John McAreavey, whose wife Michaela was murdered on honeymoon

in Mauritius six years ago, has arrived back on the island.

He is hoping his visit will help persuade anyone with information

No-one has ever been convicted of the murder.

From Mauritius, Mark Simpson reports.

It is a journey he hoped he would never have to make again. John

McAreavey back in Mauritius. Still searching for justice. John and

Michaela McAreavey came here together on honeymoon in six years

ago. She was murdered 12 days after their wedding. He is here with his

sister Claire here with his sister Claire who is a lawyer and

Michaela's brother. They are not saying anything until next week when

they hold a news conference to make a public appeal for information

about the killing. In Mauritius, there is surprise that John

McAreavey has returned. I think people will be shocked, people will

be shocked, because we gathered that he has started a new life, but he

will move on and forget about this tragedy. And I think people will be

surprised to see him and to see his quest for the truth is still there.

The last time John McCreadie was here was for the trial of two hotel

workers accused of the murder, they were both found not guilty, that was

five years ago and since then there has been a fresh police

investigation, some new evidence has been discovered but not enough to

lead to a prosecution. The case appears to have stalled, John

McGreevey is hoping his presence here will change that. Mark Simpson,

BBC Newsline, Mauritius. A man's body has been

found at Murlough beach, Police say the unidentified male

is around 50 years old, He had greying hair on the side

of his head, but was bald It's thought the body may have

washed in with the tide and police say they are following a definite

line of enquiry. A thirty two year old Donegal man

has appeared in court charged with attempted murder and possession

of a pipe bomb with The charges are connected

to an explosion at a housing estate in Irvinestown in county Fermanagh

at the end of January. Sean McVeigh, who's

from Glencara Park in Letterkenny, Tributes were paid to former

Derry City captain Ryan McBride as the team played its first game

since his sudden death The Candystripes hosted

Bray Wanderers in Buncrana last night, with the visitors snatching

a 3-2 victory. Players, officials and fans made

gestures of remembrance for the twenty seven year

old who played wearing number five and our north-west reporter

Keiron Tourish was there. A very emotional and difficult night

for Derry City football club, the first game back after the death of

Ryan McBride. Denis Bradley, a difficult time for the club. It has

been a difficult time and this tribute is just a recognition, some

kind of expression of the warmth of which this young player was held. He

was just a local lad who gave his all for the club and I think the

local supporters have come out and paid a very strong tribute. The

memory goes on and I think it will go on for a long time. Aside from

the personal tragedy, this comes at a time when Ryan McBride was really

making his mark in football. He was starting to mature as a player. You

could see the captaincy was bringing out the best in him and he was

hitting the peak. These were his best years. It is sad, I think he

was turning into the best centre half in Ireland and it is

unfortunately did not get to see the best of him. Thank you. The family

have travelled here to witness for themselves at first hand, the warmth

and tributes to the former captain. The Holywood actor John Cusack

is in Belfast this weekend where he's been attending a number

of events as part of The star of hit films including

High Fidelity and The Grifters was presented with the festival's

Realta (Rail-ta) award for his outstanding contribution

to cinema during a sold out Today the actor, who describes

himself as a political activist, gave a talk to over one hundred

and fifty politics students Motorcyclist Jonathan Rea won his

fifth successive race in this year's World Superbike Championship today

in Aragon in Spain. Rea was involved a battle with rival

Chaz Davies who crashed Rea, who has won the title

for the last two years, Now with what the rest

of the weekend weather has in store, Most of the heavy showers are easing

away but for a while there were some big black clouds looming which we

needed to take cover from. The shower is continuing to ease away

leaving a cold night, possibly a touch of frost and a lovely day

tomorrow, tomorrow definitely the better of the two days. Driving at

night, clear skies, temperatures could get close to easing in the

countryside, but there will be some mist and fog around early tomorrow

but the sun is up early, so any frost

will quickly melt and will be a fine and dry Sunday with lots of dry and

bright and sunny weather to come as the mist and low cloud lifts. If

you're heading across the board are travelling down south, a fine day,

with a ridge of high pressure, one or two showers in the East of

England and the breeze picking up later in the day across the west

coast of Ireland, some cloud moving in from the Atlantic. It should stay

bright tomorrow, warmer than today, temperatures up to 15 degrees.

Tomorrow night the breeze will pick up, some cloud moving in and some

rain for a time on Monday but once we get rid of the rain on Monday we

will get high pressure reading and for much of the working week. It

looks like next week could be pretty dry.
