Hello again. Thursday at the Crucible in Sheffield, in this 2017 | :00:33. | :00:40.
Betfred World Championship, was the start of the second round. The first | :00:41. | :00:44.
of those last 16 matches to get going featured the world above three | :00:45. | :00:48.
and the 2015 world champion here, Stuart Bingham. You might recall in | :00:49. | :00:53.
round one he saw off the challenge of another former winner here, Peter | :00:54. | :00:56.
Ebdon. Peter Ebdon is on record as saying he fancies Kyren Wilson, from | :00:57. | :01:02.
Kettering, to become a world champion here within the next three | :01:03. | :01:06.
years. Peter has a good eye for talent. In fact, it was he who first | :01:07. | :01:10.
spotted Kyren Wilson's talent, when he was only six years of age. But | :01:11. | :01:15.
with that potential translates into quality on the table today -- but | :01:16. | :01:21.
will that potential? In this best of 25 frames match played over three | :01:22. | :01:24.
sessions we'll be seeing eight frames in the company of the | :01:25. | :01:27.
aforementioned Peter Ebdon and Willie Thorne. | :01:28. | :01:32.
COMMENTATOR: My co-commentator will be breaking | :01:33. | :01:39.
up the first frame, remember now, it's the best of 25. This is eight | :01:40. | :01:47.
frames in this first session. Peter, I know you are a big fan of Kyren | :01:48. | :01:51.
Wilson and I think it's 50-50, this game. It's a fascinating battle in | :01:52. | :01:57.
prospect. One of the game's great ambassadors and champions, former | :01:58. | :02:01.
world champion in Stuart Bingham, one of the hardest workers on the | :02:02. | :02:06.
circuit. Deserves absolutely everything he gets from the game, | :02:07. | :02:10.
against one of the game's great young talent and a future champion, | :02:11. | :02:12.
for sure. That's not a bad way to start. It's | :02:13. | :02:25.
the first shot you play, if you get them you get a boost and think, | :02:26. | :02:30.
that's handy, I'm cueing well. Like all of the good players these days, | :02:31. | :02:35.
rather than play a shot for nothing, they play a shot for something. | :02:36. | :02:39.
Yellow or brown, it doesn't matter which. | :02:40. | :02:48.
He's playing the brown. He's played this nicely, trying to get to the | :02:49. | :02:55.
left of the black so he can pot that and flick the Reddaway. He could | :02:56. | :02:58.
have done with that coming down another six inches for that to be a | :02:59. | :03:02.
certainty. I'm not too sure he can do that, without moving the black. | :03:03. | :03:16.
If that was another foot further down it would have been a very easy | :03:17. | :03:21.
shot to flick the red away from the black. As it is now, safety shot | :03:22. | :03:23.
coming up. I know, Peter, you were practising | :03:24. | :03:52.
with Kyren before the World Championship. In practice, he must | :03:53. | :03:57.
be a really heavy scorer, I should imagine? Yes, he's a wonderful | :03:58. | :04:01.
player, great all-round player. Excellent safety player. His long | :04:02. | :04:05.
game is tremendous. Scores very heavily in amongst the balls. One of | :04:06. | :04:10.
the best players with the rest I've ever seen. And also very central | :04:11. | :04:19.
striking. Being able to play an excellent playing ball games are to | :04:20. | :04:22.
be perfectly honest, he really doesn't have any weaknesses in his | :04:23. | :04:28.
game, and in my honest professional opinion he just needs a little bit | :04:29. | :04:33.
more experience. But he's certainly capable of winning this tournament. | :04:34. | :04:38.
He's good enough, that's for sure. Has a very, very tough opponent here | :04:39. | :04:40.
in Stuart Bingham though. It's a fascinating match in | :04:41. | :04:46.
progress, that's for sure. That's one of the things I like | :04:47. | :05:18.
about Kyren Wilson, he always plays the attacking shot. I don't think | :05:19. | :05:25.
he's got the angle to get onto the black. Never afraid to play the | :05:26. | :05:32.
right shot. A slight chance he could just run through and play the black, | :05:33. | :05:36.
but that's going to be very difficult, so I doubt whether he'll | :05:37. | :05:37.
play that. He played it in off the left-hand | :05:38. | :05:54.
jaw, actually. This is really tough, if he decides to take this on. He's | :05:55. | :05:59.
very aggressive, very attacking. These are really tough. | :06:00. | :06:04.
Very interesting to see Stuart Bingham, actually. He's had a new | :06:05. | :06:19.
waistcoat made for today's match and he has a Ruby back on his way and of | :06:20. | :06:24.
course that is the 40th anniversary of the Crucible. I think it's a nice | :06:25. | :06:27.
touch. Celebrating 40 years at the Crucible | :06:28. | :06:35.
with a Ruby back. I must admit, I thought it was a | :06:36. | :06:53.
green backed waistcoat. There's the badge the players have, | :06:54. | :07:19.
40th anniversary of the championship and we've got at least another ten | :07:20. | :07:21.
years to come. That squared up a little bit off the | :07:22. | :07:36.
second question, actually. I thought that was going to be perfect. | :07:37. | :07:41.
Doesn't seem to be sliding off the second cushion the way they normally | :07:42. | :07:47.
do, Peter. Well, they've only been recrossed recently as well, so he | :07:48. | :07:53.
should be getting some slip and slide from the questions -- they | :07:54. | :07:56.
have been recovered. That time, there was lots of slide. | :07:57. | :08:15.
If this red goes, he certainly won't be having the cue ball replaced. | :08:16. | :08:22.
Obviously very tight. But from Stuart's body language, this does | :08:23. | :08:29.
go. That's really tight. You can certainly see the left-hand jaw, as | :08:30. | :08:32.
we can see from that picture there, but we talk about players pinching | :08:33. | :08:35.
the pocket sometimes. He's going to have to pinch the pocket to pot | :08:36. | :08:37.
this. And he has done, nicely. Well done. | :08:38. | :08:50.
He escaped from the snooker. May decide to go into that cluster of | :08:51. | :08:56.
six reds here just to open them up. He can play at a pretty pace as well | :08:57. | :09:01.
if you wanted to. He's not even played to go into them, but he may | :09:02. | :09:02.
regret that in a moment. Stuart played that very well. Never | :09:03. | :09:32.
easy when you are digging down. Onto the cue ball. With the butt of the | :09:33. | :09:39.
cue raised in the air. It's very easy to put some unintentional and | :09:40. | :09:42.
unwanted side on. He's not in prime position. Simply | :09:43. | :09:57.
because he's having to stretch on the screen, may end up playing the | :09:58. | :10:06.
shot with the rest. He'll be standing around off two cushions and | :10:07. | :10:08.
hopefully avoiding the yellow and blue. | :10:09. | :10:14.
He avoided the yellow. Didn't avoid the blue, but that's OK. Well | :10:15. | :10:23.
played. It's in your eye line when you are playing that shot, you want | :10:24. | :10:27.
to finish anywhere around the blue and that's why he got very close to | :10:28. | :10:30.
the blue, as Peter thought he might do. This was the reason I thought he | :10:31. | :10:39.
may have played into the bunch, he may have a slight angle here. If | :10:40. | :10:43.
not, he's going to have to play for the red on the side cushion. | :10:44. | :10:53.
This is where the work starts. He has to finish low on this next | :10:54. | :10:58.
black. Always interesting to see how | :10:59. | :11:23.
players play this particular shot. To get it absolutely perfect | :11:24. | :11:28.
community to hit the joint of the red Kamouna three reds in front, the | :11:29. | :11:31.
joint on one of the right-hand side in the middle one, hit the joint of | :11:32. | :11:35.
those two, that will spread them far and wide. If you hit it full ball, | :11:36. | :11:39.
you won't get a lot of movement. That's the problem, you can't get | :11:40. | :11:43.
the movement. If he'd caught either of those half ball, they'd have | :11:44. | :11:47.
moved a lot better. Watch how he hits it full ball. | :11:48. | :11:54.
I think he'll consider himself a little unfortunate, because he | :11:55. | :11:59.
played with 90 of pace and got plenty of action on the cue ball, | :12:00. | :12:03.
but as you say, didn't quite get the correct cannon. This is tough. Wow. | :12:04. | :12:11.
I thought that was in for a second. It was a very good effort. And | :12:12. | :12:19.
there's a gap. There's always a gap. As JB says, there's always a gap. So | :12:20. | :12:26.
that was the first real chance of Stuart Bingham. Ina May not get | :12:27. | :12:27.
another one in this frame. Kyren has finished a bit straight on | :12:28. | :12:47.
the black. If he does have plenty of cue power. | :12:48. | :12:54.
He may be playing the deep screw for the left red into the centre. That's | :12:55. | :13:02.
what is played for and he's got into it too well. I think he's just OK. | :13:03. | :13:10.
Interesting to watch the white bear, because it's a brand-new cloth, it | :13:11. | :13:15.
skidded and the side spin took and the screw back, excellent. | :13:16. | :13:33.
Playing for the bottom red of the four. He played a cannon. Don't | :13:34. | :13:43.
blame him for that. Just watch this black he played in the previous tie. | :13:44. | :13:46.
Because it is a brand-new cloth, sometimes they skip through. It | :13:47. | :13:50.
seemed to stop for a while, then speed up. A brilliant shot. To be | :13:51. | :13:57.
the perfectly honest it's a good job he didn't get any sort of bounce off | :13:58. | :14:00.
the side cushion otherwise he would have snooker himself behind the | :14:01. | :14:01.
blue, but it was a wonderful shot. It was a very good indication of | :14:02. | :14:13.
just how much cue power Kyren Wilson possesses. This is an excellent | :14:14. | :14:17.
chance now to take this first frame of the morning. Afternoon, rather. | :14:18. | :15:06.
This really is a fascinating clash, because both of these top players | :15:07. | :15:11.
score very heavily in amongst the balls when they are playing well. I | :15:12. | :15:21.
really fascinating encounter. That wasn't the greatest positional shot | :15:22. | :15:24.
in the world from Kyren there. But he's very good with the rest, | :15:25. | :15:28.
normally. This shouldn't be too much of a problem. | :15:29. | :15:34.
And that's a nice little cannon to hold perfect position for the pink | :15:35. | :15:38.
into the left centre. Well played. Maybe perhaps should have had a look | :15:39. | :15:59.
at the black there. The only reason I'm saying that his age will need | :16:00. | :16:04.
the brown at the moment. If he'd got two blacks he'd have been 22 infant | :16:05. | :16:10.
by the time it came to the brown. -- 22 in front. | :16:11. | :16:21.
The way up the brown and the way these pockets play, it's a lot | :16:22. | :16:26.
easier playing off the black cushion along the cushion, but you'd | :16:27. | :16:29.
probably want to move the brown into play, rather than drop behind it, | :16:30. | :16:33.
wouldn't you? Yes, because if you get right behind the brown, you have | :16:34. | :16:38.
to play at a dead weight, really, to give the pocket a chance of | :16:39. | :16:51.
accepting the ball. And at least if the cannon goes wrong, you can then | :16:52. | :16:57.
play a good safety shot. It doesn't look like he has the angle to bring | :16:58. | :17:01.
the brownout. You may be able to play off the side cushion. I think | :17:02. | :17:05.
he's come an inch too far. May have to play this with a lot of side. He | :17:06. | :17:10.
will be playing the cannon here, make no mistake. | :17:11. | :17:15.
Whenever you play this side with power, it's a tricky shot. There's | :17:16. | :17:26.
the side, that was the cannon. Missed it. Now then, absolutely no | :17:27. | :17:32.
value at all in going for the pot, but how does he get safe? Well, | :17:33. | :17:40.
knowing Kyren and the fact that he's very aggressive and a very attacking | :17:41. | :17:45.
player, I wouldn't be surprised if he took Chris brown on. I'm not | :17:46. | :17:50.
saying it's the right shot but he's got a tough safety shot. I can't see | :17:51. | :17:57.
a safety shot, can you? Unless he played it cushion first and tried to | :17:58. | :18:00.
get the brown very thin, but the Brownies coming into open play, so | :18:01. | :18:06.
that's not a good choice. No. Yes, faced with a dilemma here. An | :18:07. | :18:15.
incredibly tough pot on an equally difficult -- or an equally difficult | :18:16. | :18:18.
safety shot. I think he was thinking about pushing the brown onto the | :18:19. | :18:23.
green side cushion for a second, but that would leave a very simple | :18:24. | :18:26.
safety shot. I think he's going for this. | :18:27. | :18:34.
That was tough. He's been very, very fortunate there. I didn't think | :18:35. | :18:40.
there was any in the world he could play the slow pot and not leave it | :18:41. | :18:44.
on should he miss it, but that's exactly what's happened. Stuart has | :18:45. | :18:50.
to make sure the brown comes to at least behind the brown spot again. | :18:51. | :18:56.
This is very good, this is tight. Just drifted a little bit too much. | :18:57. | :19:14.
This is certainly a thin neck if he decides to take this on. -- snick. | :19:15. | :19:27.
And although it's not easy, this is a chance for Stuart. | :19:28. | :19:50.
I think he slightly erred on the side Wood side of caution. Yes, it's | :19:51. | :19:59.
always better thin than thick, because the cue ball stays around if | :20:00. | :20:03.
you get it fixed. This is three shots on the trot, very similar. | :20:04. | :20:07.
Looking at the potting angle again. You'd like to get the white where it | :20:08. | :20:11.
is now, he has have a chance of getting away with it. If it goes in | :20:12. | :20:13.
you have a long blue. He's played in and out of baulk. Has | :20:14. | :20:25.
he got a good kiss, or a bad one? A bad one. | :20:26. | :20:37.
23 points ahead, with only 18 on the table. | :20:38. | :21:19.
Half chance for Stuart Bingham here, the regular shot to nothing. | :21:20. | :21:27.
It's quite a long way away. I'm sure this red will pass the green. | :21:28. | :21:56.
I think he can screw directly back, but he could overscrew this. He's | :21:57. | :22:02.
playing for the red that's free on the left-hand side of the pink. He | :22:03. | :22:08.
was so concerned about overscrewing it, he's slightly overscrewed it. -- | :22:09. | :22:11.
he's slightly underscrewed it. It's not an ideal angle. Whichever | :22:12. | :22:27.
of these two reds he decides to take on, one on each side of the table. | :22:28. | :22:33.
As I mentioned previously, he is normally a very good rest player. | :22:34. | :22:38.
He caught that red half ball rather than pottable, he'd have been | :22:39. | :22:56.
perfect on the black. That's the reason Peter says he's unlucky and I | :22:57. | :23:07.
agree with him. Foul and a miss. And possibly thought that, ... | :23:08. | :23:34.
Clever that, didn't want to hit it on the right-hand side obviously | :23:35. | :23:39.
because that would have left an easy red. Got it wrong first time, got it | :23:40. | :23:41.
perfect the second. A good opportunity here for Stuart | :23:42. | :23:54.
to get the cue ball behind the green on the baulk cushion. | :23:55. | :24:00.
He's not judged the angle very well where. | :24:01. | :24:17.
This is quite a thin snick woman needs to be careful with the in off. | :24:18. | :24:29.
-- this is quite a thin snick will stop he needs to be careful with the | :24:30. | :24:31.
in off. Is a tendency on those safety shots | :24:32. | :24:47.
to go slightly too thin, because if you go to thick, OK, the in off is | :24:48. | :24:52.
not too much of a problem but if the cue ball rattles in the jaws of the | :24:53. | :24:55.
pockets it's very easy to leave your opponent an easy opportunity. | :24:56. | :24:58.
Meanwhile Stuart Bingham has played a much better safety shot. That's | :24:59. | :25:02.
where the cue ball should have been on his previous safety shots. That's | :25:03. | :25:06.
much better. Now, if his red was dead straight | :25:07. | :25:24.
along the baulk cushion, it's a good safety shot but he's left a slight | :25:25. | :25:28.
angle. He could take it on and go for the black but it's too straight | :25:29. | :25:31.
for that. It looks like it's possible to put this red in. But | :25:32. | :25:37.
it's as fine as you like, isn't it? I don't blame him for playing it | :25:38. | :26:28.
like this. It's a difficult pot, but he's unlucky to have brought that | :26:29. | :26:31.
red back into play. Very easy for Kyren. | :26:32. | :27:39.
We've already mentioned that Kyren is a very attacking and very | :27:40. | :27:44.
aggressive player. I think he'll be taking the opportunity here to play | :27:45. | :27:51.
hard stone screw shot into the pink, scatter the reds. | :27:52. | :27:59.
I certainly don't think that's how he played it. He missed the intended | :28:00. | :28:02.
cannon. So that looks like end of break. | :28:03. | :28:18.
Needs to put the disappointment of that opportunity wasted, really, out | :28:19. | :28:22.
of his mind and play good safety shot. | :28:23. | :28:37.
He's less Stuart Bingham something tempting. | :28:38. | :28:56.
Not quite settled yet, this morning, Stuart Bingham. | :28:57. | :29:19.
Just came around to see if the potting angle is OK on this right. | :29:20. | :29:26.
He virtually screw it near the white because his virtual impossible for | :29:27. | :29:29.
the colours are going, that is what he has done and played it very | :29:30. | :29:33.
nicely. About the kiss on the brown it was perfect. What a break! He has | :29:34. | :29:45.
a nice angle on the green. To go into the rates, should he choose to | :29:46. | :29:54.
do that. There is the possibility of a plant that can be made at the | :29:55. | :29:56.
bottom of the attack. He may well be on that plant and be | :29:57. | :30:19.
able to make this pot to be honest he was very fortunate to finish on | :30:20. | :30:24.
this plants like this? The green would have been easier shot to play. | :30:25. | :30:29.
He doesn't have to do anything with the cue ball because a half ball | :30:30. | :30:36.
will take him nicely onto the black. There is a gap between the two rates | :30:37. | :30:40.
directly above the black and if he hits the red in between those two | :30:41. | :30:44.
rates he will be plumb on to read and so this is a good chance now. | :30:45. | :30:51.
The brown was rather fortunate, but that is the kiss we were talking | :30:52. | :30:57.
about and now this is a frame-winning opportunity. It was | :30:58. | :31:01.
interesting to see before the previous shot by Kyren Wilson held | :31:02. | :31:05.
up his hand to apologise to Stuart Bingham, he realised he was very | :31:06. | :31:09.
fortunate to finish up on that plant there. This is not absolutely | :31:10. | :31:20.
straightforward because you have got the difficulty of the usage of the | :31:21. | :31:27.
spider and he also needs to avoid the cannon on the red and the black. | :31:28. | :31:38.
That is really well played. He could not have played that better. | :31:39. | :32:13.
Once again there is an angle because all of the reds are in the way of | :32:14. | :32:19.
one another and there is just the one made in the middle of the six | :32:20. | :32:22.
that will be left that will pass into the right-hand corner pocket | :32:23. | :32:26.
but I think you will play Another cannon here. There may even | :32:27. | :32:42.
be another plant there. Just offset into the corner black pocket. That | :32:43. | :32:48.
was nicely played, he left himself read in middle. After this bread, | :32:49. | :32:57.
all of the reds are available, he doesn't have to play anymore | :32:58. | :33:04.
cannons. I am a little bit concerned for his supporters because he hasn't | :33:05. | :33:12.
settled yet, his pace of play, or his pace of cue ball and his safety | :33:13. | :33:16.
at his break-building has been a stray so far this afternoon. He used | :33:17. | :33:21.
to play morning sessions but we have not started until 1pm today. The | :33:22. | :33:31.
break goes to 36 and the lead goes to 43, so two more rates and to | :33:32. | :33:37.
colours and Kyren Wilson will lead 2-0. | :33:38. | :34:54.
59. The frame is now safe. Can he get the first century of this match? | :34:55. | :35:12.
Played for the slightly more difficult red, played to get around | :35:13. | :35:16.
the back of that and get the red into the corner pocket. A very | :35:17. | :35:23.
apprehensive steward there, not looking in total control of his | :35:24. | :35:27.
emotions at the moment, try to get his concentration right. That is not | :35:28. | :35:37.
a bad case, he can drop right behind the red for the choice of middle | :35:38. | :35:38.
pocket or corner. What a shame. No century but an | :35:39. | :36:06.
excellent break of 71 and Stuart Bingham as something to think about | :36:07. | :36:10.
in the opening session as he trails 2-0. | :36:11. | :36:25.
Why is it that the same role of cloth can be playing slower today | :36:26. | :36:53.
than it was yesterday? It is not something that you can account for | :36:54. | :36:57.
and explain logically, it is just the way it is, sometimes it can be | :36:58. | :37:01.
atmospherics but this table is certainly playing slower and at the | :37:02. | :37:05.
moment Stuart Bingham is all at sea. He is really struggling out there. | :37:06. | :37:10.
Could it be the fact that the role of cloth has been kept in a place | :37:11. | :37:14.
that is damp, which obviously until they post on the table, it has not | :37:15. | :37:20.
had a chance to dry the table out to get, it is 45 degrees. Maybe it will | :37:21. | :37:25.
play better tonight. There is a very good chance that. Meanwhile, well, | :37:26. | :37:34.
what a shop that is. That was very, very thin. That is really thin. It | :37:35. | :37:45.
just flicks the blue there. That as a result because the blue the pink. | :37:46. | :38:05.
-- the blue passes the pink. Not much reaction from the cloth. Kyren | :38:06. | :38:13.
absolutely hammered that into the left hand back pocket. This is a | :38:14. | :38:25.
tough pot. It is overcut. Six, Kyren Wilson. This is possible. Stuart | :38:26. | :38:36.
needs to play a slight swerve here with right-hand side. He played it | :38:37. | :38:46.
very well. Yes, we actually saw the white move there and all of a sudden | :38:47. | :38:50.
it starts to bend. He controlled it nicely. Love to play the kiss on and | :38:51. | :38:58.
off the cushioning, to reds above the black would give position on | :38:59. | :39:01.
both of the other two words. He cannot believe he has missed that | :39:02. | :39:08.
case. I am surprised he didn't play the cider kiss there because | :39:09. | :39:11.
whatever happens it will kiss one of them even if it doesn't kiss the | :39:12. | :39:19.
other one. Yes. Stuart is absolutely distraught there. | :39:20. | :39:32.
Stuart Bingham, eight. That was a poor shot. He has been fortunate to | :39:33. | :39:45.
leave this autumn for Kyren Wilson. It is quite a big swerve as well so | :39:46. | :39:49.
it is possible that he could just as easily missed the red. Interesting | :39:50. | :39:55.
to see if this cloth takes a swerve, it seems to take a swerve quite | :39:56. | :40:01.
easily, doesn't it? You know yourself that sometimes it takes an | :40:02. | :40:05.
age for the cue ball to turn. This may once again be the fact that it's | :40:06. | :40:10.
running a little slow and maybe a little damp. | :40:11. | :40:26.
This is a really huge frame for Stuart Bingham. You will be | :40:27. | :40:39.
disappointed going into the mid-session interval, no matter what | :40:40. | :40:44.
happens, he will certainly be feeling a bit better if he can go | :40:45. | :40:47.
into that mid-session interval 3-1 down instead of 4-0 down. He would | :40:48. | :40:56.
have any idea what is happening to the cue ball. He is looking at the | :40:57. | :41:01.
red to the extreme left hand side of the pack. Is that comfortable? He | :41:02. | :41:05.
can't get through to it. I looked a bit dangerous. He was | :41:06. | :41:23.
pushing the boat out there. That wasn't a shot you would like to | :41:24. | :42:03.
play under run-through around the back of the black. You need to get | :42:04. | :42:07.
nicely on the red to get a bit of confidence. He hasn't made any | :42:08. | :42:12.
breaks yet, his highest was 28 in the first three frames that he would | :42:13. | :42:16.
just like to get something happening. He is straight on this | :42:17. | :42:24.
red and it is no good. There is a slight angle and the black is only | :42:25. | :42:28.
available into one corner at the moment. | :42:29. | :42:42.
That is another thing. When you know the table is playing well it is | :42:43. | :42:47.
amazing how sometimes you over here just tried to get the right angle. | :42:48. | :42:53.
Yes, Stuart is doing his best to readjust here. Really struggling to | :42:54. | :43:00.
control the cue ball. One thing that we do know is that Kyren can't | :43:01. | :43:06.
continue giving him chancing because sooner or later Stuart Bingham will | :43:07. | :43:14.
click. His positional play will come back, but not with shots like that. | :43:15. | :43:22.
He will be absolutely disgusted with himself, he will be furious. The cue | :43:23. | :43:32.
ball should have been at least a foot further to the left than that | :43:33. | :43:36.
but once again, I hate to keep going over it, but when a table is playing | :43:37. | :43:40.
a little bit damp it is so hard to get the cue ball moving. That would | :43:41. | :43:46.
have become a lot wider on the old cloth, as it was. Well done, good | :43:47. | :43:49.
recovery. Pink is clearly available but I | :43:50. | :44:22.
don't know if the pink is going to be tied up. Colin Humphries gives | :44:23. | :44:35.
him a little glance, the pink is obviously covered. Upon the brown | :44:36. | :44:42.
spot, the highest pot available. You can sense a distinct change in | :44:43. | :44:45.
Stuart Bingham 's body language now. I think he has really had enough | :44:46. | :44:49.
with the way things have gone so far. He has run out of position, not | :44:50. | :44:56.
in position anyway. You just sense that he has really had enough and | :44:57. | :45:06.
the fires are burning now. There is a feeling of aggression from Stuart | :45:07. | :45:12.
Bingham. It is necessary at the moment to make something happen. | :45:13. | :45:16.
That was a very good pot and not an ideal position. All of a sudden he | :45:17. | :45:25.
is looking better around the table. You would love the pink on the spot | :45:26. | :45:28.
but it is probably not the right way to play time because it may tell you | :45:29. | :45:32.
red up and it is easier to play the yellow and have the choice of two | :45:33. | :45:37.
red but in the pink, if he doesn't play perfectly it will cover a red. | :45:38. | :45:42.
Interesting to see what he plays, I think the yellow was definitely the | :45:43. | :45:43.
choice. That was not too bad at all. It is a good | :45:44. | :46:07.
shot. He has two more shots to play that is an aggressive is shot | :46:08. | :46:10.
because he needs to get rid of the red that is nearest the pocket. That | :46:11. | :46:14.
is why he is plain that one now are not the other one. Look at where the | :46:15. | :46:28.
cue ball is. Nowhere. It needed to be six or seven inches harder than | :46:29. | :46:31.
that. I don't know whether he has the power at the moment to get | :46:32. | :46:37.
around the table. The way the table display. | :46:38. | :47:15.
30. Keep our needed again. He needs to get this around two positions of | :47:16. | :47:29.
screw around the top side of the blue. Just wiped its feet. This side | :47:30. | :47:39.
is is -- this time it is top side of the blue. He will have to play the | :47:40. | :47:41.
yellow or pink. 32 points in front. He is bemused, isn't he? That is | :47:42. | :48:10.
what happens under pressure. Stuart Bingham, 33. He just went to | :48:11. | :48:41.
the well one too many times. 34 point lead is not enough whether | :48:42. | :48:42.
balls are. It was missable because he had to | :48:43. | :49:02.
play with pace, especially with the cloth playing a little bit slower. | :49:03. | :49:13.
He was fortunate not to leave Stuart something easier than this. | :49:14. | :49:25.
It is decision time for Stuart Bingham, does he try to protect his | :49:26. | :49:34.
lead? Does he push the boat out? He could do an attacking shot. I think | :49:35. | :49:43.
it is the former. Trying to keep the pressure on. Well, he has left a | :49:44. | :49:57.
long red here into the back left-hand pocket and it is just the | :49:58. | :50:00.
sort of shot that Kyren Wilson wants to take on. It is fraught with | :50:01. | :50:03.
danger obviously, and he needs to get this. | :50:04. | :50:14.
He was a long, long way away from that. It was one of those, he was 34 | :50:15. | :50:22.
points in front and there was no way in the world who would have played | :50:23. | :50:26.
it like that but at 34 behind he felt he had a chance to pinch the | :50:27. | :50:29.
frame so I don't blame you for having a go at that but missing it | :50:30. | :50:33.
by so far could have cost him the frame. | :50:34. | :50:48.
I have never seen anything like this in terms of both players overheating | :50:49. | :50:58.
or underhitting shots. You can play this delicately, this pink into the | :50:59. | :51:01.
middle because it will go back onto its own spot. If you play the slow | :51:02. | :51:09.
stun into the middle it will still be on the opposite corner. I | :51:10. | :51:15.
wouldn't even be surprised if he decided to play the snooker behind | :51:16. | :51:22.
the brown and off the commission. -- cushion. Foul. Ramis. Free ball, | :51:23. | :51:40.
Kyren Wilson. You have got to remember to reach the brown. | :51:41. | :51:51.
Relying on good fortune, has he got any? Not too bad, but it will be | :51:52. | :51:59.
interesting to see if the rest percentage stays the same. 12 out of | :52:00. | :52:06.
five at the moment and can it be six out of six and he can reach it with | :52:07. | :52:08.
the extension is cue? How is the cannon? Pretty good. Well | :52:09. | :52:53.
done. Six. Seven. Just bringing that red two or | :52:54. | :53:24.
three inches of the commission has given Cairo an excellent chance to | :53:25. | :53:29.
clear. With the red where it was it was definitely second favourite. -- | :53:30. | :53:35.
has given Kyren an excellent chance to clear. | :53:36. | :53:57.
12. It is not just about getting onto the next colour but getting | :53:58. | :54:09.
onto the next colour with a chance of dropping the final red. There is | :54:10. | :54:17.
another example of how this table is played. Back cue ball we would have | :54:18. | :54:21.
expected to be two feet further in the middle of the table than that. | :54:22. | :54:34.
A good pot. This table is playing very slow because the previous stunt | :54:35. | :54:46.
show that Kyren plate trying it on the black, he played with plenty of | :54:47. | :54:52.
pace but the cue ball just went nowhere. That black was really | :54:53. | :54:55.
missable and it was a very good pot underneath the circumstances. | :54:56. | :55:07.
It is another example of just how good Kyren Wilson is with the rest. | :55:08. | :55:26.
This was a red that Peter was talking about, look at how hard he | :55:27. | :55:32.
played it and just look at the White, it seemed to sink into that | :55:33. | :55:36.
top condition. He has retrieved the situation and has every chance now | :55:37. | :55:41.
of pinching the frame. This will really hurt Stuart Bingham. He could | :55:42. | :55:46.
have won the previous frame and he certainly was the strong favourite | :55:47. | :55:52.
to win this frame. Barring accidents, it is going to be 4-0. | :55:53. | :56:04.
29. The match has just come to the interval on the other table so there | :56:05. | :56:10.
is a little bit of movement which doesn't help the players. | :56:11. | :56:31.
Again, he seems to get into the cue ball there but he didn't get the | :56:32. | :56:36.
reaction all spin that he was looking for. | :56:37. | :56:46.
He will have to play this quite firm. It will be interesting to see | :56:47. | :56:55.
what sort of pacey event. He the pink. I am afraid that top cushion | :56:56. | :57:05.
just looks like a sponge at the moment. Hardly any reaction off that | :57:06. | :57:18.
top cushion. You have to take these on, don't you? If you want to play | :57:19. | :57:20.
safe. Game ball. He will be taking this into the | :57:21. | :57:33.
green pocket and he has the possibility of screwing this in with | :57:34. | :57:39.
the left hand side, of three conditions, possibly trying to get | :57:40. | :57:42.
the cue ball behind the black so there is an element of safety in | :57:43. | :57:48.
this shot as well. Very thin. That is an excellent shot. He dominated | :57:49. | :57:55.
this session and Bingham will be horrified and he is just sitting | :57:56. | :57:58.
there at the moment. He is going to play the black, but the frame is | :57:59. | :58:05.
over. Could quite easily have been 2-2 but it is not an Kyren Wilson | :58:06. | :58:12.
has played and won the opening four games and is in a strong position in | :58:13. | :58:13.
this match. Most players would be playing the | :58:14. | :58:49.
safety shot here but Kyren has taken this on the table has been playing | :58:50. | :58:53.
this morning he will have it is very hard. -- hit this very hard. Well, | :58:54. | :59:05.
he has not got away with it this time. | :59:06. | :59:18.
That is a nice opening red from Stuart Bingham. | :59:19. | :59:55.
It's a decent pot, this first red into the middle. But the red into | :59:56. | :00:04.
the middle again now. Really needs to make a sizeable break, just to | :00:05. | :00:10.
calm himself down. 33 is still his highest break. It's not that Kyren | :00:11. | :00:14.
is outplaying him at the moment, it's just that Stuart is missing. | :00:15. | :00:49.
We may get a chance to seal it in slow motion, he got a kick there. | :00:50. | :00:56.
The white did bounce when it hit the cue ball. | :00:57. | :01:03.
That was not lyrically horrendous kick. -- that was an absolutely | :01:04. | :01:13.
horrendous kick. When you are behind, that's just what you don't | :01:14. | :01:16.
want. That was by no fault of his own. And worse still, the red is | :01:17. | :01:21.
available and I think the black may be as well. We'll know after this | :01:22. | :01:29.
shot whether the black is available. Yes, he feels it is, so it must be. | :01:30. | :01:35.
With his shot on the Blackie brings both reds away from the black shot. | :01:36. | :02:47.
The fact that the pink at the moment has gone on to the black spot means | :02:48. | :02:54.
he doesn't have to go for the blue and bring the reds into play. | :02:55. | :03:07.
Somebody's earpieces a bit loud, can you please check them and turn them | :03:08. | :03:11.
down. Deep screw shot there with lots of | :03:12. | :03:26.
right-hand side. You see the side taking effect off | :03:27. | :03:34.
the cushion. As a red into the centre after this | :03:35. | :03:50.
pic. -- pink. Looks as if he's going for the blue, | :03:51. | :04:30.
after the red in the centre. Slightly underhit and has finished | :04:31. | :04:33.
straight on the red than he would like to. | :04:34. | :05:04.
This was the red that was stopping it going on the spot, I think. | :05:05. | :05:19.
Sometimes we talk about these tables, the cloth being so very | :05:20. | :05:24.
quick. We've known it's not so quick today. They talk about the Greens at | :05:25. | :05:34.
Augusta being very quick, very fast, I'll show you a gentleman in the | :05:35. | :05:37.
audience in a minute that's come back from Augusta. | :05:38. | :05:41.
Playing in the Masters, that's Brendan Taylor and his son next to | :05:42. | :05:55.
him. He manages Andy. He's a great, great player, and has come to watch | :05:56. | :05:57.
the snooker live at the Crucible. I presume the black pots, he'll take | :05:58. | :06:15.
the brown. He could even play the yellow, Peter, that's not a bad | :06:16. | :06:18.
choice. Yes. It will be a question of how the | :06:19. | :06:31.
cannon turns out. That will do very nicely. I red into the left corner. | :06:32. | :06:39.
Or the left centre. Going up for the blue here. This has | :06:40. | :06:59.
all come from that bit of an fortunate, Stuart Bingham's last | :07:00. | :07:02.
visit to the table. It will hurt him more than anything, | :07:03. | :07:12.
that these could and should have been all his. And horrendous kick, | :07:13. | :07:16.
that let Kyren in for this chance. That was another huge kick. It's | :07:17. | :07:48.
taken all the pace out of the cue ball. You see the cue ball jump. | :07:49. | :08:16.
Another example of how slow the table as again. He doesn't have to | :08:17. | :08:22.
do an awful lot with the cue ball, he's 51 points in front. Just the | :08:23. | :08:24.
red needed. Taking these well. Unlucky to have | :08:25. | :08:54.
had that and left Kyren this chance. He's had to sit there and suffer | :08:55. | :08:57.
now, and he knows he is somehow going to have to win at least tit of | :08:58. | :09:00.
the remaining three frames, if not all three. -- he has to win at least | :09:01. | :09:08.
two of the remaining three frames. He can't let someone of Kyren | :09:09. | :09:11.
Wilson's class get a 7-8 lead. Another excellent pot. The angle he | :09:12. | :09:39.
has on the pink, he could bring the two reds into play. No century, but | :09:40. | :09:46.
Kyren Wilson will be absolutely delighted. He's started playing very | :09:47. | :09:47.
well indeed. He now leads by 5-0. Kyren Wilson breaks off in frame | :09:48. | :10:06.
six. The match has come to an early end on the other table. They've got | :10:07. | :10:09.
this wonderful arena to themselves now. Stuart has been left the shot | :10:10. | :10:15.
to nothing. Under normal circumstances it would | :10:16. | :10:59.
have been difficult to hold for the blue from a cut like that. But | :11:00. | :11:04.
because this cloth is obviously playing considerably slower than the | :11:05. | :11:11.
previous cloth, he was able to hold for the blue there and played it | :11:12. | :11:12.
very well. What you tend to find when the cloth | :11:13. | :11:20.
is playing slower like this, just to move the cue ball around the table | :11:21. | :11:26.
the players end up having to play a series of either stun or very hard | :11:27. | :11:30.
stun shots when normally they would prefer to stroke the ball is as | :11:31. | :11:33.
smoothly as they could. These costs do throw and awful lot | :11:34. | :11:47.
with side, so you come through the cue ball off line and miss anything. | :11:48. | :11:51.
So it's challenging for both players, when the table is playing | :11:52. | :11:52.
slower. The other important aspects with | :11:53. | :12:00.
regard to that is the fact that when you hit the ball harder, obviously | :12:01. | :12:05.
the object balls are reaching the pockets with more pace, and that | :12:06. | :12:07.
makes the pockets play smaller. Slightly out of position, but played | :12:08. | :12:22.
that well. APPLAUSE | :12:23. | :12:44.
Very shortly, Kyren Wilson will be looking to leave himself an angle on | :12:45. | :12:50.
a colour to open up the pack of reds. | :12:51. | :13:23.
When the pink is just that in shots the pack, like it is now, would you | :13:24. | :13:30.
rather going to wait from the green or yellow, Peter? Definitely, | :13:31. | :13:33.
because there are also saw things that could happen. You could be | :13:34. | :13:36.
really lucky and hit the pink and the pink could slide off the pack if | :13:37. | :13:41.
you don't get a full contact on the pink. So even though the green here | :13:42. | :13:45.
is a little bit thinner than he would have liked. | :13:46. | :13:57.
He's taking the brown, he will have to hit this hard with lots of | :13:58. | :14:05.
right-hand side. Didn't quite... He would have preferred to have been on | :14:06. | :14:08.
the nice angle on the green, because the angle that he left himself on | :14:09. | :14:13.
the brown, he had to hit that really hard. Lots of right-hand side, | :14:14. | :14:18.
probably got too much side. So he'll be disappointed with that. | :14:19. | :14:33.
Short a of safety. -- short again of safety. | :14:34. | :14:51.
How on earth has he found the gap there between the pack of reds and | :14:52. | :14:58.
the pink? When things are going bad, you can only smile, can't you? It's | :14:59. | :15:02.
everything going wrong at the moment. Played the safety shot, red | :15:03. | :15:06.
into the pack and look at the red, straight through the gap and over | :15:07. | :15:09.
the corner pocket. It's not fair sometimes. | :15:10. | :15:23.
No real advantage in playing the pot on the blue here, purely because he | :15:24. | :15:47.
can't get onto a red. He may play the snooker behind the green. | :15:48. | :15:56.
Stewart is that it two points behind, so he'll be playing an | :15:57. | :16:01.
aggressive safety here, trying to bring back into play. The way his | :16:02. | :16:04.
luck is going at the moment, he wants to make sure red isn't over | :16:05. | :16:07.
the left-hand corner at the same time. | :16:08. | :16:19.
It's just not happening, just not happening. He can't enter shot | :16:20. | :16:22.
right. -- he can't hit a shot right. Another excellent pot. We keep | :16:23. | :16:55.
saying, when things are going right, but the pink into play. I suppose in | :16:56. | :17:03.
fairness, if you can cut them back into checks I don't come down this | :17:04. | :17:06.
side, he would be on all three reds. You can do the same off the pink. | :17:07. | :17:15.
He's found one into the opposite corner, has he? Must be won. | :17:16. | :17:22.
It just shows you, doesn't it, when you misjudge a shot, what can | :17:23. | :17:54.
happen. He thought the red was clearly available, but obviously not | :17:55. | :17:56.
quite as clear as he thought. Now then, Stuart, 39 points behind. | :17:57. | :18:07.
You've got to make a frame-winning break. | :18:08. | :19:40.
He's got to make sure he gets past the pink spot area if he decides to | :19:41. | :19:44.
play the pink. Maybe just plan to leave the cue | :19:45. | :19:58.
ball somewhere near the pink spot, so he has the reds in the middle. | :19:59. | :20:06.
This red obviously passes the pink, the bottom red of the three. You can | :20:07. | :20:11.
see it clearly it does. He's opened up the two reds to the | :20:12. | :20:20.
opposite corner. He has to be careful not to do | :20:21. | :20:32.
anything silly. This frame is here for the taking. | :20:33. | :20:49.
Just lost the cue ball touch there. It's a bit thinner than he would | :20:50. | :20:53.
have liked. The problem Stuart has got here is | :20:54. | :21:40.
he's got to go round the back of the black, I think and the way things | :21:41. | :21:43.
are going, he doesn't want to go anywhere near the black. He doesn't | :21:44. | :21:47.
want to risk playing into the black to get on the two reds. The pink has | :21:48. | :21:56.
to go on to its own spot, so maybe the red he can get onto is the one | :21:57. | :21:58.
he is nearest to now. He's just about got there, another | :21:59. | :22:13.
three or four inches of pace, very straightforward. All of a sudden | :22:14. | :22:17.
from being in prime position, he's having to do a few things with the | :22:18. | :22:18.
cue ball. That's a good shot. Choice of three | :22:19. | :22:26.
colours, yellow, blue or brown. This is the key shot, needs to go | :22:27. | :23:25.
round the back of the black. That was the problem. He never really in | :23:26. | :23:34.
the last 20 points off that break had the cue ball under control. | :23:35. | :24:02.
I know the balls were there for the taking but considering their way | :24:03. | :24:07.
things have gone for Stuart Bingham in this match, he did well to make | :24:08. | :24:09.
52. That's not a very good shot at all. | :24:10. | :24:21.
Perhaps fortunate that the red didn't end up in the pottable | :24:22. | :24:24.
position for Kyren into the right centre. Didn't get very good cue | :24:25. | :24:30.
ball where, Stuart. There may be some value in taking on | :24:31. | :24:49.
the cross table double here. Yes, a great effort, but this time | :24:50. | :25:17.
it's worked in Stuart Bingham's favour. You can see this red. I | :25:18. | :25:24.
don't blame Kyren at all for playing that shot the way he did. That was | :25:25. | :25:30.
about the only way it could have jawed Peter and left a pop on, the | :25:31. | :25:35.
way it finished. Yes, the reason I suggested that shot, it's almost | :25:36. | :25:38.
like a shot to nothing unless you get the result he did. It's very | :25:39. | :25:44.
rare you get that sort of outcome. Still, that's what happened. | :25:45. | :25:55.
Stuart Bingham will be mightily relieved. | :25:56. | :26:07.
Well, he'll be very relieved, knowing he needed two chances to win | :26:08. | :26:13.
this frame and luckily for him he got a second chance. | :26:14. | :26:18.
So Stuart Bingham made the highest break of the match for him so far, | :26:19. | :26:42.
the break of 52. He'll be a very relieved man to get a frame on the | :26:43. | :26:47.
board. Still two more to go, he trails 5-1. | :26:48. | :26:54.
Thank you, frame seven, Stuart Bingham to break. | :26:55. | :27:07.
He needs to break up better than that, doesn't he? Luckily he hasn't | :27:08. | :27:18.
left uneasily opening red. A schoolboy error, hitting the blue. | :27:19. | :27:56.
A nice opening pot from Stuart Bingham. | :27:57. | :28:13.
Laid the cannon well. May elect to leave himself an angle on the back | :28:14. | :28:30.
to go to the reds relieve himself high, | :28:31. | :28:33.
And all of a sudden, having got his first frame on the board, Stuart is | :28:34. | :29:06.
beginning to move around the table with his usual fluency. Played that | :29:07. | :29:13.
really well. That was an excellent shot. | :29:14. | :29:25.
24. Three reds, three blacks. He can certainly play this red to get onto | :29:26. | :29:35.
the black here, with the pink being out of commission you never know. | :29:36. | :29:38.
Whether he is playing well enough at this moment in time to hit the magic | :29:39. | :29:43.
number remains to be seen. These reds are nice. | :29:44. | :29:53.
It is great when you are in this position where you can play for a | :29:54. | :30:17.
choice of three reds out of one shot. That is after even thinking of | :30:18. | :30:20.
making a maximum, always leave yourself with a choice of shots, the | :30:21. | :30:24.
one in the middle and the one in the corner. Mr Speaker 32. -- 32. This | :30:25. | :30:32.
opens up some more threads. 33. 40. If you are thinking about the | :30:33. | :30:59.
maximum, finish low on the next black and plain to the cluster of | :31:00. | :31:02.
five and you will still be on the red at the bottom of the pack. He is | :31:03. | :31:11.
playing the other one. Now, will he played to screw into the pack again? | :31:12. | :31:17.
No need to of course, he can get on three reds but he will have to go | :31:18. | :31:20.
into them at some time. Not this time. I am sure now he will be | :31:21. | :31:42.
thinking of the 147. 48. 49. The problem, should he decide to go into | :31:43. | :31:47.
the little cluster of five now, he hasn't got a red that can come to | :31:48. | :31:54.
his rescue. He may play for the loose one. | :31:55. | :32:08.
He needed that white truffle, it is nowhere near where it played. 56. | :32:09. | :32:18.
Two feet short of where it was meant to be. | :32:19. | :32:29.
He may decide to play the thin red into the right centre but it is very | :32:30. | :32:41.
difficult. Taking the red into the left setter and he will be beyond | :32:42. | :32:47.
the black if this goes in. He has overcut it. Stuart Bingham, 56. He | :32:48. | :32:56.
will be disappointed, that was an excellent opportunity. | :32:57. | :33:39.
He is trying to decide if he will leave the white anywhere near the | :33:40. | :33:45.
left-hand corner pocket and whether Stuart can cut this in. | :33:46. | :34:15.
He has got to be careful here. Stuart is 56 points in front and he | :34:16. | :34:21.
doesn't want the referee to say in a couple of shots time that this is | :34:22. | :34:25.
going nowhere and they have a couple of shots each to play an aggressive | :34:26. | :34:30.
shot otherwise it will be a re-rack. Kyren Wilson will want a re-rack | :34:31. | :34:35.
because he is 56 points behind. That happened to me once when I was ahead | :34:36. | :34:40.
against Andy Hicks and in the evening session we were warned after | :34:41. | :34:44.
a few bits of tip tapping I ended up losing the frame. I was very | :34:45. | :34:58.
pleased. Yes, it is not the sort of thing that happens very often, but | :34:59. | :35:13.
it can do. It is a very big risk for Stuart to play the aggressive safety | :35:14. | :35:21.
shot. Whether he is prepared to do that will remain to be seen. This is | :35:22. | :35:31.
a huge frame. The difference between 6-1 and 5-2. As John Parrott quite | :35:32. | :35:44.
rightly said in the studio if Stuart Bingham can finish this session only | :35:45. | :35:52.
5-3 down, he really would feel that he had had a tremendous results, | :35:53. | :35:55.
given the way he has played so far. And you feel that it may well have | :35:56. | :36:33.
to be Stuart Bingham that plays the aggressive safety shot because | :36:34. | :36:39.
trailing by 56 points, Kyren Wilson will just keep rolling into the | :36:40. | :36:43.
reds, he will want there to be a re-rack and that is the last thing | :36:44. | :36:51.
in the world that Stuart once. -- wants. Stuart Cleverley took the | :36:52. | :36:58.
opportunity to push a red onto the side cushion there. That was a bit | :36:59. | :37:08.
of insurance. It was insurance against Cairo and getting a good | :37:09. | :37:14.
opportunity in this frame. -- against Kyren getting a good | :37:15. | :37:15.
opportunity in this frame. Kyren has left a pot on but it is | :37:16. | :37:38.
fraught with danger. Stuart has to be careful of pushing another red to | :37:39. | :37:41.
the commission but this is going nowhere at the moment. | :37:42. | :38:02.
Kyren is had a look to see if he can play a shot here and pop the red in | :38:03. | :38:08.
the middle. He needs to be very careful not to play a push-up. I | :38:09. | :38:12.
think that may well have been a push. He called one himself and that | :38:13. | :38:22.
was very kind of Kyren. He made the referee 's decision very easy by | :38:23. | :38:26.
calling the foul upon himself, well done to Kyren Wilson. The reason was | :38:27. | :38:33.
definitely a push-shot was because the white didn't even try to come | :38:34. | :38:37.
back off it. He put no spin on at all. A very relieved Stuart Bingham, | :38:38. | :38:45.
having had a great chance for a maximum a few moments ago, the key | :38:46. | :38:52.
thing was to win the frame and after one more red and colour he has done | :38:53. | :38:53.
just that. The frame is now clearly over. | :38:54. | :39:43.
Stuart Bingham has got that chance at Stephen Hendry was talking about, | :39:44. | :39:47.
the chance to get out of this session 5-3, and he will feel as | :39:48. | :39:51.
though he has won the session, trust me, because he was struggling as | :39:52. | :39:54.
much as we have ever seen him struggle here at the Crucible in the | :39:55. | :39:56.
opening four or five frames. 26. 27. 32. Stuart Bingham, 32 and the | :39:57. | :40:33.
frame. Are very relieved Stuart Bingham. He winds the seventh frame | :40:34. | :40:35.
and he trails now by 5-2. This really should be 5-3 now. Yes, | :40:36. | :41:07.
I was about to say, it is amazing how many times and interval changes | :41:08. | :41:10.
matches, but I just looked at the scoreboard and of course Kyren | :41:11. | :41:14.
Wilson came out after the interval made a break of 70 to do five in | :41:15. | :41:21.
front. The highest break for being at that particular time was 33 and | :41:22. | :41:24.
he has since made a break of 50 in each of the two frames and he has | :41:25. | :41:32.
every chance of making a sizeable contribution here, although the | :41:33. | :41:36.
black is out of play but the pink is available in all four high-scoring | :41:37. | :41:41.
pockets, the two middles and the four corners. That is what he will | :41:42. | :41:45.
be working on, just pink and blue and a great chance, as Peter just | :41:46. | :41:47.
said, to make it 5-3. 15. Ideally off the next two or | :41:48. | :42:51.
three reds you would like to play the green, just to get the green out | :42:52. | :42:53.
of the way. He is itching to play the green now, | :42:54. | :43:41.
isn't he, but working or not? He is playing it. It just makes it easier | :43:42. | :43:44.
and those reds there, having the green out of the way. Isn't it | :43:45. | :43:53.
strange, the peculiarities of the psychology of snooker? Kyren Wilson | :43:54. | :44:00.
will be very, very disappointed. If he only leads 5-3 at the end of this | :44:01. | :44:03.
session, and yet if you had given him 5-3 at the start, you would've | :44:04. | :44:09.
been delighted. Before a ball was patted, he would have taken it in a | :44:10. | :44:15.
heartbeat, wouldn't he. He you are quite right, this is a mind game | :44:16. | :44:19.
here and when you have 21 days ear of the utmost pressure you have to | :44:20. | :44:24.
go through little spells like this. Stuart Bingham now, as Stephen | :44:25. | :44:27.
Hendry and John Parrott were saying in the studio, if you have a bad | :44:28. | :44:33.
session, making a 5-3 session. He has had his bad session here and he | :44:34. | :44:35.
is going to come out 5-3. He will have to take his medicine | :44:36. | :45:42.
and play a good safety shot. So... He will be absolutely delighted if | :45:43. | :45:49.
he can finish this session only 5-3 behind. That young man will be very | :45:50. | :45:57.
disappointed. Just the one more red needed, so he is playing for | :45:58. | :46:02.
choices. Oh, you are killing me! Wow! Did he have a kick here? I | :46:03. | :46:14.
don't think so. Just tried to make sure he was getting on roads and he | :46:15. | :46:19.
misjudged it. But whether the black relatives and the reds where they | :46:20. | :46:23.
are he is still a massive favourite to win this frame. But he is going | :46:24. | :46:29.
to have to go through the ringer for a little while now rather than it be | :46:30. | :46:31.
plain sailing. Another very good shot with the rest | :46:32. | :47:11.
from Kyren Wilson, very, very strong in that apartment. 11 out of 11, | :47:12. | :47:25.
100%. Wow. You see the stats. Is is tough because he will have to play | :47:26. | :47:35.
this with pace. Wow, what a shot. Unfortunately he has finished | :47:36. | :47:40.
straight though. He would have loved an angle on this last red. The | :47:41. | :47:44.
second to last red, so he could just roll the red in come out for the | :47:45. | :47:48.
pink. I don't think there is any mileage in taking the red on but he | :47:49. | :47:52.
will play the snooker behind a red or the brown and probably behind the | :47:53. | :47:55.
green and there is every chance he could snooker Stuart on both reds. | :47:56. | :48:13.
You must make sure that you cover the red with the blue and a green | :48:14. | :48:25.
when he is moving Kyren Wilson, seven. That is not a good shot, you | :48:26. | :48:31.
can take the song, Stuart. 35 points in it. He will not be kissing the | :48:32. | :48:35.
red of the commission here what ever bad he hits this. -- he will not be | :48:36. | :48:46.
kissing the red off the cushion here however bad he hits this. He made | :48:47. | :48:54.
sure he was then and he gave himself absolutely no chance of dislodging | :48:55. | :49:01.
the other red from the commission. This is quite a tough safety shot | :49:02. | :49:06.
here, he is playing with a lot of right side. He has played that | :49:07. | :49:11.
really well. It is an excellent safety shot. Slightly short. On | :49:12. | :49:20.
pace. But very good. A good line. He would love to have a go at this, | :49:21. | :49:24.
Stuart, by the added problem is if he plays a ten Tors the red then the | :49:25. | :49:27.
red could scoot along the cushion and bring the other red into play so | :49:28. | :49:33.
I think this is one of the shots, even though it is frame ball, I | :49:34. | :49:44.
would refuse this one. Yes, refused it, for that reason probably. Does | :49:45. | :49:54.
Kyren play to plot the right and move it? He is a very attacking | :49:55. | :50:00.
player and he has just looked at it. The only problem with that shot is | :50:01. | :50:05.
that there is a possibility playing with this with pace that the cue | :50:06. | :50:15.
ball could stay where the readies. That is brilliant. That is | :50:16. | :50:19.
absolutely brilliant. He has been very, very unlucky. A wonderful pot, | :50:20. | :50:26.
taking the opportunity to move the red off the black cushion OK, he has | :50:27. | :50:32.
got a straight forward safety shot but he will be disappointed not to | :50:33. | :50:40.
be on a colour there. He has to play the brown full ball the brown on and | :50:41. | :50:45.
off the cushion and snooker him between the green and blue. The any | :50:46. | :50:52.
problem is he will need the last red. He better hope he misses the | :50:53. | :50:58.
snooker. He does have the opportunity to just bring the black | :50:59. | :51:04.
off the cushion and leave the snooker behind the pink. He is | :51:05. | :51:19.
looking at that now. I think that would be a very good shot the course | :51:20. | :51:26.
Stuart not only has to hit the red, he then has to leave it safe. He | :51:27. | :51:35.
just needs to avoid the double-kiss on the black here. Kyren Wilson, | :51:36. | :51:45.
one. Unfortunately for him he didn't avoid the double-kiss, but I still | :51:46. | :51:50.
think he is just got the snooker well, there is just a bit sneaking | :51:51. | :51:54.
out there. It wasn't a very good shot. Stuart can just click this | :51:55. | :52:00.
red. If he does clip it he will have to | :52:01. | :52:22.
play it pay silly because the red will be heading towards the middle | :52:23. | :52:26.
pocket and the fact that Kyren has brought the black of the cushion, | :52:27. | :52:29.
whatever happens he doesn't want to leave the red on in such a way that | :52:30. | :52:33.
is is possible to get a position on the black. He may even play the pot | :52:34. | :52:38.
here and bring it back into baulk. That is what he is doing, he has | :52:39. | :52:41.
played at across to the pocket but he better cover it up. Has he | :52:42. | :52:45.
covered it? It appears so. There is a possibility here, if | :52:46. | :53:11.
Kyren hits the cushion first he may be able to hit the back side of the | :53:12. | :53:15.
red and send the cue ball towards the green and brown. Hopefully for | :53:16. | :53:19.
him behind the brown. Yes, key to get the object ball | :53:20. | :53:31.
safe, it isn't here though. That's not bad. Obviously from that | :53:32. | :53:51.
shot he wasn't quite snookered, we didn't realise that he could | :53:52. | :53:57.
actually see the red. Under the circumstances it was a very good | :53:58. | :54:00.
shot, played with a lot of left side. He played to get the cue ball | :54:01. | :54:11.
behind the brown off of either three or four questions with depending on | :54:12. | :54:14.
whether the cue ball made contact with the baulk cushion. A tough | :54:15. | :54:21.
safety shot for Stuart here but he could play this was left inside and | :54:22. | :54:30.
send the right behind the black and the cue ball behind the brown. That | :54:31. | :54:36.
is what he has tried. It is a great effort, it is a great effort. Kyren | :54:37. | :54:47.
is in one of those situations where I don't know if he can hit this hard | :54:48. | :54:51.
enough to be able to stun the red and play the snooker behind the | :54:52. | :54:54.
black. If he can't do that he may have to be forced to playing the pot | :54:55. | :54:58.
which is on his side. The reason I say that is he is bound to get some | :54:59. | :55:03.
sort of shot on the black. Can he popped it? The White will be someone | :55:04. | :55:09.
in the blue spot if he plays tap pace but this is going to be tough | :55:10. | :55:13.
to get safe if he doesn't hit in full in the face. He could be | :55:14. | :55:19.
playing the snooker behind the black here. I don't think he's hit that | :55:20. | :55:21.
quite hard enough. He has left an easy snooker and the | :55:22. | :55:35.
red may pass up black into the Green pocket but almost certainly. Would | :55:36. | :55:39.
you play the pot or the snooker? I would play the snooker. It looks | :55:40. | :55:50.
like he is playing the pot. And it is there. For a delighted Stuart | :55:51. | :55:56.
Bingham that should be frame ball. Perhaps that is one of the reasons | :55:57. | :56:02.
that Stuart beat me 10-5 in first round. To negative! That is very | :56:03. | :56:12.
well done barring snooker Stuart Bingham has done the miracle and he | :56:13. | :56:17.
has got out of the session trailing 5-3. Are fighting performance on | :56:18. | :56:21.
Stuart Bingham and he finds himself only two frames behind going into | :56:22. | :56:25.
the second section at 10am this morning. They will also finish that | :56:26. | :56:29.
match this evening. We will be on the air at 10am sharp to see the | :56:30. | :56:34.
next eight frames played. I hope you can enjoy us -- I hope you can join | :56:35. | :56:38.
us but in the meantime you better get some sleep. Good night. | :56:39. | :57:02.
I've had enough of this! A man's dead! | :57:03. | :57:07.
No need to shout. I'm sorry. | :57:08. | :57:09.
and I'm ordering a justice burger for two. | :57:10. | :57:13.
Oh, my God, they've got guns. | :57:14. | :57:16.
I'm game... Then let's go commando. | :57:17. | :57:19. |
