Good evening. Our weather for this Hallowe'en has certainly been more

trick rather than treat unfortunately. A spell of wet and

windy weather still continues to move eastwards across the country.

So it is an unsettled night to come. The rain is taking its time to

arrive, crossing the north-west of England and Wales across the night

and the south-west through the day. Gale force wind accompanying the

rain. We will continue to see some squally winds and a band of

persistent rain are still to clear away from eastern England. A noisy

night, I suspect, for sleeping. Behind it, temperatures in Scotland

already starting to fall away quite sharply. Some showers lingering,

icy stretches and maybe some fog forming. The weather front clears

rapidly first thing in the morning but could linger in the Shetland

Islands, but it's a cold start across Scotland. And Northern

Ireland. A cluster of showers first thing in the morning. More

widespread showers in north-west England and North Wales and some

sunny spells, though, may be in East Anglia. A legacy of cloud from

that front, but it should shade away. Sunny spells and scattered

showers further south and west. Some of them in the South East may

filter further inland with the odd rumble of thunder through the day.

A cold day with sunshine and showers, persistent but easing in

Northern Ireland but gathering force across western Scotland later

on. Temperatures struggling for the beginning of November, six-10

degrees, despite the sunshine. The windows strengthening in the

evening, which will push a showery rain across Scotland. On the tops

of hills, someone to meanness. The same on the Pennines, as well. A

cluster of showers and the Bristol Channel. These will linger, I

suspect, on Friday, with more organised showers threatening the

south-east. The wind is more of a feature on Friday. A disappointing

feeling to the day, 6-9. Into the weekend, an area of low pressure
