That is all from us this evening. There is a first look at the | :00:00. | :00:15.
An 88-year-old woman who died after being found with unexplained | :00:16. | :00:21.
injuries in a Cynon Valley hospital has been described | :00:22. | :00:25.
Tegwen Roderick's death is being investigated by police. | :00:26. | :00:30.
Four members of staff at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon in Mountain Ash | :00:31. | :00:34.
Tegwen Roderick had lived in Abercanaid all her life. A | :00:35. | :00:49.
well-known member of the community, she lived on the street with her | :00:50. | :00:53.
husband John and was well liked by her neighbours. Today the family | :00:54. | :00:58.
were in mourning. A week ago she was found with serious and unexplained | :00:59. | :01:04.
injuries at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon. She was transferred to Prince Charles | :01:05. | :01:10.
Jos Buttler but she yesterday died. Now an investigation has been | :01:11. | :01:16.
launched into her death. Jasper -- Prince Charles Hospital. A beautiful | :01:17. | :01:27.
lady. Very gentle, lovely lady. Unfortunately she did not have any | :01:28. | :01:32.
children but they were a devoted couple. And that was a view shared | :01:33. | :01:37.
by many who lived in this village. I spent the day speaking to people who | :01:38. | :01:41.
knew Tegwen Roderick. They said she had lived her whole life here and | :01:42. | :01:45.
was a teacher right up to her retirement. She had been suffering | :01:46. | :01:49.
from ill health recently but they were still shocked to hear the news | :01:50. | :01:53.
that her death has resulted in a police investigation. Police have | :01:54. | :01:56.
said at this stage there is no confirmed link between the injuries | :01:57. | :02:00.
and the death but four people are helping them with their enquiries. | :02:01. | :02:04.
As a precaution, ten members of staff were initially suspended but | :02:05. | :02:09.
six have now been lifted. In a statement, Cwm Taf Health Board said | :02:10. | :02:12.
it takes the care and safety of its patients extremely safety. As soon | :02:13. | :02:18.
as staff identified that there was a problem with the patient concerned, | :02:19. | :02:21.
they acted quickly and appropriately. The investigation is | :02:22. | :02:27.
ongoing and I have reassured me that they feel no other patient is at | :02:28. | :02:31.
risk but we need to find out what happened. We need to do justice to | :02:32. | :02:36.
this investigation. When charity is concerned about the knock-on effect | :02:37. | :02:39.
this will have on the perception of elderly care in our hospitals. | :02:40. | :02:44.
People make it about the quality of care overall or the services they | :02:45. | :02:51.
may receive. The vast majority of what we hear are very good | :02:52. | :02:55.
experiences at hospitals, good experiences of the way people are | :02:56. | :02:58.
treated by staff. But with failings do occur, it is vital that they are | :02:59. | :03:05.
investigated. The police and health boards say they are continuing to | :03:06. | :03:08.
together to work out what caused the death of this well-respected | :03:09. | :03:09.
pensioner. A mine manager has denied convincing | :03:10. | :03:12.
himself that he had checked the correct area for underground | :03:13. | :03:15.
water before an in-rush killed four Giving evidence for a fourth day, | :03:16. | :03:18.
Malcolm Fyfield once again insisted Asked if he should have carried out | :03:19. | :03:23.
another inspection behind the coalface on the morning of the | :03:24. | :03:28.
disaster, Mr Fyfield replied that He and the mine operators | :03:29. | :03:32.
deny manslaughter charges. A ?280 million race track planned | :03:33. | :03:39.
for Blaenau Gwent could get a Welsh government loan to help attract more | :03:40. | :03:45.
funding. The Heads of the Valleys Development | :03:46. | :03:49.
Company wants to build the Circuit of Wales track near Ebbw Vale to | :03:50. | :03:53.
host major motor racing events. It was granted planning | :03:54. | :03:57.
permission last July. Four men from Newport who ran a car | :03:58. | :04:00.
off the road and then shot at the passengers inside have been found | :04:01. | :04:04.
guilty of conspiracy to murder. Lewis Bridge, Brogan Hooper, | :04:05. | :04:08.
Gary Rabjohns and Ryan Battersby carried out the attempted revenge | :04:09. | :04:10.
killings last September. What was left of the red Ford car | :04:11. | :04:22.
after the three people inside were round of the road and shot twice | :04:23. | :04:28.
with a shotgun. Today, Lewis Bridge, Brogan Hooper, Gary Rabjohns | :04:29. | :04:33.
and Glasgow -- Ryan Battersby were found guilty of two counts of | :04:34. | :04:38.
conspiracy to murder. The court heard these were attempted revenge | :04:39. | :04:42.
killings to get back to men who in the days came here and allegedly | :04:43. | :04:49.
robbed Brogan Hooper at gunpoint of drugs and money. His friends wanted | :04:50. | :04:54.
retribution and a series of mobile phone messages were sent, one | :04:55. | :05:00.
saying, get your scraps ready. The court was told scraps meant guns. | :05:01. | :05:05.
Then on the evening of September three, they all followed the | :05:06. | :05:14.
victim's red car out of the estate and into Newport. The victim's Ford | :05:15. | :05:23.
was heading into a violent ambush. Shortly afterwards, the two vehicles | :05:24. | :05:27.
made their way up this road, the Jeep ramming the victim's R. Two | :05:28. | :05:32.
shots were fired from a shotgun and the victim's car crashed into the | :05:33. | :05:37.
side wall of this car park. Two of the victims had gunshot wounds, one | :05:38. | :05:42.
to the head, the other was treated for a minor spinal injury. Reacting | :05:43. | :05:47.
to the verdict, the Crown Prosecution Service said these four | :05:48. | :05:50.
defendants took part in a reckless criminal act and it is a pure chance | :05:51. | :05:54.
that their lawlessness did not lead to a more serious outcome for the | :05:55. | :05:59.
victims all other members of the public. The men said nothing as they | :06:00. | :06:04.
left the dock and all four will be sentenced at the end of this month. | :06:05. | :06:06.

awarded to two companies, one based in Neath and the other in Wrexham. | :06:13. | :06:16.
They'll be supplying steel and cabling. | :06:17. | :06:17.
We have got about 100 people working in Neath so it is sustaining those | :06:18. | :06:33.
