The leader of the Welsh Conservatives has made a pitch

for what he calls the "centre ground" of politics.

Andrew RT Davies said Labour and Plaid Cymru had

Plaid called the attack "bluster", while Labour said it was "tired".

from the Conservative conference in Birmingham.

Party conference time and the Conservatives have their opponents

in the sites, the leader in Wales believes there are things to be one

of the centre ground. He says the Tories came third in the assembly

elections, and can win over former Labour and played calmly supporters.

I work closely with my colleagues in Westminster, we have a robust group

and local government at all parts of Wales and we are offering

alternatives but what I'm saying to you is Wales can't afford to drift

to the extremes either on the left or right, we need to govern from the

centre. Weaving the EU was once seen as an issue for the political fringe

but the referendum has changed everything and Welsh Conservatives

now think that Brexit will be part of the strategy for taking on the

political centre ground. We are not Ukip, we have a party of the centre.

I am all for it. You see you are not Ukip but you are about to deliver

the Ukip policy of Brexit. That is one policy, it was our policy to

hold a referendum to allow the people of Britain to make that

decision for themselves. A message to reason may reinforce, the Prime

Minister insisted there would be no October of Brexit.
