teens. Some dry weather now and again. Thank you very | :00:00. | :00:10.
been reported since September. Tonight, a special edition of BBC | :00:11. | :00:13.
London News, live from The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park ` renamed and | :00:14. | :00:16.
about to re`open to the public tomorrow. Coming up between now and | :00:17. | :00:21.
7:00pm: Prince Harry tests out the Park ` as | :00:22. | :00:26.
he joins the Mayor on the eve of the official opening. The amount of | :00:27. | :00:34.
money that has been spent, and the creativity, it has brought it to | :00:35. | :00:37.
life. Members of the public have a chance to come through here. The | :00:38. | :00:41.
kids, they adore it. We show you what's on offer ` and | :00:42. | :00:44.
hear from those already making the most of the Olympic venues. I just | :00:45. | :00:51.
feel like I am one of the Olympic athletes and there is a crowd | :00:52. | :00:53.
cheering me on. Also tonight: | :00:54. | :00:55.
Inspectors are sent by the Government following allegations of | :00:56. | :00:58.
fraud and financial mismanagement at Tower Hamlets Council. | :00:59. | :01:02.
Plus, captured on camera ` the lifeboat crew in a dramatic night | :01:03. | :01:04.
time rescue on the Thames. Good evening and welcome live to the | :01:05. | :01:32.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It was here, in the stadium behind me, that | :01:33. | :01:35.
the capital welcomed the world with the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 | :01:36. | :01:39.
Games. 18 months on, no security checks, no Olympic volunteers and a | :01:40. | :01:42.
new look to some of these world class venues. From tomorrow the | :01:43. | :01:47.
capital's newest park ` all 560 acres of it ` will officially open | :01:48. | :01:52.
to the public. It's perhaps as significant a day for the people of | :01:53. | :01:56.
east London as the Olympics itself. From tomorrow, this is their park. | :01:57. | :02:02.
And today on the eve of that opening, Prince Harry and the Mayor | :02:03. | :02:05.
came to see it for themselves Our political correspondent, Karl | :02:06. | :02:07.
Mercer, reports on today's "Royal reception" and the regeneration of | :02:08. | :02:08.
this once derelict wasteland. Royal etiquette, east London style ` | :02:09. | :02:23.
Prince Harry pretty much doing what he was told by local primary school | :02:24. | :02:27.
kids this morning. He even got the hurry`up on the rope bridge. All | :02:28. | :02:33.
right! But he wasn't the only one blocking up the bridge. Boris, | :02:34. | :02:36.
Boris! This playground is part of the new look Olympic Park. The | :02:37. | :02:41.
amount of money that has been spent and the creativity, it has brought | :02:42. | :02:45.
it to life. As of the public have a chance to come here, and the kids, | :02:46. | :02:50.
they adore it. But in a way, this is the easy end of the job. True legacy | :02:51. | :02:54.
will be judged on the homes and jobs that come to this part of town. This | :02:55. | :02:58.
bike firm won a contract during the Games and has built up business near | :02:59. | :03:04.
the park. I have been for a swim in the Aquatics Centre, I have been to | :03:05. | :03:10.
the velodrome. For me, the legacy of the 2012 games starts now. | :03:11. | :03:14.
Everything is open and we can start using it as a community and as | :03:15. | :03:19.
residents. Nearby, perhaps a bigger example of the Olympic boost ` the | :03:20. | :03:22.
giant Westfield shopping centre. And the Olympic Village, too, is now | :03:23. | :03:25.
starting to fill up with Londoners. A new community is starting to be | :03:26. | :03:28.
born here. I used to live in Hackney. Hackney has got quite | :03:29. | :03:33.
expensive now. It is very busy. At night time there is a lot of noise. | :03:34. | :03:37.
This was such a quiet, peaceful area, there is a lot of green space. | :03:38. | :03:41.
But the shiny sides of legacy has not reached all parts of Stratford. | :03:42. | :03:44.
The Carpenters Estate sits in the shadow of the park and has been | :03:45. | :03:47.
under threat. Mary Finch has lived here for 43 years. You know what I | :03:48. | :03:53.
said, let's be part of this legacy. Let us be the ones to say, we were | :03:54. | :04:01.
here when it was on. Don't destroy something that is good. You know? | :04:02. | :04:08.
Because it is. I wouldn't live anywhere else. This is mine, this is | :04:09. | :04:14.
where I am staying. I am going nowhere. The number of homes planned | :04:15. | :04:23.
for the park has been cut by 1,000. Targets for affordable homes have | :04:24. | :04:30.
also been cut. A price worth paying, says the Mayor, to try and attract | :04:31. | :04:35.
businesses instead. You could max out on housing but in this part of | :04:36. | :04:39.
London there are lots of good sites for housing. You want to capitalise | :04:40. | :04:42.
on the success of the Olympics and drive forward job creation and | :04:43. | :04:55.
create an economic attraction. It may be that the youngster who played | :04:56. | :04:58.
in the park this morning will be the ultimate judges of Olympic legacy, | :04:59. | :05:01.
when they are looking for homes and work. Well joining me now is Sir | :05:02. | :05:05.
Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham and Olympic Ambassador and east London | :05:06. | :05:07.
resident Humaira Ahmed Patel. Welcome to you both. A really big | :05:08. | :05:21.
day for Newham but what is good for Newham may not be good for the | :05:22. | :05:26.
people of Newham. Jobs and homes are the key things we have to have four | :05:27. | :05:29.
people. We have got 20 2000 people into work through our workplace | :05:30. | :05:35.
programme `` 22,000 people. You could argue we need more support | :05:36. | :05:37.
from government to keep that happening. We have to make sure that | :05:38. | :05:42.
the homes are right for local people. That means affordable. That | :05:43. | :05:47.
is why we have set up a company to do exactly that, to build homes for | :05:48. | :05:50.
local people so we are not priced out of the market. We have a local | :05:51. | :05:56.
person right here. Do you feel you could afford to live on the Olympic | :05:57. | :05:59.
Park in a place like this question might you have grown up here. | :06:00. | :06:03.
Hearing about the initiatives that are taking place, within time, it is | :06:04. | :06:07.
possible. If I wanted to live here... The measures will be put | :06:08. | :06:12.
into place for that to happen. You hope so. You are nodding... I am | :06:13. | :06:19.
agreeing. Do you feel you should have lobbied for more affordable | :06:20. | :06:24.
homes on the part itself? The Olympic village has got a lot of | :06:25. | :06:27.
affordable homes. This government has cut subsidies to housing, if you | :06:28. | :06:31.
cut subsidies to social housing you will have less affordable housing. | :06:32. | :06:34.
They are consciously and deliberately taking social housing | :06:35. | :06:39.
away. With the discount policy on existing council housing, we are | :06:40. | :06:43.
losing council housing every day. You are right, I am very angry about | :06:44. | :06:47.
it and I do lobbied and I think the next Labour government will change | :06:48. | :06:53.
it. You were one of the youngest children that went out to Singapore | :06:54. | :06:58.
as part of the bid team. Here we are, looking around us now, what a | :06:59. | :07:02.
journey of must have been for you. It has been an immense journey. When | :07:03. | :07:07.
I was picked to go to Singapore, I was 13. Now I am 22. It is nearly | :07:08. | :07:13.
ten years on and there has been aged man tick change within the area and | :07:14. | :07:16.
the atmosphere, everything about Stratford has changed. Do you feel | :07:17. | :07:26.
proud? Yes, very proud. These are the very sorts of people that should | :07:27. | :07:29.
benefit from something like this. Look at what we have got committed | :07:30. | :07:33.
fantastic, there are more jobs and homes coming. We have to make sure | :07:34. | :07:37.
it works for local people. We will revisit that in a year, thank you | :07:38. | :07:42.
very much. A very big day for Newham. Well let's focus on the park | :07:43. | :07:46.
itself for a moment. The transformation of the area has taken | :07:47. | :07:49.
over 18 months with some of the venues undergoing multi`million | :07:50. | :07:57.
pound make overs. Of course, the most recognisable venue in the park | :07:58. | :08:01.
is the Olympic Stadium. It won't be open to the public until the summer | :08:02. | :08:05.
of 2016, then it becomes the new home of Westland United football | :08:06. | :08:10.
club and the national competition centre for athletics `` West Ham | :08:11. | :08:16.
United football club. The Aquatics Centre open to the public in March | :08:17. | :08:20.
this year and anyone can come for a swim as ?3 50, around the same cost | :08:21. | :08:24.
as your local pool, but booking is recommended. The Lea Valley Park is | :08:25. | :08:31.
the first in the world to offer four types of cycling in one place. | :08:32. | :08:35.
Members of the public can book taster sessions in track cycling, | :08:36. | :08:40.
BMX and mountain biking. And not forgetting the Orbit. Tickets to go | :08:41. | :08:47.
to the top of the UK's sculpture `` UK's tallest sculpture can be booked | :08:48. | :08:54.
from ?15. There is a kind of quiet, calm atmosphere of anticipation. I | :08:55. | :08:57.
imagine from tomorrow, it will be very different. So if you're | :08:58. | :09:00.
planning a visit, what can you expect? Tarah Welsh has been taking | :09:01. | :09:07.
a closer look at the Olympic transformation. | :09:08. | :09:10.
This venue has had the biggest transformation since the games. The | :09:11. | :09:14.
seats have come down and out you can see the stingray design. This isn't | :09:15. | :09:19.
your average local pool, the best swimmers in the world have won | :09:20. | :09:23.
medals here. Since being opened to the public, more than 50,000 people | :09:24. | :09:27.
have come here. Local schoolchildren even have their lessons here. It is | :09:28. | :09:32.
really fun swimming in the Olympic pool, it makes me feel like I am in | :09:33. | :09:37.
the Olympics. With just 6000 seats, these tickets were tough to get | :09:38. | :09:40.
during the Olympics in the velodrome. Now anyone can have a go | :09:41. | :09:44.
on the track where Chris Foy won his final gold medal. It is a bit scary | :09:45. | :09:49.
to begin with, we provide the coach and the bikes and it is all | :09:50. | :09:53.
supervised. Before long you will be up on the boards like Chris Foy and | :09:54. | :10:00.
Victoria Pendleton. How affordable do you think it is? We are | :10:01. | :10:06.
comparable with going to a football Game one of the London attractions. | :10:07. | :10:09.
It is not just the venue that will be pulling people in, this park | :10:10. | :10:13.
opens to the public from tomorrow. There is plenty to see the because | :10:14. | :10:17.
this is the biggest part to open in London for a century. You are the | :10:18. | :10:22.
man behind the design of London's newest part, what was the initial | :10:23. | :10:30.
vision? `` newest park. It was to transform a derelict piece of land | :10:31. | :10:32.
into something green, lush, living but also a place for people. It was | :10:33. | :10:37.
some little people that got the first look. The park is awesome, | :10:38. | :10:42.
everybody should come. It is Rudy cool, actually. There are loads of | :10:43. | :10:47.
famous people like Usain Bolt came the `` really cool. You had one of | :10:48. | :10:52.
the most exciting jobs before big aims. How does this compare? It | :10:53. | :10:57.
can't be as exciting `` before the Games. Nothing could be as exciting | :10:58. | :11:03.
but it feels you are part of history. The longer you spend here, | :11:04. | :11:07.
the more in touch UI with the local people. There are permanent jobs | :11:08. | :11:14.
which could mean literally going up in the world. `` the more in touch | :11:15. | :11:20.
UI with. My favourite bit is being able to come in a cape with the | :11:21. | :11:25.
customers who are getting excited. My friends think it is awesome. | :11:26. | :11:36.
At ?15 for an adult, some have said the price is too high. From here you | :11:37. | :11:42.
can see right across the park. During the Olympics, teams of people | :11:43. | :11:49.
came here. The question is, can this park continue to attract Londoners | :11:50. | :11:54.
and people from across the world in the future. | :11:55. | :12:01.
Let's talk to someone who has spent the day putting the finishing | :12:02. | :12:08.
touches to the park. Welcome Dr Phil Askew, Head of Parklands. A very | :12:09. | :12:13.
grand title. This has been a labour of love for you since 2008? Yes. It | :12:14. | :12:19.
has been a privilege to work on this project for all these years. I have | :12:20. | :12:23.
been lucky enough to work on the design of the park, to work with | :12:24. | :12:27.
fantastic teams of contractors and designers, project managers, to put | :12:28. | :12:33.
this place together. We can see some wonderful duffle deals behind us but | :12:34. | :12:37.
the part looks different `` wonderful daffodils. It is not in | :12:38. | :12:43.
full bloom. It does look different, it is April, things are starting to | :12:44. | :12:48.
grow. We have had a fantastic spring and the weather is warming up. In | :12:49. | :12:52.
the next four to six weeks, people coming into the park will see a real | :12:53. | :12:56.
change in the place. We have the daffodils, spring is on its way but | :12:57. | :13:01.
it is not quite here yet. Your top tip, what should horticultural | :13:02. | :13:05.
enthusiasts look out for? Crumbs! There are so many great things. I | :13:06. | :13:09.
think they should do two things. They should come to the newly opened | :13:10. | :13:15.
south of the park where there are some fantastic planting design by a | :13:16. | :13:20.
Dutchman, one of the most famous landing designers in the world. It | :13:21. | :13:25.
would be great to see. In the North Meadows, which were great during big | :13:26. | :13:29.
aims, they are starting to come back into life again `` great during the | :13:30. | :13:35.
Games. Thank you for your time, good luck tomorrow. For now, stay with | :13:36. | :13:38.
us, because there is plenty more to come before 7:00pm. I have been at | :13:39. | :13:45.
the Aquatics Centre to meet Tom Daley's new diving coach who hopes | :13:46. | :13:49.
to take him from bronze at London 2012 to gold in Rio. And I am even | :13:50. | :13:54.
higher over the pool, bringing you the weather from the top of the | :13:55. | :13:58.
orbit. I can see fresh Atlanta guerre coming for the weekend. Does | :13:59. | :14:03.
that mean sunshine? I will tell you in the forecast later. So join us | :14:04. | :14:16.
for more from the Park later in the programme. But now let's catch up | :14:17. | :14:19.
with some the rest of the day's news with Alex in the studio. Government | :14:20. | :14:22.
inspectors are to examine allegations in Tower Hamlets of | :14:23. | :14:25.
governance failure, poor financial management and fraud. It comes after | :14:26. | :14:29.
a BBC Panorama investigation into the East London borough scrutinised | :14:30. | :14:32.
the spending records of its Mayor, Lutfur Rahman. The council says it | :14:33. | :14:36.
welcomes the inspection and has done nothing wrong. Pressure is mounting | :14:37. | :14:52.
on Lutfur Rahman, following scrutiny of his spending in a BBC panorama | :14:53. | :14:55.
programme this week. Investigators are to examine allegations of | :14:56. | :15:01.
governance failure, poor financial management and fraud. Inspectors | :15:02. | :15:09.
reportedly arrived at the Town Hall at around 8am. Panorama obtained the | :15:10. | :15:15.
spending records and claimed they were revealed that an gaudy and | :15:16. | :15:21.
Somali organisations have been disproportionately benefiting from | :15:22. | :15:25.
public money to shore up votes for Lutfur Rahman. He refuted all | :15:26. | :15:30.
allegations that the council spending was improper. You have more | :15:31. | :15:34.
than doubled the grant officers recommended to Ben Pauley and Somali | :15:35. | :15:50.
organisations. `` Bengali. The allegation is untrue. Eric Pickles | :15:51. | :15:59.
says serious concerns have been raised. | :16:00. | :16:04.
We have been told we are no longer allowed to film outside the Town | :16:05. | :16:11.
Hall and security have asked us to leave the gated premises. We'll soon | :16:12. | :16:15.
understand that, on Sunday, there will be an anti`BBC demonstration | :16:16. | :16:22.
held here. `` we also understand. Tower Hamlets says it welcomes the | :16:23. | :16:30.
opportunity to demonstrate processes have been Brown appropriately. `` | :16:31. | :16:36.
run appropriately. The serial killer who murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler | :16:37. | :16:39.
has been awarded a ?4,400 pay`out after being assaulted in prison. | :16:40. | :16:42.
Levi Bellfield was attacked by a fellow prisoner in 2009 before he | :16:43. | :16:45.
went on trial for the murder of the 13`year`old. The Ministry of Justice | :16:46. | :16:49.
said it is hugely disappointed by the judge's decision. The capital is | :16:50. | :16:52.
still suffering moderate levels of air pollution with forecasters | :16:53. | :16:56.
predicting they could fall further. Data showed pollution levels had | :16:57. | :16:58.
dropped from the maximum ten on Thursday to mainly low and moderate | :16:59. | :17:02.
levels. Yesterday, the London Ambulance Service saw a 34% increase | :17:03. | :17:13.
in patients with breathing problems. Metropolitan police officers said | :17:14. | :17:18.
they are living in a culture of fear because of the Draconian years of | :17:19. | :17:21.
performance targets. The Police Federation surveyed 250 officers and | :17:22. | :17:23.
found they felt under a constant threat because of what it called | :17:24. | :17:26.
meaningless and unrealistic targets. Tom Symonds reports. When it comes | :17:27. | :17:33.
to setting targets for the police, the Government says it has just one, | :17:34. | :17:40.
cut crime. The country 's biggest force, the net, has insisted it has | :17:41. | :17:46.
no policy of setting targets for arrests and stop and search. Today | :17:47. | :17:50.
the Metropolitan Police Federation has claimed hitting numbers is a | :17:51. | :17:54.
very real pressure on members. This is the sort of e`mail which the | :17:55. | :17:59.
federation says is circulating among police managers. It mentions | :18:00. | :18:04.
targets. And search and how each officer is doing. This one has an | :18:05. | :18:08.
arrest rate below 10%, which need to improve and not be so reliant on | :18:09. | :18:13.
drug searches. Another has a fantastic arrest rate. This one has | :18:14. | :18:18.
made no arrests. The federation says, despite the official policy, | :18:19. | :18:24.
there are unwritten targets would officers are pushed to meet. It is a | :18:25. | :18:28.
culture where they are stressed, pressurised, bullied. They are taken | :18:29. | :18:33.
to misconduct procedures when they do not hit specific targets. It is | :18:34. | :18:37.
right that performance is measured but there are different ways of | :18:38. | :18:42.
measurement. This report draws on the account of just 250 officers out | :18:43. | :18:49.
of The Met 's 30,000. Scotland Yard said if local managers are setting | :18:50. | :18:53.
targets, they should not be. We do not condone it. We recognise there | :18:54. | :18:57.
are some places where we need to coach people on how to get the best | :18:58. | :19:04.
out of teams. My officers do a great job every day to protect the public. | :19:05. | :19:10.
Cuts to police numbers and changes to pay and conditions have | :19:11. | :19:13.
contributed to a climate of unrest among some officers. Today's report | :19:14. | :19:19.
from London rank and file goes further, describing it as a climate | :19:20. | :19:25.
of fear. A lifeboat on the Thames has been involved in a dramatic | :19:26. | :19:35.
rescue. The RNLI has released pictures of their crew who were | :19:36. | :19:39.
called to a man clinging to a barge near HMS Belfast. It is thought he | :19:40. | :19:44.
entered the water to help another person. The RNLI, assisted by The | :19:45. | :19:47.
Met and the London Fire Brigade, searched the area but a second | :19:48. | :19:50.
person was not found. Well, that's all from me. Now back to Riz in | :19:51. | :19:55.
Stratford. Welcome back to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We are here | :19:56. | :20:00.
ahead of its reopening to the public tomorrow. This playground I am | :20:01. | :20:09.
standing in is very quiet now. I imagine it will be hugely busy | :20:10. | :20:12.
tomorrow. Now, one of the venues which has gone through a huge | :20:13. | :20:15.
transformation is the eye`catching Aquatics Centre. It has already | :20:16. | :20:18.
become home to diver Tom Daley, who won an Olympic bronze there. He has | :20:19. | :20:21.
now moved to Stratford and is working with a new coach looking | :20:22. | :20:24.
beyond 2012 to Rio in two years' time. Sara Orchard has been to meet | :20:25. | :20:33.
her. The Aquatic Centre set the scene for Tom Daley to win bronze at | :20:34. | :20:40.
the London 2012 games. It is a good one. Having left his hometown of | :20:41. | :20:49.
Plymouth, he has moved to Stratford and working with a new coach. She | :20:50. | :20:58.
has moved to London as well. Having left Houston and everything I love | :20:59. | :21:02.
and everything I was very happy about, I do not think I could have | :21:03. | :21:06.
come here without thinking we had a chance to win. I love him, I love | :21:07. | :21:14.
working with him. I take the chance of winning a gold medal very | :21:15. | :21:18.
seriously. I am on the spot where Tom Daley won bronze at the London | :21:19. | :21:23.
2012 Olympic Games. Come the end of this month, the world 's best divers | :21:24. | :21:27.
will all be back here at the Aquatic Centre for the London leg of the | :21:28. | :21:36.
world diving series. `` the Olympic champion means pressure is on Tom | :21:37. | :21:41.
Daley to perform in front of his home crowd. Tom and I, we both want | :21:42. | :21:51.
to show off. Ahead of the park fully opening, Jane is keen to show off | :21:52. | :22:01.
her workplace. This is probably the best job on the planet. We live in | :22:02. | :22:06.
Stratford. We bike to work every day. People just need to come out. I | :22:07. | :22:11.
have watched a lot of people coming in the last few months and there is | :22:12. | :22:15.
more and more. I tell you, when I walk past those people, they are | :22:16. | :22:20.
just happy. When you are a coach, do you get your costume on and have a | :22:21. | :22:26.
go again? You have to be crazy to go up here. Crazy maybe that Tom Daley | :22:27. | :22:32.
has taken the plunge to move to London because of the facilities on | :22:33. | :22:35.
offer and one of the best diving coaches in the world. And Sara joins | :22:36. | :22:40.
me for all the sport. And diving isn't the only world`class event we | :22:41. | :22:48.
can expect here. For anyone who did not get tickets for the Olympics, | :22:49. | :22:51.
plenty to get your teeth into. We mentioned the diving at the end of | :22:52. | :22:56.
the month. In 2016 it will be hosting the Europeans winning | :22:57. | :22:59.
championships. There is a whole area to the north of the park which was | :23:00. | :23:03.
not used during the Olympics but it was used during the Paralympics. The | :23:04. | :23:09.
tennis centre opens next month. That will be hosting three international | :23:10. | :23:16.
tournaments in 2016 /2017/2018. Stadium behind us has the world | :23:17. | :23:20.
athletics Championships. Do not forget the Rugby World Cup. The | :23:21. | :23:27.
stadium is currently the only place the public cannot go into. It is | :23:28. | :23:35.
still having a West Ham make over. Some of the players got a | :23:36. | :23:38.
behind`the`scenes tour of the park. Needless to say, they were very | :23:39. | :23:44.
impressed. Let's move on to rugby because Saracens are in Northern | :23:45. | :23:48.
Ireland this weekend. It is the Heineken Cup. They will be playing | :23:49. | :23:53.
Ulster in the Heineken Cup. On top of that, it will be at Ravenhill. It | :23:54. | :23:58.
is a reverse of the fixture when Oster came here last year. There is | :23:59. | :24:05.
a lot for Saracens to live up to. `` Aalst. It means that ultimately | :24:06. | :24:11.
Saracens will have a difficult task but they will be going in as | :24:12. | :24:15.
favourites. Going back to this weekend, if anyone is out and about | :24:16. | :24:19.
on Sunday in and around Central London, do not forget it is the boat | :24:20. | :24:23.
race. It is Oxford against Cambridge, for anyone who does not | :24:24. | :24:27.
know. Oxford won last year but apparently they had a slightly | :24:28. | :24:32.
lighter `` they have a slightly lighter crew. It is between Mortlake | :24:33. | :24:40.
and Putney. It starts in Putney. The race gets under way just before 6pm. | :24:41. | :24:44.
If you cannot get there, do not worry, it is on BBC One. A very busy | :24:45. | :24:52.
day but a fun day. On that note, how is the weather looking for the boat | :24:53. | :24:55.
race and tomorrow's opening of the park? Wendy has an excellent view | :24:56. | :25:01.
and luckily she is not afraid of heights. | :25:02. | :25:06.
I am at the top of the orbit as the sun begins to set across London | :25:07. | :25:15.
behind me. What a fantastic view it is from up here. I can see quite | :25:16. | :25:20.
some distance. We have a lot of fresh, Atlantic air which has | :25:21. | :25:24.
arrived as we head into the weekend. That of course is lowering | :25:25. | :25:28.
the pollution levels all the time. We can breathe a bit easier this | :25:29. | :25:32.
evening. It has reduced the haze that has hung over London and the | :25:33. | :25:36.
Home Counties through the last few days. You might be able to see | :25:37. | :25:40.
behind me a few sparkles of sunshine picking out some of the buildings. | :25:41. | :25:46.
We have seen some breaks in the cloud this afternoon and they | :25:47. | :25:49.
continue this evening and into the night. All the time the winds will | :25:50. | :25:53.
turn to or south`westerly direction. They will fall light in the middle | :25:54. | :25:58.
of the night. You could encounter a fog patch if you are heading around | :25:59. | :26:02.
the capital and the Home Counties. More cloud will move in from the | :26:03. | :26:06.
south`west as we go through the early hours of the morning. That is | :26:07. | :26:10.
a warm front which will stick with us tomorrow. Temperatures under the | :26:11. | :26:14.
clearer skies will get to six, seven Celsius cooler than previous nights. | :26:15. | :26:18.
We start Saturday with the warm front. Lots of cloud around. | :26:19. | :26:24.
Sunshine is at a premium tomorrow. Grey skies into the afternoon. The | :26:25. | :26:29.
wind is picking up all the time from south`westerly direction that | :26:30. | :26:32.
temperatures should get to 15, 16 degrees. If you are heading here to | :26:33. | :26:37.
see their newest park through Saturday, there will be just about | :26:38. | :26:41.
dry conditions with the chance of some patchy rain towards the end of | :26:42. | :26:46.
the day. By the time we get to Sunday, and for the boat race this | :26:47. | :26:50.
is worth noting, some rain will set in through the morning. It will turn | :26:51. | :26:55.
heavy in the afternoon before it becomes showery. It will be blustery | :26:56. | :27:00.
and cooler. The rain is still with us on Monday. High pressure building | :27:01. | :27:08.
on Tuesday and hype that is my prep and the fine weather returns. You | :27:09. | :27:13.
can see more on the news on the website. That is it from us tonight | :27:14. | :27:18.
at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which reopens to the public | :27:19. | :27:22.
tomorrow. Thank you for watching and have a lovely. Goodbye. | :27:23. | :27:24. |
