Good evening. Prince Harry and the mayor have spent the day at the

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the eve of its official opening

tomorrow. 18 months ago, the park was at the centre of the world as

the opening ceremony of the 2012 Games got under way.

Royal etiquette East End style. Prince marry doing as he was told by

the kids this morning. He even got the hurry up on the rope bridge. All

right! He wasn't the only one blocking up

the bridge. This playground is part of the

new`look Olympic Park. The amount of money this's been spent and the

creativity, it's brought to it life. The members of the public get a

chance to come through here and the kids obviously absolute absolutely

adore it. In a way, this is the easy end of the job. True legacy will be

judged on the homes and jobs that come to this part of town.

This bike firm won a contract during the Games and has built up business

near the park since. Been for a swim in the Aquatics Centre, inside the

velodrome, so for me, the legacy of the 2012 Games starts now really

because everything is open and we can start using it as a community

and residents. Nearby perhaps a bigger example of the boost, the

giant Westfield shopping centre and the Olympic village too is now

starting to fill up. A new community starting to be born.

I used to live in Hackney and it's got quite expensive now. It's very

busy. At night`time there's a lot of noise. This is such a quiet peaceful

area, a lot of green space. The shiny sides of legacy haven't

reached all parts of Stratford. This area has not seen much regeneration.

I said, let's be part of this legacy. Let us be the ones to say,

you know, we were here when it was on. Don't destroy something that's

good. You know? Because it is. I wouldn't live anywhere else. This is

mine, this is where I'm staying. I'm going nowhere.

The number of homes planned for the park has been cut by 1,000. Targets

for affordable housing have also been cut, a price worth paying says

the mayor to try and attract businesses instead. The trade`off is

going to be, look, you could just max out on housing but, on the other

hand, in this part of London, there are lots of good sites for housing.

What you want is to capitalise on the success of the Olympics and

drive forward job creation and create an economic pull of

attraction. It may be that the youngster who is

played in the park this morning will be the ultimate judges of Olympic

legacy when they are look ing looking for homes and Joshing.

Metropolitan police officers say they are living in a culture of fear

because of the Draconian use of performance targets `` looks for

homes and jobs. 250 officers said they felt under threat because of

unrealistic and meaningless targets. Scotland Yard denies there is a

culture of bullying. The serial killer who murdered Milly

Dowler has been awarded a ?4,500 payout after being assaulted in

prison. Levi Bellfield was attacked by a prisoner in 2009 before he went

on trial for the murder to have 13`year`old. The Ministry of Justice

says it's hugely disappointed by the judge's decision. The capital is

still suffering moderate levels of air pollution. Data showed pollution

levels dropped from the maximum ten on Thursday to mainly low and

moderate levels. Yesterday, the London ambulance service saw a 34%

increase in patients with breathing problems.

Government inspectors are to examine allegations in Tower Hamlets of

governance failure, poor financial management and fraud after a

Panorama investigation into the East London borough scrutinised the work

of its mayor. Pressure is mounting on Tower

Hamlets controversial mayor Mr Rahman following scrutiny of his

spending in a BBC Panorama programme this week. Investigators will

examine allegations of governance failure, poor financial management

and fraud since Mr Rahman became the First Directly elected Asian Mayor

in October 2010. Inspectors reportedly arrived at the Town Hall

at around 8am. Panorama obtained the council's spending records and claim

they reveal that Bengali and Somali organisations have been benefitting

unusually. Mr Rahman refuted all allegations that the council's

spending is improper. You have more than doubled the grant recommended

to Bengali and Somali recommendations and cut many others

to pay for it. That's why the opposition say this is as much about

electoral advantage as it may be about need. What do you say to that?

Sunday, there'll be an anti`BBC demonstration held here. We have a

statement from Tower Hamlets council which says that they welcome the

opportunity to demonstrate that council processes have been run

appropriately, insisting that to date there is no evidence to suggest

Sunday that we'll have some thicker cloud and more likely rain for the
