This is BBC Newsline and these are the headlines | :00:00. | :00:19.
The Commons votes for a snap general election, | :00:20. | :00:24.
I'm sure there will be discussions over the next few days about where | :00:25. | :00:39.
we can come the best agreements abound around some constituencies. | :00:40. | :00:41.
We focus on some of the constituencies where pacts | :00:42. | :00:45.
A man appears in court on sex charges linked | :00:46. | :00:48.
More than a third of Belfast Bikes have been stolen or vandalised. | :00:49. | :00:52.
Getting over his limited speech due to his fascination with space - | :00:53. | :00:55.
we meet the autistic boy who loves Tim Peake. | :00:56. | :01:03.
What planet is it that you want to go to? Mars. Where is Mars? It is | :01:04. | :01:11.
the fourth planet away from the sun. It is the fourth planet | :01:12. | :01:12.
away from the sun. A trio of Ulstermen are named | :01:13. | :01:15.
in the British and Irish Lions squad Northern Ireland's love | :01:16. | :01:18.
affair with road racing - Temperatures will be above average | :01:19. | :01:21.
again tomorrow before they drop off again as we head | :01:22. | :01:25.
towards the weekend. As expected, the UK is going | :01:26. | :01:27.
to the polls on 8th June - an early Westminster election called | :01:28. | :01:40.
by the Prime Minister before The surprise move throws up | :01:41. | :01:42.
a whole host of questions What does it mean for the talks | :01:43. | :01:49.
process and for the Assembly? Will there be | :01:50. | :01:55.
a unionist voting pact? Will the nationalist | :01:56. | :01:59.
parties also co-operate? First, to Westminster | :02:00. | :02:02.
and our political Today, the House of Commons backed | :02:03. | :02:19.
this snap general election for June. The move was backed by the DUP and | :02:20. | :02:27.
the Ulster unionists, and was opposed by the SDLP and Lady Sylvia | :02:28. | :02:28.
Hermon. Once a snap general election was a | :02:29. | :02:35.
long shot, Knight is a reality. Every poll creates winners and | :02:36. | :02:39.
losers in Northern Ireland will be no different. Already some are | :02:40. | :02:44.
suggesting the general election of 2017 has created its first casualty, | :02:45. | :02:50.
the talks process and evolution. I do fear for the talks process. Quite | :02:51. | :02:55.
frankly, we are seeing the freezer bags come out and the deep frost | :02:56. | :02:59.
button being pressed and the Assembly and I think that is very | :03:00. | :03:03.
sad. But if that makes this placed the centre of politics for Northern | :03:04. | :03:06.
Ireland and we need to make sure we have a strong DUP team here working | :03:07. | :03:10.
for all the people of Northern Ireland. By calling the election | :03:11. | :03:16.
during the talks process, something that the Prime Minister has | :03:17. | :03:18.
disregarded the witches of the people of Northern Ireland. She has | :03:19. | :03:24.
hardly ever been to Northern Ireland, not involved herself in the | :03:25. | :03:29.
docks. How she can do anything over the next seven weeks, it is a | :03:30. | :03:33.
disgrace but they are doing. Others insist that the Prime Minister is | :03:34. | :03:38.
putting party interest first. Yet again, we have Theresa May acting | :03:39. | :03:42.
with the Tory party in a very selfish way about protecting Tory | :03:43. | :03:46.
prod interests rather than protecting the needs of the people | :03:47. | :03:50.
of Northern Ireland. It is not just evolution that is on the minds of | :03:51. | :03:55.
unionists, then no cooperation in the Westminster seat helps to | :03:56. | :03:59.
maximise their votes. I'm sure there will be discussions over the next | :04:00. | :04:04.
few days of where we can come to the best agreements around some | :04:05. | :04:07.
constituencies. That should not be a shock. What they want to do is make | :04:08. | :04:15.
sure we have representation in Westminster for Northern Ireland. We | :04:16. | :04:20.
need to give the people a voice. The election will take place on | :04:21. | :04:24.
Thursday, the 8th of June, meaning Parliamentary time is running out. | :04:25. | :04:29.
Within days, emergency financial measures needed in the absence of | :04:30. | :04:32.
the Stormont Executive will be pushed through here in advance of | :04:33. | :04:35.
the dissolution of parliament in May. | :04:36. | :04:39.
It is full steam ahead. The election no one predicted is now underway. | :04:40. | :04:43.
From Westminster there we heard one MP mention | :04:44. | :04:45.
the possibility of unionist pacts in several key seats. | :04:46. | :04:47.
Will Leitch takes a closer look at how and why unionism might work | :04:48. | :04:50.
A win for Tom Elliott in Fermanagh South Tyrone at the last plans Mr | :04:51. | :05:05.
election, a win for a unionist pact. The case perhaps of the DUP and UUP | :05:06. | :05:11.
having to work together. In Fermanagh South to roam it is almost | :05:12. | :05:14.
inevitable that there will be packed. The last time Tom Elliot won | :05:15. | :05:19.
by a few hundred votes because of the pact. The time before that there | :05:20. | :05:25.
an agreement with Rodney Connor. Even then, he didn't quite win the | :05:26. | :05:30.
seat, he came within four votes. Over the last 30 or 40 years there | :05:31. | :05:34.
has always been some sort of agreement between unionist here and | :05:35. | :05:38.
I think it is inevitable that there will be again. The possibility of | :05:39. | :05:41.
unionist pact is becoming a factor in several key seats, like this one. | :05:42. | :05:47.
This is South Belfast. Alasdair McDonnell took the seat for the SDLP | :05:48. | :05:52.
in the last election with the vote share of less than 25%, the lowest | :05:53. | :05:58.
ever for a winning candidate in the single-seat Westminster election. | :05:59. | :06:03.
The DUP came second. It is no secret that unionists are wondering if the | :06:04. | :06:06.
pact could get them agreed unionist candidate here across the line. I | :06:07. | :06:11.
think the results of the last assembly elections in March were so | :06:12. | :06:15.
disappointing for unionists, it was a blow to the unionist psyche and a | :06:16. | :06:20.
lot of soul-searching was done to try to figure out how to regain lost | :06:21. | :06:25.
ground. People were thinking about the possibility of another assembly | :06:26. | :06:30.
election. Neither is another general election. There is a pressure there | :06:31. | :06:35.
from grassroots unionist to reclaim back ground and consolidate their | :06:36. | :06:42.
position. I think it will happen on the unionist side. They will be | :06:43. | :06:45.
joining together to try to win as many seats as possible. There is a | :06:46. | :06:50.
chance they could tried here in south Belfast. They normally do. All | :06:51. | :06:54.
elections are divisive. Name one that isn't. They have to pander to | :06:55. | :07:01.
their local communities, so it is either one side of the other. I | :07:02. | :07:08.
unionist pact took East Belfast for the DUP last time out. The sitting | :07:09. | :07:13.
MP says he is confident this time with or without one. I understand | :07:14. | :07:16.
there will be discussions in that regard. I am relaxed that there is a | :07:17. | :07:21.
pact in my constituency or not. There are discussions that are | :07:22. | :07:25.
important because there is a request from unionism to have greater | :07:26. | :07:28.
co-operation between all parties. The woman he took his seat from two | :07:29. | :07:33.
years ago, Naomi Long, has said she is happy to run against him if | :07:34. | :07:38.
selected. Reboot seven weeks tomorrow. Those unionist pact | :07:39. | :07:40.
discussions are bound to happen soon. | :07:41. | :07:42.
From unionist pacts now to potential voting agreements | :07:43. | :07:44.
Richard Morgan has been to South Down to see if a Sinn Fein | :07:45. | :07:48.
and SDLP pact is an option and to gauge what voters think. | :07:49. | :07:58.
Southdown has been an SDLP stronghold since 1987. The party's | :07:59. | :08:06.
boat suffered here in the election last month. The former nationalist | :08:07. | :08:10.
pact with Sinn Fein to retain the seat? There is no possibility. It | :08:11. | :08:15.
would be more to the point in Fermanagh South Tyrone where they | :08:16. | :08:21.
got about 2500 votes in the last election and pretty much put Tom | :08:22. | :08:25.
Elliott in. Colm Eastwood had this to say. We will not be involved in a | :08:26. | :08:30.
sectarian pact whether it is unionist against nationalists. We | :08:31. | :08:36.
are open to discussions around how we can protect the interests of | :08:37. | :08:41.
Northern Ireland in Europe. This is a Brexit election. As for Sinn Fein. | :08:42. | :08:46.
We want to maximise the Sinn Fein majority and boat. We want to make | :08:47. | :08:51.
sure that we fight the election strongly against Bragg said. We will | :08:52. | :08:57.
be up to discussions on standing on that platform. The SDLP vote in | :08:58. | :09:02.
Southdown has fallen consistently since 1992, so what can we expect in | :09:03. | :09:06.
this selection and what to go to voters here think? If there was to | :09:07. | :09:11.
be a pact between parties in Southdown, but that change how you | :09:12. | :09:17.
would vote? No. It is the same over here, orange and green. I would love | :09:18. | :09:24.
the politicians to forget about their own agenda and really work for | :09:25. | :09:29.
us. I would vote on who I thought was going to be the best, most | :09:30. | :09:34.
effective MP for the local area. Nationalism and unionism doesn't | :09:35. | :09:37.
enter into my thoughts. There is always our reluctance to talk about | :09:38. | :09:43.
pacts, especially for parties with the sitting MP as it could be a sign | :09:44. | :09:47.
of weakness. The SDLP will have to be soul-searching in coming weeks | :09:48. | :09:51.
While the election campaign informally starts today, | :09:52. | :09:54.
the inter-party talks to restore power-sharing at Stormont | :09:55. | :09:56.
Over the past two days, politicians have voiced their concern | :09:57. | :10:00.
that the focus will now be diverted away from reaching a deal to restore | :10:01. | :10:03.
Our political correspondent Enda McClafferty is at Stormont. | :10:04. | :10:10.
Before we focus on where the talks go from here, what are your thoughts | :10:11. | :10:13.
on the parties' positions on electoral pacts? | :10:14. | :10:19.
No great surprise that the Ulster unionists and the DUP are up for | :10:20. | :10:24.
another pact because it worked so well the last time for them. It is a | :10:25. | :10:31.
problem for the SDLP because as we heard Colum Eastwood say they are | :10:32. | :10:35.
not up for which he called sectarian pact. The difficulty of his party is | :10:36. | :10:41.
that he found some the support of unionists voting tactically. The | :10:42. | :10:45.
last thing he wants to do is form a pact with Sinn Fein to target | :10:46. | :10:50.
unionist seats elsewhere for fear of losing those seats. He is also | :10:51. | :10:55.
talking about an alliance with the fellow Remain parties, keeping them | :10:56. | :11:02.
all on side. The SDLP leader has had to choose his words carefully today. | :11:03. | :11:08.
Where do the Stormont talks go from here? The Secretary of State test | :11:09. | :11:13.
the pause button before Easter on the talks process. He will press the | :11:14. | :11:22.
play button again tomorrow. The Round Table discussions begin again | :11:23. | :11:26.
on Monday. There is no sense that there will be any progress made in | :11:27. | :11:30.
the talks this side of the Westminster election because the | :11:31. | :11:34.
parties feel that nobody is going to be putting any compromises on the | :11:35. | :11:38.
table for fear that it might be a backlash against them in the boat | :11:39. | :11:42.
come the 8th of June that there political opponents may see is what | :11:43. | :11:46.
is put on the table to try to up the ante in the elections. There is no | :11:47. | :11:51.
sense that we will have a deal this side of the Westminster elections | :11:52. | :11:54.
and there is the sense that this whole process may be pressed -- may | :11:55. | :11:59.
be placed into cold storage until after that date. Is there still too | :12:00. | :12:04.
much to be negotiated and agreed? There is, and the added | :12:05. | :12:08.
complication, we know the difficulties between Sinn Fein and | :12:09. | :12:12.
the government when it comes to legacy issues and national-security. | :12:13. | :12:17.
In two weeks the government will be wind-up essentially. Westminster | :12:18. | :12:20.
will be dissolved. There will be no government in place to make any | :12:21. | :12:25.
decision around legacy. That element of the discussions will not be | :12:26. | :12:29.
agreed this side of the Westminster election. That is an extra headache | :12:30. | :12:33.
that James Brogan Shara will have to deal with when he meets the parties | :12:34. | :12:35.
here tomorrow. A Coleraine man has appeared | :12:36. | :12:50.
in court charged with 16 sexual offences which police allege | :12:51. | :12:52.
are linked to the setting up The 23 year old denies | :12:53. | :12:55.
the offences and said someone Limavady court heard some | :12:56. | :12:58.
of the women involved have been left traumatised and in need | :12:59. | :13:02.
of medical help. Ryan Eastwood, Adam Wheater from: | :13:03. | :13:06.
rain, is charged with two offences of causing two women to engage in | :13:07. | :13:09.
sexual activity on the Skype video messaging service. He faces 14 | :13:10. | :13:14.
offences relating to the improper use of electronic communications by | :13:15. | :13:17.
sending Facebook messages which caused anxiety to 14 other women. He | :13:18. | :13:22.
denies the charges. A detective constable told the court that the | :13:23. | :13:26.
police investigation into the thick online modelling agency began last | :13:27. | :13:32.
year. A woman had told police that she had been contacted via Facebook | :13:33. | :13:35.
by a modelling agency based in London. More contact was made by | :13:36. | :13:41.
another man who used two different names. The woman was asked to send | :13:42. | :13:45.
photographs of herself fully clothed, semi-clothed and naked. The | :13:46. | :13:51.
police said that when Ryan Eastwood was arrested he claimed that he was | :13:52. | :13:55.
a victim in the case. He said that the social media accounts had been | :13:56. | :13:59.
set up by someone else using his name. The police told the court that | :14:00. | :14:04.
some of the women who were victims in the case had required medical | :14:05. | :14:09.
assistance and had been left traumatised. Ryan Eastwood was | :14:10. | :14:12.
remanded in custody until next month. | :14:13. | :14:26.
A motorcyclist in his 20s has died following a collision between his | :14:27. | :14:32.
bike and a tractor near Guildford in County Armagh this afternoon. | :14:33. | :14:36.
Harland and Wolff has won a wind turbine contract | :14:37. | :14:39.
with a Polish company, supporting 80 jobs in Belfast. | :14:40. | :14:41.
It will make parts used to anchor the turbines to the seabed off | :14:42. | :14:44.

The swimmer, from Seaforde in County Down, won three golds | :14:52. | :14:53.
and a silver in the pool at the Rio Olympics last year. | :14:54. | :14:56.
She says she intends to compete at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020. | :14:57. | :15:08.
More than one third of Belfast Bikes, a scheme | :15:09. | :15:11.
that was launched in 2015, are out of action. | :15:12. | :15:13.
The City Council says it is costing ratepayers about ?20,000 a year. | :15:14. | :15:22.
There are now concerns about the future expansion of the scheme. | :15:23. | :15:24.
Our reporter Rick Faragher has been to one of the main bike | :15:25. | :15:27.
It was at this very site that the Belfast Bikes scheme had its big | :15:28. | :15:41.
launch two years ago. Hopes were high and it has been a success. | :15:42. | :15:47.
5,000 annual users and 5,000 casual users, but a spate of thefts is | :15:48. | :15:56.
costing the scheme ?1800 a month. Sergeant, there were 19 thefts over | :15:57. | :16:00.
the Easter weekend. I is this happening? This is normal over any | :16:01. | :16:04.
holiday period. We are seeing large groups of youths in the city centre | :16:05. | :16:09.
and they are turning their hand to damaging Belfast Bikes and taking | :16:10. | :16:13.
them in a number of cases. From what we have seen and from stories it | :16:14. | :16:16.
appears that youths are taking these bags to use them in and around the | :16:17. | :16:20.
city centre were to get back to home. How are these thefts best | :16:21. | :16:26.
tackled? Are called today is for members of the public to be | :16:27. | :16:33.
vigilant. When we look at CCTV, people walk past and let these bikes | :16:34. | :16:40.
be taken. By all means, phone us on 999 if you're seeing a theft live, | :16:41. | :16:43.
or if you have information that would assist us contact us on 101 | :16:44. | :16:49.
were through the Crimestoppers phone line. The Lord Mayor of Belfast is | :16:50. | :16:57.
also with me, Brian Kingston. Is there any fear for the long-term | :16:58. | :17:02.
future of the scheme? Belfast Bikes there's a successful scheme. The | :17:03. | :17:05.
statistics are generally very positive. Over 200,000 journeys a | :17:06. | :17:11.
year. These thefts are jeopardising the future expansion of the scheme. | :17:12. | :17:17.
This level of vandalism is costing over ?20,000 a year. He is paying | :17:18. | :17:24.
for that? The ratepayer. The message here is if you are using one of | :17:25. | :17:28.
these bikes, please ensure it is securely fastened back into the | :17:29. | :17:33.
holder and if you have any information about these thefts, | :17:34. | :17:34.
please contact the PSNI. Road racing is the subject | :17:35. | :17:44.
of a new three part As Martin Cassidy reports | :17:45. | :17:46.
'Road Riders' captures the lives and passions of the men, | :17:47. | :17:50.
women and families involved Along country roads at speeds | :17:51. | :17:58.
touching 200 miles an hour, this is the world of road racers. To | :17:59. | :18:02.
outsiders the risks seem incomprehensible. BBC One Northern | :18:03. | :18:07.

and their families lived with the danger. I just think that I am not | :18:11. | :18:14.
going to get hurt, it won't happen to me. I can't get away from it. I | :18:15. | :18:21.
think it is the buzz and a love for it that makes me go out and not | :18:22. | :18:24.
think about the negatives of what could happen to me. When she goes | :18:25. | :18:31.
out, my heart is going 92 the dozen and my stomach is churning. I said | :18:32. | :18:38.
like this the whole time. Scary. The producers of the series followed a | :18:39. | :18:43.
group of racers and their families through a season. They are racers. | :18:44. | :18:50.
They are people who race and competed there are limits so it is | :18:51. | :18:54.
very dangerous. The nature of the events themselves are very family | :18:55. | :19:00.

Our reporter Declan Harvey caught up with Hayden | :19:52. | :19:54.
Still a little shy at times, but Hayden Geraghty is unrecognisable | :19:55. | :20:16.
from the boy he was just over a year ago. He was very withdrawn. He | :20:17. | :20:23.
didn't like much eye contact and his speech was very delayed. He was very | :20:24. | :20:31.
into himself. All that changed in December 2015 when Major Tim Peake | :20:32. | :20:35.
became the first British astronaut to blast off to the International | :20:36. | :20:39.
Space Station. He started doing the countdown, right up to the bar | :20:40. | :20:44.
staff. The big guys were like saucers. This was the first real | :20:45. | :20:54.
sentence from him. I never imagined how it has developed on. What planet | :20:55. | :21:03.
is that you want to go to?. Can you tell him whereabouts Morris is? The | :21:04. | :21:09.
fourth planet away from the sun. Hayden met his hero in Belfast last | :21:10. | :21:14.
year. He is also the youngest member of the astronomy Ireland club. It | :21:15. | :21:19.
has transformed his learning, development and speech, that little | :21:20. | :21:25.
personality that we used to worry about if we were ever going to | :21:26. | :21:30.
really find out what Hayden was all about. The charity autism and I have | :21:31. | :21:34.
said there are things that other families can take from Hayden's | :21:35. | :21:39.
story. Despite the challenges and differences that come with autism, | :21:40. | :21:43.
there are many positives and sometimes they can come out of the | :21:44. | :21:44.
blue. The Ireland rugby team will be well | :21:45. | :21:46.
represented on this summer's British Jared Payne is one of a trio of | :21:47. | :21:49.
Ulstermen who will be on the plane. In total, 11 Irishmen have | :21:50. | :22:02.
made the cut, among them We'll hear from Iain Henderson | :22:03. | :22:05.
in a moment, but first BBC Newsline's Nial Foster | :22:06. | :22:09.
was in West London for today's Set on a 200 acre estate in west | :22:10. | :22:19.
London, the tranquil secluded surroundings were brought to life at | :22:20. | :22:24.
midday after months of speculation, the Lions team manager announced the | :22:25. | :22:29.
squad to tour New Zealand. The selection process went right down to | :22:30. | :22:33.
the wire with 11 Irish men eventually given the nod. It was the | :22:34. | :22:37.
inclusion of the New Zealand native that surprised the media pack. | :22:38. | :22:41.
31-year-old Jared Payne will return to his homeland to try and tame the | :22:42. | :22:49.
all Blacks. The great thing about Jared Payne is that I coach Tim at | :22:50. | :22:54.
my two and I didn't renew his contract and let go, so I am | :22:55. | :22:59.
delighted to see the turnaround. He was obviously a talented individual. | :23:00. | :23:03.
At the time I didn't feel he was fulfilling his potential. He got | :23:04. | :23:10.
selected for the blues after bad pants went to Ireland, played for | :23:11. | :23:13.
Ireland now he is a British and Irish Lions. Nearly five years to | :23:14. | :23:18.
the Dave as Ulster debut, Iain Henderson has gone from strength to | :23:19. | :23:22.
strength and has established himself as one of the best secondary players | :23:23. | :23:27.
world rugby. He has the skill set of the backroom, he is abrasive, | :23:28. | :23:32.
athletic. We saw that against England in the last six Nations | :23:33. | :23:36.
game. We have been watching him for a while and I am a big fan of him | :23:37. | :23:40.
and am looking forward to working with him. Rory Best has scored | :23:41. | :23:46.
against the all Blacks and captain Ireland to win over the Southern | :23:47. | :23:51.
Hemisphere side in the past. In just over 40 days he will be part of the | :23:52. | :23:55.
bride aiming for the first series win over New Zealand since 1971. | :23:56. | :24:00.
So a first Lions tour beckons for Ulster and Ireland's versatile | :24:01. | :24:02.
I caught up with him this afternoon and began by asking him how | :24:03. | :24:06.
I am quite a good sleeper! Probably a bit on edge. I was up early this | :24:07. | :24:20.
morning and was at the Kingspan Stadium early this morning. I heard | :24:21. | :24:27.
the news, and cut the grass to settle the nerves a bit! I am | :24:28. | :24:33.
delighted. The phone has been going nuts with congratulations from all | :24:34. | :24:37.
walks of my rugby career so far, from primary school by the way | :24:38. | :24:40.
through to club rugby. Amazingly proud. My mum and dad are both over | :24:41. | :24:46.
the moon, too. Probably a bit of shock, but unreal. I heard a few | :24:47. | :24:51.
rumours in the best yesterday but I dismissed all them. It was an | :24:52. | :24:58.
opportunity that was potentially there and, thankfully, I got the | :24:59. | :25:01.
nod. He played against Sam Warburton a couple of weeks ago and he limped | :25:02. | :25:07.
off. How excited are you playing alongside him? It'll be interesting | :25:08. | :25:11.
to be with all the other teams in the Pro 12 and European cup and six | :25:12. | :25:16.
Nations and being put into one big mixing potency hi everyone gets on. | :25:17. | :25:21.
I am excited to have him as my skipper and am looking forward to | :25:22. | :25:25.
getting to know him. How does it feel to join the greats of the game | :25:26. | :25:30.
from Northern Ireland to have been there? I think we can go out there | :25:31. | :25:36.
and put in the best performance against the best rugby nation in the | :25:37. | :25:40.
world. We will try to provide what Ireland provided in Chicago. To join | :25:41. | :25:45.
the list of the greats coming from Willie John and all the previous | :25:46. | :25:50.
players, Jack Kyle and the others, it will be special to be on that | :25:51. | :25:54.
list with them. I am excited and proud. | :25:55. | :25:56.
As Crusaders chase a third consecutive Gibson Cup, | :25:57. | :25:58.
just one point separates the current champions and | :25:59. | :26:00.
Both sides won last night, guaranteeing a dramatic | :26:01. | :26:02.
Crusaders pursuit of a third consecutive league title has at | :26:03. | :26:15.
times been the stuff of comic books. Last night they came from behind to | :26:16. | :26:19.
win a compelling match against Coleraine. McLauchlan will try one, | :26:20. | :26:27.
that is a wonderful goal! An opening goal from Jordan opens and then a | :26:28. | :26:31.
couple from Paul Heatley were decisive in the 3-2 win and bringing | :26:32. | :26:37.
Hall Green's unbeaten run of 17 to an end. Linfield had a more | :26:38. | :26:41.
comfortable evening beating Glen Avenue and 3-0. Should they lose to | :26:42. | :26:46.
Coleraine on Saturday and Crusaders win at Ballymena United United, then | :26:47. | :26:52.
the leak would be all over. As it is, it is all over for Portadown who | :26:53. | :27:01.
were officially relegated following par-3 -- following at 3-2 defeat | :27:02. | :27:04.
against Newtownards. A fireman from County Tyrone has | :27:05. | :27:07.
been hailed a hero after coming to the help of a runner | :27:08. | :27:09.
during the Boston Marathon. Crew commander Terry Canning, | :27:10. | :27:12.
from Omagh, who is pictured here on the right, saw that US | :27:13. | :27:14.
runner Julianne Bowe was overcome with heat | :27:15. | :27:16.
and struggling to finish the race. Along with another competitor | :27:17. | :27:19.
from Chile, he helped carry her up to the finishing line then | :27:20. | :27:21.
set her down so she He said it was the | :27:22. | :27:24.
right thing to do. Finally this evening, | :27:25. | :27:27.
and compliments of Ulster Rugby, here's the moment Jared Payne found | :27:28. | :27:29.
out he is a British and Irish Lion. Jared Payne and. I think they will | :27:30. | :27:33.
enjoy tonight! I think he is happy. Cecilia Daly is here | :27:34. | :27:45.
with the latest weather news. It is a nice end to the day. Apart | :27:46. | :28:05.
from an hour of Chris Illyrian, it wasn't too bad. It is a mild | :28:06. | :28:09.
evening, mostly drive. It will tend to be cloudy tonight, which will | :28:10. | :28:14.
keep a mild and mean odd spots of drizzle, but for the most part it | :28:15. | :28:20.
will be dry. Some of the cloud could be low to begin with tomorrow, so | :28:21. | :28:24.
maybe a bit dreary first thing, but it should brighten up, much as it | :28:25. | :28:31.
did today. Bits and pieces of drizzle around first thing, mainly | :28:32. | :28:36.
over the hills in the north-west, pretending to fizzle out. The cloud | :28:37. | :28:40.
lifting and breaking by late morning or lunchtime. Hints of or sunshine. | :28:41. | :28:48.
Temperatures may be up to 16 degrees tomorrow. The further west you are | :28:49. | :28:52.
because of the westerly breeze, there will be more cloud with odd | :28:53. | :28:56.
spots of brightness, but always the risk of a shower coming through. By | :28:57. | :29:03.
and large, dry, mild but cloudy day. Tomorrow night should be another | :29:04. | :29:07.
cloudy, mild night. Odd spots of rain and drizzle but no more than | :29:08. | :29:12.
that. On Friday we will see a weather front comes out. That will | :29:13. | :29:16.
bring some rain, but it would be heavy. It has been largely dry month | :29:17. | :29:20.
and that story will continue. It will cool off as we head towards the | :29:21. | :29:25.
weekend. The weak rain band on Friday will introduce cooler air. | :29:26. | :29:29.
Temperatures will slip back a couple of degrees on Friday. On Saturday, | :29:30. | :29:34.
hopefully a bit of sunshine, but there will be a chill in the air. | :29:35. | :29:37. |
