand. -- hole.

:16:24.:16:27.

APPLAUSE A bit of casual brilliance. Where

:16:28.:16:45.

would you put that Jimmy? This is a different level for Raonic to play

:16:46.:16:49.

against now. I know he's in the semifinals and he has won his match

:16:50.:16:53.

is along the way that you have do remember who you are playing. The

:16:54.:16:56.

seven time champion knows his way around the court pretty well.

:16:57.:17:07.

In my point with that, my point is, that is extra pressure on him, to

:17:08.:17:17.

know he has to come. Come up with something a little better.

:17:18.:17:42.

Do you think Raonic almost showed Federer too much respect with that

:17:43.:17:47.

shot? If he had crunched it straight down the middle it could have sent a

:17:48.:17:52.

message. I don't think it is ever a bad thing to go actual opponent to

:17:53.:17:57.

intimidate him a little. -- at your opponent.

:17:58.:18:01.

He does have a backhand, that is an awful long way to run to hit a

:18:02.:18:16.

forehand. You have to do so much with it, too much of a big gap.

:18:17.:18:21.

Federer was right on top of it right away, he doesn't waste any time.

:18:22.:18:36.

APPLAUSE That was a very visual difference

:18:37.:18:42.

between the two players. A ruthless streak from Roger as he goes

:18:43.:18:47.

straight through Raonic that time. He tried a little touch volley,

:18:48.:18:51.

Federer is way too quick to do that. Once again he went pretty close when

:18:52.:18:56.

captain, he's not afraid to do the intimidating part. -- right at him.

:18:57.:19:49.

Beautiful. APPLAUSE 30-40. With Federer and the north

:19:50.:19:58.

end of the court, we talked about it, the wind and it slows down

:19:59.:20:04.

Raonic's serve and gets a bit more stick the Federer return. Suddenly a

:20:05.:20:07.

break point for a double break. APPLAUSE

:20:08.:20:40.

He moved to dance a little better, he seems to be loosening up a little

:20:41.:20:45.

bit. -- to that. His feet in a better position, he was able to hit

:20:46.:20:47.

that good and firmly. allowing Federer to float the ball

:20:48.:22:01.

back deep, maybe a serve and volley once in awhile, might mix it up a

:22:02.:22:03.

bit. -- is allowing. His father on the left. His mum on

:22:04.:22:30.

the right. APPLAUSE

:22:31.:22:41.

Raonic. Advantage. Game Raonic. APPLAUSE

:22:42.:23:39.

Federer leads 3-2 first set. An ace on the board, another game on the

:23:40.:23:40.

board. A lovely story in the paper about

:23:41.:23:54.

Raonic the other day. He was born in Montenegro but came over to Canada.

:23:55.:23:59.

He played tennis, it says here in his biography he played at eight but

:24:00.:24:02.

he actually played at six. There is his father. He stopped for a couple

:24:03.:24:06.

of years, did some ice hockey in Canada and some other sports, then

:24:07.:24:10.

he came up to his dad and said I would like to try that racket sport

:24:11.:24:14.

thing again I was part of. His dad didn't really know which way to turn

:24:15.:24:20.

at the time and he went out to, as they do in Montenegro, to a

:24:21.:24:25.

hairdresser. That is where they get their local information. He went on

:24:26.:24:28.

there to figure out the best place to take Raonic on this journey. Ever

:24:29.:24:33.

since that day, that was the only thing he's ever wanted to do. He

:24:34.:24:38.

refused to snowboard, they try to buy him a snowboard and he said I

:24:39.:24:41.

could hurt myself doing that. It's just been a single-minded ambition

:24:42.:24:47.

of his. He would be a pretty imposing presence on a pair of

:24:48.:24:51.

skates, don't you think? Yes! LAUGHTER

:24:52.:24:55.

It looks like the hairdresser had an impact in other ways.

:24:56.:25:03.

When you are as challenged as I am in that department you don't really

:25:04.:25:06.

go there with those jokes. LAUGHTER It seems to me Raonic is hitting the

:25:07.:25:34.

ball and hoping and moment, he doesn't expect it to be good and he

:25:35.:25:36.

is a little bit late. APPLAUSE

:25:37.:25:50.

Just a follow up, Federer expects everything back all the time, until

:25:51.:25:54.

the ball hits the fans, he's ready for it. -- the fence. APPLAUSE

:25:55.:26:05.

He's got it all going on at the moment, the former champion. Federer

:26:06.:26:12.

leads 4-2. Tim you mentioned earlier Federer was in the locker room

:26:13.:26:18.

watching Djokovic, do you think that inspired him a little bit more? I

:26:19.:26:24.

think it will be a minor detail in the back of his mind. He knows he

:26:25.:26:28.

can't get ahead of himself, he has to go out and put a performance

:26:29.:26:34.

today. I think having watched that semifinal he would have liked what

:26:35.:26:38.

he saw. Djokovic played OK, he played his best, he did it good job

:26:39.:26:45.

getting through. I think Federer fancies another title to his list.

:26:46.:27:12.

What a shot! He's made it. APPLAUSE 30-0. Can you explain what happened?

:27:13.:27:29.

That is pure strength. Pure talent. APPLAUSE

:27:30.:27:47.

Its more traditional when you have a short ball to go and the guy then

:27:48.:27:55.

the net. -- on the net. He doesn't even need to look at the ball.

:27:56.:28:06.

He doesn't know what to expect. It went in at about 130.

:28:07.:28:15.

APPLAUSE Game Raonic. Federer leads 4-3,

:28:16.:29:07.

first set. It has settled down into the kind of pattern of games we

:29:08.:29:11.

expected at the start of the match, in terms of the Serbs dominating

:29:12.:29:15.

proceedings. Roger very quick out of the box and Raonic a touch nervous.

:29:16.:29:24.

-- dominating serves. Raonic is starting to rivet up on his serve.

:29:25.:29:29.

How difficult is it to come out here and settle down to play the

:29:30.:29:30.

How difficult is it to come out here kind of tennis you know you're

:29:31.:29:37.

capable of in such a great arena? -- revved up. This is new for Raonic. I

:29:38.:29:43.

thought he would come out and be free, swing free and go for his

:29:44.:29:51.

shots. He came out not moving quite as fluently as he would like. The

:29:52.:29:55.

first game will be nervous but with the serve like that he should have

:29:56.:29:59.

got through it. Federer is returning everything which means Raonic is

:30:00.:30:03.

pitting a little extra pressure on his first ball. -- pitting. Once

:30:04.:30:08.

again the ball will be in play. That was certainly the favourite once

:30:09.:30:09.

that happens. -- Federer. just saw there, they hold 29 titles

:30:10.:30:29.

between them, Jack Nicklaus and Rod Laver.

:30:30.:30:37.

Good movement there, moved well around his backhand to get to his

:30:38.:31:12.

forehand. And the whole court was open.

:31:13.:31:22.

He has had so much success going into that, Raonic. Justin Rose

:31:23.:31:27.

there. He is so used to going to the

:31:28.:31:41.

backhand side, Federer having it easy to go to the forehand. 26

:31:42.:31:47.

minutes, first loose shot from Federer.

:31:48.:32:05.

The response that we've come to expect, not the fastest first serve,

:32:06.:32:09.

but buying on the line. He caught that well out in front of

:32:10.:32:27.

him. He needed to. No wonder it's reliable.

:32:28.:33:07.

UMPIRE: Mr Ramage is challenging. -- Raonic. The ball was called in.

:33:08.:33:10.

Advantage, Federer. Game, Federer.

:33:11.:33:24.

That's the way to get out of a tight game. Tim, for you, where does Roger

:33:25.:33:30.

Rankin terms of serve? If you are talking about the serve, the first

:33:31.:33:37.

and second serve combination, I would put him in the top two. I

:33:38.:33:42.

still wouldn't write off Pete Sampras, the way he used to serve.

:33:43.:33:47.

He had a little more firepower than Federer. But I think his variation,

:33:48.:33:51.

his disguise. Federer's variation, disguise, was

:33:52.:34:02.

the best I ever played against. UMPIRE: Said a relieved five games

:34:03.:36:22.

to four, first set. -- Federer leads. That was the serve that came

:36:23.:36:34.

after his first serve. That is two of my first serves combined! Roger

:36:35.:36:41.

has to be very patient. There is no rhythm. The him, he started out this

:36:42.:36:54.

match. The extension on the serve is something I have never seen before.

:36:55.:37:02.

It's unbelievable. So much of the power coming from his legs. He

:37:03.:37:13.

started off in Miami with that sleeve on his arm because he had a

:37:14.:37:18.

reaction to something, but it keeps the all warm and helps his serve.

:37:19.:37:30.

Sometimes he can do 15, 30, 40, game within 60 seconds, so he has to keep

:37:31.:37:35.

it ready to go. UMPIRE: Thank you.

:37:36.:37:42.

Let, first service. Lets see if he can get some returns in play, put

:37:43.:37:47.

some pressure on Roger. Might not be a bad play, return down

:37:48.:38:13.

the middle hard and the, take the angle away.

:38:14.:38:32.

It is the classic punch there, Raonic has done well to get the ball

:38:33.:38:41.

back in play, but Federer is always dancing round ready to get the ball

:38:42.:38:42.

back. Federer knows how important this is.

:38:43.:39:36.

He has to finish it off. He is pretty vocal out there today.

:39:37.:39:56.

The difference is, when Roger hits the ball, he knows it is game to be

:39:57.:39:57.

good. -- going to be good. It seems that Milos is hoping it is

:39:58.:40:08.

going to be good. UMPIRE: Game and first set, Federer,

:40:09.:40:24.

6-4. SUE BARKER: So, the first set to

:40:25.:40:30.

Federer, and we will be back in a moment. Some results from earlier

:40:31.:40:36.

today, and Novak Djokovic is through to his 14th Grand Slam final. But he

:40:37.:40:41.

had to do it the hard way against Grigor Dimitrov who led 6-3 in the

:40:42.:40:47.

fourth set tie-break. But Djokovic came back to win it in four sets. So

:40:48.:40:53.

he is through to the final here once again. The champion of 2011 has his

:40:54.:41:03.

sights on another title. And in the Mixed Doubles

:41:04.:41:06.

quarterfinals, disappointment for Jamie Murray. He and Jamie Dellacqua

:41:07.:41:10.

beaten by the 14th seeds. And disappointing news for Britain

:41:11.:41:26.

as well after the brave battle on Centre Court yesterday, British

:41:27.:41:38.

interest in the Mixed Doubles ends in the last eight. Those are the

:41:39.:41:45.

scenes on Court Number One earlier. Back on centre right now.

:41:46.:41:53.

COMMENTATOR: Roger Federer has never lost at this stage in Wimbledon. He

:41:54.:42:03.

has so many records, I'm sure he has lost count. If you were Raonic here,

:42:04.:42:11.

would you try to take some pays off your first serve? He has plenty of

:42:12.:42:19.

power, he needs to look at keeping that percentage higher. He can go

:42:20.:42:25.

for it, but he needs to get off to a better start.

:42:26.:43:11.

Don't worry about placement, just hit. 118 out wide, 135 right at

:43:12.:43:19.

him. Mixing it up. UMPIRE: Game, Raonic. First game,

:43:20.:43:32.

second set. Raonic needs to build a bit of

:43:33.:43:37.

pressure. Losing his serve in the first game gave Federer the

:43:38.:43:42.

immediate momentum. Interesting to watch both these guys on the court

:43:43.:43:49.

and how calm I are, yet both of them with very fiery temperaments as

:43:50.:43:55.

juniors, Roger in particular. Raonic himself. There is a man with a fiery

:43:56.:44:01.

temper, even when he was playing professionally!

:44:02.:44:10.

Are you saying Mac never got it under control? I would never make

:44:11.:44:28.

that accusation. I would never say that there is one way that you have

:44:29.:44:30.

to be in this game. If you have the passion, you should

:44:31.:44:36.

show it. He had the school going for him. Not

:44:37.:45:23.

a bad play. UMPIRE: Game, Federer. One game all,

:45:24.:45:34.

second set. You talk about being patient. I

:45:35.:45:52.

thought Federer was impressive against Wawrinka. He kept his head

:45:53.:46:01.

down, got the tie-break. Let's see whether round which the patient

:46:02.:46:03.

here. -- Raonic can be patient. Raonic can't expect to hit one ball

:46:04.:46:40.

and the point be over, Federer is way too good for that.

:46:41.:46:48.

But when you can count on that... That is the equaliser out there,

:46:49.:46:54.

isn't it? Exactly. He is a pretty imposing figure once

:46:55.:47:42.

he gets up to the net. On grass, if you serve that well,

:47:43.:48:01.

why not serve and volley once again, a game, just to keep your opponent

:48:02.:48:02.

guessing. I think in fairness to Raonic, he

:48:03.:48:24.

has tried to incorporate that more and more into his game.

:48:25.:48:32.

You talk about different styles of players, different styles of movers,

:48:33.:48:40.

and having watched Dimitrov and Jock at -- Djokovic sliding around the

:48:41.:48:50.

court, and Federer glides and doesn't slide.

:48:51.:49:11.

And even in this early part of the second set, there will be a few

:49:12.:49:19.

alarm bells ringing in round which's mind. -- Raonic.

:49:20.:49:37.

Do you get the feeling that he just cant too much on the first serve?

:49:38.:49:43.

That if the ball comes back, he isn't ready? I think so.

:49:44.:49:55.

I think that is what happened right there. He thinks the serve is meant

:49:56.:50:07.

to win the point. It is not, it is meant to set up the point. He has

:50:08.:50:12.

had 60% of unreturned service in the Championships, and that won't happen

:50:13.:50:13.

against Federer. TIM HENMAN: The beauty of getting to

:50:14.:51:15.

the net is that it doesn't give Federer the opportunity to use all

:51:16.:51:23.

the great shots that he has had. And it looks like when Raonic is that

:51:24.:51:30.

the net, he is going to be difficult to pass, he is imposing. It is

:51:31.:51:38.

difficult to incorporate it more into his game, but it will

:51:39.:51:40.

definitely be good tactic on grass and against Federer. Surely one of

:51:41.:51:49.

the toughest things from Raonic as well is to work out what speed you

:51:50.:51:53.

should serve and volley at. The faster he serves, the quicker it is

:51:54.:52:05.

back. Good point. It just allows him to know that he can't float the ball

:52:06.:52:10.

back to three feet above the net. It just keeps them off guard just a

:52:11.:52:17.

little bit. He has earned the respect of so many fans around the

:52:18.:52:20.

world, not just from his home nation, with the elegance of his

:52:21.:52:24.

play and the effort that goes into it, as well.

:52:25.:53:17.

The word that Ljubicic used before this match, what was the one thing

:53:18.:53:26.

that you learned? And he said, he is unpredictable.

:53:27.:53:35.

There is no pattern of play that you can really look into.

:53:36.:54:35.

Just a little cumbersome from Raonic there. To go back to what you said

:54:36.:54:45.

about Roger being put the ball, he is not afraid to let his imagination

:54:46.:54:52.

playing to his game -- Roger being unpredictable.

:54:53.:55:00.

Sometimes you get into one way of playing that allows your opponent to

:55:01.:55:05.

run along the baseline from side to side, and the rhythm comes in and it

:55:06.:55:08.

is easier to play. Again, he's asking a lot of him

:55:09.:56:06.

self. UMPIRE: Game, round which. --

:56:07.:56:50.

Raonic. Raonic leads. One thing that Roger is looking to

:56:51.:56:54.

do a lot of the time on the return is to try to find a way to get to

:56:55.:56:59.

this man's backhand so he has to hit the backhand with his first shot

:57:00.:57:05.

rather than the forehand. It is something not too many players are

:57:06.:57:08.

able to do, because most people are trying to get the ball back in the

:57:09.:57:12.

court anyhow, but you see here from Roger's perspective how he is trying

:57:13.:57:17.

to drift the ball as best you can to wards that I will hand Raonic. When

:57:18.:57:26.

he does get his forehand into play, he is exceptionally dominant. You

:57:27.:57:31.

can see at the bottom of the picture there how many times he has tried to

:57:32.:57:43.

hit forehand out of shop -- shot. It certainly is his power shot, and he

:57:44.:57:49.

runs an awful long way sometimes to get around that backhand, but in

:57:50.:57:52.

turn, that puts so much pressure on making the shot so good, errors

:57:53.:58:07.

creep in. Which means that hitting a backhand is what he has to do, and

:58:08.:58:11.

he is ready for it, I can't stress that enough. He seems to be wanted

:58:12.:58:14.

hit only one or two shops. His serve has always been a weapon,

:58:15.:59:18.

but he has worked on the rest of his game to make it better.

:59:19.:59:44.

UMPIRE: Game, Federer. New balls, please. Three games all, second set.

:59:45.:59:54.

And he has done it the hard way, as well, Raonic. He had to take the

:59:55.:00:00.

cheap times back in Toronto, six 30 AM before school -- 6:30am. And

:00:01.:00:10.

later night after school, he had to work out how to set up the ball

:00:11.:00:16.

machine had Raonic to get out there and hit tennis balls. It looks

:00:17.:00:22.

glamorous when you are at Wimbledon and was always meant to be, but for

:00:23.:00:29.

everyone Milos Raonic, there are hundred kids out there who didn't

:00:30.:00:33.

get here and they took all the trouble.

:00:34.:01:27.

second serve. You expect to get the width when you get it out wide. But

:01:28.:01:37.

to get the width on the court. It is coming down from such

:01:38.:01:42.

angle. He is so tall. The board takes off on the court. -- the

:01:43.:01:44.

ball. APPLAUSE

:01:45.:02:47.

Talk about the enormous speed on Raonic's serve. That wonders not

:02:48.:02:50.

away from Federer, it was in the hitting zone, and it came back with

:02:51.:02:54.

interest. -- that one does not get away.

:02:55.:03:19.

APPLAUSE Game Raonic. Raonic leads. A bit of

:03:20.:03:27.

a psychological chains coming up. You were talking about scoreboard

:03:28.:03:31.

pressure. This is good. -- change. You're in the territory of one blood

:03:32.:03:36.

service game. Raonic has done a good job, he has found his rhythm. -- the

:03:37.:03:42.

one bad service game. Federer will be aware of that committee knows

:03:43.:03:48.

setup could prove costly. I'm thinking back to 1991, I think it

:03:49.:03:54.

was the semifinal with Stefan Edberg who is in Federer 's box. Edberg 's

:03:55.:04:03.

opponent won that day, and doesn't break serve. I'm sure Raonic will be

:04:04.:04:06.

looking for history to repeat itself.

:04:07.:04:15.

He has been enjoying his time back on the tour, Stefan Edberg.

:04:16.:04:20.

Especially here at Wimbledon where he is a member. I saw him yesterday

:04:21.:04:26.

and Queen's Club out hitting in the sun. He still looks like he could

:04:27.:04:29.

come and hear and playwright not, he's good shape. -- here, and

:04:30.:04:37.

playwrights now. He has had a strong affinity with London over the years,

:04:38.:04:41.

he's made it his pace over the years. -- his play right now. I was

:04:42.:04:47.

fortunate enough to play with him. Unfortunately none of his greatness

:04:48.:04:50.

rubbed off on me. LAUGHTER APPLAUSE

:04:51.:05:07.

Mr Federer called on the left side of the service line, it was called

:05:08.:05:10.

out. Second serve. Mr Federer has two challenges

:05:11.:05:50.

remain. When you're a big guy and you don't have the balance of image

:05:51.:05:54.

of or Djokovic it can be nasty, but he did well to come out unscathed.

:05:55.:06:06.

-- of Djokovic or Dimitrov. It is a big frame to be throwing around out

:06:07.:06:08.

there on the court. That was three good firm solid shots

:06:09.:06:40.

but they are too few and far between.

:06:41.:07:12.

Lucky and great, a pretty irresistible combination. That is

:07:13.:07:17.

why you go to a bigger frame. You play for the whole frame so you

:07:18.:07:26.

might as well use it. -- you pay. Not quite out of the middle of the

:07:27.:07:30.

racket but very effective. The pressure back on Raonic.

:07:31.:08:02.

He almost looks like he is holding the racket flat. It is almost a week

:08:03.:08:09.

grip around toward the backhand side. But he is so loose with his

:08:10.:08:11.

wrist flattens it out. APPLAUSE

:08:12.:08:42.

Four Raonic completely unawares. -- the court. -- he caught. He was

:08:43.:08:51.

thinking the backhand was giving crosscourt. -- going.

:08:52.:09:26.

APPLAUSE That was the luxury of playing the

:09:27.:09:36.

ball back. Raonic could have taken that one out of the air. No first

:09:37.:09:43.

serves in the match like that, at this stage it will prove costly.

:09:44.:10:07.

Federer would have loved to make him play one more ball there, the chance

:10:08.:10:09.

to get it back in play. The challenge on the right-hand

:10:10.:10:27.

side. The ball was called out. What do you think of this one? Certainly

:10:28.:10:33.

very close. Just wait. Having had a delay between the first and second

:10:34.:10:37.

serves it is sometimes not easy, certainly at 4-4, 15-40. -- just

:10:38.:10:51.

wide. APPLAUSE Nothing seems to raffle Federer.

:10:52.:11:05.

Virtually it's 5-4. -- to ruffle. Federer leads. Talk about seizing

:11:06.:11:09.

the opportunity, a second serve on break point, solid return. One

:11:10.:11:12.

chance with a backhand up the line, just executed to perfection. Only

:11:13.:11:22.

preparation, good shoulder turn, the ball out in front. -- early. Picks

:11:23.:11:28.

his spot. How early has he decided to take that up the line? As soon as

:11:29.:11:33.

the ball comes across the net I think, Raonic likes to camp in the

:11:34.:11:41.

backhand side, this is his moment. You give a player like Federer who

:11:42.:11:46.

knows or to dislike to be out there, and has been in this position over

:11:47.:11:51.

and over. -- what it is like. He knows the importance of moment but

:11:52.:11:55.

he also knows when to push and go forward. It has certainly given him

:11:56.:12:01.

two or three break points in a row. That is dangerous. APPLAUSE

:12:02.:12:13.

He comes out serving for the set, he is not going to let down, he's not

:12:14.:12:19.

going to say I've done my job, he will get down to work even more, to

:12:20.:12:21.

close this out. It was a mess with a purpose, it

:12:22.:14:04.

wasn't just a wild shot. Everyone misses them sometimes. It had a

:14:05.:14:07.

purpose, he was going there for a reason. -- a miss. APPLAUSE

:14:08.:14:37.

The first one he kind of got away with, good reflexes on the second

:14:38.:14:44.

one saved the day. APPLAUSE Now very much in pole position.

:14:45.:14:53.

He has been exactly that, perfect, it has been composed, clinical. He

:14:54.:15:12.

has been patient. He is two thirds of the way to another Wimbledon

:15:13.:15:16.

final. He is halfway off the court to the bathroom. I'm sure when

:15:17.:15:20.

Stefan Edberg and Roger were talking about this match last night, or this

:15:21.:15:27.

morning, you couldn't have envisaged a more ideal start. A couple of

:15:28.:15:32.

break point opportunities in both sets, he took them, clinical on his

:15:33.:15:41.

serve. Two sets to the good, one more to go. It hasn't been anything

:15:42.:15:48.

this spectacular, he has gone about his business and take in what has

:15:49.:15:57.

been given to him. -- taken. Ultimately that is the talent gap

:15:58.:16:00.

between somebody who is a lot younger, trying to achieve many of

:16:01.:16:04.

the things Roger has already achieved in the game. Not everybody

:16:05.:16:08.

is able to stay with a guy like Federer because he has so many

:16:09.:16:12.

layers to his game. He can win a lot of ways, right now it seems to me

:16:13.:16:18.

Raonic was my greatest tournament, as he has had, he has had a

:16:19.:16:23.

tremendous tournament, he has only one way to win. He has two serve

:16:24.:16:27.

Roger of the court. He is not doing that. He has only won 30% of the

:16:28.:16:33.

second serve points he has been able to win. That is not good enough

:16:34.:16:38.

against a great player like Roger. Once the ball is in play, he has a

:16:39.:16:44.

variety of opportunities. He can make you come he can overpower you,

:16:45.:16:46.

you can win a lot of ways. -- and make you come he can overpower you,

:16:47.:16:51.

you can win a lot of ways. -- Nick you. The experience he is getting

:16:52.:16:57.

today, he can serve volumes for him down the road. If you looks at it,

:16:58.:17:00.

the right way, the match is not over, but the situation he is in

:17:01.:17:06.

now, he has a heavy mountain to climb. You make the comparison with

:17:07.:17:17.

the rest of the tournament. Raonic was winning 88% on his first serve

:17:18.:17:20.

points one, winning 80 today which is a good percentage, he has been

:17:21.:17:25.

winning 66% binders second serve against the other opponents, and

:17:26.:17:28.

against Federer that is where he's had a huge impact. -- on his second

:17:29.:17:34.

serve. The scenario is still the same for Raonic as we start the

:17:35.:17:39.

third set, he has two when 3 cents years to get through to his

:17:40.:17:42.

first-ever Wimbledon final. -- to win three sets if years. If he is

:17:43.:17:49.

to. Federer has lost three times in his

:17:50.:18:23.

career from two setup. Once he was coming back off an ankle injury. And

:18:24.:18:29.

against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at Wimbledon in 2011, and construct a

:18:30.:18:32.

pitch in the semifinals at the U.S. Open. In the same year. -- two sets

:18:33.:18:38.

up. APPLAUSE

:18:39.:18:57.

He comes in with a good enough shot but he doesn't get in close enough.

:18:58.:19:01.

Top-spin backhand, he doesn't get in close enough to cut the volley.

:19:02.:20:02.

Two of those little sliced backhand in this skin, that Roger has missed.

:20:03.:20:08.

Stay low and hit through that also. -- this game.

:20:09.:20:15.

Game Raonic. APPLAUSE First game, third set. A bit of

:20:16.:20:28.

encouragement for Raonic. More encouragement... He lost one of the

:20:29.:20:32.

time from 2-0 up against Leyton Hewitt in the Davis Cup. A pretty

:20:33.:20:36.

big match that one as well. It has happened, but it is a long journey

:20:37.:20:41.

as both you guys know, from 2-0 down. It is just one point but

:20:42.:20:48.

again, one game at a time for Raonic. -- at the time.

:20:49.:21:04.

Roger wants to close this outcome he once an early date to get away and

:21:05.:21:12.

rest for what is to come. -- early day. He is out for a long afternoon.

:21:13.:21:17.

-- you would like. If you're trying to plot the

:21:18.:22:03.

comeback for Raonic and you reflect that Federer has only lost his serve

:22:04.:22:09.

once in the whole tournament... APPLAUSE

:22:10.:22:14.

I personally wouldn't be putting a lot of money on it.

:22:15.:22:30.

What do you think is going through his coaches mind now? -- coach's.

:22:31.:24:31.

It's good. APPLAUSE I think his coach quite possibly

:24:32.:24:39.

could be planning which part of Croatia he will go to on holiday

:24:40.:24:41.

tomorrow. Normally when you hit the body serve

:24:42.:25:25.

your train to tie the guy up a little bit to get a weak response

:25:26.:25:30.

and put the volley away. -- trying to. Raonic looks like he is going

:25:31.:25:38.

for the Knockout Punch. Almost there.

:25:39.:25:54.

Game running. That is some weapon. -- Raonic. To know you can count on

:25:55.:26:06.

that. That brings me to the point, what would you work on with him if

:26:07.:26:16.

he were his coach? -- you were. They're moving in the right

:26:17.:26:20.

direction, second serve returns, looking to maybe be a bit more

:26:21.:26:24.

aggressive. But it is really about imposing his game, his physique, on

:26:25.:26:30.

the match. And centring around his service games. This is what they've

:26:31.:26:35.

done a lot of in terms service games. This is what they've

:26:36.:26:40.

done a of the physical work, keeping lower. Being a big guy,

:26:41.:27:01.

done a of the physical work, keeping himself. Instead of putting it on

:27:02.:27:09.

Federer. Do you know those two? No, but they obviously know each other

:27:10.:27:17.

well. How do you think Raonic could have an impact on Federer 's serve?

:27:18.:27:22.

I would take a bigger chance have an impact on Federer 's serve?

:27:23.:27:26.

second service, I wouldn't just play have an impact on Federer 's serve?

:27:27.:27:32.

the ball back. I would step in here and give it a go. And try to get

:27:33.:27:38.

the ball back. I would step in here something things going, move

:27:39.:27:38.

forward. Quite disarming for Raonic when your

:27:39.:27:38.

best isn't good enough. APPLAUSE

:27:39.:28:28.

He has done that well today, the wide serve. He has won a lot of free

:28:29.:28:37.

points, opened up in court for his next shot.

:28:38.:28:54.

all? I did not. That was a lovely shot I was watching before the

:28:55.:29:34.

tournament in Wimbledon documentaries, when you played....

:29:35.:30:00.

It is interesting, I see the bags the players bring out onto the court

:30:01.:30:09.

and we were lucky to get three, maybe four rackets into a bag. It

:30:10.:30:12.

looks like they are bringing out a suitcase these days.

:30:13.:30:19.

Federer will have ten in there, one for practice and nine for the match.

:30:20.:30:35.

Different tensions? Probably. Certainly if it is very hot, in a

:30:36.:30:43.

hot climate, you might have a couple that are in bit tighter.

:30:44.:31:13.

Unquestionably, times have changed, certainly in the modern game as

:31:14.:31:17.

well. You can see how dominant the servers

:31:18.:31:26.

were. The returns were not an important

:31:27.:31:44.

obvious but none of them residing in the top ten. When you throw forward

:31:45.:31:50.

to 2014, you can see three of those are not in the top ten although

:31:51.:31:54.

Dimitrov is going to come up into it right now. You can see how dominant

:31:55.:32:01.

and how important the return of service. They are amazing stat and

:32:02.:32:06.

it emphasises how well they return and how well they play from the back

:32:07.:32:11.

of the court. They neutralise the serve when they get into the

:32:12.:32:14.

baseline rallies. They can be the dominant factor. Heat was talking

:32:15.:32:19.

before this tournament about how important he said return of serve

:32:20.:32:26.

was. -- Pete was talking. I played against some guys who had some

:32:27.:32:30.

pretty big serves. John McEnroe was one of them. It was always

:32:31.:32:36.

important... We had to get the ball down a little bit. They were coming

:32:37.:32:40.

in behind it and putting on the pressure right away.

:32:41.:34:08.

He is quick to move up and catch double, high enough to go for the

:34:09.:34:12.

swinging forehand volley. UMPIRE: Game, Federer. Three games

:34:13.:34:20.

all, third set. Roger has to keep his energy as

:34:21.:34:39.

well, he cannot afford to get a little lax, he to keep the pressure

:34:40.:34:44.

on. Why the looks of those shots, he is doing just that! -- by the looks

:34:45.:34:48.

of those shots. He takes his time pretty good right

:34:49.:35:41.

here. He lets Roger make the first move. He plays the ball back down

:35:42.:35:44.

the line. UMPIRE: Game, Raonic. Raonic leads,

:35:45.:36:45.

four games to three, third set. It is keeping it competitive here in

:36:46.:36:51.

the third set. That start of his serve is very unique. I am trying to

:36:52.:36:55.

think of other players that have started like that, Stefan Edberg? A

:36:56.:37:01.

similar start to the serve? He is really turning his wrist, with the

:37:02.:37:06.

racket almost hanging flat to the ground, I think the beauty of it is

:37:07.:37:10.

that he is so loose in his arms and when he gets to the throwing

:37:11.:37:13.

position, the racket head is up and he is ready to unload. It is obvious

:37:14.:37:18.

with his height and frame on the length of his arms, he really can

:37:19.:37:20.

generate a massive amount of power. Interesting watching him out here in

:37:21.:37:35.

the semis. I go back to the root that he took to get to world tennis.

:37:36.:37:40.

Back when he was a teenager, still towards the end of his school

:37:41.:37:43.

career, he was talking about going to university. It was a couple of

:37:44.:37:47.

weeks before he was going off that he did a deal with his parents, he

:37:48.:37:52.

said, give me two years to break the top 100.

:37:53.:38:30.

do you think he is biding his time just to get into a tie-breaker? He

:38:31.:39:28.

is hoping he gets to a tie-break. Business end of the third set, down

:39:29.:40:03.

two sets, he really needs a strong service game here.

:40:04.:40:28.

That is not the start he wanted. He missed the first serve, rallying

:40:29.:40:38.

ball, on full stereo, cannot afford to give Federer these donations. --

:40:39.:40:43.

unforced error. APPLAUSE

:40:44.:40:54.

That could be that. That is one way play, he had all the

:40:55.:41:16.

time in the world to do many things with that short forehand, he still

:41:17.:41:19.

chose to hit the ball deep enough to Federer.

:41:20.:41:24.

You cannot do that, he has to mix his shots up a bit.

:41:25.:41:54.

Raonic was almost forced to come in and Federer's terms. He knew we

:41:55.:42:02.

could not really get much stick and that ball and all of a sudden, three

:42:03.:42:03.

more break points. -- on that ball. With a weapon like that, you can

:42:04.:42:19.

never count him out. Federer leads five games to four.

:42:20.:43:12.

And a perfect time to break the serve of Raonic. He has got one game

:43:13.:43:18.

left, the Canadian, to figure out a way to try to break Federer for the

:43:19.:43:22.

first time. When you look at his game, you can say he does not return

:43:23.:43:27.

well, Raonic, but it is not the returns that have lost him the match

:43:28.:43:30.

today, it is his serve. You look at that game, really, four unforced

:43:31.:43:42.

errors. Federer had that sliced backhand into the net. There has

:43:43.:43:50.

been a lack of first serves Raonic has been unable to get. There is

:43:51.:43:56.

only one winner in these rallies. He could take a wealth of knowledge

:43:57.:43:59.

from this match and he could walk off here and it and talk with his

:44:00.:44:04.

coach and say, this, this, this is what we are working on starting

:44:05.:44:08.

tomorrow. By the time the U.S. Open comes along, he could have changed

:44:09.:44:13.

things. If he goes about it the right way. This could ruin you

:44:14.:44:18.

mentally or make you mentally. You are never in shock at how well

:44:19.:45:24.

this guy plays but you are always in awe.

:45:25.:46:28.

Was that the right shot, poor execution, all the wrong shot? He is

:46:29.:46:41.

on a roll. If he loses his game, he will look back on that for sure.

:46:42.:46:51.

Tough to tell Roger Federer not to go for a shot.

:46:52.:47:29.

The final line-up here at Wimbledon is complete. It will be Roger

:47:30.:47:36.

Federer up against Novak Djokovic on Sunday. A comprehensive victory by

:47:37.:47:42.

the former champion. He will be looking for his eighth Wimbledon

:47:43.:47:47.

title. CHEERING The perfect performance.

:47:48.:47:55.

It really was. Taking into account he has only lost his serve once in

:47:56.:48:03.

the whole tournament, there were a couple of break point opportunities.

:48:04.:48:10.

One for Raonic that was saved with another great serve from Federer and

:48:11.:48:15.

he will be delighted to get through. Straight sets, one hour and 41

:48:16.:48:20.

minutes. No energy wasted. Another fantastic performance. He took care

:48:21.:48:28.

of business well. He knew what he was up against. He comes out, you

:48:29.:48:38.

want to take care of business. On and off as quick as possible.

:48:39.:48:43.

Sometimes it is tough to keep your concentration. Especially when shots

:48:44.:48:52.

are just rolling off your racket. He has got to be very happy with the

:48:53.:49:02.

way he played. Experience at the end here at Wimbledon outlasted youth in

:49:03.:49:05.

terms of the semifinals, we have seen the emergence of a couple of

:49:06.:49:08.

big stars potentially down the road. It was not to be their

:49:09.:49:13.

Wimbledon. It will either be Novak's or Roger's. That is how he

:49:14.:49:18.

finished it off, another telling serve. And they telling looked in

:49:19.:49:23.

those eyes. He has another chance to win another Grand Slam. Looking for

:49:24.:49:32.

his 18th overall. The longevity as well the excellence is something

:49:33.:49:35.

that everybody respects, even great champions that are in his box.

:49:36.:49:49.

Congratulations, a ninth Wimbledon final. That looked a really

:49:50.:49:54.

controlled performance. How did it feel? Big concentration. I really

:49:55.:50:01.

had to focus on every point. You always say that and you always do it

:50:02.:50:04.

but I think today particular I had to be careful of my service games.

:50:05.:50:12.

I think I was unbelievably effective. I am very happy. I am

:50:13.:50:20.

extremely happy to be in another final. Understandable. You have only

:50:21.:50:24.

dropped one set this tournament so far. Have you had the perfect past

:50:25.:50:33.

the Sunday's final? I think so. I did not play so well here last year.

:50:34.:50:39.

I expect a lot of myself fear so I was happy to get through the first

:50:40.:50:43.

round without any problems. -- I expect a lot of myself here.

:50:44.:50:51.

This match was not easy but I got it done and I can look forward to

:50:52.:50:57.

another great match with Novak. Tennis fans around the world are

:50:58.:51:02.

very excited. How much are you looking forward to that challenge as

:51:03.:51:07.

a professional athlete? It is always great, we always play good matches

:51:08.:51:10.

against each other. We have played a lot in the last six months and it

:51:11.:51:13.

has gone back and forth a little bit. Novak is a great champion and

:51:14.:51:20.

he has been around for a long time so he is used to these occasions as

:51:21.:51:24.

well. He already has the trophy in the past so he knows how to get it

:51:25.:51:28.

done. I hope it will be a good match. Players tend to not want to

:51:29.:51:33.

look too far into the future but for someone of your calibre who has done

:51:34.:51:39.

that much, all of the titles, the prize money, what would an eighth

:51:40.:51:46.

Wimbledon title mean to you? A lot. I am unbelievably proud every time I

:51:47.:51:51.

can walk the grounds here and keep playing this tournament. I know I do

:51:52.:51:54.

not have ten left so I will try to enjoy it as much as I can. The first

:51:55.:51:59.

one was unbelievably special in 2003. I was able to play so

:52:00.:52:04.

successfully for so many years at Wimbledon, it has been an

:52:05.:52:10.

unbelievable thrill and that I get a chance to go through these emotions

:52:11.:52:15.

is great. Good luck in the final. SUE BARKER: well done, like the

:52:16.:52:20.

great champion that he is, he raised his game when it mattered in each of

:52:21.:52:25.

those sets. He has been in nine Wimbledon semifinals and he has won

:52:26.:52:29.

all of them and he has only dropped one set in the semifinals. He is

:52:30.:52:35.

heading for a record to win an eighth Wimbledon title and I would

:52:36.:52:39.

not bet against it. He will go back to world number three whatever

:52:40.:52:41.

happens on Sunday and Swiss number one. Roger Federer, back to his

:52:42.:52:49.

best. I am delighted to say Andrew and John are with me. We will talk

:52:50.:52:53.

in just a moment but let's get further reaction from our commentary

:52:54.:52:57.

team who are there. Jimmy, let's talk about Roger Federer. How

:52:58.:53:02.

impressed were you with his performance? I think he played the

:53:03.:53:07.

perfect match. He got off to a very quick start and he broke serve right

:53:08.:53:10.

away. It gave him the confidence that he could get the running serve

:53:11.:53:15.

in place and put the pressure back on the server. He took care of his

:53:16.:53:22.

own serve very well. He did not miss anything. He was on top of the ball

:53:23.:53:27.

and he moved well. He concentrated well. Sometimes when you are winning

:53:28.:53:32.

6-4, 6-4, you get into a lull and you lose your concentration and next

:53:33.:53:36.

thing you are in a dogfight. He did not do that, he went about his

:53:37.:53:39.

business as well as he could. I don't think Raonic put the kind of

:53:40.:53:44.

pressure on him that he wanted to. He did not serve as well as he

:53:45.:53:50.

wanted to. It was all Roger. After that first set and the next two

:53:51.:53:54.

sets, Roger raised the level of his game when it mattered. He is such a

:53:55.:53:59.

good front runner and it is amazing that within six points of the match

:54:00.:54:02.

starting, he has got the break of serve and that really did set the

:54:03.:54:07.

tone. Raonic hung in there and tried to build a bit of pressure, keeping

:54:08.:54:12.

his nose in front but as we saw in the 4-4 game, he could not find the

:54:13.:54:16.

first serves when he needed them. When they got into second serve

:54:17.:54:20.

points, Federer was so good at opening the court slowly and taking

:54:21.:54:25.

the chances and to be through to the Wimbledon final having only dropped

:54:26.:54:30.

his serve once in the whole tournament, that is such a good

:54:31.:54:34.

platform for him. He will be keen to continue on Sunday. A wonderful

:54:35.:54:39.

performance, everyone was talking about who might win the title. You

:54:40.:54:45.

never write off Roger Federer. He is possibly the favourite? Possibly, in

:54:46.:54:51.

that respect, he quite likes the matchup with Novak in particular.

:54:52.:54:55.

Not the same way that he struggles with Rafa. That final will be

:54:56.:55:02.

something that he will enjoy. What you see today, you do not hand these

:55:03.:55:07.

trophies to people who do not have an awful lot to their game. So many

:55:08.:55:10.

layers to their game like Jimmy had and Pete over the years. Raonic is a

:55:11.:55:16.

commendable player and he will only get better. But in those games where

:55:17.:55:21.

he struggled to find first serves, he was in his comfort zone and Roger

:55:22.:55:26.

knew that was the moment to strike and he struck perfectly.

:55:27.:55:28.

knew that was the moment to strike and he struck There is so little

:55:29.:55:32.

between these two great champions, Djokovic and Federer. Who has

:55:33.:55:38.

impressed you the most Jimmy? Djokovic, the way he is moving

:55:39.:55:42.

around the court, but Federer, he has not dropped his serve, only

:55:43.:55:49.

once. I don't think they played their best tennis yet. Coming into

:55:50.:55:53.

the final, both being there and knowing what it is like to have

:55:54.:55:58.

won, they have experienced everything there is to experience

:55:59.:56:02.

around this court. They will lift their games and find what it takes.

:56:03.:56:09.

I am looking for a match that goes the distance and there is such a

:56:10.:56:13.

little bit between them, as you said, to win the title, whoever

:56:14.:56:20.

gets... Not the break but the luck of the quarter, the luck of the

:56:21.:56:25.

banks or something will win. I am looking forward to an all court

:56:26.:56:30.

game, a lot of variety. Not just straightforward power but variety

:56:31.:56:34.

and imagination to enter into it. It will not only be a great match but

:56:35.:56:39.

the fans are in for a great treat. We are looking forward to it. When

:56:40.:56:45.

you look at the head-to-head, it is 18-16. They know each other so well.

:56:46.:56:53.

You feel that it is Federer's time? Everybody picks out a statistic that

:56:54.:56:58.

fits how they feel about it. Everybody is picking out the fact

:56:59.:57:03.

that Federer has dropped one serve. It is pinpoint and he knows exactly

:57:04.:57:07.

how to back it up. He has got his game completely managed. Only one of

:57:08.:57:15.

those contests they have played has been a Grand Slam final and that was

:57:16.:57:21.

Novak's first in 2007. But of course Nadal and Murray got involved. If

:57:22.:57:26.

you cannot lose your serve to Djokovic, you are playing well. And

:57:27.:57:32.

that is a key matchup, does Djokovic break the serve, does he get on top

:57:33.:57:36.

of it early, does he get a good read on it? They have played some of the

:57:37.:57:42.

best matches in history, these two. So much for a changing of the garden

:57:43.:57:48.

this year! Federer has that ability to lift his game and put the

:57:49.:57:54.

pressure on the Raonic serve. He took care of business on his own

:57:55.:57:58.

serve. He knew against Raonic that there would be bits and pieces where

:57:59.:58:01.

he knew against Raonic that they would be bits and pieces we might

:58:02.:58:05.

have a chance. He seemed to read the serve very well from Raonic. He got

:58:06.:58:09.

chances and he immediately took them. His game was almost simple

:58:10.:58:15.

today. He knew what he had to do and he waited for the chances and he

:58:16.:58:19.

took them right away. He rushes doesn't he? Raonic. Federer almost

:58:20.:58:24.

forced Raonic into making those errors. When somebody anticipates

:58:25.:58:30.

well, when they are standing where you want to hit the ball. When you

:58:31.:58:34.

know that whatever serve you hit will come back, floating back deep,

:58:35.:58:39.

it puts pressure on you and you make mistakes. But this is ace get

:58:40.:58:45.

further than Raonic has gone before. -- this is a step further. Federer

:58:46.:58:59.

has taken apart big servers before. Andy Roddick in countless Wimbledon

:59:00.:59:04.

finals. I am pleased to see the Federer-Djokovic final. We have an

:59:05.:59:13.

absolute box office matchup. They. As far as Raonic is concerned, his

:59:14.:59:18.

first Wimbledon semifinal, he will come back and learn from this

:59:19.:59:21.

experience because he is one of those tipped to be at the top in

:59:22.:59:26.

years to come. He is and he has too much of the best coaches in his

:59:27.:59:30.

corner. They will take him away from that match and they will look at it

:59:31.:59:34.

and say, we have to get a bit more variety and get a back-up plan.

:59:35.:59:40.

Things did not go right today and he kept on the same path and it was not

:59:41.:59:44.

good enough playing Federer. He needs some extra tricks, he needs to

:59:45.:59:49.

get a little bit more variety in his game. He has to have a back-up plan

:59:50.:59:54.

if that weapon is slightly off. You think Ivan Lopez chips -- Ivan

:59:55.:00:07.

Ljubicic is the right coach? A He is going to move to world number six, a

:00:08.:00:13.

career for him. Roger back to world number three. If you look at his

:00:14.:00:19.

record, where do we start? That is his semifinal record. Nine Wimbledon

:00:20.:00:23.

semifinals, we have only lost one set. If you look at the variety of

:00:24.:00:28.

players he has beaten. Andy Roddick. Lleyton Hewitt.

:00:29.:00:40.

So many names, key has beaten one and all. He loves the record. It

:00:41.:00:50.

would be great, but for him to be the sole owner of eight Wimbledon

:00:51.:00:54.

titles would mean the world. Again, it is ridiculous. It is like Nadal

:00:55.:01:00.

in the French. You look at it, see the number and think it is not

:01:01.:01:03.

possible. It is not possible what Roger has done. If he does again on

:01:04.:01:08.

Sunday, he is in the record books forever. He has had to wait a bit

:01:09.:01:16.

for this one. Wimbledon in 2012, the Australian before that, four years,

:01:17.:01:20.

he has not had a vast amount of success in those years. He has tried

:01:21.:01:33.

to hang on in his "old-age ". When I spoke to him the other night, I said

:01:34.:01:36.

you worked so hard. He always works it down -- plays it down. He goes

:01:37.:01:44.

down to divide, plays in the heat and is out there for hours and it is

:01:45.:01:47.

relentless. People say it is superhuman. Apparently when he was

:01:48.:01:55.

working with Paul, he went to Dubai, and they were just go for it.

:01:56.:02:08.

In that heat. Yon Borg was like that, he would take them one-on-one

:02:09.:02:17.

in five sets. They were handy on clay. Watching Federer warming up

:02:18.:02:22.

and getting ready, it is amazing. He looks quite slight on the TV. There

:02:23.:02:26.

is nothing to write about him when he's the court. Stefan Edberg and

:02:27.:02:33.

better on the coaching front. A big old rivalry. -- and Boris Becker. He

:02:34.:02:44.

looks like you did back in the 90s. As far as Novak Djokovic is

:02:45.:02:48.

concerned, a great match against Grigor Dimitrov. There were parts of

:02:49.:02:53.

the match where he was not at his best. There were a couple of periods

:02:54.:02:57.

where he was looking up at the box. He was sort of getting a bit

:02:58.:03:04.

negative. He got ahead and it looked liked he would close out and then he

:03:05.:03:08.

played some sloppy points. As John McEnroe was saying commonly found a

:03:09.:03:11.

way. When he needed to changes tactics he did. When he played a bad

:03:12.:03:16.

couple of points he got right back into it. There were times when you

:03:17.:03:20.

wondered a little bit with his mind. I think he is desperate. Utterly

:03:21.:03:27.

desperate to recreate the days of 2011 and 2012, when he was the man.

:03:28.:03:32.

He got rid of Federer and Nadal, in a way and he is desperate to do it

:03:33.:03:36.

again. I do think he can go up a gear. I think you will need to go up

:03:37.:03:41.

a gear from what we saw today. It was a tough match for him. Dimitrov

:03:42.:03:48.

played exceptionally well. Djokovic, the way he moves, such a competitor.

:03:49.:03:52.

That is the thing that gets me. That is what it means to him. He has a

:03:53.:03:57.

record of losing a lot of grand slam finals. It plays on your mind. That

:03:58.:04:02.

is what I'm saying about desperate, five of the last six finals he has

:04:03.:04:06.

been in he has lost any has lost the last three. He does not turn up to

:04:07.:04:10.

finish second. When the draw is done he thinks he wants to win. Those top

:04:11.:04:16.

days when he was the man and he got rid of Federer and Nadal commie was

:04:17.:04:21.

the boss. And he won the Davis Cup. He is only 27 bomb he thinks there

:04:22.:04:31.

is a lot left. - back he is only 27. Boris Becker, when you see him

:04:32.:04:37.

commie thinks he is king here. I am sure part of that has gone into

:04:38.:04:42.

Novak. I think the next day or so before this match, there will be

:04:43.:04:45.

conversations. Boris Becker will be pumping him up. Even the great

:04:46.:04:50.

champions have doubts. Djokovic's record in Grand Slams has not been

:04:51.:04:54.

great. Having someone like Boris in his corner, who will give him so

:04:55.:04:58.

much confidence, that could be the difference. I was just thinking as

:04:59.:05:04.

we watched the last point, I hope I was not sounding too disappointed on

:05:05.:05:08.

commentary. It's just I wanted a fifth set so badly. The crowd did as

:05:09.:05:16.

well. It was bubbling up nicely. Dimitrov will be back year after

:05:17.:05:20.

year, this loss will hurt him so badly. I know, but I think he has

:05:21.:05:25.

proved to everyone he was overawed by the occasion and he will be back

:05:26.:05:30.

in that match arena regained. He may never play a poorer first set in a

:05:31.:05:33.

match than he did there. He was not quite right, was he? He lost four

:05:34.:05:39.

straight points on his serve in one game. As the three doubles... And he

:05:40.:05:49.

missed his first. This is where he let Djokovic back into the game.

:05:50.:05:54.

Such a beautiful all court game. He was trying to force himself, impose

:05:55.:05:58.

himself in the match. It did bring up quite a few errors. That is what

:05:59.:06:03.

Roger Rasheed has been going on about. 25%, an exaggeration, but

:06:04.:06:07.

there is still some missing pieces in terms of shot selection. The

:06:08.:06:14.

great players, when they miss, they do not miss three or four times in a

:06:15.:06:18.

road like he did to lose a service game. Roger Rasheed will get onto

:06:19.:06:21.

him and say you cannot have those type of dips, four straight points,

:06:22.:06:27.

you cannot do that at this level. There will come a time where

:06:28.:06:32.

Djokovic perhaps will not be around. Federer won't. Murray is getting

:06:33.:06:35.

older. You look at the next generation, and for me he is the

:06:36.:06:41.

best of the lot, probably with dull couple of -- Alexander dull

:06:42.:06:57.

ultimately, the two big boys are in the finals. Absolutely. We were

:06:58.:07:04.

showing the errors of Dimitrov, but he was or is going to make mistakes

:07:05.:07:07.

because he was trying to force the match. He was the one who would have

:07:08.:07:12.

to be more aggressive. His game plan was very straightforward. Pretty

:07:13.:07:16.

much the same as against Murray. If you see a second serve, attack it,

:07:17.:07:20.

more difficult against Doctor pitch because he has more variety. --

:07:21.:07:30.

against Djokovic. It did not work will stop he was thinking. That was

:07:31.:07:35.

huge encouragement. As John McEnroe and John Lloyd were saying in

:07:36.:07:39.

commentary, he did change in the match and it almost paid off. He

:07:40.:07:46.

will beat it -- be thinking about the 6-3. Now we can hear what he had

:07:47.:07:53.

to say. Commiserations. I think many people have been pleased of what you

:07:54.:07:57.

have done and are proud of you. How do you feel in the immediate

:07:58.:08:04.

aftermath of the defeat? It is tough at the moment. It is never easy to

:08:05.:08:11.

talk after a match like that. All credit to know that commie deserved

:08:12.:08:14.

to win in the end. He fought tremendously in the tie-break. On

:08:15.:08:21.

the other hand, I am not satisfied with the result. I am giving myself

:08:22.:08:28.

positive vibes. I'm very excited about the prospect of the upcoming

:08:29.:08:33.

weeks and tournaments. I think I have built up a good, solid base. It

:08:34.:08:46.

is just one of those days, I have to keep my head up. You mentioned the

:08:47.:08:53.

fourth set, the tie-break, you had an opportunity. The focus from the

:08:54.:09:00.

camera was on your face. You looked so frustrated and distraught when

:09:01.:09:02.

the opportunity slipped, can you describe the moment for us? I had

:09:03.:09:08.

the momentum, I just needed one point. I counted my best serve. He

:09:09.:09:18.

was there. Even when I saved the first match point, I knew it would

:09:19.:09:25.

not be easy. The whole matching was serving really good. I had to count

:09:26.:09:32.

on something else. Luckily enough... Unluckily enough it did

:09:33.:09:36.

not go my way. You were slipping and sliding a little bit on court, where

:09:37.:09:39.

you a little uncomfortable with something? The court is getting a

:09:40.:09:48.

bit rougher. Whatever for me, it is the same for him, there are no

:09:49.:09:51.

excuses on that side. You just have to face the struggles. A commendable

:09:52.:09:58.

attitude after the match, Novak said you already a top player. I suppose

:09:59.:10:02.

that is some consolation to take out of it? I am not thinking like that

:10:03.:10:08.

any more. I think I have passed that stage. Of course, it is nice to hear

:10:09.:10:17.

it, but I do not think I have... I'm disappointed with the loss. I came

:10:18.:10:21.

on the court to win. That was my ultimate goal. I am a top player. I

:10:22.:10:28.

keep proving every week, every tournaments that I can be at the

:10:29.:10:32.

top, that is my goal. Often people at the end of the tournament say

:10:33.:10:35.

what are the lessons learned? Will it come into your head now? Is there

:10:36.:10:40.

something you have learned? The whole experience. Semifinals of the

:10:41.:10:50.

Grand Slam, it's so positive, I can take a lot of lessons out of that.

:10:51.:10:56.

The matches I have one, even the tight ones. I can stay positive.

:10:57.:11:01.

Thank your time, commiserations, hopefully see you again next year.

:11:02.:11:08.

SUE BARKER: Exciting times ahead for Dimitrov. He is a star. He is one of

:11:09.:11:17.

the most marketable sportspeople. You hope in two or three years time

:11:18.:11:21.

he is not too branded and packaged, if you like. You hope he retains his

:11:22.:11:27.

touchable tea. We have been watching the girls squeal at Queen's Club

:11:28.:11:31.

ever since he has been turning up there. He is just a really good

:11:32.:11:37.

bloke. His tennis is fantastic. The next time he goes a steep in a Grand

:11:38.:11:40.

Slam he will be that much more ready. I hope he remains open and

:11:41.:11:47.

transparent and as good people as he is now. I cannot get enough of him,

:11:48.:11:51.

he is fantastic. Looking ahead to the final, how do you see it? I

:11:52.:11:57.

agree with Andy. The big thing will be the Djokovic return and the

:11:58.:12:00.

Federer serve and who comes out in that balance. I am going to go for

:12:01.:12:08.

Djokovic. I think Federer is playing unbelievable tennis, but I think

:12:09.:12:14.

when it comes down to it I think Djokovic's return will be too much.

:12:15.:12:17.

I think it will be a close match, great match, but all, Djokovic. I

:12:18.:12:25.

don't know. Me neither. It is as 50-50 as it comes to me. He has lost

:12:26.:12:30.

his last three major finals, Djokovic. Roger is trying to get

:12:31.:12:34.

back in the winner's circle. They will both be desperate to do it. If

:12:35.:12:37.

Djokovic does a goes back to world number one. Amazing. It will be such

:12:38.:12:42.

vindication for the work he has done. I do not know. What about you?

:12:43.:12:47.

I think Federer is the favourite, purely because has Djokovic

:12:48.:12:52.

struggled in quite a few matches here. We know he can turn it around

:12:53.:12:57.

and come out and play his best but from what I have seen so far I think

:12:58.:13:01.

Federer has the advantage. OK, we will see what happens on Sunday. It

:13:02.:13:11.

is on at 1pm on BBC1. The build up the forehand. We look to the final.

8pm. We are going to take you to a semifinal in the Men's Doubles

:23:20.:23:24.

between the US Open champions. We can join in the first set, the start

:23:25.:23:32.

of the tie-break. Your commentators were Mark and Chris.

:23:33.:23:40.

COMMENTATOR: Good catch. Normally dropped because of what we saw

:23:41.:23:52.

earlier, a drink in one hand. CHUCKLES

:23:53.:23:59.

The serving sequence has to be maintained, the Canadian is serving

:24:00.:24:08.

The serving sequence has to be from the opposite end. Sometimes it

:24:09.:24:11.

can be a bit disruptive. The ball toss went way forward with the wind.

:24:12.:24:35.

He did well to get the ball in the air again, the smash was too

:24:36.:24:43.

powerful. It is a scratch pairing, they are

:24:44.:24:55.

getting to know each other. This is a huge moment, mentally. It

:24:56.:25:15.

is why the umpire sit in the middle. He is saying the ball was hit before

:25:16.:25:19.

it came over the net. That does not happen to often. At an

:25:20.:25:42.

important stage in this match, that could be

:25:43.:25:50.

It was an important point to win, wasn't it? It was, important for

:25:51.:26:13.

both. I was surprised Paes missed the volley. Great length. I think

:26:14.:26:23.

that was just inside both lines. Give them time for a longer chat,

:26:24.:26:37.

perhaps. from that error, an error taking the

:26:38.:27:10.

ball a little too early. It is very tempting, it is always difficult

:27:11.:27:15.

when that ball is coming. This was the point, he moves across. The ball

:27:16.:27:23.

is hovering in the air, it is so tempting to take the ball before it

:27:24.:27:29.

comes over the net, which he does there. In danger of hitting the net,

:27:30.:27:36.

as well. It may not have even come over, that ball. Anyway,

:27:37.:27:40.

as well. It may not have even come long gone, 3-3 in the tie-break.

:27:41.:27:48.

That is interference. I think they are absolutely right, Pospisil and

:27:49.:27:59.

Sock. I'm saying he said yes, as he hit

:28:00.:28:25.

the ball. It was not an interference. How is it a different

:28:26.:28:39.

story? The point was not over, how could you say it was not

:28:40.:28:39.

interference? That has added quite could you say it was not

:28:40.:28:45.

bit of spice to the semifinal, the gloves are off.

:28:46.:29:03.

It is called the Gentlemen's Doubles, this.

:29:04.:29:57.

return. He moved so quickly as well. That ball was a mishit from Paes.

:29:58.:30:04.

Amazing how quickly he got up to it. Paes off-guard, could not quite get

:30:05.:30:08.

out of the way and slipped in the process.

:30:09.:30:14.

LAUGHTER It is 5-5 in the break.

:30:15.:30:29.

Could be a while before the handshake but it will be an

:30:30.:30:31.

interesting one. advantage. They have done it

:30:32.:30:48.

brilliantly as well. Stepanek is the one that has gone quiet all of a

:30:49.:30:49.

sudden. It backfired and Stepanek. That is

:30:50.:31:31.

for sure. -- it backfired and Stepanek. SUE BARKER: and it did

from there as well as the unseeded pair took the next two sets will

stop this is how they finished it off. Putting out the U.S. Open

:31:40.:31:41.

champions. This was match point. Big celebration from the Canadian-

:31:42.:31:53.

US team out on court number three. Now they are in the final and they

:31:54.:32:09.

will be back on court tomorrow. Taking on the top seeds. The Dyer

:32:10.:32:21.

brothers. The top seeds beating Llodra and Mahut. -- the Bryan

:32:22.:32:22.

brothers. They went through to the final once

:32:23.:32:33.

again. They are looking for their 16th Grand Slam title.

:32:34.:32:42.

The number two seeds are through to their own first Wimbledon final.

:32:43.:32:54.

The Ladies' Doubles will be tomorrow.

:32:55.:33:20.

The tennis continues here. Some of the legends of the game out on

:33:21.:33:24.

Centre Court right now. One of our commentary team Peter

:33:25.:33:58.

Fleming is out on Court Number One. That is Mark Woodforde we are

:33:59.:33:59.

looking at. It is actually Patrick McEnroe Peter

:34:00.:34:10.

Fleming is playing with. We will have some fun until 8pm when

:34:11.:34:20.

John is here with the highlights. We are joining Mansour Bahrami and

:34:21.:34:50.

Henri Leconte. And McNamara is serving.

:34:51.:35:42.

Have you been drinking officer? Leconte walking the line!

:35:43.:36:22.

We have had half an hour of highly entertaining tennis on Court Number

:36:23.:37:20.

One. You really have to marvel at the stroke play these guys are still

:37:21.:37:24.

able to produce. In amongst all of the entertaining rallies, and

:37:25.:37:32.

incredible touch. This is better than going to the movies! It is

:37:33.:37:41.

compelling. Leconte with his mind on the World Cup out in Brazil. Brazil

:37:42.:37:46.

playing Colombia. France and Germany. It is all happening.

:37:47.:37:55.

The talent that Bahrami possesses is apparent. He was not able to turn

:37:56.:38:20.

professional until the age of 30. Left his native Iraqi and moved over

:38:21.:38:35.

to France. -- left his native I run -- Iran.

:38:36.:39:22.

GROANS FROM CROWD It always was his strength.

:39:23.:39:34.

The final volley came with a flourish from Leconte.

:39:35.:39:50.

UMPIRE: Four games all. Three points in one of their!

:39:51.:42:04.

McNamara a little bit of trouble but he is gritting his teeth through the

:42:05.:43:40.

pain. Playing his part in what is a highly entertaining senior

:43:41.:43:48.

invitation doubles. He should be careful not to get an iceberg and

:43:49.:43:50.

read as well. -- and ice burn. LAUGHTER

:43:51.:44:00.

He sorts him out. LAUGHTER

:44:01.:46:25.

A home run from Henri Leconte. It is on the roof! RHYTHMIC CLAPPING

:46:26.:47:21.

LAUGHTER What a turnaround! And incredible

:47:22.:47:27.

stroke play during the course of the rally.

:47:28.:47:50.

McNamara in the firing line. LAUGHTER

:47:51.:50:06.

Do you think we can sing happy birthday to my friend?

:50:07.:50:12.

Changing the lines team. He wants to be a lines man. Oh no, he is just

:50:13.:50:44.

doing a lap of honour. CHEERING Hello everyone. We have a request

:50:45.:50:57.

from our friends. They would like to sing the happy birthday song for

:50:58.:50:58.

Henri Leconte. And God SINGING SINGING

:50:59.:51:24.

APPLAUSE CHEERING

:51:25.:51:33.

What a wonderful moment. Cliff Richard, eat your heart out! It is

:51:34.:51:44.

Leconte's birthday today. It is McNamara's birthday tomorrow.

:51:45.:51:56.

CHEERING He has found the good stuff!

:51:57.:52:26.

The birthday boy sharing a drink. LAUGHTER

:52:27.:52:34.

CHEERING Happy birthday. CHEERING

:52:35.:52:51.

A toast for Henri Leconte. CHEERING

:52:52.:54:03.

It was declared 120. It is an ace. It hasn't even registered! Another

:54:04.:54:08.

one coming, 130! LAUGHTER

:54:09.:54:56.

Wonderful! Expecting the big one and then the drop serve.

:54:57.:55:11.

After 48 minutes of play... Come on everybody! It is Bahrami and Leconte

:55:12.:56:03.

to have taken the first step. -- first set. The more the merrier!

:56:04.:56:13.

Enticing people to come and watch this spectacle. It has been quite

:56:14.:56:15.

wonderful. APPLAUSE

:56:16.:56:56.

Excellent doubles play. McNamara taking the short route

:56:57.:57:49.

rather than the traditional route. Still, that elbows is giving him a

:57:50.:58:20.

few problems. He has had ice on it on all of the changeovers. I do not

:58:21.:58:23.

want this match to finish! Bahrami did incredibly well to get a

:58:24.:59:26.

bracket on it, but ultimately took it on the body. Almost got him in

:59:27.:59:29.

the circumstances, as well! LAUGHTER

:59:30.:00:09.

Amazing. Oh, fantastic! A standing ovation

:00:10.:01:37.

from the crowd on Court One. That incredible shot from Bahrami.

:01:38.:01:46.

LAUGHTER He is exhausted.

:01:47.:02:09.

It is out, why do you want to play two?

:02:10.:03:25.

Henri Leconte picking up the ball and threatening to go home. He is

:03:26.:03:31.

upset. You have hurt his feelings. Down on his knees with a concluding

:03:32.:04:49.

part of that point. How long have we been playing,

:04:50.:05:13.

umpire? A real battle at the net between

:05:14.:05:26.

these two. APPLAUSE

:05:27.:06:52.

After all the skill, putting the ball on a string. To make it spin

:06:53.:06:59.

back really took some doing, serious undercut.

:07:00.:07:43.

APPLAUSE Standing in front of the net once

:07:44.:09:17.

more, McNamara. Five pieces fired down by McNamee.

:09:18.:10:00.

-- five aces. We have gone past the hour mark here

:10:01.:10:50.

now. In this gentleman 's Invitational doubles for seniors. No

:10:51.:10:57.

let up in the level of play. Still some wonderful oaks being produced.

:10:58.:11:07.

-- strokes. What a wonderful way for people to spend their Friday

:11:08.:11:11.

evening, after a long week at work. Such an entertaining duo, aren't

:11:12.:11:21.

they? He has got as many balls as he can hold. Henri has had a birthday

:11:22.:11:30.

drink in celebration, they have had a birthday song for him.

:11:31.:11:41.

On serve, second set, not that it stands for much. It is a bit breezy

:11:42.:11:48.

out there. Hello grampa. You can do it, come

:11:49.:12:34.

on. That could not have gone any worse

:12:35.:14:02.

for McNamara there. Bahrami and Leconte have a break in

:14:03.:15:26.

the second set. They are looking to keep their hopes alive are

:15:27.:15:33.

progressing from group B, into the senior Invitational doubles finals.

:15:34.:15:40.

The Court One crowd just being treated to confirmation of the score

:15:41.:16:14.

on Centre Court, that is what the applause was about a few moments

:16:15.:16:23.

ago. But here in this match, Leconte to serve, they are a break to the

:16:24.:16:28.

good, leading 4-3, and by one set to love.

:16:29.:16:45.

LAUGHTER He has done that on several

:16:46.:16:54.

occasions in the course of this match, incredible skill.

:16:55.:17:02.

Double fault. What? ! That will teach him.

:17:03.:18:31.

That sent McNamara into stitches of laughter. He has some on in his

:18:32.:18:56.

sights who is going to get it. Who is it going to be? What is he doing?

:18:57.:19:16.

He is scared. Just a bit of family backing. What a moment for this

:19:17.:19:25.

youngster. APPLAUSE Onto Court One with Henri Leconte.

:19:26.:19:38.

Do you want to play? Come on. Up. Use going to play with him in his

:19:39.:20:06.

arms, lovely. What a great moment. -- he is going to play.

:20:07.:20:17.

A lovely moment for the young lad. Captured for posterity by McNamee.

:20:18.:20:40.

APPLAUSE And a souvenir.

:20:41.:20:58.

What a story he will have two tell to his school chums on Monday. How

:20:59.:21:09.

did you spend your weekend, Young Jackson? Let me tell you...

:21:10.:21:18.

Ouch, no holds barred! In your face. McNamara.

:21:19.:22:11.

Bahrami will have the opportunity to serve this one out. Victory here

:22:12.:23:05.

would improve the standing of Bahrami and Leconte. The ever

:23:06.:23:17.

entertaining player will have to serve it out. What a moment in the

:23:18.:23:22.

memory banks of this youngster. He is all smiles, isn't he? He will be

:23:23.:23:28.

taking that smile to bed with him, as well as the sweatband, I am sure.

:23:29.:23:38.

The a really good crowd in attendance on Court One. They have

Out. LAUGHTER APPLAUSE

:25:45.:26:05.

What a fantastic evening of senior Invitational we have just enjoyed.

:26:06.:26:14.

Just look at the response from the Court One crowd. A standing ovation

:26:15.:26:22.

for all four players involved. Take a bow indeed, gentlemen. You have

:26:23.:26:27.

provided the most wonderful entertainment. The crowd in

:26:28.:26:35.
