350 potential job losses will have a massive impact | :01:26. | :01:31.
We suffer from, or have historically suffered from, | :01:32. | :01:36.
poverty and disadvantage in that area. | :01:37. | :01:39.
We are actually on the up now in terms of the regeneration that | :01:40. | :01:43.
has gone on in the heads of the valley, along that | :01:44. | :01:46.
area, the good transport links that we have got. | :01:47. | :01:49.
So this is going to be a huge step backwards. | :01:50. | :01:53.

The announcement from 2 Sisters, though, is a blow to | :02:08. | :02:12.
the progress being made in Merthyr's regeneration. | :02:13. | :02:15.
The company's previous restructuring also had an impact on Anglesey, | :02:16. | :02:20.
where over 200 people lost their jobs at a | :02:21. | :02:22.
Unions say the potential job losses at Merthyr are devastating | :02:23. | :02:28.

A murder investigation has begun into the fatal stabbing of a man | :03:03. | :03:05.
from Caernarfon described as a "good brother and son". | :03:06. | :03:09.
42-year-old Phillip Owen was stabbed in the neck and found dead on a road | :03:10. | :03:13.
The police are calling for anyone with any | :03:14. | :03:17.
What you experience in childhood will affect your long-term health | :03:18. | :03:25.
resulting in greater dependence on the NHS. | :03:26. | :03:28.
That's the finding of new Public Health Wales research. | :03:29. | :03:31.
So children who are exposed to abuse, domestic violence or other | :03:32. | :03:35.
stresses are far more likely to develop health problems. | :03:36. | :03:38.
It's prompted calls for public bodies to work more closely. | :03:39. | :03:42.
Our Health Correspondent Owain Clarke has this special report. | :03:43. | :03:47.
Learning to live more healthily need not be boring. | :03:48. | :03:50.
The winner of this game will be whoever has the healthiest foods | :03:51. | :03:53.
in their collection and fruit always trumps fast food. | :03:54. | :03:56.
At ten years old, Jessica and Alexander are already | :03:57. | :03:59.
aware of how important it is to look after themselves. | :04:00. | :04:03.
I want to be a dancer when I am older and you have | :04:04. | :04:06.
I might not be able to do sports in the future like football or rugby | :04:07. | :04:10.
because they would not choose you if you were not good enough. | :04:11. | :04:17.
Encouraging and teaching pupils to live healthily is a key priority | :04:18. | :04:19.
But bad experiences in childhood, such as being exposed to abuse | :04:20. | :04:26.
or domestic violence, or even seeing parents | :04:27. | :04:29.
separate, can have serious and lifelong health consequences. | :04:30. | :04:34.
New research suggests children who have had four or more | :04:35. | :04:37.
adverse experiences - around 14% of the population - | :04:38. | :04:40.
are three times more likely to develop lung or heart disease | :04:41. | :04:43.
They are also four times more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes. | :04:44. | :04:48.
Those who have had difficult childhoods are more likely | :04:49. | :04:51.
As your body develops, it is used to being ready to be | :04:52. | :04:57.
What we have got to focus on is, instead of mending broken adults, | :04:58. | :05:04.
we have got to build stronger children. | :05:05. | :05:07.
But a child can experience adverse incidents even before birth. | :05:08. | :05:11.
Things like domestic abuse, violence in the household, shouting, | :05:12. | :05:15.
Of course, those things are going to cause stress to a baby, | :05:16. | :05:20.
and will impact on that baby's development. | :05:21. | :05:25.
Emerging research suggests the effects could also be passed | :05:26. | :05:27.
through the genes from one generation to the next. | :05:28. | :05:32.
This is not just a challenge for the NHS. | :05:33. | :05:34.
A child who has had four or more adverse experiences is also 15 times | :05:35. | :05:38.
more likely to be a perpetrator of violence, and 14 times more | :05:39. | :05:41.
That's why the Police and Crime Commissioner | :05:42. | :05:45.
If there is a domestic dispute and a child is seeing it, | :05:46. | :05:50.
or a parent getting blind drunk, What effect does that have? | :05:51. | :05:56.
All of those things are likely to have an impact. | :05:57. | :06:03.
Back at this school, and the mealtime game | :06:04. | :06:05.
In trying to prevent health problems later on, | :06:06. | :06:09.
inspiring children to eat well and exercise is important, | :06:10. | :06:12.
but also essential is trying to ensure in the first instance | :06:13. | :06:15.
A man from Flintshire who was involved in a car crash | :06:16. | :06:22.
while he was on holiday in Greece 13 years ago has won his fight | :06:23. | :06:26.
against extradition to serve a prison sentence there. | :06:27. | :06:29.
Paul Wright from Mold was convicted in his absence of criminal damage | :06:30. | :06:32.
and sentenced to 15 months in a Greek jail. | :06:33. | :06:37.
My children still don't know what has happened today. | :06:38. | :06:44.
I've got an eight-year-old daughter and my son is six. | :06:45. | :06:47.
And I love them both with all my heart. | :06:48. | :06:49.
But not only that, how do we explain to... | :06:50. | :06:51.
How do you explain when your wife is in labour and you are not there? | :06:52. | :06:55.
So I think, anyway, the judge has seen that side of it and then he has | :06:56. | :07:00.
looked at the paperwork and decided, it doesn't add up. | :07:01. | :07:05.
History could be made this week as St Davids could become the first | :07:06. | :07:08.
diocese in Wales to elect a woman bishop. | :07:09. | :07:10.
It's the first time women can be considered for the role | :07:11. | :07:13.
after the Church in Wales voted through the change in 2013. | :07:14. | :07:17.
47 people from across Wales have spent today behind locked doors | :07:18. | :07:21.
and their debates could go on for three days. | :07:22. | :07:25.
What is important and historic is that now we have opened the gates | :07:26. | :07:31.
and made possible for women to be considered. | :07:32. | :07:33.
Up until now, we couldn't even consider women | :07:34. | :07:36.
So that has doubled the choice, if you like. | :07:37. | :07:41.
Rugby - and the Wales second row Alun Wyn Jones will not be | :07:42. | :07:44.

Tim Jones, a former player himself for Swansea, passed away | :07:48. | :07:52.
Let's see what the weather has in store. | :07:53. | :07:57.

showers coming in from the Irish sea. The North West, having | :09:01. | :09:09.

shower the north coast. A cold night with a ground frost. Freezing in the | :09:15. | :09:22.
Brecon Beacons. Some dry weather on Thursday and sunshine in the | :09:23. | :09:25.
south-east but cloud increasing through the day together with | :09:26. | :09:29.
showers. Some more rain and showers on Friday thanks to low pressure but | :09:30. | :09:33.
some dry weather and sunshine as well with a high of 10 Celsius in | :09:34. | :09:38.

but clear weather and sunshine as well. The winds picking up over the | :09:44. | :09:47.
weekend and that will make it feel cold on bonfire night. | :09:48. | :09:49.
