A quick reminder, you can see more of that interview with Pele on BBC | :00:00. | :00:08.
Good evening. A woman from Oxford who's been battling extradition to | :00:09. | :00:11.
the United States for four years has been told by the High Court she must | :00:12. | :00:14.
go back to face parental kidnap charges. Eileen Clark came to the UK | :00:15. | :00:17.
with her three young children in 1998 after the breakdown of her | :00:18. | :00:20.
marriage. Her lawyers claims she was a victim of domestic violence and | :00:21. | :00:23.
shouldn't be facing any criminal charges. Charlotte Stacey reports. | :00:24. | :00:34.
Rebecca was just six when she came to the UK with her mum and two | :00:35. | :00:41.
brothers. They now call Oxford home, but four years ago her mum, Eileen, | :00:42. | :00:46.
was arrested and charged with international parental kidnapping. | :00:47. | :00:49.
That was probably the worst day of my life. I remember it very clearly. | :00:50. | :00:54.
I remember the police officers walking out with her. I remember her | :00:55. | :01:00.
crying profusely. My brothers having a stern face, as brothers often do. | :01:01. | :01:06.
After a series of court hearings and a failed appeal, human rights | :01:07. | :01:10.
organisation Liberty took up Eileen's case in 2012. They believe | :01:11. | :01:17.
issues like the fact she was in an abusive marriage hadn't been | :01:18. | :01:19.
properly considered. We had a lot of evidence that that was going on and | :01:20. | :01:24.
that's why she left. To require a victim of domestic violence 20 years | :01:25. | :01:28.
later to go back and answer these charges is wholly disproportionate, | :01:29. | :01:32.
a waste of everybody's time and it will have a terrible impact on | :01:33. | :01:38.
Eileen and her children. Eileen suffers from post`traumatic stress | :01:39. | :01:42.
disorder, a fear of flying and other anxieties issues. Her family fear | :01:43. | :01:47.
for her future. My worry is she will be sent back to prison and she will | :01:48. | :01:54.
sit there and rot in a jail cell and just... And nothing good will come | :01:55. | :01:59.
of this, because it is not about justice in the end, it is vengeance. | :02:00. | :02:04.
What happens next rests with the European Court of Human Rights, | :02:05. | :02:06.
which should make a decision in a matter of weeks. Her family say that | :02:07. | :02:11.
Eileen still believes that leaving the United States was the right | :02:12. | :02:13.
thing to do. A man accused of murder has told a | :02:14. | :02:16.
court in Milton Keynes that he had no idea his friend planned to kill | :02:17. | :02:20.
two teenagers. Mohammed Farah and Amin Ismail were shot in a dispute | :02:21. | :02:23.
over drug dealing on the Fishermead estate in 2011. Brahim Hajji, who's | :02:24. | :02:26.
from Holland, wept in court as he admitted he was present at the | :02:27. | :02:29.
murders, but said he did not take part. He and 20`year`old Kenyan`born | :02:30. | :02:32.
Ahmed Ahmed deny the charges. A 49`year old man has been charged | :02:33. | :02:40.
with arson following after a series of fires in Banbury. Three cash | :02:41. | :02:43.
machines on the high street and the Freemasons village hall were | :02:44. | :02:46.
targeted last Thursday. Colin Aries, who's homeless, has appeared before | :02:47. | :02:48.
magistrates and been remanded in Beef farmers in the region say their | :02:49. | :02:50.
income has dropped by around a quarter in the last year. They're | :02:51. | :02:59.
blaming a rise in imported meat and say supermarkets need to be more | :03:00. | :03:02.
supportive of local farmers. Jeremy These cows at chart ridge in Great | :03:03. | :03:17.
Missenden are ready for market but there's no market for them, as | :03:18. | :03:22.
demand for British beef is so low. We've had to keep animals here | :03:23. | :03:28.
another six weeks, that's six weeks worth of bedding, feed and labour. | :03:29. | :03:32.
Last year these cows were fetching the up to ?1,500 each. These are now | :03:33. | :03:40.
worth ?1,100 and that loss adds up to around ?60,000 this year at the | :03:41. | :03:45.
farm. British beef is worth less now partly because more meat is big | :03:46. | :03:49.
imported, especially from Ireland and Poland. Also our eating habits | :03:50. | :03:54.
are changing a. People are choosing not the spend on expensive beef | :03:55. | :03:58.
joints. They are opting for cheaper cuts instead. This family feels let | :03:59. | :04:07.
down by supermarkets who said back British food after the horsemeat | :04:08. | :04:11.
scandal. Last week they said they did need us and would buy British | :04:12. | :04:16.
beef, but 12 months on we don't see that now. The apprenticeship Retail | :04:17. | :04:21.
Consortium says farmers of all livestock have the support of big | :04:22. | :04:27.
chains. The Government is meeting beef producers and buyers next | :04:28. | :04:32.
month. One thing we are looking at is opening up exports markets, to | :04:33. | :04:38.
China for instance. A second we'll be looking at whether there is a | :04:39. | :04:46.
role for a supermarket adjudicator. This family also produce crops and | :04:47. | :04:50.
are confident their century old family farm will survive, but they | :04:51. | :04:54.
are weighing up whether or not there is a future in cattle. | :04:55. | :04:58.
?180 million is needed in Buckinghamshire over the next ten | :04:59. | :05:01.
years to rebuild schools. Pupil numbers are expected to increase, | :05:02. | :05:03.
particularly in Aylesbury and High Wycombe as the population grows. The | :05:04. | :05:06.
County Council estimates it will need to rebuild an average of three | :05:07. | :05:09.
It's a new take on takeaways. Oxford could become one of the first places | :05:10. | :05:16.
in the country to ban polystyrene takeaway cartons. The city council's | :05:17. | :05:19.
agreed that kebab and burger vans should only use biodegradeable or | :05:20. | :05:22.
recyclable cartons. Stuart Tinworth has the story. | :05:23. | :05:30.
Kebabs and chips with all the trimmings. Even if you are one of | :05:31. | :05:39.
those who skips the salad, at least the packaging is set to get greener. | :05:40. | :05:43.
The City Council is set to become possibly the first in Britain to | :05:44. | :05:50.
insist that fast food vans use biodegradable or recyclable | :05:51. | :05:56.
packaging When they throw away polystyrene it stay there is | :05:57. | :05:59.
forever. The rule would be written into the terms of their licences but | :06:00. | :06:04.
would people miss them? Every step towards green is positive but it | :06:05. | :06:09.
needs to be billion balanced with the kebab van's interests. I think | :06:10. | :06:14.
it is a great idea. Anything that contributes to saving the | :06:15. | :06:18.
environment is a good thing. Some van owners are worried about | :06:19. | :06:22.
suitable replacements but others have already invested in better | :06:23. | :06:28.
boxes. My box is very easy for the council, for the bin. Green | :06:29. | :06:32.
campaigners like OxClean are delighted. The proposals will now go | :06:33. | :06:38.
out to consultation. In the meantime OxClean wants a simple message | :06:39. | :06:43.
stamped on polystyrene cartons ` please bin me. | :06:44. | :06:46.
Alexis is coming up with the regional weather forecast. That's | :06:47. | :06:49.
A beautiful day today and another one tomorrow. One or two mist | :06:50. | :07:03.
patches but clear spells. Temperatures in our towns and cities | :07:04. | :07:08.
will drop to 11`12 Celsius. In the countryside perhaps 8`9 degrees. | :07:09. | :07:13.
Blue skies from the word go tomorrow but during the mid morning and early | :07:14. | :07:17.
afternoon we'll see cloud from the west. Still some sunny spells and | :07:18. | :07:21.
remaining dry, with temperatures reaching a high of 22, possibly 23 | :07:22. | :07:27.
Celsius. Looking good as we head through the rest of the week. | :07:28. | :07:30.
Temperatureses could be the warmest they have been this year on Friday. | :07:31. | :07:32.
Up next is of a late storm, it turns a bit | :07:33. | :07:34.
fresher into the weekend. On the eve of the World Cup, there | :07:35. | :07:45.
was a bit of Brazil in Bridlington today because Bridlington on the | :07:46. | :07:48.
east Yorkshire Coast shared the same top temperature as the Brazilian | :07:49. | :07:52.
city of Sao Paulo, 22 degrees. That is as the weather settles down | :07:53. | :07:56.
across the UK as this area of high pressure comes in. It's still with | :07:57. | :08:00.
us at the weekend but its position will have changed slightly, changing | :08:01. | :08:03.
the weather for some of us as a result, as we'll see in a moment. | :08:04. | :08:08.
For the rest of tonight, it is dry and mainly clear. There will be some | :08:09. | :08:12.
patchy mist and fog forming in south-west England and Wales, which | :08:13. | :08:15.
will create weekly in the morning, and amateurs will fall away in the | :08:16. | :08:19.
larger towns and city centres and | :08:20. | :08:20. |
