no place for the faint-hearted. You need guts, skill, and determination.

:00:49.:00:53.

You need to fight for your first point to the last. No excuses. You

:00:54.:00:59.

have to be prepared to put your body on the line. Shot after shot,

:01:00.:01:06.

through the ups and downs. Whatever it takes, just get the job done.

:01:07.:01:13.

# You've got to fight for your Right to party...

:01:14.:01:32.

COMMENTATOR: It is a belter. Fabulous stuff. Glorious. Just

:01:33.:01:45.

superb. It is absolutely exhilarating watching these on the

:01:46.:01:46.

run. What is this tennis now? SUE BARKER: Jimmy Connors knows all

:01:47.:02:01.

about the importance of the quarterfinals and we have some

:02:02.:02:04.

fascinating matches coming up for you this afternoon. For those fans

:02:05.:02:07.

who have arrived at Wimbledon and they are lucky enough to have a

:02:08.:02:10.

ticket for the show must they head to the hill with a picnic in hand to

:02:11.:02:17.

enjoy the drama unfolding on the big screen. You cannot see a blade of

:02:18.:02:20.

grass on the hill because it's such a big day here at Wimbledon. The

:02:21.:02:25.

match about watching at the moment is this one. This happened a few

:02:26.:02:29.

moments ago as the defending champion, Andy Murray stepped onto

:02:30.:02:32.

Centre Court with Gregor dimmer trough, the King of Queen's. A match

:02:33.:02:38.

we have been looking forward to for some time that Grigor Dimitrov. And

:02:39.:02:46.

now, it is on court. A huge ovation for Murray on Centre Court but up

:02:47.:02:51.

against a very, very tough competitor in Grigor Dimitrov, who

:02:52.:02:53.

is enjoying his best season of his career. So Murray against Dimitrov

:02:54.:03:04.

on Centre Court. Novak Djokovic is on Court Number One and later on we

:03:05.:03:08.

will see the new sensation Nick Kyrgios who pulled off one of the

:03:09.:03:10.

biggest shocks in Wimbledon history yesterday so let's take a look at

:03:11.:03:19.

the four matches in detail. Defending champion Andy Murray is

:03:20.:03:21.

targeting a sixth consecutive Wimbledon semifinal but former

:03:22.:03:25.

junior champion Grigor Dimitrov feels his time has finally come. The

:03:26.:03:33.

top seed Novak Djokovic has beaten Marin Cilic in all their previous

:03:34.:03:36.

nine meetings. Today would be the perfect time for him to change that

:03:37.:03:43.

record. If you are looking for a good Swiss watch, Centre Court is

:03:44.:03:48.

the place as Stan Wawrinka faces seven time champion Roger Federer.

:03:49.:03:58.

Is it time for a new start? Could it be Raonic? Nick Kyrgios? The

:03:59.:04:08.

Conqueror yesterday. So those are the matches we are looking forward

:04:09.:04:12.

to on this ninth day of Wimbledon. It is Murray against Dimitrov at the

:04:13.:04:19.

moment and there is Stan Wawrinka up against Roger Federer, who leads

:04:20.:04:23.

13-2, but this is their first meeting on grass.

:04:24.:04:34.

One result to bring you because they were ladies quarterfinals played and

:04:35.:04:42.

on Centre Court today, Simona Halep, the highest seed in the draw,

:04:43.:04:49.

defeated Sabine Lisicki. She won the next 11 games after being down in

:04:50.:04:55.

the first set. This is how she finished it off. So, Halep, the

:04:56.:04:58.

first Romanian woman to reach the last four at Wimbledon.

:04:59.:05:07.

Simona Halep, what a year she is having. Finalist at the French Open

:05:08.:05:14.

and now in the last four at Wimbledon. That was a short time ago

:05:15.:05:18.

on Centre Court but now we're going back to Centre Court because Andy

:05:19.:05:22.

Murray is in all sorts of trouble. Dimitrov is serving for the first

:05:23.:05:26.

set at 5-1. Two breaks of serve. Let's join our commentators.

:05:27.:05:39.

COMMENTATOR: Things are slipping away for Andy Murray in this opening

:05:40.:05:45.

set. A perfect scenario unfolding for his opponent Grigor Dimitrov in

:05:46.:05:48.

his first ever Wimbledon quarterfinal, but this certainly

:05:49.:05:51.

wasn't the way Murray wanted to pan out. You want to make Dimitrov in

:05:52.:05:53.

it. -- in it. The Bulgarian, just a couple of

:05:54.:06:06.

points away from claiming this first set.

:06:07.:06:25.

Might be a little bit too late, but it's the first time Murray has been

:06:26.:07:12.

proactive rather than reactive. Dimitrov has been dictating the

:07:13.:07:15.

play. Murray needs to find a way in the second set of getting on the

:07:16.:07:17.

front foot. Picture perfect opening set from

:07:18.:08:15.

Grigor Dimitrov, who takes it 6-1. UMPIRE: New balls, please.

:08:16.:08:39.

There is a little murmur wafting around this great Centre Court as

:08:40.:08:47.

they witness what unfolded there. We thought it would be Murray making

:08:48.:08:52.

inroads into his service game and look at that from Dimitrov. The

:08:53.:08:58.

interesting part for me now is there a two minds out there now. Dimitrov

:08:59.:09:03.

played a great first set and leads over Andy Murray. He has to keep a

:09:04.:09:08.

positive attitude and continue to move forward, play the kind of

:09:09.:09:13.

tennis he has played without being too overly aggressive and, on the

:09:14.:09:18.

other side, Murray can't let his head hang down. He has got to pull

:09:19.:09:23.

himself out of this funk he is in so he can get back into this match.

:09:24.:09:29.

Dimitrov played perfect tennis, that said, didn't make any errors, was

:09:30.:09:33.

aggressive when he needed to, mixed up his shots when he needed two and

:09:34.:09:37.

was very patient so, that, to me, is why it was 6-1. It's an interesting

:09:38.:09:43.

mindset because the reality was, coming into this match for Dimitrov

:09:44.:09:46.

playing the defending champion, there was an element he had nothing

:09:47.:09:52.

to lose. Winning the first set, 6-1, you've kind of got something to lose

:09:53.:09:56.

now. You are ahead in the match and it's important to maintain that

:09:57.:10:01.

freedom. Murray served 13 point in that set and only 15, first and

:10:02.:10:06.

second service, so that's an area he needs to get off to a positive start

:10:07.:10:07.

with. Only one point but some positive

:10:08.:10:34.

signs with the body language. Murray trying to get himself fired up.

:10:35.:11:30.

Similar times the opening set dictates the way tennis matches are

:11:31.:11:55.

going to go. Looking at Murray this season, is managed to turn around

:11:56.:12:00.

the deficit nine times. Jimmy, your fifth all-time. Rod Laver is at the

:12:01.:12:06.

very top with Bjorn Borg just behind him in terms of win and loss records

:12:07.:12:09.

after dropping the opening set. You have to remember that this is

:12:10.:12:50.

three out of five, not a sprint. This is a long distance. A lot of

:12:51.:12:53.

things can happen. There's going to be a lot of peaks and valleys in

:12:54.:12:57.

this match and it's just how they both handle them.

:12:58.:13:24.

It is a good return there, moving forward on the second set.

:13:25.:13:36.

more stick on his shots. And the ball back casually and carefully. --

:13:37.:14:43.

Andy. Mixing it up. Some good aggressive

:14:44.:15:25.

play. Tell me your thoughts right now, if

:15:26.:16:06.

you are in Murray 's position? He's got to do a good job on his own

:16:07.:16:10.

serve, create some scoreboard pressure, held his serve and make

:16:11.:16:16.

life to God for Dimitrov. But I think the bottom line is he has got

:16:17.:16:19.

to raise his level. As only been one man in this match so far, and that

:16:20.:16:21.

is Grigor Dimitrov. Certainly is Murray's advantage, but

:16:22.:16:35.

this is a best-of-5 match. Come unstuck at the beginning of the

:16:36.:16:38.

second set, and this could get a very messy for Murray.

:16:39.:17:27.

You just motion to me that he has got to reach a pyre for that serve,

:17:28.:17:34.

right? Yes, he is letting it drop. It's not helping having the sun in

:17:35.:17:40.

his eyes. -- he has got to reach up higher for that serve, right? He

:17:41.:17:45.

could do the first served here so he doesn't have to worry about his

:17:46.:17:47.

second serve. I think it was pretty clear Murray

:17:48.:18:39.

didn't want to hit a second serve them. Only 94 mph on the first

:18:40.:18:41.

serve. That's an effective shot for

:18:42.:19:22.

Dimitrov. Dimitrov dictating play, though. He has got Andy on the run.

:19:23.:19:27.

Mixing his shots up. Hard, over spin, slice.

:19:28.:19:49.

Gritty durable game there for Murray. A gamely needed to win. He

:19:50.:20:42.

got himself into some trouble courtesy of those double faults, but

:20:43.:20:46.

got himself out of it. He did. Certainly now in the next Dimitrov

:20:47.:20:52.

service game, Murray has got to make something happen. He has been

:20:53.:20:55.

waiting for something to come his way and Dimitrov has not given in

:20:56.:20:59.

too many opportunities, so I think Murray has got to dictate from the

:21:00.:21:02.

baseline, get up the court a little bit more and be aggressive. I always

:21:03.:21:08.

divided the court into three positions. Around the baseline, and

:21:09.:21:12.

back was a neutral zone, the patient's zone, to keep the ball in

:21:13.:21:16.

play and work at around and once I got inside the baseline, I used that

:21:17.:21:21.

to be more aggressive and to try to force something. And then, once I

:21:22.:21:25.

got inside the service line, it was the kill zone. Once I got in there,

:21:26.:21:29.

I didn't want to head many volleys. I wanted to make a great approach

:21:30.:21:34.

shot and really, force my opponent to come up with something very

:21:35.:21:38.

special, so I would think that Andy would be looking to get more into

:21:39.:21:43.

the aggressive zone at the beginning, so that he could be a

:21:44.:21:46.

little bit more forceful. And then let that carry him forward even

:21:47.:21:48.

more. Dimitrov, on the other hand, has

:21:49.:22:03.

played perfect tennis to this point for some I don't think there was

:22:04.:22:06.

anything they can say about his game at the moment that he has not done.

:22:07.:22:57.

Again, that is the predicament when your opponent is playing like that.

:22:58.:23:05.

130 mph serves, and dictating from the baseline, there's not a lot to

:23:06.:23:06.

get your teeth stuck into. Fearless moving forward. So many

:23:07.:23:24.

players are cautious coming in against Murray. They look reluctant

:23:25.:23:30.

to come forward. Murray just came through a good service game and then

:23:31.:23:34.

it seems 60 seconds later he is serving again.

:23:35.:24:18.

Just is not impacting Dimitrov's game. Dimitrov is moving

:24:19.:24:26.

exceptionally well, getting in position for every shot.

:24:27.:24:43.

That's one way to put a stop to it! Aces don't win tennis matches full

:24:44.:24:54.

service good to throw that in there but is going to do figure out a way

:24:55.:24:57.

to break into the ground with Dimitrov.

:24:58.:25:58.

Murray held his ground there. Dimitrov didn't quite hit that

:25:59.:26:04.

approach shot quite as solid as he would like. Came off a little bit

:26:05.:26:09.

too much and short. Murray, up to the occasion.

:26:10.:26:30.

A positive service game and a good, positive look up to his box, as

:26:31.:26:37.

every starting to feel as though he is belonging in this quarterfinal.

:26:38.:26:41.

He has been outplayed for almost 45 minutes but it definitely feels as

:26:42.:26:45.

though he's starting to make a few inroads but come at this stage, Tim

:26:46.:26:50.

Henman, in terms of how Dimitrov is serving, is there anything Andy

:26:51.:26:54.

Murray should do, give him a different look? There's no doubt

:26:55.:26:59.

Andy is one of the best returners in the game. I was looking at Dimitrov,

:27:00.:27:04.

and Andy Murray has only won three out of 20 points on the first serve

:27:05.:27:10.

and 16 on the second serve, and that is unusual. He is usually good

:27:11.:27:13.

getting the ball back in play and dominating the valleys, Sony needs

:27:14.:27:16.

to try to get one of the first couple of points on Dimitrov's

:27:17.:27:21.

serves to getting back into the game. Dimitrov have been racing to

:27:22.:27:28.

the games, 40-0. Whether it means Andy Murray standing further back,

:27:29.:27:33.

to the side, it's probably about now, after 45 minutes of having no

:27:34.:27:36.

real impact, he needs to try something different. If he can

:27:37.:27:42.

weather the storm, can Dimitrov keep this level up throughout the course

:27:43.:27:47.

of the whole match? That's the question. If Andy can weather the

:27:48.:27:53.

storm and stay in there and wait for a lull in his game, it will give him

:27:54.:27:57.

a chance to get stuck in there. But, right now, with Dimitrov, there

:27:58.:28:13.

is not one thing he is not doing right. Perfect tennis so far.

:28:14.:29:13.

That ball was back on Dimitrov before he was ready for it. Murray

:29:14.:29:20.

is certainly inside the court on that first serve return. Timed it

:29:21.:29:21.

perfectly. I would try it again here, just to

:29:22.:29:31.

mix it up. It looks like he's coming off the

:29:32.:29:54.

forehand a little bit. Here's not staying down and lifting through it

:29:55.:30:00.

at the last minute. Maybe he could move his feet a little better.

:30:01.:30:21.

those particular balls. His serve once again impeccable. Unbreakable

:30:22.:30:23.

at the moment. If there is one shot that he has

:30:24.:31:22.

always been a little bit uncomfortable with, it is that one.

:31:23.:32:07.

He really lead into that backhand down the line nicely and caught the

:32:08.:32:13.

ball with the top of the banks. You can sense by the reaction of the

:32:14.:32:18.

crowd after he missed that smash, that they understand the importance

:32:19.:32:19.

of this vital seventh game. APPLAUSE

:32:20.:32:38.

CHEERING Stunning. And its standard Murray as

:32:39.:34:30.

well. -- it's done and Murray. -- stunned.

:34:31.:35:11.

That is certainly more positive play, taking the ball a little

:35:12.:35:16.

earlier and getting in behind his shots. You sometimes wonder, why he

:35:17.:35:24.

waits until he is behind to play that style of game. Not an easy

:35:25.:35:29.

situation. It is hard work to play like that,

:35:30.:35:37.

Tim. Certainly is. That is loose. Having saved a break

:35:38.:36:08.

point to get back to deuce and then miss a rallying shot, he cannot

:36:09.:36:16.

afford any donations at this stage. I don't think it is his game though,

:36:17.:36:19.

it is mental. It is his game style. The tennis cathedral falling silent

:36:20.:36:52.

as their man drops that one over the baseline and in doing so, drops his

:36:53.:36:57.

serve, by his high standards on this court, that was a tame end to the

:36:58.:37:06.

game. You can see by his reaction, walking to the next, why did I hit a

:37:07.:37:13.

first serve, 93 mph, on a break point? He really has to get his head

:37:14.:37:19.

together. I know he is keen for history to repeat itself but going

:37:20.:37:22.

to Max sets to love in the quarterfinals this year is taking a

:37:23.:37:23.

little far. Dimitrov has nothing to lose here

:37:24.:37:46.

and he has come at playing that kind of tennis. I would think his

:37:47.:37:50.

confidence is growing at the moment. He sees Murray's body language and

:37:51.:37:53.

knows he is discouraged. We probably don't need to tell you

:37:54.:38:06.

who that is, Hugh Grant. One of the very few unforced errors

:38:07.:38:37.

from Grigor Dimitrov and one of the few times Murray has won the first

:38:38.:38:39.

point on his serve. It is the first time he has been

:38:40.:39:15.

ahead on the Dimitrov serve, is that right? Yes, apart from the opening

:39:16.:39:19.

game where he had the same lead. In this case, Dimitrov will be

:39:20.:39:33.

pretty keen history repeats itself because he got out of that game with

:39:34.:39:38.

some fine serving and he starts a recovery here.

:39:39.:39:53.

That might be the difference, in a trough down comes up with two big

:39:54.:40:04.

serves. Andy throwing it in at 95 mph. Dimitrov not struggling with

:40:05.:40:09.

the sun at this end. Another poor error and it is the

:40:10.:40:35.

shot you do not expect Murray to miss.

:40:36.:40:41.

The magnitude of this game is not lost on Dimitrov I am sure which is

:40:42.:41:16.

why there have been a couple of on. Is that we have not seen so far in

:41:17.:41:22.

this match. -- a couple of unforced errors.

:41:23.:42:46.

Back he calms and credit to him, his quick reactions in that second

:42:47.:42:56.

serve. Dimitrov knew the importance of that point and Murray was equal

:42:57.:42:58.

to the task. A few loose points by Dimitrov in

:42:59.:43:20.

the last couple of games. Good patience by Andy Murray. Mixing

:43:21.:44:54.

his shots. Changing the pace. Dimitrov also felt surprised the

:44:55.:45:19.

call did not come. Just looked a step later there. Did

:45:20.:45:59.

not have enough top-spin, Andy just a little late.

:46:00.:47:07.

Breathtaking in every sense of the word.

:47:08.:47:31.

The most important point of the match, the longest rally of the

:47:32.:47:36.

match. The biggest cheer from the crowd so far.

:47:37.:47:45.

CHEERING The champion coming to the fall. --

:47:46.:48:08.

fore. You can't talk back cans and forehands and stats but at the end

:48:09.:48:12.

of the day, you need a little bit of that under pressure. What an effort

:48:13.:48:19.

by Murray to break back. Immediately, which was huge. The

:48:20.:48:25.

game of Dimitrov maybe went down a little bit and that is weathering

:48:26.:48:28.

the storm which Murray has done and now it is important for him to win

:48:29.:48:32.

this set. To stay stuck in there and do not think he has done his job. It

:48:33.:48:39.

is not over yet. Dimitrov asked to regain his concentration. He cannot

:48:40.:48:43.

let the last game bother him. It will be an interesting game coming

:48:44.:48:48.

out here now. Dimitrov unable to keep himself in the present once he

:48:49.:48:53.

got up a break? You wonder if he got a little bit ahead of himself.

:48:54.:48:59.

Immediately down Love-30. He did a good job to break back, Andy and

:49:00.:49:04.

when you reflect on his performance in this tournament so far, the first

:49:05.:49:10.

four matches were absolutely faultless and it is inevitable in

:49:11.:49:14.

this event, over two weeks, you will have to deal with some adversity. He

:49:15.:49:19.

is in a dogfight right now and he will be looking to try to get

:49:20.:49:22.

another break of serve and get back on level terms.

:49:23.:51:10.

In Murray's world, that is half a chance. You could not criticise him

:51:11.:51:44.

for not going for it. It would have been a home run in your country

:51:45.:51:48.

Jimmy? That would have been out of the part! -- park.

:51:49.:52:46.

That was a good return of a good serve.

:52:47.:53:23.

It is the one man I would say to any man who plays against Murray, go

:53:24.:53:30.

after his second serve. That second serve return was a lot faster than

:53:31.:53:35.

the serve. 94 Mars per hour compared to 79.

:53:36.:53:45.

Murray still not comfortable with the ball toss at this end of the

:53:46.:53:58.

court with the sun. Will he step in and try to do it

:53:59.:54:14.

again? He was a little conservative,

:54:15.:54:44.

Murray. Dimitrov with impeccable lank and

:54:45.:55:01.

perhaps impeccable timing as well. Looking to get a break of serve.

:55:02.:55:30.

This is a good time for a first serve, weak reply and he took

:55:31.:55:35.

advantage of it. The return flirted with the top of

:55:36.:55:59.

the net but got rejected. A brilliant service again in that

:56:00.:57:26.

final point from Murray, again it is depth of character that gets him out

:57:27.:57:32.

of trouble. It was also a good fight to get out of that game. Two gain

:57:33.:57:37.

points for Dimitrov to come and serve. He hit some good first serves

:57:38.:57:45.

and was not afraid to get a little more aggressive. As Tim said

:57:46.:57:48.

earlier, why does he wait until he is down to do that? It would make

:57:49.:57:53.

life easier it seems to me, if he would go forward a little more. This

:57:54.:58:00.

is where he is exciting, as they have been complaints he is boring!

:58:01.:58:05.

The problems with his coaches in the earlier days! LAUGHTER

:58:06.:58:11.

I think the reality is that it goes back to the way he has always played

:58:12.:58:15.

the game. It goes back to when he was playing juniors at eight, nine

:58:16.:58:20.

and ten. His natural game style is to not miss. He moves so well, don't

:58:21.:58:26.

miss, don't miss. And he is very good at it. For him to come out of

:58:27.:58:30.

our comfort zone and be aggressive is not natural for him, but the

:58:31.:58:34.

reality is that to beat the very best and when he has beaten the

:58:35.:58:39.

best, is when he is proactive. Good point. That is a man who looks to

:58:40.:58:44.

beat the best as well on the rugby field, you and have. -- Stuart

:58:45.:58:47.

Lancaster. service game to get himself into a

:58:48.:00:41.

tie-break. Of course, the last time they played on grass courts,

:00:42.:00:47.

Acapulco, Dimitrov won the last two sets.

:00:48.:01:12.

Dimitrov, but I didn't think it would catch Andy off-balance quite

:01:13.:01:18.

that badly. Looks like he's walking in mud at the moment. He is not

:01:19.:01:23.

moving his feet well. Dimitrov, on the other hand, moving brilliantly.

:01:24.:01:46.

A little bit surprising at this stage of the match, the first three

:01:47.:02:22.

points of this vital tie-breaker, unforced errors. Both players will

:02:23.:02:29.

be looking to cut those out. In this position, would you be a little bit

:02:30.:02:37.

more aggressive or passive and let a few errors come? I think you got to

:02:38.:02:41.

play to your strengths. For me, it was being aggressive, getting to the

:02:42.:02:42.

net. defence from Dimitrov. Full Murray,

:02:43.:04:05.

he covered a lot of ground on that point. See how he recovers?

:04:06.:05:15.

Andy can't be satisfied with playing the ball short down the middle. He

:05:16.:05:21.

has given Dimitrov every opportunity to do what he wants. Leave it in the

:05:22.:05:29.

middle of the court with Dimitrov's forehand, you are going to do a lot

:05:30.:05:34.

of running. Andy has got to play to his strengths, but he has got to do

:05:35.:05:37.

the basics well and not dropped the ball in the middle of the court.

:05:38.:06:03.

UMPIRE: Murray challenging the caller. Another one of these

:06:04.:06:13.

challenges in hope, rather than expectation. Very well said.

:06:14.:07:22.

I thought that was a good approach. Andy stayed low. It had good slice

:07:23.:07:29.

on it. Dimitrov held his ground on the one-handed backhand. And ripped

:07:30.:07:38.

it across court. Dimitrov, with a point up in the tie-break.

:07:39.:08:02.

Beautiful. That was not as easy as he made it look, especially at this

:08:03.:08:18.

stage of the match, where... This is no easy task. He comes in, keeps his

:08:19.:08:28.

eye on the ball. A nice, easy touch. It gives a two set points.

:08:29.:08:40.

Dimitrov certainly wasn't afraid to put pressure on Murray in the

:08:41.:09:05.

tie-break. To come in and add a little extra, coming up with a

:09:06.:09:11.

passing shot. Played those last three points beautifully. A passing

:09:12.:09:15.

shot, the drop volley and then putting the pressure on on set

:09:16.:09:19.

point. You can see by that reaction how much it means to him, and

:09:20.:09:25.

looking at the stats in front of us, the last I Murray came back from

:09:26.:09:32.

2-0, was on this very day 12 months ago against Fernando Verdasco. We

:09:33.:09:35.

certainly need history to repeat itself right now. Interesting.

:09:36.:09:42.

Seeing this and the way this match has progressed, to have been sitting

:09:43.:09:48.

in a position like that, sometimes myself, I look back on where I was,

:09:49.:09:53.

if I was two sets down, and what was going through my mind. All I wanted

:09:54.:09:59.

to do was stay in there. Anything can happen. But you can't be

:10:00.:10:02.

passive. You have to play your game and played the way you should be as

:10:03.:10:09.

if you were ahead two sets. On the other hand, from Dimitrov, what a

:10:10.:10:13.

position to be in. The quarterfinals, Centre Court,

:10:14.:10:19.

Wimbledon, two sets up against the former champion. How do you do this?

:10:20.:10:28.

Do you just pound him? Do you say, is this right? This crowd does not

:10:29.:10:33.

want this to happen. It's all that internal dialogue, what's going on

:10:34.:10:41.

in his mind. It will be interesting. Dimitrov has the mind and Murray has

:10:42.:10:46.

the game. It's the internal parts of the game which a happening now,

:10:47.:10:56.

which are most intriguing to me. Certainly, if Dimitrov can hold his

:10:57.:10:58.

first service game here, he will like the fast -- fact he is serving

:10:59.:11:03.

first in the third. It's been a symptom of this match,

:11:04.:13:02.

at moments when you feel Murray is going to turn things around to his

:13:03.:13:06.

advantage, he just unloads with an unforced error and let's Dimitrov

:13:07.:13:07.

off the hook. Sometimes, depth is more important

:13:08.:13:37.

than just hitting the ball hard. Andy, a couple of times during that

:13:38.:13:42.

last game, got the ball much closer to the baseline and put more

:13:43.:13:45.

pressure on Dimitrov that way. Sometimes, a change of pace and not

:13:46.:13:50.

swinging so hard might just work a little bit better. I don't know. I'm

:13:51.:13:56.

trying to put myself in a position right now. It's a little bit hard to

:13:57.:14:00.

do sometimes. He needs to find some inspiration

:14:01.:14:08.

right here, right now. That is outrageously good. Murray

:14:09.:14:40.

does well to get the ball download, but that was some backhand volley. I

:14:41.:14:46.

can identify with that. We would all have been happy with that one!

:14:47.:15:15.

What you can do, I can do also. Both players trying to get in now closer

:15:16.:15:23.

to the net. Shorten the points little.

:15:24.:16:27.

You can see from this point, just the artistry Dimitrov has at his

:16:28.:16:34.

disposal. He hasn't always been able to utilise it as reliably as he

:16:35.:16:38.

would've liked, but it brought the best out of Murray.

:16:39.:18:24.

That's the first shot I can relate to. It's a good change of pace by

:18:25.:18:33.

Murray. He hit of the forehand inside the service line and blue

:18:34.:18:44.

Dimitrov completely off the court. There's been many a celebration on

:18:45.:18:49.

the hill for Murray's victories here over the years. Will there be

:18:50.:18:51.

another one late night? -- tonight? He grew up in Bulgaria, Dimitrov.

:18:52.:19:13.

Learned his trade in Paris, when he moved there at 13.

:19:14.:20:23.

Certainly Dimitrov doing a good job not allowing Murray to emerge from

:20:24.:20:28.

the shadows at the start of this third set. He has really paid this

:20:29.:20:33.

match on his terms and, credit to him for managing to do that, and

:20:34.:20:38.

good use of his feet. We talked about the hard work he has put in

:20:39.:20:41.

from a fitness point of view but these little steps, giving room,

:20:42.:20:44.

playing his strength from backhand corner.

:20:45.:20:58.

He has caught Murray a few times unawares but credit to him he has

:20:59.:21:03.

gone big into the Murray strengthened gone out on top. It's a

:21:04.:21:09.

good point. He has gone to the Murray strike. It puts you in a

:21:10.:21:18.

better position, right? The way he is moving, getting in position to

:21:19.:21:21.

hit his shots, Dimitrov, he is able to hold the ball on his racket a

:21:22.:21:26.

split second longer to catch and eat a little bit late, so Andy is going

:21:27.:21:30.

to have to be ready for everything now. Dimitrov is feeling the finish

:21:31.:21:35.

line is close and he will have to be prepared for everything and try to

:21:36.:21:40.

get stuck in this set. And hope for something good to happen. Right now,

:21:41.:21:46.

his head is down, he looks dejected. This match is not over yet.

:21:47.:22:22.

surprise is Dimitrov's movement and how controlled he is able to slide

:22:23.:22:27.

on a grass court. We saw it on the first few days when it is a bit

:22:28.:22:34.

greasy, but not when it is so bear. That should bear.

:22:35.:23:07.

That's more the modern game, Tim, these guys are sliding on hard

:23:08.:23:15.

courts, too? It's incredible how it's changed. Sliding on a clay

:23:16.:23:19.

court, we could understand that, but a grass court and a hard court, it

:23:20.:23:21.

is a new element. It might have been a year ago he

:23:22.:24:03.

came back from 2-0 to win the title here, but he's done it seven times

:24:04.:24:07.

in his career. He knows this process well, the little steps that you take

:24:08.:24:09.

early on in the recovery. I don't know about that. I think I

:24:10.:24:47.

would have taken that one out of the air. But that's why I am sitting

:24:48.:24:58.

here! I remember seeing you taking a few out of the air, Jimmy.

:24:59.:25:37.

Not entirely happy with his footing, but he is certainly losing his grip

:25:38.:25:43.

on the match. Andy was not happy with that first

:25:44.:26:14.

drop volley. It was a little too deep. Full stretch.

:26:15.:26:42.

You mentioned earlier, Jimmy, Murray got into the rally, played a sliced

:26:43.:26:49.

backhand, which landed a couple of feet from the centre of the court

:26:50.:26:52.

and with Dimitrov's forehand, he's just going to punish you. It's not

:26:53.:26:56.

going to get it done for Murray. That ball was right inside the

:26:57.:27:20.

baseline. Sometimes, like I said earlier, you don't have to hit it

:27:21.:27:24.

quite so hard. Just the depth takes care of itself.

:27:25.:27:48.

Credit where credit is due. It is a great serve. Murray only broken once

:27:49.:27:58.

in this match. Roque and 25 times coming into the tournament. --

:27:59.:28:03.

broken 25 times coming into the tournament.

:28:04.:28:14.

25 times coming into this match, rather, and he certainly needs

:28:15.:28:18.

another break of serve. I'd say Murray breaks a string twice

:28:19.:29:14.

a year. And at 2-0 down, it's not a good time to break a string. Once a

:29:15.:29:19.

string breaks, you have very little control over a ball.

:29:20.:29:53.

BARKER: Andy Murray fighting hard but Grigor Dimitrov playing superb

:29:54.:30:00.

tennis. The men's quarterfinal is taking place on Court Number One.

:30:01.:30:34.

been on the cusp of making something. The Duke and Duchess of

:30:35.:30:40.

Cambridge looking slightly anxious, understandably so. The Dutch chef

:30:41.:30:53.

loves her tennis. -- the Duchess. Andy Murray uses that hybrid of

:30:54.:30:58.

synthetic string and gut string and it does not sometimes give you any

:30:59.:31:05.

notice it is going to go. As Tim said, when the string rakes, you

:31:06.:31:16.

lose all control. -- once this string breaks. There are no scripts,

:31:17.:31:24.

we do not know what is going to happen and that is why we watch but

:31:25.:31:27.

Murray needs to be on his guard right now.

:31:28.:32:35.

facing after he hit that shot? Facing the players's box and pulling

:32:36.:32:37.

of it far too quickly. That is great movement around the

:32:38.:33:11.

court by both players. Andy caught a little off-guard there. Quick, firm

:33:12.:33:13.

shot. That is the one. Dimitrov took a little bit of a

:33:14.:34:04.

gamble, he was well inside the baseline. He has been caught a

:34:05.:34:08.

couple of times with some strong second serves out wide.

:34:09.:34:24.

Close to the edge of the abyss here for Murray in the third set. Did he

:34:25.:34:33.

do it again, in that forehand, did he pour off... He cannot afford

:34:34.:34:39.

these unforced errors at this stage. in the end, it was the gift of a

:34:40.:34:49.

break of serve to Dimitrov. Perhaps the evidence of the pressure

:34:50.:36:25.

Murray is feeling out there. is up against against Dimitrov, what

:36:26.:36:59.

about the pressure of defending? Does that come into play? Looking

:37:00.:37:04.

back over the course of history, it has been difficult for first-time

:37:05.:37:08.

winners here at Wimbledon to defend their title. Just four of them have

:37:09.:37:10.

managed to do it. Look at the movement here from

:37:11.:37:37.

Dimitrov, he slips, he turns, and he is back into position. And he ends

:37:38.:37:42.

up winning a big, big point. Having just broken Murray's serve.

:37:43.:38:17.

I think it is safe to say that Dimitrov can see the finish line but

:38:18.:38:22.

it is important he does not look at it just yet. He has to play it one

:38:23.:38:25.

point at a time. Dimitrov surely took a sigh of

:38:26.:38:44.

relief there, it was a gift. I have watched Andy since he was 16

:38:45.:39:12.

and some of the areas that generally he has been rock solid and so secure

:39:13.:39:16.

on, just have not been apparent today.

:39:17.:39:28.

Dimitrov has grasped this opportunity with both hands.

:39:29.:39:42.

He is within one game of a semifinal place at Wimbledon. He was one good

:39:43.:39:51.

forehand away from going up two set to one against Nadal in Australia.

:39:52.:39:56.

We talked at the start of the match about moments in both of these

:39:57.:40:00.

guys's careers, that can come back to help you in certain situations

:40:01.:40:04.

and today, he has looked Serena and calm when the moment of calm. We

:40:05.:40:10.

talked earlier about these young guys, these young players that come

:40:11.:40:13.

out and play. They feel it is their time. Federer has been up there for

:40:14.:40:21.

a while. Nadal has won nine French opens and Murray and Djokovic as

:40:22.:40:26.

well. They are looking at the opportunity to get to the top. To

:40:27.:40:32.

play on this Centre Court at Wimbledon and play like this with no

:40:33.:40:36.

fear, it is really something special. And it is fun to watch.

:40:37.:40:43.

And that is youth. Sometimes, it is wasted on the young. But there it

:40:44.:40:51.

is. It is evident right in front of us of what is to follow.

:40:52.:43:13.

Two hours have gone and two match points for Dimitrov.

:43:14.:44:01.

The defence of Murray's Wimbledon crown is over. Defeated by a man we

:44:02.:44:13.

all knew was going to be dangerous. The Wimbledon champion is out.

:44:14.:44:21.

Grigor Dimitrov has been a name on many people's lips for many years

:44:22.:44:25.

now and his time has finally come here on Centre Court today. What a

:44:26.:44:30.

performance. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

:44:31.:44:53.

looking on. Obviously, as everybody else is, a little despondent, that

:44:54.:45:00.

Murray has fallen, particularly in straight sets. A heavy defeat in

:45:01.:45:13.

many ways, a glimmer of hope in the second set which he took to a

:45:14.:45:14.

tie-break. CHEERING

:45:15.:45:19.

APPLAUSE It will not be the last time he

:45:20.:45:39.

takes this walk from Centre Court but it will be the last time he

:45:40.:45:45.

takes it this year. Such a strong showing through to the

:45:46.:45:54.

quarterfinals. Out in straight sets. He really is such a vicious

:45:55.:46:01.

competitor, that will hurt. One of the young guns that many people in

:46:02.:46:07.

the world of tennis have been looking to as really made his mark

:46:08.:46:12.

this year in 2014. Started by reaching the second week of a Grand

:46:13.:46:15.

Slam for the second time in Australia. And here, he is still in,

:46:16.:46:27.

through to the last format. -- four. It is the perfect stage to make an

:46:28.:46:30.

impression. And he did so emphatically.

:46:31.:46:38.

We will hear his thoughts now. Congratulations. It must feel like a

:46:39.:46:49.

dream come true? Yes. I am excited. I am happy I went through that match

:46:50.:46:53.

in straight sets, it is never easy coming to play against Andy,

:46:54.:46:54.

especially in the home crowd. I have been pretty fortunate today

:46:55.:47:06.

and I am happy. You played pretty well. Andy maybe was not at his

:47:07.:47:11.

usual level, did you sense an opportunity it might be early doors?

:47:12.:47:16.

When warming up I sensed his game was not at his highest level but at

:47:17.:47:20.

the same time, I was feeling pretty confident. I knew it would be a good

:47:21.:47:24.

match. The first set really helped me get into a good rhythm and I was

:47:25.:47:27.

holding my ground throughout the whole match will stop the second set

:47:28.:47:32.

tie-break was the key moment for me. Coming into that third set, I had a

:47:33.:47:38.

lot of things under control. It is interesting you could sense it so

:47:39.:47:41.

early that maybe Andy was not going to be on his top form initially. You

:47:42.:47:46.

have played a lot with him in practice. You know him well, does

:47:47.:47:51.

that help? Indeed, I think it helped a little bit. Matches are different

:47:52.:47:57.

things. When it is time to play, there is a mentality change. It does

:47:58.:48:02.

not really matter. It is the equivalent of a practice match.

:48:03.:48:10.

Today was one of those days. I was pretty steady during the whole

:48:11.:48:16.

match. And I came out of the winner. You have been playing so well. We

:48:17.:48:20.

saw you at Queen's, this is a tremendous run here, semifinal at

:48:21.:48:28.

Wimbledon. You seem edible bit subdued, is it because Andy Murray

:48:29.:48:36.

is a friend? Yes. It is a tough feeling when you know the person

:48:37.:48:38.

well outside the court and then you have to face them on a court like

:48:39.:48:46.

that. The only thing I can say, I have hopefully two more matches to

:48:47.:48:50.

play and I am trying to stay on course and prepare for the next one.

:48:51.:48:56.

Tremendous performance, well done. Thank you. SUE BARKER: he might be

:48:57.:49:00.

through to his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon but he has

:49:01.:49:04.

his eye on going even further. He is wanting to win the next one as well.

:49:05.:49:09.

What a performance from Grigor Dimitrov. He continues his amazing

:49:10.:49:13.

summer on the grass courts. Ten matches unbeaten. From Queen's and

:49:14.:49:18.

at Wimbledon but a disappointing end to Andy Murray's defence. You can

:49:19.:49:22.

take nothing away from this man, he produced the match of his life.

:49:23.:49:31.

That was on Centre Court. Andy is with me in the studio to analyse

:49:32.:49:37.

that match. We will also hear from our commentary team as well. We did

:49:38.:49:42.

not expect that at the start of the day, Jimmy, it is tough to come back

:49:43.:49:47.

and defend your title. Only four men have done that, having won the title

:49:48.:49:52.

for the first time and they are big names. Boris Becker, Bjorn Borg,

:49:53.:49:58.

Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. It is not easy and Andy came out today

:49:59.:50:02.

and I thought he looked a little flat earlier on but all credit to

:50:03.:50:07.

Dimitrov. He was eager and he was on top of his game. He was in full

:50:08.:50:11.

flight in my opinion. It is interesting, the last couple of

:50:12.:50:15.

days, to see the young guys come out, they expect to win. They are

:50:16.:50:20.

playing the kind of tennis that allows them to go forward and to

:50:21.:50:23.

start making their name on this Centre Court at Wimbledon. It has

:50:24.:50:28.

been fun to watch. Tim, Dimitrov was attacking and dominating. What about

:50:29.:50:34.

the service of Andy Murray, that was his chance to dominate. I think with

:50:35.:50:39.

Andy's performance in his first matches, his serving had been first

:50:40.:50:44.

class and today he struggle. His first serve this was not so bad, but

:50:45.:50:53.

every time he lost the first serve, he only won I think about three out

:50:54.:50:58.

of ten on the second serve. Dimitrov played fantastically well. He

:50:59.:51:03.

dominated from the word go. He won the first set 6-1 in ten minutes. He

:51:04.:51:10.

played three great points in a row and it will be an uphill battle.

:51:11.:51:15.

Andy will be very honest and he did not play his best today. From our

:51:16.:51:19.

point of view, I don't think there is too much to analyse. Sometimes

:51:20.:51:22.

you looked into these different types of reasons, and he did not

:51:23.:51:27.

play very well today and his opponent took full advantage and

:51:28.:51:31.

congratulations to Dimitrov. Because he is another future star. He is one

:51:32.:51:36.

of these young up-and-coming players that will be around for a very long

:51:37.:51:41.

time. He did not put a foot wrong. Mark Petchey, you know Andy well.

:51:42.:51:49.

There was nothing there for him? That is the one big surprise. When I

:51:50.:51:53.

have watched, I am always sitting here thinking, this is the moment

:51:54.:51:57.

when he will turn it around. Because it has happened so many times.

:51:58.:52:01.

Rising up through the rankings and once he settled in the top ten, he

:52:02.:52:06.

has always had that inmate ability that all these champions have, to

:52:07.:52:10.

figure it out somehow and change his game and get in his opponent's head.

:52:11.:52:14.

Today, there were about X or seven times when I thought, this is the

:52:15.:52:20.

moment. And he delivered the unforced errors which is so unlike

:52:21.:52:24.

him. Read it to Dimitrov, his movement at the back of the court

:52:25.:52:29.

today was exceptional. -- credit to Dimitrov. I think he was a little

:52:30.:52:36.

bit put off at how well Dimitrov was able to deal with some of his shots.

:52:37.:52:43.

This is Andrew. Do you see Dimitrov as a person who can now go ahead and

:52:44.:52:49.

beat Djokovic and possibly Federer in the final? There are a lot of

:52:50.:52:54.

steps to take but do you see him as a possible champion? When it was

:52:55.:52:58.

suggested at Queen's Club, most people laughed and said, no way, too

:52:59.:53:03.

soon. He is in the semifinal, now, you have to just say, why not? He

:53:04.:53:10.

has got to this point. He played spectacular tennis today. It will

:53:11.:53:14.

not get any easier, it will get tougher and he will have to lift his

:53:15.:53:18.

level of play. He is in the semifinal. If he is satisfied with

:53:19.:53:24.

just being there, that is the question, and I don't think he is. I

:53:25.:53:29.

don't think any of the young guys are. They want to make their name at

:53:30.:53:32.

Wimbledon now and they are willing to play that kind of tennis to do

:53:33.:53:37.

it. In that interview, that came across. He said he had won this

:53:38.:53:42.

match but he is I was on the bigger picture. -- he had his eye on the

:53:43.:53:49.

bigger picture. Why was Andy Murray not attacking more? We talked about

:53:50.:53:54.

with Ivan Lendl how we encouraged him to go forward and make things

:53:55.:53:58.

happen. He reverted back to his old style a little today. We talked a

:53:59.:54:04.

little bit about it in commentary. Andy is at his best when he is

:54:05.:54:11.

proactive. His default mechanism is to run and try to not miss and

:54:12.:54:15.

against Dimitrov playing as well as he was, absolutely he needed to be

:54:16.:54:19.

more aggressive. That centres around his verve to set up the opportunity

:54:20.:54:23.

to move forward. He did not serve his best today. When they were

:54:24.:54:29.

getting into baseline rallies, Dimitrov's defensive skills kept him

:54:30.:54:34.

in rallies. He is trying to find different solutions to the conundrum

:54:35.:54:37.

out there but was not able to do it. It will be a match that he will

:54:38.:54:41.

reflect on in the coming days and weeks. He will learn from it and I

:54:42.:54:46.

am sure he has many more opportunities in the future. Tank

:54:47.:54:53.

you guys. -- thank you. It is difficult when you are on the

:54:54.:54:56.

receiving end of these rallies, fighting to stay in the rally, to

:54:57.:54:59.

get yourself into a positive frame of mind? And if you do not get out

:55:00.:55:04.

there thinking in quite the same way, or the right way, someone with

:55:05.:55:12.

brilliant tactics, it is tough to play your way in. We used to ease

:55:13.:55:21.

our way into matches but nowadays, you cannot afford to take a step

:55:22.:55:26.

back even for a moment. Congratulations to Roger Rasheed,

:55:27.:55:32.

the strategy was brilliant. I happen to be speaking with Roger and Grigor

:55:33.:55:35.

Dimitrov at the practice court on Sunday. They were doing very

:55:36.:55:40.

specific drills, aiming at the forehand side of Andy Murray. They

:55:41.:55:51.

were aiming the attack constantly that way, looking to get into the

:55:52.:55:55.

net and finish the points. They were talking about attacking the second

:55:56.:55:59.

serve and intimidating and eat with that. The positivity and divide and

:56:00.:56:08.

the personality, the persona Grigor Dimitrov has been putting out is

:56:09.:56:12.

that of a champion. I thought it was very moving that at the end, he was

:56:13.:56:18.

very subdued, I thought that was though respectful. He wears a

:56:19.:56:22.

champion's feeling, you cannot really put your finger on what it

:56:23.:56:26.

is. But in the changing room, he will not be that calm, it is a

:56:27.:56:31.

delightful victory. Why Andy was flat, I do not know. We'll Amelie

:56:32.:56:35.

Mauresmo still be around for the summer? Who knows because that is

:56:36.:56:41.

not a great start. In the manner he lost, it was all Grigor Dimitrov, he

:56:42.:56:45.

was attacking and it made Andy Murray look so defensive and very

:56:46.:56:50.

nervy as well. You cannot be passive against somebody who comes at you

:56:51.:56:55.

with the tools Dimitrov has. That backhand slice zips off the court.

:56:56.:56:59.

Yes you will be nervous on the big stage. Even with Andy's record on

:57:00.:57:06.

Sundays, you are just flat. And times it just happens that way and

:57:07.:57:10.

if you are playing against someone in this kind of form... Look at his

:57:11.:57:16.

movement, it is area unusual for Andy to miss one like this. He is

:57:17.:57:23.

playing someone who keeps getting the ball back and ask difficult

:57:24.:57:27.

questions. You end up disappointing the crowd as well as yourself. And

:57:28.:57:31.

you do not involve the crowd as much. You wanted him to have one

:57:32.:57:36.

inspired grain and get the crowd involved and be energised. -- one

:57:37.:57:43.

inspired game. Until Stockholm lasted, Dimitrov had not won a

:57:44.:57:52.

tournament and he has won four now. He was nervous serving at Queen's.

:57:53.:57:57.

Almost a double fault against Lopez. But he managed to save the match

:57:58.:58:01.

point. He has won an awful lot of matches and matters who is down the

:58:02.:58:09.

other end. Andy Murray will be there, you do not win a US Open,

:58:10.:58:14.

Olympic gold medal and Wimbledon by being poor at the game. We talked

:58:15.:58:20.

about the crystallisation of a talent and we are seeing it from

:58:21.:58:24.

Dimitrov at the moment. Andy Murray coming back from a back injury as

:58:25.:58:28.

well. Let's hear from Andy Murray now. A lot of people surprised at

:58:29.:58:36.

the result of today's match. I am disappointed. Especially with the

:58:37.:58:42.

way I started the match. I played a poor first set. I felt that gave him

:58:43.:58:49.

confidence. I needed to play at the beginning better. In the second set,

:58:50.:58:56.

it got tight at the end and it could have gone either way. And again when

:58:57.:59:00.

he got that set, it is a lot easier to settle down when you are two sets

:59:01.:59:10.

to love art. -- up. Maybe I could have found a way back. But it was

:59:11.:59:16.

not a great day. Being a professional, I am sure you will not

:59:17.:59:20.

make excuses, but Grigor Dimitrov said he thought you were not quite

:59:21.:59:24.

yourself in the warm up. Was there anything to that? No, I felt fine.

:59:25.:59:34.

To be honest. But I obviously got off to a bad start. That was a

:59:35.:59:39.

disappointing part of the match for me. I found a way to get myself back

:59:40.:59:44.

into it at the end of the second set, but the start was not good

:59:45.:59:50.

enough. You need to start better. When you are playing best of five

:59:51.:59:54.

matches, there is time to come back, but I did not get it. You were

:59:55.:00:02.

up against a high-class opponent, somebody you know very well. What

:00:03.:00:11.

did you say to him after the match? I just came off the court so it is

:00:12.:00:14.

hard to analyse everything that happened out there. He played a very

:00:15.:00:19.

solid match and made very few mistakes. He served well. Made a lot

:00:20.:00:26.

of returns. All of the percentages were in his favour. He played a very

:00:27.:00:34.

good match. ANDREW CASTLE: I wish I had played better and made it

:00:35.:00:42.

tougher for him. I have been in that situation. I knew how difficult it

:00:43.:00:47.

was when I was trying to get into slams for the first time. I wish I

:00:48.:00:52.

could have pushed him more. As the defending champion, people talk

:00:53.:00:56.

about how things change as you come back as champion. Has that been an

:00:57.:01:00.

experience that you feel you will learn from for the future? Yeah. For

:01:01.:01:07.

me it wasn't so much about learning, but trying to enjoy the experience.

:01:08.:01:11.

You never know if you're going to get an opportunity to do that again.

:01:12.:01:15.

To be fair, I did a decent job and the first week I started the

:01:16.:01:20.

tournament very well and played some good stuff. Today just wasn't my

:01:21.:01:27.

day. Thank you for your time. You can tell how disappointed he is. The

:01:28.:01:32.

last time he lost in straight sets was to Rafael Nadal in 2010. He

:01:33.:01:38.

dropped that first set 6-1. He has not dropped a set by that score

:01:39.:01:45.

since 2005. When Rafael Nadal went out, I was thinking it is game on. I

:01:46.:01:50.

considered him to be the greatest threat. I don't think he has an

:01:51.:01:55.

explanation for what happened and he doesn't owe us any, there is no

:01:56.:01:58.

excuses to be made. I think sometimes you can be outplayed and

:01:59.:02:03.

sometimes you can just play poorly. You know f played that match again

:02:04.:02:08.

in half an hour's time, Andy would probably play a good match. It just

:02:09.:02:12.

so happens. It is a match and one person against another. And the

:02:13.:02:18.

sport thrives on the entrants of new people and with Dimitrov and we have

:02:19.:02:21.

been lucky enough to see him at Queens and here, he has got

:02:22.:02:26.

something a bit special. And that might have affected Andy today. But

:02:27.:02:30.

Andy is no less of a champion for losing one match. Dimitrov, he

:02:31.:02:36.

didn't put a foot wrong. You kept thinking is he going to have a dip

:02:37.:02:43.

in form and he didn't. Murray didn't serve hard and we are trying to

:02:44.:02:47.

figure out. If you're a bit scared and intimidated, that is the sort of

:02:48.:02:52.

thing thanes. Dimitrov comes at you like an octopus flinging a racket.

:02:53.:02:57.

He has so many different shots and the racket moves so fast. The game

:02:58.:03:02.

plan again, take Andy's second serve and opinionish it. Make it -- and

:03:03.:03:07.

punish it. Make it feel like every time he is worried about missing his

:03:08.:03:14.

first serve. I think what happened today was Dimitrov forced his game,

:03:15.:03:18.

his personality on to his opponent. Which is the name of the game. When

:03:19.:03:23.

it is being punished like that, you start questioning yourself, what is

:03:24.:03:27.

wrong with my serve and it starts to go wrong. We haven't seen Andy

:03:28.:03:33.

wroebgen -- broken that often on grass. Five times today. We spich

:03:34.:03:37.

these things together and you look at them and you can see why Andy was

:03:38.:03:43.

feeling broken up. Some of these shots are of an unusually high

:03:44.:03:49.

standard. This is an unusual talent we are looking at. Forget this Baby

:03:50.:04:02.

Fed nonsense. Everyone has known that Dimitrov was going to happen

:04:03.:04:06.

probably. And it is happening now. It is this flourishing of new

:04:07.:04:10.

talent, which I prefer to concentrate on, rather than Andy a

:04:11.:04:15.

difficult day today. He will feel horrible tonight. But we thank him

:04:16.:04:19.

for another great effort. Seven quarter finals in a row. But now, we

:04:20.:04:27.

celebrate Grigor. Another new name like Kyrgios. We talked of Murray

:04:28.:04:33.

serve not being at his best, but Dimitrov was slamming then down time

:04:34.:04:38.

after time. Whereabouts is he going to serve it? There is little to read

:04:39.:04:45.

like Sampras and Federer. It is the accuracy and the fact that mixing it

:04:46.:04:51.

up, not allowing your opponent to even have a thought as to where it

:04:52.:04:56.

might go. He seemed to have the ball on a string today. But this

:04:57.:04:59.

tournament and watching him off court and around the grounds, you

:05:00.:05:03.

look at this guy and you just go, well this is exciting. With Kyrgios

:05:04.:05:11.

as well and Raonic, we are seeing a flourishing of players born in the

:05:12.:05:15.

90s and they're all interesting. Kyrgios with his weird hair cut and

:05:16.:05:22.

beating Rafael Nadal. And Grigor was worried about the crowd and the

:05:23.:05:26.

reaction of the crowd. Because kit be -- it can be intense in centre.

:05:27.:05:34.

Normally polite, but intense. Like Jimmy said, they have high

:05:35.:05:38.

expectations of themselves this young crowd. If he can get on Murray

:05:39.:05:44.

straightaway, that does silence the crowd. You have to applaud Grigor

:05:45.:05:49.

and Roger Rashid for what they have done, not just mentally, but

:05:50.:05:55.

hisically. He was running -- but physically. He was running balls

:05:56.:06:01.

down. You're allowed to look at Grigor's lengths the next time,

:06:02.:06:07.

because there is like scars all over his knees, down his shins. He spends

:06:08.:06:12.

more time scrabbling around in the dirt and he is just an amazing

:06:13.:06:16.

athlete. I'm sorry to go on about it, I was accused on social media of

:06:17.:06:23.

being infatuated and obsessed with this player. But I have been for

:06:24.:06:27.

years. It is the way he plays the game. I like the way he handles

:06:28.:06:34.

stuff and he is Maria Sharapova's boyfriend. But his tennis. There is

:06:35.:06:42.

an element of game I fell in love with at the age of nine. He said of

:06:43.:06:48.

Maria, he said watching her work ethic, because she is a great

:06:49.:06:53.

champion, who could retire and live well. He said he learned from her.

:06:54.:06:59.

Room for two stars in a relationship. These are two

:07:00.:07:07.

cross-over stars. Grigor will have big interests outside the game. He

:07:08.:07:12.

is great with all ages and sexes and to have Maria in the camp and to be

:07:13.:07:16.

helping and being around. But he gets the big picture. We saw him at

:07:17.:07:22.

Queens, he talks to the ball kids, he signs the autographs. He gets

:07:23.:07:26.

that he is more than a player. But he does it from here. You can tell

:07:27.:07:32.

somebody all day long to, if you do this, if media training, like a

:07:33.:07:37.

politician, always know the interviewer's name, Sue! Makes the

:07:38.:07:42.

interviewer feel good. But he gets that any way. Hello, Andrew, I'm

:07:43.:07:49.

immediately on his side. That is pure flattery, but it is important,

:07:50.:07:52.

because he is projecting the image of the sport. Kyrgios gets it as

:07:53.:07:58.

well. Raonic you have never heard him say anything. But all of these

:07:59.:08:03.

elements go to making the complete package. But its about hitting

:08:04.:08:07.

tennis balls and Grigor does that pretty well. When we looked at

:08:08.:08:10.

Murray, we thought he has not reached a final since he has come

:08:11.:08:15.

back from his back surgery and he had a disappointing semi final, he

:08:16.:08:20.

was overpowered at the French Open. So our expectations were a bit

:08:21.:08:25.

elevated, thinking could he do it again. In reality it would have been

:08:26.:08:31.

a huge ask. It is his fault for playing so well in the first week.

:08:32.:08:34.

Do you think that was a key. He needed a tougher match to get a bit

:08:35.:08:40.

more gritty? I think we can speculate as to what would have

:08:41.:08:46.

toughened him up for this match. Perhaps a five-setter. But I... It

:08:47.:08:51.

is all just speculation. I don't know what went wrong today. He

:08:52.:08:55.

looked a bit sleepy and like he was on the back foot and he would

:08:56.:08:58.

probably start the match differently. But have an extra cuff

:08:59.:09:03.

of coffee or something. I think we have to chalk it up to a fine

:09:04.:09:09.

Dimitrov performance, rather than a poor Murray one. Again respect to

:09:10.:09:13.

Andy for coming out. I know it is his obligation, do doing the

:09:14.:09:18.

interview, being honest, embracing that he has been outplayed, not

:09:19.:09:22.

making excuses and he will get on with it. But he will be very cross.

:09:23.:09:27.

He is a competitor. Me will take this one hard. Yeah, that is an

:09:28.:09:33.

arrow to the heart losing to somebody. Everyone has been talking

:09:34.:09:40.

about this pesky dim prove since -- Dimitrov since Queens. He is on the

:09:41.:09:44.

way. There is another member of the club I think right up at the top,

:09:45.:09:49.

with Nadal going out the way he has, Federer getting older. There is a

:09:50.:09:53.

sense of a possible turning of the tide as these youngsters begin to

:09:54.:09:57.

knock off the bigger names. Nadal and Murray within the space of 24

:09:58.:10:02.

hours. That is unusual. Thank you. We will have further reaction later

:10:03.:10:10.

on. On Centre Court it is the all-Swiss bat as Roger Federer comes

:10:11.:10:16.

out to face the Australian Open champion, Stan Wawrinka. Federer

:10:17.:10:21.

knows all about winning here. But he is the No 2 Swiss, although he is

:10:22.:10:26.

seeded above Stan Wawrinka. But that is the match on Centre Court and we

:10:27.:10:33.

will go to that shortly on BBC2. We are heading to court No 1, because

:10:34.:10:40.

Novak Djokovic and Marin Cilic. Are we in for another shock? It is 1-1.

:10:41.:10:48.

Cilic a mini-break up in this tie-break and here is Peter Fleming

:10:49.:10:52.

and Andrew Cotter. tie-break. Djokovic suddenly looks

:10:53.:11:56.

the stronger. That is the wide and Djokovic's

:11:57.:12:38.

footing is very uncertain. PETER FLEMING: It is like he is playing on

:12:39.:12:44.

ice. He can't get a firm footing seemingly ever.

:12:45.:13:22.

lifted himself for this tie-break. Cilic, six foot five, very agile, a

:13:23.:13:31.

difficult man to pass. In addition to that, managed a great drop

:13:32.:13:41.

volley. No one quite has the staring eyes of Djokovic when he is putting

:13:42.:13:45.

in the effort. He sprinted for that one.

:13:46.:13:59.

He has done that a few times, the big first serve well landed and then

:14:00.:14:04.

can't finish it off. That is the way to place a serve.

:14:05.:15:27.

What would Cilic give for two mighty first serves now?

:15:28.:15:49.

Well wonderfully finished off, because the return of Djokovic was

:15:50.:15:55.

something special, to even get to that.

:15:56.:16:16.

He has it! Cilic celebrates and if Djokovic the No 1 seed is to come

:16:17.:16:26.

back, he is going to have to do it the hard way, the long road by five

:16:27.:16:39.

sets. Cilic is in fronts. He showed us a lot. At 6-5, serving for the

:16:40.:16:45.

set, it is a nerve-wracking time. But also a crucial time. The first

:16:46.:16:51.

point often sets the tone for any sort of game. Cilic with with a duck

:16:52.:17:01.

hit the net. And then he lost his serve and you thought that will be

:17:02.:17:05.

tough to come back. But he did ever so well to regain his composure and

:17:06.:17:12.

in the end was the dominant player in the tie-break. He lifted his

:17:13.:17:17.

first serve percentage. Because it wasn't great before that. Exactly

:17:18.:17:23.

right. And at break point converse, Cilic took one of the two

:17:24.:17:29.

opportunities given and Djokovic was wasteful. He came to the net eleven

:17:30.:17:35.

times and one eight of them. That was an important factor I think that

:17:36.:17:41.

he was able to attack just a little more able to attack a little more.

:17:42.:17:51.

But what a shock to the environment. This was the shot. Come on! He was

:17:52.:17:56.

serving for the set. First point of that game and he had to go into a

:17:57.:18:02.

tie-break. We thought that might cost him dear that moment of

:18:03.:18:06.

silliness. He has come back from that and responded to well. I'm sure

:18:07.:18:15.

it will have helped him grow just a little bit. The other thing we

:18:16.:18:20.

stress in the first set he was being slowly ground into the court one

:18:21.:18:25.

grass by Djokovic. It was a poor performance by Cilic and Djokovic

:18:26.:18:30.

was pretty strong and we thought it would be one-way traffic. But

:18:31.:18:38.

suddenly Djokovic trails 2-1 and Cilic has as good a chance as he

:18:39.:18:44.

ever will of reaching a semi final at Wimbledon. These first couple of

:18:45.:18:50.

service games vital for Cilic. He has put the hammer down. Keep

:18:51.:18:53.

Djokovic under the cosh. Not the purest strike from Cilic.

:18:54.:20:46.

Immediately in this fourth set under pressure on his serve.

:20:47.:20:58.

With some bookers you can bet in play and the odds change all the

:20:59.:21:07.

time, I wonder if Djokovic is still favourite?

:21:08.:21:24.

You would probably get evens for him. Exactly. Which might not be a

:21:25.:21:29.

bad bet. Such an important game to start this

:21:30.:22:11.

set. Now, we know what he is flapping

:22:12.:22:49.

about there. He just can't stand up! It is like Murray in the time last

:22:50.:22:54.

year, looking to his box and saying, find me some fine shoes that I can

:22:55.:22:57.

work with. Cilic rowses himself for -- rouses

:22:58.:23:17.

himself for break point. Maybe he has gone off to get some new

:23:18.:23:20.

trainers. All this flapping around has to be a

:23:21.:23:50.

distraction for Cilic. Oh, it's wide! Djokovic has the

:23:51.:24:37.

break. Staring still at his box. Not a walk of a joyful man who has just

:24:38.:24:43.

made the break through. But Boris trying to give him some

:24:44.:24:46.

encouragement. But he has the break at the start of this fourth set.

:24:47.:24:52.

Well, down came the reinforcements. Boris just passed him another pair

:24:53.:24:57.

of shoes. Let's see if he changes into them now. No, he will have to

:24:58.:24:59.

wait until the next full changeover. Slippery for all out there. It is

:25:00.:25:49.

just very dry. They're back after found some new foot wear. But Cilic

:25:50.:25:51.

not exempt from those problems. Because both players are sliding as

:25:52.:26:01.

much as they are, it is more a matter of just knowing,

:26:02.:26:05.

understanding how the court surface will react.

:26:06.:26:19.

It is just because it is that much drier today, it is just a little

:26:20.:26:26.

more slippy. Immediately a chance for Cilic to

:26:27.:27:11.

get that break back. That brutal forehand from Cilic

:27:12.:27:58.

doing its work again. His body is taking a beating today.

:27:59.:30:28.

He has fallen over a number of times.

:30:29.:31:10.

Careful that time not to hit the net! What a carefully played driver

:31:11.:31:17.

volley from chill itch. The first time in a while Cilic

:31:18.:32:22.

being made to do a little bit, really.

:32:23.:33:19.

And, despite the mutterings coming from Novak Djokovic, he has got an

:33:20.:33:26.

opportunity for a double break. UMPIRE: Game, Djokovic.

:33:27.:33:58.

And Djokovic has that double break. Use a spectre that, even with a long

:33:59.:34:01.

way to go in this set, a 50s calling.

:34:02.:34:07.

SUE BARKER: Absolutely. You can't imagine Djokovic letting that lead

:34:08.:34:14.

slip. We now know that the winner of this match will face Grigor Dimitrov

:34:15.:34:19.

who has put out the defending champion Andy Murray in straight

:34:20.:34:23.

sets. A convincing performance, a champion's performance from Grigor

:34:24.:34:31.

Dimitrov. This boy has a lot to celebrate, and the world of tennis

:34:32.:34:35.

does. He is a champion in the making. And over on Centre Court at

:34:36.:34:43.

the moment, the seven time champion in real trouble, a break of serve

:34:44.:34:48.

down to his fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka. That is live on BBC Two.

:34:49.:34:57.

Are we in for another big shock on Centre Court? Even though Wawrinka

:34:58.:35:07.

is ranked above Federer, you expect Federer to be at home on Centre

:35:08.:35:08.

Court. Back we go to this match. New footwear, perhaps different

:35:09.:35:27.

footwear. He has just not been happy with his footwork taught in this

:35:28.:35:33.

match, so far, Djokovic. The groundsman won't like it if he has

:35:34.:35:42.

spikes on there. That used to be the case, that you would wear spikes if

:35:43.:35:49.

it was raining. So he has a new pair of shoes, and certainly a new spring

:35:50.:35:55.

in his step. He is two breaks up in this fourth set. Of course, they

:35:56.:36:03.

used to play when it was raining, too. Hard as nails.

:36:04.:36:41.

He is not going to waste a lot of energy attempt to come back. He is

:36:42.:36:45.

going for the fifth set. That is a good point. What do you do

:36:46.:37:07.

if you are Cilic? You know it is likely to go to the fifth set. Do

:37:08.:37:12.

you conserve energy? Yes, he shouldn't go chasing lost causes.

:37:13.:37:20.

But you know, it is more an emotional conservation of energy.

:37:21.:37:26.

Then physical. I think physically he is feeling fine. He could probably

:37:27.:37:30.

chase everything. But mentally, he has probably let go a little bit,

:37:31.:37:35.

and thought, if it happens for me, great, but if not, I won't worry

:37:36.:37:42.

about it. Not too much time or energy for either player in that

:37:43.:37:45.

game. UMPIRE: Djokovic leads 4-0, fourth

:37:46.:37:55.

set. Just looking at five set records the

:37:56.:38:00.

Djokovic. He lost to Stan Wawrinka in the quarters of the Australian

:38:01.:38:01.

Open. But he has won most. I think both players think this is

:38:02.:39:43.

going to a fifth set. Get me more shoes! Both players thinking about

:39:44.:39:54.

who will serve first in a final set. Hold here from Marin Cilic. And that

:39:55.:40:03.

is an important hold. For two reasons, because first of all, as

:40:04.:40:09.

you said, he would like to start serving in the fifth set, but

:40:10.:40:14.

secondly, just to re-establish a confident mood on serve. If you go

:40:15.:40:23.

in having lost a 6-0 set, then you are certainly a bit jittery, a bit

:40:24.:40:29.

and a confident, starting the fifth. That is no way to be. Still a

:40:30.:40:33.

different feel to the different courts here at Wimbledon. Some might

:40:34.:40:39.

assume that Court Number One has a different feel to Centre Court, but

:40:40.:40:44.

it might be why Djokovic is struggling a bit. But he has played

:40:45.:40:49.

in these conditions before. I don't know. It could be that he is just on

:40:50.:41:00.

age, knowing that he is a heavy favourite to win this match, he has

:41:01.:41:04.

beaten Cilic nine times in their nine previous matches. Knowing that

:41:05.:41:12.

one of the guys that he fears most, well, two of the guys that he fears

:41:13.:41:16.

most are out of the tournament. It adds a little bit to the pressure.

:41:17.:41:22.

These are worrying times for the big four! I guess so. Nadal gone, Murray

:41:23.:41:31.

gone, Djokovic fighting hard to stay in things. But he is looking

:41:32.:41:36.

comfortable, at least in this fourth set. Serving with new balls.

:41:37.:42:31.

UMPIRE: Game, Djokovic. Ominously comfortable. So, Cilic

:42:32.:43:08.

will throw a little bit more into this game to hold serve, making sure

:43:09.:43:15.

that Djokovic will have to serve out, so that he can start the fifth.

:43:16.:44:18.

Everyone knows that a fifth set is coming, and that is when things will

:44:19.:44:54.

get interesting again. But he does what he has to do,

:44:55.:45:13.

making Djokovic serve for it. You made a good point, Andrew. These

:45:14.:45:19.

players play every day, and they are used to playing for such extended

:45:20.:45:23.

periods of time. The crowd comes out here, it is a holiday. Two hours and

:45:24.:45:32.

44 minutes, tired of concentrating for that length of time. So they

:45:33.:45:37.

just take an emotional, mental breather, and rejoin the match in

:45:38.:45:41.

the fifth. These guys don't quite have that luxury. He has gone off to

:45:42.:45:49.

a happy place somewhere to concentrate, focus, recharge. It is

:45:50.:45:59.

looking a little bit more sparse, a few gaps after Andy Murray's

:46:00.:46:06.

departure. Well, they are sleeping, that's for sure. It is warm out

:46:07.:46:10.

there today, no doubt about that. It has been a very impressive effort

:46:11.:46:27.

from Cilic after that first set. He would be the third Croatian to reach

:46:28.:46:41.

the semifinals of Wimbledon. After it even is a Goran Ivanisevic and

:46:42.:46:51.

Ancic. That was a huge forehand from Cilic,

:46:52.:48:24.

and a more comfortable slide. Those shoes are working.

:48:25.:49:28.

For some time we have anticipated this moment, set point for Djokovic

:49:29.:49:38.

to draw level. And into the fifth set we go. Djokovic still fighting.

:49:39.:49:45.

SUE BARKER: So this one is going the distance. It will all be decided in

:49:46.:49:49.

the final set, and we will be back soon. But the big story here today

:49:50.:49:53.

is the defending champion Andy Murray is out, outplayed by the

:49:54.:50:00.

talented Grigor Dimitrov, who won at Queen's Club, but he was in all some

:50:01.:50:07.

form today. Murray broke and five times during this match. But

:50:08.:50:12.

although he wasn't at his best, this man certainly was. The best match of

:50:13.:50:16.

his career so far, and through to his first Grand Slam semifinal.

:50:17.:50:21.

Celebrations the Dimitrov on Centre Court. Let's hear what Andy had to

:50:22.:50:30.

say to the press after the match. The toughest loss of my career was

:50:31.:50:36.

losing in the final here in 2012. But I need to go away and make a lot

:50:37.:50:40.

of improvements in my game. I have lost a couple of matches in the last

:50:41.:50:46.

few slams where I have lost in straight sets and played poorly, so

:50:47.:50:55.

I need to have a think about things, what are the things I need to

:50:56.:51:00.

improve and get myself in better shape and work even harder, because

:51:01.:51:05.

everyone is starting to get better. The younger guys are becoming more

:51:06.:51:11.

mature and improving all the time, and I need to make some improvements

:51:12.:51:16.

to my game. We will sit down and chat about

:51:17.:51:22.

that, maybe tomorrow or in a few days. And yes, it has to come from

:51:23.:51:29.

both sides. I have really enjoyed the last couple of weeks. I have

:51:30.:51:42.

found it good fun, calming, tactically I feel like the chances

:51:43.:51:47.

have been good, and the direction I would like my tennis to go in, I

:51:48.:51:52.

hope so. But we will need to sit down and chat.

:51:53.:51:58.

SUE BARKER: That was Andy chatting about his coaching Amelie Mauresmo

:51:59.:52:01.

and whether they will continue their partnership. This was the scene as

:52:02.:52:05.

he leaves Wimbledon for the last time. No doubt he will go on

:52:06.:52:09.

holiday, but he has a lot to think about. He lost in straight sets to

:52:10.:52:14.

Rafa at the French Open, and now straight sets here today. That is

:52:15.:52:19.

the story, so let's go back and see who is going to win this one.

:52:20.:52:37.

Every winner winner becomes more important, every mistake amplified.

:52:38.:52:50.

In the final set. As long as he keeps doing that, he

:52:51.:53:09.

will have every chance. This was a conservative forehand. Just a little

:53:10.:53:14.

short, a nice wrong footing forehand.

:53:15.:53:38.

It has been a match of precious few chances the Cilic on the Djokovic

:53:39.:53:58.

serve. He can't afford to waste them.

:53:59.:54:32.

You get the feeling that the unforced error is off the backhand

:54:33.:54:48.

may just be coming to an end. Djokovic looked rock-solid in the

:54:49.:54:55.

rally. He has the break straight away. At

:54:56.:55:33.

the start of the deciding set, Djokovic looks masterful again. It

:55:34.:55:42.

is interesting, Andrew, because when Djokovic got the new Pera shoes, it

:55:43.:55:48.

is almost as though -- pair of shoes, it is almost as though he had

:55:49.:55:52.

nothing to complain about. I have done what I can do, I have changed

:55:53.:55:56.

my shoes, and he became almost placid. He says the only difference

:55:57.:56:03.

between him winning and losing is the mental side of things. When he

:56:04.:56:08.

feels mentally good, he wins. It is not technical or physical. That is

:56:09.:56:13.

the case with everyone, trust me. When things start to go against you,

:56:14.:56:37.

they just don't quite come off. The most important game in this

:56:38.:56:59.

match was the first game in that fourth set.

:57:00.:57:04.

Suddenly Cilic is the player of the first set, not the second and third.

:57:05.:57:37.

UMPIRE: Djokovic leads to games to love, final set.

:57:38.:57:53.

Djokovic disdainfully hits the spare ball away as if to say, you are

:57:54.:57:57.

playing against the big boys now. When you think of the marathon

:57:58.:58:38.

matches Djokovic has played in Grand Slams, that fitness that he has.

:58:39.:58:47.

He has been there and done it so many times before.

:58:48.:59:05.

Remember against Dell pot -- Del Potro last year in the semifinal.

:59:06.:59:41.

From a stamina perspective, this is a walk in the park for Djokovic.

:59:42.:59:54.

Remind me not to join you for a walk in the park.

:59:55.:00:54.

Again just a few too many mistakes for his own good. That was an

:00:55.:01:03.

ambitious attempt. The off backhand. We will see perhaps that he said to

:01:04.:01:07.

himself, down the middle! That is a hole for Cilic, an

:01:08.:01:26.

important hole for Cilic. He remains just a break adrift. SUE BARKER: It

:01:27.:01:32.

is still Djokovic in charge. We will be back with this match on BBC1. On

:01:33.:01:37.

Centre Court, Roger Federer is in trouble. He has dropped the opening

:01:38.:01:43.

set to Stan Wawrinka. It is on serve in the second set. You can watch

:01:44.:01:48.

that match live on BBC Two. So the seven time champion on court in

:01:49.:01:54.

trouble and Novak Djokovic, the 2011 champion, hoping to win here against

:01:55.:02:09.

this man. John It has been a match of few opportunities, despite that

:02:10.:02:19.

Cilic led. He may just have one small window of opportunity and he

:02:20.:02:22.

is going to have the clamber through it. Exactly. Cilic has only had four

:02:23.:02:30.

break points. He has converted two. But Djokovic has had 17, converting

:02:31.:02:37.

it. It shows that Cilic will have been stressed a lot more, up against

:02:38.:02:49.

break points is a tired experience. Somehow though he needs to pull

:02:50.:02:53.

himself together. Perhaps with the aid of a little luck and get the

:02:54.:03:01.

break back. The No 1 seed with the break.

:03:02.:04:36.

Belief he can come back only comes from winning points. He can't win

:04:37.:04:43.

anything at the moment. Djokovic looks like the old Djokovic. These

:04:44.:04:50.

are not good times for Cilic, but Djokovic is looking mighty good

:04:51.:04:57.

again. .ing So often in the fifth set of matches, it is down to a

:04:58.:05:05.

battle of wills. Djokovic looking inDom nit tab right now.

:05:06.:05:56.

The backhand that was once way ward, now rock solid.

:05:57.:06:50.

Not yet a beaten man, but certainly he is taking on that air.

:06:51.:07:40.

Again does what he has to do. And they still believe. Again belief is

:07:41.:08:21.

one thing, but when you haven't had anything in the last couple of

:08:22.:08:26.

service games of Djokovic, Cilic has not been able to win a point. Eleven

:08:27.:08:35.

points in a row for Djokovic. Cilic somehow needs to send out the

:08:36.:08:41.

energy. Hope he can distract Djokovic into missing a few first

:08:42.:08:49.

serves. Against the first serve, chillic has struggled. It is often

:08:50.:09:00.

in situations like this it is about moments of inspiration. The great

:09:01.:09:06.

champions somehow seem to come up with it time and again and of course

:09:07.:09:12.

their foundation is so solid. I was what he was asking, the umpire. He

:09:13.:09:17.

has put in a call on his behalf. Calling for some ice I think. It is

:09:18.:09:25.

very warm out there in the latter stages of this match. Over three

:09:26.:09:42.

hours on court. But Djokovic looks fairly fresh. Again the No 1 seed

:09:43.:09:56.

with the break serving in this deciding, 3-2.

:09:57.:10:26.

Cilic gave it a stare, but Djokovic is turning it on in serve now.

:10:27.:11:00.

Time is running out, games are disappearing. 14 consecutive points

:11:01.:11:06.

won on serve by Djokovic now. Only a brief pause. Djokovic races

:11:07.:11:52.

along, the wind in his sails. Yeah, that serve 103mph. Djokovic mixing

:11:53.:11:57.

up his speeds and placements well now. And time for a new racket.

:11:58.:12:08.

There is an air of inevitability about this. Let's see what Cilic to

:12:09.:12:15.

do to change things around. The first thing he has to do is again

:12:16.:12:19.

hold serve. You hear the angst from Djokovic, he

:12:20.:13:29.

knows he has an opportunity to put this beyond all doubt.

:13:30.:14:01.

Put away with apparent ease by Djokovic. At least he made it look

:14:02.:14:13.

easy, in the longest rally of the match. He is trying to stop the rot

:14:14.:14:23.

and the seemingly inevitable here. UMPIRE: Mr Cilic is challenging the

:14:24.:14:39.

call. It is a pause to ask the question of Hawk-Eye.

:14:40.:15:19.

The crowd trying to rouse Cilic, or in support of Djokovic. Because this

:15:20.:15:28.

is a point and a further one to come to put this match beyond doubt.

:15:29.:16:23.

a roar, he moves close to the semi finals now. He will sit and then he

:16:24.:16:33.

will rise in a couple of minutes to serve for a place in the last four.

:16:34.:16:39.

Well, there were parts of this match when Novak Djokovic was surly, he

:16:40.:16:50.

was frustrated. But those moments have passed. He knows he is home

:16:51.:16:59.

now. We talked about when Cilic led by 2-1, what are the in play odds

:17:00.:17:03.

might have been on Djokovic. They were still about even. You suspected

:17:04.:17:08.

that he would come back and perhaps Cilic might drop his level a little

:17:09.:17:14.

bit. And both those things have happened. These guys are great

:17:15.:17:29.

champions, because they are such strong mental gladiators, they can

:17:30.:17:34.

focus for such a long period of time and such an intense amount that it

:17:35.:17:41.

is exhausting. To play against them. And Cilic just ran out of mental

:17:42.:17:50.

energy. And we use the past tense for chill chich, because -- Cilic,

:17:51.:17:56.

because he is nearly gone. Djokovic has given Cilic so little on serve.

:17:57.:18:00.

He now serves for the match. He is trying to the last, Cilic, but

:18:01.:19:17.

things are coming off now for Djokovic. Again so impressive on

:19:18.:19:21.

serve. Three match points. Victory for Djokovic. Again the arms

:19:22.:19:38.

are held aloft and he hits the winner. The No 1 seed. Through to

:19:39.:19:46.

the last four. And at a Wimbledon where the big beasts are being cut

:19:47.:19:52.

down, he still stands. A brave effort by Marin Cilic. But it is

:19:53.:19:58.

little consolation for him. He thought he may move through to the

:19:59.:20:04.

semi final. But instead it is Djokovic. The favourite, who goes

:20:05.:20:11.

on. There were nervous moments in that match for Novak Djokovic, make

:20:12.:20:16.

no mistake about that. But he overcame them. Winning going away,

:20:17.:20:27.

two and two. In the last two sets. A precious victory for Novak Djokovic.

:20:28.:20:34.

SUE BARKER: He is a man of steel, Novak Djokovic bgs through to his

:20:35.:20:40.

23rd Grand Slam semi final. We will hear from him later after that

:20:41.:20:44.

match. But we are heading live over to Centre Court because Roger

:20:45.:20:48.

Federer and Stan Wawrinka are involved in a second set tie-break.

:20:49.:20:52.

Stan Wawrinka having won the first set. Let's join our commentators,

:20:53.:20:58.

John McEnroe and Simon Reed. SIMON REED: He doesn't look great,

:20:59.:21:43.

but his expression very rarely changes. He has given him a gift

:21:44.:21:57.

there. JOHN MCENROE: He is not happy. That would have put the

:21:58.:21:59.

pressure on Stan Wawrinka. Federer gave a good look, I don't

:22:00.:22:27.

think he is going to challenge. If you find an angle like that and hit

:22:28.:22:33.

it at 129mph, you had better believe it's going to be an ace. That is

:22:34.:22:41.

only the fourth for Stan in the match. His first serve percentage

:22:42.:22:48.

still under 50%. His career record mediocre at best on grass. Yet here

:22:49.:22:55.

he is. This would be huge for Wawrinka to win this tie-break. That

:22:56.:22:58.

will make him feel better. Should have moved in and taken the

:22:59.:23:18.

return off the air. But he didn't and tried to hit that too hard from

:23:19.:23:25.

where he was. So Federer a mini-break up again.

:23:26.:23:58.

Gorgeous, even for someone of Federer's abilities to produce that

:23:59.:24:09.

it is amazing. Absolutely right. Specially at that tense time, deep

:24:10.:24:14.

in that mini-break. He just about got his feet out of

:24:15.:24:31.

the way. Three set points to Federer.

:24:32.:25:12.

He was feeling sick to his stomach and this will be a sickening feeling

:25:13.:25:21.

if he doesn't win this set. One set point saved. But he still has a

:25:22.:25:23.

couple more to go. have a feeling of being out. At

:25:24.:25:48.

worst it will be a replay of the point. Stan Wawrinka will not lose

:25:49.:25:55.

the set on this. And it was out. So it doesn't matter. A third set point

:25:56.:25:57.

now with Federer serving. One set all. That will make Federer

:25:58.:26:57.

feel a whole lot better. What about Wawrinka. That is the doctor. He is

:26:58.:27:02.

a trainer. He is not a doctor. Let's see if we can figure Ute what is

:27:03.:27:09.

going on. Pills. Immediately give me some pain medication. He pointed to

:27:10.:27:15.

his stomach. That is typical. He is not feeling well. Looks like he is

:27:16.:27:21.

going to get sick again. Almost wants to get it out of his system.

:27:22.:27:28.

Did you have that, John? Well, yeah. I think we all do. You try to to

:27:29.:27:35.

deal with the stress. You go to the lower back or the stomach. You have

:27:36.:27:42.

got to admire these guys for stepping up to the plate and

:27:43.:27:47.

handling it. A lot to deal with. You're just one person out there. No

:27:48.:27:51.

one to save you, no substitutes allowed. How important was it for

:27:52.:27:57.

Federer to get the break. Could he have come back. Well he has done it

:27:58.:28:03.

eight times, which is a lot. Wav rip Ca has done -- Wawrinka has done it

:28:04.:28:10.

a number of times. He took a risk and went bigger on the second serve,

:28:11.:28:17.

but he banked on Wawrinka's tendency to block a return back. He is not

:28:18.:28:22.

the type of player who normally goes and goes for it. And he was right.

:28:23.:28:27.

And he got the ball he wanted. It was a clip that was too high,

:28:28.:28:34.

Wawrinka easily put away. A whole new ball game now. You don't often

:28:35.:28:42.

see Mrs Federer as animated as she was there. No injury time out or

:28:43.:28:48.

medical time out. Wawrinka has played well. No question about it.

:28:49.:28:54.

He came to win this match. There has been some more, there is my idol,

:28:55.:29:05.

Rod Laver in the Royal Box, where me belongs. Twice one all four of these

:29:06.:29:11.

major events in one year. The only guy to ever do it.

:29:12.:29:26.

Order has been restored. Novak Djokovic has advanced routinely. One

:29:27.:29:37.

of the top guys has one. He went right at Federer. He almost

:29:38.:29:56.

took his head off. Friendship only goes so far. He will well to handle

:29:57.:30:02.

that big forehand by Federer. Take a look at this. Might have been going

:30:03.:30:08.

out. Keep them guessing there. All you're doing all day and night

:30:09.:30:55.

after you play, is you try to rejovr to calm yourself down, before

:30:56.:30:59.

jacking yourself up again to be primed for this two or three hour

:31:00.:31:05.

match you have to play. He has had to do it, Monday, Tuesday, and now

:31:06.:31:13.

Wednesday. Mentally it is as fatiguing as physically. Perhaps

:31:14.:31:17.

more so. You're on a rollercoaster and this is the best ehe has done at

:31:18.:31:24.

Wimbledon. So there is joy inside, but there is a feeling of fatigue.

:31:25.:31:41.

Yes, the drinker, in the last two years, -- the Stan Wawrinka, in the

:31:42.:31:53.

last two years, has lost in the first round here, to Jurgen Melzer

:31:54.:32:02.

and Lleyton Hewitt. Federer plays at a much quicker pace than Wawrinka.

:32:03.:32:41.

Federer winning the battle of the backhand is, that doesn't happen

:32:42.:32:50.

often. He did well there, almost slipped and fell. The court is very

:32:51.:32:52.

green. UMPIRE: Game, Federer.

:32:53.:33:22.

In the first set, Wawrinka wasn't all over Federer, that he was

:33:23.:33:26.

largely in charge. And that feeling is almost gone. It is gone that he

:33:27.:33:30.

is in charge, but he is still hitting the ball with some serious

:33:31.:33:35.

authority. He is slowly but surely getting that first serve percentage

:33:36.:33:40.

up, so he is starting to win more points on his serve, starting to

:33:41.:33:44.

whether this sickness, this pain in his stomach.

:33:45.:33:57.

Some terrific play now from both guys. To me, that is an example of

:33:58.:34:40.

him going for a little bit more than he would have wanted because perhaps

:34:41.:34:44.

he is not all the way back feeling physically a little bit and it,

:34:45.:34:47.

because that was a very difficult shot to pull off, given as well as

:34:48.:34:52.

he hits his backhands. The crowd are sensing that Federer

:34:53.:35:01.

might be onto something here. This is a poor game. A little weak.

:35:02.:35:42.

A little weary right now. It is starting to get into his head as

:35:43.:35:47.

well as his body. So, here is a chance for federative break. --

:35:48.:35:52.

Federer to break. If executed properly, it would be

:35:53.:36:17.

his point, he knew that, and that is exactly what he did. Still down

:36:18.:36:19.

break point, though. One of the most dependable shots in

:36:20.:36:45.

our sport. That is surprising. It is a question

:36:46.:37:53.

of time the Wawrinka while the pills do their work.

:37:54.:38:05.

If they are going to do any good, probably 20 minutes, half in our? I

:38:06.:38:10.

would think. UMPIRE: Game, Wawrinka.

:38:11.:39:03.

An important game, that. UMPIRE: New balls, please.

:39:04.:39:16.

If he had gone down again there, the pendulum would have swung away from

:39:17.:39:29.

him, but he has stopped it. I assume they have had conversations, Magnus

:39:30.:39:35.

Norman, Stan Wawrinka, about situations, believing what you can

:39:36.:39:41.

execute, and he has come a much better all-round competitor on a

:39:42.:39:46.

regular basis, Wawrinka. He has been able to take advantage of the skills

:39:47.:39:52.

we have seen in the last ten years, and finally figure out a way, for a

:39:53.:39:58.

combination of coaching and psychology and perseverance, to

:39:59.:40:05.

become a Grand Slam champion. And that is quite admirable. And this is

:40:06.:40:12.

why he is a much better competitor now than he was for five years ago,

:40:13.:40:18.

when in this type of match, you would have seen him giving a lot

:40:19.:40:23.

sooner, I'm sure. He is hanging tough right now.

:40:24.:40:29.

UMPIRE: Take your seats, and why wouldn't he? He has learned from

:40:30.:40:36.

these tough experiences. Something in him before was holding him back,

:40:37.:40:38.

and that has been unlocked. Again, rifled at Federer, not for

:40:39.:41:15.

the first time. That is the right thing to Wawrinka to do, to try to

:41:16.:41:17.

get him to back off from the net. Disappointed with the return. He was

:41:18.:41:53.

onto the serve. He looked to have the continental grip, still.

:41:54.:42:14.

It is certainly arguable that Roger Federer, the last three or four

:42:15.:42:21.

years, serving better than ever. It is amazing how many quick service

:42:22.:42:30.

games he has. He has a big frame, 98 square inches as opposed to the 90

:42:31.:42:35.

he had. It gives him a little extra margin. It has taken him a while to

:42:36.:42:43.

get really used to it, but he is fine with it now. He tried with it

:42:44.:42:48.

last year after losing early here, went to it for a couple of events,

:42:49.:42:52.

went back to his old frame for the remainder of the year.

:42:53.:42:59.

And in the off-season, he decided to really go for it.

:43:00.:43:13.

He has been playing well the whole year.

:43:14.:43:34.

UMPIRE: Game, Wawrinka. Another quick service game, this

:43:35.:43:41.

time to Wawrinka. Probably fortunate for Stan that

:43:42.:43:53.

after that break, he was the one serving first. He is still ahead in

:43:54.:44:00.

this match. He was so close to taking such a big lead that he has

:44:01.:44:04.

had to regroup mentally, buckle down, knowing that this is going to

:44:05.:44:17.

be at least four, if not five set. When he lost in the first round to

:44:18.:44:26.

Garcia-Lopez at Queen's, people thought that he wouldn't go on, but

:44:27.:44:33.

he has been proved wrong. He is not a counterpunch other way he was

:44:34.:44:37.

earlier in his career. He is taking it to people. He did win Monte

:44:38.:44:46.

Carlo, he beat Roger Federer. It was shocking that Garcia-Lopez beat him.

:44:47.:44:52.

He did appear to be overwhelmed. But credit to him three group Inc adds

:44:53.:44:57.

to have his best ever result at Wimbledon tells you something about

:44:58.:45:02.

his character. He has got a chance. If he wins this, somehow, he would

:45:03.:45:09.

win two of the first three majors. He could be the number one player in

:45:10.:45:11.

the world. It is possible. They both made the right choices.

:45:12.:45:50.

Federer kept waiting for that call to come.

:45:51.:46:12.

And outrageous return. That is what you keep waiting for him to do more

:46:13.:46:23.

of. He is great off the ground, especially the second serve.

:46:24.:46:36.

Probably mad he didn't hit that, because he blocked it eat. -- deep.

:46:37.:47:16.

That is an example of why I wonder why he runs around his backhand. It

:47:17.:47:23.

just doesn't seem necessary. Can't believe he missed it.

:47:24.:47:46.

UMPIRE: Game, Federer. He is having a look, Wawrinka. Is he

:47:47.:47:55.

going to challenge? Doesn't look like it. He definitely thought about

:47:56.:48:01.

it. He didn't miss by much. Good effort by Federer, because Wawrinka

:48:02.:48:08.

had some shots there to get the break.

:48:09.:48:55.

That is another backhand he missed long. Got to be careful now. They

:48:56.:49:05.

are locked together with total points one, but the match could be

:49:06.:49:11.

changing right here. -- total points won.

:49:12.:50:15.

He made it, and it is an important make, may be very important. If you

:50:16.:50:28.

can hit it that hard, you have to get a little wider, away from

:50:29.:50:30.

Federer. UMPIRE: Game, Federer.

:50:31.:50:52.

Fedor is on the charge. -- Federer. UMPIRE: Federer leads four games to

:50:53.:51:04.

three, third set, one set all. Wawrinka disgusted, tossing his

:51:05.:51:08.

racket. How could you let this get away and then lose your serve the

:51:09.:51:15.

next game? And Federer, ever alert to any opportunity.

:51:16.:51:21.

And after an hour and three quarters, he breaks for the first

:51:22.:51:27.

time. It has been a long time coming, but finally it is Federer

:51:28.:51:32.

with the lead, the momentum. Wawrinka battling himself, he has

:51:33.:51:40.

apparently been under the weather. Part of it has got to be with having

:51:41.:51:45.

to play three days in a row, best-of-5. If you have been in

:51:46.:51:53.

charge of someone like Fedor, and now it is gone, is it almost

:51:54.:51:57.

inevitable that you start blaming yourself? -- someone like Federer.

:51:58.:52:04.

You have to overcome the other side of your brain, reason with it, not

:52:05.:52:10.

allow it to take over. And it is hard to do when you are playing

:52:11.:52:11.

someone this good. That is the first time that his

:52:12.:53:23.

backhand has gone away, he has gotten careless. Given Fedor some

:53:24.:53:34.

easy points, much-needed -- Federer. It is all those hours of

:53:35.:53:43.

training in Dubai in the heat paying off.

:53:44.:53:50.

I think the crowd, naturally a little battered and bruised after

:53:51.:53:53.

Murray's demise, are appreciating what they are seeing, the great man

:53:54.:54:00.

in his pond. One game away from taking this third set.

:54:01.:54:16.

That went in, does it count? Of the chair. Worth a try.

:54:17.:54:40.

He looks worse than he did at the end of the second set. Really down,

:54:41.:54:51.

battling himself big-time. That first serve he hit was only 109.

:54:52.:55:06.

How does he do that? For Stan, loses his racket. You don't often see

:55:07.:55:29.

anything in elegant from Federer. He even falls elegantly.

:55:30.:55:45.

Deal ever see Federer when he looks like he is hurting? It is

:55:46.:56:12.

unbelievable. The guy has played 60 straight majors without missing one.

:56:13.:56:23.

You never hear of an injury. He talked about the back, but look at

:56:24.:56:30.

this guy, how he has held up. There have got to be coaches all around

:56:31.:56:32.

the world, especially the top players' coaches, trying to work

:56:33.:56:41.

out, how does this guy do it? They are pretty closed, the Federer team,

:56:42.:56:45.

about exactly what physical work he does. Nothing is said. It doesn't

:56:46.:56:53.

look like he pounds the weights, or the track. But whatever he is doing,

:56:54.:57:01.

it is working. He doesn't have the six-pack that players dream of. But

:57:02.:57:05.

he is moving out there absolutely beautifully. The other guys start

:57:06.:57:19.

falling apart. Federer serving to go set up.

:57:20.:57:28.

He had to move well for that, did Wawrinka. A lethal weapon.

:57:29.:58:28.

Stan not thinking is clearly, and a lot of that is due to his opponent.

:58:29.:58:42.

13 and two over his opponent. UMPIRE: Challenging the call, the

:58:43.:58:48.

ball was called in. UMPIRE: Game and third set,

:58:49.:59:24.

Federer. 6-4. Federer leads two sets to one.

:59:25.:59:31.

This is what the crowd wanted to see, Federer pushed, but the great

:59:32.:59:40.

man in the end winning. Wawrinka have another word with the umpire.

:59:41.:59:46.

Does he want more medication? I'm not sure if he needs any more

:59:47.:59:50.

medication. He is so elegant. Why would he need now -- leave now? He

:59:51.:00:00.

chooses to go off the court. Stan says, I am going to take advantage

:00:01.:00:04.

of this opportunity. He is going off. You don't often see Roger going

:00:05.:00:16.

off. He is human. There are times when you wonder. That has been true

:00:17.:00:25.

on this court here. Trying to break the great Pete Sampras's record, and

:00:26.:00:36.

he is getting closer and closer. He is bidding to become the second man

:00:37.:00:40.

in history to win this title eight times.

:00:41.:01:00.

This has become so professional, they have trainers, cooks, coaches,

:01:01.:01:09.

psychologists, family members, wives, nannies, kids. Let's talk

:01:10.:01:20.

about kids. He has four of them. When was the last time a guy who won

:01:21.:01:28.

Wimbledon had four kids? I think we might be going back to Renshaw's

:01:29.:01:35.

time! Are pretty flawless looking set for Federer.

:01:36.:01:41.

At the end of your career, you had kids who travelled with you. Three

:01:42.:01:49.

of them I had the last year and a half I played, and trying to be a

:01:50.:01:54.

good father, husband, and then all the time it takes to train and try

:01:55.:02:00.

to be staving off that inevitable decline. But I didn't do nearly as

:02:01.:02:06.

good a job as this guy does, that is the shore. -- for sure. Some of the

:02:07.:02:17.

things that he is doing, whether it is getting a trainer or a coach, I

:02:18.:02:29.

had a masseuse one of the last years that I played, but it didn't make me

:02:30.:02:34.

play like him? It is about this guy right here, what he is capable of

:02:35.:02:39.

doing, and that is quite a bit, because he has had a lot more losses

:02:40.:02:48.

recently that he is used to. He won his last Grand Slam here two years

:02:49.:02:59.

ago. We showed a replay on ESPN. There is the great Rod Laver again.

:03:00.:03:07.

He lost to Tommy Robredo, and the guy was smiling. How can you play

:03:08.:03:16.

one of the worst matches you have ever played, and he looks as if, you

:03:17.:03:19.

wouldn't know who had won the match. We are so lucky to see a guy

:03:20.:03:22.

who absolutely loves to play this much. Even when he doesn't win. I

:03:23.:03:28.

keep wondering what will happen when he loses more often.

:03:29.:03:41.

was being picked often by player. Robredo being one. Federer fans at

:03:42.:03:50.

that stage thought why are you doing this to us? Why don't you bow out

:03:51.:03:55.

gracefully. But he knew better. Well, listen, with what he has

:03:56.:03:59.

accomplished, we all want him to be around as long as possible. We want

:04:00.:04:05.

him to do it on his terms. You would let, I think Lleyton Hewitt will at

:04:06.:04:12.

some stage be in the Hall of fame, he has won a couple of Grand Slams.

:04:13.:04:18.

It is difficult for him. He is 40 or so. But he deserves our respect. If

:04:19.:04:24.

he wants to s to play and go out there and it doesn't happen the way

:04:25.:04:31.

it did in the past, God bless him. That is his decision. How revived is

:04:32.:04:34.

Wawrinka? Two sets to one down. For all the Mr Nice guy, which

:04:35.:05:05.

Federer no doubt is, he will want to pounce on Wawrinka now to make him

:05:06.:05:08.

feel even worse. stabilising game. He needed that big

:05:09.:06:23.

time. We are going to see how many points he has lost on his serve. It

:06:24.:06:30.

doesn't seem like he has lost a whole lot. Both players have been

:06:31.:06:37.

strong at net. The majority of their points. He just seems to get it done

:06:38.:06:43.

so quickly that even when you're holding reasonably easily,, you feel

:06:44.:06:51.

pressure. That might be part of why Stan is feeling sick in the stomach.

:06:52.:06:55.

You can't relax at all. The other thing that must be bad,

:06:56.:07:17.

you know Federer's talent, but there is a joy in watching him move and it

:07:18.:07:19.

can't be a joy for Wawrinka now. From the beginning he was moving as

:07:20.:07:38.

well or better than Roger. And the better part of the first two sets he

:07:39.:07:42.

outplayed him. It seems like Stan f he gets down

:07:43.:08:15.

30-0, 40-0, trying to conserve his energy. Not making a whole lot of

:08:16.:08:41.

effort there. A change of racket. New balls for Wawrinka.

:08:42.:09:09.

Not a lot of spring in the legs now. The serve's lost some serious

:09:10.:09:35.

velocity. He is on the brink now. He is on the plank. You can see he is

:09:36.:09:42.

just about gone if Federer can get this other break. Just hanging on.

:09:43.:09:44.

Please don't push me overboard! I can feel the plank wobbling! Maybe

:09:45.:09:57.

he can too. He got it all wrong and here are two

:09:58.:10:39.

break points for Federer. SUE BARKER: It is advantage Federer

:10:40.:11:11.

in this fourth set. We have to leave this match on BBC1. It continues now

:11:12.:11:19.

on 2. We will be there through to 9 o'clock. The other quarter final

:11:20.:11:24.

will be on the red button. Before we leave though. Novak Djokovic is

:11:25.:11:29.

through to the semi final. He defeated Marin Cilic on court number

:11:30.:11:35.

one in five sets, coming from 2-1 down. What a great competitor he is.

:11:36.:11:40.

He needed to dig deep and he did. Djokovic is through to the last

:11:41.:11:49.

four. That was on court one, but after such an encouraging first week

:11:50.:11:54.

from Andy Murray, it ended today. He was outplayed by Grigor Dimitrov on

:11:55.:12:00.

sinister court. -- Centre Cour. A player with immense talent. Dimitrov

:12:01.:12:06.

is through to his first Grand Slam semi final. But for Andy Murray, his

:12:07.:12:11.

title defence is over. The response from the crowd again for the

:12:12.:12:17.

defending Wimbledon champion. It is time for the action to start and

:12:18.:12:24.

Dimitrov to begin. He has come here with a lot of belief. Wow! Andy a

:12:25.:12:36.

little flat? TIM HENMAN: I think he is. He has nothing to get his teeth

:12:37.:12:42.

into. And things slipping away for Andy Murray in this opening set.

:12:43.:12:54.

Picture perfect opening set from Grigor Dimitrov. He takes it 6-1.

:12:55.:12:59.

Murray can't let his hang head now. He has got to lift his head up.

:13:00.:13:12.

Stunning. And it stunned Murray as well. The tennis cathedral falls

:13:13.:13:25.

silent. Beautiful! That was not as easy as he ended up making it look.

:13:26.:13:41.

That is so good from Dimitrov. That is outrageously good. It is the edge

:13:42.:13:46.

of abyss here for Murray in the third set. The defence of Murray's

:13:47.:13:53.

Wimbledon crown is over. I need to go away and make a lot of

:13:54.:13:58.

improvements in my game. I need to have a think about things, what

:13:59.:14:04.

other things I need to improve and get myself in better shape and work

:14:05.:14:09.

even harder. I need to make some improvements to my game.

:14:10.:14:14.

Looks like everyone's image of paradise.

:14:15.:14:17.

22 years after first visiting Australia...
