It seems like the rain did not put off the bargain hunters but if you

are wondering when the unsettled weather is likely to end, it is not

likely to be this side of the new year. Strong Wayne and winds and a

continued flooding risk. The areas worst hit by the flooding getting

drier weather tonight. More persistent rain over northern

Scotland and southern England. Later, it will be mild in the south

but more rain will come in through the early hours. Across the North,

there will be ice around for the start of the day, and in Scotland,

temperatures could be close to freezing with some snow in places.

It will be cold in Northern Ireland so they could be icy patches.

Brighter weather from North Wales a cross through the north Midlands.

There will be rain for the South, across Wales, the Midlands, but

towards the South West, more showery rain, not persistent rain.

And it will clear away steadily through the morning leaving

brighter skies. It will struggle to brighten up across northern England

and Scotland. Called across the Northern half of Scotland. -- it

will be cold. A dry day in Northern Ireland and mild across the south,

9, 10 with afternoon sunshine. Mild towards the end of the week, low-

pressure will fill the North Atlantic. Those isobars originating

down the mid- Atlantic. Gale-force winds across many areas on Friday
