A teenager has been taken to hospital after falling 15 feet from

a fairground ride on Worthing seafront. The girl fell from the

Rocker ride, which was in motion at the time, shortly before 9:30 last

night. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the girl was

taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. Sean Killick

reports. An official safety inspection is

being carried out on the Work right. It is run by an experienced

contractor. Sussex Police say at 9:30pm a teenage girl fell 15 feet

from the ride, it was in motion at the time. The police were here and

the ambulance was here quickly and I believe she was taken to hospital. I

believe she has hurt her wrist and ankle. The ride is closed for the

time being. Obviously, the ride operators are cooperating with the

council and giving full cooperation. Is very sign of any fault with the

ride? There is no sign at this stage. All the rights in the fair

were checked by officers before they were set up and they do have up to

date safety certificates. The other rides began operating has planned,

but the Rock remains closed. The council later said that the Health

and Safety Executive said there was nothing mechanically wrong with the

ride and it will reopen tomorrow. Meanwhile, the injured girl has been

released from hospital. Health campaigners in Hampshire say

the county is a hotspot for asbestos`related disease. Today in

Portsmouth a group abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower to raise awareness

of incurable asbestos`linked cancer. They say it is especially prevalent

in the area because of historical heavy industry. Rob Powell has more.

but that will lead us into clear skies. A chilly night. Many places

will see frost. Temperatures as low as freezing in one or two spots. Two

or three Celsius will be widespread. A chilly start tomorrow. It will be

a day of sunny spells, variable cloud. The cloud could bring one or

two showers through the afternoon. Particuarly down to parts of Sussex,

there may be one or two getting further westwards, but many of you,

I am sure, will enjoy a dry day. Moderately breezy, temperatures of

12 to 14 Celsius. Beyond that, some clouds may bring some rain, it will

turn heavy in places. You will bring some rain.

Today we have seen temperatures rising if Scotland but again

tonight, with the clear skies and light wind temperatures will fall

sharply, and for many of us, we are looking at a touch of frost. The

satellite picture tells a story nicely. This belt of cloud is

sitting in the far north-west of Scotland, we have had this cloud

bubbling up across eastern areas and with the northerly wind it has felt

cold in East Anglia. That cloud is going to melt away, we will get an

easterly breeze picking the cloud back in again later in the night in

eastern areas and we still have this cloud and rain in the far north-west

of Scotland, but for most we will have clear sky, light wind, Ness are

the temperatures in towns and city, spin it round into the countryside,

you can see it is colder, close to freezing, it could be down to minus

three or four in Scotland. Saturday, that band of cloud and rain isn't

moving anywhere. We will see the breeze dragging in more cloud into

eastern areas in the morning, pushing into the west in the
