Good evening. If you're watching last night, I was expecting

uncertainty about the precise nature of the weather coming in our

direction. We haven't narrowed it down completely, but we are getting

there. A storm is brewing in the Atlantic, and it is heading in our

direction. But there will be some heavy and squally showers for now.

Gusts of 70 mph coming through the English Channel, and some of the

showers will be quite heavy and thundery. Some will progress across

Wales, through the Midlands and into East Anglia. Temperatures not

far above freezing, and we could be seeing ice on road surfaces. It

starts from the in part of Scotland, and that could -- foggy, and that

could linger into the day. In Northern Ireland, some showers

knocking about, and a brief respite for Wales tomorrow after a very

showery night. Through the day, for many of us, not too bad, the calm

before the storm, you might say. Disbanded showers could move up

from the south-west. But on either side, some lengthy dry and bright

spells. A chilly one, temperatures still struggling around five, six,

seven degrees. Things do go downhill very quickly across the

south-west, turning increasingly wet and windy across many central

and southern areas, and white across parts of Wales and the

Midlands. The risk of significant snowfall here, the worse of the

wind staying the other side of the Channel. This mixture of rain and

snow will take its time to clear away from central and eastern areas
