Most of us are satisfied with the NHS and schools.

That's according to a national survey of over 1,400

people across Wales, carried out by the Welsh Government, who asked

There was a slight drop in the overall satisfaction with

health services from 6.4 in last year's survey to 6.2.

When it comes to the care provided by GPs, 92% said

38% found it difficult to make an appointment.

When asked about our schools, education scored 6.3.

85%, for example, were satisfied with their child's secondary school.

92% were satisfied with the primary school.

How well it's doing got a score of 5.8 but the level of trust

57% of people said they provided high quality services

but levels vary, sometimes in areas only miles apart.

In the Caerphilly Council area, the figure is 66%.

In neighbouring Blaenau Gwent, it was much lower at 51%.

So why is there such a difference in levels of satisfaction between

I have taken to the road to find out why. First stop, Blackwood. It is

rated as one of the highest in Wales. The council were planting

fresh flowers and the effort is appreciated by the people living

here. The streets are kept very clean. Whatever I have requested,

they have come up trumps. Although some local businesses feel the

council is not providing the help they need to succeed. They have

another down anything for my business. I have run them numerous

times on different things. Eight miles up the road, half the people

are happy with the quality of service. It scored an average of

just 51%. Do they want an improvement in the bins, roads?

Stacey runs a coffee shop. She isn't happy with the quality of her

council services. It is never no parking. Customers have to use our

back entrance. It's not fair. For regulars, it is a similar feeling.

The council is falling apart. We have got no toilets. Two towns with

varying views but all I councils face an ongoing financial squeeze.

Three more nurses have been suspended from hospitals in South

The Welsh government, the first place in the UK to ban smoking in

places, is considering whether to restrict the use of East cigarettes.

The products on the market, none are licensed all regulated and more

research is done to prove their efficacy. East cigarettes allow

smokers to inhale vaporised nicotine. 50 leading scientists

smoke cigarettes and while there are no statistics on the number of

their use. Spectators at tomorrow's cricket match would be able to smoke

them. In Caerphilly, they are being banned in council buildings.

Although it is not illegal to smoke them in public places, many

companies have also put a ban on them, like here. I do use it when I

am not allowed to smoke in normal places. Areas like this, people

still have them. The Welsh government insists everyone can have

their view and are holding consultation events around the

country before they decide whether or not to change the law.
