This is all about style. One big family. With a creative mentality.

:00:46.:00:59.

On a blank canvas, a big playground. Experimenting on jumps and on rails.

:01:00.:01:04.

Bouncing off, to find your own style. It is about expressing

:01:05.:01:10.

yourself. Don't get me wrong, it is competitive as well. You have too

:01:11.:01:16.

dead to go big. -- dare/ Good morning. Put your best foot forward,

:01:17.:01:23.

put your best run down. Stretch yourself to your limit. Make your

:01:24.:01:37.

mark and make it your own. This is only for the most creative athletes

:01:38.:01:50.

on snow. This is slopestyle. Good morning. It is a great date in

:01:51.:01:55.

Sochi. Eight gold medals to be one today. We know weekday mornings are

:01:56.:02:00.

tough when you are trying to get yourself out of the door. But, throw

:02:01.:02:04.

into the mix the Winter Olympics and, with it, the possibility of

:02:05.:02:06.

another British slopestyle medal today. We've just thrown in an extra

:02:07.:02:10.

degree of difficulty in your Tuesday commute!

:02:11.:02:15.

Jenny Jones made the medal breakthrough on a snowboard. Now,

:02:16.:02:18.

18-year-old Katie Summerhayes aims to follow, on skis. This morning,

:02:19.:02:22.

it's another opening bow for a brand new event. Ski slopestyle is this

:02:23.:02:23.

morning. One win, one loss yesterday for

:02:24.:02:27.

Britain's curling boys. Mind you, it was against the world champions.

:02:28.:02:30.

Today, it's match number three of nine, against Germany.

:02:31.:02:33.

Whilst we'll suss out the match between two of Eve Muirhead's chief

:02:34.:02:36.

rivals for gold, it's a repeat of the Vancouver final, between

:02:37.:02:38.

reigning champions Sweden and Canada.

:02:39.:02:42.

And, stand by, as the world's best known snowboarder drops in.

:02:43.:02:44.

America's effortlessly cool Shaun White goes for three in a row, in

:02:45.:02:47.

the giant halfpipe, today. So, here's how to plan your morning

:02:48.:02:53.

getaway. Coming up first: Shower quickly. Get

:02:54.:02:59.

children up. And tell them the women's ski slopestyle semi-finals

:03:00.:03:02.

are on. For once, they'll be out of their beds like a shot.

:03:03.:03:05.

Make breakfast. Forget eggs. We recommend instant porridge or

:03:06.:03:07.

cereal. It's quicker and, as you eat, catch up with two of the golden

:03:08.:03:11.

favourites in women's curling. Canada and Sweden, at 8.20am.

:03:12.:03:13.

When nine o'clock comes, don't panic, you're late anyway. So you

:03:14.:03:17.

might as well settle down, and savour what should be an equally

:03:18.:03:20.

dramatic debut for ski slopestyle, as we saw in the snowboarding

:03:21.:03:21.

version. Same course, but a whole new set of

:03:22.:03:28.

challenges with skis and poles. Katie Summerhayes could be in the

:03:29.:03:30.

running. By the time that ends at ten

:03:31.:03:33.

o'clock, face it, you've pulled a sickie. And it'll be time to enjoy a

:03:34.:03:37.

cuppa, and soak up the slow-burning tension, as Great Britain's men face

:03:38.:03:38.

the Germans in the Ice Cube. Let us go there right away. Indeed,

:03:39.:03:55.

there's curling on the go right now over in the Ice Cube Arena. As you

:03:56.:04:04.

can see, the Canadians are 6-3 up. We know that the snowboard

:04:05.:04:17.

slopestylers made such a big impression with everyone back home,

:04:18.:04:19.

especially when Jenny Jones nailed down bronze and a first ever British

:04:20.:04:23.

medal on snow. Now, those same rails and kickers are going to test the

:04:24.:04:26.

freestyle skiers. It's tough enough riding one piece of equipment, a

:04:27.:04:30.

snowboard. But, throw two skis and two poles into the equation, and

:04:31.:04:33.

that's a lot of moving parts to control! Getting off a chairlift or

:04:34.:04:36.

a poma will never seem difficult again, once you've seen this.

:04:37.:04:46.

Welcome to slopestyle if you've never seen it before, this is a

:04:47.:04:52.

skate park on a hill. Made up of six elements. The first three are rail

:04:53.:04:57.

sections or man-made objects. The last three are jumps. My

:04:58.:05:02.

co-commentator will talk you through the first three.

:05:03.:05:07.

The first element, a choice of five rails. Whilst they will be hitting

:05:08.:05:12.

it slow, it is technical. The second is about creativity, a choice of

:05:13.:05:18.

three lines all entwined. The third is the largest section. You have

:05:19.:05:24.

three choices, the box on the left hand side, the Russian doll in the

:05:25.:05:29.

middle. On the right-hand side, a curved wall. The key is speed.

:05:30.:05:34.

Awaiting you is the first of the three jumps.

:05:35.:05:39.

These are the jumps. Make no mistake, they are massive. Many are

:05:40.:05:44.

nervous when they see this. Two options, a smaller and larger line.

:05:45.:05:51.

In comparison to the rails, this is where the acrobatic element comes

:05:52.:05:56.

in. This puts them in perspective. These are kickers. They are really

:05:57.:06:03.

wide which means the athletes can carve across and generate rotation.

:06:04.:06:14.

This is the sixth and final element. Known as the money boot, which winds

:06:15.:06:20.

you gold. The trick people are looking for is the triple cork. We

:06:21.:06:28.

will seek spins, four times around, but at the same time riders will be

:06:29.:06:34.

upside down three times. If you can land a triple cork, you stand a good

:06:35.:06:39.

chance -- a good chance of standing on the podium. We are pretty

:06:40.:06:43.

excited. This will blow your mind.

:06:44.:06:49.

It's time to meet Britain's Olympic debutante in this brand new event.

:06:50.:06:54.

She's only 18, from Sheffield, and, like Jenny Jones, learned to love

:06:55.:07:00.

winter sport on a dry ski slope. She's Katie Summerhayes.

:07:01.:07:17.

Katie Summerhayes, British freestyle skiing. I was six when I first

:07:18.:07:25.

started skiing in Sheffield. I joined the ski club as something to

:07:26.:07:29.

do with my family. It was really fun. Freestyle skiing is jumps and

:07:30.:07:40.

rails together. Three jumps and three rails in one run. You don't

:07:41.:07:46.

have any rules. You don't know what will happen when someone goes down.

:07:47.:07:54.

People don't know about slopestyle skiing. That is what is great it

:07:55.:07:59.

being in the Olympics. People will want to watch it on TV and get

:08:00.:08:04.

involved. The travelling is the hardest. People say, you are from

:08:05.:08:11.

England, how can you ski! Just as in the snowboarding version

:08:12.:08:22.

of slopestyle over the weekend, the competitors have two qualifying runs

:08:23.:08:25.

in which to make the best possible impression with the judges. And book

:08:26.:08:28.

their place in the final at nine o'clock. The whole process began a

:08:29.:08:32.

short while ago, and here's the first run. Tim Warwood and Graham

:08:33.:08:34.

Bell are in charge. Welcome to the Rosa Khutor extreme

:08:35.:08:40.

part. We are here for the qualifying rounds of the women's ski slopestyle

:08:41.:08:42.

competition. Dominique Ohaco. Coming into the

:08:43.:08:58.

high box. Progressively wider at the end. From Santiago. The first girl

:08:59.:09:16.

to hit the larger side will stop 25 metres. A switch 540, takes off

:09:17.:09:24.

backwards, 1.5 spins, lands forwards. The first of the ladies

:09:25.:09:32.

tackling the big side. She went big on one of them, didn't she? We were

:09:33.:09:37.

talking before we came an hour, how the judges will pick this. A lot of

:09:38.:09:43.

the girls will be hitting the smaller side. We have seen Katie

:09:44.:09:51.

Summerhayes in practice with a switch 1080. Versus a 540 on the

:09:52.:09:56.

other side. Just how the judges will score that. It should warrant more

:09:57.:10:02.

points, but on a chip which is not as difficult, it is a hard one. If

:10:03.:10:07.

you spin more, on a small jump, does that outweigh going less on a big

:10:08.:10:13.

jump? We will have to try and work it out as we go along.

:10:14.:10:24.

She takes the lead now. 69.60. It might be OK for a top 12.

:10:25.:10:32.

Next up for Switzerland, Camilla Berra.

:10:33.:10:41.

She came off a little early from that rail. Her father was an Alpine

:10:42.:10:51.

ski racer. It was her brothers who got her into freestyle skiing.

:10:52.:10:52.

Switch. 540. Yes. A big 720. Dipping the

:10:53.:11:14.

shoulder. Double front flip! Oh, yes! That was awesome! The double

:11:15.:11:26.

cannonball. That woke us up. Yes, it certainly did. What a great way to

:11:27.:11:31.

entertain the crowd this early in the morning. It woke everyone up in

:11:32.:11:36.

the stands. Coming off that rail early. As we saw with the snowboard,

:11:37.:11:44.

mistakes aren't going to be taken off the tricks. It penalises the

:11:45.:11:51.

overall impression. Talking about gold medals in the Olympics, yes,

:11:52.:11:55.

the double front flip, that was huge. She has two open up there.

:11:56.:12:07.

That was big. That must have been a 40 metre flight. The 19-year-old

:12:08.:12:16.

from Switzerland takes the lead in this qualifying round. Devin Logan.

:12:17.:12:32.

20 years of edge. She came from an Alpine ski racing background. A

:12:33.:12:41.

confident skier. Fifth in the halfpipe, and fifth in the

:12:42.:12:45.

slopestyle in the World Championships a couple of seasons

:12:46.:12:51.

ago. She struggled with injury. Nice style, see the way she held that

:12:52.:12:55.

when she came off the box, held it at 90 and dropped it in. Really in

:12:56.:13:06.

control. 540, coming in backwards. Did she miss the grab, switch five?

:13:07.:13:13.

And a 540, I think it was. Solid, strong skier. It looked like

:13:14.:13:30.

she had a bit of nerves at the top. She seemed to shake it off.

:13:31.:13:38.

She held that at 90. Showing the judges she is in a lot of control.

:13:39.:13:46.

You can already start to see a couple of holes developing, it is

:13:47.:13:54.

startling -- starting to soften up. It froze last night but not all the

:13:55.:13:58.

way down. There was a slight drizzle of rain last night in the men's

:13:59.:14:04.

moguls. It has gone very warm over the last couple of days. Hopefully,

:14:05.:14:08.

the forecast is for cooler weather coming back in. 540 grab. Grabbing,

:14:09.:14:17.

your hand on the toe, on the opposite ski. Devon Logan takes

:14:18.:14:23.

first place. She has come through the big side. She has not had

:14:24.:14:34.

anything over a couple of 540s. But the judges rewarded the bravado of

:14:35.:14:39.

those big jumps. The Americans are looking good. And the Canadians are

:14:40.:14:44.

mounting their challenge now with Dara Howell. A definite medal

:14:45.:14:49.

contender in this competition. 19 years old. From Ontario in Canada.

:14:50.:14:57.

Second in the ski slopestyle World Championships last year. She has

:14:58.:15:02.

some stitches in her nose but it wasn't from the slopestyle course.

:15:03.:15:11.

She woke up, and a lampshade came crashing down on her face. She is

:15:12.:15:14.

all right now. A couple of stitches in her nose.

:15:15.:15:27.

Switch 720, very nice. The landing is starting to get a little bit

:15:28.:15:38.

bumpy. That was beautiful. She is happy with that. I think we have

:15:39.:15:45.

just seen our new leader. I am not as keen on the rails. She has a

:15:46.:15:53.

smile on her face. She went off slightly early. She misses the

:15:54.:16:06.

grab. I will retract my statement! I do not think it is first place. The

:16:07.:16:18.

truck driver grabbed his where you used -- grab is where you use both

:16:19.:16:33.

hands, we saw it in the men's moguls last night. First! Brilliant. Solid

:16:34.:17:03.

on the relevant. It is pretty much straight. I thought she was going to

:17:04.:17:13.

use a little bit of side there. Backflip. 720 with a tail grab. Very

:17:14.:17:35.

nice. 20 years old. Skiing out of Pemberton. The British Columbia and

:17:36.:17:49.

will hopefully be in contention. That is top 12 for me. Definitely.

:17:50.:18:04.

Cable calm, getting their money's worth. They have helicopter cams as

:18:05.:18:30.

well. Third place. Next is Silvia Bertagna from Italy. A possible

:18:31.:18:44.

contender. 29 years old. Very nice, switching it up, spinning round,

:18:45.:18:53.

little technical intricacies on the rails are what the judges are

:18:54.:19:09.

looking for. Nice. A natural 360 two the bottom jump, 720, she holds on.

:19:10.:19:22.

Good variation. Not much distance. Technically you get the variation,

:19:23.:19:45.

with the switch. This is the small side. These are not small jumps,

:19:46.:20:16.

they are 25 m. Fifth place. Katie Summerhayes, representing Team GB.

:20:17.:20:32.

450 out of the rail. She is arguably one of the best rail riders out of

:20:33.:20:48.

the ladies. 540 off the butter box. Switch five, nice. Trying to get as

:20:49.:20:59.

much speed as she can. Nice 720. Good clean run so far. 540 tail

:21:00.:21:16.

grab. Yes! It looks clean. It looked to me like that was good enough to

:21:17.:21:19.

get into the top 12 to get through to the final later today. 450 out of

:21:20.:21:31.

the down rail, it is about spinning on and spinning off these rails. She

:21:32.:21:49.

got the grabs. That was the Japan. 720. She missed the tail grab. Let

:21:50.:21:58.

us hope the judges did not see that. I think we are looking at a

:21:59.:22:12.

score in the mid-70s. There is Jenny Jones, bronze medallist. Katie

:22:13.:22:21.

Summerhayes could be a dark horse. She did well at the last World Cup.

:22:22.:22:43.

Second place! , come on. Not bad on the rails. Having said that...

:22:44.:23:00.

Backflip. She had to open up a little bit early for the line. There

:23:01.:23:21.

is the zero. How did she manage to land that? Taking off backwards and

:23:22.:23:35.

landing backwards, that was huge. We are splitting hairs, but this was

:23:36.:23:56.

nice. Backflip. Japan. Here is the zero. She should have landed at that

:23:57.:24:15.

point. She is praying. The Canadians are doing very well. Second place.

:24:16.:24:26.

That pushes Katie Summerhayes down. Kaya Turski is the odds-on

:24:27.:24:35.

favourite. She lives in California. She is from Montreal. That was not

:24:36.:24:46.

too clever. She came into the switch to the up rail. She is down. The

:24:47.:25:01.

favourite for gold taking a hard slam. She was leaning backwards. It

:25:02.:25:14.

is so slippy. Her legs went from under her. She is back up. Perhaps

:25:15.:25:27.

she hurt her pride more than anything else. She came down on the

:25:28.:25:32.

right side, the right elbow, the right shoulder. If you can get

:25:33.:25:40.

herself back to the top, the physios have a serious amount of work to do

:25:41.:25:43.

in the next half hour before she can ski again. That was a huge upset.

:25:44.:26:03.

Katie Summerhayes looking comfortable in third place.

:26:04.:26:11.

Virtually assured of a final at 9am. If use key, -- you ski, you will

:26:12.:26:24.

understand how difficult it is going backwards. It is a fascinating

:26:25.:26:31.

event. We want to introduce you to Britain's mail represents the Venice

:26:32.:26:38.

event, -- representative in this event, James Woods. That will be

:26:39.:26:44.

taking place on Thursday. There was a statement saying that Woodsy had a

:26:45.:26:53.

bad fall in training and the physios have been working very hard and he

:26:54.:26:58.

undertook some training yesterday and the physio work is ongoing, so

:26:59.:27:02.

fingers crossed he can compete on Thursday. It is time to meet him.

:27:03.:27:25.

The flight from London Heathrow is arriving. Find them. I made you a

:27:26.:27:45.

sign. I'll argue? -- how are you? Welcome to such -- Sochi. There is

:27:46.:28:07.

the flame. Once you have caught a fish, it has been fished. This is

:28:08.:28:14.

the centre of the village, but we are going up to the mountains. First

:28:15.:28:20.

Olympics. Yes, I cannot believe I am here. I went and saw London and it

:28:21.:28:28.

was great to feel part of it. Uber Team GB, you are part of it. Do you

:28:29.:28:35.

feel pressure to put your spot on the map or do you think the sport

:28:36.:28:46.

will do it by itself? I think the sport can speak for itself, but I

:28:47.:28:51.

think everyone will mash it. I am excited to go and ski. It has been a

:28:52.:29:06.

few days. Is this it? I do not know what the Russian is for we have

:29:07.:29:18.

arrived, but we have arrived. Get the team issue caught on. I will

:29:19.:29:41.

show you where you are living. Thank you for that. Our Russian helper has

:29:42.:29:55.

told us we are in a broken down gondola. 140m to the river. How

:29:56.:30:10.

important is the result you? Huge. The Olympics is the top thing in

:30:11.:30:14.

sport and I know I am capable and I feel really good about what I do, I

:30:15.:30:18.

am loving it. You can probably see the union

:30:19.:30:34.

flags, home. That is it! That is wicked.

:30:35.:30:42.

I feel like sneaking a cheeky look. Can you get into the village? He is

:30:43.:30:52.

an athlete. We'll go and have a look. That was rather presumptuous

:30:53.:30:58.

of that lady! Let us get you home, come on! There is, the Union flag.

:30:59.:31:04.

How does it feel to be representing Team GB? It is huge. It is big deal

:31:05.:31:10.

to me. I am very patriotic in general. What gives us that

:31:11.:31:17.

impression? We love that. Good luck. Put it there, big man. Listen, I'm

:31:18.:31:24.

going to find my way home. You find where you are sleeping. CU. I've

:31:25.:31:32.

known him since I was 12, it is pretty nuts. A lovely man, very

:31:33.:31:41.

talented. How good of him to do that straight from the playing after

:31:42.:31:42.

travelling. Last year, Woodsy became Britain's

:31:43.:31:47.

first freestyle skiing World Championship medallist for 20 years.

:31:48.:31:50.

And he's also claimed the overall World Cup title in slopestyle. He is

:31:51.:31:56.

a genuine contender when the men's event gets underway early in your

:31:57.:31:59.

morning. First qualifying run is at 6.15am on Thursday, here on BBC Two.

:32:00.:32:01.

And the final gets going at 9.30. It is all about the women. Katie

:32:02.:32:14.

Summerhayes did it very good first run, looking good for the final. We

:32:15.:32:17.

have one more qualifying run. Lying in 12th, she has work to do.

:32:18.:32:26.

She is on the cusp. Nice and solid. A big tube, a big

:32:27.:32:46.

rail. 180 on, 540 off. I am not sure if she will be penalised. 360. Into

:32:47.:32:56.

a big 720. She is already claiming it! She is

:32:57.:33:13.

happy with that. A much better run. It is very tight.

:33:14.:33:36.

We appear to have a problem, but Katie Summerhayes in great shape.

:33:37.:33:44.

Only 18. We will be back to that second run as soon as we can. While

:33:45.:33:49.

we wait, let me tell you more about Shaun White.

:33:50.:33:54.

One of the big global draws of these Olympic Games is snowboarding giant

:33:55.:33:57.

Shaun White. Once known as the Flying Tomato because of his

:33:58.:34:00.

flowing, red, curly locks, but those have gone. He turned up as a

:34:01.:34:14.

teenager in Turin, for the halfpipe, and won it. The halfpipe gets going

:34:15.:34:18.

again today. There is all of snowboarding, and

:34:19.:34:31.

then there is Shaun White snowboarding.

:34:32.:34:36.

Love him or hate him, he is a machine.

:34:37.:34:45.

Shaun White is just Shaun White. I have been doing this for a long

:34:46.:34:53.

time, it is very funny to say that. Even the guys around my edge, I

:34:54.:34:57.

started competing maybe ten years before them. I was a pro at 13. At

:34:58.:35:06.

that point, I'd already had sponsors since I was seven. Everybody was in

:35:07.:35:11.

their mid-20s at that point, and I was, I have to be better than these

:35:12.:35:16.

guys. Right off the bat, I was setting the bar pretty high, and had

:35:17.:35:20.

to be better than these professional guys, fully grown men competing

:35:21.:35:26.

against me. I had to be better, to learn their chicks and one up it. --

:35:27.:35:35.

tricks. Do you feel your life is working in

:35:36.:35:42.

the rhythm of Olympic cycles. After Vancouver, you are building towards

:35:43.:35:46.

2014? It is hard to describe. I truly

:35:47.:35:51.

dislike it. And I love it at the same time. It is one of those

:35:52.:35:54.

things, you don't realise how great it was until it is over. It gives

:35:55.:36:00.

everything purpose. Today, I woke up, and I chose a healthy breakfast

:36:01.:36:04.

rather than this because of the Olympics. I figured, oh, I am going

:36:05.:36:10.

to have an ice bath so my muscles will be great for the next day,

:36:11.:36:21.

because of the Olympics. Everything has a bigger goal. After my first

:36:22.:36:23.

Olympics, I didn't know what to do with myself. Literally, while, I did

:36:24.:36:32.

it. All right! What do you do? Being truthful, I got super depressed, I

:36:33.:36:36.

didn't know what to do. The next season, I lost my next event, I got

:36:37.:36:43.

second which was a loss. After the season I had. I didn't know how to

:36:44.:36:49.

make myself feel the same that I had at the Olympics. It is amazing,

:36:50.:36:54.

but, yes, I like it that it gives me a lot of purpose. It gives me things

:36:55.:37:04.

to look forward to. Shaun White unveils the Tomahawk, that is mind

:37:05.:37:12.

blowing! His second gold medal. He is the ultimate competitor and he

:37:13.:37:16.

has made it OK to be competitive in snowboarding. Ever since he

:37:17.:37:21.

arrived, he has been unashamedly out to win. That attitude has split the

:37:22.:37:26.

world of snowboarding. In a sport which has antiestablishment roots,

:37:27.:37:31.

winning at all costs doesn't appeal to everyone. It is bizarre to me, it

:37:32.:37:36.

is a funny sport because it is built around everyone being friends. We

:37:37.:37:42.

are, we like one another. But if you are entering a competition, you want

:37:43.:37:47.

to win. If you wanted to go right with your friends... You get to the

:37:48.:37:55.

bottom, how was your run? I'm just having a great time with my

:37:56.:38:01.

friends. I swear I said the same thing. It is so easy to say that.

:38:02.:38:09.

For me, I started to wear my emotions on my sleeve. I started to

:38:10.:38:18.

speak the truth. I think most riders, I want to say they are

:38:19.:38:21.

saying the same. They are starting to realise it is OK to want to win

:38:22.:38:29.

and do that. You are such a competitor. When that they does

:38:30.:38:34.

come, whether it is two years or 12 years, you have got to accept that

:38:35.:38:40.

losing is OK. Can you, will you be able to? I wish I could say... I

:38:41.:38:48.

could truthfully say it would be OK. The only time I am OK with

:38:49.:38:53.

losing is if I literally put everything on the line. If I went

:38:54.:38:57.

there and did the best one I could, then I could walk away content. If

:38:58.:39:02.

someone beats it, they deserve to win. Those are usually the best

:39:03.:39:06.

moments in my career. Because what happens after that, it is an amazing

:39:07.:39:11.

thing. I wish it could happen all the time. It would be ridiculous. If

:39:12.:39:23.

I could just harness that. You have been so successful. Have

:39:24.:39:26.

you ever felt like it is lonely up at the top?

:39:27.:39:32.

Yes, within the sport of snowboarding, for sure. It has been

:39:33.:39:38.

a somewhat lonely scenario. But I never lived in the mountains, I

:39:39.:39:44.

always left, went home, and I hang around with my friends and family. I

:39:45.:39:49.

describe myself as very multitasking. I always doing

:39:50.:39:53.

something different. My biggest passion right now is playing music.

:39:54.:39:58.

It is so much fun to do. There is competition. The band I play in for

:39:59.:40:04.

show. I remember feeling pretty nervous, but more excited nervous.

:40:05.:40:10.

We stepped out on stage. Normally it is me alone on the halfpipe. I

:40:11.:40:16.

realised, all these guys are with me, this is great. I wasn't carrying

:40:17.:40:23.

the whole group on my back, everyone was doing their part. I like that.

:40:24.:40:31.

That has been, that has been an interesting scenario.

:40:32.:40:36.

Fascinating to see Shaun White admitting finally it is not just

:40:37.:40:40.

about lifestyle and snowboarding, cruising around with your friends

:40:41.:40:46.

and having a good time. These guys are finely tuned athletes and

:40:47.:40:52.

competitive animals. Shaun White will try at 5:30pm, to become the

:40:53.:40:58.

first American male athlete ever to win the same event three times in a

:40:59.:41:04.

row at the Winter Games. He is going in the second heat at 12 noon.

:41:05.:41:09.

Although, if White doesn't get through, it'll be a bigger story

:41:10.:41:16.

than if he wins the thing again! I think we have sold the technical

:41:17.:41:24.

gremlins. The second run of the women's ski slopestyle.

:41:25.:41:32.

Evelin Bhend, she is lying in 12th position. She has work to do. She is

:41:33.:41:37.

on the cusp. Nice and solid through the flat

:41:38.:41:53.

down. What a big tube. 181, 540 of. It is actually a rail element so I'm

:41:54.:41:59.

not sure if she will be penalised. 360.

:42:00.:42:05.

Into a big 720. And a misty seven to finish things, she is already

:42:06.:42:16.

claiming it. A much better run. It is very, very tight for this 12th

:42:17.:42:33.

spot. I think that is going to move higher up a fraction. Perse School

:42:34.:42:40.

for the first round was 67.20. It is the intricacies, making sure that

:42:41.:42:43.

you are grabbing your spins properly. Let us be honest. They

:42:44.:42:51.

weren't grabbed properly. Let us see if she has missed the grab there.

:42:52.:42:57.

She has done a very clever thing, she has claimed it instantly like

:42:58.:43:02.

that, to give the impression to the judges she did really well. Will she

:43:03.:43:08.

improve? Will she have some kind of breathing space?

:43:09.:43:14.

A lot of it will be depending on whether Kaya Turski can go again.

:43:15.:43:37.

I hope it was just damaged pride. The weight of expectation, she

:43:38.:43:42.

promptly cannot believe she has just done that.

:43:43.:43:51.

Nothing hurts more than a torn ego. I have had if you torn muscles in my

:43:52.:43:56.

time. Me and you have very fragile egos

:43:57.:44:05.

that need constant stroking. Sixth place. Safe. She does the fist

:44:06.:44:19.

pump of I am through! Her team is right in there. The

:44:20.:44:25.

Swiss team. They are high-fiving each other, congratulating each

:44:26.:44:28.

other. Devon Logan. Rocking to music. I

:44:29.:44:37.

think we should get to listen to the music they are listening to.

:44:38.:44:39.

Devon Logan, lying in fourth place. A switch on the up rail. A little

:44:40.:44:55.

bit early there. Might not see an improvement here. A switch on.

:44:56.:45:04.

Holding that. Showing a lot of control. A big 540. The skis were

:45:05.:45:13.

snapping out. The landings aren't very smooth at all. No, very bumpy.

:45:14.:45:18.

It is very soft. 540 tail grab. Devin Logan probably not going to

:45:19.:45:38.

improve on her first score. I think her first run was cleaner. Lifting

:45:39.:46:04.

one ski. Japan grab. That was the tail grab, nice style putting it

:46:05.:46:20.

down. She improved by one, but she is still in fourth. She is happy. It

:46:21.:46:27.

is all about getting into the top 12 at this age. To get an Olympic

:46:28.:46:36.

medal, you want to be qualifying well. Scraping through in 12th place

:46:37.:46:44.

is not the ideal way of approaching the competition. Dara Howell from

:46:45.:46:55.

Canada, 19. She is leading after the first run. She's got 88 -- she

:46:56.:47:13.

scored 88. Switch seven, nice and solid. Switch five, sorry switch

:47:14.:47:22.

seven, that should have been a Switch five. She is OK. She is in

:47:23.:47:36.

first place. She should have had a Switch 540 and that would have set

:47:37.:47:42.

her up going forward and she over cooked it and she know that. -- she

:47:43.:47:56.

knew that. She thought she had gone too big so she put the 180 in. You

:47:57.:48:11.

can see the cut on her nose where the lampshade fail.

:48:12.:48:43.

Backflip. Who does not love a backflip? She needs this. Nice.

:48:44.:49:13.

Seven tail grab. That should be good enough to get through into the top

:49:14.:49:22.

12. She was last after crashing on her first run. Nice and solid.

:49:23.:49:39.

Backflip. A lot of people love the backflip, however it is not the

:49:40.:49:51.

highest scoring trick you can do. A lot of iron cross backflips in the

:49:52.:49:55.

moguls last night.
