Welcome to viewers on BBC One to the Winter Olympics and the men's

:00:13.:00:20.

curling final. Great Britain taking on Canada. It would be the first

:00:21.:00:28.

time that Great Britain has one two gold medals at an Olympic Games.

:00:29.:00:38.

It is very early stages, but already Great Britain are in a tricky

:00:39.:00:55.

situation. Brad Jacobs wondering whether to try to take those two

:00:56.:01:03.

that are there. Dave Murdoch has opened things up a little bit. Brad

:01:04.:01:17.

Jacobs can protect this or decide to put more pressure on Dave Murdoch.

:01:18.:01:28.

The decision has been made. He is going to come up and corner freeze

:01:29.:01:46.

his own red to make it difficult for Dave to do anything with his last

:01:47.:01:55.

stone. Dave will be hoping he can clear at least a couple of them

:01:56.:02:00.

out. He will not be wanting to give up more than two. The first shot of

:02:01.:02:10.

the Olympic final or the Canadian skip. -- for the Canadian skip. Not

:02:11.:02:25.

a bad effort. That was very well held. We saw earlier the closer you

:02:26.:02:31.

get to the centre line the bigger the pull. That is very good.

:02:32.:02:47.

Straight into that pocket. Any good? I think however we look at it

:02:48.:02:58.

it is two given away at this end. Minimum. This is not the start we

:02:59.:03:06.

were looking for. People back home will be on the edge of their seats.

:03:07.:03:15.

I wonder whether the outside stone could give him some to come into the

:03:16.:03:22.

other three, or not. Is that what he is playing? It is difficult to know

:03:23.:03:29.

whether he is going to come onto those. We will find out. This has to

:03:30.:03:41.

fall right. He needs a little bit of luck. Great shot. Brilliant. Very

:03:42.:03:55.

well played. I was not sure if he was going to leave two in. It still

:03:56.:04:11.

leaves Brad Jacobs with a draw for his two, but that was a good shot.

:04:12.:04:20.

They fear the shot-making capabilities of Dave Murdoch. Brad

:04:21.:04:31.

Jacobs sees a big scoring opportunity in this first and taken

:04:32.:04:38.

away by Dave Murdoch. If he gets this right, he will get his two. You

:04:39.:04:53.

are on the red. We are good. Nice draw from the Canadian skip to get

:04:54.:05:00.

two in the first end. It could have been even worse when it's not for a

:05:01.:05:08.

wonderful shot from the British skip. -- were it not for. They will

:05:09.:05:24.

have to make sure they match the Canadians shot for shot. You can

:05:25.:05:39.

probably hear Dave Murdoch saying, let's get our two act. One thing you

:05:40.:05:52.

can say is that the Canadians, as we looked down at our computer

:05:53.:06:04.

analysis, we can tell you that they are being marked for percentages,

:06:05.:06:16.

and all four have 100%. I am not sure I have seen that. They can only

:06:17.:06:23.

get worse, that is one way of looking at it.

:06:24.:06:35.

The British team have to settle down and start playing their shots and

:06:36.:06:44.

start being as accurate as the Canadians have been already. Looking

:06:45.:07:07.

for an in turn draw here. That is OK. A fraction too far. He was going

:07:08.:07:26.

to ask him to come in and freeze, but now that they can see all of it,

:07:27.:07:33.

electing to peel less one away -- this one away. The first four

:07:34.:07:48.

stones, the red line, the first four stones cannot be removed but they

:07:49.:08:00.

can if they are in the house. Great Britain cannot remove until four

:08:01.:08:05.

stones have been played by each team.

:08:06.:08:20.

We need this one to come little bit closer. -- a little bit closer. Did

:08:21.:08:38.

you see the umpire at the end of the first end walked up to the British

:08:39.:08:46.

team? Michael Goodfellow has walked off because his shirt has nothing on

:08:47.:08:52.

the back, his shirt does not have his name on and he has been asked to

:08:53.:08:58.

change his shirt. He has left the arena. Something for the ladies!

:08:59.:09:11.

That is a shirt violation. It is part of the rules to have your name

:09:12.:09:16.

on the back. I am not sure if that is a mistake. We only have one

:09:17.:09:30.

sweeper, Greg Drummond. Not a good start from Scott Andrews. I think in

:09:31.:09:39.

a few matches Scott has started wait nervously -- quite nervously. Now

:09:40.:09:56.

that that excitement is over... I am all hot and bothered! Canada have

:09:57.:10:08.

the advantage swing in their direction a little. That is not so

:10:09.:10:23.

bad. Scott Andrews, understandably, he has nerves, all of them will

:10:24.:10:34.

have. All of his fans in Ayrshire will be wishing him the best.

:10:35.:10:46.

Michael Goodfellow is back to help with this sweeping. Just catching

:10:47.:10:59.

it, but only just. They have managed to sweep that enough, it is not far

:11:00.:11:08.

away, just fractions. This is the problem. If you do not start on fire

:11:09.:11:18.

against Canada you can suddenly find yourself with a massive mountain to

:11:19.:11:24.

climb. Somehow we have to hang onto them, even if we are not playing

:11:25.:11:33.

well. A little error from Ryan Fry will stop an opportunity -- gives us

:11:34.:11:52.

an opportunity. Plenty for Dave Murdoch to work with.

:11:53.:12:04.

Soren Gran, College of the GB men -- the coach. Tom Brewster the fifth

:12:05.:12:41.

man at these championships. He set up this team with the front end and

:12:42.:12:47.

took these boys to the World Championships and picked up two

:12:48.:13:01.

silvers and then gave a Dave Murdoch came in about a year ago. Tell me

:13:02.:13:10.

about Ryan Fry. He followed that all the way down. Is that bravado? No, I

:13:11.:13:20.

think it is a little bit old-fashioned, a lot of curlers did

:13:21.:13:29.

that, I do not think it is necessary. It is maybe a bit of

:13:30.:13:38.

showmanship, I have no idea. This is shaping up a little bit better, a

:13:39.:13:47.

nice shot from Greg Drummond. There was a lot of curl.

:13:48.:14:10.

Brad Jacobs, this bombastic skip of the Canadian team.

:14:11.:14:31.

He would have liked a little bit more of a roll there. Just takes one

:14:32.:14:45.

mistake, and this end shaping up. Not big ones, but it is shaping up

:14:46.:14:55.

to go our way. A nice straightforward end after the drama

:14:56.:14:58.

of the first end would be perfect for Great Britain. Dave Murdoch with

:14:59.:15:04.

these two stones will try to make sure that he sits comfortably, and

:15:05.:15:08.

Jacobs will have to take his out, and then Dave Murdoch can come in

:15:09.:15:11.

and get his two, hopefully. Not much option here for the

:15:12.:15:24.

Canadian skip. He will be looking for a little roll

:15:25.:15:39.

into the centre there. He tried it last time, and it didn't quite come

:15:40.:15:45.

off. Let's see if he can play a better shot here from his point of

:15:46.:15:52.

view. This is a slightly easier shot to play, because Dave Murdoch's

:15:53.:15:56.

stone is sat a little closer to the centre line. And that gives Jacobs

:15:57.:15:59.

something he can roll behind. That is a nice shot. I thought he

:16:00.:16:21.

had laid it high there, but as the weight came off it, it drew closer

:16:22.:16:30.

to the centre line. Dave can't use that read on to yellow, because that

:16:31.:16:34.

will go in the wrong direction. -- that red stone onto the yellow

:16:35.:16:36.

stone. When you come down, he will want to

:16:37.:16:48.

try to tap that back. He has just got to be so careful with weight

:16:49.:16:56.

here. He can only see in inch, if he is lucky. It just won't come at all.

:16:57.:17:05.

He needs to catch enough of it so that he doesn't roll too far

:17:06.:17:09.

himself, needs enough weight to push it back, so this is a very difficult

:17:10.:17:17.

shot. He had to rescue his team in the first end to limit the damage to

:17:18.:17:19.

two. He needs enough weight to try to tap

:17:20.:17:35.

this Canadian stone back. As Jackie says, if he doesn't roll out... No.

:17:36.:17:46.

It is going to be close. It is one, but not the two he wanted. A good

:17:47.:17:57.

effort from David Murdoch. Another half an inch of curl, and he would

:17:58.:18:03.

have got it. So after two ends, it is advantage Canada. They have the

:18:04.:18:10.

hammer in the next, and it will be important for Britain to limit the

:18:11.:18:15.

if they can. It wasn't a bad end. Just maybe the first shot from

:18:16.:18:20.

Murdoch would have been nice if it had just sat slightly the other

:18:21.:18:23.

side, and then it wouldn't have been so easy for Jacobs to hit and

:18:24.:18:31.

rolling behind those guards. But goodness, he had a go at it. We said

:18:32.:18:37.

if the angle wasn't right, he would roll out, and he just rolled a few

:18:38.:18:43.

inches further than the Canadian stone. Close, but that's what this

:18:44.:18:47.

game is all about. A tough start, Jackie. Yes. I am

:18:48.:19:04.

really glad we got one there. I was beginning to see the ladies bronze

:19:05.:19:14.

medal game there, when we were 3-0 down, in the semifinals, sorry. But

:19:15.:19:23.

that was well recovered, sorry. Not the end that we would possibly have

:19:24.:19:28.

wanted, they were definitely playing for the two, and they were just

:19:29.:19:32.

unlucky. But if we can keep Canada to the one here, and take two in the

:19:33.:19:42.

next end. The boys will be thinking that, always think two or three

:19:43.:19:43.

shots ahead. Hardline, guys! Take it. These

:19:44.:19:56.

Canadians pride themselves on their sweeping ability. All of them list

:19:57.:20:01.

among their hobbies weightlifting, being in the gym. It is so much part

:20:02.:20:08.

of their game. That went just a little far there, perhaps, Ryan

:20:09.:20:13.

Harnden. The youngest of the two brothers, he is 27. We have spoken

:20:14.:20:18.

about this all week. These lead players play a crucial role in the

:20:19.:20:24.

game of curling. Their stone placement is key to how the game

:20:25.:20:31.

will be played. And that first stone of Canada there has just gone behind

:20:32.:20:37.

the T. That is just going to slip past, as

:20:38.:20:56.

well. These shots, that we are trying to describe to you, it is so

:20:57.:21:00.

important that they are almost perfect, because at this level, you

:21:01.:21:02.

will be punished. Close is good, but it's not good

:21:03.:21:08.

enough. And again, if you are wondering, the

:21:09.:21:32.

sweepers are relying on themselves and the players to limit the stone,

:21:33.:21:38.

and the skip asking them to hold the line, which they can do by

:21:39.:21:44.

sweeping, and to also let the stone travel little further if necessary.

:21:45.:21:51.

Scott Andrews just needs to settle them. A couple of good shots from

:21:52.:21:59.

him would be good. This looked like it is struggling for line and wait.

:22:00.:22:09.

Just get it passed. -- line and weight.

:22:10.:22:14.

That would have curled into that guard, just what they wanted. The

:22:15.:22:20.

sweepers just got it by. They just want to come down and sit

:22:21.:22:42.

right on the bottom there. It is all about setting the end up. We saw

:22:43.:22:48.

lots of this this morning in the bronze medal match. At some point,

:22:49.:22:57.

there were many stones moved, one big hit and they all scatter. This

:22:58.:23:05.

isn't what he wanted, either. They may actually have got away with

:23:06.:23:11.

that. He tapped his own back there. He was looking to come in and freeze

:23:12.:23:13.

on top of the yellow. Jackie was making the point that

:23:14.:23:26.

this morning, they blanked the first end, and the second, third and

:23:27.:23:34.

fourth end, we saw some great shots the skippers. -- the skips. Both

:23:35.:23:43.

players were not frightened to have stones in the house, and the

:23:44.:23:49.

Canadians, too, play a lot more of this style of game. The only thing

:23:50.:23:54.

for them is they know Dave Murdoch can make the big shots. They feel as

:23:55.:24:03.

though it just forces the issue. They play this game week ending,

:24:04.:24:09.

weekend out. They have really good international ice. This is pulling a

:24:10.:24:12.

lot. Will they catch the guard? That is a real shame. Scott Andrews

:24:13.:24:31.

has had some really good games, and this is the Olympic final, and we

:24:32.:24:34.

have to give them a little bit of leeway here. They will be nervous.

:24:35.:24:39.

They have to settle them. Unfortunately for Scott, it is lying

:24:40.:24:47.

on him at the moment. He is the one who has struggled here out of all of

:24:48.:24:51.

these players. There have been mistakes elsewhere. He has struggled

:24:52.:25:00.

to find a good stone. The sweepers have helped it in. He just asked to

:25:01.:25:08.

continue to block that out. What about this one?

:25:09.:25:27.

He is trying to convince himself it is pretty good, if he says it often

:25:28.:25:35.

enough. They are just getting a little bit off, I wouldn't call it

:25:36.:25:38.

luck, because you find your own luck in this, but a couple of their

:25:39.:25:44.

shots which haven't been delivered perfectly have been OK. But if you

:25:45.:25:50.

are coming into the house like that, you can just catch a nice little

:25:51.:25:58.

tap. But if you err are coming in and you hit the guard, it is more of

:25:59.:26:08.

the difficulty for your team. So we need to catch this one on the nose.

:26:09.:26:14.

Greg has just pushed that one... My heart bleeds for these guys. I just

:26:15.:26:21.

feel like they are nervous. They are forcing some of the stones, and they

:26:22.:26:26.

desperately need to just relax. Come on, Greg. Let's not panic. We

:26:27.:26:38.

panicked earlier, and... If you are getting beat by excellent

:26:39.:26:44.

shots from the opposition, whatever sport you are in, you don't want to

:26:45.:26:48.

give it to them on a plate by playing draw shots. I can see Dave

:26:49.:26:57.

pacing up and down the back there. He is checking the angles. Limit the

:26:58.:27:04.

damage. If he can keep them down to two, but there are still four

:27:05.:27:12.

Canadian stones to go and three British stones, let's not forget.

:27:13.:27:18.

But it has not been a good start, we have to say that. There is nothing

:27:19.:27:24.

else you can really say. You cannot disguise the fact that we have

:27:25.:27:26.

played some poor shots. All Jacobs has to be wary of here is

:27:27.:27:45.

just giving Dave Murdoch too much of a target, setting the stones up with

:27:46.:27:49.

the right angles. That might be tempting.

:27:50.:28:00.

Dave has the call here. He is looking at those Canadian stones. He

:28:01.:28:10.

is fancying that one on the outside, just asking Greg Drummond

:28:11.:28:13.

how much he can see of it. He says three quarters. So, expect to see

:28:14.:28:19.

some of those red stones scattering here. See how this comes out. He is

:28:20.:28:28.

looking to hit that stone just beside Dave's broom. Don't want to

:28:29.:28:34.

hit the first one. And they did. It is not too bad. It

:28:35.:28:47.

is a better situation than they were facing, but even then, they just

:28:48.:28:51.

caught the front Canadian stone on the way in. That is why he's

:28:52.:29:01.

frustrated. Watch this. Just caught it. Yes, but we have got a great

:29:02.:29:09.

result out of that. It was looking like a dangerous end, but we have

:29:10.:29:13.

moved three red stones out of the house there.

:29:14.:29:16.

We are hanging on here. We could do with a couple of shots

:29:17.:29:31.

from the Canadians that just give Dave Murdoch the chance to limit

:29:32.:29:35.

them to two, but even that would be a 4-1 lead. He will be hoping to

:29:36.:29:41.

take this right back just behind the tea level, level with the other

:29:42.:30:18.

stones tea level, level with the other

:30:19.:30:34.

roll. To move closer to the eight foot.

:30:35.:30:49.

roll. To move closer to the eight with his last stone. He needed

:30:50.:30:58.

roll. To move closer to the eight going to be straightforward for

:30:59.:31:33.

roll. To move closer to the eight his shot ear -- here. Looking pretty

:31:34.:32:06.

straight on. Yes. Can we play this? Pointing out that if he goes for the

:32:07.:32:10.

double there is a good chance that the Canadian stone will jam against

:32:11.:32:22.

the yellow. I am worried we go for this and we lock it. I think you are

:32:23.:32:39.

close to locking that. He certainly has been up against it in the last

:32:40.:32:49.

three ends. He has to move two Canadian stones, DN and make sure

:32:50.:32:55.

that the first stone he heads does not jam against the yellow. The

:32:56.:33:04.

other option is to come in on the other one. He has decided the double

:33:05.:33:16.

is too difficult as he thinks it will jam on the back yellow so he

:33:17.:33:27.

has decided to go for an in-turn hit. It means Canada may have a draw

:33:28.:33:40.

for two because he is not going to get the shot out of this. They have

:33:41.:33:53.

to work that hard. He has a shot for three. Despite the sweeping, they

:33:54.:34:10.

could not get past their won own stone. This could not be going any

:34:11.:34:21.

worse for Great Britain. They have not been able to apply any pressure

:34:22.:34:26.

to Canada and have given them straightforward shots to make.

:34:27.:34:43.

We have been hanging on and asking Dave Murdoch to make the big shots

:34:44.:34:51.

and we said he could not keep doing that and even after three ends he

:34:52.:34:56.

has been trying to rescue his team, but they find themselves in a dire

:34:57.:35:05.

situation. Something dramatic needs to happen if we are to have any

:35:06.:35:13.

chance. All you can do is take the hammer to the next and hope you get

:35:14.:35:20.

your two, but it means that Canada will be in control. Somehow Britain

:35:21.:35:29.

have to create some sort of pressure. The first thing we have to

:35:30.:35:36.

do is to settle down. Dave Murdoch has been doing his best but he needs

:35:37.:35:40.

backed up I his team and they have to find two shots in the next end.

:35:41.:35:51.

They have to settle down. Take the pressure off your backs and play the

:35:52.:36:01.

shot you are asked. I have been in the situation many times when you

:36:02.:36:04.

are desperately trying hard to play the best shot you can but nothing

:36:05.:36:11.

works for you. Pick up a simple two, that is what we said, take your

:36:12.:36:19.

time, take a two and I am sure they will get a lot from the fifth end

:36:20.:36:26.

break from their coach and from Tom Brewster. We have seen it many times

:36:27.:36:31.

you can come out the second half and be completely different. I hate to

:36:32.:36:38.

say it, the Canadians look strong, they have not made many errors. They

:36:39.:36:45.

look more confident than they have done all week. If Canada lose this

:36:46.:36:54.

from this point, they might as well not get on the aeroplane and go

:36:55.:37:00.

warm, because in Canada they will be thinking this is over. They have to

:37:01.:37:08.

find a way to turn this around and let us not forget the Round Robin,

:37:09.:37:16.

was it Denmark? I think we were down 5-1 after three or four ends, but

:37:17.:37:24.

they did come back and win that. Yes. What we cannot afford to do is

:37:25.:37:32.

let these guys get their tails in the air, and that is what has

:37:33.:37:41.

happened at the minute. I think we both decided that there is, if you

:37:42.:37:49.

can get pressure on Brad Jacobs, it earlier in the competition when it

:37:50.:37:57.

seemed that this he had underestimated -- it seemed as if he

:37:58.:38:03.

had underestimated the Olympic Games and they lost more matches than they

:38:04.:38:08.

had intended to, although it was only a couple in the end. Probably

:38:09.:38:14.

fortunate to get a win against China. If you want to put any

:38:15.:38:23.

pressure on them, they are well capable of completely controlling

:38:24.:38:32.

this match. That is better. I might have been tempted to put up another

:38:33.:38:38.

guard. They are just going to thrash absolutely everything at our yellow

:38:39.:38:48.

stone 's. I am not the best one to judge on the men's tactics, but you

:38:49.:38:58.

have to try to create the end. The Denmark game, we were five - one

:38:59.:39:03.

down after five ends and came back to win 7-6. It can be done. Come on,

:39:04.:39:19.

Scott. It is the Olympic final, you need to start playing your best

:39:20.:39:22.

shots that you possibly can. That is a nice attempt. Slowly and

:39:23.:39:50.

surely put the pressure on the Canadians, that is what we have to

:39:51.:39:58.

do. Brad Jacobs asking his team to take off that guard the cause that

:39:59.:40:03.

is the one that will be of danger to them. Shoot forward peel --

:40:04.:40:12.

straightforward. Trying to replace that corner guard

:40:13.:40:37.

once again. The guys having to work this hard, trying to pull it as much

:40:38.:40:48.

as they can. That is a little better. Scott is struggling. You can

:40:49.:40:59.

understand it, first Olympic final, it has been a roller-coaster ride to

:41:00.:41:04.

get here, you know you already have a medal, and that is a huge

:41:05.:41:08.

achievement in itself, and you are up against this Canadian team.

:41:09.:41:25.

Brad Jacobs said to begin with when Ryan Fry came in the team... Almost

:41:26.:41:36.

missed it... He said that he struggled with the chemistry, but he

:41:37.:41:43.

said that Christmas 2012 they started to get to know each other

:41:44.:41:49.

better. It has all been very good for them since then. At the worlds

:41:50.:41:57.

last year they were beaten in the semifinal. They came through the

:41:58.:42:07.

very difficult Canadian trials, Canadian Olympic trials, in

:42:08.:42:15.

December. They came through those Olympic trials and defeated. That

:42:16.:42:19.

was one of the questions we asked, if that would be an additional

:42:20.:42:34.

pressure -- undefeated. They said no.

:42:35.:42:51.

They will be hoping to hit and roll, just rolled a little bit too for.

:42:52.:43:09.

Dave Murdoch will try to roll back to the other side. Just need to

:43:10.:43:15.

assure ourselves we get it right. That is a good shot. Really

:43:16.:43:43.

important we hit the right. You must keep your shooter in the house.

:43:44.:43:58.

They have to try to talk positively. Greg Drummond asking, I am not sure,

:43:59.:44:11.

are we calling it right? You have to look for the positives, get the two,

:44:12.:44:17.

close the gap. Of course Canada have put themselves in a brilliant

:44:18.:44:29.

position. Must get the two. Do not give him a chance to take both of

:44:30.:44:45.

your stones out. Brad Jacobs was happy to take the hit and roll macro

:44:46.:44:51.

there. Look at the difference in the statistics, 93 to 71. They are

:44:52.:44:58.

probably thinking, take your two, we don't mind. If we have a couple of

:44:59.:45:06.

ends where we do have a hammer and we only get one, that will still be

:45:07.:45:11.

OK. But that might be the sort of attitude that will help us, if they

:45:12.:45:16.

relax a little. We just need this one to sit in the house. We need it

:45:17.:45:19.

to stop. ! Stop! I'm not sure what else can go wrong

:45:20.:45:34.

here. I know you are trying to talk

:45:35.:45:50.

positive, Jackie, and I'm with you. But you cannot do that. You cannot

:45:51.:45:56.

do that. This is just not happening for the boys at the moment. It

:45:57.:45:58.

really isn't. The wheels are just coming off the

:45:59.:46:11.

wagon. They are just handing it on a plate at the moment. They had a

:46:12.:46:20.

rocky road in the round robin, let's be frank about that. They won some

:46:21.:46:25.

games that were really well played, and got given a couple of games to

:46:26.:46:31.

them where the opposition played bad shots. They played out of their

:46:32.:46:36.

skins in the semifinal... Hang on a minute. Hang on a minute. Hold on. I

:46:37.:46:45.

just thought maybe it was going to crash on that guard. And that's

:46:46.:46:51.

weeping, they are shattered. Is there enough for Dave Murdoch to be

:46:52.:47:00.

able to see it and get his to? Now I know why their T-shirts are so

:47:01.:47:06.

tight! I think they should have got a bigger size. But I think that is

:47:07.:47:14.

what they are there for. As I said, they had a rocky road to get it, but

:47:15.:47:18.

let's take nothing away from these boys. They have when the press has

:47:19.:47:23.

been against them tried to play their very very best. We have seen

:47:24.:47:28.

Greg Drummond play out of his skin most of this week.

:47:29.:47:33.

Well, this has got to be right. He must get the two here. He is just

:47:34.:47:45.

looking to get an edge on that. It is starting to turn. It has got to

:47:46.:47:51.

really work here, turn quick enough to be able to catch that Canadian

:47:52.:48:02.

stone. Stop there! Stop there! Has he even got one? I think it is a

:48:03.:48:24.

read. -- red stone. It is so weight -dependent. Do you think they have

:48:25.:48:32.

got a one-man? I think we have got the one. Perhaps I am being

:48:33.:48:39.

optimistic. I am trying to be optimistic.

:48:40.:48:43.

But even a one is only a partial success. You can see that gauge, you

:48:44.:49:07.

will see the needle move, it is Canada! He has asked him to measure

:49:08.:49:16.

it again. We have been all week only is. It is very difficult. It is

:49:17.:49:25.

difficult from this camera angle to judge where it is. He has changed

:49:26.:49:37.

the needle. The go-ahead. Move your head! We can't see. It is in the

:49:38.:49:39.

way. One read. -- one red. That is just tightening Canada's

:49:40.:50:03.

grip on this match. This is really sad for the boys, and it is really

:50:04.:50:07.

painful to be up here commentating on it. Keep going. It really is an

:50:08.:50:20.

uphill struggle now. What you have to do in these situations is just

:50:21.:50:25.

get out there and play your two stones. Through them to the best of

:50:26.:50:27.

your ability. Two shots from David Murdoch, and

:50:28.:50:45.

they were hard. But that wasn't as good as we know he can do, he knows

:50:46.:50:47.

he can do. He knows it. Well, it is Friday afternoon at

:50:48.:51:02.

home. Just hang in there for a bit. You never know. Some mistakes along

:51:03.:51:08.

the line, we could pick up a three. It has happened. That was very

:51:09.:51:16.

light. He needed to be top for there. -- top four there. Again,

:51:17.:51:25.

just a little error from the opposition. The problem is, Jackie,

:51:26.:51:33.

they have made the odd small error, but ours have been huge. All we have

:51:34.:51:39.

certainly been made to pay for them, and we haven't capitalised on

:51:40.:51:41.

any that the Canadians have made. I hear the boys saying it is fast. I

:51:42.:52:01.

haven't heard them shouting any times supply can find out what time

:52:02.:52:09.

it is. -- so that I can find out what time it is.

:52:10.:52:21.

The Canadians certainly aren't playing them heavy.

:52:22.:52:38.

It is hard. You can see the demeanour of the team, shoulders or

:52:39.:52:49.

slumped a bit. You can even hear it in the crowd, actually. You can't

:52:50.:52:57.

hear anything in the crowd! Without getting too depressed about

:52:58.:53:01.

this, stranger things have happened. And the great thing about curling is

:53:02.:53:10.

that it is literally one bad shot can change things around completely.

:53:11.:53:16.

It is a hope that you can hang onto. It is not particularly a nice thing

:53:17.:53:21.

to do, to hope for your opposition to make a mistake, but it does

:53:22.:53:26.

happen. If you were with us early on in the bronze medal match, China

:53:27.:53:30.

were on top for most of the match with Sweden. And then on two

:53:31.:53:35.

occasions in the ninth end and the extra end, there were violations. If

:53:36.:53:42.

you don't let go of the stone before that red line, it is banned. We had

:53:43.:53:50.

a couple there which I have not even seen all week.

:53:51.:53:58.

The British support, and the Canadians as well. Including the

:53:59.:54:08.

Canadian and British women's teams. They are here to support their

:54:09.:54:13.

team-mates. All you can really do is hope for some horrendous mistake

:54:14.:54:24.

that lets you win. -- lets you in. And the other option that wouldn't

:54:25.:54:31.

be nice is if Canada jump out and get another three or four shots,

:54:32.:54:39.

giving us an early end to this final. Let's hope that doesn't

:54:40.:54:40.

happen. And of course because of the way

:54:41.:54:51.

this is, Jackie, Canada don't have to do anything. No, they just have

:54:52.:54:59.

to start throwing some heavy granite down here and ripping everything

:55:00.:55:04.

off. They are running for home. They don't have to do anything difficult.

:55:05.:55:09.

And they are not going to follow us into a drawing game, because they

:55:10.:55:14.

are way too experienced for that kind of thing. You give these guys

:55:15.:55:23.

two or three shots ahead of you, and it is difficult, never mind five.

:55:24.:55:29.

I like the hack. Try to roll it right behind. That is behind the T.

:55:30.:55:54.

We want to stay in the open. I think the Canadians need to avoid trying

:55:55.:55:55.

to be too clever. Dave Murdoch just asking Greg

:55:56.:56:28.

Drummond to come down and hit that stone and roll back across to wear

:56:29.:56:32.

the yellow was a couple of moments ago.

:56:33.:56:36.

All they can do is keep trying, keep putting the stones in the right

:56:37.:56:44.

place, hopefully some error. It just gives them a glimmer of hope. It

:56:45.:56:50.

least gets them on the scoreboard in a better scenario than they have at

:56:51.:56:53.

the moment. That is not bad for Greg. And again, Greg Drummond has

:56:54.:57:02.

been pretty solid. I can remember one not so good shot from him in

:57:03.:57:09.

this final so far. Scott has struggled, and Dave Murdoch has had

:57:10.:57:10.

some difficult shots to try to make. Have they got this past the guard?

:57:11.:57:30.

Yes, they have. That is a good shot, some nice sweeping once more.

:57:31.:57:39.

I'm not sure that they need to try to play this game, they take the

:57:40.:57:45.

guard off, we keep replacing it. If they have some stones in the house,

:57:46.:57:50.

it does give as a slight opportunity.

:57:51.:57:54.

We will hang on to anything at the moment. If we can just get a little

:57:55.:58:03.

bit of a roll here. Unlucky. And of course that means

:58:04.:58:21.

they can use this and roll in behind the two stones.

:58:22.:58:42.

An odd atmosphere now in the Ice Cube Center. A lot of Canadian

:58:43.:58:50.

supporters, a lot of British, of course. They had been expecting a

:58:51.:58:56.

humdinger of a final, but it has been one-way traffic until now.

:58:57.:59:04.

Whichever team is going to win this gold, they want to win it however

:59:05.:59:10.

they possibly can. The two semifinals for me has been

:59:11.:59:15.

humdingers, as you say. We had some really fantastic shooting, lots of

:59:16.:59:21.

great calling and great play. There have been too many errors in this

:59:22.:59:29.

game. Not really from the Canadians, though.

:59:30.:59:54.

I don't think you're losing. You can't lose both of them and sitting.

:59:55.:00:09.

Dave wanting to come in and stop top button, but you heard him say it is

:00:10.:00:20.

going to be very tight at the top yellow without it taking too much of

:00:21.:00:27.

a pull. Yes, he needs to miss the yellow stone by the smallest of

:00:28.:00:44.

margins and hope that it curls in. This is another difficult shot for

:00:45.:00:54.

Dave Murdoch. He needs to slide by by the smallest of margins. It has

:00:55.:01:07.

to sit as well. A little too far. So close. A very difficult shot. He is

:01:08.:01:21.

doing his best. Right from the very beginning, he has been up against

:01:22.:01:23.

it. They are checking what Murdoch would

:01:24.:01:51.

have next. They are getting cocky. Make him play this again. It should

:01:52.:02:01.

really make no difference to them running for home. I like the guard.

:02:02.:02:21.

Surely you would regard this. They just have to play reasonably

:02:22.:02:33.

conservatively. I do not think so. I thought they might block the hall we

:02:34.:02:39.

have just come through. Dave was unlucky but he was not far away. He

:02:40.:02:49.

desperately needs the two. They would be happy to give him the one,

:02:50.:02:55.

they just do not want to give him the opportunity of getting a two.

:02:56.:03:02.

There is no opportunity they were they are sitting at the moment --

:03:03.:03:17.

the way they are sitting. If he gets an age -- edge off, but it is such a

:03:18.:03:32.

difficult shot. I was not sure if we get onto the

:03:33.:03:48.

nose, and also if we come far enough back we might get a shot out of it.

:03:49.:04:08.

The best he is going to get is one. You heard him saying, you almost

:04:09.:04:12.

have to keep it out there are high and wait for the break to come and

:04:13.:04:19.

then sweep. This has taken a big break. They have done well. This

:04:20.:04:36.

should be good enough for one. He will be happy to give up that one.

:04:37.:04:50.

The first five ends of this match Britain would want to forget. It is

:04:51.:04:55.

not over, but it could not really have been any worse. When we

:04:56.:05:02.

resume, there is the chance of more damage as Canada have the hammer in

:05:03.:05:05.

the sixth. What is your analysis? It is

:05:06.:05:27.

difficult. Dave played a fantastic shot only to give up a two in the

:05:28.:05:32.

first end full up they have had their backs against the wall and now

:05:33.:05:36.

they have nothing to lose. Soren Gran is the coach. Does he have the

:05:37.:05:43.

hairdryer treatment that Alex Ferguson had? How will he left them?

:05:44.:05:52.

It is hard to know what he does to motivate the boys. They are not

:05:53.:05:58.

going to be failing the best. -- feeling. Such a margin is hard to

:05:59.:06:08.

take to the Canadians. Try to get a steal, try to force Canada and get

:06:09.:06:17.

your two back. It is a lot to ask because they are a fantastic hitting

:06:18.:06:23.

team, but it is not over, let's have seized. -- faith. The first end

:06:24.:06:39.

darted difficult. It was. The gradients went right for it the

:06:40.:06:49.

first end and leave -- Dave could have lost more there. He needs his

:06:50.:06:57.

team just it up. They have struggled. There have been too many

:06:58.:07:06.

half shots. They have been out on the ice almost two weeks. It is

:07:07.:07:15.

almost like the Olympic final they have frozen under the pressure.

:07:16.:07:21.

Yes. It was always going to be tough. For the guys it is their

:07:22.:07:30.

first Olympics and for Dave it is his first play-off. It is not over.

:07:31.:07:39.

They still have a chance. They are guaranteed the silver medal. That is

:07:40.:07:46.

fantastic. They are going to give it everything but they have to step up

:07:47.:07:53.

their performance. The third and they to three. -- third end they

:07:54.:08:13.

took three. They under sweat that, when they could have played a head

:08:14.:08:20.

and roll. They were never going to miss that. Let's have faith. Hot on

:08:21.:08:32.

the heels was the steal in N four. We would have hoped we could have

:08:33.:08:35.

got some back and we ended up losing one. They had a chance to split the

:08:36.:08:48.

house. Greg was a little bit heavy and he will be devastated with

:08:49.:08:54.

that. That is a big mess. You cannot afford to do that at this level. He

:08:55.:09:05.

needs to tap on a couple of inches -- tap the stone. We can look at the

:09:06.:09:12.

statistics. Pretty high numbers. Ryan Fry is

:09:13.:09:34.

usually higher than that. His strength is hitting and that is what

:09:35.:09:39.

they are going to be doing from now on. Scott Andrews, 63%, that is not

:09:40.:09:50.

going to win you games at this level I am afraid. Fingers crossed for the

:09:51.:10:06.

boys. We need something of Olympian

:10:07.:10:11.

proportions, we need to find something extra special that most

:10:12.:10:20.

people in this arena would consider impossible. Tough. We have come out

:10:21.:10:34.

onto the sixth end and Canada have the hammer so if they get another

:10:35.:10:42.

advantage, even one shot above us, it would be great if we can keep

:10:43.:10:47.

them to the one. I am sure Soren Gran will have told the boys to

:10:48.:10:52.

relax and enjoy the rest of the game and often when your shoulders are

:10:53.:10:54.

not as tense you will start to play better. That is what I was looking

:10:55.:11:11.

at listening to leave. -- Eve. 7-4 after seven ends, they have to be at

:11:12.:11:22.

least at that point. If not, we will be in a scenario... I think most

:11:23.:11:28.

beagle would expect that any day and stood close this out -- most people

:11:29.:11:39.

would expect the Canadians to run this home. Sometimes you do not get

:11:40.:11:51.

the run of the stones. I am not saying Canada have had luck, they

:11:52.:11:57.

have played exactly how they would have wanted to and how we have

:11:58.:12:03.

allowed them to, but when they have played a slightly poor shot it has

:12:04.:12:09.

not affected them, whereas ours have. Keep the faith. Hang on to

:12:10.:12:25.

your brush. You never know. It would be one of the great comebacks if

:12:26.:12:33.

this were to happen. Scott Andrew is asking for an out-turn tap. We are

:12:34.:12:52.

not past. I am going to gasp. We have to be making these shots. So

:12:53.:13:04.

difficult to watch. Dave knows they have to be making their shots. Poor

:13:05.:13:14.

Scott has had a turbulent time-out there -- turbulent time. They had to

:13:15.:13:26.

work so hard to get one passed in the previous end. This Olympic final

:13:27.:13:40.

is not one in which Britain as a team, and Scott in particular, have

:13:41.:13:46.

managed to rise to the occasion, but there is time. This is my point.

:13:47.:13:59.

They play shots that are not perfect and we are not able to take

:14:00.:14:03.

advantage, or have not been able to so far. If you shave the top guard

:14:04.:14:15.

on the in-turn, you might be right behind him. What weight? Scott was

:14:16.:14:29.

looking to come down the in-turn, it does finish, but the line is not

:14:30.:14:39.

there because it is a high guard, so they are forced to come down the

:14:40.:14:45.

out-turn and there is no backing on the right-hand side. These guys are

:14:46.:14:52.

going to blast everything they can see. They are. And by catching that

:14:53.:15:04.

stone, makes their job a little easier. By taking the corner, that's

:15:05.:15:09.

the one that's going to be a danger to him. Running out of options, you

:15:10.:15:15.

can see. You can see it in his face. He's trying hard, but there's a hint

:15:16.:15:21.

of resignation on his face. And there you go, two of them. Clearing

:15:22.:15:29.

the centre. I was hoping a victory dance would

:15:30.:15:40.

have been enough for both teams. This match is for gold and silver

:15:41.:16:03.

and the silver medal, if things stay the way they are, is achievable.

:16:04.:16:18.

Probably not going to remove that. Probably going to take the back one.

:16:19.:16:31.

A little mistake somewhere... Doesn't look like one of them.

:16:32.:16:46.

They just want to sit right down on the face of the red on the one foot.

:16:47.:17:02.

That's left to Greg Drummond. An intern draw. Oo clear line and no

:17:03.:17:13.

bump is what we are look looking for.

:17:14.:17:22.

Trying to hold it in there. This might be OK. They have lost that

:17:23.:17:29.

stone as well. Yes, they laid off it. They said as well, there's not

:17:30.:17:34.

been any call. The guys have to be giving indications of where they

:17:35.:17:38.

think it's going to go. And not far out though, it's got to curl and it

:17:39.:17:41.

was always going to do that because the way it was coming off it, it was

:17:42.:17:45.

always going to curl but needed to be kept on the line. Stale danger

:17:46.:17:58.

sitting there, but they can utilise it and push it back.

:17:59.:18:07.

I think Greg made that look OK and you have to be able to judge the

:18:08.:18:13.

weight and the line. Just feels like everything is going against us at

:18:14.:18:14.

the moment. Fry looking to disturb all of the

:18:15.:18:29.

stones probably. Certainly the top two British ones.

:18:30.:18:37.

Still Canada's shot now. Britain with the second. Canada with third.

:18:38.:19:58.

He's going to try with the second. Canada with third.

:19:59.:20:17.

He's going to try easy to remove both yellows. If

:20:18.:20:26.

Got to keep playing the shots with conviction. That's what's worrying

:20:27.:20:26.

me, there's conviction. That's what's worrying

:20:27.:20:38.

shots. Has he got it? No, Dave has been left with

:20:39.:20:45.

shots. Has he got it? No, Dave has shot is a hit and roll but the guys

:20:46.:21:04.

shots. Has he got it? No, Dave has Poor Dave's really up against it.

:21:05.:21:19.

up two here, and I don't just mean this

:21:20.:21:37.

up two here, and I don't just mean There may be a scenario where you

:21:38.:21:37.

their bronze medal match today. Listen to me. Arm chair fan. I'm

:22:20.:22:43.

Big call for Dave Murdoch. He has of theed for an out-turn hit on that

:22:44.:22:49.

back reined behind. Is it the right call? -- behind. Could have been the

:22:50.:22:57.

double. Just try and force the one, then take two.

:22:58.:23:01.

Got to sit. And it doesn't. This is just an easy draw.

:23:02.:23:14.

I think he's trying too hard. Sometimes you have to go back to

:23:15.:23:19.

playing the basic, simple shot. Take the double there, he practices these

:23:20.:23:25.

all the time. Forced the one. Take a two in the next end. But just

:23:26.:23:32.

maybe... Well I think if you are making all of your shots, great,

:23:33.:23:35.

take on the difficult shots, but there for me, it was give up one,

:23:36.:23:44.

try to get the two, close the gap. Justice in some small way, but now

:23:45.:23:52.

this, it comes in and if it's right, which it should be, I expect it to

:23:53.:23:57.

be. Yes, even trying to hit the little one behind. They are going to

:23:58.:24:03.

thrash that. That's another two and a big, big

:24:04.:24:14.

gap now There is a huge mountain to climb.

:24:15.:24:18.

A huge mountain to climb. Dive off the top of it, get to the bottom of

:24:19.:24:22.

the ocean, grab a raft and drag it back to the surface! Not a lot of

:24:23.:24:28.

chance of anything like that happening. 8-2 after six ends.

:24:29.:24:33.

They'll keep playing, I'm sure they will. Just not sure that was the

:24:34.:24:37.

right strategy there, but Dave Murdoch's the man down there, he's

:24:38.:24:43.

the skip, he's in charge. He backed himself to make that shot. He knew

:24:44.:24:48.

though if it didn't come off, again he's be giving them a

:24:49.:24:53.

straightforward chance of a two. Could have limited the damage to

:24:54.:24:58.

one. Of course, he may be thinking, I want to try and maybe steal. Not

:24:59.:25:09.

always easy - well it's always easy to sit here and make decisions -

:25:10.:25:14.

when you are down here and your head gets frazzled by everything that's

:25:15.:25:20.

going on, it's not easy to think straight. No. These guys are playing

:25:21.:25:30.

for a gold or silver. They are in the final. It's the Olympics. It's

:25:31.:25:38.

just such a shame that they haven't brought a better game here today to

:25:39.:25:40.

play. We do have the hammer. It's critical

:25:41.:26:11.

that we score a two here or more if that's possible. I think we have

:26:12.:26:16.

been saying that since the second end, unfortunately. Not wanting to

:26:17.:26:23.

sound despondent and I can tell you that, as a life long fan of at times

:26:24.:26:27.

a mediocre football team, I've sat in many a match thinking, we can

:26:28.:26:32.

score four in the last few muches, but can't remember when it last

:26:33.:26:35.

happened mind you, but you can still believe.

:26:36.:26:43.

-- matches. I know everybody back home who's gathered up to watch this

:26:44.:26:47.

in many of the ice rinks will be feeling the pain these young boys

:26:48.:26:49.

are feeling at the moment. Lots of British team members have

:26:50.:26:59.

come in to watch the curling team and Lord Coe, Sir Steve Redgrave,

:27:00.:27:05.

everybody piling in and hoping that they could do it. There always has

:27:06.:27:11.

to be a winner and a loser and it's never an easy game to lose.

:27:12.:27:16.

Plenty of the Canadian team members as well also. They'll be enjoying

:27:17.:27:28.

this. I don't know if anybody really enjoys having a match where it

:27:29.:27:35.

becomes so easy of course you don't want to be stressing in the final

:27:36.:27:39.

end on the last stone to win the gold, but I'm sure everybody would

:27:40.:27:43.

have enjoyed a much better final. We might get one yet, but something

:27:44.:27:47.

drastic needs to happen here. And Canada just do not have to do

:27:48.:27:53.

anything. It's the first Olympics for Brad

:27:54.:28:13.

Jacobs and his team and I think it did take them a few matches to get

:28:14.:28:17.

the grips with this Olympic tournament. Understand this is

:28:18.:28:22.

different and despite all the successes at home, and the silver

:28:23.:28:32.

medal, it was going to be a learning process for themselves. They did

:28:33.:28:37.

learn very, very quickly. They soon started producing their A games.

:28:38.:28:42.

Tough matches in the round robin. They didn't steam roller everybody.

:28:43.:28:48.

The semi-final match against China was a fairly comfortable affair in

:28:49.:28:59.

the end. They probably cannot believe the situation that they've

:29:00.:29:04.

got themselves into, but also that Britain have helped with some shots

:29:05.:29:16.

which, let's just say, will be disappointed with.

:29:17.:29:27.

Jennifer Jones, of course, already won the gold for Canada for the

:29:28.:29:32.

women. That was a very popular win and I think everybody even in the

:29:33.:29:36.

women's tournament accepting that Canada, or the Canadian women were

:29:37.:29:41.

better. Jennifer Jones towards the end of her career, the men here may

:29:42.:29:44.

well have another one or two Olympic campaigns in them, who knows. Of

:29:45.:29:49.

course, you cannot by rights come back and defend your title. Canada,

:29:50.:29:54.

of course, can, but it could well be a completely different team if they,

:29:55.:29:59.

in four years' time, don't get through their trials.

:30:00.:30:11.

They have to play a trials, they have a lot of strong teams,

:30:12.:30:21.

everybody find -- vying for the place to represent their country at

:30:22.:30:22.

the Olympics. What Canada will do is keep peeling

:30:23.:30:40.

the guards away, they will keep the house nice and clear, they will not

:30:41.:30:45.

allow David Murdoch any opportunities. They will not mind if

:30:46.:30:52.

he picks up one or two, but at this stage, Canada should have the hammer

:30:53.:30:57.

in the eighth end and, crucially, in the 10th end.

:30:58.:31:05.

I do not know how much longer they will want to endure this. The

:31:06.:31:13.

Canadians running for home. They are such a good hitting team, Eve

:31:14.:31:17.

Muirhead said that. They like the hitting game. Peeling out shots is

:31:18.:31:27.

easy for them. That is a nice attempt, it pulled up at the end.

:31:28.:31:35.

Standing behind, Brad Jacobs, in the shadow of the Canadian skip, David

:31:36.:31:44.

Murdoch, in his third attempt the games. He will reflect, I am sure,

:31:45.:31:51.

on a well-deserved silver medal, but he will not have enjoyed this

:31:52.:31:56.

experience. That is for sure. Coming back to the theme of future

:31:57.:32:02.

Olympics, I suppose there is still an option for him to come back, his

:32:03.:32:10.

team are certainly don't enough. It is just a question of whether he

:32:11.:32:14.

still has the fire to return, four years from now. It may take six

:32:15.:32:25.

months or a year for him to decide. It is a huge commitment, to make

:32:26.:32:30.

your decisions early. Some time off, to reflect what is in front of you.

:32:31.:32:35.

The commitment for another Olympics...

:32:36.:32:44.

It is such a long, drawn-out affair, you have to be 100% committed to it.

:32:45.:32:52.

Age is not a big issue in the world of sport, or in the world of

:32:53.:32:59.

curling. But it is getting younger and younger all the time, people are

:33:00.:33:03.

becoming full-time athletes, giving up their jobs, their careers. They

:33:04.:33:10.

are chasing the dream of an Olympic gold-medal. And to be the best they

:33:11.:33:20.

can be. I am not sure we have seen the best of Canada tonight, because

:33:21.:33:27.

we have not really pushed them into that situation, they have been able

:33:28.:33:29.

to play a fairly straightforward game, they knew it would always be a

:33:30.:33:37.

problem, and even if they had been just two or three shots ahead, it

:33:38.:33:40.

would have been incredibly difficult, even if Britain pick up

:33:41.:33:48.

to here, they do not have to do anything difficult, just do not make

:33:49.:33:53.

any mistakes, and they are clear through. They would have craved the

:33:54.:34:00.

gold medal, and their country expects. It is the men for whom

:34:01.:34:07.

silver and bronze would not have been acceptable.

:34:08.:34:26.

They have held that well, I thought it would catch the line. I am

:34:27.:34:31.

sitting right behind it. Talking about the medals, at the

:34:32.:34:49.

Winter Olympics, we have a middle-class, and every evening,

:34:50.:34:56.

down here, the medals from on the slopes and down here are presented.

:34:57.:35:04.

All of the curling adults will be presented tomorrow night, the men

:35:05.:35:11.

and women. We will have a ceremony of sorts, the flower ceremony, after

:35:12.:35:15.

the culmination of this match, when all three teams are presented with a

:35:16.:35:21.

lovely posy of flowers, and it gives the curling crowd a chance to cheer

:35:22.:35:24.

the medallists. But they will get the actual medals... In the 24

:35:25.:35:34.

hours, if this does end in the disappointment we are expecting for

:35:35.:35:38.

Great Britain, they can reflect on what has still been, or will be, and

:35:39.:35:45.

exceptional silver medal, they were not many people's tips to get into

:35:46.:35:51.

the final, even. The women were tipped as gold medallists,

:35:52.:36:26.

in for two points, he would do that 99 times out of 100 on any other

:36:27.:36:33.

occasion. It slides out of the house, he only gets the one.

:36:34.:36:42.

It may well be that there is no handshake at the moment, but with

:36:43.:36:50.

Canada having the hammer, you may have heard David Murdoch say, one

:36:51.:36:59.

more end. It is almost becoming embarrassing, and I do not mean that

:37:00.:37:04.

in a derogatory sense. If the other team have been that good, you hand

:37:05.:37:10.

it to them. But they have been making so many mistakes, and that

:37:11.:37:15.

one from David is not characteristic at all, he is a great player, one of

:37:16.:37:22.

the best in the world. That is the situation they find themselves in.

:37:23.:37:31.

He will not want to put these young guys through any more than they have

:37:32.:37:43.

to. Yes, it is difficult, David feels like he is laying his shots

:37:44.:37:47.

well, but it is just not happening today. As painful as this is for all

:37:48.:37:53.

of them down there, they have to play eight ends in the final of the

:37:54.:38:00.

Olympic Games. Quite often, we can see games finishing early, and they

:38:01.:38:05.

will come off if they feel that they cannot win the game, but they must

:38:06.:38:12.

play eight ends. If this has ended up in a disappointment, as I'm sure

:38:13.:38:18.

it has, imagine what the guys are going through. It has still been a

:38:19.:38:24.

great journey, so many people have enjoyed the curling, and we will end

:38:25.:38:28.

up with two medals for Great Britain, a massive achievement. It

:38:29.:38:36.

is a sport which has so many twists and turns. We have had great

:38:37.:38:44.

support, I believe, back home, and all over the nation, for this

:38:45.:38:50.

wonderful sport of curling. Unfortunately, this is what sport is

:38:51.:38:55.

all about, when it is going good, it is fantastic, you are riding the

:38:56.:39:02.

crest of a wave, but there are always times when it just does not

:39:03.:39:08.

happen for you. That is today. That is a nice shot from Michael

:39:09.:39:14.

Goodfellow, he is shooting 92% today, he has played so well. I have

:39:15.:39:20.

said it before, it is really important, the lead position, but he

:39:21.:39:24.

does have three others following after him. If he sets the ends up

:39:25.:39:31.

and it is not followed, it is very difficult to deal with. But it is a

:39:32.:39:35.

team sport, that is why they play it. One for all and all for one. To

:39:36.:39:49.

come back to the point of enjoyment that so many people have had from

:39:50.:39:53.

the curling, so many youngsters might be thinking about having a go,

:39:54.:39:59.

and Jackie Lockhart has talked about the opportunities that are out

:40:00.:40:04.

there. Curling only gets this coverage every four years, so it

:40:05.:40:08.

would be nice if a cue more people wanted to take it up, because this

:40:09.:40:12.

could be you one day, representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games,

:40:13.:40:17.

the World Championships every year, the European Championships, and it

:40:18.:40:27.

is a sport which is facility dependent, to some extent, and there

:40:28.:40:32.

are not so many facilities in England, plenty in Scotland, maybe

:40:33.:40:35.

we will see more in the coming years of. Yes, let's hope we have some

:40:36.:40:42.

more in England, Wales and Ireland. We have 22 in Scotland. With the

:40:43.:40:49.

interest that we draw every four years, at the Olympics, we just have

:40:50.:40:58.

to continue that through. Our curling website has been very well

:40:59.:41:02.

looked at, people have been on the website. All of the dates are almost

:41:03.:41:08.

fully booked, I would not be surprised if some of the ice rinks

:41:09.:41:12.

are opening on other dates and times. Do not let this put you off,

:41:13.:41:20.

this has just been a difficult game for our boys, but we have seen some

:41:21.:41:28.

wonderful curling this whole week. Our friends dressed as Elvis have

:41:29.:41:33.

come into the building, a bit late. They might agree, this British team

:41:34.:41:39.

have been all Shook up. That is my last one! Your jokes are so bad! I

:41:40.:41:48.

thought Jonathan's was bad, frozen under the pressure. Let's talk about

:41:49.:41:56.

the Canadian team. We could be having a handshake at the end of

:41:57.:42:03.

this end. They have been called trash, arrogant at times. -- brash.

:42:04.:42:13.

But you could not argue about their progress on the ice. They might not

:42:14.:42:19.

be as popular as the women, but they have proved exciting. They have not

:42:20.:42:26.

been pushed here at all, but they came out with all guns firing.

:42:27.:42:30.

Britain did not match them in the early ends, they allowed them to

:42:31.:42:34.

dominate early, and therefore dictate matters. Brad Jacobs and his

:42:35.:42:44.

team, do not forget the two brothers, his cousins, Ryan Fry, who

:42:45.:42:50.

they have put in to create this team, it took awhile to get to grips

:42:51.:43:01.

with the concept the Olympic Games. We might see some fist pumping at

:43:02.:43:05.

the end, they will be full of jubilation, and so they should be,

:43:06.:43:09.

there is a lot of expectation for them back home. A silver or a bronze

:43:10.:43:14.

would have been seen as failure. That is a lot of pressure to live

:43:15.:43:18.

with and to deliver the gold medal again. They did not go through

:43:19.:43:28.

unbeaten, but they have got stronger as the competition has gone on. Greg

:43:29.:43:36.

Drummond has been excellent right throughout this, he can hold his

:43:37.:43:40.

head high. Even here in this final, but it has been so difficult for

:43:41.:43:46.

Britain. Michael Goodfellow has been 92%, Greg Drummond, 87%. Whenever he

:43:47.:43:52.

has been asked to deliver, most of the time he has done a fantastic job

:43:53.:44:01.

for his skip. He will have learned an awful lot from this, whether or

:44:02.:44:06.

not David Murdoch is back in future years, who knows, but Greg

:44:07.:44:13.

Drummond, Scott Andrews, Michael Goodfellow will have picked up so

:44:14.:44:19.

much experience. Good and bad. You can learn from defeats like this

:44:20.:44:22.

just as much as you can learn from great victories. The boys don't have

:44:23.:44:34.

the opportunity to go and head out to the World Championships this

:44:35.:44:39.

year, unfortunately. That contest was played just last week there, at

:44:40.:44:49.

home in Scotland. There'll be a lot to make decisions on. Whether the

:44:50.:44:57.

young lads match back up with Tom Brewster. I think everything there

:44:58.:45:02.

depend on selection for if they decide to go for another Olympic

:45:03.:45:06.

Games. That's all going to be down to the national coach. He'll have to

:45:07.:45:12.

make an offer for you to come and play I think for your country.

:45:13.:45:17.

Talking about the coach. They've called for time out and the coach

:45:18.:45:22.

will come down. Interesting to hear what he has to say. They are trying

:45:23.:45:29.

to make this end work, trying to keep thicks -- things going. Trying

:45:30.:45:36.

to get it to the last two ends. At some point they have to make a

:45:37.:45:40.

move on it. The minute they make a move on it, these guys are just

:45:41.:45:42.

going to blast them. Eus try and hear what Soren Gran has

:45:43.:46:06.

to say. ALL SPEAK AT ONCE

:46:07.:46:29.

I think that line is more important. Ment, exactly.

:46:30.:46:34.

Anybody who's listened to this and doesn't really understand the game,

:46:35.:46:36.

they've talked about the five and the two. All the stones are numbered

:46:37.:46:40.

one to eight, so they are talking about which stone they are speaking

:46:41.:46:44.

about, whether it will move. But they are wanting to corner freeze

:46:45.:46:49.

that top yellow. Just move them ever so slightly. And the yellow that we

:46:50.:46:55.

see, one foot could actually move to it freeze on top of the red.

:46:56.:47:05.

I don't think he's that concerned. No. But we have to keep trying.

:47:06.:47:14.

Sometimes little errors can creep in.

:47:15.:47:20.

The guys have swept this really well. Just looking to come and sit

:47:21.:47:26.

right on top of their own yellow. It's not going to be far away. A

:47:27.:47:36.

little tap. Not a bad shot at all. Just these shots would have been

:47:37.:47:40.

great to lead earlier on. They were missing, but not by much. Even if

:47:41.:47:45.

they'd kept Canada to just a two or three shot lead, it would go back to

:47:46.:47:56.

the third where they got that three at the half way point.

:47:57.:48:03.

Just watch catching the guard on the way through, remember. Just these

:48:04.:48:08.

little errors. Since then, there have been one or two serious ones.

:48:09.:48:13.

Even that last end where Dave Murdoch failed to hit and just sit

:48:14.:48:15.

for his two. Depending on how themmings fall

:48:16.:48:26.

here, we may be coming to the last couple of stones -- things fall

:48:27.:48:33.

here. Or if Britain were to somehow pick up a couple, who knows, might

:48:34.:48:37.

just carry on. Look at that! What do you know! What

:48:38.:48:53.

do you know? ! When you're good, you're very good, when you're hot,

:48:54.:48:58.

you're very hot. When it's not your day, you can only hang your head and

:48:59.:49:05.

accept your fate. He wasn't far away from moving all of these yellows.

:49:06.:49:11.

But that's all he wanted to do was move them. He does after all have

:49:12.:49:13.

the hammer here. Got 'em all. I think we are blowing

:49:14.:49:30.

on the embers of a fire that's sadly died out here for David Murdoch and

:49:31.:49:39.

his team. It's been a great campaign during these Olympic Games and,

:49:40.:49:44.

while they fought hard in this final to try and resurrect something to

:49:45.:49:50.

get something going, it's been an uphill struggle.

:49:51.:50:11.

Quite happy to have a huge gap in the scoreline there. They are happy

:50:12.:50:17.

just to take the one. Often you will see teams not happy to take ones but

:50:18.:50:21.

they are so far ahead now, so close to finishing this game, they are

:50:22.:50:27.

just going to take it. Sir Brad Jacobs sending down what could be

:50:28.:50:30.

the last stone here. If he takes this one, interesting to see what

:50:31.:50:34.

David Murdoch does. They'll be 9-3 ahead. He needs to sit here, and he

:50:35.:50:42.

does. Canada lead 9-3. There's a discussion going on with the British

:50:43.:50:48.

team. And that's it. They are going to go and finish this. This is game

:50:49.:50:55.

over. Hard lines. Enough is enough. Brad Jacobs and his team are the

:50:56.:51:02.

gold medallists. A disappointing final in all respects and the

:51:03.:51:16.

Canadians have delivered. It's been a sad final for Dave Murdoch and his

:51:17.:51:21.

team, but they'll reflect, I'm sure, in the coming hours on a silver

:51:22.:51:26.

medal which was thoroughly deserved. They didn't bring their best game to

:51:27.:51:32.

the final, unfortunately. It was a step too far. Against a Canada team

:51:33.:51:36.

that was never going to let them back into the match once they got

:51:37.:51:41.

off to a good start. They really had to come and take the

:51:42.:51:46.

game early on. Too many mistakes today. Too many errors. Too many big

:51:47.:51:51.

shots for the skip to have to make to try to rescue the team. He tried

:51:52.:52:01.

really hard early on to do that. As full of admiration we are for the

:52:02.:52:06.

Canadian team, the bronze for the women and the silver for the men,

:52:07.:52:10.

particularly the silver, given all the controversy over selection over

:52:11.:52:14.

the last 12 months, Tom Brewster, of course, the alternate, he brought

:52:15.:52:19.

together and Dave Murdoch was brought in, and getting through to

:52:20.:52:26.

the medal matches, two big wins over Norway, a big win over Sweden, a

:52:27.:52:30.

silver medal. Still a massive achievement. Yes. Let's not forget,

:52:31.:52:36.

this isn't the game that we wanted or the finish we were looking for,

:52:37.:52:40.

but a silver medal, if they'd been offered that on a plate before this

:52:41.:52:44.

competition started, they would have taken it. It's a fantastic medal.

:52:45.:52:51.

Disappointing at the minute. It will give them some comfort at some

:52:52.:52:55.

point. They really were up against it today. This was the Canadian team

:52:56.:53:05.

that were not going to be giving in. I am delighted that we have got a

:53:06.:53:09.

silver and a bronze and we have raised the profile of our sport.

:53:10.:53:15.

It's just wonderful. On wards and upwards is what I say. Canada were

:53:16.:53:21.

always the favourites to win the gold and congratulations to them.

:53:22.:53:25.

They played very well in the second half of the round Robin and in the

:53:26.:53:30.

medal matches particularly today. A silver for Great Britain, the final

:53:31.:53:36.

score, 9-3. Canada are the Olympic champions.

:53:37.:53:40.

Three titles in a row for them. They were the favourites. That

:53:41.:53:50.

performance by Dave Murdoch, still representative of what they have

:53:51.:53:53.

done in the tournament? Yes, you you know what, they put a good run in

:53:54.:53:57.

towards the final there and it will be a tough one to take. They were

:53:58.:54:01.

just the second best team there today unfortunately, the Canadians

:54:02.:54:04.

came out strong and really were fighting from the first game, as we

:54:05.:54:09.

said earlier. You know what, it's still silver. They are going to feel

:54:10.:54:14.

it losing that last game but it's still fantastic, a silver medal.

:54:15.:54:19.

This is the irony, you won a bronze yesterday. Makes me feel a lot

:54:20.:54:25.

better. I guess tomorrow, the medals will be handed out, but you will get

:54:26.:54:32.

your medals at the same time and I'm sure by then they'll reflect on

:54:33.:54:36.

what's been an amazing tournament? Definitely. I think tomorrow night,

:54:37.:54:40.

it will finally sink in when we get that medal round the necks. For the

:54:41.:54:45.

guys as well, I know it will be a tough next few hours for them, they

:54:46.:54:48.

are going to have to go through a lot of the media, probably doping

:54:49.:54:52.

control, but, you know what, hopefully they can realise what they

:54:53.:54:55.

have done. They have done themselves proud to get to the position they

:54:56.:54:59.

are in. First Olympic Games for three of them. Dave, he'll be

:55:00.:55:03.

disappointed just from the last hurdle, as he's won a lot of major

:55:04.:55:08.

Championships in the past, but they are going to have to pick themselves

:55:09.:55:17.

up. Still fantastic. Tough wording in commentary, it was said that it

:55:18.:55:20.

was getting embarrassing. Do you think Dave and the guys will feel

:55:21.:55:23.

embarrassed in the way they performed today? I guess maybe a

:55:24.:55:29.

small bit. During the week, they had a roller coaster. They have had a

:55:30.:55:32.

few wins that could have gone the other way. You know, I wouldn't say

:55:33.:55:38.

such an embarrassment. I think they've still done everyone at home

:55:39.:55:43.

very proud. The Canadians looked like they wanted it more. Even half

:55:44.:55:46.

way through the game, these guys were pumped for that game. We know

:55:47.:55:51.

how strong they are. Similar with the ladies' game. Jones unbeaten

:55:52.:55:54.

through the whole tournament. These guys are strong and practice hard. I

:55:55.:56:02.

just wish some would retire soon! We talked act the Canadians wanting it

:56:03.:56:08.

more. In contrast to you, Dave came here I think to win an Olympic

:56:09.:56:11.

medal. He'd achieved that. It was like his final was against the

:56:12.:56:17.

Swedes and they just didn't have the intensity when it came to today.

:56:18.:56:22.

Yes. When you go into major tournaments, you always think, all I

:56:23.:56:26.

want is that Olympic medal. But believe you me, you will know as

:56:27.:56:29.

well, when you get to the final stages and you are in the final, you

:56:30.:56:33.

don't want anything but the gold, do you? I know I've had that feeling

:56:34.:56:37.

before, you get to the final and at the start of the weak you think,

:56:38.:56:40.

silver would be fine, but when you are in that position, when you have

:56:41.:56:44.

a chance to win the gold, you don't want anything but the gold, so it

:56:45.:56:47.

will take probably a few days to sink in, but at the end of the day,

:56:48.:56:50.

they are going to get a silver Olympic medal around their necks. A

:56:51.:56:56.

really successful Team GB this year and hopefully tonight we can

:56:57.:57:03.

continue that in the speed skating. If Christie was to win a medal, that

:57:04.:57:07.

would be a fine performance by the British team. Dave Murdoch is a

:57:08.:57:11.

veteran of three Olympics. The likes of Scott Andrews, he struggled

:57:12.:57:14.

earlier on. Perhaps it will take long tore get over this experience?

:57:15.:57:20.

Yes. That's it. These guys are still young. I wouldn't want to say

:57:21.:57:24.

inexperienced because they have a couple of world silvers under their

:57:25.:57:29.

belts and they train day in day out. But this won't do them any harm at

:57:30.:57:35.

all. They'll come back. We didn't come away with a medal at Vancouver,

:57:36.:57:41.

but I learned so much from that. The guys will bag up the experience and

:57:42.:57:44.

they'll be giving 2018 a shot. All you can do when it comes to that is

:57:45.:57:48.

bag up the experience from here and take that on to to future

:57:49.:57:52.

Championships. In terms of your career and the girls that you are

:57:53.:57:56.

curling with, how much longer, I mean you are very young, the

:57:57.:58:00.

youngest Olympic medallist, I mean, do you look beyond 2022? What is

:58:01.:58:08.

your plan going forward? Zbla you know what, for a young team we are

:58:09.:58:13.

not finished yet. We have a long future ahead of us I think. I want

:58:14.:58:16.

to say this, this Olympics is a stepping stone in our career and

:58:17.:58:19.

hopefully the first of many great things to come. When we got together

:58:20.:58:25.

a few years ago, we'd won European Championships, the World

:58:26.:58:28.

Championships and now an Olympic medal. As I say, we are not finished

:58:29.:58:32.

yet. We have a long future ahead of us, I would like to think. We are

:58:33.:58:36.

going to go in for the next Olympics I would hope. But who know, I'll be

:58:37.:58:41.

getting a bit old after that. How old would you be, 27? Yes. That

:58:42.:58:47.

sounds young to me! What do you think you have learned through the

:58:48.:58:49.

tournament, individually and as a team? You come in with the

:58:50.:58:53.

expectations of gold, having to reseat your sights when you lost the

:58:54.:58:57.

semi-final match. What would you take out of this, apart from the

:58:58.:59:02.

bronze? I've learned a tonne from this Championships and probably the

:59:03.:59:06.

most I've learned is bouncing back from the semi-final loss. I didn'the

:59:07.:59:10.

know what I was going to do, to be honest. After the game, you could

:59:11.:59:14.

see all of us were devastated. We came here as world champions, so we

:59:15.:59:18.

knew we had a chance for the gold and put ourselves in a position to

:59:19.:59:22.

get it. When your dreams are shattered with the one game, it's

:59:23.:59:31.

tough. We need to thank our coaches, Dave was fantastic with us, he

:59:32.:59:35.

managed to lift us the next morning and for us to come back and win that

:59:36.:59:39.

bronze medal game, showed a lot of guts and determination, I would like

:59:40.:59:44.

to think. That's where we learnt the most. Athletes have to learn to lose

:59:45.:59:48.

before they win and I'm so proud of the girls as well. What a fantastic

:59:49.:59:52.

Olympic Games for them. It's been their first games, they showed a lot

:59:53.:59:57.

of great will power. You have given us some amazing

:59:58.:00:01.

moments. Let's look back at what has been an amazing curling tournament

:00:02.:00:05.

for the British men and the British women.

:00:06.:00:11.

David Murdoch and this British team MUSIC

:00:12.:00:47.

A gold model for the Canadians, but a silver for David Murdoch.

:00:48.:01:53.

I know this was not your day, but congratulations on the silver, tell

:01:54.:01:57.

me about that game. We never got off to a good start, we have to focus on

:01:58.:02:04.

the start, they came at us hard. We did not get the jewels in the right

:02:05.:02:09.

place. We had a chance of a too, we got caught out, and we were

:02:10.:02:16.

struggling on free. When you are 5-1 down, you are not going to come

:02:17.:02:20.

back. How proud are you of the silver medal? It is something I will

:02:21.:02:27.

think about in a minute. We are just thinking about not getting the gold

:02:28.:02:31.

at the moment, but a silver medal is scarily cool! A lot of hard work,

:02:32.:02:40.

congratulations. Obviously, disappointed, but at

:02:41.:02:44.

least he is smiling. Thank you for your company, enjoyed your medal

:02:45.:02:51.

ceremony tomorrow. Let's go into the flower ceremony, Steve Cram and

:02:52.:02:56.

Jackie Lockhart standing by. You will not get medals, but you deserve

:02:57.:02:59.

something for your sterling work over the last two weeks!

:03:00.:03:03.

We have enjoyed every minute. It has been great that we have ended with

:03:04.:03:12.

two medals for Great Britain. We have done 27 matches in total, most

:03:13.:03:19.

of them, I am pleased to say, have been involving British interest,

:03:20.:03:23.

about 24 of them. Although today was not the best, it was not the result

:03:24.:03:30.

that was disappointing, it was always going to be tough to beat

:03:31.:03:34.

Canada, the manner of the defeat will not be remembered, I hope, and

:03:35.:03:39.

what they will take away is the fact that they are Olympics all the

:03:40.:03:45.

medallists, and they played very well during the competition, and

:03:46.:03:49.

they have something very tangible to show for it, of which I am sure they

:03:50.:03:54.

will be proud in the future. I have thoroughly enjoyed commentating on

:03:55.:04:03.

this Olympic Games here. We have had some thrilling events to watch, some

:04:04.:04:08.

fantastic shots. Unfortunately, it was not the game we were hoping to

:04:09.:04:14.

be commentating on, we were hoping to be commentating on a winning

:04:15.:04:20.

team, but I am so proud of what Team GB have done at this Olympic Games.

:04:21.:04:26.

We have a silver and bronze medal. All the work and effort and

:04:27.:04:29.

determination that has been put in has shone through. They have had us

:04:30.:04:37.

on the edges of our seats, sometimes questioning what they are doing. I

:04:38.:04:42.

would have to say, Steve Cram is learning more every time he comes

:04:43.:04:49.

here. It has been a pleasure. I have worked it all out now! I just need

:04:50.:04:55.

to get you on the ice now, see if you are any good on the game. Not

:04:56.:05:01.

talking about it! Like most things in life, I am better at talking

:05:02.:05:06.

about it than doing it! The Sweden team, I am so pleased for them, many

:05:07.:05:11.

able will be, Niklas Edin, the bronze medal. Not what they wanted,

:05:12.:05:21.

but they could have finished in fourth place a game, which happened

:05:22.:05:28.

four years ago. Viktor Kjaell. He played lead. Sebastian Kraupp, the

:05:29.:05:44.

vice skip. And their flamboyant at times leader, Niklas Edin. He led

:05:45.:05:50.

the team well. It was a gut-wrenching defeat to Britain in

:05:51.:05:55.

the semifinals, but they bounced back to win the bronze medal in an

:05:56.:05:59.

extra end against China. They had a real battle this morning, they

:06:00.:06:06.

fought all the way. They played some wonderful shots. There they go, the

:06:07.:06:15.

GB boys. Let's applaud them, they deserve all of the adulation they

:06:16.:06:19.

are going to get from the supporters here. They will enjoy their medal

:06:20.:06:25.

ceremony tomorrow. Tom Brewster helped put the team together. He

:06:26.:06:30.

gets a medal as well, he deserves a lot of credit for the role he has

:06:31.:06:35.

played in helping these guys develop into Olympic silver medallists.

:06:36.:06:40.

Michael Goodfellow, not from a curling background, you do not have

:06:41.:06:43.

to have a family of colours. Scott Andrews comes from a curling

:06:44.:06:48.

background, they will be delighted in Prestwick. From Forfar, Greg

:06:49.:06:55.

Drummond, his parents are here, they will be so proud, he has been

:06:56.:06:58.

excellent all the way through. Third time lucky, but it was not luck, it

:06:59.:07:05.

was about endeavour, shotmaking and nerve when it counted most, the

:07:06.:07:11.

match against Norway, the last shot, and against Sweden, the skip, David

:07:12.:07:18.

Murdoch. So proud, I am sure, of his team. We did question whether the

:07:19.:07:28.

Canadian team were going to be performing to the level they had

:07:29.:07:33.

been at their Olympic trials, they started shakily, but they have

:07:34.:07:41.

finished the competition on a high. They will be bluffing their gold

:07:42.:07:44.

medal tomorrow, didn't get a good polish. They will be fated back home

:07:45.:07:51.

in Canada, they take the gold medal in the men's curling. Caleb Flaxey,

:07:52.:08:01.

the alternate, and the brothers, Ryan Harnden and EJ Harnden. Ryan

:08:02.:08:07.

Fry joined the team about 18 months ago. Then, the skip, the cousin of

:08:08.:08:18.

the brothers, Brad Jacobs. They talk a good game, but goodness me, they

:08:19.:08:25.

played a good game as well. If you come with that sort of attitude and

:08:26.:08:31.

intensity, not always to everybody's liking, but they stood

:08:32.:08:41.

up strong. Canada, Great Britain and Sweden, the gold, silver and bronze

:08:42.:08:49.

medallists in the men's curling. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 11

:08:50.:08:53.

days or so. It has been absorbing sport, and when you can see the

:08:54.:08:59.

twists and turns in front of you, the emotion, the pressure is etched

:09:00.:09:05.

on their faces, you have heard the discussions, the confidence

:09:06.:09:09.

building, you have heard it seeping away sometimes, it has been an

:09:10.:09:15.

enthralling ride, and I hope you have enjoyed our coverage of the

:09:16.:09:19.

curling. From Jackie Lockhart and me, that is it, we look forward to

:09:20.:09:22.

seeing these guys get the medal tomorrow night in the medal Plaza.

:09:23.:09:28.

Yes, thank you very much, good night from me, and it is good night from

:09:29.:09:30.

him. As somebody once said! They are great images, as they were

:09:31.:09:44.

saying, the medal ceremony is tomorrow evening. The silver medal

:09:45.:09:47.

is official, so Britain has for medals.

:09:48.:09:51.

Our equal best ever performance, in 1924, that was the last time we got

:09:52.:10:00.

for medals, and a fifth medal could come this evening through Elise

:10:01.:10:01.

Christie. Let's look back to one of the

:10:02.:10:09.

moments of the Winter Olympics, yesterday evening, I was lying on my

:10:10.:10:13.

bed, I was watching this match, I thought, this is all over bar the

:10:14.:10:16.

shouting, but how wrong I was. She scores! The Americans draw first

:10:17.:10:40.

blood. A snapper from the captain, who leads by example. She goes top

:10:41.:10:46.

shelf. A loose play from the Canadians and out of the American

:10:47.:10:50.

attack to come in. She was digging deep, and Captain America opens up

:10:51.:10:56.

the scoring in the gold-medal match. Look at that, high, into the goal.

:10:57.:11:03.

It is a thing of beauty, as you see the American bench, they know how

:11:04.:11:05.

much it means. Just wide. Carpenter scores! The red

:11:06.:11:29.

light is on. Is this going to be the golden goal? This is the great

:11:30.:11:36.

movement up to the boards, and right across. Some great handiwork.

:11:37.:11:49.

Measured twice, cut once. Carpenter cuts the Canadian hopes into shreds

:11:50.:11:55.

with this goal. Canada running out of time. They are also running out

:11:56.:12:03.

of ideas. It is a goal! Out of absolutely nothing! The Canadians

:12:04.:12:10.

score, and now we will have a Grand Slam finish. They are so closely

:12:11.:12:18.

matched, and now there is just one goal between them. The Canadians

:12:19.:12:22.

have a tiny bit of belief they can come back. Hard work makes this

:12:23.:12:27.

goal, and a bit of luck goes a long way. She creates her own good

:12:28.:12:36.

fortune. If this is touched, redirected, I am not sure, but it

:12:37.:12:41.

came off Rhiannon Jenner. She had a burst of speed. She will get credit

:12:42.:12:51.

for it. They have looked so unlikely all day. This could seal it. Off the

:12:52.:12:56.

post! So close! Denied! Was that the chance, I

:12:57.:13:13.

wonder? You suspect the Canadians were always going to have one. They

:13:14.:13:20.

have scored! The Canadians have levelled it! 54 seconds to go! Are

:13:21.:13:29.

you kidding me! The Americans cannot believe what has happened. Now, the

:13:30.:13:36.

Maple Leafs believe. 2-0 down, they were dead and buried. In three and a

:13:37.:13:47.

half minutes, they have come back. She has stuck her name into

:13:48.:13:52.

folklore. This is something else. Hold onto your seats, because we

:13:53.:13:59.

have a minute left. We are level. We may as well book for bed and

:14:00.:14:05.

breakfast, over time all over again. 20 minutes, sudden death.

:14:06.:14:19.

A goal! A golden goal! She wins the gold-medal! She took it to overtime,

:14:20.:14:39.

and now she wins it! Canada finish on top again, and the Americans have

:14:40.:14:46.

disabled the silver. An amazing game. Finished by an amazing player.

:14:47.:15:00.

They did it in 2002, 2006 and 2010. The Canadians will finish on top of

:15:01.:15:09.

the podium here. A deep sigh of relief. A stunning,

:15:10.:15:26.

stunning comeback. The Americans will feel hard done

:15:27.:15:32.

so. Of course, they will. But the tears of joy come from the that

:15:33.:15:47.

ayedians -- Canadians. Marie Philippe-Pollin does it again. The

:15:48.:15:55.

build-up is there. The one touch there that, was Rebecca Johnson that

:15:56.:16:05.

led up to that. That is the reason. You see that coming from Marie

:16:06.:16:14.

Philippe PPoulin and the eruption from the Canadian bench. It's a

:16:15.:16:19.

rocky mountain high for Canada again as they are gold medallists at the

:16:20.:16:24.

Olympic Games. Once again, they may not have been the best team in the

:16:25.:16:28.

tournament, but they finish with the winning record. That record of 16

:16:29.:16:34.

years since their last defeat will stretch to 20.

:16:35.:16:40.

Wow. I'm so gutted that I turned the television off. What an amazing

:16:41.:16:44.

match that was and what a comeback from the Canadians. That will hurt

:16:45.:16:48.

the Americans for a long, long time to come. Today was the turn of the

:16:49.:16:51.

men. A dramatic tournament so far, unless of course you are Russian.

:16:52.:17:00.

This is where the fate of the Russian team will be decided.

:17:01.:17:03.

Wonderful finish. Score! Back on level terms.

:17:04.:17:18.

Absolutely incredible. Wonderful finish. Into the top corner.

:17:19.:17:28.

Silences the crowd. Scores. Canada has advanced to the semi-final.

:17:29.:17:37.

Sweden will move on to their semi-finalists, Canada will play

:17:38.:17:40.

America. It's semi-final line-up today.

:17:41.:17:52.

Sweden up against Finland, the conquerors of Russia, and then wow,

:17:53.:17:56.

what a match that is going to be, the United States v Canada,

:17:57.:18:01.

especially after what happened last night in the women's final. We saw

:18:02.:18:05.

Sweden v Finland earlier. We can catch up with the rest of that match

:18:06.:18:11.

with Steph and Brent now. A very, very tight game.

:18:12.:18:13.

Battling hard on the boards. There is a break here. Good save.

:18:14.:18:41.

The two net miners have started well here. Here is a great opportunity.

:18:42.:18:54.

It's a hard working game between these two sides.

:18:55.:19:02.

Opens all the way up. Maybe clipped the post as that one went by from

:19:03.:19:10.

the man who opened up the Russia game. Back to the blue line.

:19:11.:19:21.

That was a great chance. Aaltonen. Happens that quick, we'll watch it

:19:22.:19:33.

again. I watched the Canadians practise this morning. Goodness me,

:19:34.:19:44.

did they ever look good! And Lundqvist is there. The referee

:19:45.:19:49.

reckons the whistle went before it crossed the line and technology is

:19:50.:19:57.

needed. Watch this play develop. And this is one that's got to count.

:19:58.:20:13.

Let's listen. For me, that is 100% conclusive. It has to be a goal.

:20:14.:20:18.

Let's see. Finland take the lead and Finland are on the board first.

:20:19.:20:29.

Jokerit gets the chequered flag. And he gets the sham wane treat.

:20:30.:20:40.

Sweden with a real chance. Side of the net. What a goal! That is a

:20:41.:20:48.

thing of beauty. Fired in at the side of the net by

:20:49.:20:59.

Eriksson. His second of the Games. Just a third over and the Swedes

:21:00.:21:11.

pick it up. Eriksson, Jerry down to Loui. Level at one.

:21:12.:21:22.

Opens up. Scores! A bolt from the blue from Eriksson. And just when

:21:23.:21:37.

you think Karlsson's gone quiet, he strikes and Sweden have the lead.let

:21:38.:21:46.

Finds his way again. Blows that past the block blocker.

:21:47.:21:59.

Raised high up towards the roof. Lost for a moment. Eriksson of

:22:00.:22:26.

Sweden. They are going to the final again! They maintain their perfect

:22:27.:22:35.

record in Olympic semis. Finland beaten, Sweden stingy, Sweden

:22:36.:22:43.

strong, Sweden go through. So, Sweden through to the final.

:22:44.:22:48.

We'll find out who they play when the USA play Canada tonight at 5 pm.

:22:49.:22:54.

Steam Cram caught up with Dave Murdoch and the boys post that

:22:55.:22:59.

defeat in the match. First of all, reaction to the match.

:23:00.:23:04.

You will be disappointed. You are silver medallists but reflect on the

:23:05.:23:08.

game first? It's hugely disappointing, it was the

:23:09.:23:10.

opportunity of a lifetime and unfortunately, we didn't grasp it,

:23:11.:23:14.

we got off to a bad start and against a team like that, you can't

:23:15.:23:18.

afford to do that. There were a few mistakes that gave them the front

:23:19.:23:24.

foot. It was always going to be an uphill struggle. Yes, we just have

:23:25.:23:28.

to take that. That's what can happen.

:23:29.:23:32.

Can you put your finger on anything Greg out there that didn't happen

:23:33.:23:35.

for you? It's hard to say, to be honest. The conditions were slightly

:23:36.:23:39.

different than what we probably expected, but we can't use that as

:23:40.:23:43.

an excuse. We are professional athletes and have to be able to deal

:23:44.:23:49.

with things like that. But Ke just didn't put enough shots together.

:23:50.:23:53.

The Canadian guys always have the lead.

:23:54.:23:57.

Dave's just said it, they are a good team and I suppose they reached a

:23:58.:24:01.

point and you reached a point where you were hoping they would make a

:24:02.:24:07.

mistake? Yes, but we didn't make enough shots and we weren't the

:24:08.:24:11.

better team, so all credit to the guys, they all came out and shot

:24:12.:24:15.

really well. Not to be today. Let's forget that then, Mike, we'll start

:24:16.:24:19.

on the positives, you came here obviously not necessarily as

:24:20.:24:23.

everyone's tip to win a medal. You guys probably thought you could, but

:24:24.:24:26.

just reflect on the competition and the fact that you are an Olympic

:24:27.:24:31.

silver medallist? Yes. It feels pretty incredible. We have had an up

:24:32.:24:35.

and down week, some really good games and struggled sometimes as

:24:36.:24:38.

well, but we've fought hard and played really well when it mattered

:24:39.:24:42.

and came which way with a silver which we are all really chuffed

:24:43.:24:48.

with. For you three, this was your first Olympic experience and to come

:24:49.:24:52.

away with a silver must give you a bit of a taste for what might come

:24:53.:24:57.

in the future? For sure. Obviously Dave's been at two games before and

:24:58.:25:03.

we pitch up and get to the final the first time. We have been together

:25:04.:25:08.

for a few years now and we've got a lot of experience now. A couple of

:25:09.:25:12.

world final medals and stuff like that. So yes, great for the future.

:25:13.:25:18.

It's bright for our team. Greg, you look complete completely sured out

:25:19.:25:23.

there. You all did and must have perhaps dreamt of an Olympic medal.

:25:24.:25:27.

When the competition started, did you think you would do it? We came

:25:28.:25:36.

here thinking we could do it. We did put some world class games

:25:37.:25:40.

together and, else splishl towards the end of the week we had some high

:25:41.:25:44.

pressure games that we came out on the right side of. Unfortunately

:25:45.:25:51.

today, it wasn't to be. Dave, reflect on what this means for

:25:52.:25:58.

these three? It's been an incredible team effort. A lot of hard work and

:25:59.:26:06.

training. It was the most incredible thing.

:26:07.:26:13.

It's been a kick in the teeth but I'm proud of these guys.

:26:14.:26:17.

What about you? Obviously this is your third Olympic Games, you have

:26:18.:26:20.

finally got that medal, it's probably Early to start thinking

:26:21.:26:23.

about the future, I can see how much it means to you, but this is a

:26:24.:26:27.

special time for you? Yes, it is. And for your families as well, they

:26:28.:26:32.

have been out here supporting you? Yes, the support's been great for

:26:33.:26:36.

the friends and family and the guys back home, the whole nation's been

:26:37.:26:39.

talking about curling so we should take this opportunity to the thank

:26:40.:26:47.

the nation for getting behind us. Medal ceremony tomorrow night. Easy

:26:48.:26:51.

know you are going to enjoy that. Well done guys, silver medallists.

:26:52.:26:58.

Congratulations. They've won a silver and feel

:26:59.:27:03.

depressed, but I'm sure confirm tomorrow they'll feel much better

:27:04.:27:07.

for what's been a brilliant tournament for them. Today though,

:27:08.:27:11.

that's not the end of the medal possibilities for Team GB. Later on,

:27:12.:27:16.

Christie goes in her favourite event, the 1,000 metres. It would be

:27:17.:27:21.

an incredible story if she won a medal after what's been a traumatic

:27:22.:27:25.

Winter Olympics. We are all waiting to see whether

:27:26.:27:29.

she can become the First Lady skater in the history of this event to make

:27:30.:27:35.

it into the medal contest. There's a faller. They have gone

:27:36.:27:38.

down already. This is history in the making.

:27:39.:27:47.

That's good enough. Christie is into the final.

:27:48.:28:05.

Christie crossed the line second in the 500 metres final. She was one of

:28:06.:28:13.

three to crash on the first lap. The Chinese Li Jan took gold as Christie

:28:14.:28:20.

got back into the race. On review, that's what they were looking at.

:28:21.:28:24.

She was found be at fault for the crash, she cut the corner and

:28:25.:28:33.

Christie was disqualified. I got hit unfortunately, that meant I hit

:28:34.:28:41.

everyone else. It's a 50/50 call and the referee made his decision. ? My

:28:42.:28:45.

opinion, it would have been different but everyone has got to

:28:46.:28:48.

have an opinion. That's the way short track is, unfortunately.

:28:49.:28:55.

Lovely move by Elise Christie. Moves into third place. Goes down the

:28:56.:29:01.

inside again and nips into second place. This is majestic stuff by the

:29:02.:29:04.

Scot. Christie has been left devastated by

:29:05.:29:11.

a second disqualmification. Straight after the race, she was

:29:12.:29:25.

baffled and frustrated. Do you have any idea why that

:29:26.:29:28.

happened... Can't believe it. Not a penalty

:29:29.:29:34.

she's been given. She's been awarded a "did not finish". She crosses the

:29:35.:29:41.

line marginally inside the track. Today I have no idea what is going

:29:42.:29:47.

on. I'm finding it hard. I've had quite a lot of abuse over the

:29:48.:29:50.

Internet and stuff I've had to deal with. It's been tough. I'm finding

:29:51.:29:56.

it quite hard. Stuff on the Internet. What do you mean? I've had

:29:57.:30:01.

a few people threatening me and stuff like that, just silly cyber

:30:02.:30:07.

bullying basically. It's kind of what's happened and I've got no

:30:08.:30:08.

control over it unfortunately. Elise Christie is on the track

:30:09.:30:17.

tonight in the quarter finals, semifinals and hopefully the final

:30:18.:30:26.

in her favourite event the 1,000 m. While Canada was winning a Gold

:30:27.:30:32.

Medal here in the Ice Cube, at the biathlon centre another medal was

:30:33.:30:35.

decided. We join it in the closing stages.

:30:36.:30:44.

Down it goes to slam the door shut on the chasers for now. The

:30:45.:30:51.

Canadians have put in an unbelievable race.

:30:52.:31:02.

The Russians go five outive foo. Norway are -- five out of five.

:31:03.:31:06.

Norway are five out of five. What a shame, she will have to do the same

:31:07.:31:10.

on the track as she did on the first two kilometre loop. That makes it a

:31:11.:31:17.

risky occasion for the final shoot. They've closed the gap. The lead is

:31:18.:31:23.

now 17 seconds. Russia in second place. Berger third for Norway.

:31:24.:31:28.

There are anxious moments for the Ukrainians in the stadium. Canada

:31:29.:31:33.

holding onto fourth for now. The Czech Republic are having a bit a

:31:34.:31:39.

wobble after a brilliant start. Two misses already. And the Americans in

:31:40.:31:44.

a position with Cook to go into the top five. No. She throws that last

:31:45.:31:51.

one wide. The Czechs clear to hold onto a slim lead over the Americans.

:31:52.:31:55.

The Italians trying to force a comeback after a brilliant start

:31:56.:32:05.

earlier on in the day. Look how close the top three positions are.

:32:06.:32:11.

The number of times that Berger has closed 40 seconds on The Last Leg of

:32:12.:32:20.

the relay, let -- on the last leg of the relay, let alone 22.

:32:21.:32:35.

She's now Belarus's most decorated winter or summer Olympian and made

:32:36.:32:44.

that look easy. Interestingly, the Norwegian cross-country skiers were

:32:45.:32:49.

saying they hope she doesn't take up cross-country skiing, because she is

:32:50.:32:52.

skiing so fast, she could win some of the cross-country races here. She

:32:53.:32:56.

may have eyes on that in the future. For now, it's all biathlon. With

:32:57.:33:00.

three golds, I think she'll stick with this for a while.

:33:01.:33:13.

Foulkard with two golds and a silver, missing out by just

:33:14.:33:26.

centimetres. Pidhrushna's lead is being eroded. She required that

:33:27.:33:30.

extra round which delayed her exit on the range. The Russians are

:33:31.:33:36.

coming. Pidhrushna's leads for Ukraine. Look how quickly Vilukhina

:33:37.:33:48.

is closing her down. Berger is not far behind either. There were 17

:33:49.:33:52.

seconds at the last checkpoint. Now it's just ten. This is going to get

:33:53.:33:57.

ever so tense in the closing stages. All three of the lead teams could

:33:58.:34:02.

still win this. All three will be on the mat together shooting for the

:34:03.:34:09.

standing starring etc. I expect Berger may be able to do more

:34:10.:34:14.

damage. She is the best shot from last year's statistics. She's the

:34:15.:34:19.

only one who hit over 90% in a standing position. She's generally

:34:20.:34:21.

four or five seconds quicker than anyone else in the standing

:34:22.:34:24.

position. But this season it hasn't been quite going to plan. It remains

:34:25.:34:29.

to be seen what she can do. She's been in this situation so many

:34:30.:34:36.

times. It's Canada's race, the best race they've produced for many

:34:37.:34:40.

years. And a medal would be an astonishing result for can da. It's

:34:41.:34:45.

not out -- Canada. It's not out of the question. The pressure on the

:34:46.:34:47.

lead three is unbelievable. I'm sure one of them is going to have a

:34:48.:34:58.

meltdown. Pidhrushna's will turn the corner very shortly. She will hear

:34:59.:35:04.

the roar of the crowd. She will take some heart from the Ukrainians

:35:05.:35:09.

who've travelled here to support. But the Russians will make a huge

:35:10.:35:14.

amount of noise when they see how much ground Olga Vilukhina has

:35:15.:35:25.

closed down. Moving in front of a packed gallery, the hopes of a

:35:26.:35:33.

nation rest on Pidhrushna's's shoulders. Can she hold her nerve,

:35:34.:35:37.

on the most testing of circumstances? Without doubt, the

:35:38.:35:41.

most important five shots she has undertake be in her -- undertaken in

:35:42.:35:46.

her career. Vilukhina in second place. Berger in third. Who will

:35:47.:35:52.

make a mistake? And who will put their country in prime position for

:35:53.:35:59.

a Gold Medal? Vilukhina has exceed faster than anyone else -- skied

:36:00.:36:03.

faster than anyone else in the leading three. That is a risky

:36:04.:36:06.

tactic. I think she wanted to put the Ukraine under pressure. She'll

:36:07.:36:11.

certainly have done that. Pidhrushna's had a 17-second lead,

:36:12.:36:17.

it is now down to around seven seconds. Berger just easing up

:36:18.:36:20.

before this final shoot. She also has the quickest final lap of the

:36:21.:36:25.

leading three. So Norway are not out of it, despite the fact they're in

:36:26.:36:28.

third. The Ukraine need five out of five to be sure and Russia with

:36:29.:36:35.

Vilukhina still in a very strong position. This is brilliant

:36:36.:36:38.

shooting. Now the nerves, she's are the hardest two. One. The job is

:36:39.:36:45.

half done. And again, superb shooting. Ukraine could be on their

:36:46.:36:49.

way to gold. Russia with one miss are in a little bit of trouble. But

:36:50.:36:53.

they can take 15 seconds out of the Ukraine on the last two kilometres

:36:54.:37:02.

and Berger has to produce an unbelievable ski to challenge. The

:37:03.:37:07.

Ukraine with Pidhrushna's are onto the last 2,000 metres. The margin

:37:08.:37:12.

will be significant, 11 seconds over Russia. It will be around 20 seconds

:37:13.:37:18.

over the Norwegians. Little stumble from Berger as she exits the range.

:37:19.:37:23.

She has some ground to make up. Vilukhina is in second place, 11

:37:24.:37:29.

seconds behind Pidhrushna's. Berger is third. Can she close down 25

:37:30.:37:37.

seconds? The Canadians have had a nightmare there. What a shame. A

:37:38.:37:42.

penalty loop at the end of what, until now, has been a superb

:37:43.:37:46.

performance. That's 300 extra metres. It could be an extra 450

:37:47.:37:51.

metres and the USA are likely to go ahead of Canada if they can hold

:37:52.:37:56.

their nerve. The Italians could get into fourth place. Good shooting.

:37:57.:38:03.

That's very solid at this stage of the race. You have to feel for

:38:04.:38:11.

Cocker. She has two loops, 300 metres, that's 52 seconds, to

:38:12.:38:15.

complete that. The Americans so far are safe. Three rounds to hit two

:38:16.:38:20.

targets. The Italians are coming strongly. Great finish from the

:38:21.:38:23.

Italians after a brilliant start early on. They're now back in the

:38:24.:38:29.

running for a top four. Good finish from USA with Cook. Very good finish

:38:30.:38:35.

from her. She'll have a good race with the Italians over that last 2 K

:38:36.:38:41.

loop. It is alling about the -- all about the leading three. Shortly the

:38:42.:38:47.

pictures will head back out onto the course. Pidhrushna's held her nerve

:38:48.:38:52.

beautifully there, 11 seconds the advantage. Berger has to make up 25

:38:53.:38:59.

if she's going to make it two relay golds for Norway. This is absolutely

:39:00.:39:06.

huge for Elena Pidhrushna's. She is being roared on by the Ukrainian

:39:07.:39:11.

coach. She won't need reminding of the significance of what would be

:39:12.:39:17.

their first medal of any colour. She has another 250 metres before she

:39:18.:39:20.

reaches the summit of the hill. Once there, it's very difficult to close

:39:21.:39:23.

down more than four or five seconds. The Russians if they want to win

:39:24.:39:27.

this one, they have to get it down to around two or three seconds by

:39:28.:39:33.

the summit of the climb. She's gasping. She's working hard. She

:39:34.:39:39.

knows how important this win could be. Vilukhina, is she looking tired?

:39:40.:39:46.

I think she might be. She skied the second loop faster than anyone else.

:39:47.:39:51.

She paid the price by losing five or six seconds and now she's paying a

:39:52.:39:54.

double price because she hasn't got anything left to give on this last

:39:55.:39:58.

lap. Instead of challenging for gold, she will have to defend silver

:39:59.:40:03.

because Torah Berger is notching up the work rate and closing the gap on

:40:04.:40:10.

the Silver Medal. Pidhrushna's is doing a brilliant job. Vilukhina was

:40:11.:40:13.

only 11 seconds behind when they exited the range. Now it's over 20.

:40:14.:40:20.

She just needs to stay on her feet here. All the hard work is done.

:40:21.:40:28.

She's closing in on a moment of huge significance. The Norwegian coaches

:40:29.:40:36.

are trying to roar Tora Berger on to close the gap on Vilukhina. There

:40:37.:40:41.

she comes. Vilukhina has just gone through shot. Tora Berger is now 50

:40:42.:40:48.

metres from the summit where she will descend to the stadium.

:40:49.:40:53.

Vilukhina is still 70 metres clear. The order of the top three should

:40:54.:40:57.

not change, unless someone takes a fall. Olena Pidhrushna's now, just

:40:58.:41:07.

moments away from an epic victory, all four of the you've cranian women

:41:08.:41:12.

have held their nerve brilliantly under the most testing of

:41:13.:41:18.

circumstances. She had to produce it on her last effort in the range and

:41:19.:41:24.

she did so in fine style. The crowd will respond, one more corner. She's

:41:25.:41:33.

getting closer. She's away and clear. And now she can ease up and

:41:34.:41:40.

she can start to think about this great moment. Gradge diat home in --

:41:41.:41:45.

tragedy at home in Kiev, triumph here in the Sochi snow. This has

:41:46.:41:49.

been a quartet, unbeaten by the opposition, unbeaten by the politics

:41:50.:41:54.

and united by passion. In so doing, they have created sporting history.

:41:55.:41:59.

What a timely reminder of the power of sport and what a poignant example

:42:00.:42:05.

of the great principles of -- on which the modern Olympic movement

:42:06.:42:10.

were founded. It is gold for Ukraine! A moment that they can

:42:11.:42:15.

hardly believe would happen. Huge pressure on all four of them and

:42:16.:42:21.

they've delivered in some style. Silver for Russia. The crowd

:42:22.:42:28.

responding once again, they're on the podium. It's an amazing record

:42:29.:42:33.

that keeps on going. Vilukhina absolutely exhausted, but she will

:42:34.:42:38.

get a moment on the podium. As too will Tora Berger, bronze for the

:42:39.:42:41.

Norwegians in the women's relay to go with their mixed relay gold. It

:42:42.:42:46.

has been a good end to this campaign for Berger. She takes a gold, silver

:42:47.:42:52.

and a bronze from these Games. Norwegians -- Norway's golden gold

:42:53.:42:58.

anchoring them home to a place on the podium. What an amazing evening

:42:59.:43:02.

for Ukraine and so richly, richly deserved.

:43:03.:43:08.

Nobody would begrudge Ukraine that Gold Medal.

:43:09.:43:08.

Nobody would begrudge Ukraine that Gold We're done at the curling, a

:43:09.:43:13.

disappointing end perhaps, but that doesn't attract from what's been an

:43:14.:43:15.

amazing couple of weeks for the British curlerlies. Goodbye.
