Good evening. It may be hard to believe but we are into January and

some places hadn't had a single frost all winter, and that may be

about to change. Not just yet. Tonight, relatively mild. Close to

freezing in some rural parts of southern England. More likely

Scotland, as the rain clears the way. Parts of southern Scotland,

northern England, North Wales, it will be damper, and another mild

night. Tomorrow, a mild day for the increasingly windy in the north

after a bright start. Rain clouds gathering later on we dampness

across north-west England and North Wales in particular, but plenty of

dry weather. Brighter weather in the South undies to sow a

reasonable afternoon. East Anglia, more sunshine than many of us saw

today. Possibly 13 degrees. The winds will be fairly light. A good

afternoon for south-west England and south-east Wales, as well.

Cloudy but dampness towards Snowdonia at times. Across the

Irish Sea, drizzle in Northern Ireland but dry and cloudy weather.

The breeze, picking up, though, and increasingly cloudy, windy and

eventually wet in Scotland, especially the far north. It is

tied in with an important frontal systems bringing heavy rain. Very

strong wind Through Scotland and northern England, up to 60 mph on

Thursday morning. The wind and rain will subside but the front

continues southwards. An important dividing line between the mild

conditions. Much brighter but colder across the northern half of

the UK on Thursday. The process is completed on Friday. The front

clears the south, lingering in the far south-west but for most of us,

a bright and sunny end to the week with lots of sunshine, a crisp day,

but temperatures lower than we used to. The message is, it will be cold

a fall of us. Yes, there will be some sunshine by day, but certainly
